Carpenter’s Point was incorporated into Deerpark in 1798. The locale was named Port Jervis in 1827, and it officially became a port of the Delaware River and Hudson Canal in 1828. Day 1: Haze / Sexy

The haze that covered the insular city of Bilgewater Harbour was particularly strong this evening. Rumours of distant lands and even hints of returning to the illustrious Undermine. Abuzz with the sounds of chatter and industry, the winding streets of this soft replica of Kezan would be concealing many things tonight. Where goblins tend to go, vices follow. A myriad of contrasting ideas on full display; manufacturing plants for ammunition stood abreast with casinos, bars and pubs opposite a hospital was either impressive forward thinking or simple haphazard urban planning.

Atop one of the many hills that crested the island stood a club of ill-repute. The goblins tried to spice it up by calling it the “Classy Cabaret ‘n Coin”, however the illusion of such a suave establishment would be ruined by the skull-pounding dance music and the fact the front of house that prided itself on being a joint game-hall for gambling and cabaret took up a mere tenth of the building’s size.

The front of house was bleak. Wallpaper adorned with pineapple print sagged at the top of the walls, a broken table to the side while a stand-up comedian suffered on his joke routine. The patronage would be mixed of its races, but evenly split on their reasons for being there: spying or too poor to afford access to any other place on a Friday evening. The hobgoblin bouncer jumped awake at feeling the hefty weight of a coin purse dropped into his hand from the paw of a black-furred vixen. Wordlessly, she entered the real club.

Her long snout curled into a slight look of disproval at the sight before her before she tilted her head up. Flashing lights, rainbow-coloured bulbs adorning the trim between wall and ceiling and dance poles that belched flames to singe said ceiling. As she navigated deeper into the plaza of pleasures, her monocle reflected the dancers that swung from pole to pole and often into each other’s arms – much to the rowdy audience’s cheers.

Eventually, having sampled the display of debauchery, she stepped delicately across the hall to the back, where a booth under guard stood. Miraculously, it was one of the few properly cleaned sections. A drawn curtain masked the occupant as a privacy window loomed over head. The guard – a Sin’dorei woman with two, dainty horns bursting from her crown – raised a brow at the Vulpera, a chipped claw pulling down her glasses to reveal orbs of emerald fire blazing in the murky ambience of the club.

“We hope you didn’t have too much trouble finding the club, miss.” The Elf said, adjusting the curtain to allow the visiting vixen access.

“Next time, we meet on my terms.” She answered curtly, adjusting the monocle before stepping inside the booth.

As the Sin’dorei wore an apathetic expression, pushing her glasses back up and closing the curtain with a sigh. Oh, how she longed for field work. As the visitor sat down in the booth, her face crinkled as the stench of smoke hit her up close and personal. Her left paw was adorned with a large and rather chunky gauntlet, made of gold with an orb of azerite resting in the middle. She fanned away the smoke as she invited herself to sit down in the booth.

“That isn’t good for your lungs.” She said, her face breaking from contempt to an almost coy smile.

A soft scoff of mirth filled the gap: “Neither is submerging yourself in oil, Abura.”

Senko tapped the edge of a lit cigar into the incredibly chipped ashtray and blew out a smokestack into the ceiling as she smirked. She brought a paw up, covered in a tight and black material with metal adorning the fingertips. In a swift motion, she dampened her cigar to stop it burning before relaxing into the booth, leg over knee, and spoke once more:

“As much as I believe experiencing new sights helps grow a person, I didn’t request to meet you in a strip club simply to watch your discomfort grow.” Senko said with her usual, infuriating cocky attitude.

“Does your wife know you’re here?” Abura asked, taking her monocle off. She went to grab a napkin from the tray on the table only to stop herself, opting to take a tissue from her black, velvet robes.

As if by magic, a shrill, goblin shriek rang out from the privacy window above, followed by it shaking. The shadow-y outline of a spider hit the window before fading out in a puff of purple smoke. Senko’s eyes looked up, then back down to Abura.

“Who do you think designed the outfits for the dancers here? We’re both here on business, however I assure you, Abura-… I’m the nicer one to deal with.” Senko said, giving a wink.

Abura did not believe that.

“… Remind me, then, if I ever need new fashion for my workforce to pay your wife on time.” She said, returning the coy smirk. “Business then?” She enquired, her eyes going from the window to Senko.

“Good minds think alike.” Senko began, dipping her head as she reached for a decanter. She poured herself a glass. She reached for a second glass before Abura shook her head. “More for me.” Senko mused. “I need manpower, Abura, and I know you’re not exactly short on it.” Senko continued.

“You want my workers.” Abura said, placing her monocle back on the eye and clearing her throat. “Miss Senko, I am not one to beat around the bush. How many?”

“Three hundred thousand.”

Wordlessly, Abura stared at Senko. Her monocle fell off her face as she reached for the decanter.
