A lot of people are worried about the album's b-sides getting neglected in favor of charting "Who", but I think if we do the following habit we can make it work:
On every Spotify account you have:
This Is Jimin
MUSE
FACE Remixes
Closer Than This (single)
MUSE Remixes
Set Me Free Pt.2 (single)
MUSE WANDER
SGMB (Single)
MUSE WONDER
THEN alternate between a "Who" focused playlist & MUSE + Remixes Playlists.
By doing these steps not only will we maintain Jimin on Artist Chart, but also keep Who & MUSE stable.

Thrive out spite, if necessary
The vast majority of the time, I go through the world trying to magnify the good--at least, out loud. But sometimes, life hands me a big pile of shit. (It does that to everyone.)
One of the huge shifts I had in my global perspective happened about two years ago when I had a steep uphill battle with uterine cancer. And I realized that... too much shit results in toxic shock and can kill a person. You can't take all that in and hold on to it.
Sometimes, you have to take shit and use it to fertilize your crops.
Sometimes, you have to accept that life isn't fair, and that it hands you so much shit, that if you don't start using that to your advantage, to focus and motivate you, you will get buried.
No one wants to die under a mound of shit.
It's very very VERY clear to me that the Western music industry is scared of BTS and that people in their own companies have it out for Jimin in particular. There's been issues with every release, of course, and I'm no solo or anti--but it's so, SO blatant now that Geffen executives feel empowered to mock ARMY requests for presale links on an open timeline.
And I'll be real with you, when I saw this shit unfold last night, I felt... RAGE. Because every member of BTS is a good person and a hardworking, talented artist in their own right. They all deserve the very best. But my bias in particular is one of the kindest, most humble, most altruistic people on the planet--he has never been difficult or ego-driven--and he does not deserve to be hobbled this way.
So I intend to work extra, extra hard for him. I will shovel through the shit and I will buy, and stream, and vote like a madwoman, until the very end. Even if they cull his numbers and sabotage his charts, his profits in sales and the noise made online will show him--it wasn't all for naught. He's seen, he's heard, he's appreciated, he's loved. (To be honest, he could show up in an empty grass field and sing through a bullhorn and I'd still find a way to get there and scream my lungs out for him. Nothing's gonna stop Park Jimin.)
If you're as enraged as I am and you want to do something productive with that energy, stream the hell out of your playlists and ask at least one family member and one friend to promise to buy SGMB this Friday.
And remember:
Most of the time, things blossom out of love.
But sometimes, you have to thrive out of spite.

Jimin’s FACE & MUSE or FACE vs. MUSE
Tumblr media
I’ve been reading different comments about how people feel about FACE and MUSE or FACE versus MUSE and a few thoughts came to me. First, I am not countering the way anyone feels about them because art exists so that people can interpret it through their own lenses and feel or see what it means to them, even if no one else shares that viewpoint.  I am only thinking through my thoughts about the albums and some comments I’ve seen.
I will always be disappointed that FACE (and Jimin) didn’t get a fair shot at a clean debut. Some readers may have moved on right after reading that line, and that’s okay.  We can agree to disagree. Or not.  With those people now gone, I hope anyone who continues hears me out. There is a reason for bringing that up here, but I’m not bashing or blaming other members. In fact, I don’t even plan to mention other members about that at all because it’s not about them or that. Trust me. It matters to the topic, and I hope you’ll understand better as we go.
The situation for solo work was rather new to BigHit and Hybe, especially regarding BTS.  The companies had to learn just like the members did.  They seemed to have made a promotion plan that didn’t quite work out as well as it should have, but they ultimately made adjustments, and circumstances improved in some ways. There is still room for growth but at least changes were seen.  They also made a plan about how strongly they would support each artist, and I feel they did that wrong too.  Well, overall, we can’t turn back time to see how things would have gone differently had they managed the first debuts better.  We can only live life forward, as I always say.  MUSE did get better promotional support than FACE and received the streams, radio play, and achievements accordingly.  It is just worth it to explain one reason the 2 albums’ results look significantly different as I’m discussing both albums. The difference in their achievements is not due to one album being better than the other. I feel their results may have been more equal, or possibly even reversed, had the promotions been equally done.
Many say FACE was the better album because of its honest, gritty revelations. I also prefer FACE to MUSE - but not by much - and NOT because I feel it is more intense or honest than MUSE.  That was one of my problems about some of the comments I’ve read.  I feel being miserable is not Jimin’s only way to show intense and honest emotions.
FACE and MUSE were written at the same time.  Both of them were important to Jimin and both of them were honest and intense, in my opinion.  They were supposed to be on the same LP album but were only separated due to how contrasting the moods were for each set of songs. One was dark and about unhappy, heavier circumstances, while the other was lighter and about happier, charming themes. I feel Jimin shared intense, important feelings in FACE, and I feel he shared intense and important feelings in MUSE.  He co-wrote most of the music and lyrics for both albums.
I also feel in both situations Jimin was talking about things that were real and important to him but was being artistic in how much information he chose to share and in the tone of how he wanted or needed to share it. For example, if you read my Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (SGMB) post, I explained my view that the video was intended to be light, and even comedic, but was actually filled with a serious message. Like with BTS, information can be written in a poetic and artistic way so that it creates a mood that is intended. BTS could be singing about something dark and serious, but the music is danceable and catchy. As an only English speaker, I didn’t find out what the deeper meaning of songs were until I got the translations, and I was sometimes surprised about how intense or deep the sentiments were based on the melody and rhythm of the music.  That is why I feel some people miss the message Jimin was expressing through MUSE and dismiss it as a silly, unimportant album, especially when compared to FACE.  I venture to say that many awards committees and media venues will overlook MUSE for the same reason. FACE was often overlooked due to the promotion issue mentioned early.
If you read my Man of Messaging post, you will see that I have already expressed that I feel Jimin is saying a lot through his clothes, tattoos, dance, lyrics, melodies, etc. He is not someone who takes emotions or communications lightly.  He is consistent with what he has shared and is sharing, and those who get it, do, and those who don’t either will enjoy it as simply performance or will dismiss it as meaningless. Do so at your own peril. Jimin has things to say, and as an artist he can choose many ways to say them.  He said in one of his photoshoot sketches for MUSE (linked to the mark) that he hoped people would misunderstand some of the messages, and it appears he was successful for those people who don’t realize how significant the meanings were for MUSE in the same way they were for FACE.
Tumblr media
Mission accomplished, Jimin -  for those people complaining about MUSE’s lack of sincerity or depth. The rest of us got it. Interpretations are still in progress, but we know Jimin puts a lot of time, attention, and meaning into his work, regardless.
Jimin always surprises the public and even those who know him personally.  He likes revealing different looks, singing in different tones, creating different sounding songs, and doing different styles of dances and performances. I love that he isn’t afraid to experiment, and he writes what he wants to write and how he wants to write it. He creates the stages and choreography that he envisions in order to delight and entertain.  He’s. Your. Fil. Ter.😉 (If interested, see my indirect Filter post.)
Jimin is always growing and trying new things as Tae said during Festa 2020 (linked to the mark). He said that Jimin was basically “in charge” of bringing surprises to the group as well. In other words, even those close to him aren’t always sure what to expect with his next move.
Tumblr media
In his behind the scenes video for the making of MUSE songs, when Jimin was recording Closer Than This, he said to the engineer that he knew when he sang “My Love, My Baby” it sounded a little cringy (linked to the mark). He laughed and said but he was okay with that and liked it, and it was left in the song, which is partially a fan song. (Yes, I said partially. Read my CTT post if you care to know why I said that.) If Jimin has a message, he will include it, regardless of what others may feel.
MUSE had a different tone and feeling than FACE.  Jimin had explained that for neither album was he going for charts and awards. He shared that he initially wanted to release FACE for free, just to express himself through song and perhaps reach someone who’d understand or who needed to hear the message. I feel the songs for MUSE were written for the same reasons: He wanted to express himself and perhaps if someone else needed to hear the message that would be great too.
As producer PDogg said (linked to mark) in the same making of MUSE songs video, SGMB team was a band that was created  “for those who aren’t able to express their love themselves”.  PDogg was sharing Jimin’s vision of the song with Loco. It wasn’t an empty album. Jimin had things to say, for himself and for others, and, in my opinion, he expressed himself as loudly in MUSE as he did in FACE. IYKYK.
Tumblr media
Anyway, I wanted to think through that in my writing. Whether you agree or disagree, I hope it inspired some thoughts about Jimin and his work.  That is always a wish and hope for my writing about BTS and Jimin. I think they hope their art and lives serve as inspiration of some kind. For anyone who still wants to know my thoughts about what I feel MUSE may mean, see my MUSE post, where I share why I think it is a more complex album than it may appear.  (If interested, my FACE post too.)

The way the BP members are being well promoted and preforming everywhere really puts in perspective how little Hybe has been doing for every member that isn't Jungkook. This is how a member of one of the biggest groups in the world should be promoted. BTS members should be getting more than BP even, but instead they're being treated like they're the members of a random 4th gen boy group. I think so many fans have gotten too used to the bare minimum, they don't realize that this isn't the norm, that any other artist in this level is being given ten times more. If you show a western artist and their label Jimin's promotions and the amount of time he was given to promote and they would be appalled. Like Crazy was given nothing and Who is barely getting anything. Jimin had one fucking week to promote an album he spent months working on. Like, I need people to stop and think about that again cause I feel we forget how insane that was. Look at any other artist and how long they normally promote their albums for. Jimin had one week. Not one month, one week. I'm going to saying it again because it's so ridiculous: One week. ONE! And armys think this is normal?! How low are standards at this point that this is considered not a big deal? That getting a few extra remixes and covers (that are only useful if you already have a lot of fans willing to buy and stream) is considered peak privilege even though those things don't help introduce the song to anyone that isn't a fan. That is not promotion. Do these people know the meaning of the word promotion? You don't need to promote to people that are already fans. Which is why that Instagram channel (that is of course already being used for another member because Jimin has never actually been privileged and nothing he is given is ever exclusive to him) can't be called promotion. You know things are bad when people think privilege is a fucking Instagram channel that no one but fans that already follow them would even know exists. Do armys think this is 2013 and BigHit is a small little company that can't do much for their artists so it's up to the fans to do all the work? Do they not realize Hybe is a huge company worth billions of dollars? Jimin asking his multi-billion company (that he helped get that rich in the first place) for 4 music videos is not in fact a demand so crazy he needs to apologize for even daring to ask it. To even talk about budget when not only does Hybe already have so much money but Jimin constantly makes them even more is absolutely ridiculous. In one day he made them at least 11 million dollars (definitely more) with a documentary that cost almost nothing considering it was all recorded by SGMB themselves, had simple editing, didn't have any promotion other than posting about it on their own social media and was released in a platform Hybe already owns, meaning all the money goes straight to them. And in return Hybe gave him a fanmeet that looked like it cost maybe a 100 dollars. They were being stingy with the number of fucking balloons on his livestream, that company is actually unhinged.
I know this is has already been said before but sometimes is just hits me how incredibly incompetent Hybe is and how ridiculous it is that armys will try to convince us that this is all normal and we're crazy for thinking Hybe should be doing more.
I’ve seen armys complain about BTS’ lack of promotion before. (mostly where it concerned nwjs but still) Outside of that though, they’ve definitely always prized the fact that BTS got their accolades despite BH not doing anything for them. It was their prime dragging material for years towards western and other kpop artists.
But now, the complacency definitely comes from the fact that they don’t see that there’s anything wrong with the inequality between JK and the other members. Not a new development, it’s been discussed before. They’re never gonna call it out because it would mean having to face the fact that everything that has happened in chapter 2 completely goes against OT7ness BTS themselves have crafted, criticize their favorite member and realize that they’re complicit in turning a blind eye to that same inequality in spite of their own 7 or nothing mentality.
And as long as HYBE knows that armys will be there to provide adequate returns, they’re not gonna do anything substantial for the other members. Since it makes them feel like they don’t need to. (This especially goes for Jimin.)
So it’s not incompetence. Bang knows how the music industry operates and what it takes to successfully navigate it. You see how they magically gained the ability to provide prompt links, CDS for both pre release and title tracks (with an additional version) pre orders and pre saves for Jin. Whereas it took their mess getting aired out on national news for them to give Jimin much of anything. And since Jimin is still able to produce stellar results with the meager aid he receives, armys and all these other solos still think that he’s the most favored member. That’s also why even with discussing the inequality the other members receive in comparison to JK, I still can’t find it in me to group them with Jimin’s inequality cause it’s still night and day. He’s still the only member really getting fucked over.
That’s why the constant gaslighting armys will do like chalking it up to jealousy everytime someone points it out, or either make it a “western industry” or a collective BTS issue really exhausts me at an atomic level.

I was in the car a lot today, traveling back from a trip I took. Of course I streamed FACE and Closer Than This and SGMB. But I also listened to some actual radio. I started paying attention to the lyrics of many of the “biggest songs out there” (I live in the U.S.). Taylor Swift, Usher, Raye, etc. Listen. All of these artists are writing songs about misery and broken hearts and how much they hate their ex….their situation…their lives. Lyrics like “it’s got to be better than this” or “when did we start kissing strangers” or “I don’t want to feel like I did last night”. Ok, these songs are catchy no doubt. But I find it kinda sad that the go-to feeling in most of today’s songs is misery or heartache. Which got me thinking about our Jimin. If he wants to call out haters, he’s very capable of doing so (Set Me Free pt. 2 anyone?). But I’ve noticed that if he writes a song about love, it’s always sweet and positive. He wants everyone to know he loves deeply and completely and that being together is the most important thing. And always, he’s singing directly to his love (whose name starts with “J” and ends with “ungkook”), making sure to convey the depth of his feelings. I just find that so endearing. I cannot WAIT to hear his newest (love) songs. I know they are going to be beautiful. 🥰 Have I told you lately how much I love Jimin? How much I love it when he’s letting us know just how in love HE is? Well, I do. I really, really do. Just look at his expression when the object of his affection is in his line of sight! I’m sure that view gives him a lot of inspiration.
