I headcanon Victoria to be a cat without claws, a trait that shaped her personality and interactions with others from a young age. Instead of feeling disadvantaged, compared to her peers, She felt an innate sense of apprehension whenever confronted with situations that hinted at potential physical conflict. 

Unlike other kittens who engaged in play fights, Victoria couldn't bring herself to participate. Instead, such scenarios only heightened her sense of caution, making her interactions more hesitant and reserved. Which led her more into hobbies like dance, and maintaining a peaceful demeanor, especially around kittens her age she encountered. Dancing didn’t require touch, at least when Victoria started, it was her escape, her expression, and she could Share it with others without touch. It wasn’t easy without the common stability of claws, but when she found her balance she achieved a grace like no one else. 

Her grace gave her an approachable aura, drawing others to her like a magnet, they were captivated by her sense of wonder and inherent softness. This same magnetic presence was evident when she crossed paths with the young Plato, who bore a harsh appearance, a stark contrast to her own gentleness. Despite his exterior, he often cast glances her way, though he remained silent, his curiosity was still palpable.

She had never seen anyone quite like him before. Jenny had brought him in, claiming she had discovered him lurking in a paper bag. Malnourished, wet, and frightened.

He had only been at the junkyard for a week, keeping mostly to himself, and finding solace in the company of the older cats rather than interacting much with those of his own age. When Victoria first noticed him, she couldn't help but feel a sense of compassion. Despite his withdrawn exterior, he appeared only slightly older than her, and his demeanor hinted at a past devoid of love, perhaps even lacking a home altogether. This was evident in his reluctance to forge connections with others, a hesitance Victoria couldn’t help but feel pitiful for. 

One afternoon, when Plato was waiting for Jennyanydots to return from patrol outside the car boot she approached him. For a moment, they just stared at one another, not exchanging a word, he didn’t seem all that bothered so Victoria moved closer. 

Despite her initial hesitation, Victoria extended her paw to Plato in a gesture of trust and understanding. It was a small act, but one that carried profound significance for both of them. Plato, unused to such displays of kindness, was initially confused but ultimately accepted Victoria's offer, gently holding her paw in his own, wrapping his claws around the area where her claws should be.

Though they came from different backgrounds, Victoria and Plato found solace in each other's company, as they grew up together, their paw-holding was like a secret touch between the two, Plato felt like the piece Victoria had been missing, her dance partner hiding in plain sight and she in turn brought a softness back to his soul that he believed was long gone.

jellicle lineups; part 1/4

hi catsblur ! today i am presenting to you the fruits of my labor. my own little versions of the jellicle cats; obviously based on the replica designs With Fun Little Twists ! such as, they are not naked. ramble below the cut, both on designs and some personal thoughts on the characters

these designs are very much first-draft, subject to change, blah blah. you will very likely be seeing me drawing them differently if i post more of them. i just. urrbhhh. i had 2 draw them....

and the clothes ! even though they're very feline i draw them a bit too human-y for the nakedness to not look consistently weird. i will be drawing them closer to the stage designs in some instances but for rn. clothes. it was a fun exercise in character design too

the kittens are all young adults, think 18-20 ! as much as i love headcanons like demeter being sillabubs mother, it shrimply will not work out timeline-wise. so headcanons like that will be delegated to like... siblings and stuff

victoria | 🍧 💌 🩰

i started out with victoria's design not only because of her being the Main Kitten, but because she has such a concise and clear aesthetic to me. she actually started out with a simple pastel brown dance practice fit before i decided that i wanted to make the outfits ornate(ish) and ended up with a proper ballerina getup

i also quite like when victoria is not just solid white with some grey (love ones that are more yellow or brown) so i colored her fur with some blue and pink-ish tones not only to add more depth but to resemble the trans flag LOL

and i wanted to try something different with making her a bit more lavender than baby pink. i also based her overall look on obc victoria, portrayed by cynthia onrubia :^]

to move on to character interpretation, i think victoria is partially deaf and mute. she primarily communicates through dance. as one of the oldest kittens she'd be 19 in human years

plato | 💐 🕯 🍬

plato's design doesnt stray too far from his standard replica design but i tried to add my own flair . i tried to keep the creepy porcelain doll aesthetic going w their face added some more depth like some other designs with different colors and bold face stripes

i also really like the outfit i chose for them. the flower in their hair and on their shirt is a peony which is a popular wedding flower :") because im a sucker for platoria and very much subscribe to the idea that the ball we see is their funny cat wedding in a way

the outfit is based on standard ballerino costumes but i tried to stray from it with the silky half-skirt thing and pointe shoes. lets go queer cats lets go

i think plato is also very quiet and that's why he and victoria were so drawn to each other. i also quite like the idea that he was a bit of a troubled stray before he found the jellicles. they would be 20 in human years

electra |⚡🥭 🔔

boy i STRUGGLED with electra's clothes i struggled so hard. i think i'm happy with what i ended up with though—i originally gave her the babydoll dress that sillabub has (inspired by artsed electra) but figured that i wanted at least one of the girls to be more tomboyish/butchy. thank you to that one production which apparently had electra be one of the raffish crew and get in on some of the boys' choreography

im very happy with what i did with her fur colors as well. silly little tortoiseshell :] its based on a nonrep but i have no idea which one. enjoy her freckles too

i think electra deserves to be a little spunky. [whispers] i also think shes bombalurinas little sister. she'd be 18 in human years

i needed at least one cat with a circus aesthetic. say hello to my magnum opus: jacked tumbler acrobat etcetera. it was only a matter of time until someone said fuck it and let one of the girls perform lifts and stuff. this is mostly because ive always really liked how shes usually the cat to do the flying trapeze bit and wanted to push it further

i also struggled SO EXTREMELY HARD with making her colors look nice and makeup distinctive but i figured it out in the end—thank you obc cettie for the mismatched eyeshadow and such. i also wanted to give a cat a short bob type of head fur/hairstyle and she fit the bill

nothing much about specific character notes other than like... i want to make her related to some of the cats but cannot for the life of me figure out who 2 assign. also she'd be around 19 in human years, a couple months younger than vic

sillabub | 🌻 🧋 🎼

i think of all of these little fellas sillabub is my favorite. several elements are balanced in her design—the standard jemima with a darker/reddish palette, the more softer and lighter sillabub design, the red eye patch from il sistina jemima, and the overall aesthetic of obc jemima with the big hair and wide, deepset eyes

i've seen her typical design critiqued by some people and wanted to incorporate those critiques by making her look less similar to demeter/bombalurina, adding more red to her body fur, and making her makeup more distinct and less... wooo girl give us nothing. and i included the squiggly on her collarbone

i also really REALLY love her overall aesthetic of sweet kindhearted girl NAMED AFTER A DEMON WITH SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG COLORING AND GIGANTIC SPIKED COLLAR !!!! so i decided to push it by making the collar definitely too big for her, giving her a slightly "edgy" outfit and making her hair resemble devil horns

as for character stuff, i think she has magical powers though i haven't developed exactly What they are yet. beyond her sweet exterior they trouble her. [whispers] i also think shes demeters little sister. she would be 18 in human years, a few months younger than electra and tumblebrutus

pouncival | 🌱 🩹 🍵

i struggled with pouncival's clothing design like i did electra's because i didn't go into drawing him with a particular gimmick in mind. but i think i'm happy with the casual formal look. it makes him look like such a kind young man even if he's a little shit

i did have a lot of fun trying to make his makeup distinctive from tumblebrutus'—so many fellas with brown eyepatches ! so his colors are more dark and striking. i also tried to make him look less like Typical Cis Man by giving him a bit of black lipstick

enjoy his freckles too

but like. i think hes literally such a little cis guy. nothing else for me to add for my specific interpretation of him it's all laid out. this guy fucking loves rocket league, fishing and chess. he'd be 19 in human years

tumblebrutus | 🎡 🥊 🍦

SWEET TUMBLEBRUTUS. i think drawing him here gave me a soft spot for him. with his outfit mirroring cettie's i didn't much struggle with that. his colors are also based on obc tumblebrutus

when i was first conceptualizing my own versions of the cats i wanted at least one of them asides from grizabella to have wavy fur. and idk what it is, maybe it's the lack of content for him, but i was really drawn to the idea of curly tumblebrutus!

i wanted their design to be distinctive from pouncival's so i made their colors softer, kinda watercolor-y. OH AND THEIR FUR IS ALSO MEANT TO BE A LITTLE TRANS FLAG COLORED

as for character, i think he is also a bit troubled, as a son of grizabella's. you heard me, people. i'm probably the first person ever to headcanon that. he'd be 18 in human years

He's a stray and tends to stay in the junkyard most of the time Munk and Demeter have been able to convince him to stay at their owners house sometimes but it's not really his thing so he's kinda the families indoor/outdoor cat

Has a sorta 'Big Brother' role to Tumble and Pounce, he found them on them alone streets when they were kits and brought them to the junkyard, Jellylorum took on the mom role for them but their still his little losers

His love language is acts of service

Is the tribes second in command

Isn't a big fan of touch but will relent for Demeter and Munk because he knows that's how they show affection

Demelonzostrap headcanons

-Meeting

Demeter and Munkustrap grew up together in the junkyard and while they weren't that close when they were younger they did consider each other friends. Alonzo never planned on joining a tribe, but after finding two kittens in a back alley he knew he needed to find somewhere safe for them. he had heard of the tribe of cats in the junkyard and figured he could go there, at first he was planning on just dropping the two kittens off making sure they were ok and going about his life as before but he unfortunately grew attached to those two trouble makers. when he first went to the junkyard he kept to himself and just focused on Tumble and Pounce, Then he meet Munkustrap. They quickly got on and would proudly call each other best friends.

-Dating

After Demeter and Bombalurina left with Macavity when he was banished Munkustrap had to step up as the next in line to be the jellicle leader and tribe protector. He threw himself head first into this new role, Alonzo not liking how his friend was clearly struggling with this new responsivity stepped up to help him in anyway he could. At first the were clearly just friends and Alonzo even had a short lived relationship with Cassandra, But there was always something between them. They didn't know what to call it at first, they were both just kinda longing in silence. Then Alonzo kissed him. And something just clicked.

Now when Demeter and Bomba came back to the Junkyard, Bomba with a young kitten and Demeter with a Toddler and newborn kit, All the kittens clearly Macavitys there was tension in the tribe on whether to let them back in, Munkustrap and Tugger were their biggest advocates and made it clear they wouldn't take no as a answer. when Old Deuteronomy made it clear they were welcomed Tugger instantly took Bombalurina and her kitten to his owners house to keep her safe and was willing to take Demeter too but she wanted to stay in the junkyard. Alonzo and Munkustrap put themselves in charge of keeping Demeter safe. Since Alonzo lived in the Junkyard he would stay with her a night.

Demeter was thankful for them and slowly opened up to them and eventually welcomed them fully into her life. She at first considered them as friends and wasn't ready for another relationship and wasn't sure if she ever would be. But she couldn't deny that she cared about them and they were both very sweet with Plato and Jemima. There wasn't really a exact day they decided they were together just one day Demeter was like 'oh i have two husbands now' and she is very happy about that

-Kittens

they have 7 kittens (counting Jemima and Plato)

First is Plato Demeter's adopted son, Jemima, and she is Demeter and Macavitys Daughter

Then there was Demeter and Munkustraps Litter

"There's no Nicer Witch than You"

Mistoffelees x Plato

Summary: Plato sneaks out of the Junkyard on a dare to find the mysterious Mister Mistoffelees, a local stray rumoured to have magical powers.

This doesn't adhere to any one production or universe - characters and personalities are played with as desired.

It was July, and it was hot, and the baking yellow sun hung heavily in the evening sky. The Junkyard simmered beneath it. Ferocious white rays glittered off shards of shattered glass. Most scraps were rusted beyond recognition, but those that still had sheen and colour soaked in enough light to scorch even the most calloused of paw-pads.

"This is unbearable," Socrates groaned. He flopped onto his side, sending a cloud of hot dust billowing into the air. Plato scrambled backwards a little too late, and sneezed so hard that his shoulders shook.

"Yes, we heard you the first six dozen times," Victoria grumbled. She was curled in a ball beneath the overhang of a greying wood palette, seeking shade between the brittle slats. "If you don't have anything new to say, kindly keep it to yourself. I'm trying to sleep."

"How can you sleep in this weather?"

"Easily."

"Come on, Vicky, we can't just sleep all day! We've got to do something to pass the time."

Victoria raised her head and glared down at Socrates. "Well, I'm not moving from this spot, so if your idea involves any sort of physical effort on my part, you can jolly well keep your mouth shut."

"I wouldn't dream of inconveniencing you, princess," Socrates said smoothly. "I was going to suggest Truth or Dare."

"That's a game for little kittens," Victoria deadpanned. "Besides, a dare would require me getting up, which I told you I'm not going to do."

"Then only pick truths!" Socrates glanced at Plato and nudged him with a hind leg. "What do you think -- good idea?"

Plato sniffed, still reeling from his enormous sneeze. "I-it wouldn't hurt to have something to do…"

"Perfect!" Socrates crowed. "That's two against one. C'mon, Vee. I can see how bored you are."

finally drew my hc for plato's mother, Marigold.

She was a stray that Macavity met shortly after leaving the Jellicles. They were both young and the relationship didn't last long. Unfortunately, she died when Plato was a kitten, leaving him a lone stray (which doesn't last too long, since he was taken in by the Jellicles).

She was kind and loving, but also jaded from her life as a stray. She had a "do no harm, take no shit" attitude.

Ooh I like this question. This will be a long one as there are a lot of Jellicles 😅

Old Deuteronomy: doesn't have humans but does love hanging around the humans at the vicarage. He's sort of the friendly stray cat who gets in everyone's way as he lays in the traffic XD

Munkustrap: lives with humans. I love to imagine he lives with a family who have a little girl that he absolutely adores, he thinks of her as his human kitten 🥰

Rum tum tugger: definitely has humans which he annoys with his habit of never deciding whether he wants to be in or out and getting stuck in drawers XD

Demeter, Bombalurina and Jemima: I imagine Dem was a stray up until she broke off from Macavity and wanted a second safe place to stay when not at the junkyard. I think she moved in with her sister Bombalurina and brought her kitten Jemima too. I think that's why they all have matching spiked collars

Skimbleshanks: the trains and station are his home and he's beloved by everyone who works there

Jennyanydots: obviously lives with humans where she teaches the mice and cockroaches

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer: live in a very rich fancy house. They may be troublesome but their owners love them and would never get rid of them

Pouncival, Tumblebrutus, Electra and George: stray kittens who live in the junkyard. I love imagining George as a puppy who was raised by the cats and now thinks he's a cat

Etcetera: I don't know why but she strikes me as someone with owners. Ones who love to play with their excitable kitten

Mistoffelees and Victoria: twins who live with humans around their uncle Bustopher's side of town, so quite well off. Definitely the pretty kitties who make for great pictures (when Misto isnt disappearing in the middle of them)

Alonzo: a stray who would never ever live with humans. He's someone who likes to think of himself as strong and independent and he's grown up on the streets (but secretly he loves having his tribe around to help)

Plato: a stray who's training to become a protector. He likes visiting Victoria's house.

Cassandra: lives with humans. She's very aloof even after living with her humans for years. She's a very elegant, photogenic cat though, loves to pose from afar.

Macavity: a stay gathering his own gang. But I do find it funny to imagine him with an owner who thinks he's just their fuzzy silly litte guy, who's never done anything wrong XD

Gus and Asparagus Jr: Gus lives at the theatre with his son. Asparagus wants to be there to take care of him when Jelly can't

Jellylorum: has humans and loves to visit her friend Jenny or take care of Gus with Asparagus when she's free

Coricopat and Tantomile: strays with a mysterious past. They haven't told anyone yet where they came from.

Bustopher Jones: lives in a very fancy house and of course goes off to his various clubs regularly

Grizabella: used to live with humans but left them when she left the tribe

Korean Character Bios

I posted before about some characters bios from the 2008 South Korea Tour. I tried to translate the bios for the named swings with mixed results.

Well, it turns out that I’d completely failed to notice that Google Translate actually has a Korean keyboard that let me type more letters than other online keyboards did, and I was able to get some slightly better translations this time. Also, I did all of them. I’ve Google Translated all the character bios.

So, here they are:

Seductive Cat / Grizabella

She was a member of the Jellicles as a seductive, pure, curious cat, but she left the Jellicle society to experience a bigger and wider world. Now, marginalized for her shabby appearance, she returns to the Jellicle society to become a Jellicle member again.

(Notes: It appears that the word “seductive” is used to mean “glamorous”.)

Rebellious Cat / Rum Tum Tugger

A member of the Jellicles, he’s a cat who does only what he wants to do and has a clear sense of self. He likes to receive attention and is charismatic just by being himself, so he is the most popular with female cats.

Prophet Cat / Old Deuteronomy

As the eldest ancestral cat of the Jellicles, he is intelligent, wise, respected, and loved. Every year at the Jellicle Ball, a cat is selected and sent to the Heaviside Layer to become a new Jellicle cat.

(Notes: “ball” was actually “festival”, but I shifted terminology to match. Also, is Old D the ancestor of all Jellicles?)

Leader Cat / Munkustrap

A young and responsible leader cat who protects and takes care of the Jellicle Tribe. the Jellicle Cats trust and follow him as a leader.

Theatre Cat / Gus

After Old Deuteronomy, he is the oldest and has been a Jellicle member for many years. He was a famous actor when he was young, but now he is suffering from a serious illness.

Wealthy Cat / Bustopher Jones: 

Although not a member of the Jellicles, he is an aristocratic cat who is always welcomed. In his spare time, he likes to play golf and enjoy lavish meals.

(Notes: So Bustopher isn’t a Jellicle? I’m still not sure what defines a Jellicle in this version.)

Kind Cat / Jellylorum: 

She is a middle-aged, kind-hearted cat who always takes care of old Gus and the kittens.

Thief Cat Couple / Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer: 

A playful and clever couple of thief cats who are always causing trouble together.

(Notes: The word for “thief” sometimes translated as “stray” but only when applied to the word “cat”, so I’m guessing the Korean term for “stray cat” might be “thief cat”. But, Jerrie and Teazer are clearly not strays in their number’s lyrics, so I used the translation that applied to them. Also, the word “couple” translated as “pair” sometimes, so this isn’t confirming a romantic pairing, but they could’ve been playing it that way anyway, for all I know, so take that how you will.)

Train Cat / Skimbleshanks: 

As a train conductor, he is an orderly cat who takes on all the responsibilities of the train. An uncle to all cats, kittens love to hear his stories as a storyteller.

Magician Cat / Mr. Mistoffelees: 

The best magician, though he can’t speak. He can even make things disappear. As a great magician, he rescues the kidnapped Old Deuteronomy.

(Notes: “Magician” can also translate as “wizard” or “sorcerer”. This Misto is mute, which makes sense for a production from this region and era. Outside of Japan, east Asian productions are usually based on Australian ones, which is where the named swings come from. Although the first Australian productions had Misto sing, they later made him mute, only to switch back more recently. 2008 was during the mute era.)

Sensual Cat / Bombalurina: 

She is a very sensual and sexy cat, popular with male cats who pay attention to her sexual desires. As Demeter’s older sister, she always protects her.

(Notes: I think “older sister” might not be literal. She might just be a sort of “older sister figure”. It’s not clear.)

Sensitive Cat / Demeter: 

Because of Macavity, she is anxious and nervous about everything. She is also at risk of being kidnapped by Macavity. If she shows any signs of anxiety, it’s always a sign that Macavity is nearby.

(Notes: So, she’s always anxious, because of Macavity, but if she’s anxious, which is all the time, Macavity’s nearby. Is Macavity nearby all the time? This one is weird.)

Siamese Cat / Cassandra: 

Possesses a strange beauty. As the only hairless Siamese cat, she always behaves arrogantly.

(Notes: Despite the better keyboard, this one wouldn’t translate properly, so there’s some stuff missing. This is the general idea of what I think was being said. I wonder how having a Siamese cat in the cast affected Growltiger.)

Gumbie Cat / Jennyanydots: 

During the daytime, she sits all the time and seems lazy, but at night she’s actually a busy cat who educates bugs and mice.

White Cat / Victoria: 

She is the purest, most innocent cat. This Jellicle Ball is her first, but she presents a beautiful dance.

Philosophical Cat / Plato: 

A cat who doesn’t move much, so he looks lazy, but he reads a lot and is always careful with his actions.

(Notes: I thought this characterization was weird until I realized that he’s “philosophical” because he’s Plato. He’s literally named after a philosopher. Since Australia-based productions at this time where Broadway-based, Broadway inspirted Australia inspired South Korea, Plato is just Macavity’s double and doesn’t have much to really do, so I guess they decided to have a bit of fun with the character.)

Villain Cat / Macavity: 

The mob boss of the feline world. Kidnapped Old Deuteronomy as the villain who commits evil deeds.

Just Cat / Alonzo: 

A masculine cat who is always dignified and protects young cats, even in inconspicuous places. He rescues Demeter from Macavity. They spend their lives together.

(Notes: More Broadway-based stuff. It seems like Broadway-based Alonzos are the superheroes of the Cats world.)

Copy Cat / Pouncival: 

A boy who wants to be a man. He follows Skimble around.

(Notes: His title more literally means “mimicking cat”, but how could I not translate it this way? Anyway, here’s another translation that wouldn’t cooperate with me. The first sentence ended up something like “a young male cat who wants to be worn by an adult male cat”. I couldn’t get it to make sense, so I guessed at what it was supposed to mean. He is Skimble’s copycat at that’s adorable.)

Curious Cat / Sillabub: 

Victoria’s best friend, a curious, intelligent, and pure kitten. She helps Grizabella return to the Jellicles by singing ‘Memory’ together.

Twin Cats / Coricopat and Tantomile: 

Mysterious twin cats who are not yet adults, but are still mature and have excellent cognitive skills. They always move together and do the same things.

(Notes: The twins are kittens/junior cats in this version, apparently.)

Teenage Cat / Tumblebrutus: 

A teenage boy who wants to be a man. His actions take precedence over thoughts and words, and he gets a lot of guidance from Munkustrap, because he can’t read the room.

(Notes: Very much a Broadway characterization. His first sentence was nearly the same as Pouncival’s. “read the room” was more literally “interpret the atmosphere”, but I thought this sounded more natural. Also, Munkustrap Adopts Kittens With Poor Social Skills.)

And now, named swings:

Stubborn Cat / Victor: 

He is more stubborn than any other cat and has a temperamental personality.

Meditating Cat / Olivia: 

She is a deep thinker with a determined personality.

Gentleman Cat / Admetus: 

An internally strong, generous, and gentle cat with a masculine appearance.

I'm really curious about Socrates! Is he also a child of Macavity in your headcanon?

Before I answer that, I am going to ask you to forgive me because what I'm about to say might be confusing af.

I want to clarify that the individual I have chosen to call Socrates (the name made up for the other half of the "Les Twins" duo cast in the 2019 film, the other getting the name Plato...though why they didn't just name them Admetus and Plato as a nudge nudge to the name confusion is a mystery to me - I am determined to crowbar my way into sense any way) is Broadway!Plato (aka OG Plato before the 1998 film applied his name to Admetus). So this guy:

In my HC universe co-exists with Plato (Admetus) as a separate character rather than just Broadway and co's replacement adult cat for Macavity's chorus identity. But so Admetus can keep the name Plato, even though it belonged to Broadway Plato first, I decided that he should get the other philosopher name as an homage. Ergo, when I'm referring to Socrates, I'm referring to this lad here.

All square? Yes? No? I'm not.

Now to your actual question, Socrates isn't Macavity's child in my HC universe. He was born into Macavity's tribe (In a different circle than Alonzo and the rest of the gang were running - the Mouser's Palace group is actually a lot bigger than anyone knows - so they didn't really know each other before) in the outskirts, along with a littersister Hypatia.

His mother was Maireetots, one of Macavity's henchcats and an overtly prideful queen, and his father is unknown - most likely a passing conference alleycat or a stray (he and Hypatia may even have different fathers, but his mother never told them). Macavity didn't particularly care for kittens, especially ones that weren't his, but since his vision of the Mouser's Palace was a bit of an idea of his own twisted version of a Tribe family (credit to @theimpossiblescheme for that great idea), he allowed queens to keep their kittens, so long as they didn't get underfoot. They had uses; and it was better to get cats when they were young and impressionable. Like creating a little weapon.

They were left mostly to their own devices and to fend for themselves, their mother treating them more like colleagues than children when they were weaned, with the idea being drilled into them that they were part of Macavity's "family" and would therefore work for him one day, just like the other straggling and rejected kittens. So that kind of life was just normal for them. When they came of age they were given to the first henchcat willing to train them, little "pets" as they were, with the end goal that they may be taking over for them when the situation arose. Many kittens within Macavity's gang were trained the same, under his advice and desire for control, to operate in the criminal underground as necessary, but to stop short of becoming a rival (though ask several long dead henchcats how great that model actually was - some cats raised in under that situation see an opportunity and they seize it).

Socrates and Plato got out together after a final straw situation, Plato having hung around them a lot after being cast to the outskirts (he tried to stay as small and undetectable as possible - most henchcats treat Macavity's heirs with kid gloves, but since Macavity had cast him off, he was fair game). Socrates had just started working under a henchcat named Pallas, and realized very quickly that it was one thing to be *taught* to do these things, but it was another thing entirely to do them. So he makes the plan to run at their first opportunity.

Hypatia was supposed to come with them, but being soft of heart and just having completed her own training, stayed behind to watch after their mother (because she was convinced that she could reach her and get her to leave as well - but could protect her in the meantime). He hasn't seen her since. He doesn't know if she's still alive, but sometimes he looks for her in alley shadows and under dripping awnings.

what are your skimbledots headcanons?

Skimble and Jenny are the quickest to adopt strays. Their family is the biggest in the Junkyard, and they both try to give personal attention to all of the kittens, making sure that each one knows they are loved. They are particularly protective over Plato because of the rumor that he is Macavity's son. On the rare occasion that they aren't busy keeping the Junkyard in order, Skimble and Jenny will take a vacation to their owner's house or go for a walk near the train station. Skimble's favorite pastime is pointing Humans out to Jenny and explaining how each of them spends their time on the train. Jenny practices songs with the mice, and then surprises him with a mouse choir when it's his birthday or their anniversary.

Can you please tell me your favourite Asparalorum hcs?

I have them as being childhood friends first. Asparagus Jr was Gus's son, possibly a stray kitten he took in, though I'm not sure of that yet, and Jellylorum was a cat Gus appointed his assistant when she was young, and he noticed she wasn't fitting in well , and wanted to help her make connections with other members of the tribe. A few months after Jellylorum joined, they met for the first time. At first they didn't along very well, mostly because they were both still quite young, and both interpreted the other as monopolizing Gus's attention and time. After they were given a good talking to, this settled down, and they quickly became close friends. They grew closer and closer, and just sort of slipped into being in a romantic relationship, without a real start date.

I think they have a very close relationship, and trust each other very deeply, though they aren't as 'lovey-dovey' as some of the other junkyard couples are. However, they both love talking to each other, or else just spending quiet time together. Due to them being friends for so long before entering a romantic and sexual relationship, they know and understand each other very well, to the point where they can predict each other's actions and thoughts with ease.

I also have Tumblebrutus (named after the character in Gus's old play, of course!), Pouncival, and Etcetera as being their first litter, which is a fair bit later than most cats will have their first. That being said, they did informally adopt Plato before that as well. I think part of what led to their decision to have kittens when they did was that at the last year's Jellicle Ball, they were both forced to realize Gus might not live much longer, and wanted him to meet his Grandchildren before he died.

Actually while I'm on my Deuteronomy thought train:

It's odd for a supposed leader to spend so much time away from his figurative kingdom, but Deuteronomy always seemed to have a sense for where he needed to be; the cold streets weren't an idle spot for a cat of his age, but the walks against his unsteady legs didn't matter.

He was always searching; it made him look busy to the humans; constantly walking with purpose that they couldn't understand.

The reason was quite simple: he was in search of cats. Or one particular cat.

Any stray he could find, or was willing to listen to his offer of sanctuary. Most adult stray cats had grown hardened to supposed offers, so she always had better luck with kittens who knew no better but to believe there was a chance for finer things ahead. Though some adult strays were convinced, just with time.

First was Bill Bailey, then the witches cats, Noilly Pratt, Quaxo, Plato, Pouncival, Electra, and his most recent Etcetera. He would bring them to the tribe and give them a home, always encouraging the other jellicles to do the same.

Most had assumed Deuteronomy started this act of searching out for cats out of his own consideration, and while that was partially true, he started to find one cat that had fallen out with them all, but he never did. She was intentionally avoiding him after all.

Pouncival headcanons!

Nobody asked for this but here they are

He is the son of Jellylorum and stray tom. He is her youngest kitten his siblings are Etcetera, Plato, Tantomile, and Coricopat. He doesn't share a father with any of them.

He is best friends with Tumblebrutus and together they are the cause of 80% of Munkustrap’s headaches.

He wants to be an actor because he grew up listening to his grandfather's, Gus, stories about theater.

He is a huge fan of Tugger and hopes that one day he'll have fangirls squealing over him. He knows deep down that it's not going to happen but he can dream.

He is “dating” Jemima. I put dating in quotations because I think that they're around 8-9 in human years. They just eat meals together and sometimes hold paws. Jemima kissed his cheek once and he ran away and hid for two hours.

To add to this, Munkustrap does not approve of his “relationship” with his daughter, but most of the older queens think it's a cute little thing that they’ll grow out of soon.

Victoria Headcanons Victoria is a house cat and lives with a old couple and was a gift from there grandchildren for Christmas. Platoria Headcanons -meeting They meet during the first jellicle ball after Demeter escaped from Macavity and took Plato with her. Plato stayed off to the side and was mainly just keeping an eye on Jemima and Demeter. He spotted Victoria, who came to the ball with her brothers, when she was doing her solo. the way the light of the jellicle moon reflected of her fur made her look like a angel

-dating It took a while for Plato to gather the courage to talk to her, but once he did they became fast friends. they weren't dating officially till after the Jellicle ball where they preformed the pas de deux together

Hi! My names arthur and im working on improving my word and building my story, which currently has no name haha! I have a myriad of characters who ill try to list out and give brief descriptions of, aether is technically my main character and some of the characters who are up for question are dead in canon. @dramatical-cat here’s my 2019 Tugger, Plato, and Socrates backstory I was talking about last night!

Tugger, Plato, and Socrates met when they were kittens. Tugger’s parents were both show cats, Plato and Socrates’ were both strays, and very protective of their sons. Tugger’s owners decided that a kitten was too much work, and his parents, being show cats, didn’t really have the time to take care of a kitten, so one day, Tugger slipped out the back door. He bumped into Plato and Socrates and their parents, who took one look at the little tom and instantly adopted him. 

Tugger, Plato, and Socrates became best friends on the spot, and were absolutely inseparable. Tugger’s the oldest of the trio, so when Coricopat and Tantomile came around, he suddenly found himself with a lot more responsibility, especially after their parents were captured by a human and taken to the pound. Tugger tried to go after them with Plato and Socrates, but they were too late. It was after that day that they decided to never let anything separate them. 

Tugger hated wearing collars, but he knew that collars meant humans, and humans meant you wouldn’t get sent to the pound. It would also be a way of identification from other cats, so he, Plato, and Socrates found bits of bone outside of restaurants, along with chains, and created “collars” for themselves, as well as less extravagant ones for Coricopat and Tantomile. (aka their matching BFF necklaces)

They join the tribe when Old Deuteronomy finds them one winter outside of The Egyptian, and she invites them in out of the cold. Tugger hesitantly accepts her invitation, and that’s when they meet the rest of the tribe. Coricopat and Tantomile are still fairly young, so they get along well with the other kittens, but Tugger, Plato, and Socrates are still suspicious and cautious around them. They don’t fully trust the Jellicles, mainly because of survival instincts, and it takes a while for them to fully open up to the rest of the tribe.

Tugger is still very protective over Plato, Socrates, Coricopat, and Tantomile, hence why, at the Jellicle Ball, he’s the one to break up the more “traditional dancing” right before Coricopat, Plato, and Socrates get to do their dance, though he eases up a bit. His attitude is more of a defense mechanism than anything else, a shield built up over the time spent on the streets. There are times, when the tribe is all together and spending evenings, when one of them wakes up with a nightmare, or Plato and Socrates will wake up with a memory of the pound, calling for their parents, and Tugger will immediately go to them without question, and the five will go off into a secluded corner of the theater to sit, and Coricopat and Tantomile will cuddle their brothers and use their magic to comfort them.

So yup, that’s my (rough) backstory for them that I wrote out at 12:13 am 😌
