Psst. Here’s a tip. Open a word processing program, pick a font that goes with your blog, and type the name &/or tagline. Tweak the color until it matches said blog. Take a screenshot at the best resolution you can. Shrink. Boom. You made yourself a logo, dahlink. Use on WordPress, etc., for great justice.
(Bonus: Pick a unified font for logo, blog, biz cards, etc. Just until you can afford a graphic designer...)
