Rebranding Intro (cuz why not lol)
This is my new logo! It's simple, and not all that different from my old one (which was just a random picture I found online). But I hope you guys like it! I am also making themed variations of it based on my various different WIPs lol. Just for fun!
So, I thought I'd take the opportunity to quickly tell you about the changes I've decided to make to my second blog. Originally, it was only for my AU series, and while I still definitely want to finish that series, progress with it (both writing and posting) hasn't gone as quickly and as smoothly as I had hoped it would. Aside from that, I have a ton of other stuff that I want to post that feel very different from my other typical writeblr stuff that I post on my main blog. So I thought I'd put it here!
Welcome to my new blog. Rickie Does Random Stuff. Formally Aurelian University. On here, expect to find side projects (like my YouTube channel and Wattpad stories/short stories separate from my main ones), the rest of the AU series (eventually lol) and random musings and posts on various topics. That sort of thing.
Yeah. That's it. Stay tuned for more shenanigans, I guess.

Get Your Art Fix!
“Winking is the language of mischief.” ~ Unknown
"Chanel Wink" by Jamie Nelson, 2019
Series: Chanel
Arty-Fact: In this series, Jamie created a collection of Chanel images which questions a cultural obsession with excessive branding. Jamie collaborated with artist Dylan Egon to create custom faux Chanel pieces. In contrast, Anna Katsanis styled the series using authentic Chanel, inviting the viewer to guess what is real and what is faux. The images illustrate how a simple logo cultivated over time can hypnotise society.
Jamie parodies the absurdities of brand obsession and logo consumption, from a microscopic Chanel eye-booger, to a fully Chanel tattooed face—even a Chanel handgun. Jamie questions how far we take our logo-laden identities—spending exorbitant money on anything and everything adorned with a fashion symbol.
Anyway, what if, in the end it was all a farce and proven to be faux all along?

A little 4 page comic(?) I made for a class I am taking :)
Primarily around my fascination with the evolution of brands & the history pages you find on corporate sites. Branding and advertisement are fundamentally evil under capitalism and yet I love them !!
It is also about what if the spiritualist movement was right & got capitalist about it and then a photography guy was kinda pretentious
#i really enjoyed making the fake logos and slogans for this... I honestly didn't even write most of this to be specifically humorous but#people thought it was funny so that makes me happy lol#very curious if anyone else has used this format for storytelling before btw I am not self important enough to think I'm the first but idk

Creating a Consistent Brand Identity Through Graphic Design
The Importance of Brand Guidelines A brand identity is more than just a logo; it's a comprehensive set of guidelines that define how a brand is perceived. These guidelines should cover everything from color palettes and typography to messaging and tone of voice.
The Power of Color:
Color plays a significant role in shaping brand perception. Consistent use of a brand's primary and secondary colors helps to create a cohesive and recognizable visual identity.
Typography: The Font of Personality
Typography can convey a brand's personality and tone. Choosing the right fonts can help a brand appear modern, classic, playful, or serious.
The Logo: The Face of Your Brand
A strong logo is the cornerstone of a brand identity. It should be memorable, versatile, and aligned with the brand's values.
Storytelling Through Design
Graphic design can be used to tell a brand's story. By incorporating elements that reflect the brand's history, values, or mission, designers can create a more meaningful and engaging experience for customers.
To ensure your brand identity is executed flawlessly, consider partnering with a reputable graphic design firm that offers Graphic Designing Services in Punjab.

The iconic LIFE magazine, now mostly an online only entity, was established in 1883. In 1936, publisher Henry Luce, the owner of Time Inc., purchased the company for $92,000, transforming its focus to visual storytelling. Its popularity exceeded all expectations, with circulation peaking at over 13.5 million copies per week during its heyday. The cover of the 26 April 1937 edition, featuring Torkel Korling's photograph of a white leghorn rooster with a beautifully detailed cockscomb, is particularly memorable for its absence of the signature red and white 'LIFE' masthead. Luce had tasked Al Zingaro, a layout artist working the nightshift, to create a cover showcasing Korling's rooster photo. Zingaro quickly obliged but something wasn't right. Luce felt the masthead and cockscomb clashed. As the clock ticked past midnight, and despite Zingaro's redrafts, they couldn't agree on the LIFE logo's placement. Zingaro recalled the pivotal moment: 'I said, “Mr. Luce, we are at an impasse.” He was silent for all of 30 seconds then the thunderclap! “Let us omit the logo entirely. This fine photo must not be tampered with,” he said. “We’ll put LIFE in the red banner below in small type."'
Luce's resolve to temporarily demote his fledgling magazine's branding, driven by his concern for preserving the artistic integrity of a photograph of a rooster, is truly admirable. By removing the masthead, the cover gains a timeless quality and aesthetic durability that allows it to resonate both in the 1930s and nearly a century later in the 2020s.
