hopped on the scooby doo train choo choo
(doodle based on that one image)
also, have some thoughts:
- ok so Fred and Velma were childhood friends and Velma was always interested in the supernatural - she started a mystery solving gig and Fred came along cuz he didn't wanna see her get hurt - she insisted she didn't need help (she's kinda stubborn like that) but she eventually caved and brought Fred along with her - their first client is a girl named Daphne who's CERTAIN that her house is haunted
-theyre suspicious of her at first since she's friends with many of the same ppl that bully them but it turns out she's actually qutie nice and delighted to meet ppl who FINALLY believe her for once
-like there was one time where the bullies called for an investigation and of course Velma agreed to go but all that was waiting for her was a sick prank
-maybe that's why Fred is protective of her idk
-"Velma, you sure about this whole, "crime-solving" thing? I mean, remember what happened last time?"
-"Fred, it's always been my life's dream to do this, why is it that now, you're suddenly being unsupportive?"
-"Velma, you sure about this whole, "crime-solving" thing? I mean, remember what happened last time?"
-"Fred, it's always been my life's dream to do this, why is it that now, you're suddenly being unsupportive?"
-and then Fred gets all sad and tries to walk away as Velma tries to apologize but just as he's about to walk away, they stumble upon a clue that finally puts everything together - they don't often meet since at school Velma is kind of an outcast and Fred does a lot of volunteer work and Daphne has SO many extracurriculars - its why shes suprisingly skilled at many things (maybe she and velma bond over being gifted kids) - she's also very social and is good at getting people on her side but she's not like malicious or anything - is just another skill that she can use to get info out of ppl
-oh yeah she's not with her old friend group anymore cuz Fred and Velma helped her see how toxic they were
- Velma sometimes forgets to eat or go outside or sleep since she's so focused in her studies - oh yeah the first time they met Shaggy they thought he was some zombie or something but turns out he's just some weird dude - has the least interest in the supernatural but thought the idea of it sounded like fun - he's actually pretty mysterious and spooky like they never find out his actual real name and even though he says he goes to the same school as them they can never actually find him there - but he's really nice and funny and gives good advice - but he sometimes says something really ominous and he's like "haha, so anyways, I heard they ran out of ham in the sandwich store—"

Cass + ballet 🩰 (ft. supportive siblings and good dad Bruce)
I love the idea of Cass enjoying dance. It's an outlet that allows her to express herself without words, and I think she would enjoy the highly technical aspect of ballet combined with its storytelling and emotional side. and as a former dancer I always have fun imagining my fav characters do ballet :)

According to the artist, when it was suggested that a smile might benefit the look of the finished portrait, Attaché Nohell reportedly replied, "I thought the purpose of this was to be honest."
Super fun commission of @waterloggedsoliloquy's OC Sicely Nohell (they/them) and their terrible, horrible, no good, very bad lusus figure Commanding Officer.

yall should try digital scrapbooking is really fun to do!
anyway, i suppouse this like some kind of redesign for my old vercion of Nari
when i was first sketching him i didn't really know how i wanted him to be, cause mainly i was just doing it for the funsies and also i was mostly more focused on how i wanted Leonidas to look like.
but some time ago i went to this roadtrip whit my familly and a bunch of ideas just came trough my mind, so i had to do something about it.
so basically what's new?
So in short, this Narinder is a narcissistic bastard who only values people for the value they can give him, and is willing to use anything or anyone to get what he want.
so basically nothing changed, tbh i really like og Nari's character!
if i had to describe his personality, it would be a mix between Tai lung and lord shen from kunfu panda and loki from Marvel's MCU.
i'm not the best at storyteling, but I'm trying to take a more serious path for my AU. I really didn't expect to get so attached to these silly characters as much as I do now, to be honest when I was first creating the AU I didn't have so much of a story in mind. But now I have a clearer vision of what I want to do with it and even more motivation to make more of this. It'll still be very silly but i'll try to make the best out of it, and i hope you like it too!
anyway here are some doodles i made for him

Yall, its time to ramble about visual/environmental storytelling cause this is silly article is driving me insane.
Tumblr media
I won't argue for if the game should have had more constant and involved cutscenes like Robobot or Star Allies, but what I will say is that this game is VERY rich in story through the world design. The Forgotten Land as opposed to say the Land of the Sky in TD or the entire galaxy of Star Allies is like, DROWNING in writing and narrative. It builds so much mystery and intrigue through the theming of every world and even individual levels, with exploring both how the people of the land originally lived and how it's being reclaimed by nature and the animals.
I think the closest things maybe is Robobot and Halcandra in RTDL, the former having great little designs that key you into WHAT Haltmann is doing and what makes it so toxic. Halcandra though is the ultimate grand-daddy, the contrast between it and the Lor, and Egg Engines and Dangerous Dinner is full of theming and clues about the nature and history of the planet. AND THAT IS STORY, THAT IS WRITING! Especially when compared to say Star Allies, where most of the levels of the levels are just ye average Kirby themed fluff with little to say about the Jamba or the state they've left the galaxy in. But when you play through the casino levels of Robobot, as well as delightful theming and level design, you see that Haltmann is erecting literally the most predatory entertainment centers imaginable. When you step off the sleek futuristic Lor into the scrapyards and wastes of Halcandra, you get fun intimidating final worlds, and a good grasp on *why* the people who made the Lor aren't around anymore, and may even start questioning why Magolor made such a great fuss of dragging you to this horrible place. Music is also deeply important to this storytelling. Each of the factories/towers erected in ever world of Robobot's theme is a remix usually of themes related to older mechanical levels, subtly clueing you into where Haltmann go their technology from. Outside the Lor rather than the comfortable motif of Green Greens is this almost comically suspicious and disoriented theme once you're stuck on Halcandra and returning to Magolor with more doubts about his words. The final level inside of the volcano house a theme that is teasing the twist to come, and the theme for fighting Landia before the big reveal is less triumphant, and more majestic and pensive. Possibly trying to evoke more hesitance than confidence, even if most people wouldn't catch on to that on a first run.
But the cooler thing, is that while Robobot has this cool theming at key levels, and RtDL does at the end, this type of shit is pervasive ALL throughout Forgotten Land. Every world and nearly every level is a unique, well thought-out set piece! You get to see abandoned towns, cities, malls, stores, factories, resorts, and an amusement park, each which serves as more than just a fun location, but a clear picture of the world and the state its in. This intent is made clearer through the music and tone that goes out of its way to not highlight the destruction of these areas but their beauty, wonder, and mystery through the eyes of an clueless animals and our favorite pink alien. The abandoned Alivel Malls theme is a track as upbeat and peppy as what must've played over it's speakers in it's hayday, because the hustle and bustle breathed back into it by the animals and Kirby just exploring this mysterious complex is just as lively. The theme of the Everbay Coast is peaceful and sunny despite the Holine ruins because it's as part of the scenery to the animals and Kirby as the picturesque palms and sands. And Wondaria!!!!!!!!! OMG WONDARIA WHERE TO EVEN BEGIN WITH EVERY FUCKING LEVEL AND THEME IN WONDARIA!!! THIS IS WHY I CAN'T TAKE THAT CLAIM SERIOUSLY - y'know when I cried at Forgotten Land? In world 3. Not because of a cutscene or a line of dialogue, but just from the sheer emotion the setting evoked in me. The sweet, laid-back, starry-eyed wonder that it expressed from Kirby mixed with my own sense of nostalgia being aware of what that place was, and how beautiful it was to see it rediscovered and adored by Kirby and the animals of the Forgotten Land. It evokes such a strong feeling of bittersweetness, of existential dread comforted by the knowledge that the simple joys and memories we create places like amusement parks to share will continue on as long as there is life in the world. And unlike some of my musings about past games, this was explicitly intentional. What truly brought the tears to my eyes was remembering an interview where the devs were explaining how they were trying to keep the tone light and Kumazaki said specifically they wanted to evoke peace and beauty rather than loss.
Tumblr media
LIKE THIS IS WRITING! This is storytelling, this is intention. It's just subtle, but not at all unimportant, and it ties into the more overarching plot. It raises the question constantly of where the people went that is answered by Forgo, and expresses the dichotomy between the simple innocence of the animals compared to the ambitions of the people who abandoned them and that is now possessing their leader. It creates stakes for Elfilis and Forgo's intentions to destroy everything so beautiful and pure about the current world, but as it absolves the current world of guilt, it puts into perspective JUST HOW LONG Forgo must have been locked away that things changed so much. And as softly as the exploits of the original people are portrayed by the game, knowing their treatment of Eliflis and Forgo as a thing of entertainment and tool for innovation is sickening placed in contrast with it. Like back to Wondaria, the way it shows how much space travel must have pervaded the imagination and escapism of the people either before or after Forgo's arrival is insanely smart. And it gives me chills in the best way seeing Kirby run around images of cartoon aliens from a civilization who would never meet him. Of Kirby, Elfilin, and Bandana sticking their head into a cardboard cutout of an astronaut meeting an alien, with the text "wish you were here" above in a script they don't even understand. A SCRIPT THE WRITERS MADE FOR THIS GAME SO THAT THEY COULD ADD MESSAGES LIKE THAT INTO THE WORLD FOR KEEN PLAYERS TO NOTICE AND MAKE CONNECTIONS. Like it's insane. The dedication the Hal Labs has to stuff like this is maddening! It's so sweet and heartfelt and crafty, I'm so pissed off how little respect it gets because people don't understand visual storytelling!!!!! Saying Forgotten Land is light on story is preposterous, it might just be one of the most finely crafted stories the series has had to date, and is just a really solid piece of science fantasy writing in general honestly. It is packed with environmental storytelling that drives me Up The Fucking Wall, Man.

A Descriptive List of Celtic Fiction Podcasts
Reminiscent of fiction podcasts like TMA, Jack of All Trades etc... If you enjoy anything horror-comedy, general horror or narrative podcasts check these out!
note: Thank you for the reccommendations! I've added them to the list.
Scottish
Middle:Below by Tin Can Audio - A horror-comedy about a fella called Taylor, he can travel inbetween the regular world and the 'middle' realm, and seems to be the only one...until!! He has banter with a charismatic ghost man called Gill and has a pet cat named Sans(?). Good sound quality and fun times.
The McIlwraith Statements by Ghostly Thistle - A monologue narrative about Sarah McIlwraith, recounting her mysterious involvement in the famous 'IPP' study. Dark academia vibes. The narrator has an absolutely lovely voice and accent!
Caledonian Gothic - Descriptive like HFTH, storytelling but the serious tone borderlines silly. If you like I Have Seen Niagara, you might like this! States it's true crime, true stories, but also promises magic and narratives aswell.
Irish
Neighbourly by Matthew O.K Smith - A horror anthology podcast about a creepy neighbourhood and the residents within. Stunnin' narration, with really good stories. I got pretty far in and it uploads every Monday. Great stuff.
The Switchboard by Hog and Dice Productions - A 'daily radio show' horror podcast set in a LIGHTHOUSE. HELL YEAH. It's got some funky sound design and some good stories. Both this and Neighbourly have lovely Dublin accents, and nice stories as usual.
Petrified by Peter Dunne and Liam Geraghty - An award-winning horror anthology podcast with very captivating and realistic dialogue. Unsettling and uneasy feeling it gives me. Main guy Teddy from the 'Dead Air' prologue is defo northern! I want to emphasize the realistic dialogue, it's great. Haven't heard him yet, but this podcast also has CECIL BALDWIN acting in it. Give it a shot!
In Darkness Vast by Hammergrin - A sci-fi podcast with some characters with funky names like Doombuggy, Earthfrank and Nervejump. Wolf 395 vibes, Nervejump is a silly AI lady up to shenanigans. Has some fun voices and sound design. Don't know much about it but it's made in Cork!
The Outside Tapes by Liam Brett and Evan Daly - Classic casette tape horror drama. Alfie Greaves is a journalist investigating a bizarre series of events that are all somehow connected. I love Alfie's voice because he has the same accent and inflection as me so it's very lovely to listen to! He is investigating deaths, so it seems to be a nice mix of Magnus Archives and Death by Dying.
Welsh
Seren by Robin Howell - A short sci-fi about Seren flying through the stars to terraform a new planet. Going by the trailer, it sounds great! Some Cymraeg right off the bat. Great stuff. Gives off some melancholy vibes, and has a funky spaceship AI voice.
Gather the Suspects by MadeUp Audio Productions - A groovy-opening theme mixed with a promising murder mystery. Set in Wales "during a very boring apocalypse". Promises relatable characters, procrastinators, mystery and humour.
This Foul Earth by John Tucker - A comedic, easygoing series (from what ive heard so far) in which everyday Welsh people describe a story they believe deserves to be archived for future generations. Clever writing and good vibes!
as always if youse have anything to add rb and pop it in the tags, these are all very underrated and theyre all quite good and high quality! have a good evening yall

Hi there yall
I felt like I couldn't answer to one message alone because i'd just be thanking you all on repeat and i'd feel disingenuous without trying to come up with something special for every one... so i'm compiling a couple of them here! :
(note that some of these are a little old...oops)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, thank you all!
all of my comics have been really fun to make, i have a natural drive towards creating comics and sharing them with people in the hopes they'll be able to enjoy the shit that goes through my mind as well.
some of the comics i've done, especially the one for srweek were pretty much experimental, a way for me to see how i want to handle comics, storytelling, pacing, consistency and mixing rendering styles and all within the same story-- in the (very near) future, i'd like to start a webcomic series which i've already sterted planning for, so i hope that it can pique the interest of people as well as these comics did :)
hope you all have a great day 💕

hello miss kit! loving all your responses to the asks everyone got such interesting thoughts!! I know you love all your children equally but which gffa au do you love just a bit more than the others? (excluding counselling au lol)
what a hard ask oof
good thing i have a glass of wine and a lot of time on my hands! so i just rated all my fics set in the gffa
(i had a LOT of time on my hands)
a fish hook, an open eye: 7/10 - it's hardly set in the gffa at all tbh i love earnest evil puppy anakin & conniving obi-wan who gets more than he bargained for. needed more cody, tbh a more perfect union: 10/10 - i'm biased obviously cause i just finished this fic so it's fresh on my mind but it was so fun to write! i loved trying to balance the humor and the seriousness and the council scene (both of them!) was just so great amort & amor: 6/10 - i just think anakin would probably not be that cool about obi-wan getting another padawan lol but it's fluffy and cute and i'm glad i wrote it! bed warden, bed warmer: 8/10 - obi-wan would be the worst patient in the history of the world. he's such an asshole which i love writing but he's also so clearly very smitten with anakin. he's just going to be an asshole about it building a boat with no blueprints: 7/10 - i know yall dont know how it ends but i know how it ends ;) burn every bridge but please leave me a boat: 6/10 - my first attempt at reverse master&padawan au which is a dynamic i really love. i would rate this fic higher, but i wish i had started it in a different place and relied less on mental flashbacks but a number: 9/10 - happy almost one year to this fic! i had to get someone to cheer-read this fic for me because i was worried that i was being too hard on aging/obi-wan's body falling apart and anakin feeling old and tired at age 40 but then i saw a bunch of gifs of obi-wan jumping off stuff and i was like yeah his body probably does feel like it's falling apart foolproof, foolhardy: 10/10 - i literally have not has so much fun with a cliffhanger since i last updated time & tide. no notes, just stupid oblivious padawan obi-wan trying to seduce master skywalker into his bed, unaware that master skywalker would crawl over burning coals to kiss his hand. hand in unlovable hand: 6/10 - not my favorite adaptation from tumblr fic to ao3 fic - i used too much of the original ficlet and always feels clunky to me. i do like sith vader manipulating obi-wan into falling!! yes baby, you twist and ruin that jedi master and make him yours haunt me then: 8/10 - i love non-sequential storytelling and also padmé loving anakin so much that she sacrifices a child to bring him back only for him to come back solely to live and breathe for obi-wan hold me fast or kill me quick: 3/10 - would be a higher rating but this fic haunts me. i want to finish her someday and until i do i will not rest peacefully at night. get these stupid soulmates to communicate! i pray the same, but my gods have changed: 10/10 - i love writing this fic, i love watching the polls as you guys vote for what should happen next, i love catty sith obi-wan working to seduce senator skywalker because he's hot lol but it's the voting aspect that makes this fic a 10/10 for me if you love me, let it remain unnamed: 9/10 - it surprised me how much i loved writing set as an actual character. one day i want to explore the universe that set's in, where he meets his own kenobi and falls in love with him. i really liked the outsider perspective on how absolutely wild obi-wan and anakin are - especially since the main scenario is that they're having a threesome, and obi-wan and anakin have to?? share?? each other? with someone else? unlikely! let’s get your fingers tangled in my hair: 6/10 - i wrote this in a fever state; it was fun and i enjoy a king kenobi as much as the next gal! do i actually think anakin could last that long without talking? no not the way i usually write him lol like saints, like monsters: 8/10 - i love the way the chapters are set up, with them going back and forth between the actual plot and the worst parts and darkest moments of the recovery lost to a sea of troubles: 7/10 - it will never not be funny to me that this fic is in response to the prompt "knocking on the wrong door". it could have been anythinggg. it became this instead, featuring light stockholm syndrome and an obessive, evil obi-wan

Anthropology Legacy Challenge
An Anthropology Legacy Challenge
By: Just.Simlish.Things
This mini legacy challenge is based on the study of Anthropology. According to Merriam-Webster, Anthropology is (1) the science of human beings especially : the study of human beings and their ancestors through time and space and in relation to physical character, environmental and social relations, and culture. (2) theology dealing with the origin, nature, and destiny of human beings.
As someone who is interested in human behavior and pursued a degree in Psychology, but dropped out cause college is hard… Anywho, I created this challenge originally for myself because I wanted to test myself as a storyteller. I wanted to see what I would choose and how I would write it based on my own belief systems and environment (a little about me, I’m a Christian, and I try to write my stories based around teachings of Jesus without it coming off as ‘preachy’ cause even I don’t like that). This challenge is meant to see how people from different walks of life, culture, beliefs, etc. would react when faced with two options. Well, your sims, actually. There’s going to be minimal rules because I want you to have full reign of the writing process. I’ll provide the prompt and you take it from there. An optional component: make a post at the end of each generation, explaining why you chose what you chose. I would also love to see what yall do with this challenge so if you end up doing it, tag me @just.simlish.things on Instagram. If you would also like to see this challenge, message me about it because I’m only doing it for my close friends, so I’ll add you if you want to see it.
Generation 1: Love or Obligation?
Prompt: Create a scenario that involves these two opposing themes. An example of this could be where person A is constantly working because they need the money but they love person B a lot, but their relationship is rocky because of the job. Person A then has to choose between their job (obligation) or person B (the person they love).
If you choose love: The heir has a happy childhood up until highschool.
If you choose obligation: The heir has an unhappy childhood up until highschool.
Generation 2:  Fame or Lawlessness?
Prompt: Based on your choice from the previous generation, decide which path they will pursue in highschool. If you choose fame: The heir has a good reputation, until they’re caught in a scandal. If you choose lawlessness: The heir is a high profile criminal until they’re finally caught. Based on any trait that your sim has, choose one, decide how they will handle their downfall. Will they come out on top or accept defeat? Whichever you choose, will be the reputation that the next generation will start with.
Generation 3: In their shadow
Prompt: The start of this generation requires the heir to be in hiding until young adulthood. Someone from their parents' past notices them and starts treating them like their parents. Do you choose to be defined by your parents choices, or make a name for yourself?
Generation 4: Solitude or Community?
Prompt: You contemplate your family origins and you decide whether to let the bloodline end with you, or do you start a family knowing that this cycle could continue again.
I want you to have fun with this challenge. Explore different ideas and use your own thoughts, opinions, upbringing and whatnot to really flesh out each generation. I can't wait to see what story you tell.
