Dark Days

The 2020 U.S. Presidential Election was the most contentious and corrupt election in the history of America (it has been reported that almost 80% of Republicans, about 30% of Independents, and 17% of Democrats believe there was fraud).

The shadow government and globalist elite have used an illegal election to replace a president that wanted to put America first with a president that will push world government, and these people are now closer to their long-cherished goal of a one-world government, economy, and godless global religion than they have ever been.

In my last article, I reported that Dr. James Dobson said the Republican loss of the two Senate Seats in Georgia will lead to the loss of “government of the people, by the people and for the people” because the Democrats will add more Senate Seats (Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico) and more judges to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Republicans lost both seats, so if Dr. Dobson is right, the election fraud has cost America “government of the people, by the people and for the people.”

The shadow government and globalist elite have gained control of every branch of U.S. government through the Democrat Party, and there will be no way to stop the surrender of U.S. sovereignty.

Demonic forces have taken over America, and our nation will never recover.

Faithful students that study Bible prophecy on a regular basis are not surprised: We have long taught that the Bible prophesies the following:

the nation of Israel will be re-established (it has),

the Church will grow lukewarm (it is),

there will be global pandemics (worse than Covid),

persecution of Christians (lockdowns, pastors arrested, churches fined),

global economic problems (trillion-dollar stimulus packages, the economy of many nations near collapse),

global famine (unemployment and hunger are spreading),

gross immorality and abominations to God (abortion, LGBTQ, etc.),

deceit will increase (censorship, lying, etc.),

the technology to track all buying and selling (coming on the scene now),

the elimination of cash (digital currencies are now going into use),

the arrival of 10 kings in the world (this could be approved at “The Great Reset” soon),

that the U.S. must decline (this appears to be happening now),

a world government (Biden plans to push it),

an antichrist religion (Democrats have removed God from their party platform), etc.

This is a spiritual war; America is no longer a Christian nation; Biden and Harris have indicated that they will greenlight globalization, rejoin the World Health Organization, push the Green New Deal, open America’s borders, and more.

Fraud has turned America into a one-party nation; voting was worthless; fear, frustration and concern are spreading; many pastors are silent; their church members are like sheep without shepherds in front of a pack of wolves; it is not an easy time for Christians and patriots; this is probably America’s last stand; citizens are upset; and there is a lot of uncertainty about what the future holds for us, our children, our grandchildren, etc.

This has prompted me to offer these thoughts:

God is not surprised, He is still in control, the Church has been told to watch for these things, prophecy is being fulfilled, and these things indicate that this present generation could be the terminal generation (Matt. 24:32-34).

Jan Markell said, “Things are not falling apart; things are falling in place,” and Rev. J.D. Farag said, “God isn’t trying to make you happy. God is trying to get you ready.”

This world is not the Christian’s hope or home; the Christian’s hope is not an anti-Christ world government, corrupt politicians, politically motivated judges and courts, or anything except the Rapture of the Church (John 11:11; Titus 2:13).

The purpose of the Rapture is to give Christians knowledge and comfort about their future and that of their deceased loved ones (I Thess. 4:13-18).

Christians are not alone (John 14:16).

The Gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church (Matt. 6:18).

Nothing can separate Christians from the love of God (Rom. 8:38-39).

Christians should set their affections on heaven, stand firm, live by the Word of God, keep the Judgment Seat of Christ in mind, and know that our sins will find us out (Col. 3:2; Matt. 4:4; II Cor. 5:10; Num. 32:23).

A lukewarm attitude, the silence of pastors, and Church members that know very little Scripture signify the end of the age (Rev. 3:15-18).

People who are not saved should quickly and sincerely put their faith in Jesus (not baptism or joining a church) for the forgiveness of their sins (Prov. 3:5-7; John 3:16; 14:6).

Christians should love others, do good works, attend Church, get the gospel out (to everyone, but especially to their family), pray often, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and more (Heb. 10:24-25; Mark 16:15; Psa. 122;6).

Christians should watch the signs and pray that God will consider them worthy to be Raptured before the Tribulation Period arrives (Luke 21:36).

Know that God raises up leaders and God brings down leaders. He had a reason for putting Trump in office, He has a reason for removing Trump, and a reason for putting Biden in office. I tend to believe God is ready to let world government advance, and Trump would have been in the way.

God’s prophecies must be fulfilled, and good will come from every situation (Rev. 1:1; Rom. 8:28).

Here are more of my thoughts along a different line:

On Jan. 6, 2021, an angry mob stormed and breached the U.S. Capitol building, and tragically, 1 person was killed almost immediately, several others died, several police were injured, and there was property damage.

Politicians and pundits immediately blamed Trump, but Congress, the FBI, CIA, the Media, and the U.S. Supreme Court must share the blame (also there have been reports that Antifa and Black Lives Matter were among the protesters and responsible for some of the violence; On Jan. 7, it was reported that 2 members of Antifa had already been identified by facial recognition technology. Some officials deny it, but they proved untruthful in the Russian Collusion hoax).

Barack Obama and Chuck Schumer have boasted that they will fundamentally change America, and they have been involved.

The House tried to dump Trump for 4 years, falsely accused him, impeached him for nothing, and ignored the crimes of the Bidens and Clintons.

The FBI, CIA and others lied and falsely prosecuted people because they wanted to dump Trump, and little to nothing has been done.

A Special Prosecutor was appointed to investigate the Clintons and the Russian Collusion hoax, and the public has been promised a report for years, but it has never been released, and it will probably be covered up.

Politicians, the Media, and some police claim that we are a nation of laws, but they have ignored 4 years of Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioting, looting, burning, injuring people, and attacking the police.

Despite overwhelming evidence of voter fraud, judges have refused to hear the evidence, the U.S. Supreme Court has done nothing, and some people think violence is the only answer (God is the only answer).

Pundits immediately started saying “we must come together,” but it will not happen because the left’s definition of “coming together” is that the right must totally submit. The left will never agree to restrictions on abortion, sexual perversion, drug abuse, etc. (Rev. 9:20-21), and true Christians will not totally surrender.

Simply put, violence is wrong, but Washington is corrupt and broken; frustration started building before Trump ran for President. Millions of people do not want mob rule, one-party rule, their voice to go unheard, to open America’s borders, to surrender America’s sovereignty, to let unsaved diplomats at the UN tell the U.S. what laws we have to pass, different voting rules for different people, the crimes of the Clintons and Bidens ignored, the police attacked, the police defunded, and judges that ignore the law and rule in favor of their own political party.

It saddens me to say it, but I do not believe Congress will listen. According to Bible prophecy, abortion, perversion, drug abuse, and globalism will explode; freedom of speech and freedom of religion will decline; persecution of believers and anti-Semitism will increase; violence will increase; there will be no revival in the Church; and God will soon send the Tribulation Period to deal with godless government in America and the world.

On the other hand, I rejoice to say that God is listening to the grievances of His people. The world is dark, but light is coming, and these tragic events are reasons for hope (I Thess. 5:4-9).

The Christian’s future is glorious, and the nearness of world government and the Tribulation Period implies that the Rapture of the Church is close.

I don’t know how to define close, but I honestly believe the appointment of 10 people to rule over a world government in the next 4 years is a distinct possibility.

Here are some more stories that made the news:

One, concerning false accusers, Democrats praised and bailed out rioters, looters, and arsonists in some cities, but on Jan. 7, 2021, Biden called those that stormed the capitol “rioters, insurrectionists and domestic terrorists.”

Some reports said hundreds of thousands of people attended the March to Save America, and about 40-50,000 went to the capitol.

Thus, most of those that went to Washington were not involved in the violence.

Violence is wrong, and if the Democrats want to “come together,” they should recognize that most of those that went to Washington have legitimate grievances that must be addressed and admit the truth about the involvement of Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

Sadly, there is every reason to believe that hypocrisy, lying and deceit will prevail.

Two, one TV commentator said the reason Pelosi, Schumer, Ilhan Omar and others want to remove Trump from office with less than 2 weeks to go is because removal from office will disqualify him from running for President 4 years from now.

They obviously do not know that they have no control over who will run for President 4 years from now because God raises up our leaders.

As I see it, the President of the U.S. could very well be one of the Ten Kings under the rule of the Antichrist 4 years from now (I am not setting a date for the Rapture).

Incidentally, saying the election was stolen is not an impeachable offense.

Three, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog, on Jan. 4, 2021, Iran announced that it is now enriching uranium to 20%.

Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu said Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons, and Israel will not let them do it.

I have been saying it for a long time, but the latter days, latter years Battle of Gog and Magog could be close (Ezek. 38:8, 16).

Four, on Jan. 6, 2021, Rev. Franklin Graham said, “We (America) are in trouble. I believe God’s judgment is coming, for the sins of our nation are great, and they are a stench in the nostrils of our Creator.”

Five, concerning famine, on Jan. 7, 2021, Bloomberg reported that global food prices hit a 6-year high in Dec. 2020, and they are likely to go higher in 2021.

The higher cost of food is expected to increase inflation.

Six, the place that is believed to be the site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus is in an area between Israel and Jordan that was designated a war zone more than 50 years ago.

Land mines were laid in the area, and people were warned to stay away.

Two years ago, Israel started removing the landmines, and the area has now been declared safe.

On Jan. 10, 2021, it was reported that a group toured the area and held a baptism ceremony there.

Seven, concerning the censorship of Trump, and Christian and conservative websites, on Jan. 10, 2021, it was reported that Biden has at least 14 current or former executives of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, and Twitter ready to serve in his administration or advising his transition team.

In my opinion, one of the primary reasons for censorship is to silence anyone that opposes the surrender of America’s sovereignty to a world government.

Eight, on Jan. 10, 2021, it was reported that a post on Biden’s website says he has plans to defeat the NRA and “end our epidemic of gun violence.”

There are not a lot of specifics, but the NRA is saying Biden will make “a concerted attack on the rights of gun owners.

Finally, God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

sometimes it’s hard to believe how good and strong Noah was. i’m only following Jesus for like 4 months - and even though He has empowered me already to do incredibly hard things which i would have never done without Him - it’s just both devastating and inspiring to think of the fact that Noah spent _a hundred and twenty years_ preaching to the wicked people around him that God’s wrath will come but that He is merciful and offers safety and salvation for everyone who would stop being wicked and walk with their Creator.

all the people around him thought Noah was a crazy lunatic and paranoid (just like believers in Jesus and the End Times are being mocked as conspiracy theorists, tragic how it’s... exactly the same..) and they sure mocked him and laughed at his diligent effort to build a wooden boat that was _half_ the size of our modern-day Queen Mary II (which can transport over 3000 people) .. Noah lived in a desperately wicked society and nobody would listen to him but he just kept following God’s instructions and had faith in Him for decades & decades until the cup of iniquity was abundantly overflowing in the eyes of God and when the flood was emerging, Noah should enter the Ark with his family and all the animals and God sealed it.

when the people realized that they are going to surely drown in the massive amounts of water, they came running and begging Noah to open the Ark and that they now are ready to return to God, but Noah told them that he was trying to save them for 120 years and that they would not listen & would just continue to be wicked day and night, and that now it’s too late and that they will all die.

somehow i am “glad” that i don’t have to preach Jesus for 120 years, but only a fragment of that, because even though i am getting more brave and open with Him (all thanks to His own works in my heart, praise the Lord), it is just so very disheartening ... people literally hate you & look down on you, or they just don’t care because “God’s word is not my way” and think they will be okay, or they say “well, i am agnostic, but it’s nice that your faith helps you” and your list of people that you are praying for gets longer and longer and you cry bitter tears for them, and you know they will experience God’s wrath and die, and there is no second chance for salvation and eternal life ever again.

when you study the Bible, you soon notice that everything happens in a pattern because God is truly a mastermind, He never ever changes and He keeps every single promise that He made. He not only planned and prophesied everything major that ever happened in human history and everything that will happen until the End of this wicked timeline (and for the followers of Jesus the beginning of the world how it was _supposed_ to be before Adam & Eve decided they want to rather listen to Satan and be their own gods), but also He has the glory and power to make it happen _exactly_ like He said He would. it’s just... wow!

in the beginning of my walk with God and Jesus, i was honestly somewhat uneased because a) i knew that this world is 100% fake - but b) i wasn’t all too grounded in Scripture to really know what is going to happen because 95% of all Christians are _not_ grounded in Scripture themselves, and they believe in theories about the End Times that have been purposefully generated to deceive the majority (which sadly worked) and they spread their beliefs around (which as a babe in Christ will just not help you) - but when you realize that everything the Bible tells is entirely true, there’s a spirit of unrest upon you and as if time is running but you don’t know how to prepare. you just know _something_ is going to happen and it’s entirely irrelevant if you personally believe it will happen or not, it will 100% happen because God said so.

i’ve prayed and prayed and prayed for Truth and God led me towards the only path that, concerning the End Times, is the correct one, and i’ve studied and studied and now i can finally say i know what is going to happen (i’m also quite sure when it is going to happen but i am still praying about it for more revelation) and now i am very certain that yes, my unrest was indeed valid, but at least i can focus on praying for strength, courage and an unbreakable faith in Jesus now because true followers of Him (and not followers of dead Christian institutional church religion) that won’t bow down to the Antichrist Beast System will be 100% persecuted and in the worst case executed like back in the Dark Ages.

sometimes i cry because i know it’s going to be the hardest thing ever, but when you are born-again and _know_ in your heart that Jesus died for you in the most cruel and undignified way possible and when you feel His love rushing through you and you just weep uncontrollably because you can’t possibly hold this deep emotion, there is literally not a single thing in this world that you would not want to endure for Him. i would rather be beheaded than to deny the Son of God and exactly this is the reason why all of the 12 apostles of Jesus were killed in the most horrible ways (crucified upside down, beheaded, stoned, burned alive, etc.) - because they would rather die for Jesus than to bow down to anyone else or deny Him and the Gospel of salvation because when you _know_ it’s true there’s just _nothing_ in this world that could make you be so foolish.

long story short: Noah was an amazing man of God but he probably had the most unsuccessful ministry of all people ever. not a single soul was saved apart from his own family. how sad is that.

oh jesus do i have to talk about politics at 2am? ok lol. this isn’t gonna be super coherent so don’t reblog it thx.

i’d prefer to do this off anon but w/e

so bear in mind i don’t identify as asxual or aromantic, but i have in the past, and i definitely still fit the bill. i just don’t choose to identify with the label.

asexuals don’t really have any shared history with the lgbt community, and have historically not been involved in activism because historically they have not been persecuted. the asexual movement only really appeared in the 2000′s. i don’t think aphobia is comparable to homophobia or transphobia in any way and if we’re gonna have useful discussions about this i think we have to acknowledge that first. things like asexual versions of the pink triangle that say “stop killing us” are downright insensitive.

aphobia as i’ve seen it described is not a systemic problem, more like a series of microagrssions that are pretty much always reflections of misogyny and sometimes homophobia rather than ideology specifically targeting asexuals. there are no laws on the books promoting forced sex, no right wing politicians or talk show hosts raising hell about how celibacy is inhuman and disgusting. this is why i don’t think asexuals should call themselves “queer” but that’s a larger conversation.

that said, i do think there’s a case to be made here. i don’t think asexuals experience any kind of large scale oppression at all, but i think asexuals are uniquely impacted by heteronormativity and misogyny. like everyone is expected to be in straight relationships, many straight partners will want sex to be part of a relationship, and forced marriages are still a thing in a lot of parts of the world. but i still think that if you’re asexual and straight or “heteromantic” or what fucking ever you wanna call it, i frankly don’t see how you belong in the lgbt community, because we really have nothing in common. you’re never going to directly experience homophobia, biphobia, or transphobia.

also, it’s worth mentioning that there is kind of a toxic environment online toward asexuals, but it’s not without its rationale. the aexual and aromantic communities are full of unchecked homophobia (because surprise surprise a lot of yall are straight). and asexual inclusionist spaces can sometimes be harmful to questioning lgbt people, who end up confused and scared throughout their formative years because as soon as they start questioning they’re encouraged to pick out a laundry list of labels like “i don’t like men, but that doesn’t mean i’m a lesbian! i must be a heteromantic grey-asexual nu-queer” etc etc. again, this is a larger topic but most inclusionists are also part of the mogai-type crowd so it bears mentioning.

the asexual label is often offered up to people in good faith, but many people who identify as asexual do it because they’re dealing with trauma in unhealthy ways, because they’re young and don’t have a sex drive anyway, or because they’re in denial about their real identities.

which brings me to my final point. i guess. i’m gonna retroactively pretend like i’m writing a coherent essay.

asexuality is so loosely defined that it pretty much captures every human interaction with sexuality. i’ve seen phrases like “hypersexual ace” thrown around. i’ve seen people claim that you can actively want, seek out, have, and enjoy sex, and still be asexual. demisexual is even more broadly defined. i think if some yall ever had deep conversations with “allosexuals” (especially adult and female ones) about sexual and romantic feelings, you would realize that demisexual is literally the norm for most people outside of frat houses and strip clubs. what some people call demisexual or even asexual, most people wouldn’t call it anything.

this leads to a situation where the asexual label is often misused, by well meaning people who give bad advice, by straight people who want an excuse to feel special and say “queer,” and by people who it doesn’t really apply to.

asexuality is a real thing. many people are 100% asexual and they are happy that way, and sometimes society treats them unfairly by expecting them to conform to heteronormative ideals. i’m not denying that. but this is does not constitute the kind of specific, target oppression that lgbt people face. straight cis asexuals don’t belong in the lgbt community because they have nothing in common with lgbt people. and lgbt organizations have no obligation to help or accept straight people.

asexual identity and asexual pride are fine, and academically, we can talk about these things alongside lgbt identity wrt analysis of sexual orientation and gender identity. but i think from a political perspective, they’re pretty different for a lot of reasons and should stay separate.

Topic: PRAYER LIFE IS A WARFARE - COME ON, LET US WRESTLE!

Rhema Word: Matthew 26:41(NKJV) ”Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Let’s pray. Our Gracious Loving Father, thank you for giving us an opportunity to meditate your Word today. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for helping us to understand your Words which are living and active. Please help us to live a life as per your Word Lord. Father, we give all the Glory and Honour to you. We pray in the mighty Name of your beloved Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer life is a warfare. Unless we are watchful, we can never become prayer warriors. Prayer pulls down the stronghold of the devil. Satan might be silent at whatever else you do but not when you pray. A prayerless life does not affect him. Even prayerless ministry does not bother him. Prayer warriors only can route the devil. Satan’s army will tremble when they find even the weakest saint on his knees. Satan gathers his emissaries and attacks the praying man. Only praying people knew the fierceness of devil.

Remember, failure in life is due to the failure in prayer. One who has lost his/her prayer life has lost on all fronts. This is the reason for the saint’s slogan – “Prayer is the vital breath of life. Prayer is victory”. Our prayer closet is the armoury of our weapons. Hence, it becomes the target of our enemy. Much protection is needed here. This is the reason why the Bible speaks of watchfulness every time it speaks of prayer. Watching and praying are inseparable.

Our Lord Jesus repeatedly warned his disciples to watch and pray so that they would not enter into temptation. When He was praying in Gethsemane, we see this warning in Matthew 26:38-41 “Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

While counselling Ephesians, Paul tells in Ephesians 6:18 ”Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Steadfastness and watchfulness are the main pillars of a prayer life. Peter faced failure owing to his lack of watchfulness. Out of his own experience, he warns us in 1 Peters 4:7 ” But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.” Sober-mindedness and watchfulness are the two eyes of a prayer life. Many are the arrows that Satan aims at our prayer life.

Let us try to understand few of such arrows that Satan aims at our prayer life and let us try to pre-empt such arrows with the help of our Holy Spirit, today:

The moment you begin to pray, Satan will instigate many against you. People will discourage you in different ways. People will not understand your thirst for prayer. Your prayers might look strange to them. Many will mock at you. There will be no appreciation. Your heart might faint at this all-round opposition. Eventually your enthusiasm will die out. Recognise this as the plot of the devil and be watchful.

Nehemiah stood up to build the broken walls of Jerusalem. Trusting God, he began construction. What happened immediately? Sanballat and Tobiah rose up in anger. They ridiculed Nehemiah which is recorded in Nehemiah 4:1-3 ”But it so happened, when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they fortify themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?” Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall.” Nehemiah and his friends were not cowed down by these words of mockery. They understood that they were trying to undermine their efforts by mockery. They prayed to the Lord to hear their despising and continued in watchful prayer.

Yes, those who doubt the power of prayer shall despise you. Their negative comments such as ”Why do you waste your time in prayer? This is the time for action. Prayer is the lazy man’s excuse. Let us see how far it goes”, will weaken your faith. This is the time to be watchful. Do not mind despising! It is human tendency to lean on active work rather than on prayer. Flesh loathes prayer.

Follow the example of David who gave himself to prayer when enemies compassed him with words of hatred (Psalm 109:4). Pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. Do not lose the spirit of prayer in your attempt to reply to them. Your prayer in secret shall bring open rewards. Be patient until then. You are the disciples of the ONE who prayed for His despisers even at the cross!

2] Discouragement From Within:

You may tolerate the discouragements from outside but it will be difficult to overcome the discouragements from within. The enemy of your prayer life will attack you from within. By creating doubts he will try to wear you out. Doubts, weariness and discouragements are the main weapons of the devil. Many are the victims of these weapons. Thoughts such as – “You cannot continue praying. It is not that easy. Prayer is a gift given to the chosen few, you don’t have that gift” – will weaken your praying spirit. Remember these are the devil’s devices.

Satan used this technique with Nehemiah. We read in Nehemiah 4:10 ” Then Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is failing, and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall.” This negative news could not dishearten Nehemiah.

No, a disheartened man cannot pray. The Lord knows that you cannot pray. He knows well that your flesh is weak. That is why He poured on us the Spirit of grace and supplications (Zech 12:10). He is with us to help us in our infirmities. Paul says this in Romans 8:26 ”Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Elijah was a great prayer warrior. James reminds us that Elijah was also a man of like passions as we are. Prayer is a ministry which even ordinary people ought to do. In their early days, Apostles were failing in prayer miserably but later they became stalwarts giving half of their time to prayer and the rest to their ministry.

It does not require any special gift to pray for an hour or two. This is a ministry which even people without gifts and talents can do. The command to pray without ceasing was given to common believers. Resist all negative thoughts with the thoughts of God, like, ” the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (Romans 5:5), “if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness” (Romans 10:8), “the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Romans 8:26), etc., Have you failed in your repeated decisions of prayer? Let not your past failures deprive you of the present victories!

The disciples who drew a blank at Gethsemane did not stop praying. Did they not wait at the feet of the Lord for ten days immediately thereafter? Be not disheartened! Don’t say that you cannot! He gives strength to the weak. He gives power to the weak and to those who have not might, He increases strength (Isaiah 40:29). When men fell down, do they not get up? When a man turns away, does he not return? Get up! Return! Be of good courage! Do not give place to the devil’s discouragements.

3] Dullness and Drowsiness:

The spirit of dullness destroys prayer. Do you fall asleep the moment you kneel down? Do you start yawning? These are the tricks of the devil. He did not spare even the close prayer partners of Jesus. Even at the Mount of transfiguration they were sleepy. As Jesus prayed, His countenance changed and His face was white and glistening. And, behold there talked with Him two men, Moses and Elijah. Look at what friends were doing! Apostle Luke records this in Luke 9:32 ”Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him.”

In His hour of prayer, Jesus experienced glory! The disciples were asleep. They slumbered kneeling. Peter was baffled as he did not hear the conversation. Many pray like Peter prayed. People as busy as ants start snoring the moment they kneel. Lips might be moving whereas the mind would be asleep. Dullness makes you fall asleep. There is no depth in such prayers. It is a tragedy! Those who slept at the Mount of transfiguration slept at Gethsemane also. But look at Jesus! He slept in the midst of the stormy wind and raging waves which almost capsized the boat not at the hour of prayer! Even when exhausted, He went up the mountains to pray. How was this? He was watchful. He was diligent in prayer. He knew pretty well that the flesh is weak while the spirit is willing and thus overcame.

Prayer warriors choose to confess that the spirit is willing rather than confessing that flesh is weak. Pray the Lord to fill you with a willing spirit. Choose the best time for prayer. If you are very tired, choose the rest for a while and then pray rather than praying half-heartedly. If you plan to pray at night, take a nap during day time. Keep your heart and mind clear.

Luke says that the disciples slept at Gethsemane because of sorrow (Luke 22:45). Mental worries cause sleep at times. Worldly cares are enemies of prayer. Do not confuse yourself for no reason. Worries make your heart heavy. A worried man stops praying and a praying man stops worrying. Jesus has warned us of such enemies of prayer. Jesus said in Luke 21:34, 36 ”Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap…Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

To watch and pray, you have to be careful about gluttony and the cares of the world. Yes, one who eats beyond limits cannot pray. Many times, we do not feel fresh in the presence of the Lord because of over-eating. Our body, soul and spirit need to co-operate for effective prayer. Our prayer time will not be sweet even if any one of these three do not co-operate. You will become sleepy if you eat excessively. Similarly, insufficient food too will weaken your body and force you to sleep. Beware of this!

Those who indulge in revelries will also feel sleepy during prayer. People engrossed in the sensual pleasure cannot enjoy prayer. Greed for wealth is another intoxicant. Generally speaking, drowsiness is the result of disinterest in prayer. Paul says in Romans 13:13 ”Let us walk honestly as in the day, not in rioting and drunkenness, not in lewdness and wantonness, not in strife and envying.” These are the work of darkness. But we are not of darkness. Only those who refrain from these things will be alert in prayer. I hope you have understood my point here. So beware!

The enemies planned to ambush Nehemiah and his men. Of this Nehemiah says in Nehemiah 4:11 ”And our adversaries said, “They will neither know nor see anything, till we come into their midst and kill them and cause the work to cease.” Beware of these spirits that come unnoticed while we pray.

Let us find out from Nehemiah how he overcome this situation. Nehemiah 4:13 ”Therefore, I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall, at the openings; and I set the people according to their families, with their swords, their spears, and their bows.” They guarded the city at night and laboured during the day. Be watchful and rise! Accustom yourself to rise of your own accord. Isaiah laments in Isaiah 64:7 ”And there is no one who calls on Your name, Who stirs himself up to take hold of You.” Will you watch and pray from today onwards?

4] Wandering Thoughts:

Do you suffer from wandering thoughts? Are your thoughts distracted in prayer? Do you go all around the world in an hour of prayer? Prayers of this kind lose their effectiveness. While praying, you will begin to hear many voices. Half-done duties, things that require your attention, cares of this life, cares of the flesh and distresses in life will storm your mind and distract your prayer. These are the devil’s missiles. A few minutes of concentrated prayer avails more than many hours of shallow sleepy prayers.

Young men suffer from filthy thoughts while praying. These thoughts come not to defile you but to put out your prayer fire. Don’t stop the moment your thoughts are scattered. Drive out this uninvited guest! It is wiser to close the door than to attempt to drive out the dog that is already in! Gird up your mind and thoughts.

These days the devil aims at the thought realm of the believers. Many have failed in their Christian life as they entertained unhealthy thoughts. Granting liberty to your mind during the day and trying to bridle it at the time of prayer is rather a difficult task. Guard your thoughts throughout the day. Yes, it is His first commandment that we love Him with all our mind (Luke 10:27).

If you want to be a prayer warrior, learn to control your thoughts. Our thoughts and God’s thoughts are contrary to each other. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so as His thoughts higher than ours. Unbelievers’ thoughts are evil. God gave them up to a debased mind. When we come to the Lord, we hear His loving voice, as Isaiah says in Isaiah 55:7 ” Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

When we turn to God, our thoughts also turn to Him. Now the devil will try his best to divert our thoughts from God. Even Paul and the apostles were not safe! We cannot control our thoughts by our physical strength. We can subdue them only through the armour of God. Paul puts it succinctly in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 ”For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” Does he not tell us that this victory wrought through spirit-filled prayer? We need to surrender our thoughts every day to the Holy Spirit to renew our mind (Romans 12:1,2).

A man of God said that it would be difficult to pray in the Spirit while living according to the flesh. What a great truth is this! Paul says this in Romans 8:5 ”For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Remember, our daily deeds will affect our thoughts. When we are under the Spirit’s control, we will not be subject to the flesh. Then you will find your thoughts turning gradually to God. Our efforts and practice are necessary to keep our thoughts under control. Paul advises young Timothy to ”exercise unto Godliness” (1 Timothy 4:7).

Another important thing is, please avoid listening to disturbing news. Vail tales fill you with vain thoughts. Unholy conversations and obscene books are bound to stain your thoughts. David, the prayer warrior says in Psalms 131:1,2 ”Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. Surely, I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” Yes, God has given you the spirit of a sound mind. Do not disturb it! Don’t show undue interest in others’ matters that may unsettle your minds!

Do not love anything or anybody beyond limit. They will grip your thoughts. Let Christ be the centre of attraction of your thoughts. Jesus said in Matthew 6:21 ”For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Praying loudly might help you to concentrate. Let your ears hear your prayer. Let your voice overcome all other voices. Bartimaeus found this by experience. He heard that Jesus passed by that place. He cried out, ”Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Luke 18:38). Many charged to hold his peace. But he cried louder than before. His voice subdued all other noises. Jesus had mercy on him. He stood still and healed him. Your prayer should overcome all distracting thoughts that come against you. So, gird up the loins of your heart, be alert and be careful to pray.

5] Too Much Work:

Now we hear everywhere, there is too much work and too little time for prayer. This is the screaming of those ensnared by the devil. Loading you with excessive work is his tactic. The Israelites demanded Pharoah to let them to go to wilderness to worship God. What did Pharaoh do? He said in Exodus 5:8-9 ”They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.” Have you noticed? The moment you start praying much work will come upon you. The workload will prevent you from praying. Do not give up your decision to pray!

There will be no blessing in the work you do, by robbing God’s time. None should suffer from such work load that they have not time for prayer. Remember, one who accepts unwanted work complains of lack of time for prayer. Who had more work than Jesus? None of us is surrounded by multitudes as Jesus was. So many people were coming and going that they scarcely had time to eat and rest. Thousands jostled with one another just to touch Him. Even amidst all these busy schedules He spent time with the Father. He met all the needs of the multitudes; He even embraced and blessed children how he could find time for all these things.

When we satisfy God we can fulfil all things satisfactorily. Study Jesus’ prayer timings. When there was a great demand on Him, He withdraw for prayer. People were seeking Him but He was seeking the face of His Father. When adversaries were plotting to murder Him, He was closeted with God. Indeed, His countless responsibilities could not steal His prayer times.

I cite here an example. One evening Jesus went up the mountain to pray. Only a little time before He had fed five thousand with only five loaves and two fishes. He commanded the disciples to reach the other shore fast and climbed up the mountain. Perhaps it was to disturb His prayer that the storm started raging against the disciples’ ship. Jesus learnt this in the evening. The disciples toiled all night. Jesus spent His time with the Father leaving them to manage as best they could. Consider the scene for a while. He is responsible for the safety of the disciples. His very presence would have given them courage and determination. But He gives priority to His fellowship with God!

What an important lesson to learn! Do you guard your prayer time like this? Do you lose your prayer time presuming nothing will go right without you? Do you confuse yourself by taking up the assignments which others also could do? It is possible that there could be minor losses because you did not get involved in them. But there can be substantial losses when you miss your prayer time.

Remember the Ephesus Church which laboured for the Lord and did not grow weary at all. This church excelled in strength and wisdom. But it was so busy with God’s work and left God out! Please save yourself from this deception. This is a dangerous situation. Do not despise God’s warning – Revelation 2:4-5 ”you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.” Do not come to the stage of losing your light; When God’s work is not to interfere in your prayer, how much more we need to be cautious about secular works! Do not be deceived!

Let us come again to the example. Jesus was praying on the mountain side. The disciples tried their best till the fourth watch and became weary. Jesus started towards the disciples in distress. He was in prayer till three in the morning and after this came walking on the sea to His disciples. He said, ’Be of good cheer”. And the ship reached the shore. Now let me ask a question. What the resultant loss of His prayer? Did the boat capsize? No! Have you ever heard anybody say that they suffered loss because they prayed? Many are the reports of loss on account of failure to pray.

Remember, our Lord shall see that praying people are not disappointed. Jesus walked upon the water by divine strength. Things become harder when you do not pray. Nothing got delayed because Jesus prayed. The disciples could have thought that Jesus was late but He was in time! The praying man is the present help in trouble. He will not shirk his work!

Daniel was a man of prayer. He excelled in his secular job. Pray regularly and notice the difference. Blessing will rest upon your job and studies. The Psalmist, who cared for millions of people like a father, prayed seven times a day. Paul, who established churches in all the places he visited and earned his living by making tents, was a great man of prayer. Nehemiah, top Executive of the King was a prayer warrior. Prayer warrior of the Bible were not lazy folks.

The early apostles were also busy people. They had many things to attend to. From serving the table to ministering the Word was their lot. Also, they were burdened with other things. One day they woke up to the situation. It was dangerous to do everything by themselves. They wisely decided to restrict themselves to only God appointed duties. They said, ”We will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word”.

Will you give first preference to prayer? Don’t get crushed under the increasing load of work! The Lord blesses all works performed with prayer. Make bold decisions like the apostles! Problems will disappear! Determine that, prayer is your main business. Genuine prayer is a laborious task. When you pray, a few jobs you have to do might creep into your mind. Do not give up. If necessary, make a note of it on a piece of paper, to remind you of them later. When you feel the urge to ‘close quickly’, be cool and continue. There is no need to pray hurriedly in the prayer closet.

6] Vain Talk:

Loose talk is another adversary of prayer. Those who speak more with men speak less with God. It is good to cultivate the habit of remaining quiet to sustain the spirit of prayer. David who maintained his fellowship with God prayed in Psalms 141:3 ”Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Let this be our daily prayer. Those who find comfort in pouring out their heart to God, need not pour out their hearts to men. Had we spent our hours of vain conversation, in prayer, we would have witnessed revival long before. It is no wonder that people wasting their time in gossiping find no time for prayer. They steal God’s time. Refrain from loose talks and spend that time in prayer to master this art.

Loose talk is the devil’s snare and many prayer warriors get caught in it. Nehemiah faced this challenge. His adversaries tired many tricks. Still, they could not stop his work. Then they sent men to him saying in Nehemiah 6:2“Come, let us meet together in one of the villages on the plain of Ono.” This is one of the devil’s schemes. Nehemiah found this out and said in verses 3,4 ”But they were scheming to harm me; so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?” Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer.” Yes, we have no time for vain talks. Let us speak like Nehemiah!

God fearing men should shun idle talk. If anyone considers himself prayerful and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his prayer life is worthless. Many lose spiritual power received through communion with God by gossiping. Do you long to abide in His Presence? If so, pray daily, “Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight” (Psalms 19:14).

Recognise gossiping as sin and confess it. Don’t call it a weakness. The Bible says that no man can tame his tongue. Only the Holy Spirit who descended upon the apostles in cloven tongues of fire can overcome this. Be filled with the Holy Spirit! Don’t enter into gossiping. Once you start, it would be difficult to control. Do not give any opportunity to the devil. If you let him in, it is difficult to get him out!

Speak words of edification that others may be benefitted. Convert vain talk into useful discussion. Cultivate the habit of praising God always as recorded in Hebrews 13:15 ” Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Offering continually the sacrifice of praise of God, will save us from the vain talk (Ephesians 5:4).

You need to overcome the temptation of having someone around you always. God’s children find pleasure in being alone with God. Crowd-lovers cannot become prayer warriors. When you know how to withdraw from others, you can become a man of prayer. Avoid unnecessary visits. When the spirit inspires you to pray, don’t postpone. You may never pray again. Our Lord had to go away from the crowd every time for prayer. Needy people will try to compass a praying man. Only those who overcome this temptation can be a blessing to others!

Finally, do not roam from house to house. Stay at home. Esau was a man of the field; Jacob was a man dwelling in tents (Genesis 25:27). Remember, only Jacobs can wrestle and overcome!

Let us introspect ourselves..

Shall we watch and pray so that we would not enter into temptation?

Shall we have the sober-mindedness and watchfulness while praying?

Shall we ignore all the discouragements coming from outside and move forward with watchful prayers focussing on our Lord?

Shall we ignore all the discouragements arising within such as doubts, weariness, negative thoughts, past failures, etc. and focus on watchful prayers?

Shall we pray to our Lord to fill us with a willing spirit for a watchful and continuous prayers during the day?

Shall we seek our Lord’s help in removing all the wandering thoughts which distract our prayers?

Shall we have Christ be the centre of attraction of our thoughts?

Shall we pre-empt excessive work by effectively managing the work related to us instead of wasting time with other’s work which robes God’s time in prayer?

Shall we wisely decide to restrict ourselves to only God appointed duties like early apostles?

Shall we guard over our mouths and keep watch over the door of our lips?

Shall we refrain from all loose talks, gossiping, etc, which distract our valuable prayer time?

Shall we cultivate the habit of praising God always which would save us from vain talk?

Shall we WRESTLE AND OVERCOME THE DEVIL’S SCHEMES in our prayer life?

Let us Pray: Our Heavenly Gracious Father, we thank you for helping us to understand about how to wrestle in our prayer life by removing all the distractions, obstacles from outside, from within besides pre-empting excessive work, guarding our mouths and praising You Father throughout the day. Father, please help us to have an uninterrupted intimate relationship with You and wrestle and overcome the devil’s schemes in our prayer life. We give all praise, glory and honour to Your Holy Name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Will Our Children Keep the Faith?

the catastrophe of modern education

I have already written on multiple occasions of the urgent necessity of creating Orthodox parish schools in America. Our nation’s public schools have degenerated into prison-like institutions which have outlawed all mention of Truth (the Second Person of the Trinity), which forbid any public prayer to the Lord God, which teach sexual propaganda and promote infanticide to kindergarteners, which lead students to believe that they will likely be brutally massacred by their own peers, and which on top of everything else no longer even educate our children in any meaningful sense of the word at all .

The situation gets no better when it comes to so-called “higher education.” Even half a century ago, Fr. Seraphim Rose wrote the following words with sorrow:

The academic world — and these words are neither lightly nor easily spoken — has become today, in large part, a source of corruption. It is corrupting to hear or read the words of men who do not believe in truth. It is yet more corrupting to receive, in place of truth, mere learning and scholarship which, if they are presented as ends in themselves, are no more than parodies of the truth they were meant to serve, no more than a facade behind which there is no substance. It is, tragically, corrupting even to be exposed to the primary virtue still left to the academic world, the integrity of the best of its representatives —if this integrity serves, not the truth, but skeptical scholarship, and so seduces men all the more effectively to the gospel of subjectivism and unbelief this scholarship conceals. It is corrupting, finally, simply to live and work in an atmosphere totally permeated by a false conception of truth, wherein Christian Truth is seen as irrelevant to the central academic concerns, wherein even those who still believe this Truth can only sporadically make their voices heard above the skepticism promoted by the academic system. The evil, of course, lies primarily in the system itself, which is founded upon untruth, and only incidentally in the many professors whom this system permits and encourages to preach it.

a toxic culture

With each passing year it grows harder and harder for our children to keep the faith. Indeed, such a thing is now scarcely possible for a young boy or girl, especially one who has not been given the foundation and protection of a true Christian education. America’s youth culture is spiritually toxic — and that is to put it mildly. If you don’t believe me, perhaps you didn’t hear about the Teen Vogue article which taught kids how to sodomize each other “the right way” (don’t worry, the link is not to the article itself). The same publication recently put up a slideshow on its website celebrating a nine-year-old drag queen, who has been pictured holding signs so lewd that I utterly refuse to include a link. Nine years old. This is a generation whose social media app of choice, Snapchat, has recently introduced a channel dedicated solely to pornography — with of course no way for parents to block access to it.

This is a culture which, thanks to the all-consuming reality of social media and smartphones, is with our children twenty-four hours a day. It travels with them everywhere, in their purse or in their pocket. It sleeps with them in the bed at night. Like one of the ancient Sirens, it constantly calls them back to itself with flashing notification lights, gentle vibrations and soft chimes.

Given all of this (and really, I have only begun to scratch the surface), it should be no surprise at all that the youth are deserting Christianity in droves. And with this situation in view, can we honestly believe that allowing our children to be raised by the public school systems is anything other than throwing them to the wolves? As Matt Walsh writes:

If your kid is thrown into a world of deviancy and moral chaos while he’s still wearing pull ups, he will conform to it. In fact, I have never in my life met a child who is totally “in the world” — that is, completely submerged in modern culture without any parental controls or barriers in the way — and yet not of it. I don’t think such a child exists, has ever existed, or can ever exist… whenever I am accused of keeping my kids in a Bubble, it is always because I have taken some step to preserve their innocence. That is the one thing we absolutely must not do, according to society. Let the TV and the school system decide when its time for your child to stop being a child. That time, by the way, is right around their second birthday and getting younger.

parish schools: our christian duty

Yet even if we leave aside the moral filth and unspeakable depravity which characterize modern life, consider the fact that Orthodox parish schools are the historically normative reality of the Orthodox world. According to Archimandrite Vasileios of Iveron:

The Church has always covered the people with her protection, and the people are the guardian of the truth of the Church. This was why, when our people found themselves in foreign parts, they would immediately build a church and next to it a Greek (Russian, Serbian, etc.) school. That was how we lived during the Turkish occupation; that is how we live today, even as far afield as Australia. The Church helps us in freedom and in servitude, in the village and throughout the world.

But how has it possibly come about that the only place in which the Church does not help her children is here in America, the richest and most privileged nation that the world has ever known? How is it that we have abandoned them at the one moment of history in which they unquestionably need such help the most? How have we allowed ourselves to fail so colossally? Archimandrite Vasileios thunders forth the truth:

Who gave us the right — or on what basis have we assumed the right — to condemn all children in one stroke to the darkness of ignorance?

Who says — or where have we found it written — that all children are so naive and insignificant that their expectations, their thirsts, their desires and demands fit into the narrow and dingy limits set by the education given to them?

Who says that their one ambition is to become mere technicians—accessories for the continued smooth functioning of this machine which sees man as it does, which so organizes his life, which builds his cities in this way? This machine which turns man to pulp and makes a prisoner of him—of the nobility, the crown of creation?

And who says that the potentialities, the flights and desires of the human soul reach only as far as the vision, the sentimentalism or the romantic humanism of any idealistic or materialistic theory?

The ecclesial life reveals to you hidden and unexplored areas of your being which it knows about. You yourself suspected their existence, but the upbringing you received discounted them.

Why not light the torch of the child’s life now? Why not give all children the possibility of approaching these fire-bearing and God-bearing people, our Saints, so that they too become living people, spontaneous, terrible to their adversaries, fearless in the face of every danger, every threat; terrible to death itself?

At the same time they can be delicate, sensitive, a comfort to everyone who is persecuted and wounded, to every creature, to the whole creation which groans with us in travail, also awaiting to receive its freedom from the liberated children of God.

Why can we not in this way give each person the possibility of following his own way, his calling, his love? To become craftsmen, scientists, manual workers, farmers, businessmen, artists. And to feel that everything is holy, dignified, full of light, grace, and eternity — even ephemeral, small, material things — when it is blessed by God. To do all these jobs, to practice these professions, arts, and sciences as sacred obediences, as their handiwork, as a form of prayer, a way of offering and showing love for the Other.

To these beautiful and God-inspired words I have nothing to add, except this: what are we waiting for?

A Wonderful Heart?!

A few years ago, we were visiting dear friends who invited a brother we did not know to meet and join us for dinner. After an enjoyable evening, as he stood to leave, this brother looked directly at me and paused to remark, “You have a wonderful heart.” Again, he repeated, “I want you to know, you have a wonderful heart.” It took me completely off guard. He continued to reiterate that statement several times with a concentrated gaze until I had to (was forced to) acknowledge it, though my initial reaction was to downplay and deflect it.

It was very uncomfortable for me. Not knowing this fellow well, I even thought for a moment, was this inappropriate? At first, I dismissed what he said with a nervous gesture and a gracious grunt or two. But I realized he wasn’t going to back down, change what he was saying, or stop repeating it, until I verbally conceded and received it. So, to make it stop, I finally did - with an embarrassed, inept sort of “thank you.” Mind you, this all took place in a matter of seconds, but seemed like forever. It left me wondering, what just happened?!

When I awoke the next morning, it suddenly struck me how directly_ the Lord_ was speaking to me in those statements – as awkward as it all was. I had been meditating for weeks on 1 Peter 3:4 concerning the “hidden person of the_ heart_” and that our attention and adornment should be focused there “with the incorruptible_ beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious_ in the sight of God.” I had been praying earnestly, daily, for the inner workings of my own heart, and yet nearly missed the Lord’s blatant encouragement to me! How did I do such a thing?!

Then I remembered a similar experience more than fifteen years ago while studying the Song of Solomon. It seemed to me the Lover kept repeating the phrase, “Behold, you are fair, my love! Behold, you are fair!” an inordinate amount of times. I was actually annoyed by it, which was ridiculous on my part, but helped make God’s point all the more effective. Frustrated, I literally said to myself, “Why does He keep saying the same thing?!”

Immediately, I heard the Lord answer, “I’ll keep saying it until you believe it!”

Stunned, I realized I did not believe I was fair (pleasing or attractive), especially to Him. Neither did I feel deserving to be called His love. Yet, the Lord was saying otherwise! The word “Behold” means “See!” See, you are pleasing, my love – Will you see (realize, acknowledge, believe) this? I was definitely more comfortable with realizing my darkness and untended vineyard (S of S 1:5-6), even as I was more aware of my deceitful and desperately wicked heart. At the time, the Lord was specifically dealing with those deficient areas of my life; so why, in the midst, would He make such lovely proclamations to me?

As we know, God doesn’t see things the way we do. In Song of Solomon our Lover says, “You have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes” (4:9). One glance in the Lord’s direction, to make a move toward Him, causes He who loves us to be overwhelmed and run toward us. Consider the prodigal son, “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was_ still a great way off,_ his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him” (Lk 15:20). Let’s respect the Father’s view of a situation over our own; though apparently, we are more apt to carry a grudge like the older brother – even against ourselves! Yet certainly, the Father doesn’t turn a blind eye to sin and rebellion? So, what’s going on here?

A critical truth explains these scenarios and can safeguard our walk from significant stumbling. It has to do with the finished work of Christ versus His on-going work. Both elements are real, valid, and indispensable in our lives. But neither nullifies the other nor should one ever be confused, mistaken, or forgotten in light of the other. Here’s the scoop: As believers, we have placed our faith in Christ’s accomplished work on the cross for our redemption. By this we are saved. What peace and rest for our souls knowing, “It is finished!” No more striving to please God as “He has made us accepted in the Beloved” (Eph 1:4-8). However, most also understand that we are still a work in progress, “being saved” through His on-going work in our lives while He purifies our faith and forges character in our souls (1 Cor 1:18; 1 Pet 1:6-9). We press toward this in cooperation with Him as part of our upward call by walking out the good works prepared for us in advance. As we go through the distress of trials and tribulations, though, we discover new aspects of our unworthiness and unregenerate selves. Herein lies the crucial question: Are we defined by that revealed ugliness or do we continue to identify with Christ – the One who saves us and washes us clean? What do we remain focused on? Our flesh and sin or “beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are [we] being transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Cor 3:18)? Do we really believe that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from_ all_ unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)? Or do we need to beat ourselves up for a while? Convinced now, the Lord no longer loves us – at least not as much.

T. Austin-Sparks deals with this subject in his book God’s Spiritual House. He defines it as our spiritual experience of the two sides of the cross: our assurance in His completed work and His handling of us to conform us to His image: “Never allow that which comes to light by God’s handling of us to cross over into that other place of our acceptance, our standing, our peace with God. So many people fail to keep that line clearly defined and they accept all kinds of accusations from the enemy because the Lord is dealing with them in this way…I am seeing more and more that in me, that is in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing! ...but that is the Lord’s matter. That is for the Lord to deal with. [emphasis mine - remember, we are His workmanship.] I am not going to allow that to encroach upon my absolute acceptance with God, my basic standing before God. I am not going to allow all the problems of sanctification to come over and destroy the great assurance of justification!”

This is why the Lord is adamant for us to behold our beauty even while dealing with our failings.

Shall We Press On?

Since the Lord’s work in our life is on-going, sometimes it seems we never get a break from being worked over. The Apostle Paul asks, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?” I say, only _we _can –** only we can be persuaded **(Rom 8:35, 38-39)! If we lose sight of His completed work and everlasting love, it undermines our confidence and shakes our grounding in Him. Check yourself: Is the Lord truly magnified, prominent in my life or is it dissatisfaction with myself? “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things” (1 John 3:20). Note, only He knows the depth of these things.

Isaiah 43 is a powerful chapter expressing the Lord’s love, care, and protection over His people. The first twenty-one verses describe the multitude of ways He saves and redeems us, however the Lord laments His people were not calling upon Him or bringing sacrifice and offering (vv 22-24a). Instead, He made this conclusion to the matter_: “**But you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities”_** (v 24b).

Yes, it’s my rebellion and sin that ruins everything. When I approach God, though, I discover I can become overwhelmed with my failings and preoccupied with my inadequacies. After I confess the downside of my life (which seems endless), I’m too discouraged and deflated to get anywhere on the upside! Why bother, the enemy taunts. To my surprise, one day while reading this verse, I heard the Lord say, “Don’t weary Me with your sins – it’s all you talk about to Me. It keeps you from just being with Me, loving Me, and doing the things that please Me.”

He continues in verses 25-26a,_ “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance.”_ In other words, let the Lord do His part as our Redeemer. Notice how He emphasizes that it’s His job. Quit bemoaning and rehashing the same old things He doesn’t even remember! We’re to focus, set our minds upon,_ remember Him_ – that’s our part. Magnify the Lord, not our sin. Give Him the sacrifice of praise, love offerings from our heart, and sweet incense of fellowship. That’s what He wants to hear. “Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which_ you do not know”_ (Jer 33:3). Note, once again, He is the One in-the-know who brings us in with Him on a need-to-know basis!

Now, I want to take this thought one step further. Since we have the principle of our salvation being fully accomplished, yet on-going, it also applies to all the benefits included in our salvation such as healing, deliverance, provision, protection, spiritual authority and power, etc. “For in that He put all in subjection under him (notice lower case h, meaning man, us!), He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. But we see Jesus…” (Heb 2:8-9). I read in one of Randy Clark’s books: “Even though you may experience defeat, you are part of an undefeated, unshakeable Kingdom. Be grounded in this identity because it will sustain you through setbacks, trials, and disappointments.” Bingo. Do we identify with defeat or the undefeatable Kingdom? As with our salvation, the reality of His benefits is no less true in the midst of ups and downs, victories and defeats. And that certainty spurs on our pursuit to contend for the faith: _“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” _(Jude 1:3).

We must always keep in mind the finished, forgiving, and forgetting work of Christ done on our behalf. At the same time, we are still His workmanship in a daily construction zone. Once again, both aspects are real, valid, and indispensable. One does not cancel the other out. Nor should either be confused with, mistaken, or forgotten in light of the other. Read 1 Peter 1:3-9; hear this twofold truth:

_3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. _

_6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have beengrieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having notseen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9_receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

An Add-on (as if this wasn't long enough!)

Looking at 1 Peter 1:4 concerning our inheritance,_ incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,_ - consider this reserve as the gold in our National Treasury which backs up the everyday currency we use. We trust that reserve is real, though we’ve never laid eyes on it. It’s unfading, perfect, and flawless, yet we live in a flawed and imperfect world. So, there are variables we face when drawing from our reserves: What is the cost required? What is the exchange rate? What price am I willing to pay? These are consequential questions as we do business in His Kingdom. Do not lose sight of the certainties of Christ (vv 3-5) in the midst of the fluctuating variables of life (vv 6-9). Those variables change in a moment based on whim and emotion; sickness and health; the cultural and political climate, not to mention weather itself! These instabilities add to the grief of our_ various trials_ and are why we must be_ kept by the power of God through faith_ as a constant.

You may have heard the expression, “Change is the only constant in life,” but we know otherwise! Jesus is the Constant, that Rock when our heart is overwhelmed, a Refuge in the storm, Peace which surpasses understanding, etc…_ Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. _

What’s More Important?

Mark 2: 9-11 “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

The Charismatic Renewal of the 1960-1980's brought about a transformation of the Church from its staid traditionalism to a renewed and vibrant experience of the Holy Spirit’s power in the lives of believers. This was accompanied by the signs, wonders and miracles described in various scriptures (see Mark 16: 17-18, Romans 12: 6-8, and 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11) and it spread like a tsunami through the ranks of the traditional churches, by-passing much of the clergy and their schools of theology who were often frightened or even offended by its impact on their congregations. Denominational barriers were set aside as people from every church, both catholic and protestant, came together to worship the Lord Jesus in spirit and truth and to be baptised with His Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. The result has been a renewed fervour for the Power of God within the churches as seen in miraculous healings, deliverance from demons, words of wisdom and knowledge, prophecies and other gifts of the Holy Spirit which are now a regular part of their worship time together. This, in turn, caught the world’s attention and churches where these gifts are in operation are filled to overflowing while many that reject them are closing down and selling their buildings. Lately, though, within the western charismatic/pentecostal churches, there has been a gradual shift in focus away from the free exercise of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in favour of a more orderly, more appealing, “user-friendly” church service, geared to making strangers feel comfortable and avoiding any possible conflict. Nevertheless, for those churches willing to give control of the service to the Holy Spirit, He distributes his gifts “severally as He wills” to those within the pews and on the platform for the purpose of building up the church through these supernatural manifestations but they can be threatening to those who want to follow a pre-printed (or unprinted) “Order of Service” or a platform ministry which refuses to allow the Holy Spirit to move out among the people occupying the pews. Many believers are genuinely afraid of anything that smacks of the supernatural such as speaking in tongues, prophecies, etc., and want nothing to do with it. As Paul says in Romans 8:6,7 ”For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal (natural) mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. In the persecuted Church in the east, the opposite is true and miracles still abound through the working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the believers. The latest research shows the fastest growing church in the world on a per capita basis is in, of all places, Iran, followed by China! In both countries, house-churches abound and persecution is great but the Holy Spirit is present in Power in their meetings.

Everyone loves to see a miracle or at least hear or read about one. It lifts us up and gives us courage to believe that “What he’s done for others, He’ll do for you” as the old song says. All of us want to see more miracles and I’m sure are praying for them in our own lives and the lives of others, indeed, for many of us, the need for a miracle can be all-consuming because of some dire circumstance we find ourselves in. I was once told by an old friend, when you have prayed your heart out for a miracle and nothing has changed then stop praying about the problem and start to fall in love with Jesus all over again by focussing on Him. Spend your time worshipping Him and as you do, you will begin to see your problem through His eyes and in that light turn again to your problem and see it resolved.

The verses at the head of this article are from Mark 2: 9-11 and are taken from an incident when Jesus was preaching in a house packed solid with people. Four friends brought along a paralysed man to be prayed for but they couldn’t get in the door for the crowd, so, with great boldness, they climbed on to the roof, lifted the heavy stone tiles and lowered him down on a rope right at Jesus’ feet. Now all that was needed was for Jesus to say “Rise up and walk” and he would be healed. But that’s not what happened! When Jesus saw their faith, He said, “Son, your sins are forgiven you”. The scribes got upset and the crowd—including me, if I had been there, got disappointed. Who needs to hear “your sins are forgiven you” when you can’t walk? That’s not why the four men went to all that trouble. They wanted the man healed of his paralysis, not have his sins forgiven. Jesus heard their thoughts and answered both the scribes and the crowd with a question which tells us something we might miss in our disappointment about the missing miracle: “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? If you were there, how would you have answered this question? My answer would have been “Definitely, it is much easier to say “your sins are forgiven you” than say “rise up and walk”. The first statement requires no outward sign of its validity—no external evidence— whereas the second requires a miracle—the man has to get up and walk. I remember sitting next to a world-famous healing minister at a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship dinner and he told me something I’ve never forgotten: “It’s very easy to say to a large crowd ‘Someone here is being healed right now of high blood pressure’, but it’s a whole different ball game to say, ‘Someone here is being healed right now of a large cancerous growth on their side’ “. One requires evidence, the other doesn’t! Jesus would not have answered His own question the way I would because He knew how different a price He would pay for each statement. The price for Jesus to heal the paralytic was the stripes on His back (Isaiah 53:5) “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” and (1 Peter 2:24) says “..by whose stripes you were healed.” The price for Jesus to heal our sicknesses was a Roman lashing which left Him bleeding and bruised but alive! The price to forgive our sins required a far greater sacrifice, His very life offered up on Calvary’s cross! So, which do you now think was easier for Jesus to say? Also, ask yourself what was the paralytic’s greatest need? What is anyone’s greatest need? It’s not the healing of our broken bodies but the salvation of our immortal souls and isn’t it great that He does both! He met the paralytic’s greatest need first and likewise ours.

It’s great to get excited about the wonderful miracles the Lord is doing today in healing the sick and delivering from demons because it sets captives free and shows the world that God is real and loves us but these miracles point to something much greater, the Lord Himself. We must never make miracles the object or purpose of our service else our love will grow cold and our churches will empty because we have left our first love—Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Miracles will lead many unbelievers to Christ but they must follow, not lead the activities of believers. Our desire is to “know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death”. (Philippians 3:10). If that is our goal, we will remain in Him and miracles will surely follow. Thus we will be able to say, “Your sins are forgiven you in Jesus name, now rise up and walk!”

Choices (BTVS 3.19)

This is part of my ongoing Buffy Project, where I write notes/meta for every episode in an attempt to better understand the characters and themes of the show. You can find the full list here. Gifs are not mine.

An episode of Choices. Which is more significant–where everyone’s going to college or damning a bunch of people to save Willow?

It’s only this time around that I’m beginning to appreciate the relationship between the Mayor and Faith. He’s looking for someone to control and she is looking to be controlled. She wouldn’t put it that way, of course, but she craves guidance and approval. He balances doses of approval and guiding her towards what he wants: manners, dressing differently, etc. Faith is actually quite moldable if she feels she can trust you. He reads her well and notices that she gets upset at “the B word”. I never noticed it before, but his speech to Angel at the end of the episode was motivated by making Faith feel better about Buffy and Angel’s relationship. He was trying to make her see there was no reason to be jealous.

The Mayor buys Faith a knife. Her mother wouldn’t even buy her toys growing up so someone spending money on her–especially on something she really likes–is a big deal.

Everyone is discussing their plans for next year. Willow has many top-notch choices to chose from while Oz has remained quiet on the matter. Xander is reading On the Road for some inspiration for his big road trip. On the Road is largely about a search for meaning which is never found.

Xander: We Bohemian, anti-establishment types are used to being persecuted.

Oz: Well, sure. You’re all so weird.

Ironic, because Oz fits the description far better than Xander. Cordelia walks up and makes a snide comment and Xander jumps to announce Willow got into Oxford. Bad move when Willow’s the reason she’s so pissed at you, Xander. Willow accuses him of making her “chip” worse. He does follow her into the store where she’s now working and call her a mean-spirited, superficial princess so…fair enough. Their insults seem meaner without the kissing to break it all up.

Cordelia: I’m sorry, Buffy. this conversation is reserved for people who actually have a future.

That was cold. It upsets Buffy enough to run to Wesley and Giles to try and configure a way around her destiny. She thinks if she captures Faith, stops the ascension, and agrees to come home during breaks she can make leaving Sunnydale work. It’s a vain hope and by episode’s end she’s accepted it.

The gang immediately turns to Willow now when magic needs to be done and Giles doesn’t say a word. She works on the protective spells the Mayor has going on his box and gives Xander and Oz instructions on how to destroy it (complete with stick figure Oz holding a guitar). Oz says there’s “nobody like my Will”. But then Faith kidnaps her.

Wesley: This box is the key to the Mayor’s Ascension. Thousands of lives depend on our getting rid of it. Now I want to help Willow as much as the rest of you but we will find another way.

Buffy: There is no other way.

Wesley: You’re the one who said take the fight to the Mayor and you were right. This is the town’s best hope of survival – it’s your chance to get out!

Buffy: You think I care about that? Are you made of human parts?

Giles: All right, let’s deal with this rationally –

Buffy: I can’t believe you’re taking his side!

It’s funny that Giles says they should discuss things rationally and they say he’s taking Wesley’s side. They know that’s the rational thing to do. Wesley is being the most pragmatic and taking the “one for the many” stance. It’s understandable but also understandable that condemning your friend to die would be really hard to do. It’s much easier when you don’t really know the face you’re sacrificing. This is who Buffy is…the hero, the one who can’t not save someone no matter the cost. We see in season five that Giles takes the Watcher’s Council/Wesley’s stance when it comes to condemning a few innocents to save the many. By season seven Buffy claims she could kill Dawn to save the world. I’m not sure if I think that change is a good thing or not, but Buffy definitely feels more responsible for the world/feels the weight of it all much more heavily by season seven. Let me know your stance on Buffy’s choice: selfish or heroic?

Oz breaks the pot that was going to be used to destroy the box, effectively ending the conversation. Willow uses magic to stake a vampire and has the opportunity to escape, but instead she goes looking through the Books of Ascension. Willow wants to be of value so badly she puts her own life at risk.

WILLOW: It didn’t have to be this way, but you made your choice. I know you’ve had a tough life. I know some people think you’ve had a lot of bad breaks, and that you've hardened your heart to protect yourself from the pain. Well, boo-hoo. Poor you. You had a lot more in your life than some people. You had friends like Buffy. Now you’ve got no one. And you were a slayer! One of the Chosen. Now you're nothing. Just a selfish, worthless, waste.

At this point I think her speech to Faith is fair. Someone needs to tell her her tough life isn’t an excuse to murder people. It’s also telling that Willow mentions her being a Slayer…Willow doesn’t understand how you could turn your back on that kind of specialness. Faith’s response is to punch her and say she does have someone.

They go to make the exchange at the High School.

MAYOR: Well, I wish you kids the best, I really do. But if you don’t mind a bit of fatherly advice, I, well gosh I don’t see much of a future for you two. I don’t sense a lasting relationship, and not just because I plan to kill the both of you. You have a bumpy road ahead.

BUFFY: I don’t think we need to talk about this.

MAYOR: You kids, you don’t like to think about the future, don’t like to plan but unless you want Faith to gut your friend like a seabass you’ll show a little respect for your elders.

ANGEL: You’re not my elder. I gotta lot of years on you.

MAYOR: And that’s just one of the things you’re gonna have to deal with. You’re immortal, she’s not. It's not easy. I married my Edna Mae in aught three and I was with her right until the end. Not a pretty scene. Wrinkled and senile and cursing me for my youth, it wasn’t our happiest time. And let’s forget the fact that any moment of true happiness will turn you evil. What kind of life can you offer her? I don’t see a lot of Sunday picnics in the offing. Skulking in the shadows, hiding from the sun – she’s a blossoming young girl! You want to keep her from the life she should have till it’s passed her by and by God I think that’s a little selfish. Is that what you came back from Hell for? Is that your greater purpose?

The speech upsets both Angel and Buffy. It’s interesting to me because at this point Buffy still has hope her life will end up being normal, which is why she lets Angel go. In later seasons she’d probably just roll her eyes and say she’s always in the shadows anyway.

They make the exchange and are back at square one aside from the pages Willow managed to steal. She decides to go to UC Sunnydale, saying she wants in on the fight against evil. But I think it’s more about her chance to be special and powerful. Indeed, she says, “Besides, I’ve got a shot at being a bad ass Wicca, and what better place to learn?”.

Buffy Summers: She got into Northwestern. She has a cousin named Arlene living in Illinois. She likes mochas. She calls Angel “honey”.

Willow Rosenberg: She got into Oxford. She likes mochas.

Angel: Buffy calls him “honey”.

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce: He freaks out every time they don’t have a watches-in-sync-with-all-variables-accounted-for plan for every fight. But sometimes it’s helpful, like when he remembers the box will have spells guarding it.

The Mayor: He had an Irish-settler named Rusty. He says a dog’s friendship is stronger than reason or self-preservation and compares this to Buffy.

DO THE DEMONS KNOW YOUR NAME?

I can’t breathe. My throat is constricted like hands grasped around my neck. I can’t move. What’s holding me down? I can’t see. Heavy darkness surrounds me. I can’t speak. I’m yelling and nothing is coming out because the hands are too strong around my throat. “In….the….name….of….Jesus…” I try to scream out but there’s no voice. I try again. Again. Silence. Suffocation. “BRETT!” I try instead, forcing my arm to try and hit it him as I lie paralyzed in bed. Finally after fighting, I feel him. He moves but rolls over. Then I’m released. I sit up exhausted. Confused. I lie back down and fall asleep. Yes, this happened to me one night last year. When I woke up in the morning, I asked Brett if he felt me grab him. He said no. I told a close friend of my experience and she said it was similar to what she experienced in her life from her past: demonic physical oppression. The next night, Brett and I prayed over our bedroom asking God to remove any spiritual darkness and protect us. However, for whatever reason it happened to Brett. I woke up to him screaming, “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” over and over again, which released the demon’s hold on him. Prior to the oppression, Brett was dreaming about the calling God has given him to be a missionary who makes movies. Some people may read this and be skeptical or think it was just a dream. Or wonder why we would be spiritually oppressed like this. It was real, and here is why. Let me start from the beginning. Brett became very active on Facebook at the beginning of 2016 using it as an avenue to share the gospel and minister to people. Brett led a girl to Jesus, whose powerful transformation by the Spirit was a domino affect to leading others to accepting Jesus into their life as well. However, this new daughter of God had a horrific past of abuse, and specifically to this topic, demonic oppression. Let’s just say, Satan was not happy that he was losing more and more people from his grasp as they were found by the Savior. And if Satan can’t have our souls, he will try to ruin us in any way possible by distracting us from our mission on this earth and forgetting that he is the real enemy. He causes as much confusion and disunity among believers as he possible can to deter us from our calling and winning more souls for Jesus. Facebook can be a great tool for Christians to use to share the gospel; however, more often than not Satan is in the background playing his games of destruction. Brett, this girl, and others were being attacked by satanists on Facebook. Yes, you can block and report, but it won’t stop Satan’s work. Then one February night, Brett was messaged by a satanist. Over the course of 2 days, Brett talked to him. He could feel the presence and weight of darkness through his computer screen. He responded with the only thing that has power over the darkness: the Word of God. The man was demon possessed at times throughout their conversations and the Word penetrated making him physically sick and blurring his vision, until Brett told him to cry out to God and ask if He was real. Immediately he was made well. Sadly, he still did not choose Jesus in fear of what his cult would do to him. He ended his conversation with Brett by telling him he failed his mission to distract Brett from serving God. Then the words that I try not to let haunt me, “Just know that the demons now know your name.” Brett and my physical oppression is one evidence from this past year that the demons know our names. The satanist told Brett that since Satan and demons are not omnipresent like God, they do not know every Christian. They know only the ones who are a threat to their mission to keep souls from Jesus. This is not bragging rights; this is the reality that we are in war. This may be changing very soon, but here in America we have not been in war against other people for our faith. Yes, you may get criticized, rejected by a friend, unfriended on Facebook, laughed at, questioned, etc. However, unlike our brothers and sisters over seas, we are not getting tortured, shot, burned, beheaded. It may only be a matter of time, but at least right now, Brett and I are not being thrown in jail or threatened for being missionaries who make movies. No one is stopping us. Except….Satan and his demons. The year of 2016 has been a year of waiting. God has made his mission for us known, yet like David, Joseph, and even Jesus, we must wait for His timing to live it out. And in the wait, Satan has been working behind the scenes trying to distract with sin, plant seeds of fears and insecurities that have grown to paralyzing mountains, discourage us from our calling, doubt who God really says He is and who we are in Christ, destroy relationships….all to hold us back from obeying God even in the wait. Satan is the real enemy. Even for other believers who face persecution from people, Satan is still the enemy behind it all. This sounds pretty discouraging and even haunting, especially since our culture has its own ideas of the spiritual forces around us. My response can be to fear him and be intimidated by him. Honestly, that is has been my initial response and I’m still battling it. And I can tell you by experience, that’s exactly what he wants. It gives him more power; he knows my weaknesses and can shoot his flaming arrows right where my armor his down. He sets up camp in my territory and whispers that lie. That thought of doubt or insecurity. That tempting fruit of desire that if I don’t take captive it will lead to sin. He also likes to give me the club and I beat myself over and over with it while he sits back and enjoys the show. Many times I think I came up with the thought or lie, and because “there is a way that seems right to a man (Proverbs 16:25),” I don’t instantly shove it out. I easily think it could be truth. Where as if I focus that my enemy, the devil, who is prowling around like a lion looking to devour me (1 Peter 5:8), spoke that lie, doubt, tempting desire, it’s easy to fight back! To face him and chase him out of my territory. To speak the truth of God’s Word to shine the light which scatters the darkness (1 John 2:8). Not only do I need to remember that Satan is the enemy, but that people are not the enemy. Even people who do not have the Spirit inside them are not the enemy. They have been blinded by Satan from the truth of Jesus Christ and his saving gift of grace that He offers them (2 Corinthians 4:4). I was once lost and blinded; yet in God’s grace I have been found and forgiven. This past year I have understood the grace of God more than ever before. And because of that, the Spirit has enabled me to show more grace to others and look at them differently, no matter who they are and what they have done. I have been living my life with fuzzy blinders over my eyes. Now, God’s grace, unconditional love, and forgiveness towards me overflows even more to others. Whether it’s someone from a completely different walk of life or someone who has sinned against me, they are never the enemy. I can love with open arms. I can be rejected and know that I’m still a daughter of the King and no one can change that. I can forgive completely when someone has hurt me. Instead Satan wants division, arguing, unforgiveness towards one another. When we see people as the enemy, it is so easy to do this! Someone hurts us or someone we love, and we want to fight back and get revenge. We feel unloved or unwanted by someone who should love or want us, so we start to believe we are unloved and desperately try to find love in the wrong places. Or we stuff down pain from the past and put up a wall from those who do love us, causing bondage rather freedom. We fight over the meaning of a Scripture passage and churches are split into two. Our spouse sins and we add it to the list of wrongs, and even bring it up in a later argument. Our children are acting like little demons (can I get a raised hand!?) and we yell, become impatient, and frustrated that they are not obeying every word we say. We even can struggle to forgive ourselves for hurting the people we love. And Satan loves it. He is the master of disguise. He is not the devil with the red suit and pitchfork. He’s beautiful; he even twisted our minds in our culture to think that beauty is to strive for and without it, you are not worthy. Another deception. So he is weaving himself unnoticed throughout our minds and our relationships, and without realizing it you are believing that you (beating myself with the club example) are the enemy, or your spouse, children, friend, coworker, annoying Facebooker who won’t shut up about the election, the persecutor, yes, even the ISIS leader who has been brainwashed by THE enemy. My friend who is reading this, there is hope. Satan is a wimp. It doesn’t sound like it from what I wrote above. And as I said, I struggle with seeing him for who he really is: a punk with cheap parlor tricks as Brett tells me. But the only way I put him in his rightful place (um…hell), is to look to the One who is on the Throne. When I see Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, in His rightful place, everything changes. I remember that the Spirit of God lives in me! He’s not in a tabernacle where I go worship. He’s not here in flesh and bone like Jesus walked on the earth 2000 years ago. He is here with me. In me. And that blows my mind. That God the Creator, the powerful I AM would come live inside me. I have the same power to defeat Satan and my sin as Jesus had to raise from the dead! I do not live like this every moment of every day. What would my days look like if I did? Satan’s doubts, lies, deceptions, luring temptations would have no place in my mind. Oh but if only it was easy. This is war. It’s a daily battle. Some days the struggle is so real and I feel so weak. I have sat in my shower crying out to God to take the battle away because I don’t want to fight anymore. I have 2 choices in that moment: 1. Allow Satan to stay in my territory, giving in to despair while focusing on my fears, doubts, insecurities, and temptations of sin. Which then paralyzes me and weakens my effectiveness in the mission God has called me on this earth. Causing me to miss out on receiving and giving blessings. Wondering through life without joy or peace. -OR- 2. Ask God to fight for me, to give me the strength I need when I am weak. Take his grace that is sufficient for this day (2 Corinthians 12:9). Give up control. Close my eyes and see Him as John did: “…like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.” (Revelation 1:13-16) Then I stand up and be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that I am ready to take my stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-11) The best part: we already know who wins the war. And it surely is not Satan. He will be thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity (Revelation 20:10). Meanwhile…. “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.” (Revelation 19:11-16) This rider called Faithful and True is on my side. I have nothing to fear when I trust the Word of God. What about you? Do you see the war around you? Is the king of kings and lord of lords on your side? If so, are you allowing Satan to devour you or are you standing firm in the strength of the Word of God? Do you think the demons know your name? The battle has been won. The victory is ours. It is my desire to stop writing about the election and direct more of my time to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, but the election has major prophetic implications, and the two issues cannot be separated.

Pres. Trump promised a peaceful transition of power, and he and Melania left the White House with grace and humility.

Here are some quotes that may interest you:

“The purpose of the New World Order is to bring the world into a world government” (Winston Churchill).

“Out of these troubled times [out of the Persian Gulf War], our [America’s] fifth objective—a new world order—can emerge” (Geo. H. W. Bush, 1990).

“I learned to love the New World Order” (Joe Biden, Apr. 23, 1992).

“The hierarchy [of the U.N.], among other things, had called for world government to be achieved in STAGES through the forming of world administrative REGIONS. This was in accordance with the U.N. charter, which encourages the implementation and administration of world government on a REGIONAL basis” (Edmund J. Osmanneczyk, 1995).

“What I am trying to do [to build a global system] is to promote a process of reorganization of the world” (Bill Clinton, 1997).

“Within four years, we will see the beginning of a new international order” (Henry Kissinger 2008).

“The burdens of global citizenship bind us together” (Barack Obama, July 24, 2008).

“To bring about the New World Order, we have to have a new consciousness” [a new spiritual ethic, or new world religion] (Henry Kissinger, Jan. 12, 2009).

Concerning who will head up the New World Order, “We’re trusting that he will be President Obama” (Henry Kissinger, 2009).

“The affirmative task we have now is to actually create a new world order” (Then Vice-Pres. Joe Biden, Apr. 5, 2013).

“I believe we and mainly you [the U.S. Air Force Academy graduating class] have an incredible opportunity to lead in shaping a new world order for the 21st century…” (Joe Biden, May 28, 2014).

“You are about to graduate into a complex and borderless world” (Biden’s new Climate Change Czar, John Kerry, May 6, 2016).

Globalists have big plans, but they are not in control; they just think they are.

The more they reject God; and the more they turn against His people; and the closer they move toward world government; the more they stir His wrath, and the closer God’s people are to the Rapture.

Here are some of my thoughts on current events:

On Jan. 20, 2021, the “America First” president was replaced with a “Fundamentally Transform America” president.

This “fundamental transformation” of America involves the submission of America to a godless world government (the New World Order, The Great Reset, the U.N. 2030 Sustainable Development goals, etc.).

Biden has already announced his intent to undo Trump’s America First policies, rejoin the Paris Climate Accords, rejoin the World Health Organization, halt America’s departure from the World Trade Organization, halt construction on the Keystone Pipeline and border wall, review and reverse more than 100 Trump policies on the environment, stop immigration enforcement in the U.S., and more.

Biden announced support for things (other than world government) that go against the Scriptures: taxpayer-funded abortions for everyone up to the moment of birth (murder of babies), nominate judges that support abortion, allow gays to serve openly in the military, reinstate Title IX that lets transgenders use bathrooms according to their gender identity (men use women’s bathrooms, etc.), etc. Think about this. Through a Political Action Committee (PAC), Planned Parenthood gave more than 27 million dollars to Biden’s election, and now Biden is going to give Planned Parenthood millions and millions of taxpayer dollars to kill babies.

Biden has already cut America’s defense budget, cut the Space Force budget, transformed money budgeted for America’s nuclear arsenal to FEMA, and threatened to fire at least two Generals (one in the Army and another in the Air Force) that questioned these cuts. There is speculation that a military purge is coming to replace patriot-minded officers with officers that will pledge allegiance to the U.N. Biden dissolved the 1776 Commission designed to teach patriotism in public schools and replaced it with a group “to assist agencies in assessing equity with respect to race, ethnicity, religion, income, geography, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability.”

Simply put, “Here It Comes” means that I believe the Biden administration intends to support policies that will lead to the rise of the Ten Kings, world government, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, tracking everyone, godlessness, the Tribulation Period, etc.

The shadow government controls every branch of the U.S. government, and, as I see it, there will be a surge forward with no going back. In his first six days in office, Biden signed more executive orders than the last four presidents combined (and one of his officials said there are more to come).

How long it will take to bring in the world government is unknown, but I expect the shadow government to push Biden to accomplish as much as he can before the next election two years from now.

No one knows the day or hour of the Rapture, but whenever it happens, the Restrainer will be removed, and godless world government will go into overdrive.

Here are several stories that made the news:

One, Biden asked a “Christian” preacher friend to offer the benediction at his inauguration, and the preacher closed his prayer, not in the name of Jesus, but “in the strong name of our collective faith.”

Praying in “the strong name of our collective faith” is the kind of reprobate thinking that left God out of the Democrat Party Platform.

Their total one-party control of the U.S. government will cause them to fully support a godless one-world religion and government.

The Bible clearly teaches that God will put up with this godless world government nonsense for 7 years, but if He did not bring it to an end, no flesh would be saved.

The pastor’s prayer is also evidence of a sick, lukewarm Church that tickles people’s ears instead of proclaiming the truth.

Two, on Jan. 23, 2021, a bomb exploded at First Works Baptist Church in El Monte, Cal.

Hate messages were painted on the inside walls of the church.

Several news organizations ignored the bombing and blamed the church for preaching against same-sex marriage.

These people appear to believe it is okay to blow up a church if the preacher preaches the Scriptures.

Three, on Jan. 20, 2021, an unidentified person in the U.S. State Dept. decided that the U.S. Ambassador to Israel will now be called the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.

The person that made that decision posted it on the State Dept. website, and it appears that whoever did it does not believe that the West Bank and Gaza should be part of Israel.

Some say the Biden administration also plans to change the U.S. recognition of the Golan Heights as part of Israel.

Two weeks ago, I wrote that God had a reason for putting Trump in office, He has a reason for removing Trump, and He has a reason for putting Biden in office.

I tend to believe God is ready to let world government advance, and He removed Trump because Trump would have been in the way.

I also tend to believe that God put Biden in office because He wants Israel to trust Him, not Trump or the U.S., for protection.

Unfortunately, most Christians do not know enough Bible prophecy to recognize the danger that dividing Israel poses to America.

According to the Bible, those that try to cut Israel into pieces at the end of the age will be cut into pieces.

(Note: Before this article was sent to the editor, the State Dept. reversed itself on the issue and went back to calling the U.S. Ambassador the Ambassador to Israel.)

Four, concerning pestilences, my last week’s article noted that a group of U.S. doctors believe Ivermectin is safe and effective for preventing Covid in most people.

The article also noted that India has developed an inexpensive, effective, and safe Covid Ivermectin treatment kit.

On Jan. 19, 2021, it was reported that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has upgraded Ivermectin from “against the drug” to “not for or against the drug.”

According to the article, this opens the door for doctors to feel safe in prescribing it and for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve it for emergency use if they choose to do so.

I found Ivermectin searching “Ivermectin for humans” at amazon.com.

There is also an apple-flavored paste, and a reader told me about a nurse that puts it in peanut butter.

I am just passing this information on for people to make their own decision.

Five, concerning persecution, much of the hatred that has been dumped on Trump over the last 4 years is now being directed toward those that voted for him.

Since Jan. 15, 2021, more than 22,000 people have signed a petition to have Franklin Graham fired from Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoc. for supporting Pres. Trump.

On Jan. 20, 2021, the Daily Beast published an article calling for a new “secret police” force to spy on Trump supporters because the FBI and NSA will not sufficiently punish these Americans.

Many Christians and conservatives are expressing concern that Biden’s support for the LGBTQ agenda (biological males in women’s bathrooms, etc.), and Pelosi’s rule that people in Congress are not allowed to say man, woman, etc., will lead to people being denounced as homophobes, etc. One reader e-mailed me to say there will be a tremendous effort to pervert the children that are not killed by abortion.

It has been reported that Katie Couric is calling for Trump supporters to be deprogrammed in re-education camps and for members of Congress that question the accuracy of the election to be punished. This could pit brother against brother just like Jesus said because the left wants to silence and shame those that disagree with them.

On Jan. 20, 2021, it was reported that former FBI Director James Comey said the Republican Party “needs to be burned down or changed.” He asked, “Who would want to be part of an organization that at its core is built on lies and racism and know-nothingism?” Comey is a proven liar, and there is evidence that he used false evidence to protect Hillary Clinton when she destroyed thousands of e-mails.

On Jan. 21, 2021, it was reported that a columnist for the Washington Post is calling for Fox News to be kicked off the air for “radicalizing people and setting them on the path of violence and sedition.”

I pray that Jesus will Rapture the Church off the earth before the persecution gets too bad, but judgment must begin at the house of God (I Pet. 4:17).

It falls on believers first, and it falls harder on unbelievers second (persecution of the Church signifies a greater persecution is coming on the lost).

Six, after constantly condemning Trump’s handling of Covid and claiming that he (Biden) will vaccinate a million people a day, concerning Covid, on Jan. 23, 2021, Biden said there is “nothing we can do about the trajectory.”

He added, “In the next few months, masks, not vaccinations, are the single best defense against Covid.”

Seven, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog in the latter years and latter days, on Jan. 20 it was reported that a senior Israeli official said if Biden returns to the same terms of Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran, Israel will have nothing to discuss with him.

Biden is clearly interested in returning to the deal but said Iran must start complying first.

To summarize this article, concerning world government, I am not like Chicken Little, who claimed the sky is falling (world government indicates many good things such as the approaching rapture; reign of Jesus; peace, justice, and righteousness on earth; etc.), but I am saying get prepared because here it comes.

Some are saying a police state and persecution are coming.

U.S. Josh Hawley recently said, “You can go to church now, but you may not be allowed to go to the church of your choice in two years.”

As far as many of you are concerned, your pastor will never tell you about these things, so I suggest that a good place to get started is hischannel.com.

Finally, if you want to go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Would You Pass The Job Test?

"Trust In The Lord!" This is a very common phrase in the house the Lord.

I am sure you relate as much as I do. I have had many believers in Christ constantly saying these words. With this I refer to believers in all their categories and classifications. Whether it's a pastor or a prophet, a deacon or an evangelist, a singer or an intercessor, an usher or just an ordinary member of the congregation, the language is the same in theory. But can we really pass the test which Job went past?

The story of this great man's test is located in Job 1:12-19. This man's life one day took an unexpected turn, and he moved from a wealthy man to a poor man, from a family man with children and servants to having no one except his wife and the surviving servants who brought the bad news. Job did not know that God was putting him to a test. Having lost all livestock which was the major currency of the time, it means that he was so limited that he could not even have bought a cow for food at the burial of his children. Let alone buying one consolation cow to help him expect a new herd in a few years.

You may be asking yourself where I am going with this? That's true I would have wondered as well. Here is my point. Many people have come to be too successful to relate with poverty. Some of you have been so out of touch with the reality of poverty that the closest you have been to poverty is when you attend funerals or weddings when there has been plans made to accommodate you. I can safely bet that some of you would consider consuming poison to part with the living. Many people, if they were to find themselves in Job's situation, they would have been anxious, panicky and afraid. Some would have consulted sangomas, seers, fortune tellers, mediums, psychics, and in modern society, "prophets". Do you know why? This is because it is so easy to speak trusting God when you are in comfort especially when you have moved away from the poverty.

The following are some of the reasons at make people not to trust God

1. You may have used your own power/ energy to be where you are: Take a serious look at your life journey. Look at the things that you have or achieved, did you have to do something extra to get it. Did you have to a for someone's favour the process of gaining it? Was there money that you had to pay to activate your possession? Don't get me wrong here, I am not talking about whether you paid for your car or something like that. That's so obvious, If you own something, it must have been bought by the cash you have or loaned from the bank, that's not what I m talking about. I am talking about bribe. I am talking about having to show someone your thighs. I talking about having to offer sexual favours to someone who can press the buttons. I am talking about compromising your moral standing for a lifetime opportunity. I am talking about doing something that you would prefer to die before people know about it. I am talking about greasing someone's palms before getting something you have; a job, a business contract, etc. After such hard work, you would find it difficult to trust God because to you, God needs assistance. That is why you are preaching caution. The reason why you are cautious is because you know if you were to start from the scratch, you would not get back to where you are.

2. You are racing against time: I listen to may people when they are talking about the future, they speak with worry about whether there is still time or not. I believe there is always correlation between what you are destined to achieve with how long God is prepared to keep you on earth a believer. This is by no means encouragement for those who are lounging around as thought they don't have anything to live for. In Luke 12:21 (NLT) the scripture says; "Yes, a person I a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God." Don't race against time to amass physical wealth without fixing the relationship with God. The nature of earthly wealth is that when you stop breathing, that wealth becomes irrelevant and useless to you and only the relationship with God becomes the active one. It is with a strong relationship with God that you begin to trust Him. You cant trust someone you do not have a relationship with. It is the relationship with God that keeps you achieving things that you never thought of achieving. And these things are the ones that will make you live beyond your life on earth. A eat example set for us by our Lord Jesus who had only disciples and a three year ministry which today, more than two thousand year later we are still talking about him. Don't race against time to accumulate possessions, fix this relationship so that you begin the process of walking the journey of trusting God. 3. You are operating outside of God's will: Proverbs 19:21 says; “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”. You are left with no option but to understand that God, has a purpose for you. The God given purpose will always be accompanied by trusting the one who gave it. He is a faithful God who is true to His word. A person who is walking in God's will has no reason to panic. He is not afraid of any turbulence in what he is doing, because even if turbulence comes and he loses everything, the same will of God still prevail and that will establish him further again. Even the test like that of Job comes, he will still stand because it is the will of God that he is operating from. Operating in God's will makes room impartation to sustain the vision even in the absence of the vision bearer. Phillipians 2:12-13 “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose”

Trusting God makes us to be peaceful when the turbulence of life threatens our comfort. It makes us to take decisions based on the whisper of the Holy Spirit. It does not need us to analyse the odd like we are in the stock market business. Trusting God makes be in true alignment with the Spirit of God. In his book, Mistakes leaders make, Dave Kraft identifies one of the mistakes as "prioritizing financial frugality over trusting God."

It is not amazing that many churches and individuals are so worried about the times of church famine rather than being worried about the hunger of the poor right now while storing for what may not even happen in the next 10 years. Worst of all the church does not see anything wrong spending well over R100 000 on a one day church conference to sing and dance when some people are hungry within their proximity.

As we move into 2018, it will do us good as believers to revisit our actions check if they really in synch with our utterances. The three Hebrew young men Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego trusted God when they were facing the Fury furnace (Daniel 3:25-27). Daniel trusted God for his deliverance when he refused to bow do to the statue of the king even after the law was passed for offenders to be thrown in the lion's den. .(Daniel 6:18-22). Stephen was spoke accused the Jewish leaders of persecuting the prophets like a mosquito in their ears. The laity on the Teachings of the Church can earnestly get up to ACT each day to SEEK and LEARN on how to be Moral upholders in daily ACTIONS of this beautiful Faith taught by Jesus where He teaches us to love and give DIGNITY to each other, be they a Man or a Woman. This can and will make a huge difference to our families. Lack of this Divine Truth where ignorance then leads to so many subjugating and abusing others in the name of 'Superiority' be it of skin color, degrees, caste, race, wealth or positions etc...can be effectively tackled, if the Parents start teaching their children to know and respect this Divine Humanity in one and ALL. So in a home where a Man respects his wife and a wife respects her husband, it will then be a fine example for the children to follow suit. And we see why then we have to share this important Teaching all around because our children then are to live in this world surrounded by others or get married to others from the community. How sad it will be if our children cannot be left alone in a Church or a park or in a community where there are such predators. One ignorant person incapable of controlling his or her impulses can create havoc to one or more.. and their families. Concupiscence is COVET. Concupiscence - 'Strong Desire for sensual satisfaction' is a consequence of original sin...according the church theologian St. Augustine. Can we then knowingly allow such predators without 'repentance or amendment' to walk freely amidst families and communities..? Can they then be given freedom of 'RIGHTS' to continue to abuse the freedom or RIGHTS of others, especially the Innocent children or Needy in our midst? Many a Sinner can be helped to change by effective timely ACTIONS by the Shepherds, the family and the community - for the Good of All. We see then how vital it is to get up to obey as says Jesus to combat Sins first within our own hearts and then share this Light for others....so that we are all bathed together in this Holy and Divine Light of the TRUTH of Jesus, for our daily lives. It is a NARROW Path but we know then ahead, we have a TRUE Friend who will never lead us astray. And we know then that we can be a Witness and testimony for those behind us on this Path. Unless all learn, there is always the constant danger of satan luring away people to ABUSE others wherein they fail to 'SUBJUGATE their own weak nature and submit to pleasures of the flesh...or become victims of greed within their hearts to COVET that which does not belong to us... Submitting our Will to let Jesus increase in us makes all the difference. The Church teaches us these faithfully from over 2000 years after Jesus came, NOT TO ABOLISH - but to FULFIL (Mt 5:17) that which His Heavenly Father already instructed Humanity by "The Ten Commandments..."

When Jesus cautions us of 'Hypocrites'...we see how true it is sadly, that such Hypocrites are there not only in families and communities but also in the Church as Wolves in the garb of sheep's clothing - to abuse the Innocent and Needy - to cause such havoc in the Holy Church of families. The Church gets deeply wounded and DIVIDED when others fail to then get up to ADDRESS the evil and hence this Bishops Meet is important where they will not only offer up REPENTANCE but get up in ACTIONS to bring about AMENDMENTS so that this does not continue....It is called the Discipleship of Christ.

However, please do realise that the Shepherds show the way in the Church ....and we have to get back home, to get up in our 'DOMESTIC CHURCH' similarly each day then to OBEY and Shepherd our children to live in ACTIONS as teaches the Church.

Women as Grandmothers and Mothers have a huge role to play in this scheme of things as wisely observed and guided by our Holy Father Pope Francis. Let us not be naive to then think that this Message of the Bishops of America only applies to the Americans or Christians in the World. The Christians everywhere have to fulfil their Christian Vocation to seek, learn and obey to do the needful in ACTIONS in being faithful followers daily in their own homes and communities across the planet. This will bring positive changes to the community made up of different religions and we CONFORM to the message of Christ for All. If the Bishops now know that INACTION causes a lot of serious DAMAGE, then we see the TRUTH in the Words - " Evil flourishes when the GOOD do not get up to STOP the evil..." Any SEEKER of Jesus Christ will know that if Jesus came into this World, it was OBEDIENCE to bring the Truth from God that Sins will not be accepted. Shepherds are called to address the evils of Sins to help bring back the lost sheep.Our Life here has been granted to live as He teaches us in the Ten Commandments, which we will see if learned and imbibed in our daily lives will not see us looking at each other with differences of gender, wealth or religion but GET up to CONFORM and walk wherein it will not be the 'I' that matters but 'WE'. Surely we all see that the need of the HOUR as guides Our Lady of Fatima is repentance and then AMEND to get up to obey HER SON to bring Sinners back to God - to AMEND...and for that like Jesus walked among Sinners, we too have to help the Sinners know their Sins so that with prayers and ACTIONS in FAITH, we can help HEAL for the GOOD of ALL. Can we go to a Doctor to be healed, if we fail to let him know our illnesses..? Medication and maybe Surgery will be needed to help HEAL. Can a doctor or patient then say that because surgery is painful, we should not proceed to HEAL? Amendment is needed for true Repentance. If a Doctor pretends and says that surgery or medication is not needed....or a Shepherd of the Church pretends that Sins need not be addressed, then evil flourishes..! Speaking the TRUTH even if it hurts, is vital to address the evil. Yes, then maybe some will be persecuted...just as Jesus was, did it STOP our Lord from going forth to the Ultimate Sacrifice..? His Sacrifice made such difference as to then record History as - lives before Him and lives after Him. We then who have been sent after Him, have the Blessings to be grateful in Actions following His Faith to make a difference.

"May their witness be a call — to all institutions — for accountability, transformation and leadership..." If this is true for all institutions, Bishops, Priests... it also has to be true for you and me and all LAITY who want to follow Jesus.

Text: Romans 8:35,38,39. What am about to share, is peculiar to our standing in the last days. I pray we all shall be blessed in Jesus name. It is end time. Surely things will be getting harder and harder on our faith.

Because Satan knows he has a very short time. It's end time, complacency will be costly.

This is because just as rain started suddenly when the ark had been locked by God and people were busy playing, partying, marrying, eating, shopping etc, so will Jesus appear suddenly in heaven...

Many of us need to be weaned from terrible habits of:

1. Opening Bible when we like

2. Praying when we like

3. Going to church when we like

(This number 3 started recently for some Christians due to covid but for some it had been their perpetual habit). But it is not even the aspect of spiritual laziness or lethargy that today's teaching is focusing, It is something else. But even if we don't proceed, and I stop here, am sure many of us had gained something..Haven't we?. Surely we have.

The topic as announced to us is: Won't you forsake Jesus?

It is coming like a question to us but a very serious question that is calling for deep sober reflection. Please think and think deep. The alarming rate at which professing believers are forsaking the faith even in the countries that God had once used to spread the gospel globally is calling for we the remnants that are standing to still ask ourselves this pertinent question and sincerely answer it.

Some people who are conversant with media will know that a lot of allegations are been laid against ministers of God these days. So surprising even against men of God that I as a person respect.. And he is using Christians to attack not just preachers but Christianity. Who has heard allegation against Dr. D.K Olukoya? (A great denomination leader in Nigeria). Am not hear to say whether what they said about him is true or false. But my point is this, you as a person, won't you forsake Jesus if the media published something about your pastors with verifiable proofs that he really did those things?. Think deep on this.

Many things had been said against that man and other ministers of God, and like I said,

some may be true. while many may not true.

More things will still be said. And may be true or not true. But won't you forsake Christianity when such news come out against your leader or any prominent believer that you know? Don't hastily say yes, think deep

God forbid your leader will not backlide.

But if it happen or if the news is false, what will be your fate as touching faith?

What will happen if you hear that your Pastor impregnates 3 choir members?

Won't join the company of people whose slogan is; there is no pastor anywhere..

No purity anywhere

No holiness anywhere

No godliness anywhere

No need of going to church

Just have faith in God, u can serve him alone even in your house.

What if they come with proofs that your pastor used church money for his personal affairs?

Can we all hear from one man of deep and great conviction in the finished work and love of Jesus?. With his deep knowledge of what true salvation is, he knew and opined ahead even on our behalf that nothing should, could, would separate us from the love of Christ. For a true believer, even fake message even when delivered by angels can't move him or her out of the love of Christ.

News about failure of a minister or ministers should not destroy your conviction in Jesus is you are a normal Christian. Only a tomato believer forsake faith when he hears the news of the misbehaviour of another believer....A time is coming and very near. When the hatred of the world for the church will be vehemently revealed and exercise through the media...At that time, what will happen to your faith? Haven't you because of news published by media about pastors buying this and that stopped paying tithes and offering in the church? Haven't online pastors poisoned your mind against giving to God's servant?. "They are enriching themselves with your heard earned money they said" and since then you stopped giving to God. What a pathetic backslider you are!

Let me tell you, if you give faithfully to God in Church with pure motive, the reward you would have received from God will not allow you to be questioning how what you gave was spent. Because you would be busy counting your blessing, so you won't have time to be investigating the way what you gave was spent.

This message is preparing us for the time of intense persecution of the Church and ministers of God through by the media, so that when that time comes for what is in us to be tested by challenges, we won't fail Jesus...

Listen to this as I close, anybody who discuss the sin and error of the church on Facebook or other media is not sent by God but been used by Satan to fault the Church and Jesus..

Except if it is in a very closed group which is only for Christians.

Never join such. Don't encourage their evils.

Even any pastor preaching on air ( YouTube, radio, Facebook, television etc) against other pastors is not doing God's work but possessed by Satan to destroy the faith of people in both Church and Christ. Avoid them..

On air we are to preach repentance and salvation to sinners..

While in conferences or church programmes, we address the inadequacies of the church.

By the time you speak ill of the church before the world, why should the world repent and join the already sick and terrible church that you have painted with very dark oil? If we paint and present church to be sinful, how will the world see a need for repentance? Instead, they will justify their own sinfulness with the error of the church we have given to them.

The message here is that, you don't give the message meant for the growth and perfection of those who have accepted Jesus already (Church) to sinners who are in the world. To such people, we preach repentance and faith in Christ Jesus. Such message will be okay for them. But if we dabble into talking about the error of the church before the world, we will be ignorantly sending men father away from the cross. And God won't take it lightly with us. Finally, the admonition is this: don't forsake the Lord because of news of compromise of ministers or churches either true or untrue. Hold the forth. The Lord will keep us safe in Him.
