You can literally watch someone just Say something on twitter about the war, easily debunked, completely made up, and within hours it's got 20k retweets and 100k likes with countless comments of "WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" and taking it as gospel. Same exact kind of immediate engagement here. I am BEGGING everyone to slow the fuck down and stop launching every new bit of information they see out to their followers at light speed. There's no race to acknowledge a new thing first. If you see something that pisses you off, give it a second?? Look into it some more from a source that isn't just checking whether the exact same social circle is parroting the same thing? And Christ, just because something has links in it doesn't mean it's automatically right and correctly sourced. I'm guilty of that one in particular sometimes because I don't feel like getting my scrolling momentum interrupted by navigating to another site but now more than ever it's IMPORTANT.
