#stop believing that this is just uninformed voters being stupid

Y’all understand that the purpose of voting uncommitted in the primary is another form of protest to get Biden to choose between a second term and ending military funding for the IDF right?
I keep seeing posts that are frustrated about this because they assume the people who are voting uncommitted are doing it because they hate Biden (and if that’s the case I get it tbh), but I need everyone to understand that there is an inherent strategy in this tactic. The Democratic Party is putting all of its money behind Biden and not putting any other candidates in the Primary, leaving Democratic voters with only one option - the same person who refuses to call for a Ceasefire and is continuing to fund a whole fucking genocide while we tirelessly protest, write/call in to our representatives, and post online to spread awareness. They’re not giving voters a choice electorally. So by voting “uncommitted” instead of simply voting for Biden (in HUGE numbers btw) they’re sending a clear message about where their priorities really lie.
The whole point of voting is to use your voice to tell your leaders what you want! Voters are the only thing standing between politicians and any power they wish to wield. By not voting for Biden in the Primary voters are able to hold him accountable and say “you’re not holding true to the duty of your office, the office we put you in and pay for, to represent us faithfully, so now you don’t get to keep that office.” It’s essentially telling Biden to wise the fuck up, because the ultimatum is genocide or no more power. He will lose the privilege of getting to lead if he doesn’t listen to the people he represents.
I get being scared about this. Protesting can be scary sometimes. Trump is a huge fucking threat to everything and everyone I love. He is a literal fascist who can’t be trusted to run a lawnmower let alone an entire country. But Biden and the Democratic Party are banking all their money on that fear being the sole motivator this November, so that they can continue with business as usual and not do their fucking jobs. They don’t want to listen to voters about calling for a Ceasefire because they want to continue taking money from AIPAC and other zionists, and because they don’t want further conflict between the US and anyone else. By voting uncommitted voters are sending the message that Biden is not doing his job (democratically representing the American people) and they are prepared to fire him for it.
#stop believing that this is just uninformed voters being stupid#there is a strategy behind this#also you should still vote for your local Dems for office!#the presidential election is not the end all be all of this election year!!#and with how the Supreme Court is looking you should all be way more invested in your local and state politics anyways because those are#the people who are actually going to protect you no matter who is President#okay now I’m done#not tagging this in any strategic way because I don’t want to attract people who will dox me lmao#but if you have US politics questions or wanna talk about this further get at me#personal shits

Honestly cannot understand why so many people have forgiven the Lib Dems. The only explanation i can think of is that a lot of people are stupid and have no consistent political thought whatsoever, and obviously that is an incredibly innappropriate and unfair thing for me to say. The brexit party i can grasp, there's loads of stupid right wing racist people - its fucking disgusting and i wish they would fuck off, but its existence is something i can at least fathom. The brexit party not having any discernible policies is par for the course - racists just want racism.
But the lib dems? What do they even believe in at this point? Remain, sure, but beyond that? If we had a general election and another hung parliament, i can easily see the lib dems getting into bed with the tories again if the tories promise them no brexit. The lib dem manifesto on their website frames every policy area in terms of how staying in the EU would be better - thats not policy making! It doesn't get much more centrist-status-quo-"fuck you got mine" than having your manifesto be a list of things we currently do that you want to keep doing. By contrast, the Labour eu manifesto was extremely detailed and mentioned brexit barely ever - quite rightly, because meps have little control over the brexit process at all. What it comes down to for me, ultimately, is that the lib dems had the power to stop the tory madness and they didn't - they got all excited about being in power and pissed all their principles away. Sure, milibands leadership of labour didn't help, but the lib dems actively and conciously and with no remorse colluded with and propped up the Tories. And in return they got nothing and were then duly destroyed at the ballot box for their disgusting betrayal. The tories could not have passed any of the horrible laws that they did between 2010 and 2015 without lib dem support. The lib dems are complicit in every single sin. I won't say they're as bad as the tories - the tories are possibly the most significant force for evil in the UK - but the lib dems very easily fell into the role of stupid patsies giving cover to the austerity-mad neoliberal house-price-obsessed right wing. Labours resurgence came after electing someone new and different and offering policies which are new and different. Lib dems are now feeling resurgent based solely on stopping brexit at any cost. The lib dems were never much more than "not one of the other two" and thus tended to attract the votes of people who know enough about politics to vaguely criticise the main two parties but don't know enough to have formed a broad consistent political opinion of their own. And now they're the same but on steroids, supported by people who think corbyn isn't opposing the tories properly and isn't standing up for remain enough, and who have been utterly unable to cope with the referendum result with any response other than putting their fingers in their ears and screaming for it all to stop. My opinion of lib dem voters, and perhaps this is unfair, is that they are people who want the country to be better but don't know how to do it. They are upset with the tories but don't know enough about politics and economics and the rest of it to come up with a fleshed out and coherent counter ideology. Nor are they seemingly capable of understanding or arguing with Labour's attempt to offer such an ideology, focusing instead on Corbyns personality (which is irrelevant) or painting labour as identical to the tories on brexit (which is patently untrue). When they do attempt to address the actual policies, often they just use the same tired arguments as the tories. The lib dems seem to be the dunning-kruger effect in full force - they're smart enough to think they know what they're talking about but not quite smart enough to realise that they actually don't.
At least the tories are trashed, hopefully they're done for good or at least a few decades. The only party offering genuine change for the good is Labour. And i am gonna be pretty pissed off if i don't get to see the trains renationalised in my lifetime because a huge number of uninformed twats, both leave and remain, are so blindly focused on the EU to the exclusion of all else and not even getting their facts right about that. Brexit or no brexit, the tories are killing this country and, brexit or no brexit, the only hope to stop them is a labour government.

Growing up sheltered and stupid is really freaking weird when you look at like political stuff on the internet because it’s all VERY confusing for somebody who was raised to believe that the world basically operates under Pokemon logic
But then, being curious and confused, you stop to think “why are people trying to censor the internet so hard”, because when I first heard about it years ago, what was it? SOPA or something? It was because “bluh HOLYWOOD wants their COPYRITES” or something
But looking at stuff nowadays, it just suddenly clicked in my head one day “w. wait, it’s probably because of the government wanting to limit people’s access to information so that there will be more uninformed voters, ie, more people who grew up like me, with no information, and the very limited information that was obtained was basically people saying “hey, those people over there? the ones whining because for some reason they can’t understand the SHEER PERFECTION of the status quo?? they’re bad guys and/or are brainwashed, I will tell you who to vote for and what to think so you don’t gotta be influenced by their EVIL””
And I am fairly certain this is like, EXTREMELY OBVIOUS to everyone else, but I only just realized it, and it kind of sent an ethereal sort of horror through my very existence.
The censoring hasn’t worked well in America, so they’re going after Europe.
THAT’S WHAT’S HAPPENING, ISN’T IT?????
AGH;;;;;
