Can anyone recommend a good brand of grippy sock/tight slipper? No; not for that reason. I’m kinda eh mentally but not necessarily in crisis (yet)…
The fake hardwood floors in this apartment are literal sensory hell to walk on. I can’t take my socks off and walk barefoot on them for two seconds without getting the worst fucking joint cramps in my hands and feet I’ve ever felt in my life. It’s like insta-gout, just add naked toes; but I don’t actually have gout (thank god)… it’s SOLELY from the texture of the floor. I’ve been wearing the same vampire bat socks for four days because I can’t bear to remove them unless my feet have been soaked in hot water before.
Also, the vampire bat socks for your amusement because the little guy is cute:

I THINK you probably sleep w socks on. You give “usually cold” vibes
and you would be absolutely correct! In the winter, I even wear two pairs.

carpet floors are cool and quiet but you ever think about the lil buddies living in there? the mini ecosystem? that you have been STEPPING ON??? families lost to your steps everytime you walk across the room pause listen to the tiny screams from beneath think about that oh little Germ has gone to their little school Germ waved goodbye to Germ’s parent Gunt who is identical to Germ but we’re gonna pretend they are different for distinguishability purposes and Germ is just silly swimming with their single tail in layers and layers of disgusting grime that they call home
aside from all that carpet owners you ever laid on the cold ceramic or marble or mirror smooth stone floor before like thats so comfy (me directing my suffering spirits to other peeps cuz my ceramic floor is kind of dirty i cant lay on it rn but i really want to)
