quick note - this blog is gonna be sparse again for at least this week. trying new medications and tbh initial side effects are not super pleasant + actual effects build up. as a result: currently as if unmedicated for mental health, with anxiety+ side effect, extra fatigue, dizziness, and fatigue. it's uh, sure something.
totally recognize that most of y'all know we're absent at times due to health things, just wanted to give a heads up that this one is at least anticipated.
#fun fact sometimes condensing meds just means poorer treatment of some conditions#this is a re-expansion + new thing#so that instead of poorly treating my mental health and using an unusually high dose SNRI for another (physical) condition#i will hopefully both be in less pain AND not depressed af AND also have an appetite again#i doubt i will be lucky and not have a fucked stomach due to meds but one can hope that an appetite will allow me to eat foods that upset#my stomach a lot less#my health is forever a massive balancing act#every time a medical thing is like 'so what meds do u take' i'm like here i wrote it down for u#and they're like 'oh. ooookay. let me just...' *five minutes of typing and clicking later*#'so! what did you come in for again? uhuh. you said you experience pain daily? with your chronic pain thing? hm. have you tried yoga?'#/gen#like. straight up every time i say 'i am in pain all the time due to fibromyalgia' they are like 'ooh studies say regular exercise helps'#and like. theoretically yes! but also. i would be lying if i said the fibromyalgia studies i've skimmed don't set off general 'bad science'#alarm bells in my brain#like... cool you performed a fibromyalgia study with... all male lab rats? mhmm? so are you aware fibromyalgia appears to occur#overwhelmingly in women? like. data seems to suggest between 70-85%?#(not that the data can't still indicate things but it certainly makes male rats a poor choice of model for tests on it)#also just... idk i've looked at some metaanalysis and been like 'okay cool theory and for all i know about human bio or bio in general that#sounds more or less correct BUT. you never discussed that one study on this subject that did NOT support your conclusion.#and that's 1) interesting when it was the most diverse group of subjects and the exceptions often teach just as much as the 'rule'#2) just shitty science. tell me how your theory is still credible when some evidence doesn't fit the model.#like... 'given that all other studies were primarily conducted on white american women in their 30s to 40s it is possible that this model#only explains (the early effects of fibro since that's a typical onset period) / (a possible genetic link primarily found in white women) /#(a possible sign of bias in diagnosis that demonstrates the possibility that there are different causes) / combinations of all of those#like... idk a paper that just throws out things that don't support it is a pretty big red flag#it doesn't mean the conclusion is entirely incorrect but it is often important to understand the context in which it applies#like... it's very easy to jump to an incorrect conclusion if you used something in the wrong context#ie: thumbs up is a good job / positive thing in a lot of western civilizations. teenage kee once went to china and discovered it to be#neutral to offensive in many areas outside of major tourist locations that were used to it#anyways i gotta sleep

there's really a unique flavor to the fear of seeking medical help because you're anxious the doctor won't believe you or think you're lying 💀
#life#hmm maybe i do have some trauma in the healthcare department who knows#it's just been exhausting living with pain and some doctors literally giving up after their first hypothesis doesn't check out#like my stomach (and esp duodenal) pain has been really impacting my life in the past couple of years#and my current doc hasn't even referred me to a gastroenterologist#or suggested an endoscopy#which is like.. standard for someone with a history of ulcers and gastritis#he instead focused solely on the lower abdomen#and sent me to do xrays and ultrasounds that showed sweet fuck all of course#even the ultrasound lady was surprised i was there#but yeah nah#when i phoned to ask about further tests or treatment the nurse literally said#“well the tests didn’t show anything wrong so i don't see the problem”#gah i'm just so tired because all those experiences just put me off trying#and it's just a hopeless feeling#it's like no one is listening no one cares about my pain

i have GOT to stop eating things i'm allergic to these foods are not giving me energy all they're doing is making my tummy hurt
#allergic to eggs and gluten#but i had ramen like 6 times in the last week#the pms cravings got my ass#also allergic to vanilla and beans and pineapple and a handful of other things#it wont kill me but the fatigue and stomach pain really isnt worth#not to mention the nausea#i wonder sometimes if i don't have crohns disease at all and just have these food allergies#bc my endoscopy only showed mild inflammation#technically i have microscopic/indeterminate colitis but if untreated it evolves into crohns or uc#and so based on my symptoms they call it crohns and are treating it as crohns#anyway since the inflammation was on the microscopic level it's entirely possible that it's just food allergies#which is still autoimmune mind you#but has a much easier treatment than crohns does#and i've noticed since i stopped gaffing abt my diet again my stomach hurts im having diarrhea im nauseous#hell my joints and head hurt again too#BUT i also havent been taking my meds so idk#i should talk to my doctor but i dont like him#so idk what to do#it's whatever

Me, earlier today: OK, so this COVID thing is (for me) nothing more than a massive rhinopharyngitis (which I get at least ten times each year, mainly between October and May - both included. I'm sick as a dog for two to four days and then I get better). That's not so bad!
Me, now: FUCK FUCKITY FUCK! Rhino. never 'caused my fibromyalgia to flare up (especially not that hard). I hate this!
#i should just shut up#the “fun” thing being that i can't take any painkiller other than paracetamol or occasionally ibuprofen#yep my whole treatment for my fibro is some fucking paracetamol!#and since it's bad for the liver i can't even take it to often or in too big a quantity#and ibuprofen tends to caused me nausea and other stomach pains#(and - of course - esomeprazole causes me way worse pain when it should relieve it so...)#anyway i hate to be ill#also i'm super cold which is soooo annoying

What is irritable bowel syndrome, what are the symptoms, and how is it treated?
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive illness affecting millions of people throughout the world. It is a disorder that affects the large intestine and can cause various symptoms such as stomach pain, bloating, and bowel habit changes.IBS can be difficult to treat, but understanding the symptoms and treatment choices can help people find relief and improve their quality of life.
Get Knowledge about IBS Being a functional gastrointestinal disorder, irritable bowel syndrome affects how the gut works as opposed to creating structural harm. Although the precise causation of IBS is unknown, some factors are thought to be involved. These include abnormal muscle contractions in the intestine, inflammation, and changes in the gut microbiome. Stress and certain foods can also trigger or exacerbate IBS symptoms.
Diet Tips for Dealing with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be particularly helpful in managing this condition. While IBS varies from person to person, some common triggers include dairy products, high-fat foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Identifying and avoiding these triggers is crucial for effective IBS treatment.
Symptoms of IBS
The symptoms of IBS can vary widely but typically include:
Abdominal Pain and Cramping: This is often relieved by bowel movements and can range from mild to severe.
Bloating: Many people with IBS experience a feeling of fullness or swelling in the abdomen.
Bowel Habits Changes: IBS can result in constipation, diarrhea, or a combination of the two.
Gas: Increased flatulence is another common symptom.
Mucus in Stool: Some people notice mucus in their stool, which is not usually present in healthy bowel movements.
It’s important to note that while IBS can be uncomfortable and disruptive, it does not cause permanent damage to the intestines or increase the risk of serious conditions like cancer.
IBS Treatment Options
Managing IBS effectively involves a combination of lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and sometimes medication. Here’s a comprehensive look at the various approaches to IBS treatment:
1. Dietary Changes
One of the most effective ways to manage IBS is by modifying your diet. Here are some dietary tips that can help alleviate symptoms:
Low-FODMAPS Diet: Less consumption of foods high in fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides, and polyols is recommended when following the Low-FODMAP diet. This diet has been shown to significantly improve IBS symptoms for many people. Foods for IBS and IBS-friendly recipes are key components of this approach.
Increase Fiber Intake: For those with IBS-C (constipation-predominant), increasing dietary fiber can help improve bowel movements. Foods like oats, fruits, and vegetables are excellent sources of fiber. High-fiber foods and a fiber-rich diet can aid in managing IBS-C.
Limit Trigger Foods: Identifying and avoiding foods that trigger symptoms is crucial. Common triggers include dairy products, fatty foods, and caffeine.
Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help with digestion and prevent constipation.
2. Medications
Several medications can be used to manage IBS symptoms, depending on whether you experience IBS-D (diarrhea-predominant), IBS-C (constipation-predominant), or a mix of both. Some options include:
Antispasmodics: The medicines work to relax the muscles in the stomach to reduce pain and cramping in the abdomen.
Laxatives: For IBS-C, laxatives can help promote regular bowel movements.
Anti-Diarrheal Medications: For IBS-D, medications like loperamide can help reduce diarrhea.
Fiber Supplements: Adding fiber supplements can help manage symptoms of IBS-C by providing additional bulk to stool.
3. Probiotics
Probiotics are good bacteria that can aid in reestablishing the gut microbiome's equilibrium. Some studies suggest that certain strains of probiotics can improve IBS symptoms by reducing bloating and pain. Probiotic foods like yogurt, kefir, and probiotic supplements are good sources of these beneficial bacteria.
4. Psychological Therapies
Since stress and anxiety can exacerbate IBS symptoms, psychological therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and stress management techniques can be beneficial. These therapies help individuals cope with stress and can improve their overall quality of life.
5. Lifestyle Modifications
A few lifestyle modifications, together with food and medication therapies, can help control IBS:
Daily Workout: Regular exercise can help control bowel movements and lower stress levels. Exercise for gut health is an excellent way to support digestion.
Adequate Sleep: Ensuring you get enough sleep is essential for overall health and can help manage IBS symptoms. Sleep and gut health are closely linked.
Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Practices such as yoga, meditation, and deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress and improve gut health.
Tips for Managing IBS
Managing IBS requires a personalized approach, as what works for one person may not work for another. Here are some more suggestions for dealing with IBS:
Keep a Food Diary: Tracking your food intake and symptoms can help identify specific triggers and patterns.
Consult with a Dietitian: A registered dietitian can help you develop a personalized eating plan and guide you through the Low FODMAP diet if necessary.
Stay Consistent: Consistency in dietary and lifestyle changes is key to managing IBS effectively.
Communicate with Your Healthcare Provider: Regular consultations with your healthcare provider can help adjust your treatment plan as needed.
Conclusion
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a manageable condition that can significantly impact the quality of life if left untreated. Understanding the symptoms and exploring various IBS treatment options can help you find relief and improve your well-being. By making informed dietary choices, considering medications and probiotics, and adopting lifestyle changes, you can manage IBS more effectively and lead a healthier life.
Remember, if you suspect you have IBS or are struggling to manage your symptoms, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and treatment. You may take charge of your digestive health and improve your quality of life with the appropriate strategy.

I love being in America where I have to decide if the pain of something clearly going wrong inside my body is urgent enough to risk getting COVID at an ER from sick people and doctors who are no longer masking and having to deal with a grossly inflated medical bill that I already know I can't pay because I have no insurance or income currently.
#digestive stuff again#had me passing out from pain earlier this morning on the bathroom floor cuz that shit was at a 9#and i almost gave in and told Selene to take me but it got a bit better after a bit so i didn't#and ive been sitting at like 5-8 range since then but smoking and laying down on my stomach or side helps take it down to 2-4 range#i was nauseous as fuck earlier too and that shit had me in a cold sweat when it got bad#my current guesses as to what is wrong are... idk diverticulitis maybe#and i don't know what to do about that if it is because I CAN'T AFFORD MEDICAL TREATMENT#LAND OF THE FREE#free to die in poverty#the pain is like around where im used to experiencing period pain#low low abdominal area but also is radiating around my sides and to my back#but unlike period pain it is not going away and it comes back with a vengeance anytime i need to use the bathroom#which is making me not want to eat or drink tbh#ndr#not dog related

#usually i like to think i am extremely well adjusted to what my health entails. usually lmao.#but specifically cancer sometimes feels like a goddamn anchor lmao.#stomach cancers are not even close to the only ones that could potentially go on for a lifetime w treatment#depending on situation. like this is a far more normal situation than ppl really realize i think.#i hadnt realized it before i was adjusting goal posts from 'cured' to '5yr mark' at least lol.#this is not bad. this could be signficiantly worse. this is not a bad situation all things considered.#but like sometimes i wonder what its like to be like. healthy lmao.#&when things dip its like. if this is a perma-up trajectory as far as difficulty goes it feels kind of. unfair that mine started#where it did&its just like. never gonna plateau lmao.#i question my fortitude sometimes. idk its been a long day&i havent burned thru the Bad mania yet lmao.#ill get high&itll be easier to see that w/o the pain lmao.#med change ups are never fun this one just happened at an unfortunate time in general probably.#i miss my dog. i miss all my dogs. i would have lost my mind w/o roxy lmao.#at least this time i can give him proper rites; i couldnt for yoshi or johnny. so ive been doing a full mourning period.#it hasn't put me in like. the most optimistic light as of late lol.#its weird. im being such a fucking baby about all of this lmao.#but like i also wasnt expecting unconditional love to be almost exclusive to my dogs#or for the ups&downs to still be so dramatic after all these years of figuring out treatments lmao.

Signs You Might Have a Gastrointestinal Disorder
A liver transplant is a life-saving procedure for people with severe liver disease or liver failure. The liver plays a vital role in filtering toxins from the blood, processing nutrients, and performing various metabolic functions. When the liver can no longer function properly due to conditions such as cirrhosis, liver cancer, or hepatitis, a transplant may be the only viable option. If you are suffering from liver-related issues or chronic gastro problems, consulting the best gastroenterologist doctor in Indore can help you explore treatment options, including liver transplantation. Let’s dive into the different types of liver transplants and how they can save lives.
1. Orthotopic Liver Transplant (OLT)
The most common type of liver transplant is an orthotopic liver transplant, where a damaged liver is removed and replaced with a healthy donor liver. The donor liver may come from a deceased person or a living donor. This procedure requires matching the donor liver with the recipient in terms of blood type, size, and other medical factors to ensure the transplant is successful.
In this type of transplant, the entire liver is replaced. The surgery is intricate and requires careful coordination between medical teams to ensure the liver is transported and implanted properly. Patients who undergo orthotopic liver transplants often recover fully and live long, healthy lives, provided they follow proper post-surgical care and medication regimens.
2. Living Donor Liver Transplant (LDLT)
A living donor liver transplant involves taking a portion of a healthy person’s liver and transplanting it into the recipient. Since the liver has the unique ability to regenerate, both the donor and recipient’s livers grow back to normal size within a few months.
This type of transplant has several advantages, including shorter waiting times compared to deceased donor transplants and reduced risks associated with organ transport. It’s a good option when time is of the essence, and a suitable deceased donor liver is not available. However, the donor must undergo extensive medical evaluations to ensure they are a good match for the recipient.
If you are in need of a liver transplant and experiencing symptoms like jaundice, nausea, or persistent abdominal pain due to liver issues or gas trouble treatment in Indore, consult a gastroenterologist to explore the possibility of a living donor transplant.
3. Split Liver Transplant
In a split liver transplant, a deceased donor's liver is divided into two parts and transplanted into two recipients. This method maximizes the use of donor organs, allowing more people to benefit from a single donor. Generally, one recipient is a child, and the other is an adult, as the liver is divided based on the size and requirements of the recipients.
While this approach is beneficial in terms of addressing organ shortages, it is technically complex. Surgeons must carefully split the liver and ensure both portions are functional enough to meet the needs of each recipient. As with other transplant types, long-term outcomes depend on several factors, including post-surgical care and immune system response.
4. Auxiliary Liver Transplant
An auxiliary liver transplant involves transplanting part of a donor liver into the recipient without removing the original diseased liver. This type of transplant is typically reserved for patients with acute liver failure who might eventually recover some function in their liver. The donor liver helps the body perform essential liver functions while the native liver regenerates.
If the patient’s liver recovers, the donor liver can shrink or be removed surgically. However, if the native liver does not recover, the transplanted portion continues to function as the primary liver.
When to Seek Treatment
If you are experiencing liver problems, whether due to chronic conditions like cirrhosis, hepatitis, or cancer, it’s crucial to consult the best gastroenterologist doctor in Indore. Early detection and timely intervention are key to improving outcomes, whether through medications, lifestyle changes, or a liver transplant.
Liver transplants can be life-saving for patients with advanced liver disease or liver failure. Understanding the different types of liver transplants—orthotopic, living donor, split liver, and a
