Hot off the presses: a pair of knitted wrist warmers for my sister-in-law!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Ignore my ugly hands that were never meant to model anything lol.)
Another worsted-weight, variegated yarn. Used the same yarn as I did for her hat that I made earlier:
Tumblr media
Simple garter stitch pattern. For each wrist warmer, I just made a rectangle, folded it, then knit the cast-on and bind-off edges together.
I might still make a cat toy for my sister and brother-in-law's cats since there's a few more days until Christmas. We'll see!
But otherwise, I'm done knitting Christmas gifts! Woo!

Aaron
The last few weeks had been… tense. Going back to work was fine and we still acted like a couple, don’t get me wrong. Yet, everything felt disgustingly different. The gifts hadn’t been working. The dates hadn’t been working. Every second of my days were spent thinking over what I’d said on that horrible night. Did I ask for an annulment? What was I thinking? I love you more than anything, I want you forever. Since the first date I’d known you were my girl, my forever girl. Every night I’ve been trying to make it clear to you that I want you. That I think you’re a good mother. Even the nights you'd stayed at Penelope's.
After Jack's birthday, you'd gone to Penelope's for 3 nights, I only saw you during the day at work, and even then you didn't look at me, let alone speak to me. You came home because you missed Jack.
Since then, you’ve been distant, focusing on work, or Jack more often than not. So I decided something.
I made all the distractions go away. Jack went off to his cousin's house, and I pulled us out of work for a full week, much to Strauss’s annoyance. Only thing is that I hadn’t told you.
Well, this better work.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Honey?” I cleared my throat, still groggy from waking up a few minutes prior. You weren’t in bed, you’d recently stopped our regular 5 minutes of hazy cuddling as we both wake up. My third favourite part of the day. My second favourite being when you come to me at 2:07pm everyday at work and give me a kiss, my first favourite being the kiss and hug you give me at the end of the day, just after tucking Jack in. All three had stopped in recent weeks.
“Yeah?” You called from the bathroom, doing your regular morning routine.
“I called us out of work,” I yawned and heard your quickened footsteps, then you appeared in front of me. You looked so beautiful, as always. A random and oversized t-shirt and a pair of shorts that left little to the imagination. I started to sweat just thinking about it.
“What? Why?! We have people who need our help, we have cases-” You started rambling as I got up and cupped your face, kissing you.
“Because I need you. I need you to be you again,” I whispered against your lips, hoping this would work. “So we’re going to have a nice few days, yeah? Today we have your appointment and we’ll have another talk. Then we can just relax for the rest of the week.”
“The week?” you stressed and I rolled my eyes, kissing you again. Your lips were so perfect. You’d brushed your teeth, not that I mind your morning breath. Not that I mind anything about you.
“Please,” I was begging and I wasn’t even ashamed. “Please honey,” I wrapped my hands around your waist, trying to persuade you.
“Aaron-”
“Don’t call me Aaron,” You’d stopped calling me the usual ‘baby’ or ‘darling’, or my favourite ‘love’. “Please. I want to be normal again. I don’t want this distance, I adore you more than anything.”
I could tell you felt conflicted. I hurt you. I know I did.
“Aaron,” another stab to my heart. “Fine, we’ll take this week off, and we can… talk.”
“Thank you my love,” I smile, pressing kisses along your exposed collarbone. You chuckled. I’d missed your laughter. I’d missed you.
“Ok baby, come on, I need to shower,” you giggled against me and I could feel my heart mending. Baby. I couldn’t stop the grin on my lips. I let go of you, but not before kissing you again. My perfect wife.
“Can I join?” I smirked, and you scoffed.
“Don’t push your luck Hotchner,” You chuckled. This was it. This is what it used to be. Flirty, loving, and fun. Before I ruined everything.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You
Forgiving Aaron was the easy part. Worrying if every parenting decision was the right one, was pure agony.
Is it wrong to say that like that? Should I have done this a different way? Was that right?
And your brain’s personal favourite:
What would Haley have done?
You were beating yourself up about it all for the past few weeks. You felt you had ruined Jack’s birthday with your own insecurities, since he’d asked if you were alright the day after.
Telling Jack you were pregnant was a highlight from the past few weeks. He was ecstatic to find out he’d be getting a little sibling. He already wanted to meet them and he understood that there would be times where either of you wouldn’t be able to play with him when his sibling arrived.
Aaron had been grovelling to the highest degree. Flowers once a week, date nights, house chores, taking paperwork from you so you don’t need to do it, getting any and all pregnancy cravings, and helping you deal with all your morning sickness and migraines.
It was maddening. You were going to go insane if you weren’t careful.
Yet, you felt like every second of every day was spent thinking about your parenting choices and just wondering if having another baby was even a good idea. Would your new child even like you? Would this ruin your relationship with Jack? What was going to happen when they grow up? Did Aaron really think your parenting is terrible?
Ok, so maybe you haven’t forgiven him just yet. Or at all.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You lay back in bed, a book in hand as Aaron pressed a soft kiss to your shoulder. You stared at the words on the page, trying to make sense of them when your brain was so clouded. Your levels of anxiety had risen greatly, which you both knew was not good for your baby. Aaron had been trying to lift some of the stress off your shoulders with his constant doting, but you knew that the stress was Aaron. From the moment you woke up to the minute you fell asleep, you felt like you were putting up a show. Being the perfect wife, perfect (probably shitty, you thought anyway) mother, perfect agent. It was exhausting. You wanted to go back to before, back to when you didn’t have to pretend everything was alright.
You pushed him off you and lay on your side, a regular occurrence. Aaron felt dejected. He’d hurt you so badly, and he didn’t know what to do to fix it.
“Baby?” he spoke into the room.
“Yes Aaron?” You answered.
“Do you still love me?” He asked in a small voice. He felt raw and full of emotion. Honestly, he was terrified of the answer.
“Do I still love you?” You scoffed. “I think I should be the one asking that. You were the one mentioning getting an annulment.”
“You know I didn’t mean it like that… I was just-” He tried but you shot out of bed, staring at him with an anger in your eyes he could only describe as animalistic.
“ 'You just' what Aaron? What?!” You squealed, all the emotions that you’d let build up, coming out at once. “I’ve been trying to be a good wife, to be a good mother for the past 4 fucking years Aaron. I have been that for you, I have been that for you and Jack, and I’m so happy to do it because I love the both of you more than anything! And all I ask in return is that you love and respect me! That is what you promised me on your wedding day! You didn’t fucking do that. You threw our marriage under the bus and compared me to your ex wife, the second you got slightly stressed. I’m sure Haley did a much better job than me Aaron, I’m sure she did! But I’m here Aaron. I love you. I love Jack. I have dedicated my life to the two of you, to our family! And now I feel like I’ve made a mistake in doing that, because the second you get overwhelmed, I’m in the first person that gets thrown under the bus?! To get reduced to nothing by you?! That’s not fucking fair Aaron, It’s not fair! And the worst part is that I fucking forgave you weeks ago, but I can’t forgive myself! I feel like such a shit mother every single day! I feel like I’m failing everyday, and that our baby will fucking hate me because it’ll somehow know that I’m the second choice! That it’ll know you’d rather be with someone who’s dead! So don’t come to me asking stupid fucking questions like that when you know the fucking answer Aaron. You don’t need to humiliate me more than you already have.”
You walked out of your shared bathroom, down the stairs into the living room, and sobbed your eyes out.
Aaron sat up in the bed, thankful that Jack wasn’t home today, but devastated by your words, and his actions. Why had he even brought up an annulment?
He couldn’t even begin to dissect the feelings he had when the bile in his throat suddenly came on and he had to run to the bathroom, and spill it into the toilet. Your words hit him like a knife, throwing his own words back in his face in the most disgusting way to do it, directed at you. You were an amazing mother, an amazing wife. And yet, you thought you were worthless. He had made you feel worthless. He felt terrible. He didn’t want Haley. Yes, he’d loved her for a long time, yes their divorce was heartbreaking. But he loved you now, and he didn’t ever want to take that for granted. He’d gotten two people who loved him unconditionally, two people who loved him enough to have a child with him, two people that would put themselves in harm’s way for him.
And he fucked it up. Twice.
He followed you downstairs, standing in the doorway as you sobbed into the couch cushions, then walked over and put a hand on your back. You didn’t push him off, that must be a good sign, right? He moved you to sit on his lap, your head in his shoulder as he calmed you down.
“I’m so sorry Y/n. I was awful to you. I don’t want an annulment, I never want an annulment. I know it sounds bad but I was just so used to Haley hanging a divorce over my head for so long, it just came out. You are who I want, who I would choose, every single time. You are a good mother. You’re going to be a good mother. I’m so sorry I ever made you doubt yourself. That I ever made you doubt me. I never want to hurt you like this again. This is the worst thing I’ve ever done, I’m so sorry,” he whispered against your skin. “I’m so sorry.”
You let out a half chuckle- half sob and pulled away. “Aaron, I need you to swear to me that you will never fucking bring up us breaking up again, unless you actually mean it.”
“I swear.”
“And I need you to promise me that you’ll work on stopping all the reactive bullshit we’ve been doing,” You sighed.
“I promise.”
“Then, I think we’ll be ok,” You smiled softly and kissed his cheek, settling your head back against his neck.
“So we’re ok again?” He asked hopefully.
“Not yet, no,” You stated and his hope vanished.
“Honey-”
“We will be, soon.”
He smiled again. You were his, always. Just as he was yours, always. Anything, you could get through.
Together.

Hey, are you feeling salty about STAR WARS for no reason whatsoever, just totally happened randomly, and want some fic that reflects the Jedi Order of the movies and TCW? Ones that are novel-length time travel fix-its to really make yourself feel better? Then I have some ones that I've been reading and really enjoying! Because I think maybe we could all use a bunch of fic to get lost in over the weekend, just 'cause. STAR WARS TIME TRAVEL FIC RECS: ✦ there is no death ashkav, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cal & quinlan & ocs & cast, time travel, 134.9k wip Darth Vader is a cataclysmic event, and Cal, delirious with pain, scrambles to catch the hilt of his saber as he begins to drag it out their corpses – and that’s what he and Cere are, corpses, with only a last few seconds of misfiring neurons left in them, no matter how much BD-1 trills and punches stim after stim into his arm – they are tipping past that point of no return now, and Cal needs to do something right now before it’s too late for – for what?
✦ Take it from the top and try again by mauvera, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & padme & mace & dooku & cast, time travel, 142.3k wip     Five years into his self imposed exile on Tattooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi is gifted the chance to go back and bring hope back to the galaxy. With hindsight on his side, he fully intends to save his master, save his padawan, make some new and old friends again, prepare the Jedi for a war they’ll hopefully never see and begin to pull apart all the many tangled threads of the Sith Lord’s plans. Should be relatively easy. Right?
✦ Let Go by Micillyn, qui-gon & obi-wan & anakin & padme & cast, time travel, 101.5k Qui-Gon did not expect to die on Naboo. Nor did he realise that by insisting for Anakin to be trained as a Jedi, the boy would one day fall and become Darth Vader. Foresight, it seems, did not confer the gift of infallibility, yet if it took all those tragedies to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the Force and hope to the galaxy, then perhaps it wasn't so bad after all. Or, the story as happened in the movies is the fix-it, and this is the story of the disaster that happened before the time-travel happened.
✦ a distant fire is burning by e_va, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & cal & cast, time travel, 47.4k wip Cal Kestis can move backwards in time (kinda-sorta-not really), and his confrontation with Darth Vader in the Fortress Inquisitorius plays out a lot differently. Fixing the timeline while stuck in his 10-year-old body will be quite the task, but Cal is up to it. He has to be.
✦ Reprise by Elfpen, obi-wan & anakin & qui-gon & mace & cast, time travel, 558.9k wip Ben Kenobi dies aboard the Death Star in the year 0 BBY. He wakes up shortly thereafter in the Jedi temple in the year 41 BBY. Haunted by memories and regret, Ben must forge a new path for himself in the Jedi Order of his youth while navigating the murky waters of time travel. Crafting a better future from bitter experience is hard, but learning to heal is even harder. Major AU.
✦ Unexpected Awakening (The Rewrite) by Rhiw, obi-wan & qui-gon & anakin & feemor & bruck & jango & cast, time travel, 135.1k wip     The life of General Kenobi is cut short at the hands of his Padawan, but the sight that greets his eyes upon awakening is not that of blinding light of the Force, but the Jedi Temple he knew when he was still a youth. As he struggles to understand the path laid out before him, Obi-Wan unwittingly captures the attention of a singularly unusual Temple Guard, and that of a reluctant Qui-Gon Jinn.
✦ Averting Galactic Destruction by kj_feybarn, obi-wan & anakin & quinlan & rex & cody & fives & dogma & wolffe & plo & shaak & dooku & sidious, time travel, 44.3k     AKA The Time the Force Sent Obi-Wan Back in Time and Quinlan Vos kept him from Going Kamikaze because let’s be Honest, Being Forced to Come Back in Time Would Suck.

This is such a telling page for Ford. Not only does he detail his social missteps and admit to being lonely in Gravity Falls, despite the scientific wonder of the place, but he also uses what I call "Fordese 2," a scrambled version of the "Fordese 1" code we were first introduced to in Journal 3 to label himself a "six-fingered freak" and to state that "Stanley would have made her laugh." (Her, being the waitress Ford tries out his nerdy science joke on, which goes down like a lead balloon despite the fact that it is legitimately funny, given the right audience).
It's like Bill says. "Ego of a king. The insecurity of a circus freak. And totally isolated..." (Funny enough, Bill could probably turn those exact words on himself, as well.)
Ford so wanted Gravity Falls to be the place where he'd finally fit in, the puzzle to his misshapen puzzle piece.
Tumblr media
And as we see in the missing Journal pages from BoB, that was not to be the case. And worst of all? Ford blames it on his hands at first, but the reality is that he says that "Stanley could make her laugh," meaning Ford's "freakishness" (as he would put it) has less to do with his six fingers and much more to do with Ford's personality and the way he interacts with others.
This is actually worse. Fingers, you can fix, if you want to. By the time you're an adult, most people probably wouldn't care. But to Ford, his fingers seem to be more a manifestation of something internal, something he feels is fundamentally broken about him and that's just the absolute worst hell to be stuck in.
So yeah, it's hardly surprising Ford fell so hard for Bill's shenanigans (and you can define "fell so hard" however you want, although that karaoke page in BoB is especially damning). Here's an interdimensional being who not only can guide you to unlocking the secrets of the universe and propel you towards scientific fame and glory (and thus shoving every taunt, invective, side-eye, and eye roll ever hurled at you over the decades down your tormentors' throats) - but he's (on the surface) completely glib about being a freak himself.
Tumblr media
For Ford, this must have been like finding a shady, sparkling oasis after thirty years of trawling through the desert (especially after Stanley's "betrayal" - Stanley, who along with Fiddleford, being the only person Ford felt like he could be himself around and still be accepted as a human being).
Now, is Bill trying way too hard to show how much he doesn't care? Uhhh, yeah. Bill has almost the same hangups as Ford. Labeled a freak for a genetic mutation and ostracized by his peers. Has a rare gift in that he can see not only into the third dimension but can see even past that, into possible dimensions and futures, which is a wild skill to have. Compare this with Ford's gigantic science brain and academic overachievement. Same deal. And not only this! Bill, in an attempt to prove what he can do with his "freakishness," to prove his worth and place in the universe - he tries to show off something to the denizens of his dimension (we don't know yet what Bill did), only to end up slaughtering his entire dimension. Ford was a hair's breath away from doing the exact same thing with the portal. Because we know from Journal 3 that part of his motivation is to be famous and get accolades for his work, and that maybe "girls will finally talk to me." (Which, Fordsy, let's be real here - I don't think you're actually into these "girls" for real, but you want the acceptance that comes with fitting in with societal standards, and getting a state-sanctioned girlfriend is exactly the type of thing Ford would want to make himself feel "normal.")
Anyway, the point being that if Ford had succeeded with his initial portal attempt, he would have basically wiped out his own dimension. Just. Like. Bill. And it makes you wonder - yeah, yeah, Bill wanted to party, Bill needed out of the Nightmare Realm, Bill's a psychopath who enjoys destruction.
But honestly? I think part it all was that Bill wanted someone like him. His own puzzle piece. Another monster. A being whose collateral damage in the quest to justify their existence in this universe ends in wholesale slaughter.
And Ford had the capacity to easily fit that mould.

Not Just Friends - 4 -
Tumblr media
M.List : Prologue : Part 1 : Part 2 : Part 3 : Not edited : 3.8k words
Childhood best friends turned into something more, at least with the label. Katsuki Bakugo, a fast-rising hero and fast-learning guy who is ever so slow in getting attached to and loving someone. Even three long years into a relationship, and your friends even forget you're even dating. Nothing happening, spare a few kisses.. like 3 kisses, during high school. Graduated and living together, and you guys have done absolutely nothing to further the relationship. Are you sure you're not just friends? CW: Smut, brief domestic violence discussion, virginity loss, aggressive flirting from creeps, gore with pro hero stuff (lmk if i missed any) Applies to all chapters regardless of it is in said chapter.
You've spent the past week working through Katsuki's watch. Only putting it down when handed a time restricted request for a support item fix. Testing the quirk removing feature on Mei and a few others around. Since you couldn't remove your own, at least you wouldn't realize until a week or so.
Once all the kinks were worked out, you placed it in a nice sleek black watch box. Tying it closed with a burnt orange ribbon. You were giving it to him as a gift, just like all the other watches you've given him in the past. This one just a lot more expensive and fully designed by you.
It was already Friday by the time the watch was done, completing two days before you said you would.
Friday's were also the days that Katsuki worked at his own agency a couple blocks away. So after getting a cab to his agency, you walked through the door. Instantly being recognized by the security team for the office and being allowed through with only a quick screening, just in case someone was pretending to be you. You smiled at the receptionist, giving a quick wave before you headed to the elevator.
After pushing in the button for the top floor, the floor that only held him and his closest heroes, you opened your phone to check the time. It was right before his lunch started, which meant he would likely be getting out of the showers. He always took a shower after first patrol and once getting home.
The task of looking at your phone made you think of making yourself a watch, maybe with a support item for yourself incase within. Break-ins for support items were getting a lot more common now days and you couldn't be safe enough. With nanotechnology you could probably make an upgraded suit to the one you've made in high school, that shared many similarities to Iron-man's.
Before you could ramble in your own brain about the idea anymore, you reached Katsuki's floor. Stepping out of the elevator and greeting his manger who was sitting just outside Katsuki's office in his own desk.
"How's your day so far, Tanaka?" you smiled at him.
He looked up at you, "I work with Dynamight," he said plainly and looked back down to his monitor. He reminded you of Shoto that way. Blunt and straight to the point.
You laughed lightly, "Right, he can be a lot." You looked around the office for a moment, "I'm assuming he is still in the showers."
"You'd be correct," his monotone voice would of made you feel stupid if you didn't know him. He's always like this, never changing his tone. He was always one steady mood, it's the main reason Katsuki chose him. Tanaka wouldn't get upset, but rather not take no as an answer. Which Katsuki hated but needed at the same time. It helped his press a lot.
You rocked on your heels for a moment, "Well, I'm going to wait in his office."
"Wait," he paused you, his face slightly paled. He looked stressed.
"What?"
"He told me not to let you in there without him," he answered, face back to normal without the threat of you going in the office.
Your brows furrowed, "Why?"
He shrugged, "Just made it clear to not let you in."
"Okay?" you stood confused on what to do. Kirishima wasn't in the office yet, and neither was Denki or Sero. It was the main reason Katsuki had lunch at this time. "Do you have anything I can help on then?"
He looked at you from over his glasses, "I suppose. Do you think he is more likely to do an interview with Heroes' Gossip or a fan signing at a Hero Expo next week?"
Katsuki hated both those things. Heroes Gossip was exactly that, heroes' gossip, and it got into the nitty gritty details. People who did well on that show were Heroes like Denki and Sero, ones with enough charm to by pass and person questions. Katsuki only went on once, and it was a train wreck, they brought up the details of his childhood with Deku and you. Asking how he felt about the idea of you and Izuku dating. It set him off.
On the other hand, he hated standing or sitting in one area for too long, especially signing things for fans all day long. It was hell on earth for him. He'd have to deal with fan girls trying to grab at him as well as older people criticizing his work.
"I think a Hero Expo might be better, as long as there isn't a hero he hates there and it isn't longer than three hours," you gave your feedback.
"You don't think he's over the last interview?" Tanaka rubbed at his eyes under his glasses.
You hummed, "He likely is, but that doesn't mean that it won't happen again. It'd be another PR nightmare."
"What is?" you looked towards the voice. Giving Katsuki a bright smile.
"Just you," you teased.
"Fuck off," he grumbled, walking past you and to his office door.
"Am I allowed in now?" you stepped alongside him.
Katsuki looked at his manger, giving him rare look of appreciation, and opened his door, "Yeah, Tanaka got food for a us a little bit ago. Should still be warm."
He opened the door for you, letting you walk in first and stepping in behind you, letting the door fall shut.
"What's up with the extra chair?" you pointed towards the chair that sat to the side that matched the one at his desk.
He walked towards the chair, grabbing in at rolling it to sit on the other side of the desk, "Yours, you always fuckin' steal mine."
You flushed at the gift. It was a open invitation into his office. It showed your place next to him. You ran your hand over the top of the chair, spinning it around to see the small details of your favorite color in the stitching. He custom ordered it.
"Thank you," you smiled at him, "You're the best." Finally, you take a seat and rolling it closer to his desk in order to eat. Setting your bag down next to you.
He flushed at the praise. "Tanaka got some of the food you likely from down the street," he pushed a takeout box near you. You instantly opened it, seeing it filled with your favorite order. It was a small sushi bar that you went to often, loving their rolls. Kirishima showed it to you after Fat Gum showed him.
You cracked open a pair of chopsticks that were left on top of the takeout box. Quickly looking to see that he was already digging in, obviously starving from work. "Busy day?" you asked picking up some food and eating a bite.
"Two bank robberies from one group. Pain in my ass," he grumbled, quickly scarfing down more food. After he physically couldn't fit more food in his mouth, he swallowed and drank some water before adding, "Got their asses though."
You nodded along, eating your food at a normal human pace.
"You do anything?" he put picked up another sushi roll in his chopsticks, dipping it in a spicy soy sauce.
The watch in you bag basically burned you with how quickly you remembered about it. Excited to finally give it to him. Before the look could wash over your face, you schooled your features. "Just normal work, Mei blew up some of her new project, so that was something." You were slightly surprised he hasn't brought up his watch to you recently. But you figured it was because his quirk calmed down a little, you haven't seen it act up since Tuesday.
"Isn't she always doing shit like that?" he asked, pointing his chopsticks at you.
"Yeah," you laughed. Looking down at his box you saw he only had two pieces left when he order two full rolls. "God damn vacuum cleaner," you laughed at him.
"Fuck off," Katsuki barked, "I was fucking workin' my ass off today."
"Still, god damn," you often teased him for how fast he eat compare to you. While he was on his last bites, you still had five to go. It wasn't that you were a slow eater, he was just a insane person.
He bit down on the last bites of food. Grumbling and crossing his arms. Proving whatever point he had.
Katsuki went on about his day as you finished up your food, going over how the chase went and what quirks the people had. It was the normal conversation of your lunches. He shared what he could about his job and you did the same.
Once you were done, he grabbed your take-out and threw away your trash. Harshly falling back into his chair, black with orange lining, matching yours.
You looked over his face, idly listening to him go own about his day as you admired him. He had a scar covering the right side of his face. Looking at it too long reminded you of what happened that day. The thought made you want to through up. Quickly, you pinched the fat of your thigh, reminding yourself of the present. You often went into thoughts like these. It was painful but the life of a pro heroes girlfriend.
Rather than dwell on his injury, you looked over the rest of him. His eyes were bright with a fire as he explained how he saved a kid from being buried in cement. You looked over the broad length of his chest, watching it rise with his breathing. Scanning down his arms till you saw his rough fingers drumming across the desk. All the small ways the proved he was alive.
"You good?"
The sudden question knocked you out of thought, you plastered on a smile, "Yeah."
His face scrunched up. before he could call bullshit you moved to reach for your bag.
"I actually brought you something too," you move your hand around your bag before you brought up the watch case. You placed it in the middle of the desk. His face was blank but his eyes were running over the box like crazy. You pushed it towards him when he didn't make a move for it, "Open it."
He glanced up at you, receiving a nod of encouragement, before he grabbed the box. Despite being a rough person, in attitude and everything else, he undid the box as carefully as possible. Sliding the ribbon off and opening the box slowly, as it would shatter.
His hands started shaking at the sight of it. In fear of dropping it, he rushed to place it back on the table. Frantically wiping his hands on his pants.
"Do you like it?" you questioned, worried from his reaction.
"How does it work?" he replied instead, picking it up and putting on his right hand.
Relieved that he liked it enough to immediately wear it, you leaned to point at the watch. "So if you twist this dial to the left one click, then to the right two clicks, and then back to the left for three click, you will have it unlock for identification, " you explained the detailed process. He wanted to make sure that no one else could unlock it and you made sure of it. Even you couldn't activate it once you set passwords in place. "Finally, see how it says 100% that's what your quirk is at right now, so turn it to zero and see how you feel," you sat back in your seat, watching him turn the dial.
He looked like a kid on Christmas as he spun it to 0%, his eyes flicked to you, "So I can try to use my quirk and it won't work?" You nodded.
With the dial at 0% he immediately felt the difference, the constant buzz of his quirk washing away, leaving just the buzz of your presence to warm him. He raised his hand outwards, still weary as he tried to set off his quirk, getting no spark or feeling of it at all. He tested a stronger explosion but received none.
"It fuckin' works," he smiled almost wolfish. You could see the ideas running though his brain at the lack of spark.
He played with the dial a little bit, seeing how the 20% and 40% suppressed his quirk. You glanced at the clock above his desk, seeing your lunch almost up. You'd have to leave soon if you wanted to stay on schedule. "Will this help your quirk training?" you asked, making sure he got what he needed.
"Huh?" he looked down at you from where he was standing and testing his quirk.
"You asked Z' about it for quirk training, that and your quirk's been weird," you filled in the gaps, lost as to how he didn't understand what you were talking about.
He let out a cough followed by a nervous laugh, "Yeah, should work great."
You shot him a look at his odd behavior, picking up your bag and standing to leave.
"What's your plans tonight," he fumbled with his words slightly.
"None?" you hiked the bag better unto your back, grabbing your phone so you could place an uber back to your agency. You didn't have your walking shoes on today. "I was just going to head home and read," you finished answering, "Why?" You quickly finished placing an uber before looking back up at him, confused once again.
His face flushed, " Ramen then? At out favorite spot," he stumbled to add on.
Your face softened. That was your main date spot, only used on highly celebrated dates or anniversaries. "Why there?"
"Just want to have a date with you," he mumbled, face now bright red.
"That happy about the watch? Kats you don't need to take me to dinner, I make you support gear all the time," you stepped closer to him, having been separated by his desk before he stepped around to you as well.
"You wanna go or not?" he huffed, fed up with being embarrassed.
"We don't need to-"
"Do you want to? Cause I want to," he cut you off, he crossed his arms as he leaned into his desk, you standing in front of him.
"Sure," you held back the tease, not wanting to set him off.
"Good, we'll leave home at seven," he pushed off from the desk, walking you out to the door.
You smiled at him, "See you then."
---
The ramen joint was fancy and hidden. Hardly anyone went there if they didn't want extreme privacy. It was something you and Katsuki quickly learned that you needed in your relationship. The public didn't fully know about your relationship, but they did know you two were close and childhood friends. So people speculated off that. So to avoid rumors, Katsuki and you went to hidden gem restaurants.
This ramen joint being a favorite, it was lit purely off candles or warm low lights. It was one of the only, if not the only, romantic restaurants that you two went to. Cozy lights with a dress code of formal.
So the two you walked up to the door, Katsuki offering a hand to help you up the stairs before the restaurant. While your heels and dress didn't make it too difficult, it was nice that it was offered. After grabbing his hand, you expected him to let go at the top of the stairs, but he led you through the restaurant, following the hostess and dragging you along.
Only when at the table he let go. Once the waiter got your drink orders Katsuki fumbled with his hands, "Thanks for the watch."
"Kats, it's nothing," you laughed off, "I've made you many support items, I don't know why you're so happy about this one." His face flushed at the call out. It really confused you, he seemed thrilled that he could turn off his quirk. It was honestly sad. Before you could ask anymore, the waiter gave you your sake and water before taking your food order. The service was great, but annoying for conversation currently.
"Just noticed the detail in this one," he shrugged, "fits me well and shit."
Now he was trying to play it cool? It was all weird.
"Are you sure you're telling me everything?" you accused.
"How was work this week? We spent lunch talkin' 'bout mine," he redirected the conversation.
You shot him another glare at his weird behavior, you'd figure him out eventually. For now you'd have a nice dinner with him.
---
Dinner was just that. Nothing much more. Service was great, so was the food, but conversation was horrible. He dodged any question towards himself, even if it was small. It was all about you and it felt wrong, in a strange way.
The two of you walked the short way back to your apartment. But with looking up at the sky, you regretted that decision. Small water droplets cover the sidewalk slowly. The rain painting it slowly. The streets were empty at only 9pm, you should of taken that as a sign of bad weather. Regardless, the two of you continued walking, him grabbing your hand once out of the restaurant. It was weird, but you let the thought fade at the chance to hold unto him for a little longer.
You swayed in your steps taking up the sidewalk as you stretched your arm to stay linked with Katsuki. He gave you a smile at your behavior. Making you flush and focus more heavily on your step. It reminded you of the romance movies the described this exact situation. A couple walking in the rain, late at night, streets empty as they confessed their love.
Katsuki tugged you towards him, spinning you into his hold, his hand letting go of your and grabbing onto your hips and you leaned into him. Your hands resting on his chest from surprise at the sudden change.
"You got that look on your face again," he smirked down at you. While used to his smile over the years, his smirk still made you weak in the knees.
"Huh?"
"You have a face you make when your thinking on your shitty romance movies," he pointed out.
"I do not," you pouted.
"Yeah it's like this," he scrunched him face to mimic yours horribly.
"Is not," you slapped his chest lightly, "I'd be surprised if you dated me while I made that face."
"Uh huh?" he teased, "cause it was spot on."
You rolled your eyes, face red from being in his hold.
"So what were you thinkin'?" he pushed, squeezing your hips slightly.
"Just all those movies with couples," you dodged until he squeezed again. "Fine, couples kissing in the rain, happy?"
His face flushed, matching the red hue on yours, before he looked up to avoided your stare. You were surprised he was holding you in general, but the fact he hasn't let go truly stunned you. Hugs between you two didn't last longer than a couple seconds. And this was a lot more romantic than a hug.
"Do you wanna?" he looked back down, his eyes tracing over your face between landing on your lips.
"Wh..what?" you stuttered. He looked back up to your eyes.
"Do you want to kiss?" he spelt out for you, face becoming impossibly redder.
"Yeah," you breathed out, looking down to his lips before both your eyes shot to look at each other. Making sure this was okay.
The tension was shooting through your bones. He hasn't offered to kiss since graduation, which was over a year ago.
He pulled his hand away from your waist and up to your face, wiping away the rain that fell on your cheek before he slowly leaned in. You eyes fluttered shut before you felt his lips hit yours. Instantly melting into the new feeling.
Every time before he was either freshly from the hospital or the two of you were excited and let it run you into a kiss that only lasted a moment before you were off running to friends and family during graduation.
Your knees caved slightly, letting you fall even deeper into the kiss, deeper into him, as you tilted your head. The kiss was just like him, explosive. It left you buzzing as he pulled away for a breath.
He rested his forehead against yours, closing his eyes before breathing out heavily, "I'm sorry we don't do that often enough."
Your once closed eyes shot up, you slightly pushed away from him, "What?"
He furrowed his eyebrows, "I just wish I haven't been holding that out of our relationship."
You pushed yourself out of his hold, stepping back, "Katsuki Bakugo."
"What?" he almost demanded.
"I told you that I was fine without physical touch. I've been fine without it. Yet the second you've found out, you've been weird," you pushed a finger into his chest, "Now your kissing me, saying sorry? How do you think that makes me feel?"
He shook his head, "I don't see the problem."
"Of course you don't," you basically lectured, "Our relationship has been steady. Sure it hasn't been typical, but it's been us. Yet the second someone mentions that I like touch, you've been all weird."
"I want to make you happy? Is that fuckin' horrible?" Katsuki huffed.
You scoff, "No, but you were already making me happy. Now you are doubting our relationship, not telling me about your quirk issues, and worst of all, pushing yourself when I didn't ask. If you aren't ready for things that's fine! If your never ready, that's also fine. I just want you Katsuki. I want the you that doesn't give two fucks about what anyone thinks."
His head hung, his hands coming up to rub at his face. "I don't know how to fuckin' do this shit," he mumbled.
You stepped closer to him, "Just stop worrying about every little thing. I'm with you, you don't have to win me again. Just do what you want and I'll tell you if I have an issue."
"And what if what I want is to kiss you more and other stupid shit," he muttered under his breath.
Your face flamed with the comment, "Well," you cleared you throat, "if that's what you want, then I'd be happy to. But only if it's what you actually want."
"Of fuckin' course it is, why wouldn't I want to kiss my damn girlfriend," his wolfish grin was back quicker than ever as you pulled you into him. Quickly getting over the little spat the two of you just had.
"I don't know, you haven't wanted to before," you shrugged in his hold.
"Oh I've wanted to," he protested.
"Then why haven't you?" you tilted your head.
"Reasons," he took your held tilt as an opening, slotting his lips against yours. You slapped at his shoulder for dodging the question but you quickly moved to wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in closer. He hugs you closer as he swayed the two of you in your kiss. Letting the rain soak the two of you to the bone without a second thought. Only worried about the one in front of you. Any worry dripping out of your soul just as the water dripped out of your clothes. Because even though he hated the rain, he loved you more.

Hurry Back Home
Tumblr media
Summary: The four times you showed up at Bucky’s place unexpected.
Part 1
The first time was a month after the two of you broke up. Once your red rimmed eyes depuffed from the constant tears and you managed to get his name out. Your friends had come over once or twice to check up on you but you’d always lie.
“Thank you for stopping by but really, I’m okay.” You lied when they came by the first time, resting your body on the doorframe and keeping the door close to you so they wouldn’t see your Bucky covered apartment. You still hadn’t taken the pictures down, hadn’t washed your sheets because you could still catch a glimpse of his cologne and you sure as hell hadn’t stopped wearing the Henley he kept at your place. The one you were currently hiding underneath a big sweatshirt.
Of course they didn’t believe you but it was always better to give you some space.
“Call us whenever and we’ll be here.” One of your friends said, you nodded and closed the door.
You deeply regretted living in an apartment with paper thin walls when you heard your other friend say: “I really thought those two were endgame.”
But now, I’d been a month and it seemed like the sun was ready to shine again. The pain still felt unbearable but it was most likely because Bucky was still imprinted in your apartment. So one Sunday morning, you grabbed a cardboard box and decided enough was enough. Almost with closed eyes as to not relive the good memories, you started chucking everything that reminded you of him.
Goodbye rubber spatula Bucky melted half to death the first time he cooked you breakfast. Sayonara to the broken picture frame he’d glued back together after slamming your body against the wall that time you two came back tipsy and horny from the bar. Farewell to the plush blanket he insisted you needed in your living room the day your heater went out. Would it be too over the top if you brought the heater back to its broken state because he fixed it?
As you passed through the kitchen, you saw the small plate Bucky gave you when you went to that pottery class. A lopsided dish he’d made too oval and too deep to actually be useful but with the way his tongue poked out in concentration as he made, it there was no way you could tell him it wasn’t perfect. He hadn’t let you see his final design but a few days later, after it had been fired, you finally saw what he had painted. At the center of the plate, in his almost illegible messy handwriting, read: This is a plate, -Bucky <3.
You shoved the dish all the way back inside one of your kitchen drawers, not wanting to think about it anymore but not wanting to throw away such a meaningful gift. Not yet.
You grabbed another smaller box and shoved all the clothes Bucky had left behind over the months. A couple of Henleys, some underwear, his leather jacket, and the gloves he’d stopped wearing.
“Not today, Doll.” He’d smiled, lowering your hands holding the leather gloves. “I don’t need them when I’m with you.”
Before you could think about it too much, you opened your door and walked over to his apartment with his things. You dropped the box at his doorstep and turned to leave but you heard his locks turn.
A gasp got caught in your throat and you were almost positive your heart missed a beat. The plan wasn’t to see him, you weren’t ready to see him. Maybe you could make a run for it? But it would be too obvious! You’ll look ridiculous! Maybe you can play dead? It works for dogs!
But before you could make a decision, you heard his voice. The sweet tone he reserved just for your ears, soft and comforting.
“Hi.” His smile was small not reaching his eyes. “How are you?”
You tried to swallow the lump in your throat and nod. “I’m okay. I thought it was time to drop your things off.”
“Oh,” His usual crystal blue eyes now adorned an all too familiar red hue, the bags under his eyes big and purple. But before you could feel sorry, a cheery voice appeared from the inside of his apartment.
“We should be leaving soon.” A woman came into view, her tactical suit showed you she worked with Bucky but the way her arm rested on his shoulder showed you she’s more than just a coworker. “Wouldn’t want to miss our reservation.”
You didn’t let your mouth drop to the floor just out of pure pride.
How could I have been so stupid to think Bucky wasn’t over me yet? You thought.
You kicked the cardboard box lightly with the tip of your shoe. “Just wanted to drop off your things.”
Bucky’s eyebrows furrowed, your sudden change of demeanor confused him. But your eyes pingponging from the box to him to Jessica gave him more answers than he needed. He started shaking his head, wanting to explain to you that Jessica didn’t know who you were and that’s why she was saying they were going out. He wanted to explain that the only reason she was in his apartment was because she had to borrow some unmarked guns for her mission. He especially wanted to explain to you that Jessica wasn’t interested in guys like him- actually she wasn’t interested in guys at all!
“You can keep or throw out anything you have of mine, I don’t want it.” You said rolling your eyes, turning to leave but he held your elbow wanting to get even a single word in. But he didn’t get a chance to say anything.
You tugged your arm back and left, closing your apartment door with a bang.
The second time was a few weeks after you had given Bucky his belongings. You’d started watching the news again, not caring whenever they showed a picture of him. At least that’s what you told your friends. You finally returned to your favorite coffee shop, even though it hurt when the barista asked where your boyfriend was. You’d managed to say it was just you this time but were too distracted with your own thoughts to see the glimmer in the guy’s eyes when you said it.
Today was an especially important day, your first run since the breakup. You welcomed the familiar burn in your lungs and the feeling of freedom. You jogged up to the door of your apartment just to see a brown paper bag with your name on it. You eyed it quizzically, looking around to figure out if you could spot who left it. But inside was a harmless coffee with a note written on the side: What’s a morning run without your morning coffee?
At first it made you smile, thinking about all the times you would drink coffee with Bucky. A little slice of normalcy and routine in his otherwise chaotic world. That ritual the two of you created was one of the only things he could control.
But the sweet thoughts turned sour as you remembered the blonde’s arm on Bucky. Who the hell does he think he is? He can go out and date but you? You have to be constantly reminded of the relationship?
I don’t fucking think so.
You marched up the stairs straight to his door and banged on it three times. You didn’t mind the time, you knew he was up since sunrise.
No answer. You brought your fist up to the door again and knocked five times, your patience running thin and your energy low.
A few seconds later a messy haired groggy Bucky opened up, rubbing his eyes with the back of his palms.
“You were asleep?” You forgot why you were here in the first place, more concerned about the fact that your ex-boyfriend who never slept in past 5:45 and was now barely waking up at 8 am! Had he not been sleeping at night? Was he getting nightmares again? Was he benched from the team?
“Was, past tense.” He yawned. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
His kind blue eyes convinced you for a second but the coffee in your hand reminded you of your anger.
“I wanted to hand deliver this.” You pushed the coffee into his chest. “And to tell you that these mind games you’re playing are not working. I’m done, we’re done. So don’t come here wanting to stir up things that have been buried. We used to drink coffee after our runs but not anymore, not together at least! So stop it, and I don’t want it.”
Bucky’s eyes widened as he looked down at the drink in his hands. You’d left him speechless. Truthfully, leaving the big and scary Winter Soldier inarticulate did wonders for your self-esteem-
“Did you read the other side of the cup?” Bucky asked in an annoyed tone.
“What?”
He rolled his eyes and turned the cup, bringing it close to your face. “The back of the coffee says: Come into the coffee shop for a free pastry and a date – Jack.”
You felt your face blush, heat consuming your whole body.
“I-when- I didn’t read-“ You stammered.
“Are we done here?” Bucky raised his eyebrows. “I’m sure you’re getting flooded with date propositions but could we keep the ‘bragging about it to your ex’ to a minimum?”
You furiously nodded and whispered a small: “Sorry about that.”
The third time was four months after the breakup. You thought you were doing great, making progress. You’d been on a date or two that didn’t amount to anything but it counted, right? Everything seemed normal until you heard about the last mission.
You had turned on the TV and the news station was doing a 24hr coverage of a rescue mission. Something about super soldier serums being reproduced and hostages being taken. You didn’t need to see him on the screen to know he was there. An unusual feeling gnawed at your chest.
Before, when you were dating, you would get anxious about him going on missions but this time it was different. Like you knew something bad was going to happen.
And then you saw the coverage, the warehouse had been wired with explosives. Every wall blown up into ashes. “There have been no survivors until now.” The newscaster said.
Your heart races thinking of him. This can’t be true, right? You know there’s no possibility of him not being there, he’s the one who is supposed to handle super soldiers for fucks sake! But the thought of him not making it is out of the question. You cannot even process the information. A shocking sob rips through your chest as you hear the total fatalities number rise.
You had wanted to be informed of everything happening but at some point in the night, you fell asleep with the TV turned on. A faint noise woke you up, your senses heightened to a thousand. You brought closer the sleeves of one of Bucky’s heneleys that had been mixed up with the clothes at the back of your closet and took in his faint scent. But then you heard it again, the unmissable groan of his apartment door. You told him to get it fixed a thousand times but he would always say: “Just because something’s old doesn’t mean it needs to be fixed.”
You rushed outside and saw him, opening his apartment door. You couldn’t believe it, were you dreaming?
You ran to him and just as he turned around you wrapped your arms around him, you couldn’t help the tears running down your face.
“Is there something wrong?” Bucky asked, worry written all over your face, as he brushed the hair off of your face. “Are you hurt.”
A laugh ripped through your chest and you shoved his shoulder. “Wrong with me? You scared me half to death! I though you didn’t make it.”
You whispered the last part, wanting to hide the tremble in your voice.
He took your head in his hands, placing a kiss on your forehead. “I’m all right doll, see, I’m still in one piece.”
You nodded and sniffled, bringing your head to his chest.
“I’ve been looking for this.” Bucky let out a small laugh, placing kisses on the top of your head, while tugging on his shirt. But before you could tell him he could have it back, he said: “Keep it, it looks better on you.”
The fourth time you showed up at Bucky’s place unexpected was a month later. For about a week, you’d been getting this weird feeling. You had seen the same person twice in the subway and then once turning the corner to your apartment. At first, you thought it was a coincidence but today was the third day you saw the same man. Bucky had taught you that whenever you feel in danger you should go around the block once. No person that isn’t following you is going to turn right twice, ending up in the same spot you started. He said that if after doing that, they were still on your tail you should immediately go to his place. No matter the time and no matter the situation.
You looked over your shoulder before turning right for the fourth time hoping the man would enter one of the many apartments or stores lining your street. Maybe he was lost? But no, he kept his pace following you. Your breath hitched as you considered your options. A) Lead this person straight to your apartment and get murdered or B) Face your ex-boyfriend.
You considered option A for a second, it would be less awkward. But you shook your head. You rushed up the stairs and made use of the spare key to Bucky’s apartment you hadn’t returned. You quickly closed the door and leaned back on it, trying to regain your breath. You did as you were once told, you grabbed the gun from underneath his dining room table and pointed at the door until he got home.
An hour later, you saw the lock turn and the door slowly open. You pointed the gun straight on and waited for whoever was behind the door to come in.
“It’s just me,” You heard Bucky’s voice before he came in. “You’re safe.”
You let out a breath as he came into view, setting the gun back on the table. “How’d you know I was here?”
“You think I don’t have cameras?” Bucky chuckled as he lowered his work backpack onto the kitchen island. “I saw you snooping around, by the way.”
The corners of your lips turned upwards, partly because you were caught but mostly because you didn’t find any indications that there had been a woman in his place.
“What happened?” He asked, sitting across from you.
“I think I’m being followed.” You chewed on your bottom lip nervously.
“Think?” Bucky asked with raised eyebrows.
“The same man has been following me from my apartment to work and back for the past week. And he’s not even being sneaky about it. We’ve made eye-contact and everything.”
Bucky ran his hand across his face. “And you waited a week to tell me?!”
“Well I’m sorry if I’m not totally comfortable telling my ex that someone is following me!” You rolled your eyes. “Anyways, I did what you told me and now I’m here.”
“I took a picture of him when he wasn’t looking.” You pushed your phone closer to Bucky only to see the color drain out of his face. “What’s the matter?”
“The-these- this guy, I saw him at the warehouse.” Bucky muttered. “They’re sending me a message.”
“What are we going to do?” You asked quietly.
Bucky’s nostrils flared as he got filled with rage. “We? We aren’t doing anything. I am going to go to them and kill every single one. I don’t care- they’re dead tomorrow morning.”
“Buck-“ You placed a hand on his chest but he turned around, getting up from the table. He paced around his apartment, face red with anger. “Buck! Stop!”
His eyes darkened. “Stop? Stop and do what? Wait until they hurt the woman that I love? I’m not going to just sit back and take the high road. They deserve to be in the ground and I’m going to make sure it happens. No one can get near you. I’ve worked too hard and sacrificed so much already for them to get close to you.”
“They’ve gotten too close already. I shouldn’t have let them, but they’re here now. And they’re going to see what happens when you piss me off. I broke my heart in two just to make sure you were going to be safe. And they won’t take that away from you, not your safety. I will do whatever is necessary.”
You gasped at his words.
“Is that- is that why-“ Bucky didn’t let you finish, his saddened gaze gave you the answer.
“Do you love me?” You asked him, your heart speaking the words your brain couldn’t let you pronounce. His eyes were set on the ground. You took two steps to him, grabbing his face and looking into his eyes.
“Tell me you don’t love me and I’ll drop it. We never have to talk about this again, we’ll finish with the mercenaries and I will never speak a word to you again. Just say the words. Tell me you don’t love me.”
Worried creases appeared on Bucky’s forehead, battling with himself. “I could never keep you safe. You will always be in danger.”
“Say it.” You ordered. “Say that you don’t love me but know that it won’t go away. I will always be something they hang over your head because I’ll love you forever.”
His steel blue eyes met yours and looked down at your lips.
“I’ll never be safe, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay if it means I get to spend even a minute back in your arms.” You whispered.
Bucky crashed his lips into yours, a rushed and feverish kiss that had you seeing stars. The type that has you gasping for air but not knowing that if it is your last, it was worth it. Bucky pulled you closer to him, his cologne and desperation made you dizzy.
“I’ll love you forever.” He whispered once you separated. “I promise to keep you safe, I’ll do whatever I have to. I cannot be without you, I was a fool to think I could.”
You smiled into his lips but his warmth left too soon.
Bucky placed another kiss on your lips before walking to the door. “I’ll be home soon.”
“Where are you going?” You gripped his arm, wanting nothing more than for him to come back to you.
He brought your hand to his mouth, placing a chaste kiss on your knuckles. “Anyone who dares to threaten you gets to see a part of me that I once buried.”
Your eyes met as he counted the bullets inside his gun and slid a knife into his pocket.
“Hurry back home.” You said.
For the first time in months, Bucky let out a smile.

Agatha All Along deep dive: episode 7 part 2
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][+1] ep5 [1][2][3][4][5] ep6 [1][2][3] ep7 [1][2][3][4][5][6] ep8 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] ep9 [1][2][3][4][5][6])
Tumblr media
from this moment on we follow the events from Lilia's point of view, experiencing time out of order like she does. nonlinear timelines are extremely difficult to convey onscreen, and the writers manage it so well that I still have to see someone confused by the way things unfold.
from a linear pov: lilia fell through quicksand with jen, she regained consciousness in a strange underground tunnel where she met rio. then she woke jen up, told her what billy did and that they were about to join the tarot trial. they hid from the salem seven. now they're on their way to meet the others.
from lilia's pov: she fell through quicksand (or should I say the Swamp of Sadness?), she had a glimpse of her own very near demise. then she found herself following jen through the tunnel. she has yet to meet rio and she doesn't know they're going to a trial.
Tumblr media
see how jen immediately contextualizes where we're at? this is for us, the viewers, so we don't get too lost.
Tumblr media
'where is rio', is the question that has been tormenting her. she just saw a glimpse of where she'll meet rio, plunging to her Death. but the loss of other people has been haunting her as much as her own.
Tumblr media
love love love all the frantic panic patti conveys at the mention of wanda, as I imagine she doesn't give a shit about marvel and frankly can't be bothered to learn any scarlet witch lore. acting!!!
Tumblr media
jen, now alone with lilia without alice acting as a bumper, is being real crabby with her. she thought they were bonding just a minute ago and now lilia's being annoying with her eccentricities
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and just... the way she's talking to jen a moment and to alice the next
Tumblr media
i miss you, sweet bub
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and no need for any further explanation. we know exactly what's happening to lilia.
Tumblr media
and just like that, she's talking to her maestra. lilia, what do you see? that has always been the question, hasn't it?
Tumblr media
i would give my life for you, baby lilia
Tumblr media
ah, capisco! you're visiting, eh? and this tell you two things: number one, how much of a (real and metaphorical) gift talking with the past can be. yes, you're seeing the long dead. no, you cannot bring them back. but you can still learn from them and put their wisdom to good use.
Tumblr media
and number two: the importance of having a coven, or rather, a community, a support system. lilia's new coven treats her with awkwardness or even scorn, they don't know her, they don't understand. lilia's maestra doesn't even flinch talking to a woman from the future in the body of a little girl. she knows lilia's time works differently and she rolls with it. 13 or 500 years old, it's all the same, lilia is beloved and will be accepted no matter what.
Tumblr media
lilia finds herself at her very first divination lesson and once again is dismissive of her own gift. maestra calls her out immediately: fesserie! bullshit!
Tumblr media
this is the story of a great Seer who told herself she wasn't any good, who went into exile, who fled the company of her fellow humans. she chose to be seen as a fraud, isolated, humiliated, rather than to be hated and feared for what she could do. she closed her eyes and pretended not to see the horrors ahead.
Tumblr media
I adore this transition between the tea leaves and the tunnel
Tumblr media
again, no alice to deescalate. and lilia finally, finally speaks up. jen is the most unforgiving person in the coven and, arguably, the one whose opinion lilia respects the most. the high priestess.
Tumblr media
and, to her credit, jen is willing to listen. to her credit, despite the dark path calling her, when jen sees something that she can fix, she is willing to try
Tumblr media
I'm gonna do a play-by-play of what ms. lupone does here, because it's nothing short of mesmerizing. she raises her hand, trying to grasp at words. she looks down, the looks to the side. her hair has crumbled, she looks like a girl in pigtails. she is so small and scared.
Tumblr media
she reaches out, bitter, sure, and nervous, but so eager for someone to understand. she takes deep breaths, tries to steady herself.
Tumblr media
she cannot finish her sentences, her lips are trembling, she's shaking with small sobs. her eyes get so big. patti never goes over the top, she's reaching somewhere deep and intimate and raw. but you can't call this performance understated, there so much bubbling under the surface, and patti is perfectly in control, she's letting it out drop after powerful drop
Tumblr media
she takes a moment to catch her breath, to feel the pain of it all
Tumblr media
and jen... understands. lilia has done something so scary and vulnerable and brave. she has showed herself at her most defenseless, and she hasn't been rejected. and jesus christ this is what a coven is about, and it's what they were all missing. jen has seen lilia's burden and she has accepted it. from now on, she will help carry it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ms. lupone. patti. how can you just walk on the set of a random superhero show and dominate it.
Tumblr media
jen suggests the end of the Road might give lilia her powers back, but she is STILL so afraid to embrace who she is. she can't quite finish that thought because

Finally
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credits to the owners)
◇ Pairing: Student!Tom Riddle X Professor!Reader
◇ Warnings: smut, p in v, pet names, professor x student, (they are both off age/legal age), Tom Riddle (obsessive love).
◇ Summary: Tom finally receives what he had been craving.
◇ Note: Sorry for the mistakes, the English and expecially the wait! I'm so sorry, thank for reminding me to continue this. Here is PART 1, PART 2 and PART 3.
Tumblr media
Months were passing by quickly from the last encounter Tom Riddle had with his favourite DADA professor.
He had time to concentrate on his studies and his dark plans while slowly developing a physical need to mark the older woman as his.
Thoughts and dreams of simply thrusting in her warm pussy and pump his cock mercilessly till he would paint her walls white and trap her with a baby so that he would be sure that she couldn't leave him after he ended Hogwarts.... filled his head, making him act and feel weird.
"What can I do for you, Tom?" Y/n's smooth voice echoed in her classroom as she fixed her books back on the shelves with her wand, her gaze was focused elsewhere but she could feel the presence of her student all too well.
The young man had been standing there since some minutes now, his dark eyes following every movements, his face a poker one and his body in a polite posture as usual— his mind quite the opposite.
"Tom?" She called, stopping her actions to stare at him, hoping to understand why he was in her classroom at that late hour and why he was just standing there
"Is everything all right?" Her voice asked after little time with a glimpse of worry as Tom didn't reply yet.
His mind was swirling and his body reacting, he could just focus on her current state— her messy hair, slightly open shirt and lovely features. If he didn't focus like he wanted he would had loose himself in the primitive lust feeling of the past days.
"My apologies, Professor Y/l/n. I came here because I needed to talk to you about a matter and was hoping that you could be of any use" Tom quickly replied, his hands squeezing each other to suppress other needs and carry on with his former plan.
As soon as he received a quick nod from his professor he approached the desk.
The young man looked paler, his veins a bit more visible and his usual black eyes had a glimpse of red.
"I would like to start teaching here at Hogwarts as soon as I finish my studies" Tom informed her calmly, placing a small box on the table when the woman took a seat
"I was hoping if you could help me... by giving me some advice or... explain to me how to apply for such a job" he continued to explain, looking at her with a piercing stare that hid the hunger inside of him
"Plus... this is for you. Just a thank you for my favourite professor" his slender finger pointed slightly at the box on the desk, tapping it a couple of times.
It sounded quite dark and threatening but still sugared up with what seemed a genuine smile from the student.
It wasn't unusual for her, some students brought her gifts before leaving Hogwarts and carry on with their lives and she was always proud of it. Knowing that she was appreciated for what she did.
"Thank you, Tom" Miss Y/l/n murmured out with a smile, accepting the green box in her hands to open it in front of him
"No need" he whispered as his eyes followed her movements, his body growing warmer and excited at the sight in front of him— her hands, that time before were wrapped around his cock, were now holding up the necklace that belonged to his family.
The jewellery swang softly, shining as the light hit it, allowing at the golden snake to stare right back at him when she tried to put it on without help.
The student's body was moving on it's own now almost like under a trance.
Two steps and he was behind her, his slender fingers grabbed the cool metal of the necklace to help her put it on as soon as she stood up.
Another step and he was caging her on the desk, one hand wrapped around her neck and the other on her lower stomach, the jewellery now hanging at her neck
"Tom—" Miss Y/l/n's voice cracked as the student's breath got heavier, his nose buried in her hair to take in her scent, his hand moving with a mission feeling her mature curves.
Then silence surrounded them, just the soft groans and hisses that the student made were audible.
"I'm sorry, professor" Tom murmured lowly, his hips grinding against her ass like a horny animal as he managed to pin her down on the wooden surface.
No other words were shared as he kept getting off like that, making her feel his erect cock better now that it was out of his uniform— pre-cum wetting slightly the dress she had choose to wear that day.
He knew her sweet spots and how to seduce her in joining those intimate activities so... little time passed before their sex were bare, rubbing together in a sensual dance.
"Fuck, miss Y/l/n" Tom cursed, spreading her legs more to have better access at her dripping folds, his cock rubbing slow circles on her clit before trying to thrusts in while hiding his hesitance and lack of knowledge.
The older woman could feel something was off, her student's usual confidence wasn't there anymore and he seemed bit... unexperienced as if he didn't know what to do.
In fact he had been too focused on studies and the thought of her to even "practise" or search how to please a woman correctly or how to fuck one.
Y/n waited a couple of minutes before turning carefully around to be able to see him, her hand slipping down to slowly caress his toned torso till she reached his leaking cock. Her finger wrapped around it and gave it some pumps before leading him slowly closer.
His tip was now thrusting carefully in her, more... and more till he was completely inside her, his body trembling and nearly collapsing on hers at the new feeling.
"You're a virgin?" The professor asked carefully, rubbing Tom's back almost to comfort him as the young man tried to hold back his climax, his breath heavy and his face showing pure bliss and embarrassment.
His perfect mouth was slightly open, his eyes tightly closed and his eyebrows furrowed... he would have looked like a god to the girls his age but to Y/n, he looked like a cute little virgin.
"You are" she murmured after a moment, her wall squeezing teasingly his cock as she encouraged him to start thrusting, her hands grabbing the pale skin of his ass to push him further in.
Her praises made Tom shudder more while he tried to thrust as best as he could, feeling his cock being squeezed by her warm walls more and more when he pumped it slightly in and out.
It took him a couple of thrusts before he curses under his breath, tensing all up while shooting his load in her cunt.
Her right hand kept stroking his hair and the other one moved from his ass to his lower back, leading his last thrusts till she felt him softening inside of her.
"Good boy, Tom. Such a good boy" Y/n praised softly after his climax, his body now rested bit limp on hers as a smirk slowly formed on his hidden face.
He had succeed.

THIS SOMEHOW TURNED INTO A JIMMYTIMMY FIC THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO JUST BE A RAMBLE.. LOWKEY brainrot over Timmy and Jimmy right now. Ignoring the fact that the specials are some of the best episodes from BOTH of the shows (idk what people say 1 2 and 3 were all peak), the characters Timmy and Jimmy have such potential?? Like two polar opposites who use different forms of creation to express their creativity, yet similar kids who could find solstice within each other, as they both feel left out within their lives due to differences they cant quite fix, but still are able to understand each other. How they both became quick friends who bicker, and actually taught each other how to live, idk I think it's sweet.
Maybe they kept in touch over the years? That they texted till Midnight? That they considered each other their best friends at one point? I mean- it would make sense! With what they both go though, especially if it spans years, them becoming best friends, being able to understand each other like no one else, it makes sense. They would visit each other's dimensions as much as they could. They didn't want to destroy the multiverse, but they also wanted to see each other. Jimmy had a small google calendar that at least once a month, had "Timmy Turner stay over" or "Visit Turner's dimension." Jimmy and Timmy would have sleepovers at each other's place, usually Timmy staying a few days with Jimmy. They would go too amusement parks one day, and space the next. Jimmy became close with the computer programs "Cosmo and Wanda" as well, having conversations with them about his inventions, and giving him actual advice! (Mostly Wanda, Cosmo usually just tried to shoot random things with his wand- but he was sweet in his own way) They even had a prototype called "Poof" appear once in a while. He usually clung onto Timmy and would call him his older brother (he questions the true sentience of these beings). They both had memorized every nook and cranny of each other's houses/cities. They both could pass as residents there with how much knowledge they had of the other dimensions. Hell- all of Timmy's friends knew who Jimmy was and all of Jimmy's friends knew who Timmy was. They even visited each other's schools a few times! They were part of each others lives even if they weren't part of the same reality, Timmy would teach Jimmy how to relax, it was something Jimmy struggled with, especially as he grew up. He was making world-altering inventions daily, but when Timmy was around, sometimes he would just listen to him talk about comics or go on a walk on a different planet. It was peaceful, especially as Timmy would push that he didn't always need to solve everything, and he was allowed to take breaks. Sure Jimmy still overwork himself, but he doesn't feel as guilty when he takes naps anymore. Jimmy taught Timmy that he's never alone and that people do in fact care about him besides his godparents. That while his family sucked, he wasn't fated to just be miserable. He was creative, kind, smart, funny, and people were idiots if they couldn't see that. Timmy won't ever admit to shedding a tear that day, as well as getting a gift for him the next day (A drawing of Gonard and Jimmy, as well as a polaroid attached to it of Timmy and Jimmy on the beach, splashing water on each other.) Timmy gained a bit more hope in the future after that.
Eventually, Jimmy could really see Timmy being his friend forever, and actually had a meaningful bond with him. That he never wants Timmy to leave his side, even if they bicker like a old married couple everyday, even if people tell both of them that their way to destructive together, even if somehow- some enemy of there's wants to make sure they both end up dead, Jimmy wants to find Timmy every step of the way. Timmy would have had the same thoughts if he hadn't known that it was all futile anyway. He would have had the exact same feelings- he does! But he knows that after he's 18, it's over. He knows that the moment the clock strikes 12, he can never step foot in retrovill again, he could never hear the name Jimmy Neutron again outside of blurry memories from his friends. He would forget every adventure, party, sleepover, late-night drives, and multi-dimensional butt-kicking he experienced with Jimmy. Timmy tried to hold it off for so long, he really did. He refused to let Jimmy know anything about this, he didn't want Jimmy trying to solve this, he knew that would be impossible. He didn't want all of his hangouts to just be speculation on how he could stay, he just wanted to spend some time with his best friend. With the person he would have spent the rest of his life with, if it was possible.
Jimmy was working on a surprise gift for Timmy. He was trying to do something creative rather than scientific since that was Timmy's style. He was trying to sew patches onto a pink hoodie, small white stars being embroidered along the sleeve. It looked simple sure, but it was something Jimmy was working on for days! He even set aside his latest project for it, which is saying a lot for Jimmy. They had planned a hangout just 2 days before his birthday, he knew that Timmy always spent his birthday with his computer programs, so an early birthday gift was due! Jimmy could hear the portal booting up from behind him, and he felt a spark of excitement within him. When Timmy stepped out of the portal, Jimmy folded the hoodie in his hands and was ready to hand it to Timmy, he hopped off his chair and walked to Timmy. He noticed the redness in his eyes and his tired demeanor, huh, must have had an adventure with his computer programs the day before. He was going to say Happy Early Birthday and a snarky remark on how he's surprised he reached adulthood. Timmy didn't let Jimmy get one word in before he broke the news though "Jimmy look, please please don't be mad at me I just-" Jimmy could already see the sweat forming on Timmys head, god did Timmy mess up again? dId he fuck up with some sort of extraterrestrial creature and needs his help? for the love of science. "I have something important to tell you." Timmy quietly says. Timmy shoved his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, as he slightly looked down to avoid direct eye contact with Jimmy. "I've wanted to tell you for the past YEAR, and it been so hard to even find the words!" His voice is quickening in pace, he even grabs his hat and starts to fidget with it in his hands. "and I know I fucked up by not telling you sooner I know, but you deserve this explanation for what's about to happen, and I'm just gonna spit it out right here and now-"
Jimmy could see how panicked he was as if he was on a time limit. ... "I'm going to forget you, and retrovill- everything. There's nothing you can do about it either." ...At first, It was denial. Jimmy was so confused, he said he could probably just make a memory machine and bring them back later, all these "dramatics" weren't necessary. I mean, forget the past 8 years? He could practically sense the bullshit coming from that statement, He was already about to start working on it before Timmy refused. He explained how if he kept his memories, the computer programs could "fry up" or whatever. Jimmy just said he could alter them to have better software, but Timmy refused. "Look- I can just upload your memories into my computer and it'll be fine! I already have a bunch of videos of us throughout the years it wouldn't be too hard." He explained very casually, Jimmy quickly glaced over his lab as he said this, his hand following to showcase all the gadgets he could use to easily solve this!
"Jimmy no" Timmy put his hand on his nose, slightly squeezing it. "these programs are beyond whatever science-thingy you can do- its not just science its more complicated-" Jimmy interjected "Science can fix everything Turner, I thought you've known me long enough to know that," He said smugly as he slightly grinned at his comeback. Timmy just glared back, and Jimmy could sense that Timmy didn't want to just bicker around this "Jimmy you can't fix this, this isn't even possible to comprehend to the human mind, even a genius. I can't explain how the memory erasure works but I NEED to forget" Timmy puts his hands in the air as he says this, and his eyes get slightly wide as he continues on "or else there would be consequences that I don't want either of us to face, or my family, my world!" He exclaims with all the emotion he could muster in his voice. "I'm not letting you touch Cosmo or Wanda either." Jimmy quickly realizes with a quick look around the lab and Timmy's clothes that the computer programs weren't even there with Timmy, he must have thought this out, smart bastard.
Then, it was anger. They argued till their voice broke, until screaming was all they could do. Jimmy was furious, why wouldn't Timmy tell him. He must have known, all these years, he must have known that everything would shatter and become whatever shit show is happening right now, Jimmy was so sure he could fix this, while Timmy was saying it's not possible, and all Jimmy could do is keep asking why isn't it, while Timmy would just avoid the question. He was thinking of every single invention, every single piece of technology, of scientific knowledge that could help, until Timmy says that its out of Jimmy's hands, and that he knows nothing can be changed. "Why the hell wouldn't you tell me?? I could have solved this by now, I could have, why the fuck wouldn't you have let me" Jimmy puts his hands in the air as he exclaims this Timmy takes a step back "Because I knew you would have a meltdown over this, I knew you would just try and solve this with whatever gizmo you have and then come up empty-handed-" "Since when have I ever come up empty-handed." Jimmy takes a step forward, frustration dripping as he stares Timmy directly in the eyes. Timmy takes a slight pause and just slightly squints his eyes. "You would have if you worked yourself to death" His voice slightly breaks as he says this, his feet feel stuck to the ground. Jimmy can feel his face heat up "You didn't let me try!" He can hear his own echo in the lab at this rate "Cause I wanted to hang out with you! I wanted to actually be with you at the moment, not worried about- this!" Timmy gestures to Jimmy himself as he says this, his voice getting more and more meek. He was practically pleading, with Timmy, begging him to let him at least let him try. He was coming up with different solutions, maybe living in Retrovill instead! Sure he has no idea what that would do to the multiverse, but he could invent something to protect the fabric of it while Timmy stays, or maybe if Timmy would just let him alter his computer programs he can figure out a way to make sure his memory wouldn't overdrive their software, or maybe he could look at da rules himself and check for loopholes- or maybe- "Stop. Please just- just stop." Timmy's voice cracks as he says this, tears shining in his eyes. Jimmy could see his own reflection within them. He could see his own crazed expression, and how it affected Timmy. He focused on every single detail of his face, the heavy eyebags, the dull blue that was usually an aqua, he even noticed a small redness in his cheeks. It hurt, it hurt so much and he didn't. He didn't know what to do, and he hated not knowing what to do. It's a horrible feeling to not know what's going on, or what's happening around you. It feels empty and insulting, like it's a personal attack on who you are, and what you've been working towards your whole life.
It was the first time Jimmy cried in years. Hes not much of a crier, he's more of a scream-into-a-pillow or sulk-quietly type of guy. He doesn't like making a big fuss about his emotions, especially as he got older and was taking more serious projects that could actually impact the people around him. The last time he cried was probably when he was 11- but now it felt uncontrollable. Timmy soon quickly followed suit, tears flowing out as small hicks can be heard out of him. It was one of the worst days of Jimmy's life, no, it was the worst day of his life. How can this be something so out of his control, that he was about to lose his best friend, one of the most important things to him in this entire multiverse and he could do nothing. Jimmy was in a hysterical fit, he pulled his hair a bit as he felt his breathing quicken, he didn't know what to do he just didn't he's stumped. Hes Jimmy Neutron! Boy genius! He has 8 PHDS and multiple Nobel prizes under his belt, he has explored places that the average human can't even fathom, and yet he can't even save- Timmy always knew what to say. He was quick to comfort Jimmy the moment he saw him spiraling. He gently put his hands on Jimmy's hands and lowered them from his head, Jimmy didn't like physical contact, but god if he could glue Timmy's hand to his he would. He looked at Jimmy's eyes and smiled his stupid bucktooth smile. As if that would make everything go away, as if that would erase the fact that he's going to go away forever, Jimmy couldn't help himself from smiling back though. God Timmy was the one about to forget everything and yet he comforts Jimmy? He ridiculed himself in his mind for making Timmy help him, and yet he wanted to hear whatever he had to say so, so badly. Timmy took a deep breath before talking "I've, never been the most articulate," his voice strained, like he's struggling to talk. "but please trust me when I say this. Even if I forget, there's nothing that could erase all the fun we've had together over the years. These memories, just cause they're not in my mind directly, don't erase the fact that they happened!" Timmy states with hope in his tone, he slightly rubs the back of Jimmy's hands with his thumb. "Somewhere, out there, in some form of reality, it showed that we spent all those years together fucking around, and that will always mean everything to me." He looks at Jimmy's eyes when he says that, and grins at him. Jimmy laughed a bit at that sentence, which caused Timmy to smile even more, he didn't stop talking though. "No matter who I meet, no matter where I go, no one can ever top you Neutron, and I promise that. Even if we both forgot somehow, even if the world was destroyed, it wouldn't erase the fact that at one point, we existed together, and everything was ok." After an hour or two, Timmy spent the whole day in his dimension. He said goodbye to Cindy, Sheen, Carl, and even Jimmy's parents. Sheen and Carl cried a bit, they didn't fully understand, but they said they'll miss him, and that they'll read the crimson chin comics Timmy lent them in remembrance. Cindy hugged Timmy for a few minutes, she actually considered Timmy really good company, and she lent Timmy one of her hair ties, even if he never used it, Timmy said hell keep forever. Jimmy's parents were.. hard to say the least. They both liked Timmy, but they didn't get the full grasp of him leaving, so Timmy just said that he was moving abroad to England. They just asked him to visit whenever he can and to keep in touch. It almost made Jimmy cry for a second time that day, which would have been a new record.
The walk to Jimmy's lab was quiet, barely a sound was made between either of them. You could hear the small footsteps they were both taking, walking a bit slower than average. Once Jimmy entered his lab, he could feel the cool breeze of the ac he left on lingering. He saw the portal, and he knew that he had to power it on. That he couldn't just keep Timmy here, but his feet wouldn't take another step. "Thank you." Timmy puts a hand on Jimmy's shoulder as he says that. Jimmy can't even say anything, he has no words could really express any emotion he's feeling right now. He just nods slightly and smiles at him. He knows that's probably the last time they'll ever smile at each other again. Jimmy finds the switch to the portal and boots it up, he sees the green swirl and feels nauseous just looking at it. Usually, the sight would trigger some excitement within Jimmy, but he just feels dread as he sees Timmy walking up to the portal. He really wished he could just freeze time and hang out with Timmy for one more second, but he knows he can't. Jimmy just sighed and was ready to wave goodbye, until he remembered something so important- god how could he forget- that he screamed at the top of his lungs- "TIMMY WAIT!" Right before he left, right before Timmy put his foot into the portal, Jimmy ran to his desk, ransacking it for- YES! Jimmy found the gift he was making Timmy at the corner of his table, with all the new sewing supplies he bought just for this occasion. Once he grabbed it he threw it to Timmy's way. Timmy snatched the hood and slightly gasped when he saw it. Timmy held it with such care, he called it sappy, but he couldn't erase the grin on his face. He tackled hugged Jimmy, and Jimmy barely could keep his footing. Jimmy could feel Timmy grabbing onto the back of his coat, and him relaxing onto his shoulder a bit more. Usually, Jimmy would complain about almost losing balance, and how suffocating hugs feel, but this time he latched onto Timmy as hard as he can. He pushed his head onto his shoulder and refused to be the first one to let go. It was the last hug hed ever receive from him, and he wanted to stay like this for as long as time would let them. Once Timmy let go, he turned around walking to the portal again. Jimmy could feel the tears pricking his eyes again, but he didn't feel as hopeless as this morning. "TIMMY!" Timmy abruptly stopped walking, mere centimeters from being transported into his dimension. "You're still the idiot I've known all these years if you think I'm not going to try and find you in the future." Timmy turns his head to see Jimmy smiling proudly at Timmy. "I don't care if your 30 working a desk job, or a famous comic book writer, or actor, or whatever! I'll go to your dimension myself, and find you. I'll figure out how to get your memory back, and.. if I can't- I'll just be your friend again, I'll do it all over again, and I promise that." Jimmy finishes off with a confident note. Timmy, in all his pessimistic glory, can't help but believe in Jimmy. "Thanks, Boy genius." "No problem, Average kid who no one understands."

Leto! Joker x Side Chick! Reader part 2
Tumblr media
1033 words dw im writing the smut part and again barely proofread so im sorry if u find mistakes
pt 1
description: you work at one of joker’s clubs and he begins to take interest in you… pt 2
I got my window fixed and a new bowl thankfully. If it was just me living there at the apartment I wouldn’t care about the bowl but I was preparing for my family to come and live with me.
But for some reason I began looking for Mr. J more and more. But he stopped coming to the club. I didn’t know why. Maybe he got tired of me?
Actually I’m stupid. That’s a good thing. He cheated on Harley…
…with me.
That goes against all and every girl code out there. What am I doing with my life? I need to focus on school and work.
The night I got home was when I started receiving gifts from him. Sometimes it was flowers, sometimes it was cash, sometimes it was even food. Every night I felt guilty.
One day, Joker finally showed up to the club, with Harley. The feeling I felt so strongly in my heart was guilt. (And jealousy but i’ll never admit that)
I placed down the drinks they usually ordered.
“Sorry hun! Puddin wants to try something different today.” Harley spoke to me.
I smiled back.
“What would Mr. and Mrs. J want today?” I smiled.
“Hmm… Doll what should I get today?” He turned to Harley.
I froze up at the nickname. I should’ve known that nickname wasn’t just for me. It was mad fucking embarrassing. It didn’t just feel embarrassing it made me feel disgusting and fucking nasty.
I could feel my face getting red from anger and embarrassment.
It looked like Mr. J could sense how I felt as he had the same grin on his face. It made me realize that being with him was dangerous for my mind and body. Yet there was something about him that was unexplainably alluring.
“Oooo~ I really liked the green thing we had last time!” Harley smiled ever so sweetly.
I went back to reality.
“We’ll have the absinthe.” The Joker looked at me up and down with a grin.
I’m a fool.
“Yes I’ll get that for you right away.” I smiled and walked off.
I’m so fucking stupid.
“Wow, that was fast, Miss Waiter!” Harley exclaimed.
“Thank you Mrs. J.” I tried my best to sound like I was laughing genuinely.
Joker just grinned at me like usual.
I couldn’t tell you about what I remembered about my shift except for that part. I got home quickly that night. On my table was a note with an address
written.
I quickly gathered all the random presents Joker left for me and put it in a box neatly.
It wasn’t right of me to let myself be a mistress. I needed to stop this. I couldn’t let myself catch even bigger feelings either. Why was I jealous of Harley even though he was already hers? It’s not right of me to think of such a thing. I’m not about to be a homewrecker.
But what if he reacted badly to me saying no? He’s literally batshit crazy. He wouldn't hesitate to blow my head off. I still have a lot of things to live for. Maybe I should just stay home.
But if he gave me this note tonight then he wants me to come tonight. Right?
So what if I had a slight smile currently? He’s hot and i like being wanted, that's all.
I googled how far the address was and it was actually pretty close. I quickly arrived at the address. I knocked on the door and was met with a shirtless Joker.
I touched my mouth to make sure I wasn’t drooling.
“Hi I’m sorry but I can’t accept this Mr. J.” I said quietly while trying to avoid looking at his man tities and his ripped ass chest.
There was no grin on his face but more like a scowl. It shook me to my very core. I was too used to his devilish grin. (It was kinda hot though…)
“Doll you’re breaking my heart! Those gifts were just for you!” His usual grin appeared on his face again. It
His use of the same pet name for Harley and me was repulsive. Yet it made my heart twist and turn.
“Give these gifts to your actual girlfriend Mr.
J. I don’t want to disturb your relationship and I need to focus on school and work.” I couldn’t bear to look at him so I focused my attention on the ground.
He put the box of gifts I held in my hands down on the floor.
“Aww~ Are you jealous Princess? Harley is my girlfriend, yes. But you’re the only one that’s in this smalllll tinyyyy heart.” He put my hand onto his chest.
Would he kill me if I squeezed it a bit?
“…” I didn’t want to retort back and get my head blown off. But this whole thing we had was morally wrong. And I knew if I fell in even more love with him I could never escape those feelings. I don’t want to die.
“Mr. J we can’t- I can’t do this. You already have a girlfriend and I need to focus on-“
I was cut off by him shushing me with his finger.
“You can’t but I definitely can. Who said anyone needed to know about us, Doll?” He held me in his arms.
“But Mr. J…” I was conflicted.
My life or him?
“C’mon Princess~ be with me. I’ll make sure you never worry again.” He said like he knew exactly what I was thinking.
He kissed me…
And I kissed back.
He’s probably done this to so many other girls but my body, heart, and mind couldn’t escape him.
Maybe a few more days wouldn’t hurt.
I spent the night with him. When I woke up he had already left. There was a note left next to me with his number on it.
I felt lonely.
My knees literally buckled with every step I took. It was really bad. I thought I was gonna fall multiple times. Thankfully I was able to get into my apartment and I slept for a little longer. Yet it felt cold without the warmth of Mr. J.

Tumblr media
They call him Hwa. M/n isn't sure why, but he can guess.
It could be the grace with which Hwa moved his arms, like a petal falling from a flower. Or it could be how he maneuvered around the chrome pole, his body moving effortlessly. His legs part at the pole's top like a blooming rose before he easily descends to his feet.
M/n watched, flustered, as he sipped his strawberry daiquiri. His eyes remain fixed on Hwa, tracing the arches and curves of his body. Out of the three performers on stage, Hwa is the only one not completely nude; yet, but this doesn't seem to matter to M/n.
The other performers entertain his thirsty friends, their excitement evident as they spend their paychecks freely.
"You like Seonghwa, birthday boy?" M/n's friend, Mingi, asked.
M/n slumped further into the booth, his drink now forgotten on the table. A sigh escaped his lips, echoing the deflation in his posture. Mingi's voice, a touch too loud in the pulsing club atmosphere, cut through his reverie.
"What's wrong, dude?" Mingi asked, prodding a clear brick of cash bulging in his jean jacket. "Five hundred bucks here, courtesy of the whole crew, just to make sure you have a good night. You barely glance at the dancers, and Wooyoung would probably eat you alive if you tried to steal a peek at San. So spit it out – is there someone here you like, or not?"
M/n scoffed, his gaze drawn back to the stage like a moth to a flame. Seonghwa, his focus of attention, had just glided off the pole. He now stood imposingly in front of it, one hand gripping the smooth chrome for balance. His hips swayed to the throbbing bass, a slow, controlled movement that sent a shiver down M/n's spine. Beads of sweat glistened on Seonghwa's neck, a testament to the raw passion he poured into his dance. His lips were slightly parted in a silent gasp, eyes closed, lost in the moment. It wasn't just the physique on display, it was the captivating intensity, the way Seonghwa embodied the music with every fiber of his being.
Mingi followed M/n's gaze, a knowing smirk spreading across his face. It was clear as day – the birthday boy was smitten with tonight's star attraction, Seonghwa. With a playful nudge, Mingi propelled himself out of the booth and navigated the small platform towards the stage. He leaned in casually, his voice barely audible over the pulsating music. Seonghwa, mid-strut, caught Mingi's gesture and sauntered over, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Someone's got a little birthday wish," Mingi murmured, a wad of cash appearing in his hand. "Take good care of the birthday boy tonight, Hwa. Make it unforgettable."
Seonghwa glanced over Mingi's shoulder, his gaze landing on M/n who was suddenly very interested in the pattern on the table. A soft chuckle escaped Seonghwa's lips. "Keep your money. On the house."
Mingi raised an eyebrow, a playful challenge in his voice. "Even if things get a little..." he trailed off, leaving the sentence hanging in the air.
Seonghwa winked, a slow, deliberate movement that sent a shiver down M/n's spine even from a distance. "All you need to know is he'll be well looked after," he purred, his voice dripping with a hint of something more. "Your friend will have a night he won't soon forget. I have a feeling he needs some special attention."
Seonghwa straightened, his eyes still locked on M/n, the playful facade replaced with a promise of something more. The air crackled with unspoken desires and a sense of anticipation. The night had taken a sharp turn, and M/n, still blushing furiously, had a feeling his birthday was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
The plush lobby of the luxury hotel felt strangely foreign to M/n. Mingi, ever the party animal, had insisted on continuing the celebration after dropping off the rest of their exhausted friends. Only M/n, Wooyoung clinging to his boyfriend's arm like a lovesick puppy, and Mingi, fueled by an insatiable thirst for drinks, remained. Wooyoung was busy showering affection on his beau, leaving M/n feeling like a third wheel. But Mingi had other plans.
"Hwa's all prepped for you, birthday boy," Mingi sang, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he patted M/n's shoulder. A knot of nervous anticipation tightened in M/n's gut. He wasn't quite sure what awaited him, but the opulent hotel and Mingi's cryptic words sent shivers down his spine.
Mingi escorted him to the elevator, a countdown to the unknown. Each floor that passed felt like a step closer to a mystery. Finally, they reached their destination – Seonghwa's floor, according to Mingi.
"Here we are!" Mingi chirped, his excitement far exceeding M/n's own. They stopped in front of a door, the number 9024 gleaming faintly. "Just relax and enjoy yourself. Seonghwa will take you home later. I'mma head back to drink my face off."
"Very responsible," M/n snorted, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"Hey, no need to get judgy. Now go, go, go!" Mingi playfully nudged him towards the door, a mischievous glint in his eyes. With a final wave, he disappeared down the hallway, leaving M/n feeling like a fledgling pushed from the nest.
Taking a deep breath, M/n punched in the code Mingi had provided. A soft beep confirmed his entry, and he hesitantly pushed the door open. The room was a vision of sleek elegance, mirroring the rest of the hotel. Awe-struck, he wandered deeper, taking in the luxurious details.
So engrossed was he by the interior design that he completely missed Seonghwa lounging regally on the bed. The dancer's arms rested behind him, his gaze fixed intently on M/n, studying him with an air of quiet amusement. Only when M/n reached the main area – the bedroom – did he finally notice Seonghwa's presence, the air suddenly crackling with a charged energy that went beyond birthday celebrations.
Biting his lip, Seonghwa's eyes danced over M/n's smaller frame. A shy little shorty, doe-like eyes, dressed like a school child but it fit him, and his body was a joy to look at. Small waist and thickish thighs that would look so good riding Seonghwa's. Oh yeah, Seonghwa was 'bout to tear that ass up.
Mingi was right when he said the birthday boy was inexperienced, but Seonghwa pledged to change that.
"Like what you see?" Seonghwa finally spoke, catching M/n's attention as he looked almost guilty as if he was getting caught doing something he wasn't meant to do. "Sorry, I did see you there."
Seonghwa hummed, "That's okay, you see me now. C'mere."
M/n awkwardly walked over to Seonghwa, hands folded in front of him as he looked down at his feet as if he was trying to scold them to not trip.
"You alright, you look nervous. First time?"
"Mhm," M/n nodded, fidgeting with his finger digging at his nails as the nerve began to pour out his body.
Seonghwa reached out for M/n's hand, interlacing his dainty slender fingers with the younger's as he dragged him gently to the bed. He sat him down and got up himself. "You have nothing to fear about. Let me loosen you up a bit."
Seonghwa let go of M/n's hand as he walked to the end table beside the bed. He leaned over, pressing a few buttons on the fancy lamp. The whole room changed color. A golden hour yellowish orange light filled the room, along with the beginning of a sensual beat playing.
As he made his way slowly to the pole in front of the bed, Seonghwa stripped from his leather jacket. Underneath was nothing. Bare skin, his light honey skin was glazed in oil, his torso glimmering in the light. His jacket dropped to the floor, and he stepped up on the platform and let his body take over.
M/n was in awe. He had never seen anything like this, he had never seen anyone Iike Seonghwa. Someone confident in their body, Someone who had complete control in every turn and strength in every push or pull.
Seonghwa pushed his body against the pole, grinding his body against the metal. M/n took in a sharp breath, completely entranced by Seonghwa's performance. He didn't even notice himself growing hard in his jeans.
But Seonghwa did.
Seonghwa pushed off the pole and walked back towards M/n. Reaching the younger he turned his back on him, swaying his hips right in front of him. Seonghwa reached behind him, grabbing both of M/n's wrists as he placed the birthday boy's hands on his waist.
M/n's hands felt the soft skin on Seonghwa's torso, then Seonghwa took one hand and guided it over his crotch, pressing so he could feel Seonghwa's hard threatening against his pants.
Seonghwa turned back and faced M/n, caressing his face he took his face in one hand, "What do you want, baby boy? What me to take care of you tonight?"
"Yes," M/n moaned as Seonghwa's knee pressed gently into his crotch, "Do it, please."
Seonghwa cooed at M/n in a needy and innocent-sounding voice, "Mm, good boy, that's how you get what you want. Strip for me, darling."
M/n followed Seonghwa's instruction, slipping out of his sweater but not without some shyness.
"Oh, baby, you don't gotta be shy. I love your body, let me show you." Seonghwa laid M/n down on the bed carefully as he climbed up, hovering over the younger his hands wandering over his body. "You're so sexy, baby boy." Seonghwa cooed some more, one arm next to the younger's head, the other being lathered in his spit before lightly toying with one of his nipples.
M/n gasped, his thighs clenching together as the feeling of Seonghwa's cold and wet fingers on his sensitive spot left a wave of pleasure down his body. But that wasn't it.
Seonghwa's lips attached to the other, his tongue lightly grazing his nipple over and over until he began to suck and nip it just slightly to get that guilty pleasure shock of pain.
"Mm, baby boy. You sound so pretty, how can I make you even louder for me?" Seonghwa asked, giggling. He pulled back, unbuttoning his pants, and stripping them off until he was just in his boxers. "Mmm, tell me what you want."
M/n reached for Seonghwa's arm, pulling him back over him. "Just like this," He said with both hands on Seonghwa's shoulder. Seonghwa smiled, feeling the pure gushing out of M/n's eyes. Most of his clients just want backshots, so M/n asking to be in missionary, the most intimate position they could do, made him melt at M/n's request.
Seonghwa leaned down and connected his lips with M/n's, the birthday boy almost desperate to finally lock lips; he didn't waste time slipping his tongue in Seonghwa's mouth suddenly. But Seonghwa didn't mind, moaning as their tongues clashed. Seonghwa didn't care how sloppy M/n was, or how his legs wrapped around his waist as he grew hornier by each second.
Skillfully, Seonghwa used one hand to roll M/n's pants off of his legs and paused before going any further, "Can I take these off, baby?"
"Yes, just take it all off," M/n said panting, Seonghwa chuckled. He followed through and removed the birthday boy's underwear where under was his hard, angry, and fully ready to be taken care of. Seonghwa's fingertips run over M/n's hard, the younger shuttering at the touch.
Seonghwa then lathered two fingers in his spit once again, as he pulled M/n's left leg up over his shoulder so he could have access to that pure pursed hole of his.
M/n's moans and gasps roll right into Seonghwa's as the two connected lips again. Seonghwa's finger circled M/n's hole a few times, before pushing those two digits inside him.
"Ah fuck!" M/n shrieked, his head pressing hard into the mattress as the foreign feeling of Seonghwa's fingers inside him. But then, suddenly they were removed.
Before M/n could ask Seonghwa shushed him and stood up for a second to remove his underwear, and using the hair tie on his wrist he pulled his hair up and then returned to his position on top of M/n. The two shared a passionate kiss as Seonghwa slipped inside M/n cautiously, taking account of M/n's lack of preparation.
Eyes rolling back to his head M/n felt his whole body jolt. "You okay, baby? Feel good?" Seonghwa asked, making sure the younger was comfortable before he did any more.
"Yes," M/n gasped, his arms wrapped around Seonghwa's neck. "Make love to me, please, Hwa."
Again, Seonghwa's heart fluttered.
M/n shirked as Seonghwa thrust into him at a slightly fast rhythm.
"Mmm, baby boy. You feel... soo good, mm- fuck." Seonghwa panted, head dropped down just to see M/n's facial expression change from that shy, timid boy at the club.
At that moment Seonghwa was no longer just some stripper, he was now the one who would take M/n's virginity and make sure he drilled his love into him all night.

pick a card : where you need to take action
choose the image you feel most drawn to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pile 1
six of swords, nine of cups, the star, ten of wands
this pile is about leaving something behind feeling disappointed. this has costed you and taken a lot from you, but it has also taught you a lot. i feel like this refers to a job or a certain lifestyle. whatever this is, you have decided to leave it behind because it didn't align with your values. even if you feel like time was wasted, this experience has allowed you to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for your next step. if you're still thinking about leaving something behind but are feeling fearful about it, you should trust your instinct and take action. if you do, the outcome will be extremely rewarding.
the nine of cups indicates that the situation you were in took a lot of mental space and made you forget about the things that actually make you happy. the card represents a man sitting in front of nine cups with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. you are soon going to reconnect with a practice or motto that you have abandoned. you are going to spend more time nurturing this activity, and that will make you happier because it’s something that you actually enjoy doing.
then we have the star. the star is about taking energy from a source and pouring it to another. it’s associated with Aquarius, the humanitarian. in this context, it means that there is something that you can offer to the collective. maybe you have always wanted to be a creative, or have always wanted to help others in some way, but have been advised against that by your parents or by society in general. the star says that your gifts are not meant to be hidden. you are meant to share them with the world. someone, somewhere, needs to hear the message that you want to spread.
this card is also an encouragement to trust both yourself and the universe. if there's something that you wanna do because it makes you happy, you shouldn’t wait to do it. you shouldn’t postpone happiness, as the future isn’t certain. there’s nothing else more important than feeling good in the present. when you are feeling good, the universe will deliver more experiences that makes you feel good. like attracts like. wealth, health, connection… all of these things will be given to you when you feel happy and fulfilled. if you don’t know about the law of attraction yet, you should learn about it. it will help you to feel more grateful about what you have and also more relaxed about your decisions.
the last arcana suggests that this change of course won’t be easy, though. you will have to give it your all. some people see the ten of wands as a burden that's too heavy to bear. but as the last card of the wand suite, it signifies accomplishment and satisfaction. you will have to put more energy and intention into what you're doing, but the more that you do, the more rewards you will get. the man on the picture carries ten wands home, which represent the trophies he’s earned along the way. he is bringing them home so he can finally rest and enjoy the success he has fought so hard to achieve.
pile 2
seven of cups, queen of swords, nine of cups, temperance
i feel like you are confused about where to focus on energy on. i feel like there are opportunities and options in front of you, and that you don't know which one to choose. so you are asking yourself what it is that you want. is it status, meaning, or connection that you seek ? is it wealth ? some of these paths are dangerous and deadly, as indicated by the snake and weird creature appearing out of the cups. be careful what you wish for, because it might well come true. does any of these paths resonate with the person you're trying to become? will they actually make you grow, or are they just shortcuts to success?
the queen of swords suggests that you can be very decisive and determined. you might be a fixed sign, or have a lot of fixed energy in your chart. once you are sure what the goal is, there is no going back. you give it your all, until you reach your destination. but i feel like you have been influenced by your peers or by society in general to pursue things that aren't really you. you have been walking toward a dead end. the queen is looking straight ahead, with her sword held high. she's ready to cut through the bullshit. the clouds behind her are lifting, meaning that state of confusion is disappearing. you know what you're supposed to do. and you know that you've got what it takes to succeed. all you have to do is to take the step.
once you do, you will be highly satisfied. we can relate the nine of cups to the act of doing what one knows and enjoys doing. you will decide to do something that actually makes you happy, and not another person's idea of happiness. once you do, you will be highly proud of yourself and proud of the thing that you are creating. the joy you will feel will attract even more opportunities for you to be happy.
temperance indicates an equilibrium between water and earth; between the spiritual and the physical. whatever enterprise you are planning to take on, you should know that it is your calling. the angel on the card is enlightened, while the Sun behind him is rising. balance will be restored. you will finally be doing something that you are supposed to do. once you are walking this path, everything will align. you'll feel better and more hopeful about the future.
pile 3
the tower, two of pentacles, nine of wands, ace of wands
i see the destruction of one's fondation, of one's support system. you may have lost a friend, a lover, or a job. maybe they left you. this thing or person meant a lot to you, and you don't know how to go on without them. you might be depressed. you don't feel like you have enough energy or drive to do anything. so you let chances pass by in front of you, feeling stagnant and regretful.
the two of pentacles represent the contemplation of a ressource or opportunity. the character on the image plays with the pentacles, instead of using them. the movement of the pentacles draw a figure 8. you are living in your head and juggling with this idea instead of working actively to make it come true. you have wasted time but it's not too late to start moving. you have a lot of ressources at your disposal, as indicated by the nine of wands, the penultimate arcana of the suite. you have almost arrived at your desired destination. success is near. but you are still looking backward, focusing on the past instead of making the most of your present situation.
the last card of the reading is the ace of pentacles. which is funny as it's the first card of the wand suite. it's about starting another journey, and the infinite potential that comes with it. wands are associated with the fire element, which isn't fearful about new experiences. on the contrary, fire gets excited when new opportunities present themselves because they allow it to spread and expand. whatever opportunity presents itself to you, you should take it because once you do, you could accomplish things you didn't think you didn't think you were capable of. all you have to do is to decide to get moving and things will stat moving. whatever happened is in the past. you might not be able to get it back, but i don't think that you need it to keep going on your way. you still have the most important weapon in your arsenal, and that arsenal is you.

Light blazes through the cracked window, his room rapidly warming up from the brutal Nevarro heat. Din stirs as he hears his son babbling from his room right next to his. Rising to his feet, he pads into the next room, greeted by an excited Grogu. Din scoops him up out of his bed, and carries him into the kitchen.
Grogu’s been babbling a lot more, Din is curious if he’ll say his first words soon. He fixes up Grogu’s breakfast and sets him in his chair at the table along with the food. Making sure his son doesn’t choke while eating, he makes a mental list of things they need to get today at the market.
Beams, wire, fence lining.
Grogu spills some of his breakfast on his tunic, eliciting a sigh from Din.
New clothes for Grogu are added to the list.
After breakfast, Din changes Grogu out of his messy tunic into a spare one he keeps in the drawer for laundry days. Settling Grogu back into his tiny bed, which Din so proudly made himself, he places his favorite ball and a stuffed frog Greef Karga had gifted to him inside to keep him occupied while he gets ready.
He trudges into the refresher, turns on the shower and strips down before stepping into the water. While scrubbing, Din makes another mental list of chores he needs to do around the farm.
Tend to the yard, give the starfighter a tune-up, begin building the fence around the pond.
He steps out of the shower and dries off. Dressing in the refresher, he slips back out into the hall and back into his room.
He’s still adjusting to this new life, never knowing such tranquility and domesticity before. They haven’t got much yet, but he’s trying his best. Wanting to give his son a new, calmer life after all they’ve been through.
Sliding on his helmet and tacking on his remaining equipment, he slings the sack Grogu likes to occasionally ride in over his shoulder. He pads back into Grogu’s room, scooping up his gurgling son as he’s entertained with his toys, and placing him into his pram. The clan of two sets off on a long day of gathering things for their new home.
Tumblr media
Sauntering into the markets, the clan heads in the direction of the hardware stand. Buying a few beams, wire, and a few sheets of metal fencing to build a fence surrounding the pond in his front yard. Din efficiently packs the supplies together and slings them on his back.
The fabric stand catches his eye, noting that he and Grogu do need more clothes, and even some new bedding.
As Din peruses through the selection of handcrafted items, picking up a new set of sheets for himself and garments for him and his son, Grogu wanders off in his pram to the stuffed animals.
Din perks up at Grogu’s babbling, seeing that his son has picked up a stuffed bantha. “No, Grogu. Put that down, we’re only buying things we need right now.” Grogu’s ears droop as he whines. “We’ll come back in a few days. I promise, kid.”
“Do you need help with anything?” A sweet voice breaking through the bustling air.
You appear from behind one of the cloaks that are hung up on display, kindly smiling at him and Grogu. Din’s breath hitches in his throat at the sight of you. You look radiant, ethereal - your beauty rendering him speechless for a moment before clearing his throat.
“Uh, no, ma’am. Is this your stand?” He asks, feeling flustered.
“It is. Do you like that one, baby?” You ask, crouching a bit to get on Grogu’s level, who’s cooing at your words. “Take it, sweetheart. It’s okay,” you gently tell him.
“Oh no, I’m sorry. We’re only buying necessities today. Will you have any more next week?” You smile up at the mandalorian. “Nonsense, it’s on the house,” you tell him, giddy as a toothy grin plasters your face. “I’m afraid I can’t accept, ma’am. Thank you for your generosity, but-”
“You mandalorians are always so cordial. I insist it’s on the house. It’s alright, sweet boy. Go on, take it,” you say. Grogu squeals and squishes the stuffed bantha into a bone crushing embrace, your heart melting at the sight of the little green child.
“Thank you, ma’am. That’s very kind of you. Could you at least let me pay for it?” You playfully roll your eyes. “Is your helmet sound proof or something? It’s on the house,” you smile, winking at him.
Thank the stars Din wears this helmet, or else you’d be able to see how red he is underneath.
“I surrender. You drive a hard bargain. I’d at least like to pay for the clothes and these sheets. Are you the seamstress in charge, ma’am?”
You perk up at his question. “I’ll allow you to pay for the clothes, and that I am!”
You’ve got a bit of a spunky personality, from what Din can gather.
“Do you happen to take commissions? These shirts will fit him fine, but if it’s not too much trouble, could I possibly ask for some smaller ones that’ll fit him a little better? I’ll even pay double whatever you normally charge,” he rambles. A twinkle glints in your eyes, your face hurts as you can’t stop smiling at the flustered mandalorian.
“I do take commissions. And no need to pay me double, I’m more than happy to help at whatever price works for you,” you kindly respond. The mandalorian huffs out a modulated chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Thank you very much, ma’am. Could I stop by tomorrow with him to get his measurements? We’ll be in town again gathering more supplies for our new cabin. We’re still settling in and I want him to have enough clothes,” he tells you.
“Sure! I’ll be here for the next week until dusk or whenever I sell out, whichever comes first. Are you liking Nevarro so far?” You curiously ask, wondering if he’s got a spouse at home.
“We are. It’s a much quieter life than our past one, but… it’s a nice change. Just want to make sure the kid has everything he needs.”
You nod at his answer, unable to stop the next words tumbling from your lips. “Does your spouse need any custom garments as well, or just your son?”
“No spouse. It’s just me and my son,” he quickly blurts. Your smile reappears at his answer, silence brewing amongst you two. Grogu’s gurgling cuts through the air, both of you turning to look at the excited child in his pram.
“You’re a good dad,” you softly tell him.
“Thank you. You’re a very kind woman. Thank you for being so kind to my son,” he quietly says, fondly staring at Grogu who is occupied with his new toy. “Of course. I can tell he’s a sweet kid. Also helps that he’s adorable. I can fold those by the way,” you say, hands out awaiting his items.
“Oh, thank you very much,” the mandalorian says gratefully, intently watching you fold his purchases as he searches for his next words. Not wanting your conversation to end just so he can hear your sweet voice.
“Do you make those stuffed animals as well?” The mandalorian asks you. “I do.”
“You’re very talented,” he compliments. Now it’s your turn to feel flustered, heat surging throughout your body - and it’s not from the blistering Nevarro heat.
“Thank you very much,” you gracefully tell him with a bashful smile, silently asking for the items in his hands
“I might just have to commission you for one of those as well,” the mandalorian says as he hands you the credits for the sheets and garments as you fold them.
“Apologies, as well, for not introducing myself earlier. I’m…Mando. It was nice meeting you,” Mando says, trailing off at the end while packing everything into his bag.
The market bustles now, making you shuffle a bit closer to him so he can hear you, as you timidly give him your name. He quickly repeats it, burning it into his memory. The gap between you both having grown smaller. Catching a whiff of your sweet perfume, Din’s knees nearly buckle.
Of course you’re the embodiment of sweetness - and he longs to have a taste.
Flashing him your dazzling smile, you stick your hand out, awaiting his grasp. His face grows hot as he shakes your hand, both of your touches lingering. You gaze deeply into the slit in his helmet, hoping he can sense a sliver of desire from you.
You shuffle even closer, nearly fully flushed against his beskar. “It was nice meeting you too, Mando. I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?” Your voice hushed, your words only meant for him to hear.
“Yes, we’ll be back in the morning,” Mando says just as quietly. Your smile softens as you glance down to your conjoined hands. You pull away, realizing your hold on his hand lingered for a tad too long.
He clears his throat before turning to his son. “Come on, Grogu. Let’s go,” he barks, causing Grogu to snap his head up and look at his father.
“Bye, baby! Oh, hold on a second!” You say, fishing in your pocket and pulling out a piece of candy. “Here you go!” You squeak as you hand him the sweet treat. His eyes light up and he gurgles in excitement. He hurriedly takes the candy from you, unwrapping it to shove it in his mouth.
“Grogu, what do you say?” His father sternly asks him. Grogu looks up at you and babbles what you think is his version of ‘thank you.’
“You’re welcome, Grogu. Bye bye!” You giggle as you wave off the clan.
Din makes one last stop, purchasing some things to make dinner. He carries his bag of garments and sheets in one hand and the bag of ingredients in another as his hardware rests on his back. He lugs everything back home as Grogu entertains himself with his new toy.
Opening the door, Grogu rushes in first in his pram as Din trails behind and shuts the door. He tosses the bags onto the couch and settles the hardware in a corner of the living room. Grogu babbles as he plays with the bantha you gave him, giving Din the perfect opportunity to quickly cook him some soup for dinner.
It’s different not living out of ration packs, and actually having time to cook a real, hot meal. Domesticity is so foreign to him. The thought of sharing this new life with someone - with you - quickly infiltrates his mind. His mind swirls as recalls his encounter with you today while making dinner.
How did you become a seamstress? What’s your story? Do you give away stuff for free to other customers? Or was it because you’re interested in him? Is that why you had asked if he had a spouse? Or were you just being polite? Why does he care so much? He hadn’t thought about the other merchants this way, but there is something about you that has pulled him into your orbit, making him unable to shake you from his mind.
Grogu’s cooing pulls him from his trance, the soup he’d prepared had boiled over while he reeled through his thoughts. Din exasperatedly cleans up the mess and serves Grogu dinner, who scarfs it down the second it’s placed in front of him. As his son eats, Din continues reeling.
He’d been fine with being alone all these years. Why is he starting to feel this way? He and Grogu have been living here for a few months now, so why is he suddenly feeling a sense of desire? Longing? Even loneliness? Could it be the paternal instinct to provide more for his son? Or could it simply be you?
A tiny burp drags him back into reality. Grogu tiredly yawns, his belly full after a long day at the market with Din. His eyes droop, along with his ears. Din scoops him up and heads to Grogu’s room. He places the green child in bed, placing the stuffed bantha you’d gifted him alongside him.
Tumblr media
Din shuts the door and walks into his room next door. He continues to think of you while stripping his armor. He’d suppressed his feelings of loneliness for years now, but something about you had brought them to the surface.
Perhaps it was the way you treated Grogu with such sweetness, so maternally. Or perhaps it was your divine beauty which shines so brightly, penetrating from within your kind heart into the external realm. Whatever it may be, Din could not seem to shake the overwhelming feelings of yearning and loneliness - needs craving to be fulfilled by someone, by you.
Sighing as he removes his helmet, he changes into sweats and opts to sleep shirtless tonight. Padding into the kitchen, he puts the dishes from dinner into the sink, grabbing a glass in the midst of everything.
He knows his son is a Jedi and can overpower him at any moment, but Din still places his spotchka on the top shelf of a cabinet. He just hopes for the best and trusts Grogu won’t get into it.
Swiping the spotchka from the high point, he pours himself a hefty helping and chugs it. Helping himself to two more glasses, he begins to feel the effects, his eyes glazed over and heavy.
Placing the spotchka back on the top shelf and his empty glass in the sink, he walks back to his room and pulls his blanket back. Settling into bed, he still can’t get you out of his head.
His cock twitches at the thought of you, palming himself through his sweatpants. Images of you flash through his mind as he takes himself out of the confines of his sweatpants. His length springs out and bounces onto his stomach, thumping in the processing.
Din spits into his hand and winces as he strokes his cock. He’s so hard it hurts. Closing his eyes, he sighs as he strokes himself up and down, gathering the bead of precum that has dribbled from his tip and smearing it along his length.
The memory of you smiling as you appeared from thin air has him thumbing at his sensitive head. Your sweet scent lingers in his nose, smelling of florals, candy, and a hint of musk. He picks up the pace at the recollection. His breathing grows ragged as he remembers the glint in your shimmering, kind eyes. A fire burns in his veins, balls throbbing as he nears the edge.
He recalls how his skin felt electric beneath his glove as you shook his hand. The thought of your lingering touch sends a jolt of lightning through his veins as he replays the sweet sound of his name fluttering from your lips.
He wonders if his real name would sound just as sweet.
At that thought, he teeters off the cliff and plummets into his orgasm, painting his stomach with his spend while he groans your name. There’s so much cum, he’s definitely going to have to use his new bedding tonight.
He swims through the treacherous waves of his climax, sweat sheening his body. His hair sticks to his forehead and the back of his neck, a heady bliss crashes over him as he tries to catch his breath. He hasn’t cum that hard… ever.
He pants as he throws an arm over his face. Attempting to steady his breathing, he exhales a deep sigh. He’s never been so frustrated with himself. He’s always had more self-control, more discipline when it came to his desires. It’s unbelievable, and downright embarrassing, how quickly he caved at the thought of you. He doesn’t even know if you’re interested in him that way. It’s not like he could give you everything you deserve either, so long as he follows the Way.
Rising to his feet, he pads into the refresher to clean up the mess he made on his stomach. He heads into the living room, rummaging through the bags he carried in earlier. Slipping into the new pair of pants he purchased from you, along with grabbing the new sheets, he trudges back into his bedroom. He strips the bed and replaces the sheets with the ones you crafted and sold to him.
Groaning, he plops himself onto the mattress and stares at the concrete ceiling. Scintillating moonlight shines through the cracked window while the embarrassment and guilt sink in.
How is he supposed to face you at the market tomorrow?
An exhausted sigh rumbles from deep within his chest. He's never been more eager to wear his helmet ‘til now. He turns on his side before nodding off - hoping for a dreamless sleep, one free of you.

thank you for reading! may the yearning begin 🫡 i’m setting these two up for a slow burn hehehe
we will learn more about reader and her story in the next chapters!! i just wanted to introduce Din’s mindset after settling into a calmer life with Grogu
i want to delve some more into Din’s mind and examine his loneliness since we only catch very brief glimpses of it in the show. we know he gets lonely though, an example being apart from Grogu for 2 years. he’s a human after all underneath all that armor. a complex one at that with being an orphan and having to hide himself all the time.
anyway, i hope you enjoyed! let me know if you'd like to be tagged in future chapters <333

Does it ever hit you that because of Frank and Monica's emotional detachment, all of the Gallagher's seek out affection from romantic partners? But like to an almost obsessive degree.
Fiona's is obvious. She's hypersexual and falls in love easily. She will downplay her issues with Frank as something she's grown used to, but it's clear that it still affects her. She also does the same when it comes to Monica but I feel like her hostility towards other women comes from how she doesn't trust Monica, doesn't really trust herself, and sees those insecurities on other women. Ex: Her treatment of Mandy and distrust of her around Lip.
Lip is a classic case of a man dealing with his mommy issues by making it every woman's problem. He's hostile towards his romantic partners when they want a real commitment from him and he talks to women with so much disrespect that it's a wonder someone hasn't stomped his ass out yet. He's especially harsh towards his own sisters even though they've been the one's who have been there for him. He may hate Frank but he's noticeably giving and extremely forgiving towards men, even those he's only known for a short while. Almost like the story about the turtle was just as much about him hoping that he could fix Frank as it was about Frank crushing his hopes of a real father figure.
Ian being groomed is in no way his fault and is the fault of the creeps who pursued him. But I can't ignore the fact that Frank's abuse and neglect opened him up the further abuse he suffered at the hands of Kash and Ned. It's no coincidence that both Kash and Ned shower Ian with gifts and compliments about how impressive, smart, and mature he is.
Debbie 1. deals with comphet in the first few seasons, and 2. Feels ignored by her family so she tries to create her own family. Debbie is visibly the one most affected by Frank's issues and even when she for all intents and purposes gives up on him, it still affects her. Frank's hurtful words about her only finding love with someone "just as fucked up as she is" pushes her to put consider a dangerous situation with Heidi. She's also someone who struggles with control issues because she needs to help other people. She's a problem solver by nature. It's just that the two problems she wishes she could solve more than anything are out of her hands (Frank and Monica). She can't fix Frank's addiction, his selfishness, or his abusive tendencies. She can't fix Monica's wanderlust, her avoidance, or her aversion to long-term commitment.
Carl is so good at masking his emotions. It's easy to miss. But then you notice things like his attachment to Fiona, his absolute devotion to the girls he likes, and his need to protect. Carl is hypersexual, even though I've seen it rarely brought up in fandom, and longs for a long-term girlfriend. When he does get girlfriends he's all in from the beginning. When Carl loves someone he is all about them. He's so casual when it comes to talking about Frank and Monica, but that doesn't mean those feelings aren't there and they aren't affecting him.
Liam is still young so we don't get to see him in a relationship. He's the one Gallagher who's consistently treated like an actual kid. Probably the one who has the best chance at healthy emotional attachments. But then again, Fiona leaving most likely did a number on him and we weren't privy to what that looks like for him because the latter seasons forgot how to do long-term storytelling and emotional payoff. All we know is that he doesn't remember Monica, Frank being gone makes him an orphan and he's worried about where he's gonna live because Lip forgot that Liam was technically under Frank's care. We didn't get to see it, but I'd say Liam's first emotional crash is probably on the horizon.

The Art in the Heart* - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Some color pairings are complementary while others are incompatible. You and Silco might have less in common than you thought

───────────────── ●◉◎◈◎◉● ─────────────────
Silco’s grip is firm, the calluses on his palm rubbing up smoothly against yours. His hand is large and surprisingly warm. You’re not sure why you expected otherwise, but it’s probably because he’s all sharp and pointy. Suddenly you’re grateful that you haven’t started painting yet; your own hands are still clean so you won’t accidentally get paint on him.
“It’s nice to meet you, Silco,” you say. He lets go of your hand to pull out a pack of cigarettes. He taps one out and offers it to you. When you shake your head no, he carefully picks one out for himself. His fingers move delicately and are just as long as the cigarette.
“May I ask what work you do for the Council?” he inquires between gritted teeth, holding the cigarette in his mouth. He pulls out a dented lighter, small and red and struggling to ignite against a sudden breeze. You step forward to cup your hands around it, protecting the flame from the wind. Silco smiles in gratitude as the cigarette finally alights, stepping back to snap the lighter shut with a flick of his wrist.
“Councilor Salo commissioned a mural for this wall,” you tap it with your knuckles. “It’s for some bullshit measure about beautifying the Undercity, but I think that’s just an excuse.”
“How so?” he raises an eyebrow, taking a deep inhale on his cigarette.
You lean in conspiratorially. “Can you keep a secret?”
He nods.
“Salo told me to paint whatever I wanted as long as it was ‘beautiful’ and suggested a dark-haired Zaunite woman. I think this mural is his idea of a gift for his mistress.”
Silco lets out a bark of laughter, smoke trailing out of his mouth. “Really?”
“No idea. I don’t even know if he has a mistress, but it’s pretty funny to think about,” you chuckle. “Every good painting needs to tell a good story, and ‘star-crossed lovers’ is a classic. Think about it: a huge portrait of a gorgeous woman, staring out over the rooftops and across the water…”
You turn your back to him and sweep your hand towards the vista before you both: the deep blue of the river, crowned by a bridge of gold and ivory; Piltover’s much more polished and brilliantly shining façade connected to its plainer, shabbier Zaunite counterpart. Topside as a row of blue-and-white dominos and the Undercity as a haphazard gathering of multicolored pebbles.
“…Her gaze forever locked onto the towers of Piltover, trapped in Zaun, unable to reunite with her Topside lover,” you continue, only to cringe inwardly when you finish. You slipped into the habit of pitching the “story” behind your artwork, usually reserved for your Topside clients when they ask.
Any warmth Silco might have felt seems to melt away as his brow furrows, glaring at you. “Is that really what you hope to depict?”
“Yeah, it was Salo’s idea anyways,” you shrug. “And he’s paying so I don’t really have a choice.”
“You always have a choice,” Silco scowls. “The Undercity lies suffering at Topside’s feet. Would you have us make peace with them? Play lapdog after everything we’ve suffered?”
“It’s honest work, and it’s good money,” you say calmly, hoping to defuse his rising temper. You lift your chin up at him, holding his eyes steadily.
Still, Silco’s not entirely wrong. It’s one thing to paint portraits for Piltover’s elite, but it’s another when they claim land in the Undercity and ask you to write their names on it. It’s not just a stupid wall; it’s their way of declaring sovereignty over a place they would hate to step foot in. Otherwise, Topsiders wouldn’t look twice at this plain, stone building too ugly for their precious gilded city. Their idea of helping Zaun is to paint over it when nobody even asked. The real, meaningful aid that they could offer—food, shelter, medicine, and more—is either too “expensive” or “troublesome” to provide; or there are too many who are “undeserving” of help.
And yet they still think of themselves as “good” neighbors.
“Has it ever occurred to you that fighting for our cause is more important?” Silco asks, cold steel in his voice.
“Sure, but I don’t want to starve to death. Besides, I’ll be donating—”
He scoffs. “You carry your chin so high you fail to see our pain below. Only an opportunity to abandon the underground.”
The thought that you might be an instrument enabling Piltover’s entitlement has already occurred to you, and it’s bothered you ever since you’ve taken up this job, but Silco’s refusal to hear you out pisses you off, too. You shove your clenched fists into your pockets, gritting your teeth. After a few deep breaths, you feel steady enough to ask, “So what are you doing that’s so good for Zaun, anyways?”
“I can’t say,” he says coolly. He takes another pull on his cigarette, holding the smoke in his mouth before he turns away. The smoke ring he blows distracts you briefly as it hangs lazily in the air, wavering slowly as it expands and dissipates.
“How convenient,” you say sarcastically. “You’re so important to Zaun that those Enforcers wanted your autograph. Or did they want to help you schedule an appointment with the Council? Maybe help you move some furniture?”
“You’re letting Topside have their way with us. Letting them take whatever they want. Our struggle is difficult enough without needing to take back what’s already ours!” he snarls.
“Oh, so you’re going to be the one to take it all back then?” you snap at him. “You must be Piltover’s most wanted because you’re such a great thief. You did an amazing job yesterday, coming back empty-handed. I’m sure that was so good for the Undercity. Really earned Piltover’s respect with your skills.”
Silco’s grimace darkens, the notch between his brows deepening into a trench. He slams his cigarette into a stub on the ledge. The force of the impact sends ash flying everywhere, some of it landing on your face. He doesn’t apologize and instead storms off.
It takes a few more deep breaths to calm down before your hands stop trembling with anger. And even then, you have to take a few minutes to count down slowly from a hundred. But neither of those tactics succeed. Nothing can fully dissolve the lump in your throat before you finally get started on painting.
The next day, there’s nobody on the roof when you arrive at your worksite. Just a gray smear of ash on the ledge where he stamped out his cigarette. You grab a cloth and wipe it clean.
Now it’s as if he had never been here at all.
There’s no doubt that Silco was being extremely rude yesterday. But leaving on bad terms still left a bitter taste in your mouth that persisted long after you parted ways. Some small part of you had hoped he would come back so you could apologize. You try to ignore the small, sinking feeling in your chest as you climb back onto your scissor lift to get started on painting. Your tools feel heavier than usual, weighing you down.
The hours are monotonous, but just as you sense that someone is approaching you from the ground below, a loud, piercing whistle hails you. You look down to see Silco, lifting a hand in greeting.
There’s a spring in your step when you put your stuff down and press the button to lower the scissor lift. As you descend, you wonder if he’ll reciprocate your apology. If he doesn’t, then at least you can tell him to piss off without any regrets.
Silco walks forward tepidly, taking small steps as you climb down to the ground.
“Hello,” he says half-heartedly. He has a backpack slung over one shoulder, gripping the strap tightly with one hand. When you say hello back to him, he looks away and rubs his chin with his free hand.
The surprise that he came back at all soon wears off, and the silence becomes strained with awkwardness. He coughs into his hand before shoving it into his pocket.
“I’m sorry—”
“I’m sorry—" you both say at the same time.
You laugh, more to defuse the tension than out of any actual humor. “Sorry, you first.”
He glances hesitantly at you. “I must apologize. I was too harsh on you yesterday. The Topsiders hoard too much stolen wealth. To some extent, we all rely on Topside for profiteering. We must do whatever we can to survive.”
“You’re not wrong though,” you admit. “And I’m sorry I said all that stuff about you. I didn’t mean it and I shouldn’t have said it.”
He shakes his head. “I failed the Undercity that day. I could have done more—”
“Silco, it’s fine. Don’t beat yourself up about it. At least you’re not in Stillwater,” you point out. You smile at him sincerely, hopeful to be on good terms with him again. When you stick your hand out for him to shake, he smiles back. “Should we start over?”
He takes your hand and shakes it enthusiastically. The stiffness melts away from his shoulders as he shrugs off his backpack. “I have something for you.”
“What? Why?” you ask, curious.
“A token of my thanks is overdue,” he kneels down to rummage in his backpack, then pulls out two spray paint cans. One is pink and the other is white. “You used a generous amount of paint to save me the other day. I hope these are enough to replace what you lost.”
“Oh,” you blink at him, surprised. “You didn’t have to do that. It’s not a big deal—”
“I owe you a debt—”
“It’s just some paint, Silco,” you insist. “You don’t owe me anything.”
“You could have stood by and not interfered. That’s what most other people would have done.”
“That’s not true—”
“Getting involved was an unnecessary risk. For that, I thank you,” he says. He stands and takes a step forward, holding out the paint cans to you, one in each hand. “Please accept this token of my appreciation. It isn’t proportionate with the help you gave me, but it’s all I can do for now. I would be honored if you accepted them.”
You bite your lip in hesitation, unsure of how to refuse again without being rude. But Silco looks at you so earnestly, eyes bright even as a cloud passes overhead, casting you both in shadow.
The rebuttal you were composing dies on your tongue, and you smile at him instead. “Well, if you insist… thanks.”
You reach out and take the cans. They’re smooth and cool to the touch, brand new and unopened. Silco smiles back at you as you put them away with your other supplies.
“I’m afraid I must ask for your assistance again,” he says. “I hope it won’t be too much trouble.”
“What’s up?” you ask, curious.
“Where did you get this?” he taps the scissor lift with his knuckles, light metallic echoes filling the air.
“I’m borrowing it from a friend.”
“You seem to have many connections beyond the Council,” he muses. “Do they have another I could borrow?
You hmm in thought as you try to recall. “Not that I know of,”
“Would you be able to lend me this one?”
“No, sorry,” you say with sincere regret. “I’d let you use it if I could, though.”
“What if I needed it for a good cause?” he asks. The edge of his lip quirks upward in a mischievous smirk.
“I want to believe you, but would you tell me if I asked?” you purse your lips at him, amused.
“I have a friend who needs help with renovations. This machine would be a great help,” he says eagerly.
“Well, I can get you a copy of the blueprints. It’s the best I can do,” you offer.
“That would be wonderful,” he says. “I must thank you, again.”
“No problem. Maybe you’ve heard of the engineer? He’s a kid genius from the Undercity,” you say conversationally. You climb up onto the scissor lift and take a seat, resting your chin on the railing.
“I’m afraid I’m not acquainted with any children of that caliber.” Silco leans against the vehicle to look up at you.
“He’s brilliant,” you say proudly. “He just applied to Piltover Academy, we’re hoping they’ll accept him.”
Silco’s smile dissolves, and he looks at you coolly. “Why?”
“There are no good schools for him here,” you say sadly.
A muscle jumps in his cheek as he clenches his jaw. Frustration rolls off him in waves. You cross your arms on reflex, a weak protection against his simmering disapproval.
But still, he remains quiet. Even if he doesn’t try to disabuse you of the notion, he’s clearly unhappy that you’re right.
“Being at the Academy would be good for him. It’s safer there and he’ll learn so much,” you point out. “He’ll get three square meals a day and have a solid roof over his head. He won’t have to hold onto his cane in his sleep and be scared that someone might steal it. And the air is pure! He’s young enough that he can still avoid irreversible lung damage.”
Silco still doesn’t say anything. He stands even straighter, the harsh line of his shoulders cut with irritation.
“He’ll be better off Topside,” you say softly.
“But you would still deprive the Undercity of his talent,” he stares at you, hard flint in his eyes.
“Maybe he’ll come back when he’s grown up.”
He doesn’t bother pointing out the miniscule likelihood of that happening, raising a skeptical eyebrow at you. Not many Zaunites get the chance to access higher education in Piltover, and they tend to settle down there once they’re finished. No one in their right mind would give up the good life once they earned it.
Before you can spend too much time waffling for something else to talk about, the sound of ringing bells echoes throughout the air. Even from this distance, the Piltover clocktower’s clanging is loud and disruptive, interrupting you before you have the chance to change the subject.
The cacophony chips away ever so slightly at Silco’s hardened façade as he leans down to pick up his backpack. He zips it shut and slings it over one shoulder smoothly, not bothering to look at you.
“Duty calls,” he says. His voice is smooth now, an indifferent calm unrolled over it like a fresh carpet. His glance at you is cursory, the bare minimum politeness of acknowledgment. “I must take my leave.”
“I’ll have the blueprints ready for you tomorrow,” you promise.
“Please don’t hurry on my account. There’s no need to rush,” he assures you.
“Well, you know where to find me,” you say. “I’ll be here for a while, the mural is going to take at least a couple months.”
He nods in recognition, then turns away from you, walking towards the depths of the Undercity.
“Silco?” you call out to him.
The man stops in his tracks and looks over his shoulder at you, boredom in his half-lidded eyes.
You get to your feet, uneasy. Even in its compact state, the scissor lift raises you high above the ground, way above Silco’s head. But the combined height does nothing to help your confidence as you waver to tell him something—anything—that might make him think better of you.
“I… I want to help the Undercity too, you know,” you finally say hesitantly. “I’m not just a painter, I do other stuff too—stuff that’s actually useful...”
Silco doesn’t ask you to elaborate, but his gaze softens. The wind teases his hair, a lock of it falling into his face.
“I don’t know what it is you do to help the Undercity but… I’d do anything to help Zaun. So if you’re trying to help… I can help you, too. And you know where to find me,” you repeat yourself, trying to sound confident.
For a long moment, he stares back, appraising you critically just like the first day you met. You stand a little straighter, determined not to fold under his scrutiny.
The stillness stretches for what feels like an eternity, a tarp wrapping itself tight around the space between you both, trapping the air and your body in place. It feels like the sky itself cracks into pieces when he finally opens his mouth to speak.
But whatever Silco meant to say, it never comes out; he closes his mouth again, as if changing his mind about whatever he meant to say.
Just as abruptly, he turns away. He continues his retreat from you, descending into the underground with a hand rising lazily in farewell. The shadows melt around him as he disappears from view.
Your gaze lingers after him for a long, long time.
