The house was warm and quiet as you sat in the glider chair with your newborn in your arms. She was falling asleep slowly. She'd suckle and then her eyes would lull shut before she'd startle herself awake and start to pull at your nipple like a ravenous animal again. You smiled and smoothed your fingers over the soft hair on her head. It'd only been a week and a half since she was born but you already felt like she was your everything. It surprised you how deeply you already loved her.
Elara came a little early but you were ready for her. Harry said she wanted to make it in time for Christmas. She had to be monitored for a few extra days but she was healthy and she was perfect.
You saw the glow from the Christmas tree lights filtering into her room from downstairs and then heard a little rustling. Harry must have also been up. He was sleeping when you got up to feed the baby but he often would wake up when you'd get up. It was still something to get used to. You were more exhausted than you'd ever been in your life but maybe that explained why you were so deliriously in love with her.
Her suckling grew weak again, little eyes closed, and then… she was fast asleep. After waiting a few minutes, just in case, you carefully and gently got up from the chair and tiptoed to her crib to lower her down all without waking her.
She was perfect. Yes. That was true. But she was easy to wake and she'd cry for hours if she was woken up before she was ready.
Harry stood behind you and placed a hand on your shoulder as he looked down at your little creation with you. He knew better than to even whisper so you both just smiled at one another before quietly padding out of her room and closing the door behind you.
Your body was still sore. You knew it would take time to get back to feeling like yourself. Even walking downstairs felt like something was going to knock loose and fall out of your body. Harry held your hand.
"Merry Christmas, Mama," he kissed your lips softly when you got to the first floor.
The living room was dark except for the soft golden lights wrapped around the faux Christmas tree. You preferred a real one normally but it was too much work that year. Plus the smell bothered you when you and Harry had gone to check out the tree farm weeks earlier.
"Got your gift under the tree," he motioned.
You looked under the tree to see one small box with a bow. You hadn't wrapped any of Harry's and they were all tucked away, hidden in the closet in the basement.
"I didn't wrap yours. I'm sorry," you reached up to cup his face and he brought an arm around your back.
"You already gave me the best present I could ever ask for."
You grinned, "That I did. But you played a major role in that gift. So technically I could consider that a gift from you as well."
He grinned and pressed his lips to yours, "I'd say my role was very minor. All I had to do was get off a few times. You did all the hard work. All the stuff that counts."
A laugh puffed from your lips, "Okay. That I agree with."
You smelled coffee suddenly and realized Harry was making a pot.
"Decaf." He raised his brows at you. You were staying away from caffeine since you were breastfeeding. The doctor said you could have a little bit every day but Elara was fussy enough as it was. The last thing you wanted was a grouchy, angry baby hocked up on traces of caffeine.
"My mouth is watering," you spoke with a smile.
"Why don't you sit down and I'll get your coffee. Then we can open up your Christmas present."
Harry frothed a little milk for you while he took his coffee black. Even he was drinking decaf when he could have just had regular. He walked back into the living quietly, two steaming mugs in hand before handing you yours and sitting his down on the coffee table.
You took a sip as he reached under the tree to pull out the small red box. It had a small golden ribbon tied around it.
"What is it?" You held your palm out as he placed the box down into your hand.
"Well, you have to open it up first."
Taking another quick sip of your coffee before you leaned forward to place the ceramic mug down you looked at Harry with a big grin. The glittering lights from the tree were twinkling off his eyes as he looked down at the box and then up at your face.
You pulled at the ribbon and then paused when he sat up, about to push himself off the cushion, "What are you doing?"
He swallowed and you noticed that he suddenly seemed nervous, anxious. He shook his head and shrugged, "Nothing. Was just getting comfortable is all."
You squinted at him as he looked down at your hand. Then it was your turn for the nerves to take over. You couldn't be sure what was in the box but something told you that it was going to change everything. You knew Harry very well and his sudden excitement had your heart pounding in your chest. And given the size of the box…
"Harry…" you blinked your eyes and placed your hand over the lid as you swallowed.
"Just open it, baby. See what it is." He was still sitting at the edge of the cushion, watching you as you pulled the lid off. Inside was another, smaller box—a jewelry box.
You inhaled and looked up at him. He wore a soft smile on his face as he tensed his arms, like he was about to spring from the couch.
The moment you placed your fingers on the velvet-hinged top to lift it, he pushed himself onto his knees and scooted in between your thighs as the beautiful little shining diamond glinted from inside the box. A ring. But not just any ring.
He waited for a beat, his eyes on yours as your jaw dropped and you covered your mouth before looking at him in surprise.
Harry took the ring out of the box and held it between his thumb and pointer finger, "I love you. I want forever with you, Y/n. I know we're not in a rush but I couldn't wait another moment to put a ring on your finger. Tell the whole world you're mine."
You gasped out a quiet sob and just as he was about to continue you leaned forward and wrapped your arms around his neck to kiss him hard. You never imagined that you'd cry when he finally proposed but of course, your hormones were all out of whack and you'd been finding yourself crying for the smallest things lately.
He laughed when you pecked kisses over his cheek, "Yes, Harry…"
"Baby, I didn't even finish th—"
You smushed your lips over his again, swallowing his words as he pulled you into his arms until you were in his lap on the floor between the couch and the coffee table.
"I love you, Harry…" You smeared your lips down to his jaw and he chuckled quietly.
"Gonna put it on?"
Pulling away from him, you looked down at his hand and spread your fingers out for him to slip the ring onto your finger. It was dainty and perfect—one small diamond at the top, set in white gold. You held your hand up, and you admired the way it looked on your hand for a moment.
Harry wrapped his big palm around yours and pulled your hand up to his mouth, "That's a yes? You'll marry me?"
You sputtered a laugh and nodded, "Of course I will."
He kissed your knuckles and grinned at you before you pulled your hand away and wrapped your arms around his neck to squeeze him tight. Harry tucked his face into your hair and put his arms around your back.
It was going to be the best Christmas day ever. Fae would be coming by for a couple of hours and then your parents later in the evening. Telling everyone you were finally engaged would be exciting but the best part was that you and Harry had the most precious gift lying upstairs sleeping already.
You placed your hand over his chest and ran your nose against his, "I'm so happy, Harry. I love you so much."
He shifted his legs and ran a big palm up your back, "That's all I want, for you to be happy, Y/n."
Harry got exactly what he wanted because you'd never been as happy as you were in that moment.

i am having a rough mental health day so here’s some christmas bakugo fluff
“mina, if you sing that song one more time I swear to god I’m going to—“
“kats!” you hiss, tugging his sleeve.
he harrumphs. “what? it’s annoying me.”
kirishima laughs from the kitchen, pointing at katsuki, who is standing in front of the christmas tree with his arms crossed.
“everything annoys you.”
katsuki rolls his eyes, and you can’t help but let out a small giggle as you watch him. he’s wearing a santa hat (courtesy of ochako), and yet he still has his signature scowl on his face.
his eyes snap to you upon hearing your giggle, and the corners of his lips tip up in a small smile. he reaches a hesitant arm around you, plucking your now empty glass from your hand.
“do you want more?” he asks quietly, eyes soft as he gazes as you.
you nod, smiling softly at him.
he then goes into the kitchen, smacking kirishima on the side of his head as he passes him.
“i don’t know how you did it.” a voice says next to you. you turn, seeing mina leaning over the couch where you’re seated, chin resting on the backing of the couch.
“did what?”
she sighs happily, reaching out to twist one of your curls around her finger.
“katsuki’s never…well, you know how he is. i don’t think he’s ever considered that another person could love him, and then you found him. and i don’t think i can ever thank you enough for showing him that he deserves to be loved.”
“I—he means the world to me.” you say quietly.
mina grins, then lets go of your hair, standing as you turn your eyes to the blonde who was making his way back over to you. he hands you your drink before leaning down to whisper in your ear. “wanna go somewhere a little quieter?”
you nod, heart thudding as you stand and follow him to the dining room where towers of cookie boxes are stacked, a result of a baking contest gone awry a few nights ago (izuku won, of course).
katsuki stands there for a few seconds, eyes shifting around the room nervously.
“i uh. i got you a gift.” he says quietly, avoiding eye contact as he slips a small white box from his back pocket.
you take it from him, eyeing the badly wrapped box with amusement.
“y—you got this for me?” you breathe.
he nods, a hand coming up to scratch his neck, heat flooding to his cheeks as he brings his eyes up to yours. you carefully unwrap the gift, taking the top of the box off and gasping at what lays beneath.
“katsuki, this is beautiful.” you say in awe, gently pushing back the wrapping and taking the rose gold necklace out. there was a small heart on the thin chain, and you gingerly touch it, eyes filling with tears.
“i know i’m not, like, the best at all of this stuff. but i promise i’m trying! i just—well, you deserve so much, and—“
“oh kats,” you whisper, stepping closer to him and cupping his jaw with one hand, necklace dangling in the other. “i love you so much, my sweet boy.”
a big beautiful grin splits his face, his eyes shining as he dips his forehead to rest on your own. “i love you too, my beautiful girl.”

God, Rest Ye Merry
Warnings: kidnap and other dark elements. Not all kinks or triggers are tagged. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
Summary: You're sick and you don't think things can get much worse until they do.
Character: God the Bounty Hunter
Day Twenty-Four of the December Daze Challenge.
Prompt -i'm too sick to go anywhere!
Note: As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
It’s the happiest time of year and you couldn’t be more miserable. Your head is pounding, your nose is stuff, lips cracked from having to breathe through your mouth, and you just want to go to sleep and never wake up. Still, your body is too addled with the flu to allow you that peace.
Watching the snow through the window, you dig deep down to find the strength to go out. You shudder as you hook a mask over your ears and bend the wire across your nose. As much as you’d love to share the cheer, you’re not that type of person.
You take your reusable bag and your keys and set out. You pull your hood up as you emerge into the white swirl. The fur around the edge blocks out your peripherals and before you is an endless sprawl, untouched by shovel or plow. It isn’t far to the pharmacy; across the street and down the next corner.
You trudge through towards the prize of more cough drops and possibly some vitamin C. You’ve gone through most of your supplies, not having bothered to replenish since the last time you had a cold. You’ve been lucky for so long that it has to be absolutely horrid this time.
You kick through the drifts. The snow is getting deeper by the minute. Some might relish the festive fall but you’re not into it. Thankfully, you’re staying in for the holidays. Not that you have much choice with this chesty cough.
The snow dampens the sound and you slow as you come in sight of the pharmacy. The silence is eerily still despite the winds sweeping the flakes over the blanketed ground. You dust the snow from your hood and pivot to see around you. You’re the only one desperate enough to be out on Christmas Eve, aside from the poor retail employees sentenced to work in purgatory for those last-minute sales.
You press on and enter the pharmacy with the jangle of the bell above. You do your best to kick the snow off before you cross the threshold. You pass the shelves of Hallmark cards and wrapping paper and pull your hood down. You read the hanging signs of the aisle and drag your treads towards the cough and cold section.
As you turn down that aisle, the bell on the door rings again. Strange, you didn’t see anyone on the street. It could be someone who works down the next street or someone brave enough to drive in this. You stop before the shelves of cough drops and get the extra menthol. You might try the vapour rub too. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some electrolytes too.
You spend a bit more than you should on your haul but at this point, you’d sell yourself for some relief. You bring it all to the counter as another pair of footsteps softly trace the rows behind you. You pay and the girl behind the till puts it all in a paper bag. You choke back a cough and thank her.
You pull your hood up in expectation of your delve back into the elements and hug the bag to your chest. Your head slumps as the short walk back seems a Tolkien-ish trek in your condition. You push through the door with your shoulder and slow as you step into the calf-deep downfall.
You get about halfway down the street. You’re panting as your legs ache and your chest thrums. You look ahead of you as the soft crush of snow comes from behind you. You blink as your head pulses and you turn slowly as you try to see past your furry hood.
Not fast enough. The snow cushions your fall as you’re thrown into the piles. Your bag falls out of your arms as you murmur and fight weakly against the powder and your own weakness. Your struggle is short and pathetic as the white fades to black, the world and all your agony with it.
💝
You cough yourself awake. Your throat feels as if it’s lined with shards of glass. You groan and chatter as a chill washes over you. Your arms are heavy as you drag them up to hug yourself in an effort to ward off the cold.
There’s a tug on your wrist as you do. Your lashes flutter and your head lolls as you raise your hand shakily. The leather cuff below your hand blurs in your hazy vision. You pull again, the resistance enough to deter you. What is that?
You cough and use your other hand to wipe your nose. What’s going on? What happened to you? You just wanted some relief and now...
You remember falling. Did you trip? No, something knocked you over. You’re sure of it.
You wince and force your eyes open, even as they ache. You peer around the dim space. You lay on a thin mattress on a metal frame. There are two pillows, one under your head, another beside you, a grey duvet over you, and that cuff on your wrist. You lift your hand again and examine the chain attached to it. It trails over the edge.
What the fuck? You’re too sick to even think about trying to get it off. Your eyes scan the shadowy walls, your scalp slaked in cold sweat, and you shiver again. There’s an electric heater glowing orange like the doorway to hell in the corner of the room, and a folding table shrouded in the dim.
All this because you wanted some cough drops. You shake your head, sending another echo of heaviness through it. You whimper and try to touch your temple, the attempt drawn short by the restraint.
“What’s wrong with you?” The voice is like gravel.
You flinch and lift your head, searching the room. Something shifts in the corner and the figure steps closer, his silhouette just discernible against the dark. You scoff and send yourself into a hacking fit. What a stupid question.
“I’m... sick,” you rasp.
He’s silent. He moves around as you try to see him clearer. He goes to the table, still nothing more than a fuzzy blob to you. Something crinkles as he bends and he hauls up the paper bag onto it. He peels open the tear in its side.
He turns and hesitates. He comes around the foot of the bed and the heater gives light to his features. You see him clearer as the single metal lamp next to you illuminates him completely. His features are sharp and stony, his expression emotionless. He holds out the pack of cough drops, almost cluelessly.
“Will this help?”
You frown. You sigh but it catches in your scratchy throat. You reach for the lozenges. He lets you take them. He watches you tear open the package and then unwrap one of the drops. You shove it in your mouth and groan.
“Do you feel better?” He asks.
You squint at him, “not really. They’re just menthol... for my throat.”
“Oh.”
What’s wrong with him? Hasn't he ever had a cold? Bigger question, why did he bring you here?
“I’m not going to hurt you,” he says as if he can read your mind. You can’t help but show your discomfort. “I could but I won’t.”
You frown at him. Did he have to say that?
“You’re sick.”
You nod.
“And alone.”
You don’t move.
“My family--”
“You said you couldn’t go this year. Too expensive to take the train.”
You snap your teeth shut. How does he know that? You look down at your wrist. He does too.
“It’s for safety,” he explains but that doesn’t make sense to you.
“Why...” you begin the question but can’t decide which one would get the right answers. Probably none of them.
“Take another,” he points to the cough drops. You’re still sucking on the other one. You shake your head and drop the pack on the blanket.
“Won’t help,” you croak.
He blinks and his blue eyes round, “what will?”
You just stare at him. You’re half-sure this is a demented fever dream and you’re currently face down in the snow, slowly sinking into hypothermic delusions. He twists on his heel and marches away. He grabs the bag, cradling it to keep the contents inside, and you brace yourself as he comes back your way.
He puts it on the bed and sifts through. He holds up the large bottle of orange electrolytes. “It’s for babies.”
You push your elbows into the bed and sit up. He shifts closer. “You should relax.”
“I can’t,” you say hoarsely and reach for the bottle. “Elecrolytes. Help...”
“Keep you hydrated,” he finishes. “Makes sense. What else?”
He reaches inside and takes out the vapour rub. He examines the tin. He untwists the lid and gives it a deep sniff that makes his eyes water.
“Stinky.”
“Here,” you reach for it but he keeps it away from you as he reads the tiny writing on it. “Spread across chest...” he mutters as he reads then his eyes flick to you, “take your shirt off.”
“What?” You exclaim then cover your mouth as you cough yourself halfway into oblivion.
“I’ll put it on for you. Like it says.”
“I can do it...” your voice crackles.
You don’t have time you react as he reaches for you. He shoves the blanket down then tugs on your sweatshirt, drenched in your feverish excess. You squeak but can’t resist him. He strips it over your head as you writhe helplessly.
You cross your arms over your bra as he pushes his fingers into the menthol rub. As he extends his hand towards you, you shy away. You crush the pillow as he presses his fingertips to your skin and smears the cream over your skin. Your heart is pounding.
“You shouldn’t be afraid,” he says as his touch lingers and he brings his hand down to feel your heartbeat. “I’m taking care of you.”
You furrow your brow and stare at him, in confusion, in horror. You have no idea who he is or what he wants, at this point, you’re rooting for the flu to win. He slowly peels away his hand and caps the tin. He turns and searches around, dissipating back into the shadows.
He re-emerges as he wipes his fingers. He watches you from the foot of the bed as you grab your sweatshirt and pull it back on. He grips the two fingers he used to apply the cream and twists his fist around them and the cloth.
“Are you better now?” He asks.
You close your eyes and sink back into the bed. You can’t. You don’t have the energy for this.
“Not yet.”
“Oh...” he utters as he looms still. “Well, when you are, let me know.”
You snort. The way he speaks, the way he just stares, it’s like he’s missing something. It’s just as scary as the cuff on your arm.
You open one eye and find him still there, watching.
“God.” He says. You open your other eye and tilt your head.
“God?” You repeat.
“That’s me.”
You drop your head again and exhale. Right, so, maybe you are dead.

“You’re sure you’ve got everything?” Sarah asked, her son, Carson, squealing in the background.
“Pretty sure,” Joel said, frowning a little.
“Put me on FaceTime,” she said. “Show me.”
Joel sighed and fussed with his phone until it became a video call, Sarah on the other end with a smudge of flour on her nose.
“Busy over there, baby girl?” He teased.
“Your grandson got me in the face when we were making sugar cookies,” she said. “I haven’t had the chance to get cleaned up yet, the kitchen is a disaster but that’s beside the point, show me Mom’s suitcase.”
Joel fussed with the phone again - having to search for the little button that let him do it, not a fan of figuring out technology without the help of any of his girls - and got the camera to flip around.
“So I put in some of the sweaters she wears a lot,” he said, showing Sarah the stacks. “Some of the pants she likes, too. Got this one dress she looks real good in, real good…”
“Ew,” Sarah said.
“Shut it, kid,” he said. She laughed. “Got the shoes she says are comfortable, some that are pretty, too…”
“Do you have a bag for her?” She asked.
“What do you think you’re lookin’ at?”
“Not that kind of bag,” she rolled her eyes. “I mean a purse.”
“Wouldn’t she just bring the one she uses all the time?” He asked.
“Dad, you’re going to be walking around Paris,” Sarah said. “Spending hours in museums and in stores and lounging at chic cafes, she’s not going to want to carry that giant thing around. In her closet, in one of the dust bags at the top is a smaller bag that Ellie, Evie and I went in on for Mother's Day, grab that one. It’s cross body so she can just wear it, she likes that when she’s walking around a lot. Also, do you have her hair stuff?”
“Hair stuff?” Joel frowned. “Don’t they have that in the room?”
She sighed.
“See, this is why I make you show me,” Sarah said. “Yes, there’s shampoo and stuff but she uses serums and oils and things, she needs those. Bathroom next.”
Joel obeyed his oldest daughter’s instructions, thankful that the two of you were so close that she’d know these kinds of things. He got what she told him from the bathroom and packed it.
“Alright,” she said. “I think you’re all good! Just let her get a book or five at the airport and you’ll be golden, old man.”
“Thanks, kiddo,” he smiled a little. “You still good to take your sister for a while?”
“Of course,” she smiled back. “I love Ellie and Evie can stay as long as she wants until she wants to go back to school. Plus Brandon could use someone to give him a run for his money on this new video game, he’s getting over confident.”
“Thank you for keeping an eye on Ellie,” Joel said. “We’d like to get all you girls on a trip like this with us sometime but for the first one…”
“It should just be the two of you,” Sarah finished for him with a smile. “She’s going to love it, Dad.”
He sure hoped so.
Joel had been planning this for a while. Decades, really.
Back when the two of you were young and flat broke, a trip to Paris had been a pipe dream. You talked about it that way, the same way Ellie talked about going to the moon now, something that you dreamed about but didn’t expect to ever have.
Then Evie came along. Then you were in med school and then you were an intern and resident and attending and Sarah got married and Ellie joined the family and life had just gotten in the way, as it always seemed to.
But it had been a beautiful life and you’d never even come close to complaining about not getting to visit France the way you’d dreamed. As you’d always done, you put everyone else’s needs and wants before your own, constantly looking for a way to make Joel or your daughters’ lives better before thinking of yourself.
But the Paris trip was possible now. The two of you had made more money than Joel had ever dreamed of making, Sarah and Evie were off on their own and Ellie was in a good enough place that she could spend a few weeks with her sister. Things were even calm at work for both of you - Tommy could run the business for a few weeks and Joel had coordinated with your boss to get you time off. It was the perfect time to finally give you something you’d been dreaming of as long as Joel had known you.
Joel didn’t want to put more work on your plate, though, so he worked with Sarah, Evie and Ellie to plan everything. Sarah traveled a lot - she’d made it to Europe long before Joel ever had - and knew how to find a good hotel. Ellie told Joel about the different museums to visit, her passion for art coming in handy as he was planning. Evie - who had even taken after your knack for language - helped Joel learn a few phrases in French (though he was going to be pretty dependent on you to get around.) But that was fine. As long as you were happy, he didn’t care if everyone around him was speaking gibberish.
“Dad!” Ellie yelled from down the hall. “Mom just texted, she’s almost home!”
“Shit,” Joel said, zipping the suitcase quickly. “Stall her for me, will ya?”
“Can do!” She yelled back and he heard her pounding down the stairs to intercept you.
Joel hauled the luggage downstairs the best he could, stashing the packed bags in a room just off the garage so he could wrestle them into the trunk later. He finished just as the garage door opened and Ellie went racing past him to catch you in the car, giving him a chance to slip into the living room unnoticed. You joined him just a minute after he got there, flopping on the couch next to him.
“Tough day?” He asked, putting his arm up so you could snuggle into him.
“Just long,” you sighed. “That early start the day before a holiday made this shift feel like 20 hours, not 12. But at least I have Christmas off to spend with you and the girls before I’m back in on Thursday.”
Joel tried to keep from smiling at the fact that you didn’t know that, by this time on Thursday, you’d be across the world.
“Want to watch a movie?” He asked. “Your pick.”
“Sure,” you snuggled closer. “But let’s see what Ellie and Evie want to watch, I’ll be happy as long as I’m with you guys.”
He kissed your forehead and called the girls down, the two of them settling on Elf followed by Die Hard and you not even putting in a vote for your favorite because you never tried to put yourself first in anything. That’s why Joel was doing all this, to make sure it happened at least now and then. He made you a plate of Chinese food and you fell asleep against him when you finished it, still wearing the Christmas-themed sweater and earrings you’d worn that day to the hospital.
“Alright, girls,” Joel said quietly. “Upstairs, Santa can’t come ’til you’re in bed.”
Evie and Ellie shared a look before looking back to Joel.
“Goodnight, Dad,” Evie said, getting up and helping Ellie to her feet, too. “I hope Santa can get Mom upstairs OK…”
He snorted and watched the girls go to their rooms before laying you gently on the couch. He went and got the presents out of your closet and stashed the suitcases in the back of the car. He stuffed the stockings - you sleeping peacefully the whole time - and set up the living room the same way he’d done since Sarah was little before gently rousing you from your long winter’s nap.
“C’mon, baby,” he said softly, cupping your face, thumb brushing your cheekbone. “Bed time.”
“But…” you sat up, groggy. “We gotta set up Christmas and…”
“Already done,” he smiled. “Let’s go, sleepyhead.”
You sighed contentedly as he looped an arm around your waist and guided you groggily to your room.
“You’re the best husband in the world, you know that?” You said as you burrowed against his chest once you were both in bed.
He smiled.
“Doin’ my best, baby.”
***
You definitely missed having little kids on Christmas morning but having older ones had its perks.
You woke up before Joel, your unreasonably early day - and bed time - on Christmas Eve rousing you before the sun.
Your husband was still snoring gently and you just watched him for a moment, a peaceful look on his face in the red and green glow of the lights on the eaves outside. You smiled. There was something so damn beautiful about the man you’d married more than 20 years ago, just getting to look at him while he slept made you feel unreasonably lucky, like you were getting away with something you shouldn’t.
You ran your fingers through his hair, slow and gentle, and he stirred, smiling every so slightly before delicately catching your wrist and bringing it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to your pulse.
“Merry Christmas,” you whispered.
He smiled broader, his eyes still closed.
“Merry Christmas.”
“Want one of your presents now?” You asked and he opened one eye so fast it made you giggle. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
You leaned in close and kissed him softly, almost chastely, before moving down his body and nudging him onto his back as you went. Your lips went over the firm expanse of his chest, the soft warmth of his stomach, down to the top of his pajama pants where his thick length was already hardening for you.
You tugged the pants down enough that you could get at his cock. You licked the tip of him, tongue circling his head before you wrapped your lips around just the very end, sucking softly at his precome.
“Goddamn baby,” he said, already breathless, his hand coming to the back of your head as you took the whole of him slowly, tantalizingly into your mouth.
Once you swallowed him into your throat, you moaned and held him there, sucking and savoring him before starting to move over him. You pressed your tongue against the thick vein that ran along the underside of his cock, making his head run along the roof of your mouth as he started to move in shallow, gentle thrusts, working himself deeper, groaning as he did.
“Can I have that soft little pussy, too?” He asked eventually, sounding desperate, his grip tightening on your head. “Because goddamn baby if I don’t need you right now.”
You sucked him all the way to the tip before releasing him from your mouth.
“You can have as much of me as you want,” you said, breathless yourself. “I’m all yours.”
Before you had the chance to start sucking him again, he tugged you back up his body, laying you beside him before rolling to face you. He gripped your thigh, tugging your leg over his hip and tucking your panties to the side before petting at your leaking entrance.
“Good,” he whispered. “Just the way I want you.”
The tip of his cock replaced his fingers and he thrust just the head of himself inside of you, stretching you enough that you had to press your face into his chest to muffle your moan.
“How do you always feel so goddamn good, baby?” He asked, tugging you closer as he pushed inside. He tucked your head below his chin, one arm below you and around you, his fingers spread wide between your shoulders, his other on the small of your back holding you in just the right place. You were completely enveloped by him as he filled you to the root, everything about your husband completely surrounding you. “Don’t deserve something as good as you.”
You just groaned in protest, not really able to form words, too overwhelmed by the way Joel was completing you.
Instead, you rocked your hips against him and he responded in kind, the two of you moving slowly, firmly against each other. Heat drew low inside you, concentrated on where Joel was shaping you to him and you grew tighter and tighter around him, your orgasm growing sure and steady.
“You gonna come for me?” He whispered in your ear. You moaned and nodded against him. “Good, want you to come for me, let me feel it baby, milk me dry, c’mon.”
You let out a strangled little sob as you obeyed, your channel fluttering and rippling around him.
“There she is,” he breathed, keeping his pace inside you, the tip of his cock pressing into the soft place within you that made your back arch and toes curl as he ground himself deep. “That’s it, baby, keep coming, come on my cock. Fuck, you take it so well, come so pretty for me, just keep… keep…”
He squeezed you tighter, thrust impossibly deeper and you felt him come apart inside you with a needy grunt, throbbing deep and hard as he filled you, drawing your orgasm out as he did.
You went limp in his arms as your climax eased and his hold on you loosened just enough that he could kiss you, his lips gentle on yours as both of you came back down to earth.
“Dunno that anything’ll top that present,” he teased lightly and you laughed.
“One of the upsides to not having little kids running in here at six in the morning,” you smiled before kissing his chest and snuggling closer. His cock was softening inside you, the combination of his come and yours starting to drip from you. “Can we just stay like this for a while? I miss you when you’re not inside me.”
He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, his fingers trailing over your spine.
“Course baby,” he said softly. “Think we got a bit before the girls start moving.”
You luxuriated in the slow start to the morning, drifting in and out of consciousness with Joel’s cock nestled inside you, your husband thrusting slowly and gently now and then so he stayed deep. The sun had just started to peek through the blinds when you heard a toilet flush down the hall and you kissed Joel one last time before slipping him from you, adjusting his pants and your panties before the girls were knocking on your door.
You loved Christmas morning with your family, loved the sense of joy and closeness as you watched your daughters open presents while you sat on the couch, snuggled up to Joel with a cup of coffee in your hands. You’d never had a holiday quite like this one growing up, always just you and your grandmother making the best of it. You treasured that, too, but it was different now, when you were surrounded by the people you loved more than anything else who loved you in return.
Ellie was super excited about a set of really nice markers you’d asked Andrew for help in researching, Evie shrieked with glee over concert tickets for her and her girlfriend and Joel kissed you so deep when he opened the fancy coffee maker you got him the aching place between your thighs throbbed again.
After cinnamon rolls and bacon and coffee made with Joel’s new toy, the four of you headed to Sarah’s, laughing as Carson showed you everything Santa brought him and giving Joel a look when he gave his grandson candy behind his daughter’s back.
“Well,” Joel said, downing the last of his beer as your entire family sat around Sarah’s table after dinner and dessert, you tucked contentedly against his side. “I’m afraid we gotta hit the road.”
You frowned, twisting to look at him.
“What?” You asked, looking down at your watch. It was barely five. “No we don’t, I don’t need to be in until tomorrow afternoon, we can hang out and…”
“No, Mom, you do really need to go,” Sarah said, a serious look on her face.
“Yeah,” Ellie nodded. “Don’t wanna be late.”
“Late for what?” You said.
Evie looked up from her phone.
“I just checked and everything is on time,” she said.
You laughed, looking around at your husband and daughters.
“What are you talking about?” You asked. “What’s on time, everything is closed. Are we going to a movie?”
“I mean, we can when we get there if that’s what you wanna do,” Joel shrugged. “But you’d have to translate for me the whole time.”
You frowned, looking around again, all your children looking like they were about to burst with excitement.
“Can someone clue me in?” You laughed again. “Because I’m at a loss…”
“Oh, right,” Evie said, going into her purse, pulling out an envelope and handing it over. “Guess you’ll need that.”
Joel was trying to hide his grin but you knew him too well for that and you just raised your brows at him as you opened the envelope. He just shrugged a little, his smile getting harder and harder to conceal.
“What are you all up to?” You teased as you opened the envelope, unfolding the papers that were inside.
“Guess you’ll have to look,” Joel shrugged.
You rolled your eyes good naturedly before looking at the pages in your hands.
It took you a second to realize what you were holding: a flight itinerary.
You frowned.
“Joel?” You asked looking over at him.
“Yeah, baby?”
“Joel, this…” you looked back at the paper, your heart racing. “Joel, this is a plane ticket.”
“Is it?” He asked, smile apparent in his voice.
“Joel,” you looked at him again. “This is a plane ticket to Paris. And it leaves in four hours.”
“Technically, I think it’s two plane tickets,” Joel said, sitting up to look over your shoulder. “First class, in case you wanted some room to sleep on your first overseas flight.”
“But…” Your eyes ranged over the ticket before looking around, all your daughters grinning like the cats who ate the canaries. “I have work!”
“Well, see, that’s where you’re wrong,” Joel smirked. “Talked with your boss back in October, you’re not due back to the hospital for a few weeks.”
“I…” you looked down and back up again. “I need to pack!”
“Wrong again, Mom,” Sarah smiled. “Dad took care of that. And I checked his work, you’re good.”
“We need to plan…”
“I gave him a list of all the coolest museums,” Ellie said proudly, cutting you off.
“And I helped Dad be a little less totally useless in French,” Evie added.
You looked around at all of them, tears stinging at your eyes.
“You all planned this?” You asked, a lump in your throat. “For me?”
“Been a long time coming, baby,” Joel smiled, his large hand cradling your elbow, thumb rubbing gentle circles over you. “You deserve it. Have for a while.”
“He’s right, Mom,” Sarah smiled, too. “After taking care of all of us over the years, it’s about damn time.”
“You’re the best mom in the world,” Ellie agreed. “Figured it was time that you see some of it.”
“You always do everything for all of us,” Evie said. “We really should return the favor now and then.”
You looked back at the tickets, covering your mouth with one hand, giving up on trying to keep from crying.
“I…” you sniffed. “I don’t know what to say!”
“How about we just say bon voyage,” Evie said. “Because you need to get on the road or you’re going to be late for your flight!”
You let your children usher you and Joel to the car and you gave everyone hugs as Evie and Ellie got their bags from the trunk so they could stay with Sarah. You hugged them all goodbye, having to dry your tears every time you realized exactly what was happening: You were finally going to Paris, a place you’d always wanted to go, on a trip planned by the people you loved most.
Joel drove the two of you to the airport, you practically glowing the entire way. Joel didn’t let you carry your own bags and you were still in disbelief as you settled into your seat on the plane, a glass of champagne in your hand as you waited to take off.
“So,” Joel smiled, watching you. “You excited?”
“I can’t believe it,” you said, laughing a little. “I can’t… You really shouldn’t have done all this, not for me!”
“Oh baby,” Joel reached out and cupped your cheek. “You’ve done nothin’ but take care of everyone else as long as I’ve known you. Don’t think I can ever do enough to repay you for that but you gotta let me try, at least at Christmas.”
You smiled and leaned over to kiss him.
“I think I can handle that.”
He smiled.
“Merry Christmas, baby,” he said. “Or should I say… joyeux noël? That right?”
You laughed, his accent comically bad but so charming you had to love it.
“That’s right,” you said. “Joyeux noël.”

Keeping Warm
Another request, thank you so much. Again, reminding people that these usually take some time!! I loved the concept of this one, and believe me when I say that I love to write smut (blog is 18+ minors get away). It's not exactly like the request, but I still hope you like it.
And Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Not gonna be active today, so please enjoy this one and send requests if you want me to take a look at them later. Have a nice day everyone <3
Basically, reader comes to the lodge with Josh a day earlier to set everything up, and they have to get the guest cabin ready. Snow storm, they're snowed in and have to keep warm (you can imagine where this goes).
Word count: 3,3k (Unedited)
i absolutely adore your work, especially the drugged chocolate ones was such a trip!! i was hoping if you could write about josh and reader being stuck in a snow storm. being stuck somewhere, a car or a small cabin (whatever works for you!) and having to have sex for warmth. i know this request is kind of silly but i could totally imagine josh asking this just to be funny and being shocked that reader agrees to do it.😭 (@dissolvedprincess)
“Should we go and set up the guest cabin for Emily and Mike?” I ask, fluffing the last pillow on the sofa.
“Are we done here?” Josh comes into the room, looking around for any imperfections. Everything is cleaned, changed and heated up. I take it all in, the coziness of the lodge is like no other. It is perfect.
“Yes we are, don’t you think?”
He comes up behind me, seeing everything from my perspective.
“Yeah, looks great, guest cabin next
We take our jackets, not bothering with extra sweaters and outerwear. We aren’t going to be long, just change the sheets, check if there’s firewood and do a quick cleanup.
Everyone is arriving at the lodge tomorrow night, and I volunteered to come with Josh to prepare for it. The weekend was going to be awesome. Drinking, dancing and talking. I do have an ulterior motive to the kindness I’m paying him. Usually he does these things himself, but by coming with him, we could get some alone time. Not that it would lead to anything, either way, I enjoy his company.
We go outside, the snow-filled wind immediately hitting us. I knew it was brewing up for a storm, but I didn’t expect it to come so early. I look over at him, and he has his hand in the air, reaching out for me. I grab it, holding firm so I don’t lose him. We can barely see, barely open our eyes to follow the path before us.
He leads me down, an occasional swing to the side and a little hill here and there. We walk up a couple of stairs when we suddenly hear a loud wolf’s howl. Fucking hell, was this mountain trying to kill us? Luckily, he’s basically grown up here, and knows by heart the way. I finally glimpse the little cabin in the distance, dark and empty. I collect my last strength, one hand still in his and the other in my pocket to keep its warmth. There’s a bunch of snow in front of the door, but he kicks a little away, as if that’s going to help. Hands go in his pocket, finding the keys. He fumbles with them, finally finding the right one and unlocking the door. He struggles to open it, the snow going too high. I try to help him, using my hands to mow as much of the white coldness away that I can. It finally opens, just enough that one of us can press through at a time. I go first, letting him hold the door open. He quickly follows, squeezing his body through the tight space.
As the door closes, a blissful silence falls over us. The only sound being the wind howling outside, slamming against the wood walls. I look around the cabin. It’s dark and cold, probably dusty as well.
“Fuck, what a weather” he exclaims relieved, taking a deep breath and going straight for the bedroom. I follow suit, helping him find new sheets, organising, cleaning stuff away, and sweeping the floor. We share one lamp, moving from room to room as we do the tasks.
“You know, it was great having someone up here with me this year”
“Don’t worry about it, give me a treat and I’ll come next year as well”
“You’re that easy?”
“In this area, yes”
He laughs at my response, and I sit down on the couch, finally being able to relax a bit. He sits down beside me, legs touching as he makes himself comfortable. I look over, noticing that his gaze is already on me. Eyes move up and down, taking in every inch of me as I’m laid out on the couch.
“Staring a bit much are we, Washington?”
“Can’t help myself”
“I mean, if I was wearing a bikini and sitting in a hot tub, I’d be flattered. But you’re literally looking at wool and a massive jacket”
“Hey, I know what I’m into, you don’t”
I smile, the playfulness of it all getting to me.
“I don’t know what you’re into or what I’m into?”
“The first one you know”
“That you’re into wool and big jackets”
“Like thinking about what’s underneath”
“Good play Josh”
I laugh, standing up and taking a last lap around the cabin. The bedroom’s good, the kitchen’s good and the living room’s great.
“I think we’re good to go back”
He stands up as well, grabbing his knees and grunting like an old man. He takes a quick look around, being satisfied with the result.
“You’re right, it’s starting to get cold”
We go to the door, and he tries pushing it open. It doesn’t budge. He tries again, putting more force into it than last time. It still doesn’t open. He keeps trying, and I move over to the window to look outside. We’ve been in too long, and the snow is now reaching up to our waists, the storm still going strong.
“Josh, I don’t think we’ll be able to get out”
He moves to my side, seeing the snow balling on.
“Windows” He comments, eyes widening in realisation, glad for the solution he conjured. We try to open it, but to no avail. We try the other one as well, but they’re both frozen shut.
“Shit, shit, shit”
“Do you have your phone?”
I reach in my pockets, making myself aware that I left it back at the lodge. He hums, trying to think.
“Okay, I think I’ll pass sometime during the night, right?”
“I believe so” I try to stay hopeful, even with our clothes, the cabin was freezing.
“Hey Josh, how about we start a fire?”
He answers by moving over to the fireplace, sitting down and giving a loud sigh. What was the problem now?
“Out of firewood”
“You’re joking”
“I wish I was”
I whine out loud. What the hell were we gonna do? The only way out is blocked. Even if we manage to remove some of the snow, the storm would replace it easily, leading to us being exhausted and frozen.
He walks over, hands going to either side of me and holding tight. I look up, finding his eyes oddly comforting, though being anxious himself. I take a deep breath, meeting his gaze before leaning on him, burying my head in the crook of his neck. I wasn’t going to be so shameless to sniff him, but my body listens before I think. Like warmth and fire, how ironic.
“Listen, this is going to be great”
I move away, rolling my eyes and giving him a ‘oh, really’-sarcastic look. He smiles, hands gripping even harder and moving up and down, warming me up.
“It is! Look, we’ve been cleaning and preparing all day, now we’ll relax, talk and just enjoy the night”
“Josh, it’s freezing”
“We have each other. At least I didn’t send you here on your own” He laughs, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Would you?”
“Nah, I wouldn’t”
I sit down on the couch, and he goes into the bedroom to get the covers and some more blankets. We get cozy, sitting beside each other in front of the cold fireplace and telling stories. We talk about Chris and Ashley, as well as Mike and Emily.
“You have noticed the tension between Jess, Emily and your sister, right?”
“Who hasn't?”
We go into detail about our lives, and just now, I realise how little I actually know about him. I haven’t gone beyond surface level, which is partly his fault because of the fake persona he always displays, but still…
“Wait, you had a thing for me?”
My eyes widen at the realisation, a book which I could never imagine was opened. He once liked me. He thought about me, and felt a certain way.
“Well, had and had… But, you know”
“Yeah, would be a bit weird for the others, don’t you think?”
“Not as weird as Mike’s triangle-drama” he states, laughing at the man.
“Isn’t it technically a quadruple-drama?”
“Wouldn’t that be a foursome?” I think for a minute, intrigued by the affairs. I could be, I bet Mike would love it, but I don’t think that’s the right term.
“No, that’s just sexual, this is just drama”
“Speaking of sex and sexual appeal…” Josh starts, and I can help but snort. How the conversation has turned. I never imagined myself talking about this, with him, here.
“Was all this a plot just to make me tell you this?”
“Maybe” he answers, a playful smirk on his lips. He loves the direction this is going, he’s intrigued, interested. Of course he is. It’s freaking Josh Washington.
“Okay then, let me tell you. If we had a fire here, I might do it right here”
“Really?”
“Wouldn’t be the first time”
His eyes widens in surprise, brows furrowing in confusion. Oh, it sounds like I’ve done it ‘here’ before, which is absolutely not what I meant
“You mean that time you and Sam shared this cabin…”
“No, no! Sorry, I worded that wrong. I just meant to say that fire in itself is a bit of a vibe, mood lighting and all”
“Ohhh, yeah”
“Not that I’ve done it here, I’ve never had sex on a mountain before”
“You don’t say” his tone is different, something darkly curious in it. I smile at him, aware that I’ve shared a bunch and he hasn’t shared anything.
“I do, have you?”
He pauses, looking at the imaginary fire we’ve constructed, keeping us warm. None of us are, which is why we’re automatically sliding closer and closer. We can’t help it, it’s just instinct at this point.
“No I have not”
“I’m surprised”
“What, why?”
“Well, bring a girl up to a mountain, your secluded beautiful bachelor pad. Who knows what might happen”
“Are you saying we should…”
“You wish Washington”
He puts his hands up in defeat, grinning at my smiling face. I’ve never connected with him this way before. There’s something different about it, as if everything happening is supposed to. We’re supposed to be trapped here, in the ice cold cabin, fighting for warmth together.
“Maybe I do”
I laugh, thinking back on all the things I’ve imagined before. I know I have a dirty mind, but when my thoughts are filled with this man, I can’t help myself. I lean my head against his chest, pulling all the layers over us as I close my eyes.
“Let me know when the storm is over”
“You know you should never sleep in situations like these”
“You’re here, I’ll be okay”
***
I wake up shivering. The wind is still howling outside, and the room is icy. Josh has his eyes closed, probably sleeping.
“Psst, Josh” I whisper, my body vibrating as I speak. He opens his eyes, body suddenly aware of the cold air surrounding him.
“Shit, it’s cold”
“Should we try to get back to the lodge?” I propose, breathing coming in quick and fast. This was not good. We’re literally going to get hypothermia if we keep like this. He stands up, arms around himself as he looks out the window.
“It has calmed a bit, but seeing our condition, we’ll not be able to get all the snow away”
“Fuck” I shutter, pressing the covers harder on me as if it’s going to work. He sits down beside me again, starting to remove his clothing. My mouth opens as he keeps going.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Body heat, take your clothes off”
“You know the first factor that you have hypothermia is that you want to remove your clothing?” I add, the idea being odd. I know it’s a legit thing, but at this point, the covers seem like the best options.
“So, I guess you are not reason enough?”
“If I wasn’t freezing to death, I would laugh at that”
He finally reveals himself, taking the last shirt off before moving to his pants. I shake my head, what am I going to do?
“What are you waiting for, I’m going to freeze to death alone and you have to wait here for backup with my dead corpse”
I oblige, starting to take off my clothes. The jacket, the sweater, the shirt…
“How much am I taking off?”
“As much as possible”
“Josh, is it really necessary t-”
“Oh, fuck it” he exclaims, taking hold of my pants and dragging them off, leaving me only in my underwear. He’s quick to lay down, pulling me on top of him and the covers over us. I almost faint from the warmth. His chest is hot, heart beating rapidly as his cold hands run over my naked back. Our legs tangled together, his crotch by mine as I try not to think about our position. I do my best to adjust my breathing, calming myself and forcing my brain to stop the conjuring of dirty images. The silence is deafening, and I ask the only appropriate question that comes to mind.
“Why shouldn’t you sleep in situations like these?”
“What?”
“I know we shouldn’t, but why?”
His hand keeps drawing circles on my back, occasionally touching the hem of my bra.
“Because our body temperature lowers when we sleep, we don’t use as much energy, like an energy-saver”
“Oh, yeah, makes sense. You keep active and work out so your body gets hotter. It’s such a simple concept, I just didn’t really think about it” I exclaim, a bit embarrassed it didn’t click faster.
“Yeah… You know, there’s other ways to keep warm too” he continues in a whisper, and I move my head, holding myself up as I look down on him. Our faces inch closer, hot breaths colliding.
“Like…” his hand moves under the hem of my panties, tugging at the fabric. I feel him getting harder under me, poking at my dripping heat.
“Like-” I interrupt him with my lips, crashing into him. He answers quickly, opening his mouth and grabbing my ass. He squeezes, causing me to moan into him. My arms fly up, one beside his head and one feeling down his toned stomach. I take him in, his warmth, tracing every curve and muscle.
I start grinding on him, elevating his hardness and making him groan into me. He grabs my thighs, pushing me closer and moving underneath. My body is on fire, kisses getting sloppier and wetter. One of his hands moves to my heat, letting me grind down on his fingers.
“So this is how you’ve felt about me all this time” he coos, stroking the wet fabric. I force myself not to make sounds so early, after all, he gets me all worked up so quickly. How am I going to keep it up?
“I can say the same about you” I state as my hand goes down to cup his bulge. He grabs my thigh harder, a weak attempt at controlling himself. My hand goes to trace the hem of his boxers, teasing him with the movements. He jolts into me, making me yelp and lose my balance, falling over him once again. He grabs the back of my neck pushing my lips down on his. His teeth clasp around my lower lip, definitely colouring it red.
His hands move up to my back, fiddling with the clasp of my bra. It takes a couple of tries, and I try to hide my smile.
“Need help?”
“It’s the position we’re in”
“What, me on top of you?”
“More the freezing cabin-bit, but maybe you’ve got a point”
He manages to unhook it, dragging it off my arms and throwing it in the clothing pile. I’m about to kiss him again, when he takes hold of my body, one hand on my back and one on my thigh, and rolls us around, making him lay on top. The action leaves me in surprise, it was unexpected, but so is he. I should always be on my toes around him.
He captures my lips again, mouth moving to my jaw and down my neck. I can’t help the sounds I make, each one a result of his tender touches. He’s warm and cozy, knowing exactly how to make me melt underneath. His mouth travels down my stomach, leaving kisses and bites all over. I whine at the pain, but he quickly licks and kisses the areas better again. Hands are kneading my breast and thighs, coming slowly up to my wet heat. I grab hold of him, not wanting him to go further down.
“No, please, stay up here with me”
It’s cold without his chest against mine, it feels empty and alone. He smiles at my request, pushing himself up again and letting me feel his lips.
“I’m not saying I don’t want to, but-”
“I know, we’ll keep each other warm”
He speaks in a tone I’ve never heard before, making butterflies flap around in my stomach. It’s loving and caring. A deep voice which makes my toes curl. I’ve never felt as safe before. He takes hold of my underwear, dragging it down my legs. I help him, kicking it off my feet. He does the same with his, leaving both of us pressed together, in an ice-cold cabin, with a bunch of blankets, naked. I feel him stroke my folds, his hardness pressed against me. I yearn for him, waiting for him to take the first move.
He does. Chests pressed up against each other, he lowers himself, slowly filling me up. Head is in the crook of my neck, breathing heavily as he keeps going. Shit, he’s big, not even feeling his thighs yet and still pressing in.
“You’re doing so good for me” he whispers, breathing unevenly and struggling to form the words. Knowing that he’s also feeling this way makes it better. I take hold of his torso, quickly pushing myself completely down on him. We both moan in response, and he doesn’t waste time, starting to move immediately. The cabin fills up with the sound and smell of sex, whimpers and moans in symphony, no one close enough to hear. We’re here, alone and together.
His pelvis rubs against mine, giving me that extra bit of friction to my core. It starts building up, the warmth, the withholding pleasure wishing to cave. His arm takes hold of my leg, lifting it up, letting him dig himself even deeper. My back arches as he does, reaching my cervix, pain and pleasure shooting through me at the same time.
“Fuck, Josh I’m gonna come”
“Mhm, yeah me too”
He pumps in and out, almost leaving me before slamming into me again. His hand grabs my side harshly, leaving marks which’ll stay for days. My arms go around him, pressing him harder against me, elevating the friction and rubbing. I can’t help it, my nails digging into his back, scraping and crying for release. His lips capture mine in a passionate kiss, and I finally come, clenching around him. Feeling my whole body twitch with pent up energy and ecstasy. He rides me through it, pumping until he digs himself deep, coating my walls in white release.
The room is filled with deep breaths, bodies tight as his arms go around me, head moving up to kiss my cheek. I stroke his back hand hair, not getting enough of him. I just had sex with Josh Washington, but… was it just to keep warm? My own insecurities get the better of me, and as if on cue, he meets my eyes with his, looking for something.
“You okay?”
“I mean, I’m warm”
“That’s not what I mean”
I sigh, the high slowly falling, making my body limb and tired.
“What happens now?”
He smiles, leaning down and kissing me again, this time, more romantic, more real.
“I guess we lay here until the sun comes up. Then we get to the lodge, and maybe we can do this again”
“Again?”
“You know, really do it again”
“Fucking hell Washington, that’s not what I mean”
“I know what you mean, and you should probably stick to calling me Josh”

walk with me
Pairing: idol!BangChan x fem! reader
Genre: fluff
Warnings: chan being a cutie patootie with berry, reader is 22
Author notes: idk, okay?. i'm bored trying to avoid my relatives that are here for the chirstams holidays...please save me...i wrote this to...escape from this house, i hope you appreciate it. i'll probably do a part 2, it's 2:30 a.m here so yeah, and of course it's not proof read! (i'll read it tomorrow) oh and wear sunscreen my kids!!
💌
remember! english it's not my first language, please be gentle with me! let me know if there's any mistastake
💌
requests are open, especially on Christmas!
It's the perfect day in Sydney; the temperature is on point—not too cold, not too hot. It's the right temperature to wear a sundress and a little jumper that you probably won't use because you want to tan before the holidays, even if you want to tan though, you put sunscreen on and lay down on a beach towel in a public park, the grass is green and you can hear kids screaming and laughing while they're playing with a grasshopper and insects, you have a book inside your purse, and cold tea, it's a daydream.
As you lay on the grass, something warm and wet touches your cheek—once, twice. When you open your eyes, you find a small, maybe a little fat dog with a smile on it's face (yes, dogs can smile). You sit down, looking around to find the dog's owner, and there he is the most beautiful, gorgeous man you have ever seen in your entire existence, is it possible? Are you having a heat stroke? He has dark brown curls, the kind of curls you can touch until you fall asleep, he's trying to hide a smile but you can see dimples on his cheeks, he has broad shoulders and big hands, and he looks like a damn Disney prince, are you daydreaming? What the fuck it's happening? "I am so sorry miss" He says in a muffled laugh
did he just called me miss, how old is he? 44? no, that's not possible, he's too beautiful to be this old
"oh, no worries -you giggle- i don't mind kisses from a gorgeous dog like her? are you a she or a he mh?" you say, now talking to the dog that is laying comortably on your lap
"oh uhm, she is right, her name it's berry" he says touching his ear
"Berry huh? what a pretty name" you rub her hear
"well i guess she's comfy there, 'm sorry, she's old and when she lays down somewhere well...umh - he touches the nape of his neck- she stays there for a while" he says looking right into your eyes
"oh, no worries...if you're free we can wait till she gets up" you say patting the place next to you on the beach towel
he smiles and you can finally see his dimples, and boom we're so fucked up y/n.
"your mom didn't teach you to not talk to strangers? i might be a serial killer" he says sitting down next to you
"what about your mom? -you echo- maybe i'm the serial killer" you smile at him
"touchè" he laughs
"i'm Christopher by the way, you can call me Chris or Chan" he says offering his hand
a veiny and big hand
"i'm y/n - you grab his hand and shake it- nice to meet you Christopher" he laughs
"are you from Sydney?" he asks caressing Berry that is still sleeping on your lap
"oh no, i work here, nothing more, what about you?" you say
"I was born and raised here, but i work in Korea, i'm here for the christmas holidays" he explains (not that you can hear something since your too focused on his thick lips, thanks god you're wearing sunglasses)
"Korea mh? and what do you do? CEO in a company? Actor? or you cook kimchi for stray cats?" you ask caressing Berry
he laughs and it feels like the sun just exploded
"I- uh- i'm an idol, nothing special" he shrugs
"an idol?" you echo
"mhmm, i have a group and we sing and dance and stuff like that" he says smiling
oh this dude really loves his job
"stuff like that mh? and are you famous?" you ask caressing Berry's head
"what about you? what do you do?" he asks
"uuuh, you're avoiding the question...is that a yes? you're famous! -you giggle" you say
"shhhh, i'm not, i promise i'm not that famous" he says
"oh...okay..." you look at him trying to see his eyes through his sun glasses
"so...what do you do?" he asks again, caressing Berry's head
"i-uh i work in a library, i own it actually...it's not interesting" you say
"so you read a lot?" he asks
"i do, actually" you say smiling
"and what's your favorite genre?" he asks caressing Berry's body, his fingers brushing against your thigh
"i-do you want the real answer or?" you giggle
"of course i do!"
"smut"
"smut?" he echos
"yes, porn in books, smut, call it how you prefer" you say shrugging
"interesting" he nods
"do you want to grab a coffee with me?" he suddenly asks
"mh? you want to grab a coffee with me?" you ask
"yeah, with you and well berry, even if she might be the third wheel" he giggles
"okay"
"you don't have to if you don't want to, i just asked because you're really cute and yeah i want to know you better" he spits out in one breath
"Christopher i said okay, let's go. I need to know more about your job and i won't leave Berry 'till you make me listen one of your songs, but before we go can i put sunscreen on your face? you burnt your nose" you try not to laugh
"oh? really?" he touches his nose
"mhmm -you nod- may i?" you asked
"sure, go on" he says lifting up his sunglasses
"tell me if i hurt you okay?" you say as you squeeze sunscreen on the tips of your fingers, putting it on his nose in the most delicate way possible
"you're kind you know?"
"i know" you smile
"i feel like a kid...wait i -he grab your hands gently- how old are you?" he asks
"old enough Christopher, don't worry" you smile
"i'm serious how old are you?" he asks
"i'm 22, and you?"
"i'm 27" he sighs and let go of your hands
"damn, what a sigh" you giggle
"i feel like a grandpa" he says
"you're not a grandpa Christopher, not with this body"
"oh-...thanks" he says is it the sun or is he blushing?
"okay, let's go, and by the way, you can't threat me with my dog" he says, getting up, grabbing berry from your lap and offering his hand to you
"what a gentleman! and that wasn't a threat, i just want to...listen to what you do okay?" you say grabbing his hand to get up and fuck he's also tall, and bigger than you expected
"of course i'm a gentleman. and yes, she's my baby, i would do anything for her, even embarassing my self in front of the most beautiful woman in this park with my songs" he says looking at you
"oh-" he giggles
is he flirting?
"come on, i know a good place for a coffee and maybe lunch?" he asks
"i'm right behind you" yeah right behind you staring at your fifty pounds of ass
"you know that my eyes are up here right?" fuck
"no, yeah i know, i was looking for my...purse...yeah my purse"
"liar" he says laughing and you push his back
"shut the fuck up, you've been staring at my boobs the whole time!" you say and he turns around to look at you
"i-did not- okay maybe a little okay? wait...you can see my eyes through the sunglasses" he asks looking down at you
"i do...you can see mine?" you ask
"i do"
"good than we're both idiots"
"maybe a little" he giggles
"come on, let's go we have a 10 minutes walk and berry is heavy"
"ugh, big arms for nothing" you mumble
"i could pick you up with one hand and throw you around if i wanted too" he says walking straight, he and his stupid fucking aura
"damn okay, sorry"
-
ten minutes later you're at the cafe, it's cute and cozy and the sandwiches on display looks yummy, and the man in front of you looks yummy; he took off his sunglasses now and you can finally see his eyes in a decent light, simply brown boba eyes, and you can clearly tell that he is a good man just by looking at his eyes. his eyes are also eating you alive, but again this is another story.

Merry Kissmas, Day 24—Christmas Eve
Arthur is pretty sure now. The events of the last three days have been enlightening.
Merlin feels it too.
He wanted nothing more than to tell Merlin that it was okay, that he had nothing to be sorry for, that Arthur wanted the second kiss too. And a third and a fourth and—
He heaves a sigh as he stands in his kitchen on Christmas Eve morning, waiting for his coffee to brew. There is no work today, but he’s going to Morgana’s Christmas Eve party tonight, which will be in the office, and Merlin will be there.
He didn’t get a chance to tell Merlin anything yesterday. It seemed far too private to say in front of anyone else, and he worried Merlin would be too afraid to meet him in his office again. He considered texting and that was how he realized he didn’t know what to say. Well. He knew what to say, but every way he could think to say it sounded weirdly pathetic. Then he started to doubt if it was the right thing to do at all.
Maybe this is just what it's like when you kiss someone every single day for twenty-three days. Maybe he would have fallen in love with anyone if he did this with them. He certainly didn’t expect to fall in love with Merlin of all people.
This is the doubt he’s been wrestling with, but somehow he knows it’s not true. Somehow he knows this is real.
He knows because of how he always looks forward to Merlin’s kiss. How he always finds himself smiling when he thinks about Merlin, which he does a lot now. The warmth that spreads through him whenever he looks at Merlin, his tousled hair, his ears, the line of his neck, his dirty shoes that are completely inappropriate for an office setting.
He supposes he’s always been a little bit in love with Merlin. But this past month has really brought it to his attention.
At a loss for what else to do, Arthur calls Morgana.
“Hey, Morgana,” he greets, “I was just wondering... is Merlin coming to your party tonight?”
“Yes, as far as I know,” she answers.
“So he hasn’t told you that he won’t be coming after all?”
“Why, is there some reason you don’t want him to come?”
“No, I want him to come. I really want him to come.”
“Is there some reason you think he won’t?” When he doesn’t respond, she continues, “Why don’t you ask him?”
“Er....”
Morgana sighs. “Does this have anything to do with the weird game you two have been playing?”
“How do you know about that?
“Gwen.”
“She told you?”
“I have a right to know when you’re making a fool of yourself.”
“I should never have done any of that stuff in front of her.”
“Oh, she told me about the ones you didn’t do in front of her.”
“Ugh. Merlin. Is there no such thing as privacy?”
“So what’s the problem? Have you fallen in love?”
Arthur is silent.
“Oh my god, you have. Oh, Arthur,” and a hint of humanity slides into her voice, underneath a thousand layers of irony and condescension. “What are you going to do?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.”
“Oh, that’s why you called, you want advice.”
“No, no I don’t want your advice.”
“My advice is simple: follow your heart. Do what it is that you want to do.”
“That’s your advice? Why?”
“Because, I’m pretty sure Merlin wants you as much as you want him and I want him to be happy.”
“You really think that?”
“Yes. For some reason, he really likes you. God only knows why.”
“Thanks, Morgana,” Arthur says, then his sincerity runs dry. “I still think this is a trap.”
She laughs.
He hangs up.
In his own shitty flat that gets shittier the longer he stays at Arthur’s flat, Merlin is also thinking about the last three days and dreading the party tonight. The difference is, he’s still thinking about it in terms of the game. There’s no way he can win, and he doesn’t want to anyway. He thinks a tie would be the most preferable outcome, but at this point, it doesn’t really matter.
Except that Arthur will be insufferable if he wins. And he’ll remind Merlin about it at every opportunity, driving the knife deeper each time. But still, he can’t seem to bring himself to care.
Let him kiss me , he thinks, brooding into his morning tea. I want him to kiss me .
He spends the day dreaming about what it will be like and planning his reaction to it. He has every intention of kissing Arthur back. He’s done that several times and nothing has come of it.
As he’s sitting there, spiraling inside his own mind, he gets a phone call from Gwen and immediately answers it, desperate for anything. “Hello.”
“Hi, Merlin, are you busy?”
“No.”
“Would you like something to do?”
“Yes, please. God, yes.”
“Wow. Okay. I’m helping Morgana decorate for the party tonight and we could use an extra set of hands. And someone taller.”
“I’ll be right there.” He hangs up, leaps off of his chair, and gets ready in minutes flat. He already has his outfit picked out: black jeans that he thinks make his arse look good and an “ugly” Lord of the Rings Christmas jumper with all four hobbits on it.
“That was fast,” Gwen greets him at the door. She’s wearing a red velvet off-the-shoulder dress with her hair pulled back at the nape of her neck except for a couple ringlets that frame her face.
“You look amazing,” Merlin says, taking her in.
“Thank you.” She looks down. “I like your jumper.”
“Thanks.” They hug, and her embrace fills him with a sense that maybe everything will be okay.
“We’re in here.” She leads him further into the building where the party will take place, in the employee break room on the first floor and the wide open space in front of it. It’s a mirror of the second floor where Merlin works and he can’t help but look at and notice all the places that look like the places where he and Arthur have kissed. The front door. The desk that looks just like his. The boss’s office to the side. The table. Against the wall. He tingles at the memories and it makes his heart hurt.
“Lance!” Merlin cries when he sees Gwen’s boyfriend helping Morgana with decorations.
“Merlin!” Lance cries, then comes over and gives Merlin a hug.
“Long time no see,” Merlin grins.
“Yes, too long.”
“Hi, Merlin,” greets Morgana, who is stunning as usual in a green dress, her glossy black hair cascading over one shoulder. She wraps her arms around him and he feels blessed by her presence.
“Wait, I thought you said you needed someone tall,” Merlin says to Gwen, glancing at Lance who is roughly the same height as Merlin.
“We could use two tall people,” she says.
“I can give you a boost and you can help me with these,” Lance says, holding up some artificial mistletoe sprigs.
Merlin looks annoyed at Gwen. “Seriously?”
“Sorry,” she winces.
Merlin shakes his head and turns to help Lance. After Lance gives him a boost and he hangs the mistletoe, he slides down in his arms and they’re left standing together underneath it, looking into each other’s eyes. Merlin blushes, then lets go of Lance, pulls away, grabs Gwen, and throws her into Lance’s arms.
“Hi,” she blinks, grabbing his shoulders.
“Hi,” he smiles, looking at her with the most loving expression.
Merlin watches as they kiss, his smile fading after a moment, wishing he could have the same thing with Arthur.
He feels Morgana’s hand on his shoulder. “Don’t worry, Merlin. I have a good feeling about tonight.”
“Oh yeah? What do you know about it?”
“I know.” And there is a strange twinkle in her eye that gives him an unfathomable sense of hope.
Arthur always arrives fashionably late to Morgana’s Christmas Eve party, but tonight he finds himself impatient and eager to get there, so, after delaying his arrival as long as he can stand, he shows up less than an hour after it ostensibly started.
It appears to be in full swing; there are many people there, most of whom he knows, but there’s really only one person he wants to see.
“Hello, dear brother,” Morgana greets in her sarcastically sweet tone, coming at him from the left and putting her arm around him, a glass of what is probably champagne in her other hand.
“Hello, Morgana,” he sighs, slipping his arm around her waist halfheartedly.
“Merlin’s over there.” She points with her glass and Arthur sees Merlin’s dark hair just poking out above the heads of some other people whose faces he tunes out as he hones in on Merlin.
His palms sweat and his breathing is shallow as he makes his way into the breakroom where Merlin is standing beside a spread of Christmas desserts and, to Arthur’s dismay, is talking to Gwaine, looking very excited to be doing so.
Merlin turns when Arthur comes close and immediately looks annoyed. “Oh, of course you’re wearing a Lord of the Rings jumper. And of course it’s that one.”
Arthur looks down at Merlin’s chest and notices he is also wearing a Lord of the Rings jumper. “What’s wrong with this?” he asks, indicating his own jumper, with the White Tree of Gondor on it.
“You’re wearing that because you fancy yourself Aragorn.”
“And you fancy yourself Frodo.”
“Frodo is the main character.”
“And Aragorn is the rightful king of Gondor.”
They stare at each other in hostility for a moment, before Merlin breaks it with a smile, and Arthur has to smile back. “It is a pretty cool jumper.”
“Thanks. I like yours too.”
“Thanks. Would you like something to drink?”
“Yes, please.”
“Hi, Arthur,” says Gwaine as Merlin turns to fill a champagne flute for Arthur.
“Oh. Hi, Gwaine.”
“Looking forward to tonight?”
“Yeah, it should be fun.”
“I’ll meet you under the mistletoe.” He winks.
“No, you won’t.”
“I’m sure someone will.”
Just then, Merlin hands him his champagne. “Morgana always has the best drinks,” Merlin says. “She has some new purple... punch or something over there.”
“What’s in it?” Arthur asks.
“I dunno.”
“Is it good?”
“I dunno, is it, Gwaine?”
Gwaine takes a drink from his cup. “Very.”
“A bit of advice, for both of you,” Arthur says. “Don’t trust Morgana.”
“I trust her more than I trust you,” Merlin says.
“Oh yeah?” Arthur says, and steps closer to Merlin, who shrinks away just visibly, and Arthur fights the need to back off because Merlin is being ridiculous. “What do you think I’m gonna do to you?”
Arthur sees Merlin’s Adam's apple bob as he swallows. “I dunno. What are you gonna do to me?” He stands up straighter, practically daring Arthur to kiss him.
Arthur barely manages to tear his eyes away from Merlin’s lips. “Nothing.” He steps back and turns toward the table full of Christmas treats. He picks something up without even knowing what it is and puts it in his mouth. A biscuit.
“Well,” says Gwaine. “I guess I’ll see who else I can trap under the mistletoe.”
Merlin is surprised by how normal his and Arthur’s interactions are that night. All his anxiety melted away when he saw Arthur and they fell into their usual banter. They are inseparable all night. They eat. They dance. They drink. But still, Arthur doesn’t try to kiss him.
Merlin can’t understand why. Arthur would win. He’s got nothing to lose and everything to gain. It’s like he doesn’t want to win. It drives Merlin mad, and he’s torn between drinking as much as he can and staying sober so he can enjoy Arthur’s kiss when it does come.
The night creeps by and still it doesn’t come.
Finally, a slow song comes on and people are actually slow dancing to it. Lance is of course a great dancer and Merlin watches him and Gwen for a moment before Arthur approaches.
“Are you going to dance with me on this one?” he asks, slipping his arms around Merlin’s waist.
A spark crackles through Merlin’s body at the touch and his arms are circling Arthur’s shoulders before he can stop them. “Yes,” he hears himself say.
Arthur smiles at him as they begin to sway and Merlin can’t help but smile back as it goes on. He closes his eyes and leans his forehead against Arthur’s. They are the only two people in the world and it feels so strange but so right, moving like this.
“What’s up with you tonight?” Arthur asks after long moments stretch out before them.
“What do you mean?”
“You haven’t tried to kiss me at all. You could tie, you know.”
“I don’t want to tie.”
“Why not?”
This is the moment. Arthur is so close and Merlin could tell him everything, but as he stands on the precipice, he finds he is too cowardly.
Merlin is driving Arthur insane . They are together the whole night, so close they are almost touching, then when they do eventually touch, Merlin won’t tell him what he wants. Maybe it’s all the other people around.
He steps away from Merlin before the song is over and gives him a hard look. Merlin looks surprised, apprehensive even. Arthur looks around for an escape route, sees a broom closet, takes Merlin’s hand, and drags him in there, closing the door behind them.
“A closet? Really?” comes Merlin’s voice in the dark.
“Hang on, I think there’s a light in here.” Merlin is leaning against the wall and Arthur has to reach behind him to find the switch. When the light turns on, he’s crowding Merlin up against the wall.
“What are you doing, Arthur?”
“You have not tried to kiss me all night. Why?”
Merlin’s look of indignation fades into something far sadder until he looks so completely miserable it makes Arthur feel like a terrible person for having done this to him. His arms are crossed, protecting himself from Arthur, but he goes slack, leaning against the wall, all possible traces of anger gone. “You know why.”
All Arthur can hear is his own breathing as he takes it in. He does know why. He’s known it for days. He feels it himself. Neither of them care about this stupid game anymore. It’s gone so far beyond that, it’s impossible to even remember what that was like.
Arthur closes his eyes, then opens them. “Let’s tie.”
“Hm?” Merlin’s brow quirks hopefully.
Arthur takes Merlin’s shoulders in his hands and leans even closer. “I don’t care about the game,” he says, his voice just above a whisper. “I just want you. Let’s tie.”
Then Merlin is leaning forward and Arthur has felt his kiss before, in fact, he’s felt this exact fervor behind it, but this time it is unbound by any pretense and Merlin tilts fully into it, grabbing Arthur and holding him close, so close it’s as if he can’t get close enough, their entire bodies pressed together in the closet, and Arthur finally lets himself go too, exploring Merlin’s mouth like he’s always wanted to and it’s warm, heat spreading like fire throughout his body at every contact point between him and Merlin. He pushes forward, crushing Merlin against the wall because he really can’t get close enough.
He has to pull away for breath and to look at Merlin, flushed and disheveled and beautiful in the harsh lighting.
It is far more than Merlin ever hoped for. Even with all the assurances from his friends and his decision to just let it happen and how seemingly romantic Arthur is being, his heart soars like he can’t believe when Arthur says, “I just want you.”
It is like a dream and despite how dirty it probably is in that closet, Arthur’s kiss is pure and right and sets Merlin alight his entire body over and there is nowhere he’d rather be than between Arthur and that wall. He tastes like biscuits and peppermint and champagne and love.
When Arthur finally breaks away, he is glowing. Even the fluorescent lighting loves him.
Arthur strokes Merlin’s face with his thumb. “You are so beautiful, Merlin,” he says breathlessly. “I’m sorry it took me so long.”
Merlin swallows. “Me too.”
“Now that it’s finally over,” he says, nosing Merlin’s cheek, “I wanna take you home,” a kiss to his jaw, “and I won’t stop until there isn’t an inch of you I haven’t kissed.”
“What? You don’t just say things like that.”
“I do now.” He presses closer to Merlin and a surge of arousal flows through his body like never before.
“Oh god, yes,” Merlin breathes. “Arthur. I don’t know if I can wait that long.”
“You’ve waited this long, what’s a few more minutes?”
“An eternity.”
Arthur kisses him again and it’s the first kiss that is free from the confines of the game. It’s strong and it’s sweet and so quintessentially Arthur. Merlin is thrilled yet not surprised at all that he knows it so well.
As they duck out of the closet, saying a rushed goodbye to the party in general, Gwaine can be heard saying to Gwen, “Finally.”

Hey I love your art, you have such a unique style it's addicting to look at it. Now going through your gallery I was struck with inspiration seeing your human bill art! As I'd love to see your self insert possessed by Bill while in that outfit. She'd totally pull it off now even if u don't still thanks a bunch for all the awesome work!
First ask on this Blog! Yippee!! Thank you so much!! It's always such a surprise when people say they love my art because I never saw it as that special, haha. But I'm happy to inspire others!
That sounds like an awesome idea! I/my self insert use they/them btw! I'm not mad or offended, I'm sure it wasn't intentional :]
If Bill possessed Evan, I don't think he would hurt them like he did with Dipper. He would probably just harmlessly mess with them a little bit because of the good relationship between them :D
and maybe mess with Ford too...

during the holidays, it was tradition to participate in secret santa with the class. you reached into the basket, picking a folded piece of paper with one of your classmate’s name on it. you hoped it was katsuki’s name, but unfortunately it wasn’t. it was mina’s name on the paper, and while you absolutely adore her you had hope it would’ve been him.
you noticed denki handing the basket to katsuki to grab a paper. he unfolded it and hid in his pocket, you couldn’t help but wonder who’s name was on his paper. you had a crush on katsuki for a few months now and when your friends began teasing the both of you, it lead to you slowly getting to know another. you both grew a close bond, causing your crush on him to grow more and more. that same night, you were walking to your dorm when you noticed katsuki opening his door, leaving it slightly open. it was a sign for you to come in, a common thing the two of you do when you wanna talk to each other.
you knock twice before you opened the door, spotting the blonde cleaning his desk. “hey kats, whatcha doing?” you walked up behind him, catching him off guard. he jumped to the sudden question, putting whatever was on his desk away. “nothin, nun of yer’ business.” he closed his drawer, turning around to look at you. “didn’t look like nothing to me, was that for your secret santa?” you teased him, causing him to roll his eyes and sit on his bed. you followed, sitting beside him. “tch, no. i’m not doin’ that.” he spat out. you knew katsuki wasn’t the brightest or most spirited person, but you had hope he would’ve participated if your name was on his paper. guess not.
the next day, you asked katsuki to accompany you to go shopping. you wanted to grab a few things for yourself, but also for mina. you instantly knew what to get her, a gift she’d happily accept. katsuki followed you around like a pup, putting on an act as if he didn’t enjoy it.
you stumbled upon a store that had cute fashionable clothes that appeared to look like mina’s style. you grabbed a couple shirts and skirts and went upfront to pay. at the counter, there was a display of phone charms. you already had one but the color was wearing off and it was hanging on by a thread. you grabbed one of the phone charms to look at it closer, but ended up putting it back since you already have one. katsuki took a mental note of this, looking at your phone charm then looking at the new more detailed one. he knew you liked stuff like that, plus it was time for a new one. after a while, you both decided to head back to the dorms in order to prepare mina’s gift.
katsuki notices everything about you, your favorite coffee order, the way your perfume smells, whether you prefer gold or silver, your favorite flower, and your favorite season.
as christmas came by, your gift was nicely wrapped topped with nice lacy ribbon. you sat on the couch, waiting for secret santa to commence. you noticed katsuki was sitting across from you with his hands in his pockets, a slight angry pout on his face. when it was your turn, you grabbed your gift and walked over to mina. “merry christmas!” she took the gift in her hands, opening it excitedly. she squealed, “aw thank you soo much, yn! i love it!” she stood up from her seat to give you hug. you sat back down and waited for your gift.
after it was over, you realized you didn’t receive a gift this year. “oh, yn doesn’t have a gift? did someone forget?..” you thought to yourself, maybe someone had forgotten to get a gift, or forgotten to put your name in the basket. you went upstairs to your dorm, teary eyed at the fact that someone forgot about you.
you noticed katsuki’s door was slightly open again, you knocked twice before entering. katsuki was sitting on his bed, a gift basket beside him. he still had his typical angry pout on his face, but this time he looked nervous. “merry christmas”, he mumbled looking away from you. “kats? what is this?” you walked up to the basket, quickly noticing how it was filled with everything you love or recently mentioned to him. “ts for you, idiot. i was your secret santa.” you looked at him with tears in your eyes, giving him the biggest hug.
you felt so relieved to know that someone got you a gift, that katsuki had gotten you a gift. “thank you, kats.” you got off of him to look at the basket, you immediately noticed the phone charm. “did you seriously go back just to get this for me?” you picked it up, removing the old one to replace it. “tch, noticed yer old one was all worn out, thought it was time for a new one. yer welcome.” your heart jumped, you never realized how much he truly payed attention to you. katsuki had went out of his way to get everything for you, on top of that decorating it to your liking. “thank you kats.”
“yea whatever.” he mumbled.
christmas couldn’t have gotten any better.

Second Time's The Charm: Christmas
Alexia Putellas x Reader
Summary: Christmas in the STTC Universe
"Alexia!" Mapi shrieks," Alexia! Stop ignoring me! Alexia!"
Alexia hums to herself, hunched over her phone as she scrolls through another website.
Mapi, however, forces her way through mountains and mountains of stacked boxes to get to the other side of the room.
The locker room is covered in boxes from top to bottom with some even crammed into areas that they really shouldn't be able to be forced into.
"Ale! Alexia!"
Alexia looks up in shock. "Oh! Mapi! When did you get here?"
"About ten minutes ago! Which you would know if you didn't have this place stocked up like the back room of a shoe shop!"
Alexia frowns. "What do you mean? There's only five boxes of shoes here."
"I wasn't being literal!" Mapi snaps before massaging her temples with her hands. "What is all this stuff?! And why is it here?!"
"They're presents," Alexia says it like Mapi's dumb," For Christmas."
"Obviously but why are they here?"
"Well, I couldn't leave them at home. Maya's in that exploring stage so she'd get curious and try to look through them. And Elena's learning to crawl and this stuff would just get in way."
"So you thought that you would put all the presents for your whole family in here? With us?"
"No," Alexia scoffs," Don't be silly, Mapi."
"This is only temporary then? Thank god because I-"
"This is only Maya's gifts. Elena's are in one of the meeting rooms and y/n's are hidden at Alba's...Mapi? Are you okay? Your face is turning an odd colour."
Mapi's dramatic walk off is hindered somewhat by smacking her nose straight into a pile of boxes and nearly falling back into another one but, eventually, she manages to storm out and straight upstairs to your office.
You're sitting in your desk chair, looking through player health files or something when the door is slammed open.
"Your wife is crazy!"
"And hello to you too, Mapi. Come on in!"
"Crazy!" Mapi repeats, pacing in short, aggravated circles," She's crazy! The locker room is covered! Covered! In Christmas presents for your daughter! You have to get her to stop!"
You don't have a time to reply because the door swings open again and Alexia bursts in.
"Amor!" She cries," I found the cutest little booties for Elena! Look! Look!"
"No..." Mapi says softly," No...This-This can't be happening..."
"They're so cute!" You tell Alexia with equal enthusiasm," She'll love them so much! Order them! Order them!"
Alexia types in the delivery address and her card details and orders it happily before looking up.
"Where did Mapi go?"
It's a question that neither of you really dwell on that much as you show Alexia your own present ideas.
Wrapping the presents the night before isn't an easy task and you get the feeling that you and Alexia might have gone just a bit overboard. It's only a fleeting thought as you and Alexia wrap the boxes and tie them off with bows, writing sweet messages to your daughters on them even though neither of them can read just yet.
"We're all sleeping together tonight, right?" Alexia asks as she finishes off her last present, placing it in Elena's sizable pile.
"Us and the girls, definitely," You agree," I'm not sure if you'll get all the dogs and Mr Stinky in bed with us."
Mr Stinky looks up from his spot on the special pillow that's reserved just for him on the sofa. The tumours on his body have gotten much bigger now and he's getting weaker and weaker by the day.
He's got one more scan to come back to see if anything can be done but this could be his very last Christmas.
"Mr Stinky won't mind," Alexia assures you," He loves cuddling in our bed."
"And Lady?"
"Lady loves cuddling too!"
"And Sinky and his sisters?"
Alexia purses her lips. The puppies are still a bit wild and excitable at times, none of them ever content to just stay in one place even though the bed is more than big enough for everyone to fit into it.
"We'll leave the bedroom door open," Alexia says sagely, nodding her head like she's just cracked the secrets of the universe," So they can come in if they want."
"Alright," You say, standing up and stretching your back," I'm going to bring Mr Stinky up and then grab Elena. You'll let the dogs out one last time and get Maya?"
Alexia nods, drawing you back for a moment by your waist to press a kiss to your lips.
"I will, amor."
"Good," You say," And hurry up."
Alexia nods along with a smile, already heading to open the back door for the dogs.
Your footsteps approaching again makes Alexia turn and you speak directly in her ear.
"And I've got a very special present for you tomorrow when the girls have gone to sleep."
"Oh?"
You giggle right in her ear, low and sultry. "You're going to have a lot of fun unwrapping me for Christmas."

Aaron’s wife getting drunk on spiked egg nog at a party with the rest of the BAU and she’s just all over Aaron. Kissing every part of his face and pinching his cheeks, she even tells the rest of the team cute stuff he does for her and being like “isn’t he the bestest hubby ever?!” Aaron’s just in the corner blushing lol
lovestruck and eggnog
!!!!!!!!!!!<3333 cw; fem!reader, reader is intoxicated, mentions of drinking, fluff, small allusions to sex/praise
in the midst of the party, you made your way back to aaron. he's been seated in the same spot for a while - exactly where you had been with him an hour ago - but still, his presence surprised you, your few glasses of spiked eggnog all to thank.
you promptly dropped yourself onto his lap, absolutely buzzing. your voice was on the sing-song side, your words slurring together the smallest amount. "hi handsome."
"hi honey," aaron chuckled quietly, amusingly wrapping an arm securely around your waist. his eyes scanned you, quick to notice your current state. "having fun?"
"a ton." you nodded giddily, "especially now, now that i'm with you." you reached past him, grabbing the santa hat perched atop derek's head - "hey!" - and sloppily onto aaron's, rather lopsidedly at that.
a giggle erupted from you, "look how cute you look!" you turned to derek, wrapping your arms loosely around aaron's neck. you squeezed him softly, causing your cheek to come flush with his. "isn't he so cute?"
derek snorted faintly, covering it up by bringing his drink to his lips. "he's a stunner, for sure."
aaron subtly glared at morgan, while you continued. "i love you, just so much." you placed a kiss on his cheek. and then another. and then another.
aaron laughed gently as his hands sprawled across the span of your back, holding you close - and steadily - to him. the more you littered kisses across his skin, the more his cheeks flushed, "what're you doing?"
"loving on you silly." you gave him an almost offended look, before your face returned to that soft, lovey-dovey expression. "because i love you. and i love being your wife." you took his face in your hands, planting a kiss onto his lips. "i love that i get to do this wheneverrr i want."
quick to reciprocate, but more reservedly in view of his colleagues, aaron gave you one more, small peck, "i love you too darling."
"you're perfect." your focus went back to derek, as emily and penelope joined the three of you as well. "he's perfect. wanna know what perfect things he does?"
"don't hold back on us," emily egged you on completely, at the playful expense of aaron - she shot him thoroughly entertained look.
"he gives me soo many back rubs, especially if i have a bad day. he leaves me sticky notes everywhere. on my coffee mug, on the bathroom mirror, on my pillow if he leaves early. i find a ton when you're all gone on a case, i don't even know how he does it." your nose scrunched a tad, befuddlement in your voice. "must be magic."
"and what do these notes say?" penelope asked eagerly, as if she's been waiting forever to hear details when it comes to a certain boss. (to be fair, she has.) (more often than not, you've spared them the specifics just as much as aaron.)
a wickedness came forth in your eyes, your lips pulling into a smirk. your hand found the back of aaron's neck, your fingers brushing through the nape of his hair. "he left me one yesterday that said he'd like to-"
"okay." aaron interrupted, kissing the spot of skin behind your ear and halting your words. "sweetheart, if you continue, i'll never hear the end of it."
you complied, but just for a second. "he's just so cute." you cheesed, pinching his cheek gently. despite the fact you were very much inebriated, you were well aware enough to not actually hurt him. "he's all i want for christmas." after your statement, your smirk quickly resurfaced, your current no-filter flowing freely. "i've been a good girl, haven't i, aaron?"
another snort exited a wide-eyed derek, and you missed the others' very taken aback reaction as your gaze shifted to aaron, whose blush was prominent as ever.
"what?" you pouted softly, confusion arising on your face.
a mix between a sigh and a breathless laugh left aaron through his nose, affectionately patting your hip and transferring the santa hat onto your head, "i think that's enough eggnog for you tonight."

Sweater Weather
Thank you @canteenee4 for this prompt!
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Summary: A famous popstar's Christmas Eve concert brings an unexpected love into your life.
Warnings: language, flirting, fluff, shitty exes - not much else!
WC: 4.1K
dividers by @/saradika-graphics
"Oh, thank god!" you exclaimed under your breath when you saw it. You didn't even care what size it was, Ellie was going to wear that damn sweater if it was the last thing she ever did. "Ellie! Over here!" you called out into the busy store as you hurried over to the table.
Of course the merchandise for the most popular singer in the world would be almost gone so close to the holidays, but compounded with the fact that tickets were going on sale in just a few hours for the only show she planned on having in Austin caused your chances for finding what Ellie wanted even slimmer. But when you spotted one singular sweater folded and all alone on a display table, the very same one Ellie had pointed out on the website where it was listed as sold out everywhere, you let yourself for just one moment imagine your parents were looking out for you somehow.
With a sigh of relief and the smallest flicker of Christmas spirit, you reached out to grab the sweater, but your smile slipped from your face when you were met with some unexpected resistance in the form of another person's fist curling around the fabric from the other side of the table.
"Hey!" you exclaimed, eyes darting up to glare at the person who dared try to steal your victory. But when you locked eyes with quite possibly the most handsome man you had ever seen, your throat went dry and your grip on the sweater loosened.
"Shit, uh," he stammered, realizing your predicament. You both still held onto the sweater, unsure what to do. You blinked and looked around the crowded store.
"Maybe we can ask a worker if there's any more?" you tried, knowing full well there was close to a zero percent chance of there being any more in the back. It was a miracle you had found the one you did. Your handsome stranger seemed to have the same thought.
"Doubt it. Me and my kid have been searchin' all over town for this... stuff," he replied, motioning towards the empty table with a stunning photograph of the pop star in the center. "What do you want for it? I promised her I'd get somethin' for Christmas."
"Well, I promised my little sister the same thing," you argued with one hand on your hip. "I'm gonna try to get tickets later for the show and she's insisting she needs something with this girl's face on it to wear-"
"Yeah, same here," he said with an exasperated huff. It seemed as though you were at an impasse: two guardians who wanted to give the perfect Christmas to their respective teens, no matter how silly or frivolous it seemed to the two of you.
"Sarah?"
"Ellie?"
You each turned your heads towards the familiar voices. Both girls all wrapped up in bulky winter coats and scarves looked at one another in delight as they approached the table, ignoring you both and the sweater still held firmly in your hands.
"What are you doing here?" the curly haired girl, apparently named Sarah, asked your younger sister.
"Christmas shopping, duh!" Ellie laughed while holding up an armful of bags. Her eyes flickered to yours, then to Sarah's father, and then the sweater. "Oh, no," she said softly. Then Sarah glanced down and mirrored the same look as Ellie.
"How do you know each other?" you asked Ellie, hoping to deflect and buy some time.
"We go to school together. Sarah's a year older but we're in the same science class," she explained.
"Is this the last one?" Sarah asked her dad. Your eyes met again, neither of you wanting to let down your girls but still not sure what to do.
"Yeah, babygirl, but this nice lady had it first," he said, finally letting go of the fabric. You swallowed thickly, surprised by the kindness he showed you. It wasn't even true. If anything, you had both grabbed it at the exact same time.
You watched Sarah try to hide her disappointment and finally a lightbulb went off when you came up with a great idea.
"Hey," you said before they could walk away. The man turned to you with the softest pair of brown eyes you'd ever seen and your heart skipped a beat. "What if we all went to the concert together? The girls can share the sweater or something-"
"Yes!" both teens exclaimed while jumping on the balls of their feet. A slow smile stretched across the man's face before shrugging and extending his hand.
"Guess that's the plan. Name's Joel," he said. You told him your name and slipped your hand into his, both of you jumping when the static charge shocked you. Each of you laughed softly when you pulled away and the girls exchanged mischievous looks behind your backs.
"Well, alright, first thing's first - let's buy this damn thing before another person tries to take it and then maybe we can get something to eat in the food court. It's just a few hours til the tickets go on sale, we can make sure to get the seats together," you said, protectively bunching up the sweater under your arm.
After one quick disagreement over who should pay for the sweater (Joel won and you promised to buy him a beer at the concert to repay him), you found yourselves in the food court finishing up Panda Express and Cinnabon while you listened to the girls talk excitedly about the concert and which songs they'd hoped to hear.
"Can we go to the arcade?" Ellie asked once she got rid of your trash. You pretended to be annoyed but couldn't stop yourself from grinning when you handed over some money.
"Sure, just bleed us dry," Joel joked when handing over some cash to Sarah. She kissed him on the cheek before tossing a thanks, dad! over her shoulder and disappeared with Ellie into the arcade shoved in the corner of the food court.
You pressed your lips together and looked around, suddenly feeling a little nervous now that you were alone. For the past hour you had tried your best not to get caught giving googly eyes to the man sitting across from you, but it was hard when he was so painfully attractive.
"So, uh," you said, clearing your throat and pulling out your phone. "How many seats are we looking to get together? Just the four or is Sarah's mom going to be joining us?"
You knew he would be able to see right through you so you kept your eyes locked on your phone screen. The tickets weren't even on sale yet but you still pretended to scroll the website while you waited for his answer.
"Nah, just us. Her mom ain't in the picture anymore," he replied. You bit the inside of your cheek to keep yourself from smiling when he shifted in his seat and asked, "Uh, what 'bout you guys? You wanna bring a boyfriend or somethin'?"
"No, no boyfriend," you told him quietly, eyes shyly flickering up to his once before chickening out and looking back down at your phone. Joel smirked and leaned forward on his elbows.
"I ain't got anyone, either. Case you were wonderin'."
You nodded and pursed your lips while your heart did cartwheels in your chest.
"Good. That's good. You know, it's easier to get four seats together."
"Yeah, 'course," Joel replied. He watched you closely, catching the way you tucked your hair behind your ear and bit your lip. You heard Ellie's familiar laugh somewhere within the depths of the arcade and you smiled.
"Sounds like they're having fun," you said before forcing yourself to look him in the eye. It was then you noticed the first hints of grey in his beard dusting the corners of his jaw. He probably wasn't much older than forty and damn, did he wear it well.
"You're a good sister for doin' all this," he told you warmly. You sighed and began to rip up an unused napkin left on the table.
"I try to make the holidays extra fun for her ever since our parents passed away."
Joel's face softened and his eyebrows knit together.
"Shit, I'm sorry," he all but whispered. You saw his fingers flinch like he wanted to reach out across the table for your hand, but he kept them linked together. "When'd it happen?"
"Ellie was eight so, six years ago," you told him. "Car accident. Luckily they had me when they were young so I was already twenty-two when it happened. I had no idea what to do for the longest time but somehow we made it work. She's been so incredible. She's tough and strong and smart..." you trailed off and gave Joel a little smile. "Sorry, I'm rambling."
"Nah, don't worry 'bout it. I can relate. I mean, sort of. Sarah's mom took off when she was only a year old," Joel began. Your fingers paused their destruction on the napkin to listen. "I had no idea what to do, either. I had just started my construction business and for months I thought I'd have to sell it, but we just focused on gettin' through one day at a time. I had help from my brother and our parents but goddamn, there were days I was afraid I would fall asleep sawin' two by fours," he said with a chuckle.
"Crazy the things we're capable of when we're put to the test," you told him quietly. He nodded solemnly, scanning your face for a moment and you could have sworn his eyes lingered on your lips. The tips of his ears went a little pink when he tore his eyes away and you hid a smile behind your hand.
"So... you sure you wanna spend Christmas Eve at a concert with a stranger and his kid?" he teased, dragging his gaze back to you. He grinned when you leaned back and laughed.
"Yeah, why not? You're not gonna murder me, are you?"
"Nah, if I was gonna do that, I woulda done it back at the store," he joked, making you laugh even louder.
You were about to say something snarky in response when an alert went off on your phone and you gasped.
"Shit! The tickets! We have, like, two minutes before they go on sale!"
Joel scooted his chair closer so he could peer over your shoulder while you feverishly refreshed the page on your phone. It was a miracle you were able to think straight and snag four tickets together in a pretty decent section when all you could smell was his heavenly cologne insanely close to you.
"Okay, we did it!" you exclaimed when you got the confirmation email, then smiled when you got a Venmo notification with Joel's picture as the icon for his half of the tickets.
"Cute picture. Looks like you had a little too much fun that night," you giggled when you zoomed in on his heavy lidded eyes and the drink in his hand.
"Alright, alright, that was taken a long time ago," Joel chuckled while covering your phone with his palm. You swore you saw his cheeks starting to tint and it just made him even more adorable.
"Hey, so, uh... what's your number? You know, so I can send you the tickets," you tried to say casually, but he arched an eyebrow and leaned in so one arm rested on the table and the other on the back of your chair.
"If you just wanted my number, darlin', you coulda asked. Don't gotta pretend it's 'bout the tickets," he said with a smirk.
Your jaw dropped and you felt your face grow warm, making him laugh and lean in a little closer.
"Oh, you wish," you shot back when you got your bearings.
"Yeah, I do, actually," he replied smoothly. His laughter died down but his smile remained. "No pressure or nothin'," he added when you didn't answer right away.
"Oh! Um, well, ye-"
Ellie and Sarah interrupted your terrible attempt at flirting when they came racing up to you from across the food court, seemingly unphased by how close you and Joel were sitting.
"Did you get the tickets?" Ellie asked breathlessly when they made it to your table. Ah, no wonder they didn't seem to care.
"'Course we did. We're makin' Christmas dreams come true over here while you two are off wastin' our money in those damn machines," Joel said while gesturing towards the arcade.
"We?" you repeated while holding up your phone. Joel glanced at you with a twinkle in his eye and shrugged. But the girls didn't hear you because they were jumping around excitedly and babbling to one another about the concert. While they were distracted, Joel pulled out a pen from his shirt pocket along with a business card and flipped it over to jot down something on the back.
"Here," he said, handing you the card and standing up. You looked down at it briefly, Joel Miller, Miller Construction with a business number and fax with a little black and white house next to it. You flipped it over and your heart skipped a beat when you saw he had scrawled his cell phone number on the back.
"For the tickets or... anythin' else," he told you with a wink that made your knees weak.
"Okay," was all you could muster as you watched him and Sarah walk away. It took Ellie poking you in the ribs for you to snap out of it.
"Ouch!"
"You got the hots for Sarah's dad," she teased in a sing-song voice.
"I do not!" you argued. Ellie stood and began to walk in the opposite direction, back towards the part of the mall where you parked your car.
"So you won't mind if I ask Sarah what her dad thinks of you?" she called back over her shoulder with a smirk. You gasped and jumped up to chase after her.
"Don't you dare!"
Then you took a moment to think it over before adding, "Just don't let him think I was asking."
Ellie threw her head back and laughed. "Oh, boy, you got it bad."
Christmas Eve
You weren't sure why you were so nervous, but you were. The entire ride to the stadium had you fidgeting anxiously in your seat, every mile closer making your heart beat faster and faster.
It would be the first time seeing him since the mall, but it certainly wasn't the last time you spoke.
After about three days of trying to stay strong, you caved and texted Joel.
Saw a Miller Construction truck on the highway today but sadly, it wasn't you
To your delight, it only took him a few minutes to reply.
You need some work done, darlin? Cuz I can stop over any time ;)
You giggled to yourself, happy you didn't even need to tell him who you were. You were partly relieved that he wasn't talking to several women at once, and partly pleased that you made a big enough impression to be memorable.
After that, you somehow found yourself texting him almost every single evening. Like clockwork, Ellie would take a shower and do her homework in her room with music pumping from her speakers while you snuck away to your bedroom to text Joel. It started out simple. Questions like, How was your day? Did you get caught in that nasty storm? Are you going to the science fair? And eventually it morphed into more personal questions.
Joel: how do you take your coffee in the morning?
You: excuse me?
Joel: what? don't drink coffee?
You: why do you want to know? what popped into your head that made you ask that question?
Joel: I think I struck a nerve. Let me try another one - how do you like your eggs?
You: OMG
One night you both happened to be watching the same movie. You found it kind of endearing you were two of the few people left who still watched cable television, and you told him so when he got sick of texting you back and forth about the movie and opted to call you, instead.
At first, your nerves spiked when you saw him calling your phone, but you quickly shrugged it off and answered before you changed your mind. And you were glad you did. Talking to Joel was easy. You could sit in a comfortable silence and watch the movie with your phone pressed against your ear without feeling the least bit uneasy. Most of the time, your conversations were casual, but typically towards the end of the night they got a little flirty.
"Anyone ever do that for you?" he asked through the phone.
"What? Ask me to marry them?" you replied as you watched the two main characters on the television jump around happily with a sparkling ring on the girl's finger.
"Yeah."
You shook your head. "Nope. Been a little busy the past few years, haven't had time for much of a love life," you admitted, then cleared your throat, praying you didn't sound too pathetic. "What about you?"
"Nope. Never."
"Not even Sarah's mom?"
Joel scoffed. "Thought 'bout it once or twice but glad I didn't. Would've made shit a whole lot worse, lemme tell you."
You hummed sadly, not wanting to pry too much but also intensely curious. But right as you were about to change the subject, he spoke again.
"I think she hated bein' a mom," he suddenly said. You went quiet, eyebrows raised in surprise at his cold tone. "Blamed me for everythin' towards the end. Said it was my fault we even had a kid in the first place. Who the hell checks expiration dates on condoms? It was in my goddamn wallet for Christ knows how long and in the heat of the moment she expects me to turn on the light and look at the date?"
You could hear his hand dragging roughly through his beard when he sighed.
"Sorry. Anyway. She took off. Tried to stay in contact with Sarah but the second she found another guy she lost interest. Is what it is, I suppose," he said tiredly. Then he clicked his tongue and you heard his sheets shuffle. "What 'bout you? When was your last boyfriend?"
"Sarah's mom was your last relationship?" you asked, mentally doing the math. Joel chuckled.
"Last serious one. Had a few dates with a few women here 'n there, nothin' lasted more than a month. Now don't change the topic, tell me 'bout you."
"Uh, well, last year I guess. I was dating a guy named Tim. We were together... nine months? Give or take?" Your nose scrunched up as you tried to remember, surprised at how much time had passed.
"And what happened to the honorable Tim?" he asked with a teasing lilt to his voice.
"What always happens," you said, "People grow apart. People get busy and don't have the time to give." You lowered your voice to a grumble when you said, "Some people have to grow up fast and take care of their sister and can't look after a grown ass man at the same time."
Joel whistled on the other end of the phone and you felt the corner of your mouth twitch.
"He was lookin' for a mama, not a partner," Joel stated plainly. You nodded.
"Yeah. That's a good way to put it."
"Well, his loss is my gain."
You laughed, completely ignoring the movie by that point.
"Did I miss the part where we're dating?"
"We ain't?" he asked. "We talk every damn day. Tell each other everythin'. We just haven't made it official yet."
"And what would make it official, exactly?" you pressed with your heart hammering in your chest.
"First date, of course," Joel said, "Christmas Eve. It'll be our first date and we'll make it official."
You laughed nervously, cheeks on fire from how forward he was being.
"Well... okay."
That was four nights ago. Now you had parked your car and you were following Ellie towards the stadium along with thousands of other fans buzzing with excitement in every direction, completely unaware your excitement was for an entirely different reason.
"C'mon, this way! They said they'd meet us by gate seven," Ellie said, grabbing your hand to make you move faster. She was clad in the sweater her and Sarah promised to share: Ellie got it the first act of the concert, Sarah the second act. A week ago they had stayed after school to decorate tshirts to wear anyway, and it had you wondering why they even cared about the sweater anymore when they had so much fun making the shirts together, but you decided not to point it out and just be grateful the stupid sweater brought you and Joel together.
You spotted him before Ellie even pointed them out. The stadium was decorated with Christmas trees and the television screens mounted in every direction flashed pictures of the famous popstar wearing a Santa hat or other holiday garb, but you still saw him through all the noise. He was one of the few men in a sea of women, to start. But he was tall and broad and exactly as you remembered him: loose, dark curls that sat perfectly on top of his head, a slight dusting of grey at the corner of his jaw, and gorgeous dark eyes that you could drown in. When he turned his head and spotted you, your heart rate spiked and you raised one shaky hand in their direction.
The girls were oblivious practically the entire night. They were on cloud nine, screaming this is the best Christmas ever! and dancing to every single song while you and Joel watched them have the time of their lives.
It was impossible to talk. It was too loud and everything you wanted to say was too important to be yelled into his ear around eighty thousand people. So you stood next to him, hips swaying to the music, lips mouthing the words to the songs you recognized from the radio, and smiling as the girls screamed when they heard the first chord of the next song.
When the music quieted down to a ballad, the stadium grew more still and people brought out their phones with the flashlights on. It was kind of beautiful, you thought, to see so many tiny little lights moving in sync around the crowded arena. It felt like you were a part of something bigger and you finally understood why Ellie and Sarah were so excited to see the concert live.
"Pretty damn good first date," Joel said in your ear now that it was quiet enough to hear him. You grinned and tilted your chin up to look at him.
"Better than mini golf."
"Better than a movie."
"Better than bowling."
"Now, hey, wait," Joel said, making you laugh. He smirked. "I happen to like bowling."
"We can go bowling on our second date, then," you told him when your hand nervously found his at your side. Your fingers laced together and he drew you half a step closer.
"Deal," he replied, eyes flicking down to your mouth briefly before leaning down and pressing his lips tenderly against yours. You shouldn't have been surprised, but you were. However, you recovered quickly and immediately retuned the kiss while looping your other arm around the back of his neck. You could feel him smile as his lips continued to massage yours, temporarily forgetting where you were until you heard -
"Ew!" Sarah giggled somewhere behind you.
"Gross! Come on!" Ellie added, but you knew her well enough to know she was smiling. When you broke away and turned around, you confirmed your suspicion was correct. Both girls were staring at you with huge smiles plastered across their faces.
"Sorry," you told them, grateful for the dim lighting so they couldn't see how embarrassed you were. Joel's arm snaked around your waist from behind and tugged you close.
"Well, I ain't," he said firmly. "You two enjoy the concert and mind your own business."
Both girls dissolved into a fit of giggles and began whispering amongst themselves when Joel spun you back around. He cupped your face and dragged his thumb across your cheek with a smile.
"So, it's official?" he asked you. You grinned and nodded.
"Yeah. It's official."

ᝰ.ᐟ i know how much it matters to you.
── .✦ nanami kento x reader
sfw, drabbles, gender neutral!reader, daddy-esque nanami, soft nanami, petnames
⤷ it’s the little things nanami does for you that makes your heart melt…
a/n: if you have a dad just scroll (joke).
masterlist
*
BUTTONS
“Thank you for having us, Mrs Nanami.”
You and Nanami make your way to the door, preparing to leave.
Nanami’s mother had invited you both to a Sunday roast, diligently cooking everything for all three of you. You thanked her highly for her efforts, so much so that she had to force you to sit down and eat.
“Oh! It’s no bother, dear!” She smiles at you warmly, walking you and Nanami to the door. “I love to have my favourite people over.”
Nanami takes your coat of its rack, holding it open for you. “Here.”
“Oh!” You put your arms through the sleeves, feeling your face heat up. Nanami adjusts the coat over your shoulders. “Thanks.”
He then proceeds to crouch down a little and button up your coat, bottom to top. When finished, he smooths out the collar of your coat, tidying up the unruly folds and creases.
Your heart jumps, almost embarrassed by his nurturing actions. “Kento…”
“Hm?”
Mrs Nanami coos. “I knew I raised a gentleman.”
-
HAIR
“How does that feel?”
“Hmmm…it feels good…”
You sit in the bath, legs splayed out as Nanami sits on a stool beside the bathtub, massaging the foamy shampoo into your scalp and effectively cleaning your hair.
He chuckles at the blissed out expression on your face.
“What’re you laughing at?” You ask drowsily, eyes half-lidded from his soothing movements.
“Nothing, nothing.”
Nanami’s eyes twinkle as he smiles down at you, irises of umber and gold illuminated by the setting sun curling in from the bathroom window.
“Alright, tilt your head back for me.”
You do so, and he picks up a plastic tub of a now empty food container, scoops up some water from the bath and pours it over your head, washing away all off the foam. He runs his hand over your head, making sure no shampoo gets onto your face or in your eyes.
“There. He says, admiring your now shining, sweet-scented hair. Your face is now splattered with droplets and your nose is red. Nanami kisses your cheek. “Good as new.”
-
ROADS
On a very rare weekday off, Nanami decides to take you to the Christmas market. Because it is a weekday, specifically Monday, it is quieter and far less busy than usual, near completely desolate. It makes going from stall to stall, sipping on freshly made, rich hot chocolate, admiring carefully handcrafted wooden sculptures, and observing pigmented paints all the more enjoyable.
“Ooo, Nanami!” You exclaim and point across the street. “That’s the new café I was telling you about! Remember, the one with the pastries and stuff?”
“Oh, right, I remember.” Nanami walks to the edge of the sidewalk, you following along and preparing to cross the street. “Let’s go and take a look.”
Nanami sticks his hand out for you to take while looking both ways on the street.
You stare at it, a little dumbfounded to be honest. You are an adult…you think you can manage crossing the street without any guidance.
He then turns his head your way, raising his eyebrows and glancing down at his outstretched, still empty hand.
“Let’s go, then.”
Sighing, smiling half-heartedly, you take his hand and he walks you across the street safely, both of you still holding hands as you make it to the café.
-
TELEPORTATION
Nanami exhales loudly as he sends he last email of the day, falling into the back of his seat and stretching. He’d been working from home all day, it was now dark outside.
What were you up to?
He leaves his office and walks around the office in search of you. First, the kitchen, and then the living room.
The living room is where he finds you, laying on your stomach with a blanket thrown over you, fast asleep.
Have you been here all day?
“Oh, sweetheart…”
Nanami steps over to you quietly, careful not to wake you up. He removes the blanket from you, pausing when you stir and then curls his arms beneath your knees and behind your back to lift you up.
He carries you upstairs and up to your shared bedroom. He lays you on the bed and puts the thick sheets over your body. You hum, and wiggle around in your sleep to get more comfortable.
His chest warms at your cuteness. Nanami kisses your forehead before getting ready for sleep himself.
*
When you wake up, you’re confused about how you ended up in bed and come to the conclusion that you obviously possess the powers of teleportation.
-
DINNERS
It was that time of year, you and Nanami’s annual Christmas dinner where you invited all of your close friends (just your friends, some things that happen during these type of gatherings should stay between friends only, not family).
After hours of laborious cooking and baking, the dining-room table is filled with succulent, freshly cooked foods, ready and yearning to be devoured.
You thank your friends to attending before you all dig in graciously.
While you’re eating, a considerable sized smear of sauce accumulates at the corner of your mouth unknowingly - until Nanami pauses his eating and points it out.
“You have something…” Nanami tells you, pointing to the corner of his own mouth as reference.
“Hm?” Your mouth is full and you missed what he said.
“You have-here.” Nanami licks his thumb and wipes the sauce away from your mouth, before picking up a napkin and rubbing away the rest of the excess. He squeezes the fat of your food-filled cheeks, cooing at how adorable you look.
“Oh. Thanks!”
You smile at each other. Then you notice it’s very quiet and look at the rest of the table.
All of your friends are staring at you and Nanami in what appears to be confusion.
Shoko speaks. “I…I don’t even have anything to say…”
*
a/n: this was just a little something not a fic ok…nothing serious. just wanted to share my yearning for nanami with everyone else <333

i still love you, i promise
18+. smut. mentions of domestic violence (eddie is NOT the perpetrator!!!) exhusband!eddie x fem reader. this is far more nice domesticity than smut
if i’m being honest i don’t like the ending to this buuuuut i wanted to put it out because it’s been a while!! i have some holiday themed stuff cooking that i want to post before christmas so let’s all pray i actually finish it! i also wanted to just disclaim that yes cheating is bad yadda yadda yadda but we make an exception for fiction and especially for dear reader and eddie okay!?
☾ 。°✩
the tv rumbles on in the background, eddie’s eyes darting to the clock to determine whether another episode would be wise or not.
fuck it.
it plays on anyway, illuminating his dark living room and his terrible posture. he’d spend another couple hours here before finally dragging himself off to bed somewhere between one and two.
he jumps out of his skin at the sound of hammering, a chorus of fists pummel the door, startling him from his slouch. whichever asshole had the audacity to bang on his door at this time would certainly live to regret it.
he swings open the door with such force, his fist already clenched, expecting to beat the ever-loving shit out of someone only to find three sleepy faces smiling up at him.
and you.
stood behind your grinning sons, completely dejected as you balance what looked to be the entirety of your belongings in your arm.
“what the f-“ managing to stop himself as the boys run around his legs to get inside.
his eyes fall bank to your face, the shining bright maroon bruise adorning your cheek only becoming apparent to him now.
“what happened?” eddie frets, caressing your cheek with a gentle hand, “what the fuck happened?” he didn’t really need you to tell him, that much was obvious.
you sigh, he hadn’t seen you this low in years, no witty quips or snarling insults. just a permanent scowl and dried tears on your cheeks.
“can you just..” moving your head from his grasp, “can you put them to bed for me? please?” desperation rippling through your tone.
“yeah.. yeah of course,” stepping out of the way to welcome you inside, “but you’re telling me what the fuck happened after.”
-
it’s at least forty five minutes before they settle, eddie growing more and more impatient with every stifled giggle and unnecessary request for the bathroom or water.
when he does eventually close the door and make his way back to the kitchen, you’re stood over the sink, opened beer bottle in hand as you stare out of the window onto the street.
“what happened?” he asks gently, hoping not to startle you though you jump anyway.
eddie grabs a bag of opened peas from his freezer, storming over to press the cold bag to your now, very violet cheekbone.
you sigh again, much different to the usual exhausted mutters you gave him, “it doesn’t matter- thank you for doing that.”
“too fucking right it does- did he hit you? did he touch the boys?” his grip on the bag tightening as his knuckles glow white.
“no, he didn’t touch the boys,” placing your hand on top of his, taking the bag of vegetables from him, “just me.”
eddie can’t help himself, the rage bubbling over once again, “i’ll kill him- i’ll go over there right now and kill that fucker,” searching for the key to his van, anticipating a night in jail for whatever was about to happen.
your frown only grows deeper, “don’t be fucking stupid,” a disapproving frown etched on your face, watching him flap about the kitchen only to pause, blinking at you.
“he hit you,” annunciating the words just in case you didn’t already know.
you hum in acknowledgment, taking another swig of beer, “you got any cigarettes?”
eddie pauses again, completely astonished that you could be so calm about this. but, he’s nothing if not your willing servant, getting the box out of his pocket to hold out to you.
“can you be serious about this? please?” withholding the box just before your grasp.
“what do you want me to say eddie? he punched me in the face! it’s done, it’s over. i just wanna have a cigarette and drink my fucking beer, okay?” the dejected look on your face makes his heart sore, he hadn’t wanted to upset you, just get you to agree to him going over there and beating his ass.
he nods, pointing at the balcony doors, “alright.. alright,” giving up entirely, “go ahead.”
eddie slips out into the cool night with you, dropping the cig in your open palm, lighting his own in a bid to calm down.
“thank you, by the way,” exhaling softly, “it means a lot, it’s just-,” you sigh, looking off into the distance, “it’s a lot for me to deal with right now, you don’t need to worry about me.”
that was all you needed to say, a hint of guilt hitting his chest. eddie hadn’t meant to be so abrupt, so pissed off, it had just washed over him in a scornful fury.
“i’m always gonna worry ‘bout you.”
your lips crack into a smile for the first time this evening, relieving a little regret from his heart.
“now smoke your cigarette and drink your fucking beer,” parroting your earlier outburst, with love of course. far too much love really, so much so he didn’t know what to do with it all.
-
the first time actually sleeping next you again had never meant to be on his pitiful pull out couch, it felt almost unnatural.
eddie slept here a lot, especially when he had the boys, but he can’t help but feel you deserve better.
not that either of you are sleeping, you’re tossing and turning too much for him to drift off to sleep.
you sigh for the four hundredth time, turning onto your back with a disgruntled huff.
“can’t sleep?” he asks, knowing the answer already.
you startle, expecting him to have been asleep, “no, not really.”
“yeah i can tell,” deciding to spring some humour back into such a glum night, “you haven’t stayed still all night,” rolling onto his back to join you in staring at the dark ceiling.
“i’m not a good wife-“ completely out of left field, forcing his brows to knit together in confusion.
“that’s not true,” eddie interjects, pulling your body into his chest, really just trying to stop this self loathing shit you had going on.
you chuckle, wrapping an arm over his waist, “i’ve cheated on him like a thousand times eddie, i know i’m not.”
“only with me right?” he asks curiously, unprepared for any answer other than yes.
“yeah, only you.”
“then i don’t think that counts,” entirely too confident, “i’m your ex husband, he should know that you’d never be completely over me.”
he can feel your chest rise and fall nestled into his side, a deep sigh escaping your lips before slinging your leg over his waist to scoot on top, his hands don’t hesitate to slide downward to rest on your doughy hips.
“hey, at least you might be invited to the next wedding,” your arms snake around his neck, running your fingers through the hair on the nape of his neck.
this sort of intimacy was what eddie missed most, just being able to touch you whenever he liked. starting out completely innocent just to naturally slip into something more. christ, he’d pay millions to have it back.
especially when you looked like this, your ragged oversized shirt and a pair of shorts from before bill clinton’s administration. perfect.
“uhh no, i won’t be going unless it’s me you’re marrying,” sliding his hands from your hips to your ass, resisting the urge to growl as he does so.
you laugh, breath brushing against his cheeks, “is that right?”
you’re so close, you may as well just meld into one body, a mess of limbs and parts. keeping your face, for obvious reasons.
“yeah, so don’t forget it,” grabbing a handful of your luscious ass, savouring the way you felt in his grasp.
your eyes roll back on their own, shifting only slightly to discover his dick stiffening, the rising tent in his scruffy old boxers.
“are you hard already?”
eddie chooses to ignore your sneering tone, his voice thick with exhaustion, “what do you think?”
“of course you are,” sucking the backs of your teeth, “what’re you? 15?” but your thighs spread, moving into a more comfortable position for what was obviously about to happen.
“you’re a weirdo,” he laughs, mindlessly grinding upwards, planting his feet firmly on the shitty mattress to help keep you upright.
“mmhmm,” humming to yourself as you lean forwards, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose, “and you love it.”
eddie sighs, moving your hips backwards with his hands, “you’re gonna have to get off of me if you’re not gonna do anything,” the feel of your warmth against his growing erection only making it worse, growling with need.
your hands trail down his chest, stopping at his pudgy tummy, a feat he’s sworn to get rid of for years now. “what makes you think i’m not gonna do anything?” tucking two fingers inside the waistband of his strained boxers, teasing them down like he won’t cum right then and there.
he hums, his breathing becoming laboured, “i- fuck, i dunno,” losing all coherent train of thought when you tug his boxers down below his heavy balls, dick springing up against his stomach.
your tongue peeks out, wetting your lips, “thank you,” coming out of nowhere, “for letting us- or- me stay here,” hands lingering on his ribs.
“of course,” a no-brainer, really. you were and always have been the love of his life, he’d do anything for you anytime, “you don’t ever have to thank me for shit,” giving your ass a generous squeeze for good measure.
“yeah i know,” exhaling as you shuffle upward, lousy shorts pulled to the side as you fist his dick, positioning his tip at your sopping entrance, “but i’m gonna.”
and with that, he slides inside, welcomed into your warmth with a soft moan, your hands finding his sighing shoulders to rest on as you move slowly.
it’s all painfully slow, knowing you weren’t alone and ran the risk of being interrupted at any point meant a milder version of events than what this room usually saw.
he plants both hands on your cheeks, bringing your face in close, “you can get married a thousand more times and it’d still always be you,” breathlessly, pressing his sticky forehead against yours.
“st-stop it,” a shuddered breath, his gooey sentiments making your cheeks flush.
“i mean it,” eddie’s sure he can feel your eyelashes flutter against his own, “no one’ll ever come close,” stilling his hips, your tepid smile and laboured breathing was enough to make him cum right now.
“eddie,” you coo, coming to a halt to send a warning glare in his direction, “i’m still married,” as if soppy words meant more than the continued torrid affair you’d been having.
“i’m literally inside of you,” he chuckles, finding your waist to caress instead, “you know this already.”
“mhm you are,” shifting on your knees, obviously hoping to distract him from his confession, “so shut up and fuck me,” whispering harshly, your finger lingers over his lips.
he nods, losing the battle anyway. his hips thrust upward, meeting yours in a rushed manner, you gasp softly only tightening your grasp on his skin.
the couch creaks, the springs begging for solace as you begin to move with him, containing your pretty little mewls within. eddie already knows he’s going to cum quick, he hadn’t seen you in weeks and even his hand had started to bore him.
“oh shit,” he groans, running a hand underneath your shirt and up your flexed back, “i’m not gonna last,” gazing into your half-moon eyes, not put off by your growing smile.
“no?” bouncing your hips faster, deliberately clenching your pussy around his cock, spurring him on for a disappointing showing, “you can’t wait f’me?” goading him, wanting him to cum just so you can hold it over his head.
eddie pants in time with your frantic hips, allowing you to take control completely. he loves it like this, when you just use him to get off. barely able to keep watching you through hooded eyes, the sight of your wild waist sending him into overdrive.
“nuhuh,” he strains, wetting his lips as he tries his utmost to keep going, “i can’t.. you feel so good,” through gritted teeth, his heels dig into the couch as a means to ground himself, prolong his climax for as long as possible.
“c’mon eds,” pressing your damp forehead to his, “‘m nearly there,” positioning yourself so he nestles into your sweet spot, a clammy hand palms at the back of his neck as you desperately rut your hips.
concentrated gasps fall out of his parted lips, reminding himself to keep breathing concurrently with every jerk and swing of your body.
sticky skin meshes into one, he doesn’t know where you end and he begins, just a heaving pile of limbs on his couch.
he’s trying to think of something, anything else to stop him busting his nut, but you’re whimpering, making these soft sounds and your eyes are rolling and it’s all too much.
he’s thrusting upward without much thought, spilling over in a whirlwind of his nerves exploding and guttural grunts. filling you up, completely unapologetic in the moment, he knows he’ll make it up to you somehow.
eddie can’t even comprehend your annoyed plight, his ears ringing and his vision fuzzy while you settle on his thighs. he can just about make out your frustrated pout, scowling at him as he floats slowly back to earth.
“you’re so mean,” cupping his chin to force his eyes to meet yours, “i can’t believe you.”
his eyelids flutter, sinking into the pillows with you still perched atop his thighs, “sorry sweetheart.. not my fault you feel so good,” sighing as the sleep takes over his eyes, lazily running his fingers over your supple thighs.
you groan, sliding off of his lap to your spot next to him, pulling the blanket up and over you both. at least maybe now you’d get some sleep, though eddie’s not certain he will. thoughts of beating the life out of david crowd his mind, clearly not as empathetic or understanding as you were.
he snakes an arm around your waist, watching your face as your features settle, embracing the tired aching of your bones.
-
an ear-piercing, blood-curdling screech serves as your alarm, closely followed by three lots of footsteps banging down the wooden stairs in his apartment.
eddie can’t have had more than three hours of sleep. holding onto your twitching body, preoccupied with guilt and anger over your bruised cheek instead. if he had been a better husband, this wouldn’t have ever happened.
but now, he’s forced awake by your children, groaning into the pillow as their limbs flail and scramble onto the couch, screaming about breakfast and cartoons.
“alright alright!” he huffs, still gruff from his lack of sleep, “get the hell off me,” shielding your head with his arms while they settle into place.
“do we have have to go to school?” oscar perks up, an opportunist like his father.
“uhh yeah,” you emerge from the blanket cocoon to scold your idiotic children, “what makes you think you’d be skipping today?”
“because we’re at dads house, we only come here on the weekend,” so innocent, though you can both see right through it.
“it’s tuesday,” you chuckle, “you’re going to school,” tipping them from your legs to stand up.
there’s an unexpected sadness that settles in his chest, a knowing that he’d missed out on this for too long because he fucked up in the first place.
eddie climbs out of the makeshift bed anyway, masking his lingering sadness with a cough, determined to make his incompetence up to you somehow.
“i’ll get them ready,” he assures, leaning ever so nonchalantly against the counter, “go, take my bed, you need it more than i do,” it’d quite simply take all of his might not to crawl up the stairs and join you, leaving you alone in his bed was just torture.
you nod, muttering a quiet thanks before shuffling off, running your fingers over benji’s mop of hair for good measure as you go. he was the only one that had inherited eddie’s curls, though unlike his dad’s, his sat nearly atop his head and not hastily thrown into a bun like his.
“alright freaks, what’s for breakfast?”
-
toast and ice cream apparently.
a long battle of no’s and absolutely not’s ended with eddie conceding to his feral children, on the condition that they had toast as well as their ice cream.
it worked, for the most part, until it came time to leave and oscar couldn’t find his pencil case and benji’s shoes needed to be tied.
but they’d made it to the gates only a few minutes late, bundling them out of his car and far far away for eight hours.
he still needed to call the shop and let them know he wouldn’t be in, not for a couple days at least. you were his priority now, not that you hadn’t ever been, they all knew he’d drop work if you asked.
eddie leaps up to his apartment, desperate to get back to you. he wasn’t expecting to find you in the kitchen, washing the dishes from his chaotic excuse for breakfast.
“did they have ice cream for breakfast?” you ask the second he enters the room. your tone gives nothing away, forcing him to answer cautiously in case yes was the wrong answer.
“it’s the only thing they’d eat,” he holds his hands up in admission of his guilt, “they had toast too though,” sidling up besides the sink, studying your eyes to grasp whether you were pissed.
“alright,” nodding as you drain the sink, wiping your hands with the dish towel, “they had a shitty night, ice cream is fine,” shrugging as you turn to him.
is this a ruse? were you about to release your real frustration? eddie’s not sure and he’s not about to find out.
“how ‘bout some food? we could go out?” changing the subject entirely, a safe, but wise move.
you blink, glancing at the clock, “you don’t have work?”
he shakes his head no, “called in, told them you needed me here so.. you’re stuck with me,” sliding closer along the countertop, a bashful grin overcoming his features.
he’s not sure how long this’ll last but he’s going to soak up every last minute of you being here, letting him dote on you instead of refusing, a semblance of the old life he so dearly missed.
“i want a burger,” stating plainly, knowing he’d get you anything you asked for.
“i can do that,” he eyes your disheveled shirt and no pants, “you wanna get changed first or are we just going like this?”
you snarl before scurrying off to get ready. eddie finds it difficult to not let his heart swell, he’d never fallen out of love with you exactly, but he’s certain he’s falling in love with you all over again.
-
eddie’s not complaining at all, but he’d forgotten just how long you took to get ready sometimes.
an hour later and you reappear, the maroon marking still adorning your face, though you look a little less tired and a little more like you.
deciding on a benny’s special over shitty fast food which he didn’t mind. eddie used to work at benny’s right around the time you got pregnant with oscar, it was a short lived job though, he wasn’t exactly cut out for customer service even in your local dinner.
benny was kind enough to let him go with his whole pay check, he’d always had a soft spot for him.
“are you getting out or..” his hand pauses on the door handle, staring at your frozen body.
“uh no? not with this,” gesturing to the bright purple bruise decorating your face.
eddie’s brows furrow, you weren’t one to care about what people thought of you, especially not something shallow like a bruise.
“why? d’you think anyone’s gonna care?” completely dumbfounded by your hesitance.
you scoff, “no eds, i don’t want anyone to think that you did it.”
oh.
“oh.. shit, yeah,” it was so unfathomable to him to ever think about hitting you that the the thought had just never crossed his mind, he would never, not even if his life depended on it.
“yeah,” you repeat, laughing at his ignorance, “i’m doing this for you,” staying put in your seat, a self-righteous nod as he clambers out, having already memorised your order on the journey over.
he can’t stop thinking about it.
that anyone could ever assume he’d do that to you.
he lost his temper sometimes but not like that, never at you. it makes him nauseous to even imagine, babbling through his order while all his brain can fathom is you.
eddie’s more sure than ever that he had to do whatever it took to keep you next to him forever. you liked to joke a lot about your divorce, how it was the best two thousand bucks you’ve ever spent, but eddie’s not sure it’s at all true.
he slides back into the car, holding the food in his lap while he, rather shoddily, thinks this through.
“what? what’s wrong?” oblivious to the inner workings of his head, the buzzing feeling of electricity coursing through his veins.
the car is silent, though he’s certain you can hear his brain ticking along before he takes a hold of your hand.
“i’ve been thinking,” your arm going limp with his touch, befuddled by his sudden change in demeanour.
“oh no,” laughing quietly, letting him continue whatever this was, “that’s never a good thing.”
he slides his ring from his finger, still unable to part with the commitment he’d made, and slides it onto your, notably empty, fourth finger, “i want you to have this, and i want you to keep it until you’re ready- whether that’s a couple of months or twenty years,” twisting the metal around and around, “i’ll be there.”
“eddie,” too gentle for scolding, perhaps it was purely pitiful instead. but your eyes soften when they catch his forlorn gaze, squeezing his fingers for good measure.
a sign that maybe not all hope was lost.

cw: spiked/drugged drinks (if it makes it better they were only trying to drug bigots? (I know it doesn't really make it better))
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 852 words
Someone has found James’ eggnog. Well, really it’s all of their eggnog, but it was James’ idea to spike a bottle of the stuff with befuddlement draught, tie it up in a ribbon, and leave it in the Slytherin dorms for Snape and his lot to find on Christmas morning. The marauders had hidden the bottle in the Gryffindor common room until then—they couldn’t very well be found to be keeping prank materials in their dorm again—quite well, Sirius had thought. Still, he perhaps should have known better than to think that a room full of merry, intoxicated students wouldn’t unearth it.
James is trying to wrangle the students who’ve drunk it, Remus has gone to whip up an antidote, and Sirius, by a combination of luck and willful argumentation, gets to watch over you.
“Do I have wings?” you ask. You’re sitting on Sirius’ lap, his hands planted on either side of your hips to keep you there.
He raises his eyebrows. “Have you had wings before?”
“No,” you say, perplexed. You lift and lower your elbows experimentally. “I think I do now, though.”
“You don’t, lovely girl.”
You watch your arms a moment longer, and then the look you give Sirius is near pitying. “I think only I can see them,” you tell him sympathetically, “but I’ll show you. I can fly down from the top of the stairs.”
You start to get up from his lap, frowning when Sirius plonks you right back down.
“Sirius,” you say, suddenly stern, “I can prove it. I’m telling you, it’s probably a side effect of that thing Remus said I took.”
“I have no doubt this is an effect of what Remus said you took,” he agrees, running his thumb over your hip through the material of your jumper. “And our Remus is a very smart boy. Considering that he told you to stay put right here, I think we ought to listen to him, don’t you?”
You’re growing sullen. “You don’t believe me.”
“My darling,” says Sirius, “you would make a very beautiful bird, but I like you even better without wings.”
Your lips purse into a concerned pout. “Then what are you going to think of me now that I have them?”
Sirius isn’t entirely sure what to say to that.
Luckily, he sees James and Remus moving about the room in his peripheral vision. Sirius waves Remus over, spotting the vial he holds in his hand.
“What, only one left? Did you really leave our girl until last?”
“We had second years trying to sled down the staircases.” Remus comes to sit beside the both of you. “We had to prioritize. Sorry, dovey.” He kisses you on the cheek. Your mood seems to lift slightly. “You seem to be fairly placid over here by comparison.”
“Hardly. She keeps wanting to jump from high places.”
“Well, yes, that’s what befuddlement draught does,” Remus says drily, unstoppering the vial of antidote. “It makes people reckless. Things you ought to know if you plan to distribute it, I reckon.”
Sirius ignores the jab, taking the vial from Remus and lifting it to his nose. “Oh, fuck.” He recoils. “Merlin, Rem, you couldn’t dilute it with something nicer? That’s got to taste like ass.”
“You’d know,” you chirp. “You eat plenty of it.”
Remus snorts, and Sirius makes an appalled scoffing noise. “Reckless indeed!” He pinches your chin, not enough to hurt. “Alright, my loveliest nuisance, bottoms up.”
Despite Sirius’ warnings you drink it without hesitation (perhaps the recklessness at play), gagging only once the vial is empty. James comes up behind you then, rubbing between your shoulders while you cough.
“I’m sorry, lovie,” he says ruefully. “This should never have happened. We’ll have to start hiding our impending pranks more safely.”
“Or,” Remus suggests, “you could stop trying to drug other students and then being surprised when it backfires.”
Sirius pats your boyfriend’s thigh. “Be realistic, love.”
“Ugh.” You smack your tongue against the roof of your mouth. “I feel…weird.”
“It’ll probably take a few minutes for the effects to wear off fully,” Remus tells you, his expression going soft as he focuses on you. “Do you feel alright, sweetheart? Sick?”
You shake your head, though you’re still grimacing, rolling your tongue around in your mouth as though it doesn’t fit. “No, I’m okay. Not sick.”
“Are you upset?” James frets.
Remus shoots him an exasperated look, but you only tilt your head at him consideringly. “I don’t think so,” you say. “Ask me tomorrow.”
James looks a bit unsettled, but Remus rubs your leg, smiling slightly. “Smart girl,” he murmurs.
“Can I let you go now?” Sirius squeezes your hips teasingly. “Or do you still think that you have wings?”
James’ eyebrows lift. “That she what?”
“I’m not going to try to fly anymore,” you say placidly, laying your head down on Sirius’ shoulder, “but you don’t have to let me go either, if you don’t want to.”
“I can tell the effects are wearing off already.” Sirius stamps a happy kiss to the side of your head. “That’s my girl.”
