Polaroids after sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: none, just fluff
Pronouns using: none
A/n: this is a short one but I hope you enjoy it :) 💓
Its an understatement of how much Steve loves taking pictures of you after having sex. And not in a pervy pornography kinda way, but in a sweet lovable kinda way.
Steve has such a big heart he loves to love because that is something he didn't receive. He loves to give even if he doesn't get something back in return. He is such a lover boy, your lover boy.
After having sex he whispers sweet things like
"I can never get enough of you," he lays on top of you as he caresses your cheek and kisses your forhead. At that moment youre entangled with each other and Steve is mesmerized by you, he's always been. But in these moments you seem much more beautiful, because of how vulnourable you are to him its so intimate.
You smile as you look up to him and feel him swipe your hair from your forhead that was stuck from your sweat. "You are such a beauty" he says as he peppers every inch of your face with kisses and you squirm under him. He hears you laugh and tell him to ‘stop’ knowing that you loved every second of it. He stops and reaches for something near the bedside table. You know what it is and grumble. “Come on honey you know I can’t resist..” he has a Polaroid camera in his hand and see you’re already tucked under the bedsheets covering half your face.
He chuckles and takes a pictures anyways. As he put the Polaroid camera back in place and waits for the Polaroid to develop in his hand you ask “Do you really gotta do that every time?” He leans down again and smiles at you then kisses you slowly, “Ofcourse sweets, these are for my eyes only and I never wanna forget how you look like afterwards.” He says with a soft smirk and you playfully roll your eyes.

~ wish I would’ve~
Pairings: Eddie Munson x Henderson!reader, mentions of past relationship with Steve Harrington x Henderson!reader ( she/her) pronouns.
• no use of y/n
CLIFFHANGER!!!
Flash backs written like this lol💕
Part 1
——————
YOU’RE SO CAUGHT UP IN THIS SOCIAL STATUS BULLSHIT YOU NEVER HAVE TIME FOR ME!
You screamed at Steve as he sat looking completely emotionless, all that mattered to him was keeping up his title of “ king Steve”.
What the actual fuck are you talking about, all I ever do is spend time with you if you ask me we might even spend TO MUCH TIME around each other. Steve replied.
Your jaw almost hit the ground then you began to speak. “ TO MUCH TIME??? THATS WHAT YOU THINK? DONT START WITH ME HARRINGTON; WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER IM NOTHING MORE THAN AN ARM REST, A PROP BESIDE YOU WHILE YOU SIT SHIT TALKING WITH TOMMY.”
THAT ISN’T TRUE, IM TRYING MY BEST. Steve said in his defense.
“ WELL TRY FUCKING HARDER” it might come off a bit harsh but you’ve had enough, when you and Steve first got together it was amazing, you were both so very in love but lately it’s all been feeling one sided. Steve’s taking this king Steve stuff way to serious, he barley even talks to you.
“ NANCY WOULD NEVER HAVE SAID SOMETHING LIKE THAT” Steve screamed, instant regret followed. The silence in the air said more than words ever could. Steve stumbled through his vocabulary trying to figure out how he could fix this. “ baby you know I didn’t-” he started but you quickly cut him off with a simple “we’re done”.
——
It took a few months for you to pull yourself together but you finally came around with the help of Eddie Munson. You had met him through your little brother Dustin, he dropped him off from a hellfire meeting one night and his car broke down right as he pulled up to your house, thankfully they made it there safely but Eddie ended up having to stay the night and the car got fixed in the morning; you spent that night talking to Eddie and you both grew closer by the day and eventually began to become a little more than friends.
Steve knew what he said was wrong, he knew it was all a mistake. Even though you left months ago he still can’t get you off his mind. He’s let go of the whole “ king steve” childish nonsense. You were much more important to him than that but it’s a little to late now.
———
Eddie reached for your hand as you both walked into school. “You look gorgeous today as always m’lady” he said in his cute little accent he does that you love. “ and you as well my prince” you both giggled and pecked at each others lips. Little did you know Steve was watching from afar his heart breaking at the sight of you with another guy. He knew you deserved to be treated well, he didn’t blame you for leaving, he knew he was an asshole but now he’s changed. His heart felt heavy and his eyes fluttered fighting tears. All he could do was walk the other way.
———
Later that day he began his shift at family video which means he also began his ranting about you to Robin. “ I just wish I would’ve listened or said more or done better” Steve spoke. “ ughh” robin said rolling her eyes “ you know Steve this is getting old. You messed up dude, we all do but you’ve seriously got to move on.” “ don’t you think I would if I could? I can’t Robin, I love her.” Steve replied. Before Robin could get any words out the door opened “ welcome to family videos!” Robin said, she picked up her head to greet whoever had came in but that’s when she was met with Eddie. Robin knew you and Eddie had been seeing each other, Steve had mentioned it one, two or a thousand times. All she could give was a soft smile to him. Steve panicked. He didn’t know if you were behind Eddie or if Eddie came to start a fight, every possibility was running through his head except for the fact that he could just be coming to get a movie. So Steve hid behind a cardboard cut out and made a complete fool of himself.
———
Eddie knew you and Steve had dated but he didn’t know to much, he though things ended peacefully and you two didn’t really have that much history but boy was he mistaken.
“ uhhh why did Harrington just run behind a cardboard cut out?” Were Eddie’s first words. Steve swiftly came out from behind the cut out trying to play it off “ not hiding, just cleaning” he was beyond confused right now. Robin just shrugged with embarrassment. “ anyways” Eddie began, “do you guys have sixteen candles?” Steve’s heart was shattered all over again. He knew that was your favorite movie which was probably why Eddie was asking for it right now. “ uhh yeah, I actually have a copy right here, here you go” Robin pulled a copy out from behind the counter that had just been returned earlier that day. “ Thanks” Eddie replied. There had been intense awkwardness in the room the entire time and Eddie honestly didn’t have a clue as to why. He awkwardly waved the movie a little then turned to walk out the door. As soon as he did “ THATS HER FAVORITE MOVIE ROBIN” Steve said “ JESUS CHRIST HARRINGTON ENOUGH!” Robin replied throwing her hands up in defeat. “ they’re probably watching it tonight doing God knows what, I can’t take it any more. That should be me on her bed watching it with her, me holding her not that freak!” Suddenly a cough came from the door. It was Eddie “ I forgot to pay and no one mentioned it but keep your fucking movie.” Eddie tossed the movie and walked out the door.

Dark Mojito
Steve Harrington x Henderson!reader Female pronouns used, reader gets called 'girl' no use of y/n.
Summary: Steve rescues you from an uncomfortable situation.
Disclaimer: This is my first time writing for Tumblr and my first time writing a short fic like this. This fic was deleted three times😭 so it’s taken me ages rewriting it each time, but I’m publishing this now without proofreading all of it properly. I apologise for any mistakes in it, tomorrow morning I’ll reread it and edit it but I just want it out now.
Also I’ll be writing part two to this for the well needed comfort between Steve x reader if people want it.
Anyway I’m really nervous about publishing this so please be nice :)
TW: reader is in an uncomfortable situation with a man, no sexual violence is described but the threat is implied. Please take care with reading.
It wasn't your fault really, anyone else would have made the same mistake as you did it was a pretty easy mistake to make. Actually no it wasn't your mistake you were mislead, that's how you ended up here. Hiding out in Kyle McCay's bathroom trying to fight off a panic attack and not cry.
When Angie had invited you to Kyle's, her boyfriend, for a party you'd agreed. You liked going to parties with your friends and you were trying to make the most of your final year in high school and if that meant going to a party without one of your closest friends as comfort then so be it. You always went to parties with some, every party you'd been to you went with Steve other than the 'pink ladies' party you went to because that was girls only and even then you still had Nancy and Carly (your childhood friend). Hell one time you even went to a party with Eddie Munson, given Carly was already there; Eddie had been dropping off Dustin from one of their DnD sessions that had overran and he happened to mention that he was also heading to the same party you were but his was 'for business not pleasure'. So he drove you and made sure you had a lift home. But this party with Angie, you hadn't mentioned it to anyone other than Steve because Nancy was busy with Jonathan (they always were every Friday night), and Carly had gone out of town to visit her family in California.
You'd swung by the mall after you'd finished school to speak to Steve and ask him to go with you.
"So, there's a party tonight I'm thinking of going to, wanna join?" you said as you leaned on the counter Steve was currently wiping dow.
Steve sighed, "unfortunately no can do, I'm closing up tonight and you know I'd skip out of here in a heartbeat for you but I've got to keep this stupid job."
"It's not stupid Steve, you serve ice cream that's pretty cool in my book."
He laughed, "I suppose, but the uniforms are stupid- I feel like I've been striped of my dignity and shoved in a sailors outfit-"
You laughed along with him, "I'd argue you have more dignity now then you did before the tight striped shorts." You smiled up at him as he smiled down at you.
Steve resumed cleaning down the counter as he spoke, "who's party is it anyway?"
You took a scoop out of your ice cream, "Kyle McCay's- well his girlfriend invited me Angie but it's at his house"
"She the one we bumped into last week at the arcade?"
"Yep, they've been going out for nearly two years. I haven't properly spoke to Kyle but Angie's my friend so I can hang with her and then when it gets boring I'll just leave."
Steve put the cloth away, giving you his full attention. "You still wanna go, even though you'll be on your own?"
You sighed, you hadn't really contemplated what you'd do if Steve couldn't go with you but you still wanted to go and you could just show your face for an hour and then leave.
"Yeah I think so, I wanna try and enjoy my senior year as much as possible and I've only just became friends with Angie even though we've shared classes for two years. Plus I'd feel bad if I didn't turn up, it was really nice of her to ask me."
Steve sighed, he loved how considerate you were to other people but he didn't like how it became a problem when you put others before yourself.
"Don't worry about Angie or anyone else, do you want to go?"
"Yeah I do, I think I need to go for myself you know put myself out there- most people only see me when I'm with you or Carly I'm always with someone, I'm never just my own person and I want to be my own person instead of being seen as someone else's person. Do you understand what I mean?"
"I do yeah, but I don't think it's a bad thing you're always with a friend it just shows that you have good people in your life. But I get what you're saying and if you want to go to this party I say you go. I'll be finished before nine so I can give you some time to mingle on your own and then I can either join you in there or if you've had enough we can grab some food and go home. How does that sound?" Steve smiled at you, it was that smile that was so adorably beautiful you had to take a moment to appreciate it.
"Sounds perfect."
And it did sound perfect at the time, but that was under false pretences.
———————————————————————————-
You'd arrived at Kyle's at 8pm after your mum had dropped you off on her way to pick Dustin up from Eddie's.
It was dark out and winter was fast approaching, pulling your denim jacket around yourself tighter as you made your way to the front door. Listening you couldn't hear any music and there were no cars lined down the street like usual. Weird.
The door swung open and there was Kyle smiling at you. You'd met Kyle once before when you were at the arcade with Steve and Kyle was with Angie. He seemed nice and Steve liked him.
"Come on in princess, Angie's in the kitchen getting you a drink" you stepped in and he closed the door behind you "follow me" he led you down the hallway and into a room on the right. You noticed instantly that there was no music and there were no people. How early were you?
Walking into the kitchen you saw Angie standing at the kitchen counter mixing drinks.
"Ah here she is, you look gorgeous I love that dress you'll have to let me borrow it sometime," she made her way around the island and brought you in for a hug.
Hugging her back you said, "thanks Ange, so do you." you broke apart from the hug and smiled at Angie, "so what time does the party start?"
Angie made her way back around the kitchen island and resumed mixing drinks, "now silly" she laughed.
You let out an awkward laugh as you gestured around, "well where is everyone?"
Angie kept her attention down on the drinks she was mixing, "oh I'll explain when we go to the living room but first and most importantly your drink m'lady." She slid a drink over to you in a tall glass, it looked like coke with ice but it had something green in it?
You grimaced, "What is is?"
Angie let out an excited sequel, "okay so it's got vodka, white rum, sugar syrup, lime juice freshly squeezed- no I'm lying, it's from a bottle but the taste is the same, I promise- and coke. It's basically a mojito with coke instead of lemonade and vodka as well as rum. I'm calling it the 'dark mojito', it was either that or the 'Angebomb' but I feel like I'll save the 'Angebomb' for a shot."
"It's a good name, make sense with the dark cause you used coke. I Iike it." That was all you could cling onto, the drink didn't sound good at all. Yes you loved a mojito but this wasn't a mojito and it had double the alcohol and you don't normally have more than a few drinks so you were hesitant to drink it. Well you can just sip on it throughout the night and keep the same drink, and if it really is that bad then you can just pretend to take sips- they won't know the difference not when everyone arrives. Actually, when it gets busy you can just pour it down the drain, it's not like Angie will notice.
She let out a scoff as she laughed "that's not why I've called it dark, silly."
She moved past you, drink in hand as you watched her go, confused. What makes it dark then??
"Come on we'll go into the living room, really get this party started. Kyle! Where are you babe?!"
Angie led you down the hallway, passed the front door and into the living room.
"Upstairs baby I'm calling Blake, give me a sec."
Angie let out an excited sequel, "ahhhh yay okay come sit with me I've got something to tell you" she dragged you over to the couch and you sat down together.
"Okays you might want a sip of your DM for this- DM as in dark mojito, that's what I'm nicknaming it-" she shrugged proudly.
You felt a knot form in your stomach, "for what Angie, what's going on?"
She gestured to your drink and you, "sip first then I'll tell"
You huffed bringing your drink to your lips and took a sip, and surprisingly it really wasn't bad. Angie must have read your face because she smiled smugly, "It's good isn't it, I know. Anyway, me and Kyle were talking after we saw you and Steve at the arcade and we said how we'd love to double date cause it would be so fun-"
You cut her off abruptly, feeling the heat creep up your face "Ange me and Steve aren't a couple-"
It was her turn to cut you off, as she laughed "I know that silly, well at first I thought you both looked really good together and I told Kyle that but he said to me that Steve would never go for you, you aren't his type he likes pretty girls that have a bit of fire- his words not mine but anyway I said it'd still be nice to double date and we both really like you and Kyle's older cousin is single so I had to most amazing idea to set you two up- well I wanted to set you up with someone and Kyle said that Blake is the perfect guy for you- he's older than Kyle, he's got that bad boy rugged persona down to a T and he really really likes you- well not yet but he will trust me."
Your mind felt frazzled as you tried to take in everything Angie had just dumped on you. They thought Steve wouldn't date you, you weren't his type? You liked Steve, like really really liked him and you'd hoped he'd thought the same but you'd never crossed that bridge from friendship to something more so you didn't know. But hearing Angie say Steve wouldn't go for you because you weren't pretty and didn't have fire? You didn't really understand what that meant but that didn't mean the pain lessened. And then it finally hit you, the graviton of the situation you were in...
They'd set you up on a date?!
You'd never dated, never been with anyone romantically and that suited you. You liked Steve and even if he didn't reciprocate it you still didn't want to date someone else never mind Kyle's older cousin. Older? How much older, because Kyle's Steve age, is he older than Steve?!
You let out a shaky breath as you tried to compose yourself, "Angie I don't know how I feel about this, I- I don't want to go on a date and I've never even met Kyle's older cousin... how much older is he by the way?"
"I know, that's why you're meeting him now, if it helps just tell yourself this isn't a date you're just getting to know him."
Your chest tightened, you didn't want to do this but you felt too awkward to get out of it. You'd kick yourself later when you reflected on this, on how for some reason you put Angie, Kyle and Blake before yourself and although they obviously didn't care about you, you were still trying to please them.
"Angie I don't know-" you did know, you didn't want to do this, you didn't want to be here but you couldn't find the strength to tell her that.
And before Angie could respond the bell rung. Your chest felt tight and your palms began to sweat.
"Ah yay that's him, Kyle it's Blake come answer the door I wanna stay with my girl-" she nudged you with her arm "relax babe don't worry, I wouldn't put you in a situation if I thought it'd make you uncomfortable." It didn't matter what she thought, you were uncomfortable and it was only gonna get worse when Blake walked in.
Kyle came thundering down the stairs, and winked at you as he ran past towards the front door. You heard it open and Kyle greet someone, then you heard Blake's voice and it sounded deep.
"Does he know you're setting us up?" you hastily whispered to Angie.
"Blake, yeah he knows he's all up for it."
Great. This felt deeply unnerving, the way these three had made this plan and set you up like you were a piece of art about to be auctioned off actually no you were a piece of meat that had already been sold.
Blake entered the room and the knot in your stomach tightened to a point you felt cramp. He was average hight, smaller than Steve, but he was broad and he had a beard?!
He came straight over to you, and Angie stood from the couch pulling you up with her.
"Blake" he said as he leant in and kissed you on the cheek. His beard scratched your face and he had a weird smell to him. You replied with your name and then sat back down on the couch, "nice dress" he grunted out and that had you readjusting your dress so it stretched to your knees, you felt exposed under his gaze. He sat on the couch opposite you with Kyle and pulled out a tin lunch box, which looking closer at looked a hella of a lot like the one Eddie lost.
Kyle and Blake began chatting away and although their voices were incredibly loud, you couldn't bring yourself to listen you were trying to plan a way out of here. Steve said he'd join you at 9 because you'd told him it was a party (well tbf up until about 5 minutes ago you still thought it was a party and that everyone was late) and if you waited by the door you could run out to Steve's car before he got out and-
"Pick your poison princess" Blake's deep voice cut through your thoughts.
"What?"
"What one you having, Klye's gone with some weed but me I'm an acid guy."
Drugs?!
You felt like your breath had been stolen from you, "I'm neither I don't- I don't want anything, thanks." you felt everyones eyes on you.
Blake laughed and you hated the sound of it, "come on princess, this is a party and at parties we have fun"
The way he called you 'princess' made you feel uncomfortable, it was like he was holding it over you, it felt like a threat.
Angie spoke on behalf of you, "Blake she doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to, but I do so pass me that spliff."
Blake's eyes hardened, staring at you he leant forward and took the unlit spliff from the tin and threw it in Angie's direction. Angie let out an excited giggle and then you heard the sound of a lighter, and then the smell of weed filled the air.
You stifled your breathing, trying not to cough you didn't need more attention on you that it already was.
Even though Kyle nor Angie were looking at you, it still felt like all the eyes in the room were on you. It was suffocating and you tried to control your breathing, as best as you could. But the weight of the room rested heavily on your chest because Blake was staring at you and he had been for some time. You made eye contact with him and looked away quickly towards Angie and Kyle who were laughing at something. But you still felt the burn of his stare, and the anxiety that you had tried to suppress all night was flooding through you now.
You looked back over to him and offered him a small smile, hoping to alleviate any tension. But that made it worse. He smirked back at you, took two pills out of the tin, put them on his tongue, swallowed them down with a gulp of his beer, and then sat back in his chair man spreading, all while maintaining eye contact with you.
You had never felt a chilling sense of fear like the one that was overwhelming you right now. Two years ago your life was uprooted by another dimension of evil, you'd faced off with Demogorgans and Demodogs with nothing more than a spare baseball bat of Steves (minus the nails). During the past two years, you've been scared, you've been crippled with terror almost to a point of no return. But that fear was nothing like this fear, the monsters from the Upside Down wanted to kill you it was their nature... but the worst they would have done to you was kill you, and sitting opposite Blake as he eyed you up with the ferocity of a predator looking at its prey, you realised his intentions were worst than the Demogorgans.
Kyle dropping on the couch next to you broke you out of your thoughts, you looked over to him to see him making out with Angie. Great.
You refused to look at Blake, you didn't want him to get any more ideas than he already has.
He spoke as he stood, beer in hand, "come on princess, we'll give them their privacy." no, no way were you leaving this room with him.
He made his way over to you and grabbed your wrist pulling you up from the couch, "wait, no- I think we should stay here-"
He smiled at you, but it was like no smile you had ever seen it was disturbing "why you scared of me?" he laughed. That must have been an attempt of a joke, his way of lightening the mood but yeah you were scared of him and there was no way you were going anywhere with him. He tightened his grip on your wrist, "come on"
"Angie-" you managed to force out, but it came out like a shriek, "Angie" you called out again in panic.
Kyle and Angie stopped making out and looked over to you and Blake, halfway across the living room.
"You good babe?" Angie asked you as she got up from the couch, "you look pale, how much of your DM have you had?"
"I'm fine, just feel a bit queasy and I really need your bathroom- where is it, please?" you rushed out, and looked over towards Kyle pleading with your eyes for him to just give you the directions so you could run and lock yourself in there.
"Ah, upstairs last door on the right, you want Angie to go with you, you really don't look too good?" Kyle spoke as he looked you over and honed in on your wrist, still firmly gripped by Blake.
"I'm okay, I want to go alone. Thanks." You attempted to pull your wrist out of Blake's grip but he still held firm.
Kyle noticed and let out an awkward laugh, "man the fuck, loosen up on your grip will you. That's no way to win a lady" he spoke as he walked towards you and Blake. Blake dropped your wrist and turned towards Kyle, sneering "I don't got to loosen up on nothing, just making sure I get what I came for."
You didn't need to hear anymore of this, and it sounded like Blake was about to flip his shit so you took that as your escape. You hastily walked up the stairs and then ran down the hallway. You wanted to go the toilet because you remember before Kyle had called down to you and Angie that he was on the phone to Blake, so there must be a phone up here. And there at the end of the hallway, like a shinning miracle from the Lord, was a rotary phone. You rushed towards it and dialled the number you knew would answer.
It rang and it rang, you could hear Blake talking with Kyle- their voices raised.
Still the phone rang, what if he wasn't home yet?
And then the ringing stopped as the line was answered, "Harrington residence." You could have cried in relief, you must have let out some sort of noice to his greeting because he didn't give you time to respond before he defensively snapped.
"What? okay is this a prank call- Dustin if that's you I swear I'll hang you by your curls on the washing line, okay I told you mom says I have to answer the phone like that incase any of dad's business calls come through to the house- no wait why am I even explaining this to you, Dustin you're lucky I like your sister cause you're really starting to test my patience-"
"Steve." You cut across him, later you can unpack his ramblings and harmless threats to your brother but not now- now you needed Steve.
Steve abruptly stopped his rambling and the silence that hung between the two of you felt deafening. He called your name.
"What's happened?! Are you okay?!" He spoke unnervingly calm, but at the sound of his voice, all of the emotions you had been fighting off came barreling out.
"Steve I need you-" tears we're streaming down your face, and your breathing was coming in short.
"Okay. Okay, are you still at Kyle's?" You could hear frantic shuffling on the line, and the noice made you freeze... you couldn't hear Blake's booming voice! You tucked the receiver into your neck and strained to try and hear what was going on downstairs... you heard Angie laugh and both of the boys respond. While you were listening to those downstairs, you hadn't realised Steve had been frantically calling your name, pleading for you to answer.
You brought the phone back up to your ear, as your tears continued to fall you heard Steve's voice "you got to talk to me okay- I'm freaking out over here, fuck-"
"I- I'm still at Kyle's this isn't a party they-" you hiccuped "they set me up on a date with Kyle's older cousin and Steve he's really scary and I-I don't know what to do I want to go home"
Steve felt his heart break in two at the sound of your voice drenched in fear, he'd never heard you panic like this. He grabbed his car keys, "I'm on my way okay, I'm leaving right now I live like a few minutes from Kyle's okay I'll be there in less than five minutes but I need you to go to a bathroom or somewhere with a lock okay-"
"I said I was going the bathroom to them, I'll go in there" your voice sounded so small, so full of fear. Steve didn't like it, it felt like his veins were on fire. He never liked when you were scared, but the demogrgans he got that that shit was scary but no one not born of the upside down should be able to elicit such fear out of you.
"That's good baby, okay we're gonna hang up and you're gonna go in the bathroom and lock yourself in-"
"No. No I don't want to hang up Stevie" he could feel your panic through the phone, fuck.
"Got to do it baby, you're gonna be safer in the bathroom than you are on the phone. You lock yourself in the bathroom and I'll be there in five, and you do not come out until I come to get you okay?" Steve was always able to take charge in situations of panic and fear, he'd had plenty of practice.
Letting out a shaky exhale you meekly responded, "okay, I can do that."
"Good okay, go lock yourself in and I'll be there in five I promise. Don't open that door for anyone other than me, I don't care if Angie comes knocking- only open it for me. I'll be there soon, okay just wait for me."
And with that he hung up, you quickly put the receiver back onto the phone and darted for the bathroom door. Stepping in you closed the door behind you and put the lock in place. Sitting on the closed toilet seat you bent your head to you knees as you tried to breath. It was all too much, the tears were still flowing and the crippling panic that was woven through your veins didn't relent, in fact it worsened. How was Steve going to get through Kyle's house and get you? They'd see him, someone would have to open the door for him and then they'd know you called him. Blake was clearly off his head on drugs and it seemed he was looking for fight before with how he started on Kyle. If he spoke like that to his own cousin, he'd do so much worse to Steve and Steve's never won a fight. no. This can't be happening, this can't be happening.
You don't know how much time had passed but you heard the screech of tires outside, standing up on the toilet seat you looked out of the window that overlooked the street. It was Steve's car.
Hearing his car door slam shut, you made a decision you knew Steve would reprimand you for later but right now you didn't care about that, you wanted to make sure Steve's beautiful face stayed in tact and he had no new scars to add to his collection on account for protecting you, again.
Unlocking the door quickly, you ran down the hallway and down the stairs pausing in the living room as everyones eyes turned on you. You didn't linger too long to take them all in, but you felt Blake's unnerving stare settle upon your skin.
Speaking quickly, you stammered out "I've got to go- Steve's here-"
You rushed towards the front door, just as the pounding on the front door started.
"Who the fuck's Steve?!" Blake called out.
You could hear Kyle answer him, but his voice seemed to be getting closer to you. Yanking the front door open, you all but melted into Steve. There he was in front of you, glaring as you opened the door but his eyes softened when he saw it was you.
"Are you okay?"He pulled you into a tight embrace, "hey I told you to stay in the bathroom"
"I didn't want you to get into a fight- can we go" you looked over you shoulder as you felt someone approaching. It was Kyle, closely followed by Blake.
"Hey Steve, how've you been?" Kyle called out to Steve as he stood behind you, Steve subtly pulled you behind him as he spoke "save the bullshit Kyle, I swear to God-" Steve was livid, he didn't know all the details of the situation but what he did know was that you'd called him crying from fear at what you thought was a 'party', and the reason you were so scared must have been because of one of the boys currently stood in front of you- or both of them. Steve didn't care, all he cared about was you and they'd scared you shitless and he wasn't having it. He felt you tug the back of his jacket and he realised that this wasn't about him, that even if he started a fight because of what they might have done to you, it didn't matter, none of it did. All that mattered was you, and you called Steve because he made you feel safe and there was no way he was going to jeopardise that because of some jerk like Kyle McCay and the weirdo with the beard that was stood behind him glaring at him. So Steve rose above every instinct in him that was screaming at him to grab his baseball bat and go to town on these lowlives. He rose above it all because he knew you didn't want him fighting, that was why you'd ran down to the door- to save him, and he was saving you.
"Let me make this very fucking clear, if either of you two fuckers think I'll let what happened tonight go then you're wrong, same goes for Angie. But as a man I'm addressing you two cause I don't believe in scaring a girl shitless, but obviously that's where we differ. You don't look at her, you don't talk to her, hell you even think about breathing the same air as her... I'll have your head." Steve didn't wait for a response, he turned around and gently guided you to walk in front of him to his car. He opened his car door, guided you in to the seat, buckled you up and kissed you on the forehead. Slamming the door shut behind him, he made his way around to the drivers side, got in and started the car.
The car began to pull away, and as you sat in the safety of Steve's car you could still feel the burn of that stare penetrating you and you feared it wouldn't be the last time you felt it.

(also sorry if there are mistakes, I didn’t really read it :/)
——————
You huffed as you opened the door to the roof of the StarCourt Mall. When you become in contact with the sun, you squint your eyes and pull your hand infront of your face.
“Yo! Henderson!” Dustin turns to face you, the binoculars still glued to his face. You stifle a laugh. “I got your note! What do you want?” You yelled to him. You held up the note he had left you that morning at your shop on the counter.
Meet me at the roof. Come alone - Dustin
“Shhh!” He shushes you quickly. You walk closer to him. He is kneeled on the floor. He pulls you to the floor by your forearm. You fall to the floor with a plop. You hiss at him.
“What the hell!?” You exclaim loudly. He shushes you again, pointing to something down below. You look. Evil Russian’s. “Oh” you whisper out, getting into a comfortable position on the ground. You lean closer to Dustin, “Why are we here?”
He shrugs innocently, “Spying on Evil Russian’s” You nod, moving away, “Right, Right.” It’s silent. You speak up again, “That still doesn’t explain why I’m here” You point to yourself.
Dustin sighs, removing the binoculars from his eyes and placing them on the floor next to him. “I have a bone to pick with you” he looks to you. You snicker, leaning over to grab the binoculars. He lets you, you’re suprised. You put them up to your face. “Yeah? Like what?” You laugh breathlessly.
“Do you like Steve?” His questing catches you off - guard. You peel your eyes away from the binoculars quickly. “What?” You ask.
You’re not really sure if you’d heard him correctly. You were positive that you were good at hiding your feelings but apparently not. First Sarah knew and now Dustin. God probably Steve knew himself! Maybe you can play it off. Say you didn’t like him.
“You heard me. Do you like Steve?” Dustin repeated himself. You scoffed, shaking your head. You put the binoculars up to your face agin. “Now why would you think that?” You chuckled wearily.
Dustin, clearly annoyed, snatched the binoculars from your grip, forcing you to look at him. “Don’t act dumb (y/n)! I saw how sad you looked when you saw him and Robin holding hands!”
You sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of your nose with your thumb and pointer finger. God, he saw that! You were in deep shit now. You didn’t know why but you felt the urge to tell Dustin the truth. You two had grown closer over the pass couple of days. He was probably one of the only people you could trust. So you did. You told him the truth.
“Ok! So what if I did?” You exclaimed. Dustin fist pumped the air, “Yes! I knew it!.” You rolled your eyes at him, putting your head in your hands. “It’s that freaking obvious, huh?” You mumbled in your palm.
“Yea. The way you look at him, it makes me believe love is real” Dustin said. You looked up at him quickly, shaking your head with a laugh. “Woah, Woah, Woah” you let out a shaky laugh, “I don’t love him” you objected.
Dustin sighs again, bringing the binoculars back to his face. “Yea, whatever you say (y/n).” You laugh at him again. “Seriously I don’t.” Dustin doesn’t look at you, letting out an unsure hum and mumbling, “sure you don’t.”
It’s silent again. You pull your knees to your chest, and let out a stressful sigh. You look at Dustin again. “You know you can’t tell anyone about this, right?” Dustin, eyes still in the binoculars, nods. “And I mean anyone. Not your friends. Not Robin. And definitely not Steve”.
He finally takes the binoculars off. “I won’t, I won’t” You nod greatfully at him. Your pinkie raises in the air before him. “Pinkie Promise?” He looked to you in disbelief before scoffing, “Seriously (y/n)?.”
You shrugg innocently, pursing your lips. “Well if you meant it, you would pinkie promise” you start to pull your pinkie away. He groans in annoyance, “Fine! Fine!”
You smirk in victory. His pinkie twist around yours, and he stares you dead in the eyes. He holds up his other hand, showing his uncrossed fingers. “I swear, I will not tell a single soul.”
You smile pulling your pinkie away, “Good.”
In the two hours that follow, you and Dustin had made it to Scoops to tell Robin and Steve the stuff you say the Russians doing with the key cards.
“That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun.” Dustin explained, leaning against the wall. Steve and Robin stood across from each other at the small blue and white table. You stood next to Dustin, nodding along to what he explained.
“Whatever’s in this room, whatever’s in those boxes, they really don’t want anybody finding it” you concluded. Steve played with his white sailors hat by flipping it along his finger whilst Robin played with an ice cream scooper. “But there’s gotta be a way in” Robin sighed, leaning back in her seat in defeat.
Steve throws his hat on the table, “Well, you know...” he then leans his elbows on the table, eyeing all three of you. “I could just take him out” Steve shrugged.
Your eyes squinted and you almost scoffed. “Take who out?” Robin asked with wide eyes. Steve shrugged again, as if it was no big deal. “The Russian Gaurd. What? I sneak up behind him, I knock him out and I take his keycard. It’s easy.”
“Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?” Dustin points out bluntly. You chuckle in your fist, looking between both boys humorously. Steve glanced to you before looking back to Dustin. “Yes, Dustin, I did” Steve spoke back in a ‘matter of fact tone’. “And that’s why I would be sneaking.” Steve moves his pointer and middle finger across the table, demonstrating a sneaking motion.
Dustin crosses his arms, “Well, please, tell me this, and be honest, have you ever actually...won a fight?” Dustin seemed to challenge. At that comment, you started laughing into your palm. Steve shot you a look again, but to his dismay you continued to laugh.
Steve butts in, “Okay, that was one time,” Dustin quickly cut him off, “twice. Johnathan. Year prior?”
Ah, you had remembered that day. You had heard that Johnathan Byers has beat the shit out of Steve Harrington’s face. It was amusing really. The geeky camera guy beating up the popular king of the school. Now that was one for the books. You had remembered being so proud of him, but you never had the chance to tell him.
“Listen, that doesn’t count” he begins but you tilt your head to the side letting out a sound of disagreement. “Why wouldn’t it count? Because it looks like he beat the shit out of you” Dustin cut in again. You chuckled into your palm again. Robin looked between the three of you in amusement. Suddenly, her eyes took gaze open a object in the far corner. Her face falls into a blank stare. She then smiled knowingly.
“That just might work” Robin mumbled. Suddenly she escaped through the back, walking to the front of the shop. Her hand dug in the tip jar, scooping the money from inside. You, Steve, and Dustin followed.
“Hey, Robin! What, what are you doing?” Steve asked. Robin turned around, slowly walking out of the ice cream parlor. “I need cash” she shrugged.
“Well, half of thats mine. Where you goin?” Steve projected back. “To find us a way into that room, a safe way. And, in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don’t get beat up. I’ll be back in a jiff” She salutes the three of you before bolting away.
You look to Dustin, who has one of the ice cream scooper’s in his mouth, eating ice cream from the top. Steve glances at him before snatching it away. “Oh, Dude!” He twirls the scooper before placing it in one of his apron pockets. “Come on man, not my scooper.”
You and Dustin stayed in the back of Scoops, waiting for Robin to return. Steve did as he was told, slinging ice cream in the front. You peeked at him through the glass of the sliding windows. A line was forming rapidly, and you watched as Steve frantically moved around, trying to get the orders out quickly.
“Should we help him?” You asked Dustin, who was pacing around the room. You were suprised you haven’t yelled at him to stop yet. He was also quiet, which wasn’t like him. “Not right now, (y/n). I’m sure Steve can handle it.”
You look at Steve again. While rushing to get the whip cream, you watch Steve spill an order of a strawberry milkshake. It falls to the floor, and he bends down to start cleaning it. You indistinctively hear him repeatedly apologizing to the customer.
You quickly ran to the other side of the room, grabbing a spare Scoops Ahoy sailer’s hat and an apron. You put the hat on your head, and tie the apron around your waist tightly.
Dustin furrows his eyebrows at you, “Uh, what are you doing?”. You see one of the blue Scoops Ahoy vests and put it on, covering your work maroon shirt. It wasn’t the complete Scoops Ahoy uniform, but it would have to do. “I’m gonna go out there!”
“Oooo, you gonna make your move?” Dustin wiggles his eyebrows to at you. You give him a dumbfounded look, “No, im gonna help with the shit ton of orders that are piling in”. You rush to the door, ready to open it. “Sure you are (y/n)” Dustin teased sarcastically. You give him a dirty look, before pushing the doors open.
Steve, who was still on his knees, cleaning up the splattered pink and red milkshake, turned back to look at you. He smiled instantly, the smile becoming bigger when he say you wearing some of Scoops uniform. “(y/n)? What, what are you doing?”
You smirked, “Helping your ass.” You then stepped over the mess, and towards the counter, where a line of costumers were waiting.
“Ahoy!” You greeted. “ What can I get you guys?” You asked enthusiastically, in the all to familiar Scoops Ahoy Sailor character. Steve grinned up at you from the ground ever so often. To his astonishisment, you in that uniform was doing something for him. When you two had officially met, you would talk to each other every so often, and Steve had started taking a liking to you, but only in a friendly way. But looking at you now, he’s not sure what he felt. All he knew was that you looked really cute in that sailors hat.
When Steve has finally finished cleaning the milkshake, you two moved around quickly, the orders going out quick and easy. And before you too knew it, the customers slowed down and then there was none left.
You leaned against the counter, your upper arm aching from scooping so much ice cream. Steve leaned next to you, whipping his hand with a blue washcloth. You winced, moving your arm in a circular motion. “God, I’ve never scooped so much ice cream in my life. My arm hurts like hell” you chuckled.
Steve chuckled too and it was like music to your ears. “Yea, I was like that the first week too. But, ya know? You get used to it” he shrugged. “However it’s definitely not worth the 3 dollars I get an hour.” You both laughed at his comment.
When the laughing died down, you hid your smile in your hand. Steve stared at you, the corners of his lips turned up slightly. His eyes trailed along your features. Every crease, every eyelash, every freckle. You were beautiful. Your cheeks wore a light shade of pink, and he wanted nothing more then to hold and kiss them. His eyes trailed to your hair. It was styled down, the hair going along your shoulder and back. It looked so soft and god did he want to touch it. Jesus, was he smitten.
You noticed his staring, removing your hand from your face. You narrowed your eyes and pursed your lips at him. “What?” You giggled out.
Steve chuckled awkwardly, he smiled brightly looking away. “Sorry” he played with his hands, a thing you often saw him do when he was nervous. His gaze was upon you again, “You just look so damn cute in the sailors hat.”
Your cheeks raged pink. Now it was your turn to look away. The corners of your mouth turned up and soon your pearly whites shown. Steve’s fingers reached out, grazing your’s that were rested comfortably along the table that you leaned on. He didn’t hold your hand, no, just his fingers lightly drawing patterns along the front and fingers. You wanted to hold his hand, and you could tell he did too.
Your eyes meet his again. He looked to your lips and then back to your eyes. Your breath seemed to get caught in your throat. Did he want to kiss you? No. He liked Robin. They were holding hands. He had to like her. But the way he looked at you. Could he like you?
Thoughts and possibilities flooded your mind. His face got closer, closer, so close.
“Guys! I got it!” A cheery voice broke you two apart. Steve jolted away quickly. and your head whipped around to the voice. It was Robin. She was holding, a map? She stopped though, watching both you and Steve’s flustered pink faces. Her eyebrows furrowed, “You two alright?”
Steve nodded frantically, running a hand along the back of his neck. “Yea, yea, we’re uh...fine” Steve looks to you. You give a convincing nod Robins way. “Yea, Great!” You agree with Steve.
“Okay...anyway” She holds up the map further, showing you two the map she had found. “I got it!” She repeated again. Steve’s eyes narrowed, “And what is that exactly?”
In the back of Scoops, Robin laid out the map on the table. You, Steve, and Dustin hovered over it. “It is fascinating what 20 bucks will get you at the County Recorders Office”. She flattens the map out, giving each of you her best grin, “StarCourt Mall. The complete blueprint’s”
Dustin smiles up at her, “Not bad.” You agree with him. The map seemed to show all of the Mall. You were impressed. “So, this is us, Scoops” Robin points to a small area near the bottom of the map. You all lean in closer to look. You smile as you see the store you worked at a short way from Scoops.
She points further up the map, “And this is where we want to get.” Your eyebrows furrow, your eyes trailing the map frantically. “How?” You ask breathlessly. Steve looks at you before nodding back down at the map. “Yeah. I mean, I don’t really see a way in” he shrugged his hunched shoulders.
“There’s not” Robin points out quickly. By this point, you and Steve are extremely confused. Suddenly Robin rips the map off, under it is another one. “If you’re talking exclusively about doors.”
Dustin gets it, “Air ducts” he says in astonishment. Robin smiles at the kid, “Exactly.” She rushes over to the whiteboard on the other side of the room. “Turns out, this secret room needs air just like any old room.” The three of your eyes watch Robin as she grabs a marker from the whiteboard. “These air ducts” She circles one of the air ducts on the top with the red marker. “Lead all the way” she drags the marker downward. “Here” She goes down to the bottom, circling the air duct of Scoops.
You, Dustin and Steve look to the small vent. Robin closes the marker with a click.
You stand beside the ladder as Steve unscrews the vent, a screwdriver between his teeth. He hands it to you, to which you then place on the floor. “Flashlight” his voice mumbled against the tool. Dustin hands it to him. They trade, the screwdriver for the flashlight. You hold onto one of the legs of the ladder, making sure Steve doesn’t fall. You could already see that incident taking place.
He flashes the light into the dark vent, his eyes straining to see. You, Robin, and Dustin wait patiently down below. “Yeah, I don’t know, man. I don’t know if you could fit in here. It’s like...super tight” he refers to Dustin. “I’ll fit” Dustin convinces back. You mentally shake your head. There was nooo way Dustin would fit.
“Trust me. No collar bones, remember?” You and Robin look to each other eyes wide. “Uh, excuse me?” Robin asked quickly. Steve jumps down from the later. “Oh, he’s, uh yeah he’s got some disease. Chry, Uh...it’s chrydo, um... Something. Yea, I dunno”
You smile at his cute stuttering. “He’s missing bones and stuff. He can bend like Gumbo.” Your eyebrows furrow. Isn’t it Gumby? “You mean Gumby?” You ask through raised eyebrows. Steve looks to you, “I’m pretty sure it’s Gumbo.”
“Steve, just shut up and push me!” Dustin’s voice echoed due to the vent. “Okay” Steve drawls out, rolling his eyes before moving up the ladder. He grabs Dustin by the feet, lifting him off the ladder, before giving him a solid push into the vent. He doesn’t budge. “Not my feet, dumbass. Push my ass” Dustin yells back angrily.
“What?” Steve says. “Touch my butt! I don’t care!” Dustin screams back. You stifle a laugh. And sure enough, Steve moves further up the ladder, and attempt’s to push Dustin in. “Come on! Harder! Push Harder!”
“I’m pushing!” Steve resorts back. “You’re playing with my legs.” “I’m not playing, I have terrible footing.” God, they sound like a old married couple. Robin looks to you, giving you a ‘what the hell is going on’ face. You giggle and shrug innocently.
“I’m gonna just shove you, ready?” Steve says. He starts counting, Dustin’s legs wrapped around the back of his neck for better support. “One, Two...”
He shoved him. Once again, Dustin doesn’t budge. “Shit!” He exclaims. “One more time” he says to Steve.
Suddenly, the sound of the customer bell rings from the front of Scoops. Robin turns, looking to an annoyed Erica Sinclair. She’s ringing the bell rapidly saying, “Ahoy, sailors! All hands on deck! Ahoy!”
Robin smiles mischievously, and you won’t even try to process the thoughts flowing in that girls head.
Robin leaves you and goes to the front. Your mouth is just forming her name when the swinging door swings back in your direction. You look back over to the boys to see Steve still trying to push Dustin inside the vent. You sigh, moving towards the ladder and nudging Steve’s leg. He looks down to you.
“Both of you come down. It’s clearly not gonna work.” With sighs of defeat Steve and Dustin touch the ground. “Where’s Robin?” Steve asks, looking around, not noticing her presence. You shrugg, “Who the hell knows anymore.”
Suddenly she retreats back with, Erica Sinclair? The little girls eyes widen when they see you. “(y/n)?” she questioned, eyebrows raised. “What are you doing hanging around with these nerds?”
You chuckle. You loved this kid. Steve steps in, “Uh, you two know eachother?” His hands move between you and Erica. “I babysat her for like three years” you shrugged. Steve nods.
Erica looks over to Robin. “What vent were you talking about?” She asks. Robin points to the small vent above them. “That one”
The four of you watch as Erica shines the flashlight into the vent. “Hmm” she hums unsurely. She hops down from the latter, facing the four of you who were leaning against the white and blue wall. “Yeah, I don’t know” Erica says.
“You don’t know if you could fit?” Dustin asks. Erica scoffs, “Oh, I can fit. I just don’t know if I want too.” “Are you claustrophobic?” Robin speaks up. Erica snickers, “I don’t have phobias.”
“Okay, well, what’s the problem?” Steve draws out, the annoyance in his voice increasing with every word. “The problem is, I still haven’t heard what’s in this for Erica.” She sasses back. Steve sucks in his teeth and looks to Robin, who raises her brows.
You watch as Steve moves a gigantic banana split before Erica’s eyes. She examines it before pushing it back to Steve. “More fudge, please.” When Steve doesn’t move, Erica flutters her hand in his direction, prompting him to move. “Go on.” You watch as Steve flashes her the fakiest smile you have ever seen and goes to get her more fudge.
“All right” Robin pulls out the map. “You see this?” She points to the line written in red marker. “This is the route you’re gonna take.” Robin then turns the map over, and points to a big area circled with the red line. “Then we just wait till the last delivery goes out tonight. Then you knock down the grate, jump down, open the door.” Robin explains it as if it were the easiest thing in the world.
“Then you find out what’s in those boxes?” Erica scoops a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth from the remaining few on the table. “Exactly” Robin concludes. Erica makes an unsure sound again. “And you say this guard is armed.”
You and Dustin look at eachother. “Yes, but he won’t be there” you try to convince. Dustin seems to nod along to you for moral support. “And booby traps?” She asks further. Robin cuts in, “Booby traps?” She questions. “Lasers, spikes in the wall?” Erica explains.
Robin laughs at her, so does Dustin. “You know what this half-baked plan of yours sounds like to me?” Erica quirks an eyebrow at the three of you. Dustin makes a face at her. “Child endangerment” She draws out.
You frown quickly at the idea that Erica thought you were willingly trying to danger her. You babysat the kid for three freaking years. You lean up again. “We’ll be in radio contact with you the whole time” you try to persuade. “Ah, ah ah,” she points her finger at you. “Child endangerment” She draws out, once again. You huff, rolling your eyes, plopping back against the red booth.
“Erica? Hi. Uh, we think these Russians want to do harm to our country. Great harm. Don’t you love your country?” Dustin takes a new method in persuading. Erica thinks for a minute before smirking. “You can’t spell “America” without “Erica.”
You and Dustin look to eachother before both nodding your heads. “Uh, Yeah, Yeah” Dustin nods his head. “Oddly, that’s, uh, totally true.”
You lean in closer to her, “So, don’t do this for us. Do it for your country” you shrug at her before, leaning back into the booth. Dustin adds on, “Do it for your fellow man.”
Erica slurps harshly on one of the Scoops Ahoy milkshakes. The drink reminds you of what happened between you and Steve just one hour before. He did try to kiss you. You looked to Robin, who was nodding along to whatever else Dustin was saying to Erica. You knew she liked Steve. You could tell she enjoyed his company and he enjoyed her’s. They held hands. You felt guilty. Just seeming to barge into their friend group like this. And maybe whatever Steve and Robin had going on. You bit at your thumbnail.
Night fell, and it was time. “Erica, do you copy?” Robin spoke into the walkie talkie. Erica’s sassy voice resorts back, “Mm-hmm. I copy. You nerds in position or what?”
“Yeah, we’re in position” Robin says back. “It’s all quiet here, so you’ve got the green light” Robin assures. You stand between Steve and Dustin, and roll your eyes at Dustin’s binoculars, thinking of how those things almost had you all killed the other night. “Green light, roger that.” Her voice then continued, “Commence Operation Child Endangerment.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. You grab the walkie talkie from Robins grip.
“Can we maybe not call it that?” You speak into the device. Erica ignores you, her voice coming in again, “See you on the other side, nerds.”
You all look to eachother before taking a comfortable position on the ground, waiting for Erica to open the door. Without even noticing, you lean your head on Steve’s shoulder. He tilts his head over, smiling into your hair. Robin doesn’t notice, keeping her gaze mostly on the door. Dustin eyes the both of you, a small grin ghosting his lips. When you realize what your doing, you try to hold back a smile. Steve was warm against you. It was summer, but the night was cool, prompting a chill to seize your skin every so often. Steve noticed, wrapping his arm around your shoulder before resting his palm against your lower arm. His hands trailed up and down, trying to create a warm friction between the two of you. In a few seconds you stopped shaking.
Before any of you could say something, Erica’s voice comes through the walkie talkie that rested in your palm. “All right, nerds.”
You jolt your head off of Steve’s shoulder, Robin, Steve and Dustin crowding around you. “I’m there.” You all smile at eachother. Robin leans over, “Do you see anything?”
“Yeah, I see those boring boxes you’re so excited about.” You chuckle, putting the communication device to your mouth, “Any guards?” You ask. “Negative” Erica answers back. You sigh in relief. Robin cuts in again, “Booby traps?” She smirks.
“If I could see them, they’d be pretty shit traps, wouldn’t they?” Erica pipes back. You and Dustin look at eachother before nodding. Steve rolled his eyes. “Thank you for that.” Robin depressed a chuckle.
You all hear a yell and then a bang before her voice comes through again. “I’m in” she confirms. Steve untenses from next to you, running his hand through his voluminous hair, before muttering out a “oh god” in relief. You all look to the door anxiously.
The doors open and Erica walks out in all her glory. She puts a hand on her hip, “Free ice cream...for life.” She points at Robin and Steve. The four of you walk down the stairs to the road below.
Once inside, the five of you spent no time to see what’s in those boxes. Steve opens one of the Imperial Panda boxes with a box cutter. He opens the box, you and Robin helping with the sides. It’s...a smaller box?
Your eyebrows furrow. It’s a small beige box with a small metal handle on top. Steve grabs the handle before twisting it open. Air hisses from the action. He gently pulls the lid off. The five of you lean over, looking inside. Before your eyes lay four other small steel handles. “That’s definitely not Chinese food.” Steve jokes. Yup, definitely not.
“Uh, maybe you guys should, you know, stand back.” Steve motions for the four of you to stand back. You, Robin, and Erica do so. Dustin doesn’t move. “No” he protest, moving closer. Steve pushes him away by the chest, “Just step back, okay?”
Dustin moves forward again, “No.” “Step back. Seriously.” Steve warns. “No! No! If you die, I die.” Dustin proclaims. You smile softly. It was sweet, but a little weird. Steve shrugs, “Okay.” The next thing you know, his hand is reaching into the box.
Steve slowly twist one of the handles. It makes a clicking noise before that same air hissing noise from before. He pulls it out. It’s a small container with a green liquid inside. You all stare at eachother in shock.
“What the hell?” Steve whispered breathlessly. “What is that?” Robin asked after him. Suddenly the floor rumbled slightly beneath you. You all look around in panic. What the hell was that?
Dustin’s scarred voice comes next, “Was that just me, or did the room move?” You shook your head, swallowing thickly. “Nope. The room definitely just moved.” You answered. “Booby traps” Erica whispers out from next to you.
The room shakes again, a mechanical whirring being heard from off the walls. “You know what? Let’s just grab that and go” Robin steps forward in panic, grabbing the strange green container. Dustin moves over to the bottons on the wall. He presses the blue botton with the words ‘Door Open’ displayed on the front. The door doesn’t open.
“Which one do I press, Erica?” Dustin shouts, his voice yelling the word panic. “Just press the damn button, nerd” Erica sassed. “Which one? I’m pressing the button, okay?”
“Press ‘open door’!” Erica yelled. Dustin huffs, “I’m pressing ‘open door’.” You move forward, ready to put their bickering to rest. “Maybe try pressing the other button” you say sarcastically. You start pressing all the buttons now, but none of them work. Steve makes his way next you, slightly shoving you away. “Maybe try this one” he presses the glowing green button in the middle.
Another door above slams down before you. It’s silent for a moment. All of you waiting for what was next. However, this one you didn’t expect. The room rattled before then rapidly plunging to the floor.Erica and Robin scream, grabbing onto shelf’s and boxes. You grab onto Steve. He looks to the wall, before letting out an “Oh shit.” You look to the wall too, to see a whole bunch of lights flashing before your eyes. Like floors. Then it hit you.
It wasn’t a room. It was a goddamn elevator.

CHAPTER FOUR: DOES YOUR DAD GIVE YOU A CURFEW?
“Yeah, that’s a no,” Steve Harrington snapped, planting himself in the doorway. All the kids tried to peer around his body. The lights were still flickering chaotically in the Wheeler’s basement, giving everyone a headache. But instead, Steve challenged the girl’s stare—challenged her very authority she so selfishly claimed in a home that was not her own. Steve tried to command the threshold that this girl conquered in mere seconds.
The girl took a step forward, striding up on the doorframe. Only centimeters away from Steve, she looked up. Her chin almost brushed against his chest. “It’s not your call, is it?” She tilted her head to the side, gaze landing on Will. “It’s his.” The words that slid out of her mouth were thrilling, jolting electricity through the entire Party’s souls.
“Let her in,” Will gulped, standing up from where he was sitting on the floor. The rest of the Party peered up at him, the static of the walkie-talkies filling the atmosphere. Blood continued to gush out of Eleven’s nose, and she didn’t move to wipe it away. It was like she didn’t even know it was happening. Instead, some of it darkened, crusting over in the crevasse of Eleven’s upper lip. And the remainder of the blood gushed over the dried-up patches like water flooding the Grand Canyon.
Steve glared down at her, a sneer curling on his lips. Reluctantly, he stepped aside, but kept the bat strong in his grasp. The girl gave him a small, smug smirk in return, gliding through the threshold. That grin, that insufferable sneer lit a wrathful fire in Steve’s stomach. It so quickly got underneath his flesh—he had to resist the urge to peel off his skin and force that feeling out.

Hi I just finished reading Not yours with Steve Harrington and my heart 🤧, I was wondering if you could do a part 2 where Steve gets reader back and fluff 🤍
Love Always
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Harrington x female!reader
Warnings: Swearing, and fluff :)
Pronouns: She/her
A/n: I hope you enjoy this and thank you for requesting a part 2! It means a lot ♥️
Part 1 Part 2
It feels like years and years have gone by since Steve has seen you, but in reality it’s been a few months. He’s tried to avoid your spots like the mall, parks, video store, so he doesn’t run into you which was hard to do.
You on the other hand didnt try to avoid him, wanting to see how he is. Though Steve couldn’t handle to see you, it would break him, if he sees you he would run up to you and fall to his knees, beg for forgiveness. But he doesn’t want to do that, not for him but for you, you deserve better at least that’s what he thinks.
He’s actually gone by your house multiple times wanting to see you talked to you, so many times has he stood by your front door debating to knock your door. He never ended up having the nerve and just leaving.
~
Steve was hanging out with his friends at the mall those friends that you told him were not good for him, those friends that you told him made him someone he wasn’t, those friends that made him and asshole.
He couldn’t just drop them they are all he had now. You were all he had that mattered in his life and now you’re gone so he’s clinging on whatever he can so he won’t be alone, he can’t handle being alone and so more not right now.
Steve was so deep in his thoughts he didn’t mean to bump into someone but he did.
“Hey watch it!” I girl yelled as she walked away with a sour face and Steve softly apologizes, shaking his head trying to focus more and not daydream. He heard a laugh beside him and felt and arm drop around his shoulders pulling him in.
“Come on Steve! Stop being such a downer.” Tommy said as he smirks at Steve. Steve just chuckles not knowing what to say.
“Hey” Tommy whispers to Steve as he looks at Carol and Nicole who are walking in front of them talking to eachother. Steve simply answers with a “mhm?” “If you really want to get over that bitch just take Nicole .” Steve quickly furrows his brows and puts an angry face at the sound of the name calling Tommy just did to you. Though Tommy is too stupid to connect the dots and realize that Steve was uncomfortable and just continued to joke around. He chuckled and said “She’ll come back crawling to you, you know?” He continued blabbing his mouth.
Steve felt anger bubbling up and was clenching his teeth together. “And if she doesn’t it’s alright, she wasn’t all that anyways, she’s just another stupid bitch, you can get anyone else that’ll be better than her.” He laughs and pats Steve’s shoulder, his arm still hanging around him.
Steve then pushes him off which caught him off guard and fell. “Dude what the hell!”
With that the girls stopped walking and turned around facing them now.
“Tommy for once in your life shut your damn mouth!” Steve yells at him as he peers over, Tommy still on the ground.
“Hey Steve what’s your problem!” Carol joins in walking toward them and going next to Tommy helping him up.
“You’re all assholes that’s my problem!” He was finally starting to break. With all this ruckus going on there we’re people glancing at them and gossiping.
As Tommy got up he walked up to Steve “Are you serious right now man?” He said angrily at his face
“Yeah I’m serious you shouldn’t have said that!” Steve yelled at his face and pushed Tommy again, he stumbled back and seemed furious.
“You mean call her out for what she really is?” He growled while he flailed his arms out and nodded his head up. “That’s funny I don’t remember you asking me to stop.” He tilted his head to the side and shrugged his shoulders.
Steve clenched his teeth so tightly it felt as if they might shatter, his hands balling into fists as he dug his nails into his skin.
“I should’ve shoved my foot right up your ass” he gritted through clenched teeth
“What the hell Steve!” Carol once again tried to join in
Steve looked at her then Tommy with an annoyed face. “You know neither of you ever cared about her. You never even liked her, because she not miserable like you two. She is the opposite from what you guys are and a better person in so many ways you guys aren't.”
“A slut with a heart of gold!” Carol said sarcastically with a fake smile.
“I told you to watch your damn mouth!” Steve yelled as he pointed his finger at her.
“Hey!” Tommy pushes Steve back “I don’t know what’s gotten into you man but you don’t talk to her that way!” As soon as Steve was gonna say something a new voice joined in.
“Well someone has to.” Steve recognized your voice and swears he melted at the sound. Tommy also looked over with a mischievous smile and takes a step back from Steve “The famous y/n.”
Y/n looks to Tommy and Carol “I suggest you guys leave.” Carol steps towards you and says “Or what?”
You take a step closer to her “You think you’re some badasss chick? Or you need me to remind you what happened when you and your little friend group tried something on me huh?” You look her up and down.
She says nothing and bites the inside of her cheek turning away and standing beside Tommy.
Tommy then scoffs and looks at Steve “Pathetic.” He turned away to walk away. Steve got so fed up already that tiny word was just it to make him all riled up he stepped towards him ready to fight him until he felt someone grab his hand. He stopped and turned his head, it was you. “Don’t” you whisper
And all his anger washed away his shoulders relaxed and his hand wasn’t balled up in a fist anymore. You held his eye contact then looked at Tommy and Carol walk away with Nicole telling them to wait up for her. Steve followed your view of eyesight.
“You don’t need them anymore.” Y/n said as she reached her hand up to his chin turning him towards her. Everything inside of Steve that he kept hidden away, all the emotions came crashing down. You see his eyes water as you guys look at each other, your hand cups his cheek as your other one doesn’t let go of his hand.
Steve let’s put a soft sob his head dropping, putting his forehead to yours. He closes his eyes tears coming down his cheek. Your presence, your touch, your voice makes him crumble, he feels vulnerable with you and that’s okay.
You whisper to him “it’s okay” you read his mind, he wants to apologize but his throat is all closed up. He shook his head saying ‘no’ and he drops his head to the crook of your neck.
The hand that was on his cheek is now on the back of his head going up and down in a soothing matter.
“I’m sorry..” he finally got it out and wants to say it as many times as he can. He is clinging on to you for dear life, his arms wrapped around your body. “I’m so so so sorry.” He keeps repeating it and you keep saying “it’s okay.”
You let Steve cry in your arms. People around you already not caring about the scene you’re making.
In a few minutes you feel Steve’s head lift up and he looks at you with watery eyes. You reach up again and wipe the tears off his face, and you use both hands to brush away his hair from his face, dropping your hands to cup his face. He smiles a bit and tightens his arms that are around your waist. You smile back at him.
“Remember I’ll always love you.” Steve says with all sincerity.
You bring Steve closer to you, caressing his cheek. “And I love you.” Steve smiles and sees a tear roll down your cheek. “It’s okay..” he whispers and you slightly laugh. He kisses your cheek and you both go in for a kiss on the lips. Missing the feeling both of you want to stay there forever. You with your hands on his face try to bring him closer as if there were still space between you. When you broke apart Steve said. “You we’re right, I was an asshole, and I was an asshole to you.”
He put his hands on yours that were on his face and took them off, interlocking with both of them.
“But I’ll be better, because I have you.” He looks at you with such love and admiration. And you giggle, as you reach up to his face and started to plant kisses all over him. And he doesn’t protest, you then run off dragging him along with your hand on his.
“Where are we going?” He asks with a smile, “We’re gonna get ice cream!” You say as you hear him chuckle.
“Hey I was wondering what happened between you and Carol?” Steve asked as he remembered what you said to Carol about being a badass chick. You run faster to the ice cream shop and laugh. “I’ll tell ya when I get my ice cream!” Steve laughs at your actions and is happy with you.
He is happy, he is happy to be with you, to speak with you to have you again.

Part 1 Part 2
“Well what did you want me to say y/n?!?” Steve says as he closed his front door and threw his keys on the kitchen counter.
“I wanted you to defend them! Not just stand back and laugh at their faces like everyone else!” you follow Steve as he walks to his bedroom.
“Oh come on, I don’t know why you’re mad about this!” he stops in front of his bedroom door turning around to face you.
“It’s not just about this it’s about the other times that you just went along with the bullying and just being an asshole towards other people!” your eyes started to tear up, blurring your vision a little
“If I’m such an asshole then why are you with me?!” Steve shouted his voice cracking at the end.
“I fell in love with YOU, not Steve the king or Steve the hair Harrington. I fell in love with just Steve, my love. And every time you’re around Tommy H and Carol and those ‘popular’ kids you act like someone totally different! And I cannot stand around while you try to pretend someone you’re not just so those people will like you! I can’t just watch as you portray someone who is not my sweet caring Steve!” You cup his face softly with one hand feeling Steve's tears.
“Well I guess I’m not your Steve then.” He grabed your hand from his face with his, you felt his thumb rub your hand a bit and then he took your hand off of him. Leaving your arm at your side.
“I guess not. I really hope you don't end up like those idiots you call ‘friends’ because you’re too good of a person you just need to see it yourself.” You sniffled and wiped your tears with the back of your hand, you took a look at Steve and then turned away walking out of his house.

Fall | Steve Harrington
Tumblr media
hispanic!reader , readers favorite weather is fall, sweet Steve
Pronouns using: she/her,
Warnings: violence, Catcalling, racism, soft kisses, hand holding, lovesick, protective Steve.
It was fall the perfect season. Y/n just loved taking strolls and listening to her walkman, earbuds in and feeling the cool breeze sway her hair. And it’s exactly what she’s doing right now. Walking out of her home and seeing orange leaves everywhere, pumpkins set up in her neighbors porches faces cared into them. The strange smell of cold she smells when she breathes in gives her comfort.
Steve insisted on giving y/n a ride to school but y/n just kept declining him and saying she would rather walk to school. Though Steve chose to go pick her up in his car anyways even tough she didnt know that. As she was walking down the street on the side walk a car coming up behind her stopping on the stop sign. She could see the convertible with the top off 4 boys on it from high school, the popular crew that Steve used to hang out with. The only boy she knew in that group was Tommy.
She kept walking straight not looking at them, although she didnt want to even be near them she couldnt walk any other way. As she was walking she came near the car, all the boys turned their head. One of them whistiled at her, she pretended she didnt hear them since she had her earbuds in. She sped up her pace almost reaching the stop sign and then she can turn at the corner. "Hey sweetheart!" one of them yelled.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" "I bet she cant wait to go back to her country!" Y/n stopped her steps at that comment. "Hey come on man what the hell." She recognized Tommys voice says that.
"Oh so she can hear us?" Y/n turned around facing them now, trying not to looked pissed off.
There was another car coming down the street, Y/n didnt dare to move her eyes from them. Not responing back one of the boys decided to open their mouthg again.
"Oh wait she cant understand us, Hablas english?" He says in a joking manner not even being able to pronounce the word correctly.
All of them started laughing like little kids though Tommy looked like he wasnt enjoing this.
"Oh I understand perfectly, nomas estan como pinche pendejos aqui." All of them stopped trying hard not to look confused and looked at eachother trying to figure out what she said Tommy snickered at that.
"You understand that sweetheart?" Y/n smiled at them srcastically but that pissed them off.
"You think youre so smart you bitch?" when he finshed that sentence a car door was heard being slammed harshed behind them.
"I think you should watch your mouth asshole, dosent your mommy teach you manners?" You turn your head to see your beautiful boyfriend.
"Oh look if it isnt Steve Harrington sorry man i just found your bitch wondering around." and with that Steve launched himself at the boy that sits at the passanger seat and punched him square at the face. All the boys shouted with woahs but not daring to stop the fight wanting to see how it ends. Steve grabs his collar and drags him up to his face "Now youre gonna apoligoze to the pretty lady yeah? And make it sound heartfelt if not ill beat your ass right here right now infront of your little friend group, you got that?"
The boy nodded scared with his lip dripping with blood. Steve lets him go and walks over to you. "I-I'm very sorry ma'am forgive me for my horrible actions." the boy gulped and looked at Steve for a split second and the tunred around and looked at Tommy.
"Drive lets go." He told him, "Nah I think im enjoying this"
"Drive for gods sake!!" He says witha more panicked voice
And with that they were off, Steve turned to you and gave you the most loveable hug ever, he wrapped his arms over your shoulders, bringing your head to his chest and holding you like you were something fragile. You wrapped your arms around his waist and his chin resting on your head. You stayed there for a little while enjoying eachothers warmth.
When you separated you took your hands cupping his face with them and slightly made him looked down with you on his tippy toes, his eyes looking at you with so much love and a little smile he has dazed by you. You looked at him and got closer to his face and started to attack him with kisses all on his face not leaving one spot without a kiss. He didnt move letting you do it, letting out some giggles.
When you finished and pulled back "I love you" you said
"And I love you more." Steve said now arms in your hips and yours on his chest. "I dont think thats possible"
"Okay well it is come on now were gonna be late" Steve said walking towards his car holding you hand. "Were still not finished with this coversation," you pouted jokingly
"Get in the car amor." Steve open the car door for you and you blushed at the nickname.
You get in without a complaint when he gets in the car on the drivers seat he says "I'm always walking with you from now on." he grabs your hand and you look at him and smile
" I guess..." You roll your eyes and sigh in a joking manner.

Escape You | Part One
Tumblr media
Chapter One:
Suzie, Do You Copy?
summary: it’s a normal day at StarCourt Mall until you discover one of Hawkins dark secrets.
warnings: cursing
notes: omfg I had to rewrite this :( anyway this chapter isn’t even that good, but welcome to this series! also if you want to be taken off the tag list just tell me cause I’m just gonna keep tagging all of you for each part lol.
——————
1985
Ah, the StarCourt Mall. The newest establishment of Hawkins Indiana. You had started working there earlier that summer. You only started working there to earn enough money to visit your best friend in New York. So far, the pay was decent. You worked in a woman’s clothing store across from the famous ice cream parlor, Scoops Ahoy.
That’s the only thing you hated about working at the mall. It was the fact that you had to see Steve Harrington’s face everyday. It wasn’t like you wanted to either. Every time, you looked up there he was, wearing that stupid sailors uniform with that stupid hat.
You honestly didn’t even hate Steve for any particular reason. Well, he was an asshole, and that’s why most people hated him. You just hated the idea of him. You hated the idea of running your hands through his perfect hair. Or kissing his flushed soft lips. Or walking around with him, your hands closed together, as he tried to smitten you with his pickup lines. God, you hated him.
“(y/n)!” The shouts of your name brought you out of your Steve loathed daydream. It was the all to familiar shouts of your coworker, Sarah. Sarah was younger than you by a year. She was a senior in high school. She only worked here because of her mother, who was the owner of the store. She hated her job, and you hated that you had to work with her. You hated Sarah too. But in her cause, there were a million things to hate her for. She was just simply a bitch.
Your eyes widened when they came familiar to the darkened room. “We’re closing already?” You asked. Sarah scoffed at you, “No, the power went out.” You can hear the annoyance lacing from her voice. “God (y/n), I was calling your name for the past five minutes. Are you deaf or something!” You rolled your eyes. “This daydreaming crap is getting out of hand. What if there was a costumer waiting and you blew the sale!” You could hear her favorite black boots pacing along the white tiled floor.
Suddenly, there was a slight bang, then a groan, Sarah’s angerd voice coming next, “God dammit! When is the power gonna come back on!?”
You leaned against the counter, your elbows laying against the surface. You rubbed your temples stressfully. God you hated working with her. “Can you relax? I’m sure the power will come back on soon”
As if right on cue, the once dark room gleamed with light. You looked over to Sarah to tell her ‘I told you so’ but you stifled a laugh at the image you saw infront of you. Sarah was on the tiled floor. Two of the white mannequins were sprawled along the floor, one of them actually on top of Sarah. Your mouth covered your amused smile. “Shut up” Sarah groaned to you, attempting to get off of the floor, which just made you laugh harder.
——————
You watched as Steve Harrington flirted with some girls at the counter. You tried to hold back a scoff. You heard the back doors of the shop open and watched as Sarah strutted out, your store uniform on. It was a maroon T-shirt with the stores name with dark pants. This meant your shift was over.
You gave a breath of relief, beginning to quickly pack your things to go on your lunch break. You had to at least get your mind off of Steve for an hour. Sarah took your spot at the counter. “Geez, why are you in such a hurry? I thought you liked the counter job. You get a great view of Harrington.”
What she said made you almost drop your bag. You turned to her muttering out an, “W, What?” Were you that obvious? Was the staring becoming to much? Sarah scoffed, “Oh come on, I see you staring at Harrington all the time” a clever smirk coverd her featured. “I can go talk to him for you, if you want?”
You shook your head rapidly, “No, no no. I don’t like him.” Sarah stared at you with her head to the side, like she was debating weather or not she should believe you. She shrugs, “Whatever you say (y/n).” She looks forward, towards the ice cream parlor again. “But I will say, I don’t blame you for looking.”
You look to the ice cream shop. Steve Harrington stood at the counter, but this time with the white sailors hat off. His beautiful brown locks out for the world to see. The voluminous hair seemed to curl and bounce against his forehead. Your lips were caught between your teeth and you could feel your face heating up. God did you want to run your hands through that hair.
Sarah stared at you at the counter. She watched as your eyes lit up when you saw him and she watched as you bit your lip and your face reddened. She cleared your throat, which earned your attention. She smirked widely, “You were saying?”
You quickly bolted out of the shop, wanting to die from embarrassment.
——————
On your car ride home, you sulked in the drivers seat, feeling tired from today. Thank god when you returned back to the store, Sarah’s shift was over. God, you felt so stupid. She caught you gawking over him. Literally, gawking! You wanted to bang your head onto the steering wheel for being so stupid.
You pulled up to a stoplight. You huffed, leaning back in your seat, waiting for the light to flash green. All you wanted to do was go home and sleep. A car pulls up next to you, blasting some loud rock music. You look over but immediately look away. It’s Steve fucking Harrington. His hands slam against the steering wheel, beating along with the music. His head bops along to the beat, a curl skimming his forehead every so often. A smile rested on his face as he sang along to the song. He looked good, really good.
You occasionally looked his way, but stopped when you realized what you were doing. Maybe Sarah was right. The staring was getting a little out of hand. You sighed, and decided to just try and stare out your side of the window until the damn light turned green.
Couldn’t he just go away! You weren’t even at work and here he was. You couldn’t escape him.
The light flashed green and you watched as Steve drove away down the street. You heard a honk from behind you and quickly stepped on the gas, muttering out multiple “sorry’s.”
Before you knew it you were home. You shut off your car and walked into your house, you threw your keys on the kitchen counter. You stopped when you saw a note written on the kitchen table. You leaned over, reading the letter.
Hey hon! Sorry I couldn’t be home to say goodbye to you in person, but my flight was at 2. Anyway, there is a bunch of leftover’s in the fridge, and I left you twenty dollars on the fridge to order pizza one night. Remember to take out the trash. I love you! See you in a week. - Mom.
You sighed. You forgot your mom was going on a business trip for a week. You had the whole house to yourself. To bad you didn’t have friends, otherwise you would’ve thrown a party or something. You did as you were told, walking over to the trash can.
You took the black bag out with a huff before walking to the back door. Your street was mostly dark, the only light coming from one of your neighbors porches. Ms. Driscoll’s house. You loved the woman. She made the best cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade.
With a huff, you managed to put the garbage into the pail without a problem. After wiping your hands together, you started to make your way back inside.
However, you stopped when you heard a screeching noise. It was faint but can still be heard. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, before you followed the noise. You prayed that if wasn’t a broken tire or a broken pipe. You followed the noise which led you to the back of your house. The sight that you saw made you frown.
A rat laid on the green grass. It was a small gray one. It’s body flailed rapidly, the screeching became more painful with every thrash. You moved closer, before kneeling before it. “What’s wrong little guy?” You mumbled out softly.
Suddenly, it gave one final loud scream before exploding before you. It’s guts, red and pink, scattered out along the grass.
Your eyes widened and your mouth fell agape. You let out a scream before bolting to your house, opening the back door, and slamming it closed. You leaned against it, a hand to your chest, trying to catch your breath. What the hell was that?!

Escape You | Part Two
Tumblr media
Chapter Two:
The Mall Rats
Steve Harrington x reader
summary: Steve asks you a simple favor, and it’s nothing like you’ve ever imagined.
warnings: cursing, mention of sex
notes: finally we get some Steve in this chapter. Let’s get this series rollin! And thanks so much for the nice feedback 💖
———————————
“So, it was a rat?” Sarah’s eyebrows were practically raised to her hairline. “Yes, Yes! And then it just exploded, into like, like a red mush” you paused, shivering, “it was disgusting”
Your face then brightens up again, remembering something else, “Also, another thing!” You raised a finger in the air. Sarah nodded her head, urging you on. This was just sheer comedy to her now. “When I woke up...it was gone” your voice was low.
Sarah pauses for a long time. “Were you daydreaming again?” Your eyebrows furrowed, “What no,” Sarah cut you off, “It’s either that or you’re on drugs” You shook your head rapidly. “I think you’re on drugs” Sarah said, convinced.
You rolled your eyes. “No, No. I saw it with my own eyes” you tapped your temple wildly with your pointer finger. It was then you realized that your hand was grabbed on Sarah’s shoulder roughly. Her eyes were wide, and she seemed to look at you in fright. You jolted your hand away. Were you going crazy?
“Okay. . .” Sarah drawed out awkwardly. You rub a hand across your face and sigh.
Two girl teenagers enter the store. Sarah basically sighs in relief. Anything to get her out of this situation. “I’m gonna actually go do my job. Be ready at the counter” She then walked off. You scoffed, walking to the counter. You looked over at Scoops Ahoy.
You saw Robin, another one of the workers at the ice cream parlor, attending Erica Sinclair at the counter. You only knew Erica because you used to babysit her when you were still in high school. Ya know, a little more cash went a long way. You always thought she was hilarious, she had a lot of personality for her age.
However, in Robins cause, you didn’t really know her deal. After weeks of observing, she was pretty normal. Every once and awhile you saw her take out this whiteboard with two sides titled, You Rule and You Suck. The one side, You Suck, had seven tally’s on it. You always wondered what that board was for.
Something struck your eye again. Steve Harrington, came from the back of Scoops. He seemed in a rush, he took off his hat, rubbed his hands through his hair, and then put the hat back on. He exited the ice cream parlor, heading straight to your store . . . to you.
Your eyes widened, your heart hammered against your chest. No, it can’t be. Maybe he would turn, go another way, into another store. But he didn’t. Your mind raced with possibilities. What could he want? What would he say? What would you say?
Could he want to buy something? You mentally shook her head. No, idiot, this was a Woman’s clothing store.
Before you had time to think of something else, there he was, standing before you. His hand slammed hard against the counter. You jolted slightly.
“Hi” he breathed out. Your eyebrows furrowed. That was it? You expected something more dramatic. But it was nothing, just a simple greeting. Was he trying to start conversation with you? “Hi?” You answered back. You didn’t mean for it to come out as a question, but it did. What the hell did he want?
“Do, do you remember me?” He pointed to himself, still panting wildly. You were confused, why was he panting so loud? Scoops Ahoy was literally like a few feet away. When you didn’t answer, Steve spoke up again. “I’m Steve. We went to the same high school together. We had the same Chemistry class.”
Of course you remembered him. The weird thing was, that he remembered you. You were a nobody in high school. You hung out with a small crowd, until most of your friends decided to ditch you, and your closest and best friend moved to New York. After that you had no one, and you basically hung out with no one. Maybe that was why you were so observant. It seemed that everyone else’s lives were somehow more interesting then yours.
“Yea...” you answered with a nod. You still didn’t understand. Why was he here, asking you these random questions about high school. You hated talking about high school, let alone talk about it with Steve fucking Harrington.
“Great! Great!” He laughed, breathlessly. It was a cute sound, and you held back the urge to smile. “Uhh,” He trails off. His face is twisted in concentration. His elbows rested on the table, and he smacked his palms against his forehead a few times. “You’re name, You’re name. Goddamn it, what’s your name?” He mumbled under his breath.
Considering you two were inches apart you heard him. “(Y/N)” you spoke your name aloud. Steve jolts up, slamming his hand on the counter again. He points to you, “(Y/N)! Yes! Yes!”
Your eyes widen. Was he always so energetic? In high school he just seemed like your chill, hot popular kid. He didn’t get the nickname King Steve for nothing. You held back the urge to smile again. God he was adorable.
He then relaxes, leaning his elbows on the counter comfortably. “(Y/N)” he repeats your name again. It sounded nice coming from his mouth. He scoffs, “Yea I knew that”
You snickered, smiking brightly. You couldn’t help it. Steve, noticing your smile, smiles back. “Do you still speak Russian?” The question came out so nonchalantly, that you thought about asking him to repeat himself.
Yes, you spoke Russian, but not fluently. It was a hard language to learn, considering they had a whole different alphabet. But one of your close friends (who had moved to New York) spoke fluent Russian. Her parents were immigrants, and often spoke the language in their home. She has tried to teach you but you only had the patience to learn the alphabet. After that you stopped, it was stressful. But you could understand some of it.
“Yea. How, how did you know I could speak Russian?” You were generally curious. No one really knew expect your friend and maybe your Mom. And no one else really cared to ask.
“One day in Chem, there was a new exchange student. He was a new immigrant, and only knew Russian. You willingly sat next to him, and translated everything for him.”
You smiled at him. You had remembered that day. To be honest, you felt bad for the new kid. He didn’t have friends or know anybody, and on top of that couldn’t speak English! You had to do something. For the rest of the class you just translated things for him and made sure he understood the lesson. You didn’t know Steve was paying attention.
“It was really inspirational actually” he smiled. You blushed madly, taking a strand of hair and pushing it behind your hair bashfully. You were never complimented, let alone by anyone like Steve.
“What do you want, Harrington?” You said through smiled teeth. “Just a simple favor. I need you to help translate Russian for me and my friend”
“Translate?” You asked. Steve nodded, “Yea, ya know? Like a recording in Russian will play and all you need to do is tell us what it says” Steve then shrugged. You tilted your head to the side. The task was simple. Beyond simple. “Can you do that?” Steve asked.
You nodded frantically, “Yea. I, I can”
Steve jumped again, eyes wide, like he was suprised you had said yes. “Great! That’s great” He motions you to move, “C’mon, let’s go!”
Your eyes widen, “Like right now?” Steve nods frantically, the motion for you to move dramatically increasing. “Ok” you quickly moved from around the counter, following after him.
He grabs you by the arm, giving you little pep in your step. Your eyes widen. Usually with things like this you would pull your arm away, but, it felt nice.
Whilst leaving the store, Sarah turns, looking to you in utter confusion. It did look weird, Steve Harrington was literally dragging you out of the store. God, she probably thought you two were off to have sex or something.
She smirks, and gives you two thumbs up. You roll your eyes before flashing her the finger.
Once in Scoops, Steve rushed to the back, his shoulder pushing open the swinging door. When you enter, Robin stood, along with a young teenage boy at a table. On the table, was a recorder and a forgien translater novel. The recording played, a man speaking Russian.
“Steve! What the hell!” The boy shouted, frantically turning off the recording. Steve finally let go of your arm before puffing out an aggravated sigh. “What?” He asks simply.
“She’s a stranger! Why would you bring a stranger in here? Don’t you wanna be American heroes?!” The kid spoke quickly, a slight lisp escaping through every sentence.
“She’s not a stranger, okay? She’s here to help” Steve then turns to you, “This is Dustin” he points to the young teenager, who let out a mumbled, “hello”.
“And this is my coworker, Robin” he points to Robin, who is leaning against the wall, arms crossed. She smiles at you, giving a wave. “This is (y/n)” he points back to you. You wave at them.
Dustin is quick to speak up, leaning closer to you from his seat, like he’s judging you. “So how is she gonna help us?”
“I can understand Russian” you said. Dustin suddenly perks up. “Holy shit, really?” he asks.
Steve nods, “Told you she can help” he snickers out. “Well what are you waiting for? Play the tape, dingus” Robin said to Dustin. She then leans over and attempts to play it, but Dustin stops her hand.
“Wait!” He looks back to you, “If she’s gonna help us, she needs to know what she’s getting herself into”
Your eyebrows furrow. You didn’t want to cause trouble, all you thought you were doing was translating some words. You look to Steve.
He sighs, “Ok, fine. Tell her”
Dustin begins to tell his story, “So last night, I was trying to contact my girlfriend Suzie through a radio I made. However, when I was trying to contact her, I interrupted a secret Russian communication”
“Now,” He points to you, “That’s when you come into play. All you need to do is translate this for us”
Steve steps forward, looking to you, “You in?”
You look to each of them, Steve, Robin, then Dustin. You thought about it for a minute. What was the harm in helping them? Maybe after, you’d all become True Americans Heroes, and you would be noticed by people other then your best friend and your mom.
You smirked, turning to look at Steve, “I’m in”
——————
You sat at the table, replaying the Russian tape over and over again. It wasn’t that it was difficult, it was because it didn’t make any damn sense.
You frantically looked to the alphabet words written on the white board on the wall. The sentence translated, “The week is long”
Dustin burst through the door, “You got anything yet?” You sighed. You had forced everyone out the room, you didn’t work well under pressure. “Yea actually. We got our first sentence.”
Steve and Robin quickly poked there heads in through the sliding glass doors to your side. “Really?” Steve asked. Robin was ecstatic, smiling brightly, “What is it!?” She asked excitedly.
“The week is long” You stated back in a Russian accent. Steve and Dustin’s faces fell in disappointment. “Well, that’s very exciting” Dustin stated sarcasticly, running an unamused hand over his face.
“Relax dingus’s. It’s only the first sentence. Maybe by the end of the day, whatever (y/n) translates out will make sense” Robin covered for you. You smiled to her, greatfully. No one has ever stuck up for you like that.
“We’ll leave you alone so you can get back to work” Steve said. Your face scrunched up and you nodded. The three of them left quickly.
A few hours later, Steve, Robin, and Dustin looked infront of the white board, reading out what you had translated. “The week is long. The silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west” They all spoke in unison.
“I mean, it just can’t be right” Steve stated as he closed up Scoops Ahoy. “It’s right” you said with a shrug from behind him.
The four of you started walking down the closed mall. It was strange seeing the mall empty. Good thing it was always Sarah who had to close up, you hated being alone at this hour.
“Honestly I think it’s great news” Dustin said. You looked at him suprised, this was the first time he looked on the bright side of things all day. “How is this great news!” Steve jogged up to the three of you, he scoffed, “I mean, so much for being American hero’s. It’s total nonsense.”
Steve was right. The sentence didn’t make any sense. And if it was a code, how would they be able to figure it out?
“It’s not nonsense” Dustin objected. “It’s too specific. It’s obviously a code” You nodded, what else would it be?
“What do you mean a code?” Steve asked from next to you. “Like a secret spy code” You shrugged, “There evil Russian’s right? You don’t know what there planning”
Steve scoffed again, “That’s a total stretch” Robin spoke up, “I don’t know, is it?” Steve looked to her in disbelief. “You’re buying into this?” He pointed at her with raised eyebrows. “Listen, just for kicks, let’s entertain the possibility that it is a secret Russian transmission. What’d you think they were gonna say, “Fire the warhead at noon?”
You snickered at her comment. “Exactly” Dustin agreed. Robin continued, “And (y/n)’s translation is correct” You nodded along with her, “I know that for sure” you stated confidentially.Steve smiled at you.
“The silver cat feeds. Why would anyone talk like that unless they’re trying to mask the meaning of their message” Robin said with a convincing shrug. “Exactly” Dustin said again. “Why would anyone mask the true meaning of their message unless the message was somehow sensitive!” Robin made another point. You glanced at her and smiled, she was insanely smart.
“Exactly” Dustin said for the third time, looking directly at Steve this time. Steve rolled his eyes, mimicking Dustin by pursing his lips and mouthing the word ‘exactly.’ You giggled. “So I guess that confirms your suspicion” Robin glances to you and Dustin.
“Evil Russians” You and Dustin say together in a ‘duh’ tone. Robin chuckles, “I can’t believe I’m about to agree with them, but, yeah, totally evil Russians.”
“So how do we crack it?” Dustin looks to you this time, a hopeful glimmer overcoming his freatures. You shrug, “I’ll translate the rest tomorrow and hopefully a better pattern emerges” you state simply.
“A pattern. Right, like maybe “silver cat” is a meeting place?” Dustin offers. Robin cuts in, “Or a person?” Dustin points to her, “Or a weapon”. You shake your head and sigh, “It could be anything”
“It’s probably gonna take a super genius to crack it, but...” Robin trails off looking behind her. You and Dustin do the same. You’re eyebrows furrow. “Where’s Steve?” You ask.
Steve stood by the Indiana Flyer horse ride, frantically digging out coins from his pocket. Some fall to the floor, making a clattering noise. “Steve? What are you doing?” Robin calls out. He finally looks over to the three of you, counting the coins in his palm. “Uh, it’s a quarter. I need...Do you have a quarter?”
The three of you walk over to him. You fish in your back pocket, before retrieving a quarter. You give it to Steve and your fingers touch. “Thank you” he mumbles. “Sure you’re tall enough for that ride?” Robin jokes, nudging your side. You chuckle slightly.
Steve kneels down to the floor, quickly putting the coins inside the rides slot collecter. You, Robin and Dustin watch anxiously. What the hell was he doing?
The all to famous Daisy Bell jingle begins to play from the ride and the small horse starts to rock forward then backward. “You need help getting up, little Stevie?” Robin then joked again. “Shhh” He scowls back at her, clearing knowing something the three of you didn’t.
You and Dustin look at each other and begin to chuckle. Steve shushes you again, “Would you three just shut up and listen?”
So you did. The Daisy Bell jingle continued. You didn’t understand, why was he making you listen to this? What was the point. Suddenly you come to the realization that the Daisy Bell jingle was heard from the recording you’ve been trying to translate for the past few hours. “Holy shit” you said in shock.
Dustin must of recognized too, because he wore the same shocked expression on his face. He looked at you then back to the rocking horse. “The music.” He pointed at the horse before whipping around his backpack and opening one of the pockets. “The music!”
He retrieved the recorder and pressed play. The man spoke Russian for a second before the same Daisy Bell jingle emerged from the tape. The same jingle that was playing infront of them. You and Steve exchanged a look. What could this mean?
“I don’t understand?” Robin said with a shake of her head. “It’s the exact same song from the recording” you stated breathlessly looking from the recorder to the rocking horse. “Maybe they have horses like this in Russia” Robin persuaded. You shook your head.
“Indiana Flyer? I don’t...” Steve trailed off, shaking his head. “I don’t think so. This code, it... didn’t come from Russia”. You saw his expression change, like he realized something horrific. He turned to the three of you, “It came from here”
The four of you exchanged scared looks before looking back to the white rocking horse, the Daisy Bell jingle playing in the background.

Escape You | Part Three
Tumblr media
Chapter Three:
The Case of the Missing Lifegaurd.
Steve Harrington x reader
summary: after cracking the Russian code, You, Dustin, Steve and Robin finally discover the Evil Russians.
warnings: cursing
notes: this chapter is short oops
——————
You sat in the back of Scoops Ahoy, translating the rest of the Russian that was being displayed from the recording. You had gotten another sentence in. “A trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly.”
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair. Again, it made no damn sense. You were also thinking of what Steve and Dustin were up too. They had left an hour before, stating that they were going to try and find some Evil Russians. You had wanted to come along, so they wouldn’t do anything stupid, but you knew you had to stay to finish the translation. Robin was nice enough to stay behind and keep you company.
You got up, tapping upon the glass sliding window that separated the back from the official ice cream parlor. Robin appeared. “I got another sentence” you smiled.
You handed her the little notepad you had been writing on. “The week is long. The silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west. A trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly.” She reads aloud. Her eyebrows furrow at the last sentence.
Before you both could say anything, an echo from the door in the back causes you and Robin to look behind you. She scoffs in annoyance. “What’s that?” You ask.
“Delivery” She explains bluntly. You move out of the way so she can swing through the glass windows. She hurried over to the door, you following.
“Delivery for you” the man on the other side explains, handing Robin a brown box. Thank you” She hands the box to you, to which you place on the table.
The man wore a black shirt and pants with sliver bottoms going along the front. He also wore a matching hat with the word, ‘Lynx’ written in red. He takes out a pen from his shirt pocket, and takes out a clipboard with paper on it. Robin signs it.
You also notice, above the pocket on his shirt displayed the words, ‘Lynx Transportation”
Lynx. The image of a lynx popped into your head. Lynx had silver fur. Your eyes widened. Silver cat.
“Have a nice day” He stated to Robin. Her eyes stay fixated on his hat. She knows as well. “Yeah, you too” The man turns and leaves, pushing a red cart with multiple boxes in it. You and Robin exchange a knowing look, before following him out in the hallway.
On the back of his shirt, said the words “Lynx Transportation” again, with a design of a Lynx above it. The drawing displayed in a silver color.
You and Robin look to each other in astonishment. “Silver Cat” you both whisper out in unison.
Before you can say anything else, a lightbulb seems to click in Robins head. She dips to the front. You followed behind her. What the hell was she doing?
Dustin and Steve enter the ice cream parlor, a defeated look on both their faces. “You’re not gonna believe who Dustin thought was a Russian” Steve began to say to the both of you. Robin ignored him, sliding past both of them, and outside the shop.
Robin finds a bench outside and stands on it frantically looking around. Steve looks to you, trying to ask what she was doing. You shook your head and shrugged. You had no idea. The three of you quickly followed her.
“A trip to China sounds nice” Robin looks to a Chinese food place a few feet away. “If you tread lightly” She then looks to a shoes store a floor above them. “When blue and yellow meet in the west” She looks around before stoping at the large mall clock. The smaller hand was blue and the larger one was yellow, they both were pointed in the west.
You had caught on at this point. You chuckled in surprise. Robin cracked the damn code.
“What is she doing?” Steve asked aloud. “She cracked it” you shook your head in amazement. Steve looked to you in confusion, “Cracked what?”
Suddenly Robin jumps down infront of the three of you, “I cracked the code.”
——————
You, Dustin, Steve and Robin sat in the pouring rain spying upon Evil Russians. This was what your life had come to now. You sat next to Dustin, and he handed you his binoculars. You greatfully excepted them, putting them up to your eyes. All you saw was two men, dressed in all black, standing infront of a building. There hands were behind their backs, holding something.
A truck drove in before them. “Look for Imperial Panda and Kaufman Shoes” Robin reminded all of you. You nodded.
You handed the binoculars back Dustin. He put them up to his face. You moved your soaking wet hair away from your eyes. Of course the only time you brought a jacket without a hood was today. You looked over at Steve, it looks like he had the same idea, his usually voluminous brown locks were drenched and was stuck to his forehead and temple. He somehow still managed to look attractive.
He noticed your staring and looked to you. You quickly turned your head away, a blush coated your cheeks. Once again, you were eye - gawking.
But what you didn’t see was Steve smirking gaze still upon you. He moved some hair out of his eyes.
A whistling guy wearing yellow emerged from a door, pushing a cart with two box’s. The brands Imperial Panda and Kaufman shoes displayed along the front of them.
“There with that whistling guy, ten o’clock” Dustin said quickly. You snapped your head towards that direction. “What do you think’s in there?” Steve asked through squinted eyes.
“Guns, Bomb’s maybe?” You answered back over the loud rain. “Chemical weapons?” Dustin and Robin added on in unison. “Whatever it is, they’re armed to the teeth” Dustin replied.
You look back to the men dressed in black. They were armed now, a large black gun pointed directly towards the ground. You shivered, but you didn’t know if it was from the rain or the fear of being shot. Possibly both.
The sound of thunder whipped through the area. You jolted. “Great. That’s great” Steve spoke sarcastically, wiping water from his eyes. You looked again. One of the men opened the two gray doors with a keycard. The guy in the yellow started walking into what looked like a room.
“Hey, What’s in there?” Robin asked Dustin. Dustin shrugged, “It’s just more boxes.” Steve reaches over, grabbing Dustin’s binoculars, “Let me check it out”
Dustin retreated them back, shaking his head at him. “No, I’m still looking.” Steve scoffed, tugging on them again, “Lemme see it!”
With one final tug, Dustin retrieved his binoculars back, but it hit the metal pole beneath them. A thud ran through the area. The men looked around, raising their guns. “Duck!” Dustin said. The four of you ducked behind the concert wall. “Shit” you mumbled, biting your thumb nail anxiously.
The four of you panted wildly. You look over to see Robin and Steve holding hands. Your heart drops. You look away sorrowly. Even though you would never admit it aloud, you wished that was you and him.
Dustin looked to your distressed face, and then back to Steve and Robin’s enclosed hands. His face fell into a blank stare. Did you like Steve?
You, Dustin, Steve and Robin escaped the roof before the Russians can see you. The four of you rushed down a gray hallway, looking behind you ever so often. You can’t believe that had happened to you. This is the most thrill you’ve ever experienced in your life.
“Well I think we found your Russians” Robin stated, looking to each of you. Yep, you definitely did.

Summary: You always hated Steve Harrington, but one day when he asks you a simple favor, your world is turned upside down and you learn the deep secrets Hawkins provides.
————————
Heyy! This is a little sneak peak for my Steve Harrington fanfic I was talking about. The fanfic is called, “Escape You”.
Everything that occurs through the series is based on Season 3 of Stranger Thing. So, there will definitely be spoiler’s!
I have finished writing the first chapter, and am ongoingly writing the second chapter. Each chapter, is based off each episode of Season Three. So there will possibly be eight parts, maybe even with an epilogue!
Once I have at least written 3 chapters then I will start to post the chapters!
Also I am very self aware that everything that happens with the monsters is taken place in 1985 and not 1984.
I’m so excited for this series, and I hope you guys are too! If you want to be apart of the tag list, comment and ask!

Chapter Five of Daughter of Death (my Steve Harrington Fanfiction) is out now!
Want to read the rest? Go to https://archiveofourown.org/works/20086411/chapters/48304147 but here’s a sneak peak at the chapter! Next week it is the battle sequence so stuff is building!
CHAPTER FIVE: OH SHIT
“I’m calling bullshit.” Steve stood over the rest of the Party, who were huddled over Mike’s D&D board. That had destroyed their recent campaign, laying out all their information about Rhrogon and his supernatural children all over the table. All but Eleven studied the D&D playbook; she was huddled on the couch, knees brought to her chest. “There’s no way this girl is the daughter of death—of some made up God by your board game. She’s just some psychopath.”
Dustin jerked to Steve, disbelief scattered across his face. “Steve, name one time D&D has been wrong.”
The eldest boy became flustered, running a hand through his hair. He opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it multiple times. It was like his thoughts were running at a mile a minute and Steve was unable to keep up with them. “But you can understand how ridiculous this all sounds?”
Joyce, who had run downstairs after the epidemic with Darcy, her chin resting on the top of Will’s bowl cut. His face was still incredibly pale, goosebumps erecting over his flesh. “After my son being trapped in an alternate dimension, demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, and the Soviets trying to reopen the gate, the daughter of some supernatural God isn’t the craziest thing that could be happening.”

Stranger Things: Daughter of Death Fanfiction Chapter One: Flicker Flicker
Hey guys! I just uploaded my first fanfiction on archiveofourown.com! It is a Stranger Things fan fiction with Steve Harrington and a character of my own creation. Down below I have copied the first chapter so you can get a sneak peak on this platform! If you like it, you can check out the second chapter on my archiveofourown page (reylorowaelin)! Here’s the link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20086411/chapters/47575000
Summary: Set in the fall after the third season of Stranger Things, while Eleven and the Byers family are visiting for Thanksgiving a new supernatural being enters Hawkins, with new powers that the Party haven't witnessed. Unaware of this mysterious girl's abilities, motive, and past, Steve Harrington is assigned to keep an eye on her. And as she becomes a bigger and a more dangerous threat, it is up to Steve to protect the Party. As more adversaries come into play, it is up to Steve to get the supernatural girl to become their ally in order to save Hawkins a couple more times.
Chapter One: Flicker Flicker
The Starcourt mall was almost empty. Every shop was closed, the metal gates glistening in the neon lights. It even flickered against the pearly tile floor, freshly cleaned by the janitorial staff just fifteen-minutes ago. The maddening, generic music that annoyed every mall employee was finally silenced, leaving Starcourt to succumb to a haunting quietness. Even with the heat on, the entire building was colder.
The icy chill swept goosebumps across Eleven’s tan skin—Hopper’s flannel couldn’t even keep her warm. It caused the brown hairs dancing across her arm to pause, no longer swaying to the humming of Steve Harrington’s favorite song. Instead, they became alert, aware. Eleven didn’t know if it was the cold of the ice cream parlor or of the hollowness of the mall that caused her heart to thump irregularly.
She balled her fists, pulling them underneath her orange and brown sleeves, barrowing further into the red leather booth. Steve, who had taken off that ridiculous hat and shoved it in his duffle bag, had pulled a black hoodie over his head, messing up his infamous hair. But he just ran his fingers through his chocolate locks at an attempt to add some sort of order to the chaos, really working his shoulder deeper into the canister of strawberry ice cream.
“How do I look?” Robin Buckley burst out from the swinging doors at Scoops Ahoy. Her tone was wrecked with nerves, stumbling over the rather simple sentence. Her fingers fiddled with her long tan cardigan, dragging it over her red tank top. Robin kept tugging up her loose jeans, the brown belt doing little to keep them upright.
Steve briefly glanced at Robin before plopping the last scoop of strawberry ice cream into the waffle cone. “You’ll be fine, Buckley,” he responded, completely dodging her question. Steve let out a slight grunt as he shut the cover to the ice cream canister closed, pressing his elbow against the top. “As long as you’re your usual, charming, irritating self I’m sure Mellie Fitzgerald is gonna love you.” Steve offered her a sarcastic smile, cupping his cheek with the palm of his hand.
Robin frowned, puckering her burgundy smeared lips. Waltzing forward, she tipped the top of Eleven’s strawberry cone into Steve’s face as she snapped, “you’re a real grade-A douchebag, you know that dingus?”
The teenager rolled his chocolate eyes, pushing himself off of his elbow. Grasping Robin’s shoulders, he shook her slightly, forcing her to look at him. “You’re gonna be fine, Buckley,” Steve said softly. He turned, peering past Eleven and towards the exit of Starcourt. “Go, leave for your date. We can pack up here.”
Robin let out a little groan, biting her bottom lip in between her teeth. She seemed to be having an internal struggle, smoke nearly coming out of her ears. “Fine,” she grumbled, stepping away from Steve and slinging her own duffle bag over her arm.
Eleven and Steve stayed silent as Robin scattered off, letting the taciturnity linger between them. The older boy took a towel, wiping the rest of the strawberry ice cream off his face, licking some off his finger. Eleven, who was only back in Hawkins for Thanksgiving break, chipped her over-grown fingernails against the wooden table. Earlier that day they’d been painted black by Max, claiming it was a look that suited El’s…unique personality.
But the black reminded her too much of the other place…of that realm. And of the waves that crashed along the Californian shores, the violent slapping of flesh on flesh, the cries of a terrified but very pretty women—
El?
But then the muteness of an abandoned child. The blackness reminded Eleven of her skin getting wet with tears that were not her own and were salty like the waves of the west coast. And then anger—anger consumed the endless void and that antagonism would transpire into wrath that wrapped itself around Eleven’s bones, tangled within her muscles, plagued in her blood. But it was not her own rage, no it was foreign and far bigger than herself. And she couldn’t control it, it just overtook her like fear—
Eleven?
And then she couldn’t breathe, it was like the darkness gripped her throat, dragging its claws through her vocal cords. But she couldn’t scream or maybe she could, but no one heard her. She was trapped, isolated in an oblivion that Eleven wasn’t sure she’ll ever escape from—
“Eleven!” Steve shouted, leaning across the table, grabbing her face in between his hands. They were warm, unlike the goosebumps erected across her bone chamber, unlike the blackness, unlike the delicious ice cream that was now so close to her face. “Are you alright?”
Eleven finally broke free of her trance, her vision unblurring. She leaned back, disconnecting their touch. “Yes,” she replied simply, taking the ice cream cone. “Yes.”
Steve scrunched his brows together, leaning back in the booth. He slung his arm over the ledge of the chair, using his other hand to yank a bunch of napkins out of the container, sliding them over to Eleven. She only paused, peering up at him. Then, she took one, wiping a chunk of strawberry from the corner of her mouth. “Where is Robin going?”
He sighed, turning his head to the door that Robin had rushed out of nearly five minutes ago. Steve was tired, oh so tired, too exhausted to even rub the bags underneath his orbs. He had worked a twelve-hour shift, coming in earlier than he was supposed to so he could calm Robin’s nerves for her date with Mellie. And he had barely slept at all in the past three months, for every time he came home he was welcomed to his father’s bellows—the same sound that haunted his dreams.
And Steve had promised Eleven these free ice cream visits every time she came back to Hawkins. They had a…mutual understanding. She lost a father and Steve never really had one.
“On a date,” Steve said, picking at the eroding leather on the booth.
“Mellie is a strange name for a boy.”
“Mellie isn’t a boy, she’s a girl”—
“Girls can go on dates with other girls?”
“Yes-I, uh,” Steve stuttered, running his digits through his hair. “Of course,” his faced flushed with embarrassment, he was never good at having these types of conversations. “I’ll have Robin explain it later, God knows she can word it better than me.”
Eleven nodded, licking the rest of her strawberry ice cream. Words evaded them again as they sat in a peaceful calmness, mutual comfort. She didn’t know if they sat there for seconds, minutes, or even hours before she spoke, but there’s one thing she did know—her dessert never melted. “Next time, I want sprinkles.”
Steve mocked offense, tugging at the strings of his hoodie. “You’re getting unlimited free ice cream every time you come home, the least you could do is say ‘thank you’.”
Eleven let out a soft giggle, chewing up the rest of the waffle cone. However, the snickers slowly dissipated from her mouth as she got hung up on one word, one simple word, that she only knew for a year or so. A word that now seems so foreign and so distant—a faraway dream that now tastes so very different on Eleven’s tongue. “Home?”
Steve was speechless for a few moments, twirling his fingers along the crevasses of the booth. He didn’t acknowledge El’s presence as he spoke, “Yeah, I guess Hawkins isn’t really your home anymore, is it?”
Eleven shrugged, sweeping the strawberry off her face. “Hopper was my home,” she whispered, crumbling the napkin in her fist. A tear slipped out from her waterline, drizzling down her cheek. Eleven didn’t even try to wipe it away with her napkin—it just wasn’t worth it. “And now with him gone…I just feel lost.”
Steve took the cloth that was attached to his belt and smoothed it over the table, picking up any crumbs Eleven might have left behind. “I’ve never felt the feeling of home with my parents—especially with my dad,” Steve admitted, tucking the cloth back underneath his belt. His brown irises grew heavy, increasingly interesting in the fraying fabric of his navy shorts. “And I guess, well—I guess the closest thing I felt to home was with Nance, but then”—
“But then she dumped your ass.”
Steve squinted his eyes at the impact of Eleven’s choice of words, holding is hand up in the ear in rejection. “Okay, no hold up, Nance did not dump my ass; Steve Harrington does not get dumped”—El couldn’t hide her laughter at his fluster-ness, his face turning as red as Robin’s tank top. Eventually, Steve just rolled his eyes, shutting his mouth.
And again, silence consumed them both, but it was comfortable, welcoming. In the past couple years, they both had too much noise. Too much violent, nightmare surging noise.
But when Steve spoke again, something about if Mike ever broke her heart he would kick his ass, a sudden chill slithered up Eleven’s spin like a snake. It caused her back to go rigid, her blood taut with fear. Apprehension caused her movements to freeze, her bones icing over with trepidation.
And then, Steve felt that cold breeze too. It swindled his hair just as those neon lights began to flicker. It was as if they were spazzing in terror too, thrashing on and off to the beat of both Eleven and Steve’s hearts. And every time the electricity flicked off, so would the heat, making the atmosphere chillier and chillier until it was as if they were in an ice box.
Steve slowly stood up from his seat in the booth, blocking El from the breeze that was rushing into Scoops Ahoy, from the chaotic lights that could give anyone a seizure. But that did not stop the girl from peering out from behind Steve, from seeing what he saw. Like him, Eleven’s breathing caught in her throat, her heart stopped pounding her chest, as her vision landed on a beautiful girl a couple hundred feet away.
Around Steve’s age, the girl wasn’t looking at the two, but she knew they were there. They could only see a side of her pale face, could only make out her intense cheekbones and jawlines, only picked up one of her dark eyes dancing with the same chaotic neon. The newborn Mind Flayer roared in agony as the restraints electrocuted its bloody flesh. It’s verbal wrath nearly broke the impenetrable glass, its limbs flaring out in pain. But its screeches and its cries were unheard in the sealed overlook where two Soviet officers stood, arms crossed with clipboards tucked away in their jackets.

And we will have the two powers that control the upside down…the ultimate weapon of mass destruction.
And when the Mind Flayer thundered again, the officer laughed.
