can you write something about how the gang handles a really emotional Curtis sister... Like she literally doesn't even know why shes crying most of the time she just is. She is literally me
send me requests for the outsiders!
--
At Dallas's groan, "Ah, here come the fuckin' waterworks again," all eyes are on you. You'd been hoping to fly under the radar, but now that seven pairs of eyes are staring at you, your tears escape hot and free down your cheeks.
"It's- I'm fine!" You insist, voice thick and choppy as you rush for the bathroom. You don't shut the door, because even if you did you know someone would have barged in. It's predictably Darry and Soda, but Two-Bit lingers in the hallway, peering in worriedly.
"You're okay, kid." Darry encourages you, a strong hand on your shoulder to help you get yourself under control, "Somethin' the matter?"
"What's with the tears, Baby Curtis?" Two asks, "Movie gettin' to 'ya?"
It's a horror movie- it's safe to say you're not sniffling over blood and guts.
"No, it's-" You sniffle, letting Sodapop tug you into his side where he's now perched on the lid of the toilet. He slings an arm around your waist and you lean gratefully into his side, thankful for the pressure of a body against yours.
"It's nothing. I don't know." You shrug helplessly, and Two smiles- kindly, not teasingly.
"You've got a condition or somethin'." He decides, traipsing back into the living room, "We oughta turn you in to a doctor, have them diagnose you with some crazy new brain condition. Maybe they could name it after you, kid."
"Yeah, Crybaby Curtis syndrome," Steve snickers, and Soda shouts a halfhearted, 'Be nice!' to his friend despite not being able to see him.
"Lay off, Steve," Johnny groans, and you hear Ponyboy chime in with a fervent, 'Yeah!' that he would have kept to himself had Johnny not led the charge. Despite having the upper hand, Ponyboy still struggles to pick fights with Steve. Usually it's a losing battle.
"Come on, kiddo." Darry urges, and Soda sticks close to your side as you shuffle back into the living room. Dallas doesn't move aside to give you your old seat back where he's stretched out over half of it, but he also doesn't protest when you throw your leg over his own to fit on the cushion.
"You've gotta man up, kid." Dally decides, snatching his cigarette out of his mouth and blowing the smoke into your face, "Can't be burstin' into tears all the time. People are gonna think you're weak."
"I am weak," You concede feebly, wiping at one last tear that streaks down your cheeks, "I don't know why it happens most'uh the time. Just does."
"Some people are just like that." Johnny smiles kindly at you, and you appreciate his sweetness, "We ain't gonna judge you."
"It'll be great for gettin' out of trouble," Sodapop grins mischieviously at you, "Just think, when you're a wild child in high school, and you're comin' home drunk at 2AM, Darry's gonna yell at you. Just flash him those teary eyes of yours and he'll get all soft for 'ya, he'll let you off real easy."
"Hey- Don't you go givin' her any ideas." Darry points a warning finger at Soda, and Ponyboy scoffs, surely jealous at the prospect of your secret weapon.
You share a secret smile with Soda, though, one that's hidden from both of your brothers. Two-Bit catches it and snorts, "Damn, Darry. I'm not itchin' to be you in a few years."
"Well then you'd better start hangin' out at your own house every once in a while," Darry glares at him, "You spend so much time here I'm gonna give you a chore on the chore chart."
"I don't even do chores at my own place," Two-Bit snickers, like the suggestion is the funniest one he's ever heard. He stretches his arm out behind your head, resting it on your far shoulder, "Just call me whenever you're goin' to those parties, Y/N, and I'll get drunker'n you, make you look like a saint in comparison."
"Dally's a saint in comparison to you, Two-Bit," Ponyboy gripes, "Just don't climb through my window expecting me to help you sneak past Darry."
"Now I mean it, boys," Darry snaps, "Don't go givin' her ideas! Conversation over."
Dallas waits all of three seconds before leaning down, tucking his face beside your ear so that he can drawl, "I'll teach you how to sneak past him if you can go without cryin' for a day."
"Deal." You hold out a pinky for him to link with his own, and if anyone else in Tulsa had offered it, they'd have gotten slugged. Instead, Dallas's finger curls around yours, and he shoots you a shit-eating grin, eyes glimmering dangerously, "24 hours, crybaby. Don't let me down."

look at me, I'm sandra dee the outsiders headcanons
synopsis :
what would happen if Ponyboy Curtis had a twin sister? with her curling iron, checkered dresses, baking recipes and nail polish.. how would the gang deal with a sandy olson bloke?
or headcanons for being the only Curtis' sister.
worcount : 1,4k — masterlist 𝜗𝜚 navigation post
tags/warnings : third person pov, cuss words, canon-violence, typical sexist female steryotipes, 60's view in feminity, the gang (*cough**cough* Dallas and Steve *cough**cough*) bullying her in a friendly manner, the reader is kinda like sandy from grease.
The whole gang was sitting on the couch of the Curtis' living room, the TV playing Mickey Mouse. It was silent except for the sound of Darry cooking in the kitchen. Or that was until.. "DALLAS WINSTON!!!" your voice boomed across the whole house, just as all the greasers in the living room snapped their heads in the direction of your room Dallas came running through the hall while laughing his ass off. He was holding your curling iron in one of his hands, the cable pretty much flying behind him with how quick he was running. "I don't know no Dallas Winston, princess!" was his yelled out reply before he disappeared into the kitchen. It wasn't even two seconds before they saw you running hot on his trail, half of your hair neatly done and the other still without styling. "hey!" that was Darry's voice. "what the hell are you two gooses doing?!?"
⮞ to say you're shielded would be an understatement.
⮞ ever since you were born, as the only babygirl in the household, both your brothers and your parents have taken care of you.
⮞ yeah, you fought with Ponyboy a lot in your toddler years —especially about your toys, but you all cared for each other.
⮞ and now that you're in the gang, it's like the protectiveness has multiplied enormously.
⮞ as the only girl in the group, you're the designated babysitter for Two-Bit's little sister if he ever has to bring her along. ^you'll both be in your room, doing her hair or painting her nails. ^she adores you.
⮞ the gang bullies you in a friendly way, and I mean that Dallas likes to make fun of your girly things (nail polish, curlers, plushies, etc)
⮞ Darry does all the cooking in the house, but you do the baking.
⮞ Steve loves you.
⮞ like he loves you a lot.
⮞ whenever the gang comes by to hang out at the house, you've baked or are baking something sweet for all of them to eat and he devours your chocolate cake like a fucking animal.
⮞ they all smoke like two packs of cancer sticks a day, but god forbid you ever touch one of those Darry'll cut your hand off.
⮞ you're not allowed to smoke or drink. ^Dallas has sneaked you a few cans of beer sometimes.
⮞ one time Dallas made fun of you for the faces you pulled while putting on mascara and the next second he had Steve and Soda holding him down forcefully as you put mascara on him. ^he was full on kicking and squirming around like the girl in the exorcist and screaming as if you were burning him 💀
⮞ since then he keeps his traps shut about you and your make-up.
⮞ you're actually Johnny's favourite out of the whole gang btw.
⮞ you're calm, and giggly and spend your time doing unharmful and enjoyable things that he'd take over fighting anyday.
⮞ he likes to sit on your bed, reading one of your books, while you curl your hair or put on make-up.
⮞ Ponyboy is your forced and reluctant fashion man that will tell you "yeah, it looks good, like the one before" when you show him an outfit.
⮞ Soda's your biggest hypeman though, he'll actually tell you some pretty good advice on what looks better on you.
⮞ Darry won't admit it, but when you dress in something frilly or pink it gives him nostalgia of when you were a 6 year-old toddler running around on your glittery pink princess dresses.
⮞ We all know Soda is the middle man between Darry and Pony all the time. You, on the other hand, are never taken into account in their discussions.
⮞ Sad but true, they don't really hold your opinions as that important because you "don't know how the world works"
⮞ Steve and Dallas are always teasing you like those annoying gossip aunts in the Christmas dinner asking about a boyfriend.
⮞ they don't know you're staying clear of boys for your eldest brother's sake. Darry really doesn't need the additional stress of you being with some boy he doesn't know that well.
⮞ Anytime Tim comes to the house for whatever he'll give you clothes from his sister or stuff that she's grown out like a specific colour of nail polish or whatever.
⮞ you're not allowed to go to the rumbles, firstly because Ponyboy isn't either due to age and because you're a girl.
⮞ greasers don't pick fights with society girls, but society boys do pick fights with greaser girls.
⮞ you've got a curfew, and Darry will get even more worried than when he did with Pony if you ever get late.
⮞ you've got princess treatment from Soda and Steve whenever you drop by at the gas station to keep them company.
⮞ they tell you to just 'sit there and be pretty' (referring to the counter) whenever one of them has to go attend a customer.
⮞ you've actually, embarassingly so, when you were
younger had a huge crush on Dallas.
⮞ you were 10 and he was the handsome bad boy that tugged on your ponytails, what were you supposed to do?
⮞ he found out three years later, once you no longer where crushing on him, because Two-Bit ran his mouth too much and now he mocks you on it and calls you all kinds of nicknames just for funsies.
⮞ god forbid any of the boys hurts you with an insensitive comment because Darry will knock their teeth out of their mouths without hesitation.
⮞ one time Two-Bit said that your dress looked dumb while he was drunk and Darry grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and forced him to apologise to you and tell you that your dress was really pretty.
⮞ talking about dresses and Darry, he always measures that your skirt goes at least two fingers over your knee before letting you go out lol.
⮞ overall they just act like a bunch of overprotective —and idiotic— older brothers.

can you do a curtis sister imagine (older than pony younger than soda) and she is stunning and all the boys at school are obsessed with her and always talking to her and asking her out and the gang hates it because shes their baby!!

Summary: The gang sees you get hit on
Warnings: none
Authors note: none
Everything about you exuded beauty, the way you smiled and how you hair fell about your shoulder. You were, perhaps, seen as the prettiest girl in your school, and while you could flaunt it, you preferred being humble about it.
The sun beat down on your face, illuminating your soft lines and plump lips. You peered down the street to watch for oncoming cars, the gang following in stringing clusters behind you.
It was the first week of summer break, and Darry decided to take you all to a small beach village as a nice vacation and because the weather was so nice.
You shielded your eyes from the bright sunlight and crossed the open road to the pier that overlooked the sea. You could hear the waves crash against the rocks and the hoots and holler of the gang. A blond boy stepped up to you, eyes squinted because of the sun. He smiled at you, his freckled cheeks dusted with a pink blush.
"Hello?" You smiled, shining like a pearl.
"Hello," He smiled back, "You from around here?"
Your lips drew back into a thin line, annoyed at the attempt.
"No," You stated plainly, turning back to the sea. The gang filed in behind you, watching the young boy with a mixture of emotions but none, you could sense, we're good.
"Well, I could introduce you to the place," He gestured out to the village and you shook your head.
"Not interested, thank you," You said, and Soda patted your shoulder.
"You sure? I'm pretty well-versed in this area," He smiled again.
"Kid, she said no, beat it," Dallas said, lighting a cancer stick and letting the smoke curl in the sea breeze.
"Yeah man, back off my sister," Sodapop clicked his tongue I'm annoyance.
"Chill man," the boy raised his hands in surrender before walking away.
"This girl gets hit on everywhere we go," Two Bit remarked, lazily looking out over to the sea.
"Yeah, it's really annoying" Ponyboy grumbled. You laughed lightheartedly and continued walking down the pier.
"Hey, if a guy every bothers you like that again, come tell me, alright?" Darry patted your shoulder.
"See, I wouldn't mind getting hit on like Y/n" Steve said, taking off his obnoxious sunglasses that he swore made him "look cool".
"I would," Johnny remarked, walking alongside you.
"I mind when it's my damn sister getting hit on," Sodapop adjusted his hat, the coastal winds ruffling his hair.
"Oh please, it's fine," You shook your head and laughed.
"Seriously, kid, if someone bothers you like that, you come tell us" Two Bit looked you in the eye, his serious face catching slightly off guard.
"Alright" You gave him a soft smile.
"Promise?" Steve nudged You.
"Of course,"

Do y'all ever get like...flashes of a story? And it's like a single gif from a movie but you can SEE the story behind it but it's not done and your brain says not yet, we don't know YET, but it's there?
Anyway, this week I have seen:
Angela Shepard whose eyes are feverish bright with what some would call madness, laughing in the dirt. Her dress is torn and there's blood in her teeth and she's never looked so alive
Ponyboy Curtis and Curly Shepard passing a cigarette back and forth under a streetlamp. Curly's shivering but Ponyboy can't seem to look at him so he doesn't notice. But Curly's shivering.
Evie Bylilly standing alone by her locker glancing down the hall at Steve's back before sighing and turning away. There's a bruise on the inside of her wrist, faint enough no one would notice unless they cared
Sodapop Curtis looking at Steve as he talks about nothing. He leans back and tips his chair on two legs while Steve laughs, and something has changed
Susie Mathews smiling with tears in her eyes. I don't know where she is, but it isn't safe even though it should be
Darry Curtis and Two-bit Mathews absolutely soaked to the skin and they're laughing so hard Darry's bent over and Two is leaning against him, and it feels warm and somehow also bittersweet

Peachy Girl || Steve Randle
Summary: Request - Could you please do a Steve Randle x Curtis Sister! Reader where the two of them are really close and Steve is really protective of her and helps her out a lot?... Read Rest Here
A/N: Thank you so much for the request anon. This one is so soft and sweet :)
Pairing: Steve Randle x Female Reader
Word Count: 2.2k +
TW: crying, anxiety, sadness, hints of depression
Ever since your parents had passed those months ago you’d felt like you were drifting further and further into invisibility in your own home. It was never easy being the second middle child, right between the dazzling Sodapop and the book smart Ponyboy. You were kind of always just there. You’d made up for you lack of being special in anything by being kinder than anybody around you. There was always a smile on your face no matter the occasion. It took the passing of the most important people in your life to dim it.
But you had to put on a show for your brothers. They were already going through so much on their own. Darry had to step up and become a father in a matter of moments for his grieving siblings, he might not have even grieved himself. Sodapop was navigating falling in love while figuring out the loss. The moment he could he dropped out of school to start working at that gas station down the road with Steve.
Steve Randle, Soda’s very best friend. Steve had been a part of the Curtis household for as long as you had remembered. He was always just there. He was always your favorite of the greasers. You’d always found it so easy to talk to him, vent to him. He’d always been soft on you too. Little did you know of his growing crush on you that Soda was, very unfortunately, sworn to secrecy. Even though Sodapop assured him all of the boys would support it. Soda maybe wasn’t the most book smart, but he certainly wasn’t dumb either. Soda just knew when he’d lost his best friend to his sister. Not that he minded. He always knew there was something deeper there that neither of you wanted to see. Not until Soda caught Steve staring off at her a few too many times. Steve couldn’t deny the growing feelings he felt for you.
Then there was Ponyboy. Pony. The baby of the family. The brainiac child who was going to get the hell out Tulsa. He was always destined for so much more than the greaser life he was born into. You never felt like you didn’t belong with them you just felt like they didn’t know you or care to know you. They just assumed you were fine. You had a smile on your face always.
When your parents passed everything went to straight to the depths hell. You had to figure it out on your own as Pony spiraled quickly. His usual A grades were slipping to C’s. He just didn’t seem to care anymore. He and Darry got into nothing but arguments every night. At first you’d tried to mediate, but you’d grown tired of being ignored by the two of them as you tried to calm down the blowouts. So, you just let it happen. Then that dreadful night happened. Johnny killed a soc and Pony ran away with him. For five dreadful days you mustered up the strength to be the rock you brothers needed as they were in a state you’d never seen before. You were just as panicked as they were, you just couldn’t show it. Then he came home, a hero. The entire ordeal was nothing less than horrific for you, but it didn’t matter, no. Ponyboy needed them, you even. You had to be the big sister he could lean on now.
You had been so wrapped up in your own thoughts you hadn’t heard the front doors usual squeak when it opened and closed. No, you were just staring at the pages of homework sitting at the kitchen table in front of you. You hadn’t even heard the footsteps of the man you could probably call your own best friend if Soda hadn’t claimed him so fiercely.
“Hey Peach.” Steve’s usual demanding voice had downturned into something softer, “You doin’ alright? Where’s everyone?” Your eyes flicked up to meet his smiling gaze looking down at you. You’d grown close to Steve, especially after your parents had passed.
Steve had started calling you Peach after you went through a phase one summer where you discovered your love for the fruit. You wanted peach everything. Steve found it far cuter than he should have. He was fifteen at the time and you were fourteen. It was then that he knew his feelings were changing for the younger Curtis sister. You also loved baking, so Steve became your designated taste tester after your family was tired of trying peach flavored treats. He couldn’t stand the look of disappointment on your face when somebody turned down what you baked. That’s why he made sure to take at least one of everything each time you offered.
He didn’t miss the way you jumped. His sudden presence in the oddly quiet house surprising you, “Hi Stevie.” Giving him your best smile that surely didn’t fool him of your sullen mood as you nodded your head along trying to convince yourself more than him, “I’m okay. Just struggling through some homework. Pony’s at his afterschool tutoring thing. Soda’s down at the DX and Darry’s still at work. Said it’d be a late night. His crew took on another job.”
Steve nodded as he sat down next to you grabbing for your pre-calculus homework you’d all but zoned out on, “You’re the smartest gal I know, Peach.” He grinned reading over the problems you hadn’t even tried starting. It was only two years ago he’d been in the same class, and he’d remembered a little of it so an offer of help would likely not do too much to actually help.
A sigh left your lips, “Don’t feel so smart right now Stevie.” Defeat was evident in your tone. You were overtired. Exhausted and not quite sure how you were going to continue on faking something that was breaking you apart. You felt like a burden on the family, on Darry. Useless and just another mouth to feed. At least Soda was bringing in money and Pony had some promise.
Steve was silent as he studied you. He watched as you grabbed for your homework back. Your eyes stayed trained on the homework. Your eyes strained as you wrote something down before quickly erasing it. He’d watched you for a few minutes as you struggled through whatever was going on in your head. Something was going on and he was going to get to the bottom of it. It was becoming clear he was a safe space for you to open up.
He placed his hand down on the table next to yours, “Hey Curtis, what’s going on?” His voice was kinder than you’d ever heard from him which only made it harder to hold back the building tears behind your eyes. Why were you about to cry anyway? It made you feel weak as you pushed your hands in your eyes trying to push them away.
He watched with worry as you seemed to crumble at his words and under his gaze. He’d never, in the nearly twelve years of knowing you, seen you act so off from your usual self. He knew you were holding back from him and that certainly wasn’t like you. It’d only take a little bit of word to get the truth out of your lips and he knew it.
But to his surprise you actually gave him an answer he could understand, “I’m just… tired.” You trailed off before continuing, letting it out. Steve had become sort of a safe space for you after your life was thrust into chaos, “I’m not important Stevie. Not smart like Pony so what’s the point of trying in school? Not beautiful and charming like Soda. I have the personality of a scared mouse compared to him. And I’m certainly not strong like Darry. Who else could do what he's dealing with right now. I’m invisible and useless and…”
Steve had to stop you. The words coming out of your own mouth were upsetting him far more than you realized, “You can’t say things like that, Peach.”
“But it’s true.” He saw the way you blinked slowly trying to stop the incoming tears that seemed inevitable at this point.
Steve couldn’t stand the sight of you. Not having a clue how to comfort not only his friend but the girl he’d always loved but just recently realized it. He decided to grab for your hand. Once he had it he ran his thumb in gentle circles on the back of it. He wasn’t a man for many words most of the time, but you needed his words now, “Your brothers are those things, you’re right Peach. But you’re also the kindest greaser I’ve ever met. When nobody stopped to help that little kid last week you didn’t think twice to help him and stop the bleeding from his scraped knees. You changed that kids day for the better when nobody bothered to stop.”
He smiled seeing the blush rising to your cheeks at his small praise. He had to continue on knowing that the kind words were actually working, “The best damn baker too. The guys always talk about how good your treats are. Shit, after the rumble they all but demanded some cupcakes from Miss Curtis. You’re a sunshine, Peach. You’re my sunshine, Y/N. So please, don’t say those things. You’re so important. Important to so many people. To me.”
Not being able to hold back the tears after the sweetest words from him you just let them fall. Before you could brush them away you felt his hands wiping them away for you. Not even you could deny the way your heart started racing at the intimate touch of his hands on your cheeks. You loved him and you didn’t have a clue how to say it. He made you feel the safest and most secure out of the greasers. Not even Pony could make you feel so loved, cherished, and adored.
After a moment of your sniffles and tears he decided to do something he’s never done with you before. But then again, he’d genuinely only seen you cry after your parents had died. You weren’t a crier and him seeing you with so many was distressing him. He stood up, took your hand, and gently led you to the living room. Without saying a word, he pulled you down with him as he sat down on the couch. In his boldest move he wrapped his arms right around your waist and pulled you into him. It startled you but it felt oddly… right. There wasn’t a hint of either of you being uncomfortable as you laid your head on his shoulder. Steve let his hand rest just under your hip.
“You hear me Peachy girl?” He whispered while using his other hand to gently run his hands through your hair.
You could have sworn your heart literally fluttered at the way he changed your nickname. Softer and sweeter. A side of Steve Randle that only you would see. He had his issues, but they were never directed at you. You’d never felt safer than when you were with him.
A soft nod came from you, “I hear you. Thank you Stevie. For everything. You’re always there for me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” If you weren’t so cried out from the earlier tears you were sure the emotions would be too much for you right now. Steve was quite literally holding you in his arms. You didn’t want to think too much into it, but it felt like things were about to change between the two of you.
You felt your eyes grow heavy as a yawn escaped your lips. He had no idea how soothing this was for you. Exactly and everything that you needed. Only he could know that. He knew you better than your brothers that lived with you.
“It’s a good thing you’ll never have to do that then, yeah?” He asked more so reassuring your thoughts
He smiled seeing the tension leaving you, your eyes drooping heavily. It wasn’t what he had planned but he relished at the thought of you falling asleep on him. Quicker than he thought he heart your breaths even out. He continued to run his hand through your hair not wanting to break the peace you’d finally found.
He had no idea how long the two of you sat there before the front door opened up once more. Thankfully it was just Soda who walked in with the usual grease smeared across his face.
“What’s this?” Sodapop grinned as he spotted your sleeping head on Steve’s shoulder, “This where you went this afternoon? Flirting with my kid sister?” His smile let Steve know he was more than okay with the arrangement.
“Oh, get outta here Soda. You’ve been pushing this for years anyway. And quiet down. She needs the sleep. I gotta talk to you and Darry bout her.” His softened stature had hardened right back up in the presence of Sodapop.
Soda set his bag down before walking over to the couch. Even Soda had to admit how painstakingly cute the two of you looked together. The Curtis brother wasn’t sure of much, but he was sure of this. He knew you could jump headfirst in and come out the other side squeaky clean. He knew how deeply Steve had loved and cared for you. He just knew the two of you were meant to be together. There were these things in life that just made sense and the two of you together were one of them.
“What about?” Soda asked not missing the way his hand was wrapped around her.
“Later, I already said be quiet. She's sleeping."
Soda smirked, “Alright grumpy. Already protecting her.”
Steve rolled his eyes while flipping his best friend off, “Always.” A nod of appreciation left Soda before he made his way to his room letting the two of you have whatever it was going on. He knew you’d try and fight it for a while, but he was also sure you’d give in. You were already so soft on Steve, it just made sense.
“Sleep well, Peachy girl.” Steve whispered not minding that he had nothing to do but simply hold you. He’d prayed for days like these and here it was. You might actually want what he did and for the first time in a while he had hope that this could actually work out.

Stares at you and very politely requests for some transfem soda headcanons
Oh hell yeah I’d love to
(tw for mentions of period-typical transphobia)
Transfem Soda h/cs
-She keeps the name Sodapop.
-She worries sometimes that Mom and Dad would be disappointed in her, to which Pony or Darry will remind her that “Mom and Dad always said they wanted a girl, they’d be proud.”
-She loves to dress all feminine and whatever, but on a day to day basis she dresses more or less like she always has.
-Tulsa is big enough that outside of their neighborhood/school, most people don’t know her as she was before. So on dates, Steve likes to take her to the other side of town, away from all the people who know her as “Soda the boy”. She loves it, it’s so freeing to have folks see her as herself.
-Speaking of Steve- he’d just finally accepted that he was gay when Soda started experimenting w/ gender stuff. (Turns out he wasn’t gay, he was bi and so in love with Soda that he couldn’t like anyone else, girl or guy.) But it definitely sends him spiraling into another crisis for a bit- he’s supposed to be gay, why’s the thought of Soda as a chick so hot?!
-Steve’s real supportive tho. Back when Soda was just calling it “crossdressing” he’d buy her things to experiment with- yk, like dresses, heels, makeup, etc. Part of that was selfish since Steve was sorta (very) into it, but it mainly stemmed from an earnest hope that Soda would feel more like herself
-That “crossdressing” phase lasted a few months, so when she eventually did come out to him as a girl, he wasn’t completely surprised. He’s who she came out to first, and it means a lot to him that she trusts him so much.
-Coming out to Darry and Pony tho is…harder. She knows they’ll always love her, but she feels like they’ll see her differently.
-She tells Darry on accident. She’d just come home from work, feeling shitty because someone called her “such a nice young man”. She was tearing up about it, which made her feel worse, and then Darry showed up, home from work early. He got her to explain what happened, and the interaction went like this:
“Wait…so you don’t want folks to call you nice??”
“...I don’t want them to call me a man…”
Darry hugged her and said “Soda…you got somethin’ you wanna tell me?”
And it was all over from there. She just spilled.
-When Ponyboy gets home, he’s surprised, a little weirded out, but mostly glad Soda’s happy. Neither him or Darry really get it at first, but they know she’s happy so they’re happy. Over time though, they understand more and more, till they understand her as well as she understands herself.
-Coming out to the gang is straightforward enough. Two-Bit started to make an iffy comment as a joke, but Steve threatened him till he shut up. Two-Bit’s supportive though- the way he sees it, the world always needs more hot chicks. Johnny goes to her for advice about girls, which he knows makes her feel validated. And Dally pretty much immediately starts flirting with her, partially out of his instinctual need to harass women and partially because it riles Steve up and Dally likes riling Steve up. Two-Bit flirts with her too- she’s hot, blond, and it pisses Steve off, so yeah, win-win.
-Darry worries about her sometimes. He does the protective older brother bit only half-jokingly, and it sort of annoys Soda because Darry was never this worried about her before she came out. She also sort of likes it, because yk, it feels affirming. So she’s got mixed feelings about that.
-Darry threatens to kill Steve if he hurts her. And sure, Darry did that back when stevepop first got together too, but now it feels even more pointed. Steve is a little scared of Darry in a way that he wasn’t before.
-Ponyboy straight up gaslights Curly Shepard, Mark Jennings, and half the kids at school into thinking Soda was always a girl, just a tomboy. “Jesus, you thought I had two brothers? Hell no, I’ve always had a brother and a sister. Soda just looked like a boy as a kid ‘cos she had to wear Darry’s hand-me-downs you fuckin’ idiots.”
-After seeing Ponyboy’s success at that, Two-Bit, Johnny, Dally, and Steve try to do the same with the other hoods. Tim Shepard doesn’t fall for it, but when Dally begrudgingly explains the situation, Tim supports it too. Not because he particularly likes Soda or trans people as a whole- he actually thinks she’s kind of a freak tbh- but because she’s a Curtis. Darry’s his friend, and she’s Darry’s kid sister. Besides, it’s what he’d do if Angela was trans. (this ain’t a great pov to have obviously! But yk, I’m aiming for realism.)
-Steve is saving up money to get Soda HRT. He hasn’t told her, but everytime he gets five bucks from his dad, it goes to the secret estrogen fund. He tells Darry about it, and Darry starts adding a small portion to it monthly too.
-She looks even more like her mom now. Sometimes, Pony will wake up from a nightmare and in his sleepy haze, he’ll momentarily think she is Mrs. Curtis. He’s never told Soda this before and never will. It’d make her feel guilty, and he doesn’t want that,
-It feels lousy living in Tulsa sometimes, where folks often misgender her and bring her down. So when she and Steve get older, they move to a nearby city where everyone who meets her meets her as Sodapop- Steve’s girlfriend, the Curtis sister, a young woman who’s fantastic with cars and even better with horses.

Here's another one, the outsiders boys having to babysit I feel it would be cute n hectic
Sincerely
The greaser who's bad at ideas aka bug
STAWP HI BUG! Okay love this idea.
Sincerely
Someone who barley can write and truly tries to wing it.
_________________________________________________
Darrel Curtis
At first, Darry hesitates when his partner asks him to babysit. He’s already used to wrangling Ponyboy and Sodapop, so the idea of watching over a baby feels like unfamiliar territory. But he agrees because, let’s face it, he’s a total softie when it comes to them.
Before they arrives, Darry goes into full protective mode. He double checks the sharp edges of furniture, hides any dangerous objects, and makes sure the baby’s play area is safe. Soda and Pony think he’s overdoing it and tease him relentlessly.
The moment there dropped off, Darry immediately slips into big brother mode. He approaches babysitting like it’s a job careful, responsible, and always on high alert.
He’s great with his brothers, but with a baby, he’s initially stiff and awkward. Holding them feels like balancing a football, and he’s overly cautious with every move. “Am I doing this right?” becomes his most used phrase of the day.
Seeing Darry struggle, Soda jumps in to help. He’s a natural with kids and instantly gets the baby laughing. Darry watches him and starts to loosen up, slowly building confidence.
To Darry’s surprise (and mild frustration), the baby seems to adore Ponyboy. Every time Pony walks into the room, they giggle and reaches for him, making Darry mutter, “Well, I guess I’m chopped liver.”
When the baby gets fussy, Darry tells them stories about when he was a kid. His deep voice and animated expressions captivate them, and soon enough, there calm and smiling.
At some point, things inevitably go wrong. The baby manages to knock over a bowl of cereal or spill juice on his shirt. Darry sighs but quickly cleans up, grumbling about how “this is harder than roofing.”
Getting them to nap is a whole ordeal. Darry tries rocking them, singing softly, and even reading them one of Pony’s books. When nothing works, he finally gets Soda to lend a hand, and together they manage to get the baby to sleep.
Once there asleep, Darry can’t help but feel a wave of pride. He watches the baby sleep for a moment, realizing he’s not as bad at this babysitting thing as he thought.
When his partner comes to pick up the baby , they find Darry on the floor playing peek-a-boo. They teases him about how good he is with kids, and his ears turn red. “It’s no big deal,” he mumbles, trying to play it cool.
Despite his initial reluctance, Darry secretly enjoyed the experience. Later, he jokes to Soda and Pony that babysitting is harder than dealing with a gang fight, but they catch the small smile on his face.
Sodapop Curtis
When his partner asks him to babysit there baby sister, Sodapop is all in. He’s confident, saying, “Babies love me. This’ll be a breeze!” His natural charm and easygoing attitude make him feel like he’s got it under control.
The second the baby is dropped off, Soda crouches to her level and starts playing peek-a-boo. She giggles instantly, and he grins, already winning her over.
Soda is an absolute pro without even trying. He carries the baby around like he’s been doing it forever, bouncing her on his hip and chatting with her like she’s an old friend.
He’s full of energy, so he spends the first hour making goofy faces, crawling around on the floor, and chasing her with a stuffed animal. The baby is laughing so hard she gets the hiccups.
When he runs out of actual toys, Soda starts grabbing random household items a wooden spoon, a shoelace, and even an empty cereal box to entertain her. Somehow, it works like a charm.
He tries to read her a children’s book, but halfway through, he starts making up his own silly story. It’s full of exaggerated voices and wild gestures, which keeps the baby mesmerized.
At some point, Soda turns on the radio and starts dancing with the baby in his arms. He spins her around, and she squeals with delight. Pony walks in and shakes his head, muttering, “You’re ridiculous.”
When it’s snack time, Soda carefully feeds her small bites of food while pretending each spoonful is an airplane or a train. He ends up with more food on his shirt than in her mouth, but he doesn’t mind.
When she gets fussy, Soda knows exactly what to do. He gently rocks her while humming a tune, pacing around the house until she calms down. He even lets her play with his hair, despite her pulling it a little too hard.
Darry and Pony can’t resist checking in. Darry watches for a minute, impressed, while Pony teases, “You’re gonna make a great dad someday, Soda.” Soda just grins and says, “I know!”
Unlike Pony, Soda handles diaper changes like a champ. He jokes to the baby, “This ain’t my first rodeo, kid,” even though it probably is. Somehow, he manages to keep it neat and quick.
When it’s nap time, Soda grabs a blanket and lays on the couch with the baby on his chest. He hums softly, and she falls asleep almost immediately. He stays there, not wanting to disturb her, and quietly dozes off himself.
When his partner arrives, they finds Soda asleep on the couch with the baby snuggled up on him. Soda wakes up groggily and just gives her that charming grin.
After they leave, Pony and Darry tease him mercilessly, saying he’s basically already a dad. Soda just shrugs and says, “What can I say? I’ve got a gift.”
Ponyboy Curtis
Ponyboy has zero experience with babies, so when his partner asks him to babysit there baby sister, he’s immediately nervous but agrees because he wants to impress her.
The night before, Pony stays up reading a book about babysitting. He even asks Darry for advice, which Darry delivers with a smirk: “Just don’t drop her, Pony.”
Soda reassures him in the morning, saying, “You’ll be fine, Pony. Babies are just tiny humans with drool.” This somehow doesn’t make him feel better.
The moment his girlfriend drops her off, Pony realizes how small the baby is. He’s extra cautious, holding her like she’s made of glass. But when she starts crying, he panics and runs to Soda for help.
Pony tries to entertain her by reading Gone with the Wind, but the baby is more interested in chewing on the pages than listening. He quickly swaps the book out for a rattle.
When she starts crying again, Pony picks her up and starts pacing. He talks to her about his brothers, the gang, and even his favorite movies. To his surprise, she quiets down and stares at him like she’s actually listening.
While the baby is playing with her toys, Pony tries to sneak in some writing time. Unfortunately, she gets fussy every time he looks away, so he has to ditch his notebook and give her his full attention.
Pony is absolutely blown away by how adorable the baby is. When she giggles or reaches for his face, he can’t help but smile and play peek-a-boo with her, despite feeling silly.
At one point, Dally stops by and sees Pony struggling. He smirks and says, “Just let her cry it out, Ponyboy. Babies need tough love.” Pony ignores him completely and shoos him away.
Pony’s artistic side kicks in when he starts drawing silly pictures for the baby. She claps her hands excitedly at the funny doodles, and he feels a little proud that he can make her happy.
When the baby needs a diaper change, Pony freezes in horror. He calls out for Soda, but Soda just laughs and says, “It’s all you, Pony!” After some fumbling and gagging, he manages to get it done, though he swears never to do it again.
After hours of playing and entertaining her, the baby finally falls asleep in his arms. Pony sits on the couch, afraid to move in case he wakes her up. He can’t help but feel a little proud of himself.
When his partner comes to pick up there sister, they find Pony sitting quietly with the baby asleep in his arms. There melts on the spot, calling him “the sweetest.” Pony’s cheeks turn red as he mumbles, “It wasn’t a big deal.”
As soon as his partner leaves, Darry and Soda jump at the chance to tease him. “Looks like you’re a natural, Ponyboy,” Soda says with a wink. Pony rolls his eyes but secretly feels a bit proud.
Johnny Cade
He’s hesitant at first. He’s never babysat before and doesn’t feel confident, but he agrees because he wants to help her out and because he secretly loves kids.
When the baby is dropped off, Johnny is shy but gentle. He kneels down to her level and gives her a small smile, saying, “Hey there, kiddo.” She stares at him for a moment before giggling, which makes him relax a bit.
Johnny triple checks everything to make sure it’s safe. He keeps the baby’s toys nearby, makes sure there’s nothing sharp within reach, and keeps looking over his shoulder to make sure she’s okay.
Johnny sits on the floor with her and carefully hands her toys one by one. He’s soft spoken, quietly narrating what he’s doing to keep her entertained. “This one’s a bear. You like bears, right?”
The first time the baby laughs at something he does probably making a funny face Johnny’s whole demeanor brightens. He starts trying different little tricks to keep her giggling.
Anytime the baby stumbles while crawling or gets fussy, Johnny is there in a heartbeat, making sure she’s okay. He’s super attentive, constantly keeping an eye on her.
Johnny grabs one of Ponyboy’s books and starts reading softly to the baby. His quiet voice soothes her, even if she doesn’t understand the words. He feels proud when she snuggles into him during the story.
When the baby starts crying for no apparent reason, Johnny panics a little. He tries everything rocking her, giving her a toy, even singing softly. Eventually, he figures out she just wanted her bottle and feels relieved.
As the baby starts to calm down, she reaches for Johnny’s face, touching his cheeks and hair. He chuckles nervously but lets her, feeling an unexpected warmth at how much trust she has in him.
When it’s time to change her diaper, Johnny freezes and quietly mutters, “I can do this. I can do this.” He ends up calling Ponyboy for help, and together they manage to get it done, with plenty of laughter and gagging involved.
When it’s time for her nap, Johnny rocks her gently in his arms, humming a soft tune. His soothing presence works wonders, and she falls asleep against his chest. He feels a mix of pride and relief.
when the gang finds out, Dally teases Johnny, saying, “Didn’t know you had it in you, Johnnycake.” Johnny just shrugs with a small smile, secretly proud of how well he did.
Dallas Winston
“ A baby? C’mon, babe, I’m not a damn nanny.” But they gives him that look, and Dally, despite his tough-guy exterior, can’t say no.
Dally doesn’t plan anything. He figures, “How hard can it be?” Spoiler: It’s harder than he thought.
The baby stares at him the moment there dropped off, and Dally stares right back. “What’re you lookin’ at, kid?” he mutters.
Dally refuses to use baby talk. Instead, he talks to her like she’s one of his friends. “Alright, kid, let’s get this over with. Don’t cry, and we’ll be fine.”
Within minutes, the baby is crawling everywhere, pulling on things, and grabbing at his leather jacket. Dally sighs, picks her up, and says, “You’re a real handful, you know that?”
Dally ends up entertaining her in the most Dallas way possible. He tosses her in the air (carefully, of course) and makes silly faces while pretending he’s too cool to care. She squeals with laughter, and he secretly loves it.
He tries feeding her but has no patience for the mess. When she throws her food on the floor, he groans and mutters, “You’re worse than Two-Bit after a bender.” Still, he cleans it up though he grumbles the whole time.
At some point, Dally teaches the baby something mischievous, like how to stick her tongue out or the middle finger . When she copies him, he grins proudly. “You’re gonna be a little hood, just like me.”
When the baby starts crying out of nowhere, Dally freezes. “What the hell do you want?!” he blurts out, pacing the room. He tries bouncing her awkwardly and even calls Johnny for advice. Eventually, he figures out she just needed her stuffed animal.
Despite his tough exterior, Dally has a natural way with the baby. When she gets tired, he sits on the couch, holding her against his chest, quietly humming an old tune. He doesn’t even realize how gentle he’s being.
Two-Bit and Johnny stop by and immediately start teasing Dally about being a babysitter. “Never thought I’d see the day,” Two-Bit says, laughing. Dally chases them out, muttering, “Idiots.”
When the baby finally falls asleep, Dally feels like he’s won a battle. He sits still, afraid to move, and mumbles, “You’re lucky you’re cute, kid.”
When his partner comes back, they finds Dally holding the baby, who’s still asleep. They raises an eyebrow and smirks. “Didn’t think you had it in you.” Dally shrugs and says, “Yeah, well, don’t get used to it.”
Dally plays it cool. “Babies are easy,” he says with a smirk, leaving out the chaotic moments. But they all know he’s secretly a softie when it comes to people he cares about.
Steve Randle
He immediately says, “Of course I can handle it! How hard could it be?” He’s convinced he’s going to be the best babysitter ever.
When the baby is dropped off, Steve tries to impress his partner by acting super confident. “See? She already loves me!” he says as the baby stares at him. She immediately pulls on his hair, and Steve laughs it off like it’s no big deal.
Steve spends the first ten minutes holding the baby and telling her all about cars. “This is an engine,” he says, showing her a car magazine “Someday, I’ll teach you how to fix one.”
It doesn’t take long for the baby to start crawling around and getting into things. Steve tries to keep up, muttering, “You’re faster than I thought, kid.”
Steve’s idea of babysitting is showing the baby all the “cool” things he can do, like balancing a spoon on his nose or spinning her toy in the air. She claps her hands excitedly, and he beams. “Told ya I’m good at this!”
When it’s time to feed her, Steve ends up making a mess. He tries to feed her while making airplane noises, but she smacks the spoon, and the food goes flying. “Okay, that’s on you, not me,” he says, laughing.
At one point, Steve pulls out a small wrench and pretends to “teach” the baby how to fix things. “This is how you tighten a bolt,” he says. The baby grabs the wrench and tries to chew on it, and he quickly swaps it for a teething toy.
When the inevitable diaper change comes, Steve groans. “Alright, how bad could it- OH, COME ON!” He powers through, making faces and jokes the whole time, but he’s gagging the entire time.
Steve grabs a comb and a piece of paper, making a makeshift kazoo. He plays silly tunes for the baby, who giggles and bounces along. He grins and says, “You’ve got good taste, kid.”
When the baby starts crying and he can’t figure out why, Steve calls Sodapop for advice. “What do I do? She’s crying, and I’ve tried everything!” Soda calmly tells him to check if she’s tired or needs her stuffed animal. Steve follows the advice, and it works like a charm.
As much as Steve acts like he’s all about fun, he has a sweet, nurturing side. When the baby starts to get sleepy, he gently rocks her and hums quietly, surprising even himself with how natural it feels.
When his partner comes they smiles and say “Looks like you had fun.” Steve grins and says, “Told ya I could handle it.”
Twobit Mathews
Twobit grins and says, “I’ll have her cracking up in no time. I’m basically a comedian for babies.” He’s way too confident for someone with no experience.
The second the baby is dropped off, TwoBit starts pulling faces and making silly noises. The baby stares at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. “See? Told ya I’m a natural,” he says proudly.
TwoBit immediately gets distracted playing with the baby’s toys himself. “This thing spins? That’s wild!” The baby doesn’t mind she just watches him with wide eyed fascination.
When it’s time to feed her, Two-Bit pretends to host a cooking show. “And here we have the finest mashed peas, perfect for a baby connoisseur.” He ends up with food on his shirt, but the baby thinks it’s hilarious.
TwoBit turns on cartoons, claiming it’s for the baby, but he’s the one laughing the loudest. The baby just sits on his lap, occasionally pointing at the screen while TwoBit says, “Oh, that guy? He’s gonna slip on a banana peel. Watch!”
When the baby starts crying, TwoBit doesn’t panic. He immediately launches into full-on clown mode, using exaggerated voices and pretending to trip over the furniture. The baby can’t help but giggle.
TwoBit encourages a bit of chaos, like teaching the baby how to blow raspberries or make a funny noise with her lips. When she copies him, he laughs so hard he nearly falls over. “You’re my kinda kid!”
When it’s diaper time, TwoBit groans and mutters, “Why didn’t anyone warn me about this part?” He tries to pawn it off on Johnny or Ponyboy if they’re nearby, but when they refuse, he tackles it himself, gagging dramatically the whole time.
TwoBit finds a baby hat or some funny clothes and tries them on her. “Look at you, kid! Stylin’ and profilin’!” He might even put on her little sunglasses and take a Polaroid.
Instead of reading a regular baby book, TwoBit decides to tell her a completely made up story full of wild exaggerations. “And then the brave knight me, of course- defeated the dragon with a rubber chicken!” The baby claps, even if she doesn’t understand a word.
Despite his joking nature, TwoBit can’t help but melt a little when the baby grabs his finger or giggles at something he does. “You’re kinda cute, you know that?” he says with a smile.
When the baby refuses to nap, TwoBit tries everything rocking her, singing (badly), and even pretending to nap himself. Eventually, she falls asleep, but not before he mutters, “You’re one stubborn little thing.”
When his partner comes back, the house is a bit of a mess, with toys and snacks everywhere. But the baby is happy and giggling, and Two Bit is sitting on the floor with a juice box in one hand and a toy in the other. “Don’t worry, babe, I handled it,” he says with a wink.
Tim Shepard
He raises an eyebrow and says, “Babysit? You know I don’t do kids.”
He finally agrees after much begging.
: At first, Tim is all business. He picks the baby up awkwardly, holding her at arm’s length, and mutters, “Alright, kid, don’t make this harder than it needs to be.”
Despite his tough demeanor, Tim quickly becomes hyper aware of the baby’s safety. He moves sharp objects, makes sure she’s nowhere near the edge of the couch, and keeps a watchful eye on her every move.
Tim isn’t great at playing, but he gives it a shot. He shakes a rattle a little too aggressively, and when the baby giggles, he smirks. “You like that, huh? Simple taste, kid.”
When it’s time to feed her, Tim approaches it like a mission. “Here’s your mushy food,” he says, spooning it into her mouth with surprising patience. If she spits it out, he mutters, “You’re lucky I like you.”
When the baby starts crying, Tim doesn’t panic. He’s used to dealing with chaos. He picks her up, rocks her gently, and says, “What’s the problem, huh? You’ll be alright.” His calm voice works wonders.
Though he’s not as openly playful as TwoBit, Tim has a dry sense of humor. “You got it easy, kid. No bills, no fights, and everyone feeds you. Must be nice.”
The baby grabs his finger at one point, and Tim freezes for a moment, unsure of what to do. When she smiles up at him, he chuckles softly and says, “You’re not so bad, are you?”
Tim approaches diaper changing like it’s a battlefield. “How can something so small make this big of a mess?” he grumbles. He gets it done quickly, though, proving he’s efficient even in unfamiliar territory.
Tim playfully holds her hands and says, “Alright, kid, let’s toughen you up. Gotta be ready for the world.” He pretends to teach her how to punch, lightly bumping her tiny fists against his hand.
When the baby gets sleepy, Tim sits in a rocking chair and holds her against his chest. He hums quietly an old tune his mom used to sing and feels a rare sense of peace.
Cool: Tim acts like babysitting was no big deal, shrugging and saying, “It wasn’t hard.” But his partner notices the way he glances at the baby with a hint of pride.
Later, Tim tells Curly about the experience, saying, “Kids aren’t so bad. She’s tougher than most people I know.” Curly just laughs and teases him for going soft.
Curly Shepard
Curly scoffs and says, “You gotta be kidding me. I don’t do diapers.” But when they gives him a serious look, he rolls his eyes and mutters, “Fine. But don’t expect me to enjoy it.”
Curly has no idea what to do when the baby is dropped off. He stares at her like she’s a bomb about to go off. “So… what do you do all day, huh? Cry and drool?”
When the baby reaches for him and giggles, Curly smirks despite himself. “You think I’m funny, huh? Guess you’re smarter than you look.”
Curly’s first instinct is to teach the baby something sneaky, like how to stick her tongue out or make funny noises. When she copies him, he laughs and says, “You’re gonna be a troublemaker, just like me.”
Feeding her is a disaster. Curly doesn’t bother with baby spoons; he tries to feed her straight from the jar. When she spits it out, he shrugs. “Can’t blame ya. This stuff’s gross.”
Curly gets a little too into playing. He pretends to wrestle with her stuffed animals, making exaggerated growling noises, which makes her laugh hysterically. “See? You’ve got good taste in fun.”
When the baby needs a diaper change, Curly freezes. “Oh, no. I am not doing that.” But when he realizes there’s no one else around, he reluctantly handles it, muttering, “This better be the last time.”
When the baby starts crying, Curly panics and says, “What’s wrong now? You were just fine!” He tries bouncing her on his hip, rocking her, and even bribing her with toys. Eventually, he figures out she just wanted her pacifier.
Curly talks to the baby like she’s one of the gang. “Alright, kid, here’s the deal you don’t cry, and I’ll make sure you have a good time.” The baby seems to go along with it, and he grins. “Smart kid.”
Despite his tough exterior, Curly can’t help but melt a little when the baby cuddles up to him. He quietly mutters, “You’re kinda cute, you know that?”
If Tim or another member of the gang stops by and sees him babysitting, they immediately start teasing him. “Look at you, Curly, Mr. Mom!” Curly scowls and says, “Shut up. She likes me better than you, anyway.”
Curly makes up wild stories about being a tough hood, complete with sound effects and dramatic gestures. The baby doesn’t understand a word but claps her hands excitedly.
When the baby starts rubbing her eyes, Curly puts her down in her crib and sits next to her until she falls asleep. “Finally. I thought you’d never quit,” he mutters, though he’s secretly proud he managed to calm her down.
When his partner comes back, they finds Curly sitting on the couch, looking exhausted but smug. “See? I kept her alive,” he says with a smirk.

Broke: no one is allowed to swear in the Curtis house because Darry is actually an 85 year old women and not a 20 year old kid who should be at the club
Woke: no one is allowed to swear in the Mathew’s house because two bit will deck whoever curses in front of his little sister

Just thinking about how Christmas Eve would be at the Curtises. How their mom would be making cookies with Ponyboy helping. Darry and their father decorating the house - they don’t have much, but they have a tree and a small string of lights. Sodapop sitting on the kitchen table so he can be the taste tester. And then after they all at and watched a Christmas movie (usually It’s a Wonderful Life, because it was Mrs. Curtis’ favorite.
That first Christmas after their parents die, it’s hard. Because not only are their parents dead, but Johnny and Dally are as well. The entire gang is grieving. But Soda really wants to do something - he loves holidays, and he doesn’t want this one ruined - so he works some extra shifts at the DX. He tells his brothers that he just wants some extra money. He ropes Steve into his scheme as well.
On Christmas Eve, Soda wakes up early (which he never does) and sneaks out of the house without even leaving a note. Him and Steve search the entirety of Tulsa for a tree. They managed to find a half dead tree from a seller who just wants to go home. They get it for two dollars (which is about twenty nowadays).
Somehow, they manage to sneak back to the Curtis home without anyone catching them. It isn’t until they have the tree in the corner of the living room that Pony sticks his head out of the kitchen.
That’s when Soda realizes that the house smells just like it used to when their mom made cookies.
Darry walks into the house now, his arms full of things that turn out to be presents.
It turns out all three of them had the same idea. To surprise their brothers with a reminder of the past.
And so, there’s a dead tree in the corner with gifts under it, cookies cooling in the kitchen, and the brothers (plus Steve) watching It ‘s a Wonderful Life on the TV.

Can I request the Curtis siblings with a sister who is obsessed with her looks
Summary: The Outsiders with a Curtis sibling who's obsessed with her looks Warnings: none Author's Note: none PONYBOY CURTIS He doesn't mind having a sister who is obsessed with her looks, as long as you don't get in his way when he's getting ready for school in the morning. He doesn't usually do a big routine before school but he hates being late so he prefers for you to stay in your corner and for him to stay in his. There's definitely a corner of the room that's totally dedicated to you and your makeup desk that your parents got you when you were just a little girl who liked to play with makeup. He's not ashamed of you as his sibling, especially since you always look super put together and well dressed. Sometimes you're even a ticket out of him getting cut up by some socs. Of course, being pretty makes you a very underestimated girl, sometimes Pony can forget that you can keep up with him while he's running and you get top marks. He remembers and then he just is so happy that he has some friendly competition. JOHNNY CADE He doesn't usually interact with you, Dally's got the idea that 'all girls are the same' nailed into his head. But he's friendly and open when you two talk. He's pleasantly suprised at how genuine and kind you are. He forgets that Dally's seen some rough things but also tends to exaggerate. So as his way of 'making up for it', he spends a lot of time hanging out with you. He did develope a little crush on you when he was younger, like WAYYY younger. But it was more of a "wow, it's a girl!!" kind of crush and it didn't amount to much. Currently, you two are rather close and when Pony's busy and he has nothing to do, you two will go out and just goof off and have fun together. SODAPOP CURTIS Unsuprisingly, Soda's pretty apperance-obsessed as well, he's like the 19--s version of men using hair masks as shampoo to get their hair shiny and smooth. Of course a lot of times those 'hair masks' are yours. You get along quite well despite the fact that sometimes he uses your stuff like he bought it. Which he probably did, he got it under the guise that it was for you but actually he bought it to test it. He likes to do face masks with you, it relaxes him and he genuinely likes taking care of his skin because he actually had some pretty bad acne in like middle school. You two get along realllly well, probably the best out of all your brothers because of this shared hobby. You do have to worry about some of your stuff going missing though. STEVE RANDLE On a scale of "How much Steve likes you," you're inbetween Pony and Soda. Pony being he's literally trying to blow that kid up with his mind and Soda he's frolicking with. He likes you because you're a Curtis, they're all cool and he likes you better than Pony because you don't give Darry and Soda heart attacks when things happen. You and him don't really interact much, only when he swings by the Curtis house. Sometimes he likes to look at your makeup and stuff but that's really all the interactions you've had. TWO BIT MATHEWS You and Two Bit are twins because you and his sister are twins. Like you two go out and have girls days because you're the only girl-siblings. He'll sometimes tag along because his mom makes him, so he'll buy you two ice-cream and stuff like that and maybe help you do his sister's makeup/face-paint. He genuinely really enjoys how you two get along, and tells you that when he gets really drunk. Because of that, you two have a strong bond. Sometimes he'll take you out some places without his sister, as friends. He's really grateful for your influence and he's also grateful that you're willing to spend time with him and his family. DARRY CURTIS
He secretly really likes the fact that you're well put together, because it shows that the gang isn't influencing you to become a 'bad person,' (for example, drink too much, let yourself go, like that stuff, not that Darry wouldn't love you if you were a tomboy LMAO) It also really reminds him of his mom, how she would spend a good amount of time putting herself together meticulously, sometimes even putting some blush on you and Darry when she caught you two watching for too long. Of course, its hard for him to afford your lifestyle, he's barely scraping by with two jobs and he always feels sooo bad for letting you down when you want to get something. He tries his hardest to make up for it with quality time, but you remind him that even though you really care about your looks, you care more for the family's security and that he doesn't need to 'make up' for the fact that you guys aren't broke because of a new foundation. DALLAS WINSTON To Dallas, you're just another girl. Doesn't matter if you're a Curtis, and/or part of the gang. He doesn't really care much about you, you're just another girl. He's definetly seen you in a 'I would date her' light, but quickly shut that down because a) Dallas is only into dating for one thing, and b) you're a curtis, and Darry would BEAT HIS ASSS. Sometimes you guys get along really well, especially when he's drunk and tired so he just lays on the couch and does nothing while you apply some fancy serum on his face. But other than that you don't talk much, he'll say hi if you see each other outside, but that's about it.

Easy bake ovens first hit the shelves in 1963…the boys using Two-bit’s little sister to at first earnestly try to make little things then the most diabolical concoctions they can think up… they pull to buy her a new one they absolutely wrecked that thing.

This thing could make TV dinners by 1967. Because everyone was obsessed with them 😭 lmao
I think it was JUST affordable enough for her to be able to have one but it’d have to be like THE Christmas gift that year.
