You pretty much gave me free reign to write whatever as long as it didn't include a few things, and this idea kinda just popped into my head fully formed. I hope you enjoy it!

New things I tried: As always, I wrote for fandoms and pairings I hadn't before. I also wrote original fic again after at least 10 years of not doing that. And my goal for this year was to practice smut, and I did, and at least I learned why I'm not very good at it, so I guess that's something XD

Fic I spent the most time on: Hm, I don’t know. I’m usually a quick writer once I have an idea. Maybe Gotta risk it for the biscuit, just because it's the longest fic I've written this year.

Fic I spent the least time on: As I said, I'm usually a quick writer anyway. It's probably one of those short prompt fics I did.

Favourite thing I wrote: Hmmm. Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within). I didn't plan to write smut there at all, but I love how it turned out.

Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected? Well, my goal was to write 50.000 words this year, and I did just a bit more, so I guess it's about what I expected :D

Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion: Most of my fics are rarepairs, so I never expect much feedback anyway. I did think that night watch and hard and fast would be more popular though. I know it's not the fandom's favourite pairing, and I very much wrote them for myself, but I didn't think that there was no audience at all for them. Ah well, they're still my OTP in that fandom.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within), because I hadn't planned to write it that way.

Biggest Disappointment: I mean, not getting feedback is always a bit disappointing, but all in all, there wasn't that much to be disapppointed about this year.

Biggest Surprise: I did not think I would ever write Detective Conan fic, and Heiji/Kazuha at that. If you told 12 year old me, she would think you were insane XD

My Favourite Part Of Fandom This Year: Getting into Steter. Both the Valentine's exchange and the Secret Santa were wonderful, and everyone is absolutely lovely and very generous with their feedback and comments.

Writing goals for next year: Write more original fic.

9. What fic meant the most to you to write?

Probably “A Notorious and Well Documented Disdain” which was my Steter Valentines fic. I came out of Steter Secret Santa last year feeling really burnt (I wrote a super dark fic at the request of my giftee, and then my giftee never read or acknowledged it), and I was thinking about taking a break from fandom after that. But I was encouraged to do the Valentines exchange and I wrote a fun, snarky, assholes to lovers fic that was well received and it really helped cleans my palate.

24. What’s something that surprised you while you were working on a fic? Did it change the story?

This year for Steter Week, I tried to so something I did 2 years ago, where I wrote a 15 min chapter of a larger connected stories using the prompts each day. I was on target for days 1-5 with “Gimme Danger” then it was my birthday and a lot happened, so I posted “day” 6 like a month and a half later… but in that month and a half Stiles grew a backstory and a deeper reason to be as involved in the story as he was, and it wasn’t that I was working on it in my head, per say, it was just that when I went back to finish chapter 6, I suddenly knew where it needed to go and it was a completely different direction than I had planned. (And yes, I still have to post chapter 7, but life, man. Life).

26. If you had to choose one, what was the MOST satisfying writing moment of your year?

I think I had the most fun and had an interesting challenge remixing Arara’s Steter Bang fic into “Illuminated.” I used to be really active in the BBC Merlin fandom, and they always had remix fests and no other fandom I’ve ever been in has embraced the remix like they did, so being able to bring some of that to TW (twice now) has been really, really get.

Hey, anyone up for a remix fest in 2024??? Just kidding… unless….

Uhm, whatever is standard on google docs? I think it's Calibri.

Uhh, that's probably something I wrote when I was about 15. It has over 100 handwritten pages, and my sister is the only person who's ever read it, or ever will read it XD Nowadays I only write short stories.

Funny you should ask XD I'm currently writing for the Steter Valentine's Exchange, and I think that's getting a little dark. But I can't publicly talk about that yet.

Generally, I'm mostly a fluff writer though, so my stories rarely get dark.

hey, sorry to bother you, but I'm kinda confused by the sign up process. are we matched to one person? are our offers matched to three different people? are we making potentially the three offers and additonally requests? and if this is just for one gift done per person, are we supposed to write what we offered or what is requested? tbh I feel a little overwhelmed, confused and stupid, I'm sorry

Hi! So first of all being confused and overwhelmed is understandable and should not be anything to make you feel bad about! I'm sorry I wasn't very clear darling. You typically give and receive one gift. But I have you fill out 3-5 requests because that give your gifter more room to work with and a better grasp of what you like!

That also means they can do more for you or you can do more for your giftee if their requests spark your inspiration! But they and you are not required to do anything more than the minimum limits written in the sign up post!

But the offers section is a little different. This is where you put in the tags what you are giving (i.e. fic, edit+playlist, art) and then you add tags that you like to create for! This section seems confusing when you fill it out but it's very important for me and the ao3 algorithm so I make sure you don't somehow get matched with someone who wants something you won't make!
