Peter only finds out he’s Stiles’s emergency contact when the hospital calls.

After the initial moment of confusion, in which he’s certain there’s been a mistake, the receptionist takes his silence for shock and falls over herself to promise Stiles is in good hands. His injuries are not life-altering. He’s young enough to bounce back in no time. The medical team handling his case is excellent.

Peter contemplates hanging up on her. It’s the same impulse he has with telemarketers: the flood of information is pointless. Negligible. Water is wet. Stiles is human. He’s always getting battered and bruised. Evidently, he doesn’t even take holiday weekends off.

No one could possibly hold Peter responsible for this.

But then, apparently someone does. Someone has listed Peter as an emergency contact, even in place of far more likely alternatives. Scott McCall, for a start. Or barring that, his gaggle of underlings. Not to mention Stiles’s own father.

That’s an intriguing detail.

By the time the receptionist has begun rattling off the rules for visiting hours, Peter has changed his mind. It’s an unusual situation. A minor mystery. And Peter has never been one to leave mysteries to rot.

So… I already have like 70 Sterek fic tabs open on my phone (there’s so many good authors in this fandom it’s not my fault!) but I was thinking that despite some fantastic tumblr posts about it I don’t think I’ve actually read a necromancer!Stiles fic.

I went through your fabulous tag page but I didn’t see one so hopefully I didn’t miss it. If you or your loverly followers have any recs I sure would appreciate it!

One thing he’s still not used to, however, is Stiles Stilinski.

(GUESS who is writing her first Steter smut??? So, naturally, I gotta celebrate that by teasing you with the scene leading up to the smut. I present to you, my No Hale Fire AU where Peter raised Malia alone, and Stiles still manages to get dragged into the supernatural and into the Hale Pack. Now, Stiles is trying really hard to seduce Malia's hot dad, while Peter is trying really hard to not get too close to his supposedly underage mate... until he learns that Stiles got held back a year. The full fic will be posted here and on AO3 on August 9th!)

“So—o,” Stiles’ eyes wandered over the kitchen and settled on the calendar. “Any plans for Mal’s upcoming birthday? Sweet seventeen. I know it’s sweet sixteen, but I think seventeen can be sweet too. I know what we have planned with her, but well. I always have special plans with my dad too on my birthday, so... Do you have any plans?”

Peter turned to look at the calendar too. Malia’s birthday was circled with a blue heart, two weeks from now. The smallest smile spread over his lips at the thought. A small noise from Stiles drew his attention back to the teen. The look on Stiles’ face was nearly smitten as he stared at Peter.

“I’m taking her camping,” Peter replied, to distract himself. “We’re spending the whole weekend in the mountains, hunting and enjoying the forest, and then I’ll bring her back home in time for her party in the evening that I know you have meticulously planned.”

“Nah, I did moderate planning. Lydia did the meticulous bits,” Stiles grinned. “But that sounds awesome. I didn’t know you guys hunted though.”

Oh, that was too tempting, Peter couldn’t help but flash his blue eyes and grin with sharp fangs. “Of course do we hunt, Stiles. We’re predators.”

The scent of arousal was so sudden and so strong, it made Peter growl. This boy tormented him.

“What about you,” Peter cleared his throat. “I mean, your seventeenth birthday?”

“Tha—at would require a time-machine,” Stiles blinked those pretty doe-eyes at him with a grin.

“Oh,” Peter blinked slowly. “I didn’t realize you were older than Malia.”

“I’m eighteen.”

Peter froze, his fork in his hand, hovering just in front of his mouth. “What.”

Those eyes again, eyelashes batting against pale cheeks as he blinked. “I’m eighteen. Have been for like three months now. I got held back a year when, well, when my mom died. Had just a couple too many panic attacks to keep up my school work and stuff. But hey, that’s how I ended up in the same class as Scotty, which inevitably brought me here, so there’s that.”

“You’re eighteen,” Peter repeated, dragging the word out.

He knew of Claudia Stilinski, of course, but he hadn’t known that Stiles had been held back because of it. As much as Peter wanted to focus on that part, on comforting his mate about his mother’s death, expressing his condolences, all he could focus on was the fact that his mate was legal.

“Uh… huh…?” Stiles looked very confused. “Okay. What am I missing here because I am missing something, you are being super weird right now.”

Peter was out of his chair in a moment and so was Stiles, jumping up startled by Peter’s sudden movement. With the lowest growl did Peter back Stiles up against the counter, until the boy bumped into it. His heart was racing but Peter didn’t smell any fear, only arousal. Again. Damn that boy.

“Three months,” Peter dragged the words out of himself. “I could have had you for three months.”

“What,” Stiles squeaked, so high it hurt Peter’s werewolf ears.

Peter braced himself on either side of Stiles, caging the teen between his arms. He leaned down, finally allowing himself to drag his nose along the length of that tempting, pale neck. A whimper. An actual whimper was what he got. Peter growled again, darker, possessive.

“I know you noticed that I’ve been avoiding you.”

“Y… Yeah. Honestly, I figured I was just making you uncomfortable with my horniness for your… everything… considering that werewolf senses are sharper, so you’ve probably been able to tell from the moment we met,” Stiles looked embarrassed by that. “So, yeah, didn’t take the avoidance personal, because I guess I would avoid someone too if I could smell them get horny for me all the time while I don’t want them but also this is giving me very confusing, different vibes.”

“I wasn’t avoiding you because of that,” Peter huffed out a breathy laugh. “I was avoiding you because of how much I want you, how much I need you. Because you are… were… the underage son of the sheriff and friend of my daughter. But you’re also mine.”

Another whimper, even more delicious than the first. “Wait, what.”

“You’re my mate,” Peter’s voice dropped, softer now, filled with the awe this fact bestowed upon him. “You’re mine. I knew it the moment you lot walked into the Hale House for the first time. And I’ve been avoiding you since then, willing to wait until your graduation, until you’re legal, but… if you’re telling me that you’re eighteen, right now, I will not wait for your graduation.”

“Wait… uhm… with what?”

“To claim what’s mine,” Peter purred pleased, licking a stripe up Stiles’ neck.

“Oh fuck,” Stiles gasped out, grabbing Peter’s arms. “Okay.”

“...Okay?” Peter reluctantly removed his face from Stiles’ neck to look at his mate.

“I mean,” Stiles let go of Peter so he could motion around a little with his hands. “I know about werewolf mates. I am literally friends with the three most insufferable pairs of True Mates in the existence of mates – and yes, I am fully calling it, as soon as Jackson receives the bite and turns into a werewolf, him and Lydia are going to have an epic True Mate realization. I know what True Mates mean for wolves, and I know how it works. It also really explains why I have been so ridiculously drawn to you, I mean, I know I like older guys, but damn you’re doing things to me.”

“I’d love to do things to you,” Peter offered the most wolfish grin.

Sunday Snippet

Felt like sharing more of what I’m working on, so here’s more from my Steter fic where Stiles takes off with Peter after season 1. @claire-guilty @nogitzune @aurevell @mirrorthoughts @lucky-bishop ,any of you have any projects you’re working on you want to share something from?

“Whoa,” Stiles says looking around their hotel, “This is nice.”

Peter doesn’t think it’s anything particularly special. It’s clean and has two rooms and a kitchenette, but it’s not up to his usual standards. They’re not in a big enough town for the kind of suites he’s used to though, so this will do.

”Glad you like it,” he tells Stiles. “Pick a room. They look identical, so I don’t care which. Shall I order in pizza, or do you want to go out?”

“Ordering in sounds good.”

Stiles disappears into the bedroom to the right after telling Peter what he likes on his pizza, and Peter makes the call for their order before wheeling his suitcase to the other room.

Stiles starts playing something obnoxious on his headphones that sounds like Stomp and Led Zeppelin had a tone deaf musical baby, and Peter rubs his temples.

It’s been a weird day. For someone who prides himself on his planning, this is so far outside any plan he’s made that it makes his head spin a little when he thinks about it. He’s not usually impulsive. He’s always been methodical. When he was thirteen he planned for six months how to get the popular girl to ask him out, and she did, setting Peter on a course of popularity for his entire high school career.

He played a sport and made sure he was an integral part of the team because he knew it meant he’d be far less likely to be punished for anything he got up to in his free time should the school administrators find out. Personally, he’d have rather spent his time in advanced English classes or in the poetry club, but nerds don’t get by with things; athletes do. It might not be fair, but he works with things the way they are, not the way he wishes they could be.

That’s why he never challenged it when Talia was picked for the Alpha. His skills have always lended him well to the position of left hand, and he used that free time, and the distance his pack kept from him, for his own uses. He did things he never would have been able to do had he been in training to be the alpha, and the results have been…lucrative.

Now he’s done this thing he doesn’t understand, but then Stiles has been stopping him in his tracks ever since he first met him, hasn’t he? He’s always been smart enough to be afraid of what Peter could do, but brave enough to defy him anyway. That is intriguing.

"You'd think so with their presence in pop culture but no bestiaries mention them. No other books I've read either, and I've searched." Scott pouted, but Stiles grinned. "Tough luck dude, I was always team Jacob anyways."

The Birthday Wish - 1/1 - T - Harringrove - “You’re just in time, pretty boy,” Billy said, pulling his pack of cigarettes out of the pocket of his denim jacket, followed by his Zippo and a… birthday candle. “In time for what?” Steve asked, confused as fuck. He didn’t even react to the pet name, he was kinda used to it. Truth be told, he hadn’t heard it for a while, since he wasn’t at school anymore, and he kinda missed it, not that he’d ever admit that to anyone. “‘m turning eighteen in a few minutes,” Billy said around the cigarette between his lips.

Hospital Blues (and a warm cut of tea) - 1/1 - T - Stommy - “Hey Tommy, It’s Steve, um, but you probably knew that.” The message starts, and Tommy freezes. Feels himself halting in place, right there in the middle of the kitchen. They hadn’t spoken in months. Not since all that shit with the Wheeler chick last year. When she ruined everything. I technically have a massive list of WIPs and Prompts I am constantly working from. I pick the ideas when they feel happy in my brain for "free time" writing - I actually meant to work on the office sex AU for the month of december but got whacked upside the head with Addabge Dmaddiage. UMS was my FIRST "long fic" ever so I am... feeling really, really invigorated.

in 2021 I climbed out of my writing hole where I hadn't written seriously in over a decade. That year, I wrote and shared 22,418 words by myself, and wrote half of a 69,599 (incomplete, part 1) role-play fic with a friend. At the start of 2022, I watched teen wolf for the first time because @sinnabon-cosplay is a menace and can't be stopped. It lit an absolute FIRE beneath me and I lost all control of my life. I started writing and drawing with a wholly renewed fury. I started doing way more events and wrote and posted 40,247 words. At the end of the year, I thought to myself - wow, wouldn't it be cool if i doubled my word count again? 80k? haha, that probably won't happen though. I'll be excited if I write and post 60k.

YALL. I wrote and posted 60k in ONE FIC. I wrote and posted over 120k?????? that's INSANE to me. I haven't had that much drive to create since I was in high school.

Teen Wolf is like... fixing my brain chemistry. I feel so invigorated.

Despite some setbacks with some REALLY unfortunate Sterek fans at the start of my experience here nearly tanking my creative drive, I've managed to stay on track without totally losing my love for the ship because of some rotten eggs. Shoutout to all my homies keeping the space worth hanging around in. I appreciate yall so much <3

Last year I said I wasn't going to sign up for so many events this year. As you can see, I lost control of my life.

Upcoming Events and Projects for 2024

Oh man! A ton of events, again, lol. I will probably sign up for at least one Valentine's Day event, like I mentioned above I'll be running @deterweek 2024, I'll be down for the Steter Bang and Steter Secret Santa again, and hopefully several months of the Stiles Shipping Central Exchange.

As for projects, also a ton. I can never just be working on one thing at once, lol. I currently have eight requests in my queue, one of which is going to be ready by early January. I have thirty-nine existing idea docs/WIPs for Teen Wolf (including that one request). Which is fucking insane of me. Actually. But for a short list of things that should be (or hopefully will be) coming in early 2024 are:

Pressing his lips into a thin line, Stiles nodded slowly to himself. Good. This was going better than expected. He had known he could ask anything of Peter, but he had still somehow expected resistance. Protest. Even annoyance, to be honest. After all, Peter was stuck with an obnoxious, loud-mouthed sixteen year old as his mate. Part of Stiles had thought Peter would be annoyed.

“I’ll not stop killing,” Peter offered as the silence between them stretched on. “If that’s going to be your next condition. I’m not done. I will not stop.”

“I won’t ask you to.”

At that, Peter’s head snapped over to stare at him in genuine surprise. “What.”

Turning his head, Stiles avoided looking at the Alpha. “They killed your entire family. Adults and children alike. Everyone you loved. Trapped you in your own body for years. They deserve it. The ones who did it. I will demand that you stop killing innocent people though. Like your nurse. Reign it in. Channel your anger and murderous tendencies toward those who deserve it.”

When Stiles looked up again, he saw a strange expression on Peter’s face at the word ‘deserve’. Like he couldn’t believe that Stiles would deem anyone deserved it. Well, he wasn’t Scott. He didn’t have that same belief in second chances and the goodness of every person. Someone who trapped an entire family in their home and set it aflame without hesitation didn’t deserve better. Though a part of Stiles suspected that the viciousness in his mind might also be linked to the mate-bond, may be Peter’s feelings bleeding through, or represent Stiles’ own ties to Peter’s pain.

“Very well,” Peter tilted his head, looking pleased with himself. “I… will not kill those who don’t deserve it, then. As long as you don’t try to stop me from killing those who do deserve it.”

Stiles nodded, sharply. Pleased with this agreement. They’d covered everything that Stiles deemed important. If Peter could adhere to these rules – well, honestly, Stiles didn’t know. Right now, looking at the other man, Stiles really didn’t know. Peter was handsome, sure. Stiles didn’t mind the age-gap, maybe it was even kind of hot. He was disturbed by how attractive he found the decisiveness and even the ruthlessness. Yes, Stiles was aware that he was a manipulative bastard himself, and he found that quality attractive in others – always had, as proven by his long-time crush on Lydia Martin. Stiles couldn’t tell what may happen in months, a year, who knew how long. It all really did depend on what Peter was going to do next.
