I also wanted to add onto this that Derek didn’t have to look for Stiles either. Like he necessarily didn’t really have to come back to Beacon Hills with Peter. He honestly didn’t have much of a storyline in season 3B anyway. And it’s like for me this season was one of the perfect ways to set these two up because last season Stiles found out about Derek’s past with Paige and what inevitably lead him to Kate. He figured that out too and with Peter helps. He also figured out about Kate on his own. He put the pieces together because he was genuinely interested. No one else wanted to know about why Derek was the way that it was. Stiles randomly found out about it on his own as well as getting bits and pieces of information from Peter.

Now let’s also talk about the fact that both of these young men, both of their feelings changed for one another. Stiles his feelings changed for Derek in season 3A because Paige. Because of learning why Derek was the way that he was and what led him to becoming who he is change Stiles’ tune. Just like in season 3B Derek learning about Stiles’ mom as well as all the other things that were happening to him changed his tune too. He definitely didn’t want anything to happen to the boy specially when it came to Chris. So the way I see it both of them, both of their feelings changed for one another within that full season.

Because I mean think about it Derek was in a moment of severe stress when Kate came back. To immediately go to Stiles in this moment of stress proved something. It proved something on a maximum level. Because why go to Stiles? Why not go to Scott? Because it will Stiles that had experience with this sort of thing and it was Stiles that was considered the smart one of the group. Plus as I said feelings started to change. So I strongly believe that in season four, it would’ve been best to just put the boys together. They already established a relationship, a slow burn one. They went from disliking each other to allies to whatever they were after that. They had a chance to become the ultimate OTP.



Sterek Canon We Don’t Talk About

Okay, so there’s at least two very important Sterek scenes that are pretty much never talked about or shown in videos or in fanfictions, and I’m going to talk about it because, you know, it’s canon!!

Let’s start with one that people just sort of completely forget ever happened, but is kinda important.

Waiting at the Hospital:

This is a canon scene in which we see Derek waiting with Scott for information on Stiles, and everyone just sort of…forgot about it, I guess? Maybe it’s because I hoard screencaps for my digital art and am constantly looking at it, but it’s a BIG DEAL.

First of all, the cinematography for this show is stunning, and one of the reasons that, despite not caring for all the queer-baiting, I have to love the show. These shots are so important: look at how well they’re balanced, like the visuals are trying to give us more story than just words can convey.

Derek and Scott are on equal footing while waiting for Stiles’ results. 

Here’s the most interesting part of this scene: Derek doesn’t need to be there. 

He’s not family, he’s not exactly considered a friend…but from this set of scenes we can conclude that he thinks of Stiles as part of the pack, because he is there worrying over him in the same way that Scott is.

BOOM, there it is.

This season was very clearly trying to set up links between these characters in different ways, and I think this was one of the ways; though they don’t consider themselves to be friends, Derek does consider Stiles to be pack.

Okay, the next scene.

Nogitsune Face-Off (not the one you’re thinking of):

I still don’t understand how people forget this scene! 

This happens at the school when Stiles is possessed by the nogitsune and then proceeds to have a faceoff on the iconic stairs against Derek and the twins.

How does no one remember this??

I love the shots and how they’re balanced visually, three and three. Both of these have camera angles from below. The nogitsune is calm and collected as he brings in the Oni to fight for him, while Derek and the twins are riled and agitated. Great balance.

This scene is also important because it’s when we lose one of the twins. 

(one of the most painful scenes for me, to be honest, because there was some great character progression of these two)

Also, Derek and Stiles are juxtapositioned in identical roles: leaders. Stiles and Derek are both natural born leaders that have never wanted to lead, but Derek’s wolf side and Stiles’ dark side are both smart and dangerous enough to be great leaders, and the parallels that are shown here are just amazing.

These are just two scenes that seem to slip past all the other Sterek shippers and I’m not sure why. Hope you enjoyed the analysis!

How the scenes should’ve went in season 4. Like this is perfect. Totally fits the vision for sleepy Sterek. It’s so cute. Credit to who ever did both. They’re truly amazing and look so damn real. It’s exactly how I’d imagine them being in bed together. Nothing like cuddles with the werewolf boyfriend. Or this totally could’ve fit the scene when Stiles has trouble getting in the right position in bed and Derek decides to cuddle him. I’m like this, just cross out all the Stalia and Draeden scenes and replace them with Sterek. Like if you envision that…it’s awesome as hell. Someone should totally rewrite these scenes. If they haven’t already. If there are scenes like this feel free to share! 😍😍😍

I feel like the reason they did that was to hype people up. And they knew that it wasn’t as hyped up as the Stiles and Derek scenes were going to be. Even though they were good they weren’t the best. I just feel like bringing these two characters back in a couple was a real slap to the Sterek fans faces because we all knew which character was meant to be bisexual and it was Stiles. It was never any indication that they were going to make a bisexual Jackson. If there were that it would be neat for them to have made him bisexual in season two at the end. Then the coming back season three as a bisexual Jackson. But they didn’t.

They decided to randomly make him bisexual crossing off Stiles as bisexual. We all know who was supposed to be the bi characters on the show and the first was supposed to be Stiles then Derek. This show really screwed up. I wouldn’t have minded Jethan or Jathan if Sterek had come first. Sterek could’ve been the testing the waters couple to see if they could really pull off a bisexual male pairing since they had a huge fan base. Then if Sterek did well they could have paved the way for more bi characters.
