Yet another Sterek idea.
So in this one.... The Hale family left Beacon Hills after the fire. They were called to protect another territory and another Nemeton. It worked out because being in the area where they were almost killed off entirely wasn't going to be great.
So Beacon Hills is unprotected until a family of Kitsune take over its protection. It's peaceful until their daughter gets caught up with a rogue alpha werewolf who turns her previously human boyfriend.
And that's how Scott and Stiles are initiated into the world of the Supernatural. Through a series of crazier and crazier situations, Stiles becomes the alpha of Beacon Hills.
Even though he's a human.
The Beacon Hills pack is bizarre to say the least. A human, a bitten wolf, a kitsune, a hunter, a kanima, and a banshee. Not to mention the veterinarian witch doctor, the hellhound deputy, and who knows what else.
Derek, his sister Laura, and their Uncle Peter are the Hale pack representatives sent to the United Packs Alliance meeting in the middle of the country. It's a meeting held every 3 years. EVERYONE has heard about the human alpha. For the first time in UPA history, every pack in the continent has sent in at least one pack member to see this bizarre event.
Everyone is gathered in a magically enlarged meeting space in an average sized hotel conference space when the Beacon Hills pack arrives. Late.
Being late would be noticeable enough but the electricity in the air is something no one could ignore. There's something powerful here.
When the doors open they just reveal a very normal pair of guys. A human and a wolf. But when all eyes shift to them, the human's eyes flash a very bright and brilliant red.
All Derek can think is.... Oh no, he's hot.

Teen wolf AU where Derek and Stiles meet and Derek is so confused because Stiles doesn’t *smell* like a wolf, but he seems to always pop up out of nowhere and show up where he doesn’t belong and always responds when Derek speaks too soft for human ears
But really Stiles is just nosy and researching his way to places he doesn’t belong and he reads Derek like a book so he’s just responding to vibes and accidentally tricks Derek into thinking he’s a werewolf without actually being one or trying to
#Derek is just dense and has never met a human like stiles#so he doesn’t know what to think#sterek#sterek fic idea#stiles stilinski#derek hale#i think this would be so so funny

Been meaning to write this Sterek fic forever -
Stiles and Derek are in an established relationship in BH. But it's Stiles' first year in College and no one has met Derek yet because of various Supernatural reasons stopping him from visiting.
Stiles goes as Little Red to a Halloween party on campus, and he lives with someone on a Theater degree who wants to practice special effects make-up. So he gets a massive "wolf" bite on his neck that looks ridiculously real. He posts a selfie of his costume (normal clothes, red hoodie, fluffy wolf ears, and bite mark) on the Beacon Hills group chat and his friends love it.
4 hours later he's in the club and gets pulled to one side. Derek's made the trip down to his College and he's fighting red eyes the whole time because even though he knows the bite mark is fake, his Wolf side is absolutely livid that Stiles is marked. So they basically end up making out against the wall.
Stiles' dorm mates are utterly confused by this because Stiles is in a committed relationship and yet he's making out with some guy in the corner.
Queue next morning hijinks when his dorm mates realise Stiles brought back a "stranger" back to his room and they all try to remind him that he's supposed to be in an exclusive committed relationship. And Derek's just listening in completely bemused.

Sterek fic idea where Stiles starts having visions post nogitsune (similar to Cordelia in the Angel show). His visions are excruciatingly painful, sap him of all energy, and generally are just so awful he’s usually down for the count for hours afterwards. Cue Derek taking his pain and being extremely worried about Stiles, being a hovery worried mess every time he has a vision.
I also had the idea that maybe stiles would take painkillers and try to hide how bad it is from the pack and then graduate from like, Tylenol to oxy and then from oxy to heroin because the visions get progressively worse until he’s half dead
Maybe there’s a mate bond ritual that, when completed, allows for the human mate to take on some of the wolf’s strength and so Derek confesses his feelings and convinces stiles to do the ritual

Starting from 1:40 dylan talks about him, hoech and tp playing video games on set and how he has a video of hoech and tp playing halo while in full wolf makeup and hoechlin being real competitive and shouting and now I need a sterek fic of them spending a day or weekend gaming but derek gets super competitive/into it to the point where he wolf's out bc of his emotions and stiles is like "dude chill out" and derek is like "I'm not your dude" and promptly wins/shoots stiles' character, jumps out of his seat and does a victorious "ha" maybe points a finger at stiles who's still going like wtf...
Idk
I do know I have too many wips/prompts already to add this to my list
#might be funnier if it isnt wven a competitive game but derek makes it competitive idk#or if derek loses at the end#hmm#sterek fic prompt#sterek fic idea#Youtube

Sterek AU (part one | part 2): Where Stiles and Derek knew each other before the fire, and when Derek returns seven years later Stiles realizes that Derek never really forgot about him quite at all. [AO3]
.
Stiles is slouched down in the hospital seat of the waiting room when he first meets Derek, long legs and knobby knees sprawled out in front of him, chin tucked into his neck as his father talks with the doctors in the other room.
He doesn’t even notice Derek come in.
“Hey there.” The voice is kind, sounds older than Stiles’ own too-young and cracking voice, and Stiles drags his eyes away from the scuffs in his shoes. The boy is older than Stiles, a teenager with dark hair and pale green eyes and sharp angles in his face. When he smiles it looks easy, fits his mouth like it’s something so often to appear. Stiles jolts up in his seat, shoves the back of his hand into his sleep-tinged eyes, red and swollen from crying. The boy chuckles, crouches down in front of Stiles so that they’re at level height. His eyes are more than just green, kind of yellow but not really, maybe a bit blue if Stiles squints. “I’m Derek,” he says. Derek has funny ears. “What’s your name?” he cocks his head to the side, a soft smile lingering on his mouth. Stiles sniffs through his nose, chews on his mouth. “Stiles,” he replies. “Nice to meet you, Stiles.” He offers Stiles a stick of gum. “Want one?” Derek has big hands, teenager hands, not at all like Stiles' eight-year-old hands, hands that are always twitching by his sides and touching things that shouldn’t be touched. “I’m not allowed to have sweets,” Stiles blurts out. Derek’s mouth tugs in amusement. He says, “I won’t tell, if…” Stiles snatches the candy from Derek’s hand, twists his neck around with wide eyes to make sure that no one is looking. He stuffs the gum in his mouth and watches as Derek rises to his feet. “I’ll see you around, maybe?” Derek says, playfully rubs a hand over Stiles’ buzz cut. “My cousin’s in the hospital.” He sounds sad, despite the casual way in which he holds himself. Stiles doesn’t want to talk about his mom. “Oh, by the way,” Derek turns by the doorway, hand splayed loosely against the frame as he peers over his shoulder at Stiles. “That’s sugar free gum.” - The Derek that is standing in the woods is nothing like the Derek that Stiles remembers him to be. He’s wearing a leather jacket with sleeves that hang around his fingers; his boots stomp heavily upon the forest floor when he approaches Scott and Stiles. “This is private property,” he tells them, in a voice that Stiles never remembers coming from those lips. He stares at Derek in some gaping form of horror and shock, as Derek stares back with stony eyes and a mouth set firm. It’s all Stiles can do to croak out some stuttered apology, rub a hand anxiously over his scalp and duck his face away, heart pounding in his lungs and making his hand shake in his pocket. Scott stuffs his inhaler into his jacket as Derek’s feet crunch down leaves and branches that snap in the echoing expanse of the quiet forest. Stiles can’t even watch his retreating form. “That’s Derek Hale,” he breathes out. And the words spoken aloud makes everything come crashing down around him, the smell of hospital halls and late night homework and Derek’s patient voice guiding him through too-hard mathematical questions, seven times six is forty-two. The stick of spearmint gum in Stiles’ pocket burns like an imprint against his palm.

Peter's Vows
When Derek is born, there is an earthquake. Beacon Hills is many things, but it is not a place of earthquakes. This is an anomaly, this sudden shaking of the land, and Peter watches Talia go through the pain of birthing a cub, and he makes note of how her cries resonate with the moving earth. As the baby is brought to the world of the living, the earth shakes more; giddy, Peter thinks of the land. Giddy at this baby's birth. That's what it is.
The town reels with the destruction, however minimal it seems to be. It is the strangeness of the earthquake that has the people in a panic, and it takes two days of Mayor Yukimura calling for council meetings and community barbecues that they begin to somehwat calm down.
The baby is named Derek on the first day itself, born underneath the Nemeton, his pale blue eyes reflecting the moonlight in silver hues. Talia sobs with relief, Nathan beside her, stroking her hair. Laura is back at the pack house, safely tucked in the bed, the rest of the pack members keeping watch. Talia had wanted to bring her with them, fearing the worst of the anomaly, but their mom had convinced her to not do it. The birth of the Alpha's cub is a big deal, but it is also private: only the Mate, Emissary and Left Hand are allowed to be present, for comfort, safety, and protection, respectively.
It has been tradition since ages, and Talia is the last person to break it.
Derek is a calm baby. Sleeps through the night, doesn't cry for attention. Only does it for feeding, his survival instinct as strong as his lungs. Peter adores him, even if he may never admit it to anyone.
He is also curious about the boy. Why an earthquake? It cannot be a coincidence. Truly, he wonders how some people can be so dumb. Calling it a coincidence is insulting to the Powers That Be, which must have called upon such a natural reaction of the land for a reason. Derek is a special boy, and Peter vows to find out how.
Besides his incredibly compassionate heart, that is.
It is in his eyes, which have slowly turned into a kaleidoscope of colors, the kindness of him. Derek's trust is not so easily earned, but once it is, it is extremely difficult to dislodge it.
Derek is a boy destined to become a kind man, one that will be an Alpha with mercy in his heart but cunning in his mind. Peter sees the makings of it right from the beginning, the way the boy will procure solutions to his own problems as well as those he deems important to him. Laura is the first born and thus has the claim to being the next Hale Alpha, however Peter knows, somehow, perhaps instinctually, that Derek will be the Alpha.
Another piece of the puzzle falls in place when their emissary falls pregnant. She's an amazing woman, Claudia. Peter likes her wit and humor, and he enjoys the perspective of her husband, the deputy, and if luck is on his side, soon-to-be Sheriff of Beacon Hills. Peter is happy for the couple.
He is, also, astonished to see an almost five-year-old Derek climb onto Claudia's lap one morning, his small fists rubbing against his eyes, and his nose scrunching determinedly to find a scent.
Peter remembers the conversation well.
"Derek, honey? What are you trying to find?"
"Mine," is what Derek growls in reply to Claudia, and shoves his nose against her barely-showing belly.
Peter's laughing figure is shot out of the end of the couch and onto the floor by Claudia's impeccable throw of one of the decorative pillows from said couch.
Thereafter, it was peculiar but not unseemly to find Derek following beside Claudia, his whole little being focused on the life forming inside her. And when the night came, Peter wasn't at all surprised to witness the thunderstorm.
Claudia had plans of giving birth in the hospital, but due to miscalculated steps, or simply because of reasons not privy to them, the best possible option left for her seemed to be below the Nemeton.
John had lost his damn mind at the prospect. "It's raining! Heavily!"
"Talia gave birth in an earthquake," Claudia says through gritted teeth, "And the baby doesn't care, nor do I, John. It is—"
Her words are cut off by another scream, and she is right, of course. It is time.
Talia, John, and Peter are the only ones who should go with her, but Derek, the little sneaky wolf that he seems to have become, follows them. It isn't until halfway through that John, the human, realizes his presence first.
They move forward with the determined little boy, who is all sopping wet in his wolf onesie, and really, this is no laughing matter. Except it is.
Claudia is brought below the Nemeton, and the tree, big and branching and beautiful, hums in their presence. The canopy of it sheds them some, but not completely.
And so, under hard rain and sharp thunderstorms, Mieczysław Stilinski is born, his little body almost white under the moonlight, and his eyes, when they open, a shock of topaz, like a glinting jewel; a fallen angel, Peter thinks.
Derek carefully wraps the baby in the blanket Talia removes from the packed bag, her movements locked onto her son's and the baby's, while John tends to his wife.
Peter watches. He notes the way the baby is calmest in Derek's arms, the way Derek is mesmerized.
This is more than just being True Mates.
True Mates itself are the rarest of occurrences, but something tells him this is more than that. The earthquake, and this sudden rain, in April of all things, simply cannot be coincidence. There must be a reason, one that Peter must uncover.
In the coming years, he dedicates his time to the quest, and finds that, oh, this is something unique indeed.
Unique to the point of legend.
Of course, he gathers facts before telling anyone. Derek's control goes onto the list, as does his ability to switch between his shift as easy as breathing. Having such control at the age of seven is almost impossible, but he has it without the growing ego that would have inflated anyone else's with the amount of praise he gets.
Stiles, as Derek had nicknamed Mieczysław almost immediately post his arrival in the world, is no human. His mother's line has some pretty strong magical abilities, but the kind of power that this boy exudes surpasses imagination. Nobody notices at first, not even Peter, until Stiles is a couple of months past his third birthday. It truly isn't until Derek, almost nine, comes down from his room one day into the kitchen, says, "Which packet, Stiles?" that they realize it.
"Honey, he isn't a wolf. He cannot hear you," Nathan tells him, but Derek just shrugs.
"He is for today."
Peter hears the, "Blue one! Blue one! Blue is sooo pretty, Derek!" from Stiles, who is definitely sitting in Derek's room, upstairs.
Derek grabs the blue packet and goes upstairs, and Peter follows, followed by Talia and Nathan, who beckon Claudia as well.
Stiles sitting on the floor, a myriad of toys around him, while the packets of chips sit beside him, torn open, evidently by Derek's claws, who himself is playing with Stiles.
And they're both being fed flying chips.
The three wolves turn to Claudia as one. Her shaking head and awed face is enough to clue them in, and really, Peter thinks, this is fucking incredible.
Powers don't manifest as early as this in magic wielders. They're more of the puberty package, tied to emotions at the beginning rather than will.
This is... defying it.
Peter loves to see when the next piece of the puzzle will fall.
And it does oh so enticingly.
Years later, when Derek is fourteen and Stiles is almost nine, comes the first trial. The Alpha Summit & The Argent Treaty.
Peter doesn't believe Gerard's words to do no harm, so he sets up precautions in place. It pays off, because during the summit, he almost ends up blinding Deaucalion — something that could have turned super bad if left unchecked.
Gerard's attack is met with swift retaliation, but somehow, only his goons end up dead. Gerard himself remains free, and through sheer will, maybe, the old man manages to kidnap Laura.
By the time the adults sniff out their cub, they're too late.
Not in the sense of Laura being hurt, but in the terms of missing the action, somewhat.
When they enter the warehouse, they are faced with Gerard being held down by a black wolf, fangs around his neck, the eyes of the creature a deep, ruby red. Deeper than Talia's. At first, they all assume it to be one of the visiting Alphas, but then they realize Stiles' presence, too, and it clicks.
Stiles frees Laura from the painful looking electric rod, and comes back to Derek, coaxes him back to his human form as Peter and Nathan take care of the psychopath.
Laura lets Talia mother her, and then says, "We'll have two Alphas."
Talia looks at the now human Derek, and eyes shining with pride, she nods. "Come here, both of you," she beckons, and the boys run, Stiles' chattering a comforting sound for all of them.
A few weeks later, Derek admits to everyone he has a new friend, and talks about her often. Paige this, Paige that. Laura teases him, restrained in her words, trying not to upset Derek's control. Even Cora pulls back. Stiles, though, is almost worse.
He riles Derek to the point of him using his Alpha voice to shut up, and the whole Pack silences itself, even Talia. Stiles, though — an exception to all things sane — doesn't back down. The voice doesn't work on him, and Derek isn't phased by it. However, the smell of guilt filters through their home, and Stiles' sigh is followed by comforting words. There is no apologizing though.
Soon, they'll learn from Derek himself that he hates that everyone is walking on eggshells. That is why he kept bringing up Paige, so that someone would tease him, uncle Peter, Laura, Cora. Or that Stiles would rile him up.
"Why would he, though? He should be happy for you. I am." Cora's words are met with a laugh from Derek, and a groan of embarrassement from Stiles.
"He's weirdly possessive — don't push me, you know you are."
"Alright," Stiles sighs, "I am."
"And Paige is a great friend, but I don't nearly think about her as much as I might have let you all believe."
And that is when Peter sees it. The blink-and-you-will-miss-it purple flash of Stiles' eyes. Peter doesn't put thought into why now; he simply focuses on completing the puzzle.
And he does. True Alpha and Purple Eyes? That's easy.
That's legend.
Set in stone as the first Alpha and the first Emissary as well as Spark, who, arguably, also set in stone the sword of Excalibur.
That part of the legend has questionable sources, though. Sure, Merlin Emrys is, as per theories, the most powerful sorcerer of all time, and Arthur Pendragon the greatest ruler, the once and future king, but it doesn't have as much merit.
What Peter is sure about is that somehow, the Powers That Be decided that this is the pack to send these two to.
He watches Stiles argue about the best type of pasta with Derek, and thinks, suddenly, that perhaps this is their happy ending. What legends end happy? None. So this must be their time to be happy.
Peter vows another quest, then. To always protect Derek and Stiles.

Okay but running with the Nemeton-created-Eli theory is just. Scary as hell but also really funny. Like imagine Stiles and Derek both feeling drawn out to the tree stump, confused as hell as to why they feel like they HAVE to get there, only to find baby Eli full on baby-in-a-basket-style.
So they take him to the station because duh they need to figure out who his parents are, so they run his dna but since his eyes flared they keep it quiet since they don’t think a social worker can handle a werewolf baby
And just who’s dna gets pinged?? None other than the (exonerated) murder suspect Derek Hale AND the delinquent sheriffs son Stiles Stilinski (who’s dad once booked him to try and scare him after he first stole the Jeep when he was like 14 (which definitely did not work))
Noah just reads the results, sighs so hard he nearly breaks something, and then goes to Derek’s loft where he and Stiles are babysitting the kid, and he can hear the bickering and sarcasm before he’s even through the front door
*then Stiles and Derek go on to raise Eli, Stiles decides he doesn’t want to be in the FBI and instead opens up a private investigation business specialising in supernatural shit, they buy a house together, they fall in love, Noah has flashbacks to raising Stiles whenever he babysits Eli and Derek has a family that loves him*

The pack is fighting a witch, now they don't really know how to fight a witch. Yeah, it would be easier if Stiles was there with them, but he had to go to this camp or whatever that Deaton said it was going to help with Stiles' new powers after the Nogitsune. So, they have zero idea what they're doing. Derek has enough and calls Stiles, gaining a glare from Scott, Isaac, Lydia, Malia and even Kira 'cause that's something they agreed they wouldn't do to not worry Stiles. Once Stiles picks up, Derek just casually asks "So...You know, not that we really need it right now but...Do you know how to kill a witch?" and Stiles is just like "Seriously? A witch is literally a human with magic, so just kill her the way you would with a regular human. Shot her, slash her throat, poison her, stab her...I don't know, pick one!" And then Lydia takes the phone off Derek and asks "My Banshee scream would kill her?" and Stiles replies "If your scream kills, then yes, just be careful with the rest of the pack." and then Lydia hangs up and gives Derek his phone back. Kira ends up killing the witch with her katana.
Stiles totally knew Derek was calling him about the witch because the pack was fighting a witch...He might have asked Deaton to keep him informed about the threats the pack is dealing during his absence.

Oh
I have an idea
In addition to bringing Derek back using the nemeton, what if Derek started haunting Stiles like Peter did to Lydia?
Obviously, it would have a completely different tone because they actually like (*cough* love) each other and Stiles very desperately wants to bring Derek back.
Stiles would go to Peter for help because wtf is he supposed to do with Derek haunting him and trying to come back? Just think of Peter's face when he finds out XD and he would help.
Ofc they'd get Derek back in the end because there's no universe where they wouldn't

Why do 90% of Sterek werewolf fics only have the beta transformation which is the 75% human and 25% wolf phase and the full phase which is 100% literal wolf? Like, they are werewolves, their best way to fight would be using the crinos form which is 50% human and 50% wolf, basically that werewolf form from the movie Van Helsing or Underworld, honestly it's a bit annoying as the coolest and most powerful form for they is to become a wolf whose only way to fight is to bite and scratch, the crinos form is totally for brutality and I don't understand why it isn't used much in TW's fics

The way I had an idea going in when writing that silly fun little percy jackson au with Sterek, and then realized, "Oh shit, there's some good shit to be explored with Stiles' parent being any of the gods"
Because at first I was gonna have his god parent be Aphrodite, with like the reverse effect that her kids have, making it so he's practically invisible in a crowd, like truly no one really notices him, he's kinda just a blurry face to remember if someone tried (except Derek, that was also gonna be a whole thing).
But then, when I was coming up with the second part, I had Stiles explaining how he was experimenting with different activities in order to find out who his mother was, and realized the things he's doing...would actually fit and work with a story where he is those gods' child.
"Stiles: I've been helping in the fields and gardens, not even to determine if Demeter is my mother, it's just...with who I grew up as my Ma, I always liked helping her in the garden or going out looking for plants in the preserve." -excerpt from the draft I wrote
^^^This shit could work with either Demeter or Persephone as his god parent!
Of course there's the most popular god I've read as Stiles parent, Athena, not much to explain there.
There was the one fic I read where he's related to both his canon parents and the goddess of magic, Hecate, which I loved, and yk with all the magic Stiles fics, it fits.
And then, I had an epiphany. Why limit myself to just the goddesses? When I could make Apollo his god parent, having him take after his prophet domain rather than the sun, and that's why he's able to tell who the big bad of the season is!!!
...as you can see, I'm stuck with all the possibilities 😓

AU where Stiles and Derek are both in high school and they have this long standing rivalry that started years ago back when they were still in elementary school and they hate each other, absolutely despise each other. Do they remember why? Not really, but they do know they must beat the other at all costs.
Derek is captain of the basketball team and Stiles does track. They both have trophies and awards, Derek has won the state championship ever since he started playing, and Stiles gets gold or silver in all of his events during competitions. Their GPA is exactly the same, Stiles is a History genius and Derek always aces English. They both suck at Chemistry, and they hate Harris. It's the only thing they ever agree on.
The only other highlight of their high school career besides their epic and everlasting hate-hate relationship is the anonymous person they've been talking to through annotated books.
Stiles blames his impulsiveness, because one day in freshman year he picked up a book full of little notes in the margin of the pages in the library and decided to answer all of them with his own little insights. Somehow he ends up having entire conversations made in intervals of a few days, in the form of words written on paper.
Derek? Well, he likes to annotate books and have mini conversations with himself, and he uses a pencil to write them, it’s not like he’s permanently damaging school property or anything! He starts caring less and less about that, though, when someone starts leaving answers to his annotations, much more invested on the conversations than on the preservation of school property.
Now, years later, about eighty percent of the library's books contain little messages and full blown conversations between two complete strangers. Stiles and Derek are about to graduate, and neither of them knows who this other person is. Which is a tragedy because they're pretty sure this mysterious person is the love of their life.
Spoiler alert: they're right.
#and then they spend the last few months before graduating trying to figure out who the other person is#without outright asking because they’re both dumb#they also start spending time together in person because of Reasons(tm) and realize ‘huh maybe he’s not so bad’#derek figures it out first and panics#stiles asks outright who it is at graduation (he begs lydia to give him 2 minutes of her valedictorian speech so he can ask lol)#it's all very dramatic and derek is mortified#but he still raises his hand#sterek#sterek au#stiles stilinski#derek hale#teen wolf#teen wolf au#sterek fanfic#fic idea#eternal sterek

I just found this song right
This is the most Sterek coded song I've ever heard.
The millions of possibilities that just exploded in my brain were unreal!!!
First of all, the name screams FIC TITLE like nothing else. It sounds perfect for them, no matter the POV. Stiles was Derek's anchor (no doubt, fight me Jeff), and Derek is Damaged™ from day 1. Him believing he is not enough for Stiles is practically canon. BUT as we get to know Stiles we learn that his Sarcasm and entire persona almost is his defence mechanism, and he gets chafted throughout the whole series - just a bingo card of mental health issues, so Damaged™ Pt.2. Plus we can also go the route of Stiles being magical and also needing an anchor.
And then there's the LYRICS, this song IS STEREK in less than 4 minutes.
