Pitched up the tent, chilled for an hour or so then watched as the sun slowly but surely crept it’s way above the horizon. There’s a certain fondness that comes with the solitude of exploring by one’s self. Moments of peace when the silence is deafening, enduring the hardships of the cruel weather for hours, only to be rewarded with a rare glimpse of how both light and darkness being cast over the vast landscapes, can be pleasing to the eye. Hiking for me is holistic in nature, enriching for the mind.
