Coping with the Future
Stefanie Preissner is not a new name to the Irish writing scene, but is one that’s getting called all the more frequently. Through her work in theatre, her critically acclaimed series, Can’t Cope Won’t Cope and her new book, Stefanie has gone from ‘one to watch’ to someone we’re all watching closely.
Cinders Editor @meabhmcdonnell sat down with Stefanie Preissner to discuss writing, advice and the new season of Can’t Cope Won’t Cope.

How Stefanie Preissner Lost 11 Stone in 18 Months With 'One Simple Rule' (VIDEO)
Stefanie Preissner says: “I was walking down Grafton Street one day before I lost the weight… and I was inspired by Victoria’s Secret. The shopfront was being built and it was covered in that black contact so it was kind of warped and I saw this person in the reflection. I thought ‘that’s a large person’ but then I got closer and realised it was me.” “I made my decision in that moment and did it.”

Stefanie Preissner: DIY – how hard can it be? And other famous last words…
[ad_1]
Is it just me, or has anyone else been tricked into thinking something that looks easy is totally within the realms of their capability?
I’ve been watching people paint homes since my mam was addicted to Changing Rooms in 1997. In those shows, the place goes from shabby to chic in less time than it takes to open a tin of paint.
I had no intention of painting my house during a pandemic. I…

The Conversation in Dublin
Ireland voted in two ground-breaking referendums in the last five years. The same sex marriage referendum and Irish abortion referendum have changed the lives of many women in the country forever. And the campaigns continue. The Irish people are expected to go the ballot again to vote on removing a clause from the Irish Constitution that effectively says a woman’s place is in the home.
The Conversation has gone to Dublin Castle to meet a panel of successful and outspoken influencers, each a trailblazer in their field and responsible for pushing the boundaries of what women are allowed to have and achieve. They discuss life after the referendums, and what’s next in the fight for equality in Ireland in front of a lively audience.
Ailbhe Smyth is a veteran feminist activist who led the Repeal the 8th Campaign and founded ‘Marriage Equality’ to fight for the rights of same sex couples to marry
Stefanie Preissner is a best-selling author, screenwriter and playwright and the creator of Ireland’s hit TV series ‘Can’t Cope Won’t Cope’
Nicci Daly is an Irish Hockey star, Motorsport engineer and founder of ‘Formula Females’, a campaign to promote women in motor racing
Dil Wickremasinghe is a ground-breaking broadcaster in mainstream Irish media who publically called out sexism in the workplace in 2017
