Steve prompt!!! Eddie is playing guitar and Steve is folding the laundry, while heâs fighting off a cold. Itâs not too bad yet, but itâs annoying and itâs got him feeling sniffly and worn out.
Thanks Anon!! Hereâs a lil drabble set in my streamer AU
*~*~*~*~*~*~
Itâs a quiet Sunday morning at the apartment. Saturdays were usually spent hanging out with friends, streaming/filming collabs, or doing conventions depending on the time of year.
Sundays have almost always been left for chores and a reset. Tidying up the apartment, doing excess dishes, any outstanding projects, and of course - laundry.
Eddie deep cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom earlier and was now taking a break, resting against the headboard of the shared bed - nothing but the rhythmic plucking of strings filling the silence.
The rhythmic plucking of strings⊠and Steveâs incessant sniffling. Eddie had spent the better part of this week watching his partner trying and failing to fight off a cold. It had finally taken up residence in Steveâs sinuses and left him more sniffly than he would prefer.
âSteve why donât you take a break? I can fold that later.â
âNâdo snff you already did the bathroom and SNF the kitchenâd.â
âYeah but youâre sick and-â
âHAESSSSH! ehâKTCHiew!!â
â-you keep doing thatâŠâ Eddie mumbled. âSteve youâre sneezing all over the clean laundry!â
âIâb sorry. Sâjust so tickly⊠hhh HIH!â
Seeing his breath start to catch, Eddie picked a shirt up out of the laundry pile and threw it in Steveâs face. His boyfriend only just managed to press his face into it before the eruption came.
âGâSHiew! Hhh HâmfTSH!!â
Eddie grimaced as a watery noseblow escaped Steve. The younger man peered into the shirt and made a face of disgust, grabbing the rest of the laundry off the bed.
âIâb gonna throw these back in the washâŠâ
âYeah good idea.â Eddie scoffed.

A Week With the Munsons
Based on my post:
Wayne gets the flu, followed very shortly by Eddie. Steve has been coming over to keep them company until he gets sick too.
Word Count: 1.6k | Canon - set in 1986
Eddie would be the first person to tell you that Wayne Munson is always on his feet working on something or helping someone. Eddie will ALSO be the first one to worry should there come a day that Wayne isnât up and about, covered in oil or dirt.
The 21 year old shut off the kitchen sink with his forearm, tossing the towel over the shoulder of his Hellfire shirt as he carried in a plate of toast, black coffee, and some Asprin with both hands.
âHow you feeling, old man?â
He phrased the question as a casual tease, but deep down, he was really worried.
âIâll tell ya Ed,â he coughed chestily, âI havenât had a flu this bad since 1963.â
Eddie frowned, setting the food down on the side table.
Heâd noticed his uncle seemed more tired than usual since the beginning of the week - chalked it up to long hours and not enough sleep. But now Wayne was laid up on the pullout and had called out of work for the second day in a row after having been sent home early two days ago.
âThatâs no good. Iâm sorry.â
Wayne coughed again, âWhatâs no good is you spending all your time looking after me. I can take care of myself.â
There was no heat behind the words, if anything, it was sympathy.
âI know you can.â Eddie started, âBut Iâm here to take care of you so youâre stuck with me!â
He faked an evil laugh, and retreated to the small table by the phone. His DND binder was out and he was planning for the next campaign.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
A few hours had passed and Wayne was snoring on the pullout. The campaign was sort of coming together, but after awhile, Eddieâs brain got foggy and it was hard to think of new ways to advance the plot.
There was a light knock at the door. Someone who wanted to let their presence known but also didnât want to disturb. Steve. Heâs been coming over the past day or two to keep Eddie company and help with the campaign brainstorming.
Eddie stood up, having to pause for a moment to stabilize himself. He answered the door while rubbing at his eyes.
âHey- are you okay?â Steve asked, voice hushed.
âYeah, just⊠got up too fast.â Eddie groaned, sniffling. âCome in.â
The younger man followed his partner inside the trailer, taking note of Wayne sleeping in the living room. âCame by to see if you needed help with your campaign.â
Eddie waved a hand dismissively in the air. âStarted working on it but wasnât feeling it right now. Thanks for coming.â He smiled, kissing Steve on the lips.
The pair made their way to the metalheadâs room where Steve perched on the edge of Eddieâs bed.
âSo howâs Wayne?â
âEhh, he hasnât gotten any worse but itâs super weird to see him down for this long.â Eddie pinched the bridge of his nose, âI mean you know him. Heâs usually soâŠ? Active n shit.. hhh HâxCHT! GâtSCH! NâxxT!â
Eddie rocked forward with each stifle, trying not to wake his uncle in the next room.
âBless you!â Steve exclaimed.
âNgh. Thanks.â The older man sniffled wetly against the back of his hand, a barely noticeable shiver rattling through his body. âSâcold.â
Eddie opened his small closet and grabbed a black hoodie, pulling it over his head. The newly developed tickle in his nose was not going away.
He grabbed the collar of the sweatshirt with both hands and ducked down inside, trying to muffle the sound. âPtssch! MâptCHh! ⊠hâkTSCHiew!â
When he looked back up, Steve was now standing in front of him, looking concerned.
Steve gently reached a hand up, resting it on his boyfriends forehead behind the bangs. âYou donât sound too hot, Eds, are you catching this flu?â
Eddie sniffled helplessly into the sleeve of his jacket, âNâdo.â
Steve cocked his head and raised a questioning eyebrow.
âYes??â Eddie asked, looking at Steve for the verdict.
Feeling the warmth radiating off of his partner, Steve nodded, frowning.
âFuck. I thought I was just tired.â Eddie scrubbed at his face.
âLetâs go take a nap then babe.â Steveâs voice was so soft and tempting.
âThatâs so boring for you though. You can go home, Iâd understand.â
âAnd leave you and Wayne here sick? No chance. Iâll just put something on the tv with the volume real low.â
âAre you sure?â
âIâm positive.â
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Steve is relaxing on the couch with the living room tv on a super low volume. His arm is around Eddie, who has curled into the smallest ball on Steveâs lap with a blanket over him and a box of tissues tucked under his arm.
Itâs probably about 4pm when Wayne blinks himself awake, groaning slightly as he props himself up on the pullout.
âHey Mr.Munson.â Steve waves from the couch.
âYou can call me Wayne, kiddo. Whatâre you watching?â
Steve grins, âFerris Bueller. Wanna join?â
âSure.â
Wayne sits all the way up and sips at his glass of water from the table when he really notices Eddie. His nephewâs lips are slightly parted, a familiar congested snore escaping them. He takes note of the tissue box under his arm and the fever flush dusted across his cheeks.
âAw crap.â He sighs, feeling guilty. âEddie too?â
Steve nods, âHe went down pretty quick. How are you feeling?â
The eldest Munson shrugs, âBeen better. Been worse. I feel like I should get him to bed.â
Wayne nods towards Eddie, uncle instincts kicking in. âIâm sure heâs like a personal heater over there.â
Steve chuckles and nods. His boyfriend is absolutely throwing off heat waves right now.
The brunette rubs his partnerâs arm and leans down to speak softly. âHey buddy, letâs get you into your own bed, hmm?â
Eddie shifted slightly, letting out a small groan that turned into a cough.
âCome on son, if you go lay down Iâll make you some jello water.â Wayne stood up and was now hovering over his nephew, trying to encourage some movement.
Eddie opened his eyes, only half there, slowly getting up with the blanket still draped around him. Steve guided him down the short hallway to the bedroom where he flopped onto the bed and resumed his curled position.
âIâll be back in a second.â Steve said softly before joining Wayne at the stovetop where he was boiling some water.
âWhen Eddie was little,â Wayne started as he stirred the water, âIâd make him jello water when he got sick. Sâbasically just jello that ainât solid yet. Tastes like candy but keeps him hydrated. Told him it would make him feel better and I think he still believes it.â
Steve smiled as Wayne coughed into his shoulder before adding the jello pack and some cold water.
âSo thatâs the trick then, huh?â Steve laughed. âMy parents used to just stick me in a cold shower and then send me out to school.â
The man tried to hide the sadness behind his eyes. âWell next time youâre sick Iâll make you some jello water too. And you can try some now as well!â
He spooned a little into two plastic cups that had probably been there since Eddie was a child.
Steve grabbed two to head into Eddieâs room, âThanks Wayne.â
The man nodded, retreating back to the pullout. When Steve got to the bedroom, Eddie was sat up blowing his nose.
âHâetCHuhew!! snrkkâ he tossed the practically soaked tissue to the side and grabbed a fresh one. âThis is awful. Is that mâby jello water?â
âYeah,â Steve handed a cup over and Eddie downed it, lying back down.
Steve drank his too and crawled under the covers, where Eddie immediately wrapped himself around Steve. He looked up at the younger man, âI love you. Thanks for staying with mâbe even though weâre all gross.â
âLucky for you, youâre still adorable.â
*~*~*~*~*~*~
Wayne awoke the next morning to the sound of some clamoring in the kitchen and some coughing.
He peeked over at the clock - 9:47am. Despite it being late in the morning, the trailer was dark and quiet - the sure fire way to tell that the Munsons were sick.
âAlright there Ed?â Wayne sat up, ready to go take care of whatever his nephew was doing. Upon looking though, he realized it wasnât Eddie. âSteve?â
The 20 year old looked up, he was pale with a thin layer of sweat on his forehead. Hair sticking up in every direction. He coughed again into his elbow.
âIâm sorry, I was getting some water. I didnât mean to wake you.â He was clearly flustered.
âYou okay bud? You seem out of it.â Wayne approached slowly.
âYeah Iâm fine. Umm I actually think Iâm sick, I was gonna head homeâŠâ
âNo no no,â now it was Steveâs turn to have his forehead felt, âYouâre in no condition to drive. Youâll stay with us and Iâll take care of you boys. Iâm feeling a little better today.â
âButâŠâ
âNo buts. Youâre one of us. Get back in bed and Iâll make you both some jello water.â

Decided to write a lil something something requested by @nametakensff - please enjoy some Rockstar AU Steddie with kink!Steve and sick!Eddie
Eddie is still exploring the link and figuring out how he vibes with it all
AS PER USUAL - MINORS DNI - NSFW
âiiâTCH! Gâtsh! ⊠HâeKTshiew!â
âBless you!â
Eddie sniffled thickly against his wrist and brushed the loose strands out hair out of his face. He was sitting on one of the barstools in his apartment playing some chords on his guitar.
âTake a break Eds! Youâre gonna get your guitar all germy.â Steve called from the sofa in the living room.
The open layout of the rockerâs apartment made for easy conversation - the downside being that there was no hiding his sneezes especially not from Steve.
âI canât get it germy, Steven, because Iâm not sick.â
The retort came out practically as a rasp, the older man clearing his throat and then coughing.
Steve rolled his eyes at his boyfriend as Eddie twisted the cap off his water bottle and took a few sips.
âYou know you donât have to do that.â
âDo what?â Eddie took the hair tie off his wrist and started tying his curls up into a loose bun.
âDenying the sickness. Weâre not on tour anymore, you have literally no commitments. Youâre allowed to rest Eddie.â
The man stood up from the stool, hanging his guitar back on the wall and then padding over to the sofa.
Quicker than ever, he twisted away, hovering a bent arm several inches away from his face.
âEhâTSZziew! TâsSHuhew! iâKSHTzz!â
The (practically uncovered) sneezes sprayed the air in front of him. The balcony window backlighting the spray in a show for Steve.
Eddie snapped back up, turning towards Steve, âwhew! Sorry. That was gro-â
Steve had crossed his legs on the couch and flushed in the face. Eddie raised an eyebrow and cheekily put his hands on his hips.
âColor mâbe impressed! Even that???â
Steve closed his eyes and nodded, slightly embarrassed to be put on the spot. Eddieâs known about the kink for months now. Eddie has been experimenting with it every now and then - indulging Steve while feeling things out for himself.
Feeling mischievous (and admittedly horny), Eddie flopped face forward onto the couch, resting his head in Steveâs lap. He rubbed the damp tip of his nose into the hip of Steveâs sweatpants.
âI nâdeed a tissue.â
Steve looked and saw the box all the way across the room where Eddie was playing guitar earlier.
âI can get them for you, just let me get upâŠâ
âNo.â Eddie whined. âStay.â
He looked up at Steve and winked. Steve, now catching on, made an offer Eddie couldnât resist.
âDo you wanna⊠you can use my pants for now.â
Eddie nodded and helped Steve out of the sweatpants, his erect member springing to freedom in his boxers.
âAwwww, for me?â Eddie teased, playfully flicking it and grinning devilishly.
Steve nodded again, rubbing Eddieâs arm that was propping him up.
âCan you help me with a tickle?â Eddie asked, guiding Steveâs hand to the bridge of his nose. âRight here.â
Steve bit his lip and traced the bridge with a slight pressure, gently rolling the tip of Eddieâs nose before moving back up.
His boyfriendâs nostrils flickered, pressing against Steveâs fingertips.
âHAESSH! GâtchIEW! .. h-hh- HâiiTSCH!â
Eddie crumpled forward, sneezing directly onto the tall bulge emerging in Steveâs boxers, spraying it each time.
âUgh fuck!â Steve moaned, his cock twitching in the familiar rhythm that meant Eddie had done his job.
The rocker looked at the stain on Steveâs underwear and then looked up at him and smirked.
âLooks like we both need those tissues now.â

Sicktember Day 11 - Beginners Guide to Faking Sick
Fandom: Stranger Things; Streamer AU
Summary: Eddie teaches you by way of vlog how to properly fake sick to get out of an event. Yes he uses chhinkniâŠ
Word Count: 950
Eddieâs camera pointed towards where he was sitting at his gaming desk. He knew he had to film this quick while Steve was out buying groceries.
âWhatâs up guy! Iâm back again and today we have to be quick while Steveâs out. Thereâs an event tomorrow that I really donât want to go to⊠so Iâm filming a little How To.â
He smirked to himself, âThis is the beginnersâ guide to faking sick.â
He removed the camera from the tripod and held it vlogging style as he paced around his room.
âA lot of people are gonna try and go for the fake chicken pox or stomach bug. Itâs too complex!!! You want this shit to be two things. Believable and basic.â
âI used to try this stuff out as a kid, so Iâve basically perfected the act of faking sick. You canât make it too medically scary or theyâll send ya to a doctor. We donât want that. And itâs gotta be something you can keep up for a day or so. The trick is starting early so itâs not too suspicious.â
He set the camera down on one of the desk shelves as he used a key to open this small package on the desk.
âThis stuff? This is supposedly going to be our miracle worker. Itâs called chinky or cheeknee or something? Anyways itâs spelled like this.â
He holds the package of Chhinkni to the camera, his hand flat behind it so itâll focus on the little vial inside the packaging.
âSupposed to make you sneeze I guess? Anyways - OOP!â
There was a thud of the front door closing before the muffled call came out, âEddie Iâm back! Can I get a hand with the groceries please?â
âHeâs back! Gotta be fastâŠâ
Eddie quickly unscrewed the cap of the vial and tapped some of the powder out onto the back of his hand.
âHere goes nothing.â He snorted it, making a face and scrunching his nose up, âOooooh! That is something! Letâs see if it works.â
Still vlogging, he made his way out to the kitchen as if nothing had happened.
âSteve just got back from the store. Lemme set you guys down so I can help him with these grehhhh ugh.. SnF! Groceries⊠hâisssSHEW!! TâszuHEW! iiâKSHT!â
The older man pitched forward sneezing openly at the floor, away from Steve.
âBless you! Cover those sneezes, Edâs.â Steve winced, leaning slightly away as he unbagged the apples.
âSorry, donât know whatâs going on. Been sneezing since you leftâŠâ Eddie lied.
He brought his left elbow up to his mouth, right arm holding it in place as he pitched forward again.
âGâtCHUhh! HâxxT! âŠ.mpTSCH! hih.. EHâisshHiew!!â
Steve pressed a hand to Eddieâs forehead. âYou feeling okay, bug? Those sound more⊠desperate than normal and itâs not allergy seasonâŠâ
The older man sniffled wetly against the back of his hand, making Steve grimace. âMy throatâs a little scratchy but Iâm okay.â
Steve put a hand on the small of Eddieâs back and ushered him towards the couch. âYou go chill while I unload these. If you are sick I donât want your germs on my vegetables. Take your camera.â
Eddie faked a pout as he shuffled off to the sofa. âI got kicked out of the kitchen guysâŠâ
*~*~*~
The next morning, Eddie is up early and sneaks off to the bathroom.
âOkay guys this is where the real acting comes in play.â He whispers. âIâm about to make myself look disheveled, but weâre also going to make use of a heating pad I borrowed from Robin and that chickeny stuff again.â
His hair is already messy from sleep, and he scrubs aggressively at his nose until itâs tinged slightly pink with irritation. He holds the heating pad up for the camera before pressing it to his face and the back of his neck for a while, fake coughing into his shirt to slightly muffle the sound.
He stashes the heating pad under the sink and snorts some more powder, grabbing some tissues for an extra pitiful look.
It doesnât take long for the powder to start working, his inner nostrils absolutely buzzing with a tickle.
âHâetSHiew! ItssSH!! HâeSSHihew!â
He coughs loudly again until he hears Steve turn in the bed.
âEddie? You okay?â The younger manâs voice is groggy with sleep.
âIâb okay Steve, go back to bed.. TSZIEW!â
Eddie turns off the camera and hides it before opening the door to head back towards the bed where Steve is sitting upright.
âYou look awful.â Steve comments, pressing a hand once again to Eddieâs forehead, âand youâre really warm, Eds. I think youâre sick.â
âHepâTsCh!â Eddie muffled a sneeze into his fistful of tissues. âThink youâre right.â
Steve frowns, âIâll cancel brunch with my aunt then.â
âNo no you donât have to do that. Iâm okay Steve, you should go.â
Steve hesitates, âAre you sure?â
Eddie nods and gives a weak smile. âIâm snff Iâm sure.â
*~*~*~
While Steve is at brunch, Eddie is at his desk editing the video. He chuckles to himself at the ending shot of him vlog style waving to Steve as he leaves for the brunch alone. As soon as the door shuts, Eddie perks up and says, âTHAT is how you fake sick.â
He posts the video after two hours of editing and goes back to the couch to the couch to scroll on his phone. When Steve comes back, he sees Eddieâs posted something.
âPre-recorded video?â He asks the boyfriend on the couch.
âSomething like that.â
As soon as Steve opens it and sees the title, he slaps his phone onto the table.
âEDDIE!!!!!â

Fever Pitch
Fandom: Stranger Things; Doctors Office AU
Word Count: 10k
Summary: Doctor!Eddie gets super sick, but refuses to admit that doctors can get sick too. Eddie spends half the week grumpy and annoyed until he finally breaks in the most whumpy way.
CW: Flashback mentions of domestic abuse // gunshot wounds, minor mess
Monday, April 3rd
âHey! Earth to Eddie??â
Eddie blinks himself back to reality and realizes heâs been staring at his mug of black coffee for a few minutes.
âSorry what?â
Steve shakes his head and laughs, âI asked if youâre almost ready to go? Itâs 6:58.â
âYeah!â Eddie grabs his travel mug from the cabinet and empties the contents of his coffee mug into it, dropping the mug in the sink, âGood to go. Sorry, just a little spacey this morning I guessâŠâ
Steve grabs the car keys off the hook and opens the front door, still chuckling, âI can see that.â
---
Usually the drive to work is filled with banter, but today Eddie is tired in a way he almost canât explain. His ears feel weird too and he canât quite place it.
Steve parks the car in their usual spot and they both get out. The bell chimes above them as they enter through the back door.
âGood mooooorning!â Comes a voice down the hall. Robin.
âMorning Robin!â They call out in unison.
Eddie heads to his office, slumping into his chair and turning the computer on, while Steve makes his way towards his station where Nancy is waiting and Robin is hanging out.
The dirty blonde is sitting on Steveâs desk, kicking her feet talking to Nancy. Steve approaches his childhood best friend and jokingly waves the air at her. âShoo! Off my desk.â
She playfully sticks her tongue out at him and hops off. âI just opened the front. First patient isnât until 7:45 I think?â
Steve nods in acknowledgement as he logs onto his own computer, eyes not breaking from the screen.
âThatâll be good. Give Eddie a minute. Heâs being kinda weird and quiet today.â
Nancy and Robin exchange a brief look of worry.
âYou talking about me in here?â Eddie wanders in.
âJust shit talking you behind your back, obviously.â Robin teases.
Eddie breaks character and laughs, playfully punching her arm. âWell donât let me interrupt. Needed a new pen. My favorite one just ran out of ink.â
Steve opens his backpack and pulls out a fresh pen, holding it over his head for Eddie to take. The older man grabs it, slightly disappointed that itâs ballpoint and not gel. Trivial, sure, but a small detail that makes his morning that much more irritating.
He disappears back towards his office as Robin speaks up.
âWell I guess I should get to work too. Iâm sure our first patient will be here soon.â
She heads up to the front of the office and sits at her desk previewing the schedule for the day. All things considered, itâs actually pretty light for a Monday. Billy is off today and tomorrow, so itâs just Eddie and Nancy.
The front door bell chimes and Robin looks up to lock eyes with Mr.Gilmore (Mickey, please).
âHey Mr.G! How are you?â She asks in her bubbly voice.
âOh just fine, sweetheart. Checking in for 7:45. I think my wife is coming in later.â
The man starts to scribble his name on the check in sheet while Robin skims the schedule.
âWould ya look at that! She is coming in at 2:30.â Robin smiled, âYou know the drill then, Mickey. Steve will be out to get you in just a second okay?â
He nods and takes his seat in the waiting room. The doorbell rings again as Robin stands up.
âGood Morning Mrs.Harris. Go ahead and get yourself signed in. Thereâs no copay today. Give me one second and Iâll tell Steve youâre here too.â She grabs both charts, Mickeyâs on top since his appointment is first.
âFirst two for you, Steve-o.â She says, handing off the charts to her friend.
He runs a hand through his hair as he looks over them. âYeah alright. Let me bring Mickey back and into a room and then Iâll come back for Gina.â
---
âWell your labs look fantastic, Mickey. Great improvement since the last time. If everythingâs working for you I think weâll keep your meds at the same dosage and follow up in a few months?â
âSounds great, Doctor Munson.â The man reaches out and gives Eddie a handshake before standing up to head out.
âGo ahead and go up to the front. Robin will check you out shortly.â
Eddie could hear muffled talking in the room next door. Nancy was probably in there with Gina.
âHey Steve can you bring this to Robin?â He holds out Mickeyâs chart with his scribbled notes on it.
Steve gives Eddie a once over, but agrees, taking the chart and heading back to the front. Eddie, on the other hand, went back to his office and uncapped his travel mug of coffee, sipping generously. Why wasnât the caffeine waking him up like it usually did??
As he swallowed, he finally was able to pinpoint the weird feeling in his ears. It was a sticky sort of pain deep inside that sometimes happened when- his throat was sore.
Shit. A sore throat was truly the last thing he needed. Maybe it would get better as the day went on if he tried to talk less?
---
A few hours passed by, and instead of getting better, Eddie only felt worse. The twinge in his throat was more of a dull ache now, and worst of all, his throat was scratchy in a way that made him want to gag.
As soon as he was done with the last patient before lunch, he beelined for the break room to make himself some more coffee.
The Keurig spurted and hissed as it produced a small latte in his travel mug.
âBabe youâre having more coffee? Youâre gonna be up all night.â Steve came up behind him and squeezed his shoulder.
âWhat are you, my mom??â Eddie snipped.
âGeez, Iâm just asking. Whatâs up with you today??â Steve tried to hide the fact that he was a little hurt.
âNothingâs up with me, Steve. Just getting coffee because Iâm tired.â The older man grumbled and walked back towards his office and shut the door behind him.
âWhat was that all about?â Nancy asked as she and Robin joined too, pulling their lunches out of the fridge.
âHell if I know. Apparently the man just wants to be fueled with caffeine.â Steve rolled his eyes and sat down with his salad, âSo how was your guysâ weekends?â
---
Its 2:15 now. Lunch has been over for a while. Heâs seen a few more patients already and his coffee is now gone. He wants more but Steve is right - heâd be lucky if he gets to sleep tonight as is.
Thereâs a knock on his open door that gets his attention. Itâs Robin and the iPad.
âHey Doc, can you sign this for me?â She asks, holding out the iPad for him to take.
âHave I ever NOT signed it for you??â He asks in a tone way grumpier than heâd expected.
Shit why did he say that.
âNo⊠sorry, I just didnât want to assumeâŠâ
âYouâre fine Birdie, Iâm sorry. Iâm just⊠in a mood today apparently.â
He signs for the meds and hands it back to her.
Robin shrugs, âIt happens. Mrs.Gilmore is here early by the way. Steves probably coming through with her chart soon.â
Eddie sighs as he stands up. If he could just finish the last four patients he could go home.
---
Steveâs humming to himself in the kitchen as he cooks the pasta. Spaghetti with brown butter and tomato basil sauce is a recent favorite of his and he took it upon himself too cook for the two of them tonight
His phone buzzes. A text from Robin.
Whatâs cookin, good lookin?
He rolled his eyes. Since he started cooking new dishes, sheâd been requesting photos of his food. He sent a pic back of the pasta in the pot of water.
Nothing fancy⊠yet. Spaghetti with tomato basil and brown butter sauce.
đ€€Eddieâs the luckiest guy I swear.
Steve looks over his shoulder. After confirming Eddie was still in the shower, he types back.
Eh⊠heâs still kinda prickly. I think heâs getting sick or something.
Doctors donât get sick, remember Steve?? đ€
Steve chuckles to himself. By now, everyone at Hawkins Medical is familiar with Eddie Munson and his âDoctors Donât Get Sickâ one man show. Heâs about to say something witty back when the bathroom door opens and small amounts of steam billow out.
One sec - he just got out of the showerâŠ
Eddie pads over to the table, rubbing at his eyes with the heel of his hand.
âJust in time!â Steve offers a smile as he drains the pasta. âSpaghetti just finished. Pot of brown butter on the left. Tomato basil on the right. Pick your poison.â
Steveâs already plating his own dinner, when Eddie coughs into his shoulder, following behind with the smallest scoop of pasta and a tiny bit of sauce.
âThatâs all youâre gonna eat?â Steve asks after Eddie takes a small bite.
âMânot hungry.â Eddie lies, but Steve doesnât miss the way he winces when he took a sip of water.
âAre you okay?â
âFine.â Eddie insists, âIâm not hungry.â
He goes to clear his throat but it catches, making him cough painfully into his fist. Eddie tries to blink back the pain, each cough scraping the back of his throat.
âDoes your throat hurt?â
Eddie pushes away from the table, âI said Iâm fucking fine Steve.â
âHey, watch the attitude. Iâm just asking!â
âWhatever.â Eddie grumbles, setting his plate by the sink, âIâm going to bed.â
He storms off to the bedroom, door closing behind him. Steve rolls his eyes and reaches for his phone again, sending a text to Robin.
Definitely sick. He just screamed at me for asking if his throat hurt đ
Steve threw his phone down after sending the text and finished his pasta by himself.
*****
Tuesday, April 4th
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
The joint alarm for 6:15am pierces through the fog in Eddieâs brain. Apart from the blaring alarm, the first thing he notices is that his throat hurts. BAD. Itâs now a scratchy ache that burns when he swallows.
Steve turns the alarm off and groans, rolling out of bed to brush his teeth. Eddie takes the opportunity to lay there a little bit longer, squeezing his eyes shut. His head aches at the front of his forehead and all he wants to do is go back to sleep.
âYou want coffee too Eds?â Steve asks on his way from their bathroom to the kitchen.
The older man tries to speak but coughs instead. He clears his throat and groans, âYes please.â
âComing right up.â Steve turns around, frowning at the sound of his partner.
While Steve starts their coffees, Eddie drags himself out of bed and heads to the bathroom too. He pees, washes his hands, and then brushes his teeth. He stops for a moment to stare at himself in the mirror. He looks run down for sure, paler than normal and rings forming under his eyes. After rinsing his mouth out, he tames the hair a little and then grabs a few tissues to blow his nose.
He huffs a sigh when it does nothing to relieve the congestion thatâs settled in his sinuses.
âFor fucks sakeâŠâ he grumbles.
He turns off the bathroom light and goes to get dressed. His favorite black jeans and tee shirt will do. Theyâre just going to be under his doctors coat anyways.
Heâs sniffling and scrubbing at his nose as he walks into the kitchen where Steve is sitting at the table, finishing a prepackaged muffin and sipping his coffee.
âMorning babe.â Steve says and kisses Eddie on the cheek, âShit itâs 6:40 already?? Let me get dressed really quick!â
âMorning.â Eddie hums, dumping his coffee into the travel mug. He takes a small sip, coughing again.
Steve reappears just a few minutes later, hair done and in his scrubs.
âOkay! Ready?â
Eddie nods, âMm hmm.â
Steve grabs his bag and heads out the door towards the car, Eddie trudging sluggishly behind him.
---
When the boys arrive at the office, they both head back towards the nurses station to greet the girls. Steve drops his backpack at his desk and turns the computer on.
âHey Robin!â He calls out.
âMorning guys!â Robin bounds around the corner but stops abruptly, âOof Eddie you donât look so hot. Are you okay?â
She asks, having forgotten the warning text from Steve late last night.
âYou flatter me.â He says, voice dripping with sarcasm. âIâm fine.â
Nancy walks in just as Eddie starts coughing again. She places a gentle hand on his back as she walks past him to her desk.
âAwe poor thing, you sound awful. Are you getting sick?â
Steve and Robin look up at her like deer in headlights, signaling to her immediately that that was the wrong thing to say.
Eddie rolls his eyes, swallowing back his unwarranted anger, âI donât get sick.â
He turns on his heels and heads to his office, coughing into a closed fist on the way.
âIâm sorry.â Nancy starts, âI forgotâŠâ
Steve waves his hands dismissively, âDonât be sorry Nance. Heâs just grumpy because he doesnât feel well.â
All three of them exchanged different variations of the same eyebrows-raised glance that screamed ânot this againâ.
âWell Iâm going to go let people in now. The Andersonâs were outside at 7:05.â Robin headed up front to unlock the doors.
Her pastel pink scrubs were light and joyful. She usually stuck to the darker colors but today she felt like brightening up the mood a little.
âGood Morning, Andersonâs!!â She greeted as she opened the door, âEnter my humble abode!â
The two of them laughed and stood up from the bench they were waiting on outside. They were in their early 70âs and were some of Robinâs favorites.
âWell you look absolutely vibrant in those scrubs. How are you doing today, Darling?â Mrs.Anderson asked as she signed both of them in on the clipboard.
Robin jogged around the back to meet her at the desk window.
âThank you! Pretty good! Pretty good! I see you guys are here forrrrr,â she clicked around on the computer, âBack to back wellness checks?â
âThatâs correct!â Mrs.Anderson chimes.
âWell good news then! Insurance covers 100% of the wellness exams, so thereâs no copay. Let me tell Steve you guys are here.â
She takes both charts and runs them back to Steve, leaning down when she hands them off.
âTheyâre back to back wellness exams, so hopefully Eddie can just chill with them for the next hour and a half?â
Steve nods. Wellness checks were pretty easy and straight forward to do. Eddie would definitely be grateful he wasnât having to do any procedures this morning.
The brunette gets up and calls them both back. They walk with him to Exam 2. Robin chuckles as they walk by, Mr.Anderson telling Steve, âStevie boy, I have to show you this new magic trick I learned from my son in law. You brought my cards right Debbie?â
Mrs.Anderson patted him on the back, âI always bring your cards, ArthurâŠâ
---
âAndersonâs are in 2 whenever youâre ready.â Steve said gently, leaning in Eddieâs doorframe.
The man in question was hunched over his desk blowing his nose again.
âBe there in a secoâdâŠâ he said from behind the tissues.
Steve just nodded.
---
Almost an hour and forty five minutes later, Eddie came out of their exam room, eyes wide with annoyance, the rings under his eyes even more prominent than before. He dropped the charts on Robinâs desk.
âMrs.Anderson is fine. Mr.Anderson needs a follow up in a month for his blood pressure.â He rasped.
âSheesh Doc, you sound rougher than earlier.â She opened one of the drawers by her feet and pulled out a fresh bottle of water, offering it to him.
âMâfine justâŠâ he cleared his throat, âJust a lot of talking.â He took the water bottle from her and sipped from it briefly before heading back to his office to type in his appointment notes.
âEverything okay?â Steve stopped him in the hallway. âYou lookâŠstressed.â
âYeah he just. Kept doing magic tricks.â Eddie complained.
Normally he was all for Mr.Andersonâs funny antics, but today he was too drained to entertain anything, especially repetitive card tricks.
âSorry.â Steve started, âYour next appointment isnât for half an hour. Take a second to chill in silence or something maybe?â
âI know how to use my free time, Steve.â
Steve threw his hands up in defeat. âYup! Youâre absolutely right. What was I thinking?â
---
By the time lunch had rolled around, Eddie was done. Done with work. Done with talking to people. Done with feeling like shit. He had his head resting in folded arms at his desk, swallowing past the knives in his throat.
Robin clocked the limp figure as she walked past his office on the way to the break room. She turned to face Steve and Nancy and whispered, âIs he okay?â
Eddie cleared his throat, scaring them all. Robin had thought he was asleep.
âHe lives!â She joked.
Eddie lifted his head, trying to stare daggers with his glazed eyes, âWould you all quit asking if Iâm okay?? Iâm fucking fine alright?â
âYeah Eddie, you totally look and sound fine.â Steve murmured.
âWhat was that, Harrington??â He raised an eyebrow at the three figures standing in the hallway.
âNothing! Jesus, I said youâre fine.â
Steve grumbled his way to the break room, Nancy and Robin following suit. The three of them sat down, Steve running a hand through his hair, clearly stressed. Robin popped her Dino nuggets in the microwave and then sat next to Steve, rubbing a hand on his back.
âIâm sorry. Heâs being such a dick.â Steve whispered.
âItâs okay Steve. Donât stress.â Nancy said, shrugging as she ate one of her carrots.
The friends sat in relative silence for a moment until a trio of harsh sneezes sounded from Eddieâs office.
âNâGshuuh! EhâTZiew! H- hâEKSHTew!â
Robin opened her mouth out of habit to say âbless you Doctor Rockstarâ, but Steve clamped a hand over her mouth and shook his head.
âDonât say it.â
Robin nodded, thankful Steve stopped her in time. They could all agree that today was not the day for that.
Steve sighed and pinched the bridge if his nose, âFuck. Heâs sneezing now. Heâs just going to get so much more annoyed and pissyâŠâ
Nancy rested a hand on Steveâs shoulder. âHeâs a grown up Steve. Just let it run itâs course. Heâll be fine again in no time.â
---
Steve should have known better than that. He should know by now that when Eddie got sick, it almost always got worse before it got better. And now, just like clockwork, thatâs what was happening.
The rest of the work afternoon was filled with tense silence punctuated by sneezing and coughing from Eddieâs office.
By the time they were closing up for the day, Eddieâs nose was tinged pink and he was exhausted. He leaned heavily against the wall by Steveâs desk.
âAre you almâbost ready to go home? Mâby head is killing mâbe.â He asked in a weak but frustrated tone.
Steve looked up and his heart immediately dropped. Eddie looked awful. âYeah, sorry let me just turn the computer offâŠâ
Steve awkwardly scrambled to shut down the desktop computer and shovel a few things into his backpack.
âIâb gonna go wait in thehhh the car- HâiKTschEW! EhtâCHuhew! TâSZIEW!â
He steepled into his hands as he walked towards the back exit. Steve could faintly register an âughh fuckâ before a thick sniffle on his way out.
The younger man scooped up his backpack and jogged out after Eddie, jumping in the car not too long after he had. The car was silent except for watery sniffles from Eddie every now and again.
He figured Eddie was spaced out, too lost in a sick induced brain fog, but music seemed like it would ease the tension. Steve reached for the radio button and turned it up just a little bit. After a fifteen minute drive in the setting sun, he parked the car in their spot and made the short walk to their apartment.
âIâm gonna take a showerâŠâ Eddie mumbled once they got inside, already dragging himself towards the bathroom.
âGuess Iâll make dinner then.â Steve said sassily to himself as the bathroom door shut and the shower water turned on.
When Eddie stepped out of the bathroom after twenty minutes or so, heâd disappeared into their bedroom to change and probably text some friends quickly.
Steve took it upon himself to take a quick shower, afterwards sitting on the sofa and watching reruns of How I Met Your Mother.
Eddie emerged from the bedroom in pajama pants, thick socks, and a T-shirt, cradling a box of tissues.
âI love this episode.â He flopped down on the other end of the couch and pulled one of their blankets over his legs.
Itâs only a few minutes into the Blitz episode when Eddie frantically grabs a tissue and clamps it over his mouth, inhaling dramatically.
âiiâKTCH! HâesSHiew! HâMPTsch!!â
âBless-â
âNâgiSHuhew!!â
âBless you!â
âThaâgksâŠâ Eddie groans, gurgling into the already damp tissue before tossing it aside and pulling a new one to blow again.
âOn secoâd thought⊠I thiâgk Iâb gonna go to bed.â
âOkay. Goodnight.â Steve wants to add that he hopes Eddie feels better, but refrains, keeping it to himself and his reruns.
*****
Wednesday, April 5th
The alarm only beeps once before Steve turns it off, slipping out of bed quietly to start getting ready. Eddieâs congested snores ring out in a way that Steve just knows his throats going to be raw when he wakes up.
After throwing his scrubs on, he makes himself and Eddie some coffee. Heâs on his way back to the bedroom, double fisting mugs, when he runs into Eddie, standing in the doorway.
âSteve! Itâs 6:30 why didnât you wake me up???â
Steveâs taken aback by the heat in Eddieâs voice. âI was just making you coffee. I thought you could use the extra sleep. Was about to wake you up just now.â
âYou donât get to decide if I need sleep. Iâll have to take the coffee to-go now. Thereâs no time.â he turned around and stormed off to the bedroom to get dressed.
Steve huffed a sigh and went to empty the mugs contents into his partnerâs travel cup.
Eddie felt absolutely wrecked. He didnât know it was possible for him to wake up feeling worse than he did last night, and yet. Here he was with full body aches, a sinus headache, and chills. His entire body hurt and his skin was overly sensitive to everything.
He opted for scrub bottoms - the closest thing to sweatpants he could get away with - and a hoodie underneath his doctors coat. He coughed as he got dressed, the tight congestion in his chest slowly loosening.
Steve sat in the living room waiting for Eddie. Being sick had really slowed him down and it was now 6:53. They were behind schedule, usually leaving before 6:50am.
They both hopped in the car, music playing faintly as Steve drove them to work. The older of the two kept stifling chesty coughs with his mouth closed - clearly his lungs were more awake than he was.
As they pulled into the parking lot for Hawkins Medical, Eddie snapped forward into his elbow.
âEhâGSHiew! snff hâeKTCH! HâeiTSCH!!â The sneezes were harsh and desperate, followed by another productive cough that made Steve wince.
âYou sound a lot worse EddieâŠâ Steve commented hesitantly.
âDrop it, Steve.â He quipped, which would have been a lot more threatening if he wasnât so god damn congested.
Steve went silent as they both got out of the car. Eddie paused for a minute. With one hand on the hood to steady him, he snapped at the waist sneezing again towards the ground. Steve shook his head and made his way into the clinic, leaving his boyfriend to clean himself up.
âDid Eddie finally stay home?â Robin started, a little too excited.
Steve signaled at her to stop talking as the back door bell chimed followed by some coughing.
Noticing the girlsâ concerned looks, Steve quickly hissed, âJust leave it.â
âHey Eddie.â Nancy said sympathetically as the man walked in looking worse for wear.
âHi Nâdance.â
The back door bell chimed again. Fuck. Billy. The man walked in (late as usual) and dumped his stuff at his desk. He offered a simple âHey.â before he caught sight of Eddie coughing into another tissue.
âAre you sick Munson? Stay away from me.â
Everyone in the clinic knew Eddie was being pissy the last couple days. Everyone except Billy, who was off Monday and Tuesday. Steve bit his lip, preparing for whatever outburst was about to come from Eddie.
âYou shouldnât have to worry about that since I was going to tell you to fuck off anyways, Hargrove!â Eddie clapped back.
âEddie!â Steve scolded.
âHey hey hey! Everyone stop.â Robin stood up in between Eddie and Billy, but Billy just laughed.
âWould you look at that? Munsonâs got some fire in him after all. I respect it.â
Nancy, Robin and Steve exchanged looks of confusion before Robin finally stepped back, knowing Billy wasnât going to escalate the situation.
âBut seriously. Donât fucking get me sick.â Billy pointed at Eddie on the way back towards his desk.
âHow about. I go open the doors and we all take a breather? Would that be fine??â Robin asks, exasperated, slowly backing away to open the clinic for business.
Robin pulls her phone out of her back pocket and sends a quick update text to Chrissy. The two had been talking a lot more since they started flirting and so Chrissy was very well aware of the situation.
Jesus Chris, Eddie just almost fought Billy in the nurses station. Told him to fuck off and everything.
Chrissyâs reply was almost immediate:
In any other circumstance that would be the highlight of my week. Poor Eddie, he must really be feeling sick if heâs that confrontational.
The strawberry blonde had known Eddie longer than Robin had known Steve, so she certainly knew all of his quirks. Apparently this was one of them.
Ugh. Yeah. He sounds terrible. Gotta work now. Text you later. Xx
Today was unfortunately one of the busier days. The silver lining was that it was filled with familiar faces. As Robin pocketed her phone, a red haired girl who was about 21 came skating in through the doors.
âNo skating in the clinic Max! Iâm sorry I donât make the rules.â Robin said.
âSorry.â She chuckled signing herself in. Her other arm was wrapped in an ace bandage.
âSteve will come get ya soon, just. Hang tight okay?â Robin teased.
The girl nodded. When Robin came back, Steve was just behind her. He opened the door to the waiting room.
âHey Max, come on back.â
âHey Steve!â She clocked her older (step)brother, Billy, in the nurses station as she walked back with Steve, âHey Dickwad!â
âGrow up Maxine!â He yelled back, flipping her the bird.
She smirked and threw two birds up in response as she followed Steve into exam room 1.
Steve stifled a laugh once the door was closed. âAuthentic sibling loveâŠâ
âStep sibling. Am I wrong??â Max asked, grinning.
âI mean. He did look up when you said dickwad.â Steve laughed, hooking her up to the blood pressure cuff and slipping the thermometer in her mouth.
Steve typed a few notes in the computer until the cuff deflated. He took the thermometer out from her mouth and looked at the numbers on the BP machine. He typed some more in the computer before heading out.
âBlood pressure is normal considering you live with Billy.â Steve commented, âEddie will be in to see you soon!â
âNo rush!â She called after him. Might as well make herself comfortable. She lay back on the crinkly paper, bending her knees, feet on the table.
She stayed like this for a few minutes before a couple rough sneezes from outside the door startled her.
There was a knock on the door before it opened, Eddie stepping inside.
âBless you.â She said, slowly sitting up, âJesus you look like shit.â
Eddie rolled his eyes, washing his hands. âThank you so much for the compliment. You have such a way with words.â
âHa ha.â She teased.
âYou been icing that sprain?â
âYup!â
âWrapping it?â
âYup!â
Eddie squinted his eyes and glanced at the skateboard in the corner. âYou been staying off your board?â
Max paused. Caught. âNo⊠but I havenât fallen on the wrist! Promise!â
âWeâll see about that. Give it here.â
Max holds her arm out. Eddie sniffles wetly as he unwraps the ace bandage.
âSo are you sick or something?â She breaks the silence.
He looks up at her eyebrow raised. âYou must be confused. Iâm pretty sure youâre the patient in this room.â
Max matched his energy pretty quickly. âReally? Hmm I just thought because you come in here sneezing and looking all sicklyâŠâ
âSickly?!â Eddie scoffed as best he could before turning and coughing into his elbow.
Max watched the display and just shrugged.
âListen you shouldnât call me sickly when your skating career lies in the hands of my doctors note.â
Now that the bandage was off she flexed her hand and rotated the wrist a few times.
âFeel okay?â He asked.
âYeah. Feels good.â She nodded and Eddie opened the drawer behind him and pulled out a box.
He tore it open and held it up. âThis. Is your new brace. Wear this for a week and you should be good to go. But no crazy skate tricks!!â
âWhatever you say, Doc.â She hopped off the table and grabbed her board. âHope you stop being sickly soon.â
âVery funny.â He said sarcastically as she made her way to check out with Robin.
Now that sheâd left, Eddie felt his entire demeanor drop. The happy Doctor facade. He put it on for his patients, but he felt like absolute garbage.
he grabbed a few tissues from the box on the exam room counter and blew his nose. He paused as the act sent a tickly buzzing through his nose and his eyes fluttered shut.
âHâeiSHuhew! EâkSHT!â
He grabbed a couple more tissues and blew his nose again before binning them and washing his hands. He was in for a long day.
---
Mrs.Henderson is the last patient before lunch. Usually everyone loves the Hendersons - especially Dustin. However, today Mrs.Henderson came in alone, just her and her hypochondria.
âHi Robin dear, I really need to see Doctor Munson, itâs urgent. I donât mean to alarm you but I think I have smallpox.â
Robin stared wide eyed. This was a new one, even for her. âOkay ummm let me just get Steve and weâll see you in just a second okay?â
Robin took the chart and headed back to Steve. âShe thinks sheâs got smallpox this time.â
Steve sighed. âGimme the chart.â
The brunette took a breath and then called her back to Exam 3. âHey Mrs.Henderson. What brings you in?â
âDidnât Robin tell you? I think I have smallpox. It showed up a few days ago. Look!â
She points to her ankles, where he locks eyes with the most obvious flea bites he ever did see. Eddieâs gonna love thisâŠ
âAlright. Let me get Doctor Munson okay?â
Steve finds Eddie hunched over in his office, face buried in his hoodie sleeves.
âNâxxTCH! iiâxtCHU! HâtchiYUE!â
âBless you times three!â He announces himself.
Eddie wipes his nose on the sleeve of his jacket and very briefly gives Steve a puppy dog look. âWhat now?â
âMrs.Henderson is here. Sheâs got flea bites on the anklesâŠâ
âAnd she thinks itsâŠ.?â Eddie starts.
âSmallpox.â
âOf course she does. Canât you give her to Billy this time?â He almost whines.
Steve frowned, âShe asked for you.
âUghhh okay fine.â Eddie stands up, clearly at the end of his rope, and takes the chart from Steve, marching into the exam room.
âOh good Doctor Munson! I need you to look at my legs. I have smallpox-â
âMrs.Henderson. Itâs not smallpox. I can assure you that much.â Eddie says, looking at her legs, âDonât you have a cat?â
âDusty brought me another one so now I have two actually. Mittens and Buttercup-â
âTheyâre flea bites Mrs.Henderson.â Eddie tries to stay calm.
âBut I read online that smallpox can cause itchy bumpsâŠâ
âSo do fleas.â Eddie stated.
âBut Google said-â
âMrs.Henderson. Do you have any other smallpox symptoms? Scabs? Stomachaches?â He cut her off.
She shakes her head and stares at him as he continues, âDo you have a fever?â
â⊠no.â
âWell I do.â Eddie starts, âand I donât know how else to prove it to you, but those are flea bites. Iâll give you an antihistamine cream for the itching. And I can recommend a really good vet for your cats.â
He scribbles out a prescription on his pad while she seems to consider. She now seemed less paranoid and more sympathetic.
âOkay. That would be lovely. Thank you.â
âPerfect.â Eddie sighed and gave her his best fake smile before leaving the room. He passed the chart off to Steve and then went to his office to sit down.
---
As soon as the front doors were locked for lunch, Robin hit up Steveâs desk. âWanna do a coffee run with me?â
âYeah sure. Now?â
Robin nodded. âYes sir I need caffeine.â
Steve grabbed his car keys and the pair left. Thankfully there was a great coffee shop just down the road. They acquired three iced lattes for the two of them and Nancy. Billy always brought his own Red Bull, and Steve picked up some hot tea with lemon for Eddie.
They were back at the office in damn near record time - only 15 minutes out of the office. Nancy was eating in the break room. Eddie was in there too now, resting his head in his folded arms on the table again.
âWe come with coffee!â Robin announced, handing one of the iced drinks over to Nancy.
âThank you!!â She pleaded.
Eddie sat up and started that god awful coughing again. He was so pale with a bright flush over his cheeks. His nose was pink and damp and his cough was definitely not getting any better.
Steve came up behind him and rubbed his back, not liking the heat coming through, even past the thick sweatshirt layers.
âHey, you feel really warm, Eds. Maybe you should see a doctor.â Steve said, concerned.
âFor fucks sake Steven! I donât need a doctor okay?!? I am a doctor!!â
The outburst startled everyone, especially with the amount of heat behind Eddieâs voice.
âJesus Christ Eddie Iâm just trying to help. Here! I brought you tea!â Steve aggressively puts the paper cup in front of Eddie.
The older man looks at the cup and then looks at Steve as he pushes it across the table away from him.
Robin looked at Steve and then immediately looked away. She knew that look. Steve was pissed. He was absolutely seething.
âYou wanna sit here and be fucking miserable?? Fine. Be miserable, I donât care.â Steve stormed out of the room swearing under his breath. âFuck!â
Nancy and Robin stand there awkwardly before Robin decides to break the ice.
âWeâre gonna give you some space Eddie.â The two of them took their lunch and coffee and went to go sit with Steve at his desk.
As soon as everyone left the room, Eddie reached for the paper cup of tea and sipped on it greedily. He did want the tea. It helped with some of the congestion and especially helped with the chills. He wasnât sure how, but Steve always knew just what he needed.
---
The rest of the day was tense to say the least. After yelling at Steve, he could tell Steve was angry and hurt and wasnât going to talk about it. So Eddie just kept pouting until they got back to the apartment.
After a shower, he decided heâd just go lie down and give his body a break. He was fucking freezing but his face felt too hot and all the while, he was slipping into fever dreams he didnât want to be in.
---
He was back in Med school, doing practice rounds at the hospital. He hated the reputation he had here. Not only was he the oldest in his group because he kept failing classes, but because itâs a small town, everyone knew about his history. About his dad.
Imagine first day of school jitters when everyone knows your dad beats you and your mom when you come home. Not exactly a golden ticket to the popular crowd, thatâs for sure.
Everyone knew his family couldnât afford med school either. So they knew he was a bartender on the side to help pay bills.
âTrailer trash Eddie thinks heâs going to be a doctor!â He could hear people teasing.
Stupid how cruel even adults can be when they wanted to.
âHelp me Eddie.â
He knows that voice. He hasnât heard it in years. Why does he know that voice???
He follows it down the corridor, but it only gets more desperate.
âPlease Eddie! Please help me! Why wonât you help me??!â
Heâs running. Flying down the stairs until he reaches the double doors labeled morgue. He stops in his tracks and pushes the doors open slowly. The screaming dies down and one of the bodies on the table sits up.
Itâs his mom. She has bruises on her body and face, a massive gash in her bottom lip.
âEddie.â
He runs over to her. Heâs not too much taller than her when sheâs sitting up on the autopsy table.
âMomâŠâ he hasnât seen her since he was 8.
He cups her cold cheek with his hand and stares into her eyes, on the verge of tears. Suddenly he feels something warm roll down his hand. He looks and sees blood dripping down the side of her head and onto his arm. Itâs coming from the gunshot wound from his father. Her husband.
âOh my god!â He gasps, falling backwards and crawling across the floor.
Heâd only been 8 when his father killed her and Eddie found her. Only 8 when he had to testify in open court and out his father away.
âIâm sorry Iâm sorry Iâm sorry.â He sobs squeezing his eyes shut and willing her away from him.
Itâs silent all around him for a minute and he opens his eyes. Sheâs not on the table anymore. Sheâs limp, being held bridal style by âŠhis dad.
âGet up!â He shouts.
Eddie is frozen. He canât move.
âI said get up!!â His dad commands.
All of a sudden heâs 8 years old again, scared of his dad. He scrambles to his feet while his dad looks him in the eye and drops his moms body to the floor.
âDo you know what you are?â He asks Eddie, jamming his finger into Eddieâs chest, âYouâre a fucking liability. Youâre nothing. You will always be nothing. You couldnât save her. How do you expect to save your patients, huh? Certainly not by taking a sick day, thatâs for fucking sure.â
Eddie starts crying quietly. âWayne!! Uncle Wayne help me please!â
He calls into the void but thereâs nothing. Just him, his dead mom, and his demons.
---
Itâs close to 11pm when Steve turns off the tv and heads to their bedroom to go to sleep. He brushes his teeth quietly, so not to wake Eddie, and then crawls into bed next to his partner.
A small whimper makes Steve look over. Eddieâs asleep, but his brown is furrowed. He looks panicked and keeps making small whimpering noises.
Instinctively, Steve reaches out and runs a hand through Eddieâs hair. The older man almost immediately calms down a little. Steve pauses, resting the back of his fingers on Eddieâs forehead and then his cheek.
The poor guy is absolutely throwing off heat waves. Steve keeps running gentle fingers through Eddieâs hair until the whimpers are replaced by the usual congested snores. After Eddieâs settled again, Steve finally lays down and turns off the bedside lamp.
*****
Thursday, April 6th
Steve groans to himself as he finally turns off the alarm that heâs already snoozed twice. Its 6:35 and heâs barely gotten six hours of sleep. He kept waking up in the middle of the night either to check on Eddie or because he was too hot from sleeping next to Eddie.
He peels himself out of bed, surprised to see Eddie wasnât there. Some harsh coughing echoing from the kitchen answered that question, though.
Steve pulls on his scrubs and heads to the bathroom, not wasting any time. He added some mousse and spray to his hair, giving it a once over before brushing his teeth and washing his face. He put on his watch and checked the time. 6:48 - time to go.
Grabbing his bag, he heads into the kitchen where Eddie is sitting at the table. Heâs in his scrub bottoms and hoodie again, with a thin blanket draped around his shoulders. Heâs got dark circles under his eyes and his nose is red and raw from blowing it so much.
âYou were up early.â Steve commented, grabbing the car keys and opening the front door.
âCouldnât sleep.â Eddie coughed, as he exited the apartment.
âWait. Eddie. Youâve still got the blanket.â Steve points out.
The long haired man waves a hand dismissively. âIâm taking it with me.â
With that, he gets into the passenger seat of the car and leans back, blanket still wrapped around his shoulders, letting his eyes droop. His lips are parted slightly so he can breathe, a small detail that Steve picks up on as soon as he starts the car up.
They pull onto the main road when Eddie starts fidgeting, rifling through the glove compartment.
âWhat are you-? Oh..â Steve knows this look. Eddieâs pre-sneeze look.
His eyes are fluttering shut and his nostrils are flaring. Heâs been sniffling the last couple minutes too so heâs assuming Eddie thinks itâs going to be messy.
âHold on, hold on!â Steve has one hand on the wheel and one hand trying to grab at the middle console, but heâs also trying to drive the car.
Eddie buckles forward, using both his hands to pull the corner of his blanket up to cover.
âHâissh! NxxTCH! EhâGSHT! snfsnff iiâKSHTâiew!â
âBless you! JesusâŠâ
Steve grimaces at how sick and contagious those sneezes sounded. Thereâs no way the blanket escaped unscathed. He opens the middle console and pulls a handful of napkins, holding them out to Eddie.
The older man grabs at them and quickly holds them over his nose, pausing for a second, âheh-ISHHuu!â
The raspy sneeze turns into a desperate nose blow. Eddie drops the soaked napkin by his feet and grabs another to gurgle into. After he cleaned himself up, he grabs the last napkin and scrubs at his blanket.
âThat canât be sanitaryâŠâ Steve whispers to himself.
Eddie just coughs and leans his head against the cool window of the car until they park in the lot for Hawkins Medical.
The boys walk in where Robin is once again chatting with Nancy before opening.
âHey guys-â Robin starts.
Steve stares at her wide eyed, mentally telling her not to even address the sorry state of Eddie. The doctor follows in behind Steve, pulling the blanket closer to him.
âNâdancy do you have any mâbore tissues?â
âYeah Eddie, sure.â She opens the cabinet under the sink behind her and pulls out a fresh box and hands it to him.
âThaâgks.â He sulks off to his office and Nancy gives Steve a look.
She leans in close and hisses, âYou are not letting him see patients like that.â
Steve shrugged and held up his hands in defeat. âI donât know what you want me to do about Nancy. Iâve been yelled at so many times this week. My hands are tied.â
Nancy and Robin both felt bad. Steve was in a really tough position, wanting to help but also not wanting to start any fights with Eddie. Billy walked in and pointed towards the back office.
âYou letting patient zero stay here today??â
For once in his life, Billy was not only right, but valid in his concern. Eddie definitely shouldnât be here right now.
âHe wonât listen to me so I guess yeah. Yeah he is.â
Billy rolled his eyes. The clinic would be opening soon. The first patient was for Billy and then Nancy. Eddieâs first patient wasn't until 9:30.
The first part of the morning went smooth, leaving Eddie to drink his coffee and work on notes in his office. But by the time his first patient showed up, everyone was walking on eggshells.
âMorning Jessica!â Robin grinned.
Jessica was one of the regular patients in her late 30âs who was always friendly with the staff. Her and her girlfriend, Beck, were two of the funniest people around.
âHey girl! How you doing?â Jessica asked.
âHanging in there this week.â Robin leaned in close and brought her voice down to a whisper, âDoctor Eâs sick and refuses to admit it.â
Jessica mouths the knowing âahhhhhâ as she nods. âI know the type. Doctors make the worst patients though, am I right?â
Robin nodded profusely. âLooks like you had a credit from the last appointment so no copay today. Go ahead and have a seat. Iâll have Steve get you soon.â
She grabs Jessicaâs chart and marches it back to Steve. âOur favorite is here for her new med follow up.â
âPerfect! Iâll bring this to sick boy.â Steve types something into his computer and then stands up to let Jessica into an exam room.
---
Eddie looks dead on his feet when Steve brings in Jessicaâs chart.
âFirst one for you Eds.â He says as nonchalantly as he can.
âYup. I got it.â Eddie stands, but has to steady himself, closing his eyes to let the wave of dizziness pass.
Abandoning his blanket momentarily, he grabs the chart and heads into the exam room.
âHey Jessica. Youâll have to excuse this-â he gestures to his entire demeanor, âIâm not feeling the best.â
âUnderstatement of the year, I suppose.â Jessica teased. âSorry youâre not feeling well!â
Eddie sits down on the chair across the room, already too tired to stand. âSo last time you were here we started you on 25mg of Zoloft. That was about three months ago. How are you feeling now?â
âHonestly? Best Iâve felt in a long time.â Jessica smiles.
âAny weird side effects? Mood swings? Any more bad thoughts?â
She thinks for a second but responds matter of factly, âNope! Feels great.â
âThen I think Iâd like to keep you on 25mg for now, but if anything changes you come back and we can reassess okay?â
âBing, bang, boom! That was quick and easy.â She exclaims, grabbing her cross shoulder bag. âSee you in a few months I guess!â
Eddie nodded, âSee you then! Robin will get you all checked out.â
When he thought she couldnât see him anymore, his face fell and he rubbed at his temple. Jessica made her way back to the front window.
âHeâs worse than I thought.â She whispered to Robin, âHe thought I couldnât see but he looks really out of it and run down. Needs a pick me up or something.â
Those words echoed in Robins head as she signed Jessica out. He needs a pick me up.
If there was one thing Robin was good at it was humor. Once Jessica was gone, Robin made her way back towards Eddieâs office but saw him in the hallway.
âHey Eddie! I have a joke for you. How do you tell if a vampire is sick?â
She paused briefly before answering her own joke, âBy how much heâs coffin!!â
Eddie stared at her with annoyed eyes before he shouted, âSeriously Robin?? What are you comparing me to a Vampire now?? Stop trying to be funny and go back to work.â
Thank god he stormed off to his office because Robin was too shocked to move or speak. That stung. Sheâd never been yelled at by Eddie before. Before she knew it, Steve had a hand on her shoulder saying, âIâm so sorry Robs, ignore him.â
Her best friend kept speed walking into Eddieâs office and shut the door behind him so he could yell at his boyfriend in private.
âWhat the fuck Eddie??? You cannot speak to Robin like that, especially when sheâs trying to cheer you up. You owe her an apology.â
Eddie just glares at his desk.
âDid you hear me Eddie?? Fucking apologize. Either get your shit together or go home. Jesus ChristâŠâ
Steve is the one to storm out this time, slamming the door behind him. Nancy and Billy definitely heard, but opted to keep to themselves. Probably for the better anyways.
---
Robin was scribbling numbers on her insurance verification sheet for tomorrow. This was probably her least favorite part of the day, running numbers and making calls to the obscure insurance companies to ask about it.
Her concentration was broken when there was a small burst of wind as someone sat on the chair next to her.
âHey Birdie.â
It was Eddie. Still wrapped in his blanket. But this time he looked apologetic and sad.
âI should NOT have yelled at you like that. The joke was funny and you just wanted to make me laugh.â
She slowly looked up and met his eyes. They were glazed and teary.
âIâm really really sorry Robin. I didnât mean to. I just.â His voice wavered, âI just feel so sick!â
Two silent tears rolled down his cheeks. Robinâs heart broke and she immediately pulled him into a sitting hug, holding his head to her shoulder (and shielding him from any patients that might walk in.)
Steve walked up holding papers to copy but stopped dead in his tracks. Robin looked up at Steve, shooting him a look that screamed, âSOS he brokeâ as she held him.
Steve set the papers down and rushed over, kneeling in front of Robin and Eddie. He rubbed Eddieâs forearm.
âHey, whatâs wrong? Look at me.â
Eddie slowly turns to look at Steve, his face wet with tears and a thin layer of sweat. His nose is running from crying. Robin brushes some strands of hair out of his face with one hand and grabs the tissue box and sets it on her lap with the other.
âI feel bad.â He sobs, âI yelled at everyone and I wish I didnât and I just feel so sihhh hhh -sick- hâiKSHT!â
Robin bites her lip in disgust as she rubs her friends back. Steve grabs a few tissues and wipes away the strings of mess from Eddieâs nose. He runs a hand through Eddieâs hair and then rests his palm on his forehead.
âYouâre burning up Eds. Iâm gonna go grab the thermometer.â
âShould we likeâŠput him in an exam room or something Steve? I can sit with him until lunch and you can take him homeâŠâ
âUhhh yeah fuck okay. Thatâs a good idea.â
Robin helps Eddie up and they walk over to Exam room 1 since the bed is against the wall.
âJust. Lay down for a second Eddie.â Robin is flustered. She doesnât usually spend much time in the actual exam rooms.
He lays down, resting his head on the small pillow, and she pulls his blanket over his shoulders. Heâs still sniffling from crying, his cheeks are flushed bright red.
Steve comes in with his little vitals cart, pulling the thermometer from its spot next to the blood pressure cuff.
âOpen up Eds.â Steve slips the device under his tongue and waits for the reading. â102.4° Eddie. No wonder you feel so bad.â
Robinâs already going through the cabinets in the exam room until she finds what sheâs looking for. Sheâs seen Eddie use it on some of the Peds patients before.
She opens the box and takes out a gel fever patch, peeling off the adhesive and gently sticking it to Eddieâs forehead. He whimpers slightly at how good it feels.
âOh my god Robin those are for children.â Steve canât help but laugh a little.
âA fever is a fever, Steve.â
She has a point.
âYou sure youâre okay watching him?â He asks.
âYeah I mean as long as you check people in and out. Itâs only an hour or so. Just turn the lights off on your way out.â
Steve nods, flicking the light off and closing the door. Heâs already sending texts to Chrissy asking if she can cover him tomorrow.
---
Despite it only being an hour, give or take, Steve is super anxious wanting to take Eddie home and get him to bed. As soon as the last patient was out the door, Steve was already locking up for lunch and making his way back to Exam 1.
âHey buddy.â Steve gently rubs Eddieâs shoulder after turning on the light.
Lunch hour started and Steve had come to relieve Robin of her babysitting duties. Eddie slowly blinked himself awake.
âHey StevieâŠâ
âHowâre you feeling?â Robin stands up from the chair next to the exam room bed, stretching her legs.
Eddie groans and rubs at his nose, sniffing, âReally really sick actuallyâŠâ
âYou ready to go home?â Steve asks, petting his hair.
âYeah. I am.â Eddie sits up and touches his forehead, âWhat is this??â
âItâs a fever patch, dummy. Donât touch it!â Robin playfully slaps his hand away.
She helps Eddie to his feet and he notices Steveâs already got his backpack and the car keys.
âAre you⊠staying home with me? Steve you donât have toâŠâ
âYes I do. And Chrissyâs gonna cover for me tomorrow too. Especially if youâre finally dropping the âdoctors donât get sickâ act and will let me help you.â
âIf some soup and the good tissues are involved Iâll gladly accept that offer.â
They make their way out into the hallway and stop outside the break room where Robin just joined Nancy.
âIâm sorry for being a dick this week Nancy.â
âItâs okay Eddie, just get some rest!â Nancyâs mom-friend tone was coming out.
Steve nodded at them and gently shoveled Eddie out the back door into their car. The drive back to their apartment was still about fifteen minutes, but it felt so much faster.
âIâm thinking maybe a shower for you and then bed.â Steve looks over from behind the wheel.
Eddie coughed into his elbow. âI was thinking the same thing.â
When they parked and got out of the car, Steve was expecting Eddie to beeline for the shower like he had the past couple of days, but instead, he gives Steve the biggest hug.
âIâm sorry Iâve been so mean.â Eddie mumbles into Steveâs chest. âIâll do whatever you say, Iâm just tired of feeling like shit.â
Steve softens and leans into the hug. âItâs okay Eddie. I just want you to feel better. Why donât you go shower and get in bed and Iâll bring you some tea?â
---
Steve had started the tea when he heard Eddie get out of the shower. He didnât want to start it early and risk it getting cold.
He let the water boil in the electric kettle, letting the tea steep after it had stopped bubbling. He stirred in a bit of honey for good measure and walked it over to the bedroom.
âEddie, you decent?â He called gently.
When no response came, he toed open the slightly ajar door. Eddie was passed out, face down in his favorite black sweats and a waffle knit shirt. He snored softly, face buried in the bedsheets.
Steve set the tea down on the bedside table and draped a clean quilt over him, taking the dirty one to the wash. He closed the door quietly behind him and made his way to the kitchen to make himself some lunch.
His phone buzzed as a text from Robin came through.
Howâs he doing?
He typed out a quick response.
Hey Robs. Heâs out cold in bed alreadyâŠ
That was quick đ€Ł
Record time, I think.
Steve laughed to himself while he reheated leftover pasta. He didnât know how long heâd have to entertain himself, but Eddie definitely needed some rest.
****
Friday, April 7th
â-chEW!â
Steve slowly pulls himself from sleep, vaguely aware of the wet sneezes sounding next to him.
âKâtschIEW! snrkk sorry I didnât mâbean to wake you up. Tried to stifle them but⊠they were too strong.â
âSâokay. Bless you.â Steve props himself up on his elbows and reaches over to feel Eddieâs forehead while he blows his nose. âFeeling any better?â
âYeah, but still feel like I got hit by a bus.â He tossed the tissues to the side and leans back against the pillows propping him up, âCanât breathe through mâby nâdose.â
âIâm sorry babe. Iâll look around for the humidifier later and see if that helps.â
Eddie nodded, while Steve grabbed the thermometer off the table by the bed and pressed the ON button. He hands it to Eddie, who slips it under his tongue.
They wait for a minute until it beeps. Eddie leans forward and Steve takes the device to check the reading.
âWhatâs the damage nâdurse Steve?â
â100.3°. Explains why you feel so crummy. A lot lower than yesterday though.â Steve kisses the top of Eddieâs head before getting out of bed to get dressed.
Eddie slumps down, closing his eyes again. He only intended to rest them for a minute, but soon enough heâs right back asleep.
---
Steveâs in the kitchen heating up some soup for Eddie when thereâs a knock on the door. He turns the heat down to low and goes to open it.
âHey Robin whatâre you doing here?â
She smiles and holds up a paper bag, âThought Iâd drop by on my lunch break to drop off bagel sandwiches for you.â
âThatâs so nice!â Steve stepped aside, âCome on in.â
âHowâs Eddie doing?â She asks.
âWellâŠâ Steve points to the living room where thereâs a figure hunched over a small humidifier with a towel over their head. âHis feverâs down but heâs super congested still. I have him doing humidifier treatment while I make him some soup.
âHow very domestic of you.â She smirks, making her way over to the covered figure.
âHey Eds! Brought you some bagels! Feel any better?â
He flips the towel over his head so itâs resting on his back. His face is looks clammy from the steam.
âThanks Robin.â He turns away to cough and then teeters his hand back and forth. âEh. Been better. Still feel like shit.â
Almost on cue, his eyes flutter closed and he turns to the side, leaning into the crook of his elbow.
âMâptSHew! GâisSHuhew! HâekTSCH!â
âBless you!! I gotta get back to the clinic, but feel better, yeah? Lord of rest this weekend.â Robin ruffles his hair and heads back to the front door where Steve is waiting.
Eddie gives a tired thumbs up from behind his tissues before throwing the towel back over his head.
âGuess you finally got him to drop the act?â
Steve sighs, âYeah. Fucking finally. Doctors do get sick after all.â
The two of them chuckle to themselves, certain Eddie couldnât hear their teasing over the hiss of the humidifier.
âThanks for the bagels.â Steve gives Robin a hug on her way out. âSee you Monday?â
She walks backwards out the door, shooting finger guns at him. âYou know it Steve-o!â
Steve smiled at the ground as he closed the front door, turning the stove back up to a boil. He was so thankful for friends like Robin. And thankful his boyfriend was finally letting him take care of him.

Nurse Steve coming to work all sniffly and tired and chugging orange juice all day in an attempt to chase away the cold heâs on the edge of coming down with. Then the next day he comes in and looks completely wrecked and robin or Eddie goes âI take it the orange juice didnât workâ and Steve just responds with a desperate sneeze
Hi Anon! Love me some clueless nurse Steve. Hope you enjoy this lil drabble đ«¶đ»
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Itâs nearing the end of the day when Steve sinks down into his chair and lets his head drop into his hands.
âLong day?â Robin asks, raising an eyebrow as she drops another chart in front of Steve.
âNot another oneâŠâ he groans, coughing softly, âMy head is killing me.â
âWhy donât you take a sick day tomorrow? We can always call Chrissy to fill in.â Nancy offers.
Steve is mid sip of orange juice as he waves her off. He swallows quickly, ânot sick. Canât be. Iâve been drinking these.â
He held up a half-full bottle of orange juice, identical to the several empties that had piled up on his desk throughout the day.
âNot sure if it works that way, Stevie. OJ canât cure a cold you already have.â Eddie clapped a hand on his boyfriendâs shoulder, entering the room and hanging Robin a chart ready for discharge.
âI donât have a- never mindâŠâ Steve mumbled under his breath.
Eddie could see from miles away that the younger man was coming down with something. Heâd been sniffly and more subdued for the past few days - some telltale signs he wasnât feeling great.
Steve, on the other hand, vehemently denied any sort of illness - the denial more for convincing himself than others. Heâd been sneaking away to blow his nose and chug orange juice for days.
Nancy and Robin took his denial with a grain of salt, usually trusting Eddieâs instinct, and went about their day.
***
It wasnât until the next day that Steve couldnât hide it anymore. He woke up with a sinus headache and an aggressive tickle in both his nose and throat. He leaned against the kitchen counter, pinching the bridge of his nose.
âAETSCHhh!â
âBless you!â Eddie walked in, hair damp from his shower. âHow are you feeling?â
âLike mâby body betrayed mâbeâŠâ Steve rolled his eyes before blowing his nose. âLetâs just get the day over and done with.â
The pair headed to the clinic, arriving right on time. Eddie was walking in front of Steve as they entered the building. He made a face at Robin as he passed, ever so subtly nodding towards Steve who followed behind him.
He had a jacket on over his scrubs and rubbed at his already pink nose, battling with an oncoming sneeze.
âI take it your orange juice didnât work?â Robin quirks an eyebrow at her friend right as he inhales sharply.
âHAESSSHumPF!â
He coughs into the elbow that shielded his sneeze and looked unamusedly at Robin.
âWhat do you thiâgk?â

Sicktember Day 3 - âWhat Happened to your Phenomenal Immune System, huh?â
Fandom: Stranger Things; Doctors Office AU
Summary: Doctor Eddie gets sick on vacation
Word Count: 460
Steve emerged from the hotel bathroom in nothing but swim trunks, flip flops and sunglasses atop his head. He had a light layer of sunscreen across his nose and a beach towel wrapped around his neck, another in his hands.
âHey EdsâŠâ he called out to the lump buried under a blanket on the couch.
âHnngâŠ.â Was the groaned reply.
âIâm gonna head down to the pool for a bit, wanna come?â
The older man rolled over to look at his partner through squinted eyes. Poor guy had been desperate for a vacation the past year and a half, and of course the second he manages a vacation to Kauai with Steve? He gets struck down with the cold from Hell.
âI mâbean⊠HâeKTSCH! Isssh! HuSSHuhew! Snf ugh. I guess I could work on mâby tanâŠâ he joked, smirking slightly before rubbing at his nose.
Steve quirked an eyebrow and held out the second beach towel towards Eddie, making a questioning hum.
Eddie rubbed the back of his neck with one arm before reaching out and snatching the towel.
âAlright Iâll go to the pool with you.â
The long haired man rummaged through his suitcase momentarily before vanishing into the bathroom, only to emerge moments later in swim trunks of his own.
He draped the towel over his shoulders and grabbed the tissue box off the night stand, âAlright. Letâs rock n rollâŠâ
---
Steve had to admit that he was thoroughly enjoying himself. He took a dive in the pool and swam a few laps, reminiscing about his swim team days, before climbing out to towel off.
He lay out on the chair that was next to Eddieâs. Eddie was hunched forward, towel still around his shoulders and tissues at his side. He was blowing his nose as Steve sat down.
âArenât you a sorry sight.â Steve teased, pulling out his phone to snap a picture.
Eddie flipped him the bird and lay back on his lounger.
âThis is going straight to the girls.â Steve chuckled.
âThey love to see me suffer.â Eddie joked, putting on his best woe-is-me voice before quickly ducking down, hunched under his towel.
âHâxxT!! KâtisCH! EhâTSCHiew!â
Eddie plucked a couple tissues from his rapidly depleting stash and blew into them right as the girl was coming around for poolside bar service orders.
âIâll have a piña colada, but could my boyfriend get a hot tea?â
âComing right up.â She smiled at Steve before walking back toward the bar.
âA hot tea Steve? Really?â
âA sick boy needs his sick drink!â Steve shrugged, âWhat happened to your phenomenal immune system anyways, huh?â
Eddie coughed into his towel and shrugged, âGuess it only holds up for me when Iâm at the office.â

Iâm obsessed with the phrase âThat colds turned feverish.â And I feel thinking about Eddie telling off Steve as he ignores a cold and makes himself worse. Streamer AU?
Hi Anon! First of all, I read your prompt before bed and immediately had a dream about that phrase ((however it was T/aika W/aititi LOL)) - all that to say I loved it. ~ KB â€ïž
*~*~*~*~*~
âSteve, Iâm home!â Eddie called out, dropping some plastic grocery bags on the kitchen floor.
The long haired man wandered toward the bedroom poking his head in. âSteve?â
The boy in question had been losing the battle against a cold for the better part of the week and Eddie was hoping heâd rest, but judging from the empty bed, it was nothing more than wishful thinking.
The queen sized bed had blankets askew, tissues forming a small biohazard moat around the sleeping space.
âSteve!â
âIn here Edâs.â Came a distant reply followed by some harsh coughing that made Eddie wince. Guess it paid off after all to buy those cough drops at the store.
Eddie followed the sounds and the sun light towards Steveâs streaming room. The neons were off so he either wasnât live or had a headache⊠maybe both?
The younger man was seated Criss cross on his gamer chair, hunched forward with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
âWhat are you doing out of bed?â Eddie was frustrated that his boyfriend wouldnât stay put, but also felt bad knowing that Steve was feeling so bad.
âI just hhh wanted to set some stuff up for tomorrowâŠâ he trailed off as his breath hitched again.
Eddie scrunched his face and turned away, loosely holding hands over his ears.
âHAESSH! EHSHhuHEW! hih! AEKTSCH!!â
âSheesh, bless you.â Eddie lowered his hands, nudging the box of tissues across the desk to Steve. âWhat are you even trying to set up right now?â
Steve gurgled into the tissue, pausing to mumble a response, âUdboxiâg video.â
He tossed the tissue into the overflowing trash can by his desk - a sure fire way to know that heâd been up and at it for some time today. Steve huffed a sigh and leaned back against the chair, wrapping the blanket tighter around him as he coughed.
The older man noticed the slight flush on his partnerâs cheeks and reached forward, resting a gentle hand to Steveâs forehead.
âEddie Iâm fine,â Steve whined, pulling Eddieâs hand away by the wrist, âItâs just a cold.â
Eddie raised an eyebrow, âWell that coldâs turned feverish. Youâre really warm Steve.â
Steve blinked slowly, trying to process how this could have happened. He looked up at Eddie with his puppy eyes and asked, âNo unboxing video tomorrow?â
Eddie smiled sympathetically and shook his head. âNot with that fever, champ. I think you should head back to bed and let me make you some soup, hmm?â
Steve nodded, slowly getting up from the chair and padding towards the bedroom. âChicken and rice?â He asked from the doorway.
Eddie scoffed, âWouldnât get anything else.â

Corroded Coffin prompt from @ohgodnonotthis - We know eddie would be the type to look up his band and all that fun shit- imagine if he found kink content of himself and/or the band and, instead of being weirded out, he critiques and fact checks it.
A.K.A the one where Steve tells Eddie about the kink
This was so fun to work on - Part two coming SOON âą As always, thanks to @dontfeeltoohot for helping me brainstorm. -KB
*****
The guys are all sitting in Timâs living room talking about the upcoming gigs that they are playing. Eddieâs staring intently at his phone, face scrunched up in thought.
âUmmmm Eds, you wanna share with the class?â
Eddie looked up and blushed slightly.
âOh my god are you googling us again? You gotta stop doing that man.â Jeff rolled his eyes in a playful way.
âOkay but this is so interesting??â Eddie commented, âI was looking at some random shit online and I stumbled upon this post that said my nose was cuteâŠâ
âAnd??â Gareth prodded.
âAnd I sort of went down the rabbit hole a bit. Did you know⊠some people are into sneezing?â
âWhat do you mean theyâre into sneezing?â Jeff asked.
âLike theyâre into it, dumbass, what do you think I meant? Like here this post here - I bet Eddie is a messy sneezer - like if anyoneâs a messy sneezer itâs Fuckin Gareth!â
Tim and Jeff laughed, Gareth playfully punching his best friend in the arm. The younger man points down at Eddieâs screen.
âOh yeah? Well they fucking nailed this one: I bet Eddie is clingy when heâs sick.â
Eddie scoffed. âYou must be joking. No Iâm not?!â
âYes you are!â The other three said in unison before laughing.
Now it was Eddieâs turn to roll his eyes and he kept scrolling.
âStop!â Tim pointed as he skimmed over his friends shoulder. âThat says they think I sneeze super loud?? Is it just because Iâm bigger? Thatâs Gareth again!â
âYeah and Jeff actually sneezes the most⊠not me.â Eddie mumbles.
They all chuckle before Gareth speaks. âWe should critique them. Spill the beans about how Jeff is an angry sick person because he misses his mommy. Or how Timâs kitten sneeze is a secret.â
He was joking, of course, but they all considered for a moment before laughing and switching subjects.
***
At the end of the night, Eddie had a call from Steve. He picked up the phone and they chatted about their day as Eddie walked to his car and started it up.
âSo Steve youâll never guess what we saw online today. Thereâs a corner of the Internet where fans are like. Into our sneezes??â
Steves heart stopped as pure adrenaline rushed through his body. Eddie knew about the kink. What the fuck.
âHmm thatâs weird.â Steve lied through his teeth trying to cover for himself.
âNo itâs not.â
There was a pause. âWhat?â
Eddie laughed, âI said no itâs not. Itâs not weird. Itâs kinda cute. Plus we donât kink shame in this household Steven.â He teased.
âI uhâŠ. Ummm.â Steve was debating what to do before he just ripped the band aid off, âIm part of that corner, Eddie. I have a sneeze kinkâŠâ
Eddie laughed again, âThatâs so cute Steve, are you serious???â
âYeah donât laugh.â
âSorry itâs just. Thatâs so you. So you like it when I sneeze? Like it turns you on or something?â
âYes. That doesnât weird you out?â
âNo Steve. I always think itâs gross when I sneeze. Im more than happy to know itâs a turn on for you, I mean what?!â
Thereâs silence.
âSo you really are part of that community?â Eddie asks gently, not wanting Steve to feel uncomfortable.
âYeah I am.â The younger man says barely above a whisper.
âAnd you let these people THINK that Iâm clingy when Iâm sick???? You didnât correct them?â
Steve laughed audibly, âWhat is there to correct Eddie? You are clingy when youâre sick!!â
Eddie knew Steve couldnât see him, but he pouted anyways before he got a wicked grin.
âI donât think Iâm clingy when Iâm sick. But now that I know youâre into it? Iâm about to be.â

đȘ¶đ for rockstar au steddie?
YES omg đ Iâve been missing kink!steve with kink!eddie. Sorry Iâve been offline for a hot minute - Rockstar AU here I come.
đȘ¶Intentional and đgifting
*****
Eddie had just come off stage from a show and was using the towel in his back pocket to wipe sweat from his forehead and neck. His boots clicked against the backstage linoleum as he made his way to the green room.
Before he could turn the corner to get there, a closet door opened and an arm pulled him inside. It was Steve. The closet was mostly dark, save for the dim lighting coming from the textured window on the door.
âHey rockstar.â Steveâs eyes darted to Eddieâs lips as he hit his own.
âHey Stevie⊠why are we in a closet right now??â
Eddie squinted isnât he dark trying to take in what was in front of him. Steve shifted and there was a crinkling noise, Eddieâs eyes gazing down to the bouquet of flowers in Steveâs hands.
He put a hand to his chest dramatically and gasped, âfor me?! You shouldnât have!â
Steve chuckled, but Eddieâs breath hitched and the older man leaned forward.
âNo Steve you reh-really shouldnât hahve Iâm allergicâŠHâetSCH! tâCHuhew! EhâKSHiew!â
A grin spread across Steveâs face as he pulled Eddie into a hug with his free arm.
âI know.â
Eddie pulled back and gave Steve a look, one that said he was equally shocked by the boldness and incredibly turned on.
The older man buckled forward again with a powerful sneeze.
Steve clamped a hand over Eddieâs mouth.
âShhhhâ
Eddieâs brow furrowed and Steve nodded towards the window on the door. Muffled voices could be heard. It was the guys. They mustâve come off later and weâre on their way to the green room.
Eddieâs nostrils flared in Steveâs palm, breath scissoring with desperation while they both stood there in silence waiting for the other men to pass.
Steves had been holding those flowers for god know show long - and now his hands were pressed tightly against Eddieâs nose and mouth.
When the guys had definitely passed, Steve removed his hand from his boyfriends twitching nose and pulled him in closer, the damp tip of Eddieâs nose pressing into Steveâs neck.
âLet them out baby, itâs all clear now.â
Eddieâs allergy sneezes got slightly more rapid, desperate and kittenish. He leaned into Steveâs supportive frame as he jerked forward with each fittish release.
âEhâiSH! iSH!! Ehâtsch! TschEW!!â
âBless-â
âUsSHuhew! iiâSHUE!!!â
âBless you!â
Eddie brought the collar of his shirt up to wipe the mess away from his nose. He gave a watery snuffle.
âThanâgks.â
âHow about we go meet up with the guys before they start to suspect something?â Steve suggests, mischief still twinkling in his eyes.
âOkay.â Eddie nods.
Steve starts to put the bouquet into the mop bucket on the floor but Eddie stops him and grabs them.
âDonât! Those are mine.â He smirks, âI want to keep them. For laterâŠâ

đŁđ nurse Steve? đ
Oh shit this is a killer combo, Anon. You know him so well.
đŁExplosive Sneezes + đSick at a Party
*~*~*~*~
Confetti pieces littered the floor from the various poppers that went off an hour ago. Itâs Chrissyâs 27th birthday and the blonde is dancing erratically with Robin and Nancy, a glass of bubbly dangerously balancing in her hand.
The celebration is hosted after hours of course, at a local gay bar that the crew frequented some nights. Sheâs got on her âBirthday Girlâ sash, Eddie dancing right beside her.
âEhhâ ISSSSH!!â Steve snaps forward, stroking into the elbow of his sports jacket, âHAESSHuhEW!â
Steveâs sneezes are nothing if not loud - explosive even. Eddie gives a worried glance via side eye. Everyoneâs favorite nurse was 3 days down with his usual spring cold, this one hitting seemingly harder than most.
Eddie awkwardly dance-shuffles over to the brunette sniffling into a soggy napkin.
âI can hear you over the music, Stevie!â Eddie exclaims, both impressed and concerned that his boyfriends sneezes could be heard over music blaring from several loud speakers.
Steves eyes watered over the napkin, âhehh ⊠a bless you would be nâdice⊠iiâTSCHIEW!â
âBless you.â Eddie claps a hand on Steveâs shoulder and stares at him with puppy eyes.
The younger man grimaces and pinches the bridge of his nose between his eyes - something he only does when heâs got a sinus headache forming.
âGimme one sec, chief.â Eddie makes eye contact with Chrissy across the dance floor and points at her before shimmying his way over to her.
âHey lady, I gotta take this sickie home, he wonât admit it but he feels like shit.â
The blonde clocks Steve in the corner and nods at Eddie smiling, âthank you for coming!!â
Eddie pulls her into a big brother style headlock hug and kisses her on the top of the head. âHappy Birthday, Chris.â

A Little Helping Hand
Fandom: Stranger Things, Streamer AU
Summary: Robin has Eddie and Steve do the Not My Hands Challenge, only Steve has a cold
Notes: Thanks @dontfeeltoohot for bouncing this idea around with me!
CW: Contagion, non-intentional
âHi lovelies!! You asked and asked and asked and I finally convinced the boys to do the Not My Hands Makeup Challenge!â
Robin addressed the stream and gestured to Steve and Eddie who were next to her.
âI would be in bed right now, but Robs really wants to do this stream todayâŠâ Steve muttered, consonants slightly rounded.
âOh come on, I know youâve been looking forward to this all week.â Eddie playfully elbowed him and then addressed the stream. âStevieâs got a cold. Heâs just grumpy.â
Aww poor Steve
Such a trooper doing this anyways
Youâre so cute Robin!
Robin laughed. âWell okay! Letâs set this up then?!â
Eddie sat down with his legs slightly spread, Steve sitting in between so he was in front of Eddie, blocking his view.
âSo Steve is gonna put his arms behind his backâŠâ Robin narrated.
Steve held up his hands and wiggled his fingers before putting both arms behind his back. Robin took some duct tape out and stuck it to Steveâs chest and started wrapping it around him.
âWell. I definitely canât use my hands.â Steve grumbled.
âAnd Eddie here. Heâs going to act as Steveâs hands!â
Eddie had his chest pressed up against Steveâs back and his arms were sticking out to the side.
Robin had them set up at her makeup table, the streaming camera in front of them. She had an array of makeup brushes, powders, foundations, and eyeliners splayed out on the table in front of Steve. He was eyeballing them all.
âThis. SnFF Looks like a bad idea.â He sniffled.
Are they gonna even know what all those are for??
Eddie might actually do killer eyelinerâŠ
Yeah but he canât see???
Robin perched herself behind them on her bed. âOkay guys Iâll tell you what youâre going to do, and Eddie is gonna do it as best he can. Steve you can help tell him where things are I guess. Start with foundation.â
Eddie started slapping his hands along the counter trying to grab anything he could.
âNo Eddie just snf wait a second. The foundation⊠maybe the bhehh back left cehh corner..?â
Oh fuck.
Eddie could feel Steveâs breath hitching. He loved his partner but god damn was he bad at covering. And his hands were literally tied. The last thing he wanted was for Steve to sneeze all over Robinâs things.
Eddie felt Steveâs chest expand as he inhaled. Without thinking, his reflexes kicked in and Eddie found himself using his own hands to cover Steveâs nose and mouth.
âHAESSSH!â
âEW!â
âETSCHIEW! snfsnff ISSSSHuhEW!â
Eddie screamed as Steve continued to spray his hands with each cold ridden sneeze. âSTEVE STOP!â
Robinâs jaw was on the floor and comments were pouring in while Steve sniffled helplessly.
EW EW EW OH MY GOD
Eddie NO!!!!!!!
I saw the spray â ïžâ ïžâ ïž
The pause was only momentary as Steve immediately started to hitch again. This time almost more desperately.
âDonât you DARE!â Eddie grappled around for the collar of Steveâs own shirt, bringing it up towards his boyfriends face.
âHâitSCHhh!â
Eddie felt a damp spot form on part of his hand, so he shifted the shirt slightly, still trying to use it to shield himself.
âTszzIEW! HâaTSsuHEW!â
Stop heâs still going đ©
RIP headphone users
Someone step in maybe??
Fuck is he okay?
Steve sniffled thickly, clearly embarrassed.
Robin had gotten up quickly, grabbing the box of tissues off her nightstand and bringing them over to the boys. After quickly untaping Steve, she knelt down and handed him several tissues that he pressed to his nose.
Eddie stood up frantically, a disgusted look plastered on his face as he looked at his hands. He made a dramatic show of flicking his hands towards the floor with a snapping motion, trying to rid himself of the mess Steve had left.
The older man walked out the open bedroom door and into the bathroom and started washing his hands. Robin took Eddieâs spot and sat next to Steve, rubbing a hand up and down his back as he continued to fight against the tickle.
Are you okay Steve?
Didnât get very far into the makeup challenge did they?
Steve looked at the comments coming in.
âIâm okay. That just happens when Iâm sick. Sorry guys that was gross.â
As if on cue, Eddie walked back into the bedroom. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his hands were still damp from washing them. He pointed dramatically at Steve.
âI swear to GOD Steven, if you get me sickâŠâ
Steve snuffled again and lowered the tissues from his face. âIâm sorry I canât help it!â
Robin put an arm around Steve and spoke to the viewers.
âWell that was an absolute train wreck! We didnât even get to the makeup and Iâm pretty sure the boys are never going to do that again.â She laughed.
âWeâre gonna end the stream here but be sure to tune in tomorrow when Nancy and I play Smash Bros. And go give Eddie and Steve a follow as well!! Byeeeeeeee!â
*****
[Four Days Later]
Eddieâs slouched forward at his gamer desk, a blanket draped over his shoulders. His complexion is paler than normal and the tip of his nose is tinged pink. He had a plastic water bottle and a small bowl off to the side, barely in frame.
âHey guys.â He said sluggishly, punctuated with a watery sniffle.
You look so tired :(
Are you sick?
No jam session today??
Eddieâs eyes slowly moved back and forth as he read the stream comments.
âSomeone got me sick, so instead of the regularly scheduled program, weâre playing Animal Crossing and eating soup.â
Steve shouted from the next room, âI said I was sorry!!â
Eddie sat up and turned over his shoulder, âSorry doesnât kill germs, Steven!!â
The long haired man twisted himself so that his legs were dangling over the armrest of his chair. Hugging the blanket tighter to him, he quickly brought an arm up to his face.
âNâxxT! HâixxTCHU! iiKSHTiew!â
Bless you!!
Poor guy sounds awful
Take it easy okay?
âUghhhh fuck,â Eddie groaned, leaving his face in the crook of his elbow while he reached for a tissue, âIâb sorry guys. This is so disgustiâg.â
He replaced his arm with the tissue, blowing his nose a few times before leaning back against the chair and going back to the game.
He played for an hour or so before Steve finally came in and placed a gentle hand on Eddieâs blanketed shoulder.
âHey, itâs time for your night time cold meds.â He held his hand out, dropping two green pills into Eddieâs hand.
âThanks Steve.â Eddie looked up at him from where he was sat in the chair.
Steve leaned over and pressed a kiss to Eddieâs forehead before disappearing back to the living room.
âKay guys I think thatâs it for tonight. Once I take these, Iâll sleep for likeâŠ1-3 business days.â Eddie joked to the stream, âIâll see you guys later!â

An idea I canât get out of my head: Streamer Steve doing a stream when heâs feeling a little under the weather but it keeps getting worse, chills, cough, the works. And Eddie whoâs been listening has to go in and get him to stop because the poor thing sounds miserable!
Hi friend!! Sorry itâs taking me ages to go through the good olâ inbox. Things have been hectic lately lol. I love this prompt sooooo much!!
*****
âHey-â Steve clears his throat, words coming out croakier than heâd expected, âHey guys. Sorry Iâm snff a bit sick today. Thought we could do a little Q&A?â
Sick again?? Come on Steve. Tsk tsk - Robin
You donât sound good
I love a Q & A!!!
âAlright! Who- HRUSSSSHew! - sorry, whoâs got a question for me?â
The brunette runs a hand through his messy hair and scrubs at his nose pretty aggressively as he sniffles.
Whatâs your favorite movie?
Howâs Eddie???
Next convention youâll go to? đ
âFavorite movie is probably like. Ferris Bueller or Breakfast Club?â
He pulls the sleeves of his sweatshirt down over his hands as he skims the other questions.
âHowâs Eddie? Heâs good. I mean. Heâs not sick so thatâs a win for him⊠sorry guys Iâm like so cold all of a sudden???â
Steve gets up and grabs a thin blanket off the couch behind him and wraps it around his shoulders, coughing as he sits back down.
âNext con? Good question. Uhhh Eddie and I probably have to talk to our people before I can say for certain.â
The tickle in his nose is insufferable, coming and going with no warning. He scrunches his nose and pulls the blanket corner up over his mouth.
âGâSHuHew! Hhh HriSSHiew!â He coughs wetly into the blanket and reaches for a tissue.
Bless you bless you
You sure you should be on stream rn? -Robin
The door opens and Eddie walks in. Steve looks over from behind the tissue. âHey Eds.â
âYou sound awful Steve.â Eddie all but has his hands on his hips as he reaches out to feel Steveâs forehead.
He clocks the camera and flicks his head. âSorry for the interruption guys. Stevieâs been sick as a dog all week. Just making sure he still has a pulse.â
Steve rolls his eyes at the teasing comment, but canât deny he feels significantly worse today than he had earlier in the week.
Whatâs the verdict, E? - Robin
Heâs so domestic wow
I have a feeling the Q&A is about to endâŠ
Eddie leans over and squints at the screen while Steve snuffles behind him.
âHa! Hey Robs. Yeah heâs down for the count tonight I think. Maybe if he listens to me and rests he could stream again in a few days.â
Eddie shoots Steve a look and Steve nods in silent agreement.
âWelp! That seals the deal, streams ending tonight. Ok byeeeeeeeee!!!â
Eddie turns the stream off and helps Steve out of his chair.
âThanks for bailing me out. All of a sudden feel reallyâŠâ Steve trails off unable to find the words.
âSick? Yeah. You have a fever and youâre germing up our comfiest blanket.â Eddie switched to his DM voice for dramatic effect. âTo bed with you!â

Thinking about doctorau Robin having to call Eddie because Steve (and only Steve could pull this off) managed to slam his head into the counter from a harsh sneeze on his day off. Even when not working, heâs still at the doctors đđ
Okay literally one of my friends almost did this in high school and it totally has Steve energy coded into it! Thanks for the prompt bestie! ((PRE-STEDDIE, pining only))
****
Itâs a Saturday when Eddie gets a call from Robin. The office is closed and itâs too early in the weekend for it to be work related.
âHey Birdie!â He answers casually, figuring itâs personal over professional.
âHey Eddie sorry to bother ya on our weekend but I have a bit of a situationâŠâ
Thereâs some sort of commotion in the background of the call but he canât quite place what it is. Thereâs definitely another voice there.
âSure, hit me with it.â
âSo Steveâs here and - shhhh Iâm handling it! - and you know how he is with his allergies. Well he sort of⊠full body sneezed and slammed his head into my cabinet???â
Thereâs murmuring in the background along with more shushing.
âIs he bleeding?â Eddie asks cautiously.
âNo bleeding but heâs gotâŠquite the goose egg.â
âSheesh, mustâve been a powerful oneâŠâ Eddie thinks out loud accidentally.
âYeah well. You know how he gets.â
Thereâs more commotion, Steve shoves Robin, embarrassed at everyone talking about him.
âStop it Dingus Iâm trying to help you! You know what? You just freaking talk to him. Doctor Rockstar, heâs all yours.â
Robin huffs and he heard the handoff of the cell phone as Steveâs voice replaces hers.
âEddie? Hey sorry. I told her not to call you-â
âItâs fine,â Eddie laughs, âAre you okay?â
âYeah sheâs overreacting. Itâs just a bump. A little sore is all.â
âWell you probably know what Iâm going to say,â the older man starts, âIce on that bump, go sit down. Take some allergy meds and stay away from Birdieâs cabinets, yeah? Donât want to be stitching you up on Monday morning.â
âSure thing doc, thanks.â
âAnytime Stevie, anytime.â
The nickname slips out before he can catch himself, but they hang up shortly after, so he thinks maybe Steve didnât notice.
He definitely noticed.

Can you write steve waking up because of eddie sneezing in the middle of the night!
Scary movies before bed were not something Steve normally did. In fact, he only started really, after dating Eddie. It was mostly because he had nightmares sometimes and the movies always worked their way into his dreams.
He was in the middle of one now. Being chased by Pennywise through the fucking sewers. It was always the small towns. Like Derry. Like Hawkins.
He could turn around and see the tinge of red hair. Hear the laughter getting closer and closer behind him until-
âiiâKTSH! EsshEW! snff HâeKSHiew!â
Steve jumps, jolted out of his nightmare by the sudden noise.
âNo no NO! NO FLOATING!â
The younger man blinks the sleep away, turning to face his partner, whoâs sitting up, a wad of tissues pressed to his face.
âAlright there Steve?â He half smirks.
Steveâs panting, âYeah. Fuck. You just scared me.â
âEhâTSZiew! GuhhâŠâ Eddie groans from behind the tissues, âI scared you or Pennywise did??â
Steve rolls his eyes, âShut up. Itâs a scary movie okay! Whatâs wrong with you?â
Now that heâs back to reality, he has time to question why his boyfriend was already awake and sneezing him into cardiac arrest.
âThink I caught a cold or something. Been up for the last half hour.â The long haired man blew his nose and tossed the tissue aside. âDidnât mean to wake you.â
âSâokay Eds. Was either you or getting eaten by Pennywise.â
Eddie lowered himself back down and rolled over to hug Steve, âAs long as you donât mind my sneezing, I promise to protect you.â

Thinking about Nurse Steve suffering through the morning shift with a really heavy cold.
Doctor Eddie walks in a little later having just come back from like. A weekend conference or something. Hears Steve exactly once, holds up his Rx pad and goes âyou want me to write you something for that??â
