The main story of this big issue is the second part of Countdown to Disaster, brought to us by the usual Kitching & Elson dream team. To be fair on Knuckles, this would also be my first question if I saw a robot duplicate of some guy I knew
Sonic has no idea how a robot he previously trashed is back, but I’m more concerned with the swing and miss he’s had with giving Knuckles a nickname here. But don’t worry, Sonic will indeed keep calling Knuckles “Red” from now on
It’s a coincidence that I’m blogging about this one the day after the trailer for the third Sonic movie has come out, but damn - Knuckles is having a bad time being beaten down by Sonic doppelgangers lately!
Oh, that was your brother! The family resemblance is striking!
I thought it was probably a good idea to include the first mention of the Brotherhood of Metallix, because that’s certainly going to be a big plot point that I know a fair few people cite as their favourite part of StC (I don’t have the sources, but current writer of the games, Ian Flynn, has mentioned a few times on his podcast, the Bumblekast, that it’s his favourite part of StC)
We get a fight scene between Sonic and Metallix, before Sonic figures out that he can get a boost from the Master Emerald as well. But this is StC, so you know what that means…
…It’ Super Sonic time! And with him comes an instant KO!
We cut back to our two villains, with Grimer managing to effortlessly deflect a Robotnik tantrum by pointing out that, even if Metallix lost, they still got the Master Emerald out of it
This continues to be a bad day for Knuckles meeting new(ish) hedgehogs who want to beat him up
That’s pretty embarrassing to come around and realise that your alter ego was punching your crush who already isn’t that into you
But Knuckles brushes off this explanation, because the two of them falling to their death takes priority right now. Not only that, but I’m sure we’ve all got a pretty good idea what that ominous something that’s about to break through the clouds is
…This story was epic! Even if it’s the second part of an ongoing story and may or may not have intentionally been put here for the 50th issue, it feels very worthy of it. We’ve got an iconic moment from the game being illustrated and adapted beautifully, featuring some big fights between hard-hitters from the games themselves. Fleetway Super Sonic was even there! These are the kind of stakes I want to see in a big milestone issue. I feel like StC’s 50th issue isn’t talked about nearly as much as Archie’s End Game is, but I’d definitely recommend it for this story alone. It truly feels like a love letter to the Sonic series at the time!

probablyotto replied to your post “I think the reason I like Final Victory so much...”
Yeah the final fight is genuinely awesome. Benifits from losing the excessive narration and Spaz's art firing on all cylinders. Its one of the few moments in the franchise where Sonic and Robotnik actually fight one on one (without any mechs or complex armors involved). Closest I can remember STC got to that was when Robotnik and Brutus' fight which is also an awesome moment.
Crap. Now I wanna reread STC
God, tell me about it. Especially with the expansion and build up it gets in the Director’s Cut version of Issue 50-
It hits every right note- this is a final, desperate fight by two enemies who know they are doomed, and the only thing that really matters now is having the satisfaction of seeing the other die first.
It will forever be an agonizing tragedy the arc that built up to this moment is absolutely unworthy of having such an awesome climax as this.
Heh, and yeah, I remember the fight between Brutus and Robotnik. It is indeed a cool one, and I do like the detail that Robotnik actually defeats Brutus by outwitting him and exploiting a weakness he didn’t consider.
Man, “Revolution” was such a great storyline.
And hey, nothing wrong with re-reading STC. People should do it more often!

ive been reading fleetway’s sonic the comic recently, half because it’s shorter than archie sonic (in the 500s) but longer than idw sonic (in the 50s) and also half because i want to understand tekno as a character and i’ve got soooo many thoughts about it even though honestly i’m... only 77 issues into a 200+ ordeal. honestly i’m not really enjoying it but i also am? it’s complicated. as a story i’m finding it kind of ... banal? the stories are just kind of whatever so far. maybe that’ll change. but at the same time i have been spoiled on a few details regarding the story that i’ve found aspects of the comic that i would have otherwise ignored fun to analyze in preparation for those spoilers, and though the dialogue isn’t anything i’d write home about - a lot of it is exposition or battle banter that serves a narrative purpose, but for narratives that aren’t anything to write home about, with very little breathers - BUT at the same time the characterization is thus far not... too terrible? i mean they got remarkably close with knuckles, though i don’t love how irrelevant and Nothing tails is but whatever. and amy’s kind of just there after a while? but it’s not... the worst
fleetway sonic is just... soooo psychologically complex, hes mean in a teenager who is mad as hell about the situation hes in kind of way. just beyond fucking peeved. he cares a lot about other people and at the very least how much he cares about johnny is obvious from the very beginning (maybe less obvious with the rest of his friends, imho, but it does become clearer over time) but hes also easily frustrated and constantly lashing out because of it - i’ve always had the impression that he was mean for no reason whenever i saw people talk about how rude he is in stc growing up but its so clear to me now that i’m an adult reading it for myself he’s just constantly frustrated and lashing out because of how little control he actually has. afaik fleetway is the only continuity where the sonic bible has any degree of ... canonicity? where eggman and sonic created each other, and are essentially father and son - where sonic has basically lost his father figure to a stranger who wears his face and is nothing but violent and cruel. how frustrating and maddening it must be to have to lead the fight against such a man, to have to be relied on, when you’re only a teenager. but even though im only 77 issues in i can really see the way sonic is slowly developing, possibly into a character that might resemble an average of all sonic continuities at the very least if not being faithful to his game counterparts, and trying to ease up on his friends, lashing out at them less, and trying to apologize to them when he does, and it’s.... fascinating. i am otherwise not caring for stc if i dont focus on sonic and johnny’s friendship that inevitably ends in tragedy while waiting for amy and tekno’s thing to begin but i’m also so fascinated in fleetway sonic. there’s something fucking wrong with him it’s awesome
oh also sab from the tails the zonerunner issues (emotionally twirling my hair) omg hiiiiiii they made a butch sheep in a trench coat just for meeee
#jadey chitchattering#sonkposting#anyways i just realized rco has that french comic with the echidnas i gotta go.

i guess i forgot to mention this for anyone that's considering reading fleetway: you can just skip shit. you can skim and skip as much as you want until you find something that looks interesting. there's up to 4 stories happening per issue so you can pick what you like and avoid what you don't. each story is published in up to 4 parts and each part is like 5-7 pages. and there aren't really big arcs you need to keep up on, if something requires previous knowledge, the comic will usually just tell you. like, look. I'm going to just skip to issue 50 because that's the first story i saw that looked interesting lalala i don't know what's going on lalala
ok the first story we have is in its second part and here's a quick recap of the previous part.
oh cool metal sonic's in this! better check the wiki for any issues I can backread to know his deal--
oh thanks stc!
even has a little explainer in case I've never seen super sonic before. or here, from the start of a different story, is knuckles explaining a previous story I might've missed:
like it's pretty generous with explaining what's going on, or where you can look up establishing info about characters. i think that's the norm now like with idw but also. unlike idw/archie which is very serialized, stc is mostly a variety comic. it's pretty gentle with explaining what's going on to you and really does not need you to have read much of anything before to still have fun.
so. to be clear. if you hate a story or the art is ugly or youre not having fun. you can just skip ahead to something that looks better. it's fine, i did that too. <3

What Factors Should You Consider When Choosing Acoustic Insulation?
In today's fast-paced world, noise pollution has become an increasingly prevalent issue, affecting both our personal and professional lives. Whether you're trying to create a peaceful home environment, a productive workplace, or a serene public space, controlling noise levels is crucial.
Acoustic offers an effective solution, but with so many options available, how do you choose the right one? This blog will explore the key factors to consider when selecting acoustic insulation for your space.
Purpose and Application
The first step in choosing the right insulation is identifying its purpose and where it will be used. Are you insulating a residential space, a commercial building, or an industrial area? Different environments have varying noise levels and soundproofing requirements.
Residential Spaces: In homes, insulation is often used to reduce noise between rooms, floors, or from external sources like traffic. Consider materials that not only block sound but also absorb it, ensuring a quiet and comfortable living space.
Commercial Buildings: Offices, conference rooms, and public spaces require insulation to minimise noise distractions and enhance productivity. Here, the focus should be on materials that can effectively block and absorb sound, particularly in areas where confidential conversations occur.
Industrial Areas: Factories and workshops generate significant noise, making robust soundproof insulation essential for protecting workers' hearing and complying with safety regulations. In these environments, the insulation material needs to be highly durable and capable of handling extreme conditions.
Material Type
Acoustic materials come in various forms, each with its own set of properties and advantages. The most common types include:
Mineral Wool: Made from natural or synthetic fibres, mineral wool is an excellent sound absorber. It's also fire-resistant and has thermal insulation properties, making it a versatile choice for both residential and commercial applications.
Fiberglass: This lightweight material is popular for its affordability and effectiveness in sound absorption. It's ideal for use in walls, ceilings, and floors, particularly in residential settings.
Acoustic Foam: Known for its sound-absorbing qualities, acoustic insulation foam is often used in recording studios, theatres, and offices. It comes in various shapes and sizes, allowing for customisation based on specific acoustic needs.
Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV): MLV is a dense, flexible material that blocks sound transmission. It's commonly used in walls and ceilings to enhance soundproofing in both residential and commercial buildings.
Sound Transmission Class (STC) Rating
The Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating measures how effectively a material can block sound. The higher the STC rating, the better the insulation is at reducing sound transmission. When choosing insulation, consider the STC rating in relation to the type of noise you're trying to control.
STC 25-30: Provides minimal soundproofing, ideal for spaces where noise control is not a primary concern.
STC 35-45: Suitable for residential applications, offering a good balance between noise reduction and cost.
STC 50-60: Ideal for commercial buildings, providing significant soundproofing to minimise distractions.
STC 60+: Offers the highest level of soundproofing, essential for spaces requiring maximum noise control, such as recording studios and theatres.
Installation Method
The ease and cost of installation are important factors to consider when selecting insulation. Some soundproof insulation materials are easier to install than others, which can affect the overall cost and timeline of your project.
DIY vs. Professional Installation: While some insulation materials can be installed by homeowners, others may require professional installation. For instance, fibreglass batts are relatively easy to install, while MLV may require specialised knowledge and tools.
Retrofitting vs. New Construction: If you're adding insulation to an existing structure, consider materials that are easy to retrofit without major renovations. In new constructions, you have more flexibility in choosing and installing the best materials for optimal soundproofing.
Environmental Impact
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in construction and renovation projects. When choosing insulation, consider the environmental impact of the materials.
Recycled Content: Some insulation materials, like cellulose and certain types of mineral wool, are made from recycled content. Choosing these materials can reduce the environmental footprint of your project.
VOC Emissions: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are harmful chemicals that can be released from certain insulation materials. Opt for low-VOC or VOC-free options to ensure a healthier indoor environment.
End-of-Life Disposal: Consider how the material will be disposed of at the end of its life. Biodegradable or recyclable materials are preferable for minimising waste.
Cost vs. Performance
While budget is always a consideration, it's important not to compromise on performance when choosing insulation. Cheaper materials may save money upfront but could result in inadequate soundproofing, leading to costly retrofits or replacements down the line.
Initial Costs: Compare the costs of different insulation materials and installation methods. While some materials may have a higher upfront cost, they could offer better long-term value through improved performance and durability.
Long-Term Savings: Consider the potential energy savings that some insulation materials can provide. For example, mineral wool and fibreglass not only offer soundproofing but also improve thermal insulation, reducing heating and cooling costs.
Aesthetic Considerations
In some cases, the appearance of insulation may be a factor, particularly in residential or commercial spaces where aesthetics are important.
Visible vs. Hidden Installation: Decide whether the insulation will be visible or hidden behind walls or ceilings. Acoustic foam, for instance, is often used as a design element in studios, while other materials are concealed within walls.
Customisation Options: Some materials, like acoustic panels, come in various colours and designs, allowing you to match the insulation with the overall décor of the space.
Conclusion
Choosing the right automotive acoustic insulation involves carefully considering several factors, including the purpose of the insulation, material type, STC rating, installation method, environmental impact, cost, and aesthetics.
By taking the time to evaluate these aspects, you can select the best insulation for your needs, ensuring a quieter, more comfortable environment. Whether you're soundproofing a home, office, or industrial space, the right insulation can make all the difference in reducing noise pollution and enhancing the quality of life.

Different Kinds of Noise Control Issues and how to Resolve Them
If you have stumbled upon this post, it is likely that you are looking for peace and serenity. Perhaps manufacturing noise is negatively affecting productiveness on your adjoining offices, shop floor or both. Or maybe, an old HVAC system is causing attention to divert or tempers to boil. With years of noise proficiency, we can provide the technical support and knowledge you need for Eckel noise control. Here we will address the main noise control issues and how to resolve them.
Echo
Echo is among the top noise control problems found in the interior building spaces. Defined as sound resonance or prolongation, echo and specifically excessive echo makes it hard to hear others around you. Frequently, this noise control issue stems from having many reflective surfaces and makes you think about installing outdoor acoustic panels.
Transmission of sound
Transmission of sound is defined as the sound passage from one point to another. Airborne sound can be a worry from room to room or from indoor to outdoor spaces. There are many instances where palliation of airborne sound is important, including locations where noise ordinances are specifically rigorous and hence you may need a compressor blanket.
Gym acoustics
Gym acoustics truly stem from echo problems which were discussed above. Lofty and high ceilings present the most substantial echo problems as sound waves have long distance to travel, but repeated sounds can also wreak havoc. Think about repetition of a basketball being dribbled or a racquetball striking a wall during a match. All these gymnasium sounds can make it hard to hear anything distinguishable in these environments unless some acoustical treatment with STC 50 is put into position. No worries, as we have the solutions to cheer for.

Different government policies of other countries for solar rooftop adoption.
As the world is moving forward, it’s adapting with time to make its presence prominent in the race of life, as per the current scenario of overusing natural resources, which are in a limited amount. Using these sources had its share of disadvantages for the world and humankind. Global warming, pollution, natural calamities, and severe health issues have been the long-term effect of the exploration of resources. To overcome and not worsen the current situation, many initiatives towards green fuel as an energy source have been initiated by the country around the world. Like solar rooftop, windmills and rainwater harvesting, among others, solar is quite famous.
The government and people have kept the recent changes in mind, and their actions have shown support. People are now openly talking about matters and accepting differences in their way of living, which has been an excellent boost for their country governments to take more action regarding solar exposure and its benefits.
So let’s talk about various countries’ aspects of multiple actions and their government policies regarding solar energy and solar system projects.
We have three countries in mind for this discussion: India, United states and Australia.
Various aspects of solar energy and solar system Projects.
People of each country enjoy a certain set of benefits with certain rules and regulations of each country. All the aspects may be different. Still, they hold a crucial and major influence over people to go for this method rather than completely relying on on-grid connections for electricity.
From installments to registering yourself to earn extra money by selling the excess generated electricity to grid lines. All these things are managed in each country through various government working bodies.
For example, in India, DISCOM (Electricity Distribution Companies) is responsible for all the installation of solar system projects and incentives.
In the US, these matters come under the section of the department of energy, where people freely install their solar units.
Whereas in Australia, the residents need to get licensed and clean energy council technician to set up their solar system. As The Clean Energy Regulator regulates the solar industry in Australia.
In the US, a household with solar installed on their rooftops enjoys a 30% tax credit, which has shifted to 26% in 2021.
Whereas in Australia, people receive rebates up to $ 1,888 and interest-free loans for PV panels systems.
And finally, in India, the people receive 30% to 40% subsidies per state.
All these benefits are enjoyed by the people who have registered their systems under the government and must be an on-grid solar connection.
In the US, people only enjoy tax credits for their solar connections. In contrast, in India, people get incentives for the amount of energy their PV panels can generate, which varies from 5% to 15%. And in Australia, people enjoy financial incentives through small-scale technology certificates per kilowatt. These STC are worth $35 – $40 AUD, which brought the cost per watt from $ 1.56 to $ 1.12.
In the US, other countries do not enjoy a great policy under the PACE act. In all three countries, people receive financial support for the installments of the solar rooftop in the form of cash, help or loans.
But in the US, people get an interest-free loan and a certain amount in cash. But if, for certain reasons, the house owners must sell their house before paying their loans. Then the responsibility to pay the debt is shifted to the new owners through their electricity savings instead of paying the debt in cash.
Whereas in the US, the support for solar energy is shown by the state government through initiatives like providing a 50% tax credit equal to $12,500 for the installment of panels in Louisiana, whereas 7% state sales tax by the law of New Jersey.
Will in Berkley, the people can add their cost for solar to their property taxes and pay it through their electricity savings.
Whereas in Australia, the lower income household enjoys a 50% subsidy, equal to $2,500, for installing solar panels.
While in India, people receive incentives on the amount of extra energy their solar rooftop can produce.
The countries have reached new heights in producing solar energy through all this push and support. Australia is successfully generating 27,167 MW of power till June 2022; the US has produced 121,475 MW by the end of 2021, with India producing 60.40 TWh by 2020 – 2021.
These statistics represent the amount of effort and dedication the countries with their people are making towards clean energy as they dream of the same goal of achieving a 100% zero-carbon energy source for their country.
Conclusion
In a future where every house will have a solar rooftop, making themselves self-reliable in terms of electricity with other mediums of green energy sources in life.
So adopting a solar rooftop has been proven beneficial by all these countries in terms of their environment, economic growth, technology and even people being aware and reliable.
Adopting is the key to survival; we humans have been doing this since our existence. So let’s come forward hands in hand to take a step towards a secure and safe future based on green energy.

Commercial Solar Panels - How to Get the Most Out of Your Investment
Solar panels are a great way to save money on your electricity bills. They can also help you make your home or business more energy efficient, and they can increase the value of your property. But if you're not sure where to start, there are a few tips to keep in mind.
Boost asset value
If you're considering investing in commercial solar panels Brisbane, you'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of benefits to be had. Firstly, a solar system may be able to save you money on your energy bill. Secondly, a well-installed solar panel can also increase the value of your property. Lastly, solar panels have the power to contribute to a more eco-friendly future.
The best part is that you can get started today. Many of the large banking institutions and other financial institutions offer a range of solar finance packages. This means you don't have to worry about making a large initial investment. It's also a good idea to take advantage of the federal and state government's incentives for installing solar.
The government's Small Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) are a boon to any business owner. A STC can be used to fund 30% to 50% of most solar projects.
Get approval from your grid
Aside from the obvious benefits, solar energy can also help you save money. In fact, a solar system pays for itself in about 4-6 years. The amount of savings you make will depend on the size of your panels and your daily energy use.
To start, you need to contact an Electricity Distributor to obtain approval for your grid connection. An approved Electricity Distributor will then issue you with an approval reference number. Once this is received, the electricity retailer will make necessary changes to your account.
To get your approval from your grid, you will need to meet a few requirements. The first is the feed-in-tariff. This is the government's incentive for people to invest in renewable energy.
The feed-in-tariff is the amount the electricity retailer will pay you for the extra electricity your panels produce. Generally, this is less than the cost of electricity.
Reduce energy costs
Commercial solar panels are a great way to reduce your energy bills and improve your company's image. They are environmentally friendly, and they do not pose health risks. They also offer a high return on investment. They pay for themselves in about three years.
There are plenty of rebates available to businesses in Brisbane. For example, a business could save up to $7,000 annually by installing solar panels. They are also eligible for the Feed-in Tariff, which allows factories, hotels, and schools to receive credits for the excess power they generate.
There is also an Australian Government rebate program that will lower the upfront cost of a solar system. The amount of savings depends on the size of the solar panels and the location.
Monitor solar energy generation and electricity consumption
Solar monitoring systems are devices that allow you to track the performance of your solar panel system. They give you feedback on the status of your system and provide a variety of benefits. These can help you maximize your solar selfconsumption, minimizing the use of grid power.
Modern technologies have allowed the development of more advanced tracking software for solar systems. These systems provide detailed consumption data and track voltage, temperature and other elements. They are also able to monitor electricity rates and time-of-use tariffs.
If your solar system isn't working as it should, a good monitoring system can identify the problem. It can also alert you if your performance is falling below the minimum. It can even calculate energy savings and estimate your bill savings.
Maintenance schedule
The best way to ensure that your commercial solar Brisbane will continue to produce energy is to maintain them regularly. Keeping them clean and free from debris will help them to perform at their best.
Solar panel maintenance is a simple process. All you need to do is make sure that the panels are cleaned and that they are free from any bird droppings or mildew. However, you may also want to schedule an inspection of the system to check for any problems.
The Clean Energy Council (CEC) recommends that you inspect your solar panels at least once a year. An accredited solar installer can provide a thorough inspection, check for any issues, and even measure the voltages of your solar panels.
You can also have a third-party monitor your solar panels. These systems will provide you with alerts and notifications if your solar panels aren't performing at their best.

Posters were a regular feature of StC back when I was reading it. They’re often double-page spreads, so I wonder if this is why the scans I’m using haven’t included many of them (or maybe there just weren’t many before now?), but they’ve included this one of Sonic & Tails that definitely would’ve been torn out of the book and taped onto my wall if I’d got it as a kid. I was not precious with my comics when I was younger. One day I’ll take some photos of the pile of colourful paper that is what remains of my own copies of StC that I’ve been lugging around through house moves all these years to show you all

Sonic the Comic Liveblog: Issue 50
Here we are at Issue 50! Judging by how many issues are on this website I’m using, I’d say we’re a bit under 25% done with StC. Good progress, but still a lot to go!
Interesting! Since this is Metallix, we know this is supposed to be the OG Metal Sonic, yet here he has the design of Mecha Sonic
We really are going on a tour of Angel Island with this story, huh?
Ohhhh, so this Metallix isn’t actually the original Metal Sonic. Why have the same name though?
It’s the feral boy again! It’s been a while!
Poor Knuckles, got knocked out only to wake up to Super Sonic with zero context of what’s going on.
I have to say, I like that mid-transformation panel in the bottom middle, makes him look a lot more like game canon Super Sonic
If you ignore Knuckles here with his bean body and missing arm, this is a rather nice looking panel.
Anyone unfamiliar with how the British typically eat boiled eggs is going to find this fanart very confusing.
Small child, should we forgive this criminal?
Please solve our problems for us, small child!
No need to ensure the safety of this small child!
Returning to Captain Plunder, and Simpson continues to be one of my new favourite characters
A pirate captain, a ghost, and a parody of a rubberhose era cartoon is a hell of a team up.

The Fairy of AIF - Ryntaia

A Problem of Paradoxical Proportions - stagemanager, tharkflark1
Gen | Sonic, Shadow, & Silver | Fusion AU
It should have been a routine mission. Run in, trash some robots, throw some banter, and foil whatever evil plot Eggman was hatching. And with Shadow and Silver helping him out, Sonic knew that this was gonna definitely be a piece of cake.
Yeah, NO.
.
Alluring - AquatiiicColony
Gen | Sonic & Amy | Asexual vs. Siren’s Song
Any angelic tune would be enough to viciously snatch a sailor or pirate from their ship and plunge them into the depths of the treacherous deep blue... but not this pirate. His own fantasies didn’t involve any beauty in his life, as only the thrill of the adventure is enough to keep him satisfied. Who knew that, however, one little taste of danger has gotten him to meet a creature that only existed in fairy tales? He isn’t sure if he should stay pinned to the ship... or to be intrigued by the mystery that lies within this mermaid. (Inspired by the Mermay prompts)

A thing that perplexes me about spinoff media for Sonic, but especially the comics, is making new OC characters as main cast members.
Like I understand in the past, SatAM and AoStH creating characters wholesale to expand the cast, depending on when they came out the games had between 3 and 7 actual characters, and by extension early Archie and StC but continuing to do so later, especially after the reboot and then into IDW is where I'm surprised. I'm not against it, per se, and if Sega wants to make use of those characters it might even be a bonus (many a Transformers Character has been created for the media then gotten a toy later after all) but it seems with a cast as big as Modern Sonic's is now a days they'd want to avoid diluting the exposure of characters who are actually in the games.
There are always more character niches that can't be filled with the existing cast, especially when it comes to female characters--which is why tie-in media tends to add more girls. The only female Sega characters who can be used regularly with no strings attached are Amy, Rouge, and Cream. While they're certainly great (and they've been given plenty of time to shine in the IDW comics), they're still dwarfed by the size and variety of the male cast, and they can't fill every role. It's also easy to see why the comic crew would add more villains when the vast majority of the Sega rogues' gallery beyond Eggman is off limits. (And, on the subject of Sega limitations, new characters are inherently allowed way more creative freedom than established ones who have already gone through their big arcs.)
It's also important to put things in perspective and remember that, yes, Sonic has a big cast for a platformer series. But for a long-running comic that's already had over 50 total issues with no signs of slowing down? A dozen or so regularly recurring characters is nothing. There's plenty of room to expand on that to facilitate new stories and to give the existing characters something new to bounce off of
Sonic comics readers also just like seeing new characters, plain and simple. The comic-exclusive characters have always been a major selling point to a good chunk of the audience. Getting to meet cool new characters like Tangle and Whisper and Starline and Belle is half the fun

Where can I read Sonic the comic?
Since it is an old british comic and Fleeway editions closed years ago. It's quite difficult to get a physical copy, you can find some second handed issues on Ebay, if you are lucky, but you won't find anything in Amazon or any usual place that sells comics.
But the internet is here for us.
The comic never got out of the UK (except for some French translations) and it's quite old, most legal online places won't have it. So also finding a legal way to read a digital version of this comic is a challenge in itself.
But that’s why I am here for:
One of the few places we can find the comic is this website that it is an archive of very old UK comics/magazines out of the market (some of these things are over 50 years old now and you probably won't find them anywhere else).
http://read.ukprintarchive.com/Egmont%20Fleetway/Licensed%20Comics/Sonic%20The%20Comic/Sonic%20The%20Comic/
Then we have this entire channel on You tube call “Sonic the Comic Reviews” that is almost exclusively dedicated to the series.
You have the whole issues of the comic, expecific scenes , retrospectives, some summer special (that you won't find anywhere else) and even videos dedicated to explaining the story of some characters.
https://www.youtube.com/c/TheUltimateFrieza/videos
Some things about the comic:
The comic doesn't really find its footing until issue 7 (this issue is also when the most known character of the series is introduced), when one of the main writes Nigel Kitching and artist Richard Elson entered the scene and ended up defining most of the identity and tone of the comic. You can read the six issues that came before, but you won't miss anything major if you decide to skip them, they are self contain stories with no impact on the plot.
Another little note:
There is no need to read after issue 184, since everything after that it's all reprints of old stories (Don't be fooled by the different covers! It's all the same old stories). This was a practise the publishing company (Aka. Fleetway) used back in the day with the intention of trying to get new readers into the comic , but mostly they were saving money by not paying any artists or writers.
Issue 184 is the last original story and the ending of the comic.
And this is just a fun fact: Issue 2 and some other early issues were written by...Mark Miller (Yes, that one).
That's all I can give, and I hope you found it useful.
A little side note about STC online (or Sonic the comic online) and where to find a quick sum up of the whole story in the comic ⬇
Eventually you'll probably come across this place call "Sonic the comic online" (Aka. STCO or STC online).
http://www.stconline.co.uk/
This is NOT the original comic in an online format. But a FAN continuation.
This is a whole team of artist and writers that grow up with the original comic and decided to resurrect it in 2003, one year after its cancellation in 2002. It has received the blessing of some of the original creators, they even collaborated on some issues and one of their stories has even received the approval of Sega itself and it's consider 100% canon to the original story.
In a way is the "unofficial-official continuations" as most people call it and for the youngest fans in this little fandom this was most likely the first thing they probably saw related to STC It had a lot of content already and an "ending" of some sort, even if they keep releasing stories, even now, but since everyone that works in this comic is a volunteer it has a very slow schedule.
You can also find this really cool section, they added some years ago, where they sum up the whole story from the original comic for new comers:
http://www.stconline.co.uk/comics/newtostc/
So if you don't feel like reading the whole 184 issues, this will give you a general idea of the story.
