I answered bratty probie Buck/ new lieutenant Eddie here (be sure to check out @disasterbuckdiaz’s fic about it, I got the inspiration from her 😘)

Whispers of the dark is one of the first fics that I made an actual moodboard for and I can’t wait to provide y’all with another little snippet 🌹 (dw, he won’t be Evan the entire time but it’ll last a while)

As Evan moved his hand out from his jacket, the priest turned to face him, backlit by the glow from the burning candles, his features bathed in the golden light.

It wasn’t exactly what he had in mind when he pictured a priest - this man was young but older than him, Evan’s bet would somewhere in his mid to late thirties, tall, with caramel skin and dark brown eyes that appeared to be looking right through him. Below the clerical robe, Evan noticed a faded white scar, tracing from the middle the priests collarbone to the side of his neck - it was wide and appeared to have been fairly deep, the scar tissue thick and bumpy.

It ended right below his pulse point and Evan raised a brow, a puzzled expression on his face as he searched the priests face for a reaction.

“Unburden yourself and this house of worship will be a place where you can feel the light of your own soul and be able to feel the peace that you so clearly long to feel. Otherwise you would not be here. Am I correct?” The priest stepped closer to him and Evan stood his ground, not trusting his actions. Or showing any signs of weakness. But he also knew that the priest was right. He wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t looking for some sort of absolution or a break from being who he is, who he was always destined to be.

“No” was the only word that came out of Evan’s mouth. He didn’t know what he was saying no to. To unburden himself? To feel peace?

Eddie looked at the man in front of him - blue eyes that looked like they contained the weight of the world, pink lips pursed together and an unwavering stance in a suit that seemed to have been tailored to his exact measurements. Eddie knew who he was. He was pretty sure everyone in L.A. knew who he was. And that he was completely and utterly untouchable.

“Then I’m afraid that you’re going to have to leave the premises. I do not want guns in my church. If you truly seek to change your ways, you’ll come back unarmed” Eddie stood his ground, the subtle bulge underneath Evan’s jacket more than visible.

“You and I both know that I can’t do that, Father” Evan said, a flicker of defiance in his eyes as his jaw tightened.

Eddie, with an unwavering gaze, felt a pang of recognition deep inside of him. There was something in Evan’s behavior, a silent echo of a past that he couldn’t quite place.

“Then perhaps it's time to confront the shadows that haunt you, my son. Come back when you're ready to lay down your burdens and find a new way of life” Eddie spoke, his eyes never leaving Evan’s.

Using this as my seven sentence sunday (although it’s way more than seven sentences lol)

I got tagged by @sarandipitywrites literally ages ago in this post and I only just got around to it. My words are drown, sunlight, bone, and bright.

Now, onto the word-finding. These are all from "Devourer of Souls":

Drown (trigger warning for the Goddess of Time being an ableist piece of shit)

"And you, my broken healer, I hope you have fun with your nothingness. Drown in it. Find someone as depressing as you and enjoy that nothingness to its fullest! But leave my daughter alone." The old hag dragged Theo through the crack in the air, cutting off her scream. Seth stretched out her hand one more time, trying to hold on to her, but she disappeared too quickly, the rift closing behind her.

(btw the Goddess of Time speaks in italics bc she sounds kinda non-human and it's a way to make that clearer)

Sunlight

"At times, It feels like I left my family a long, long time ago," Theo commented, extending a hand towards the sky. Seth was hypnotized by the way the spaces between her fingers filtered the sunlight. "But then I remember that, just a year ago, I was living with them. On the other side of the border. In a completely different world." "Do you miss home?" "Sometimes, yes, but I know I can never return. I don't miss my family, they were all horrible to me. But... I miss being in a familiar place, a place I understand well. Some things here are still strange to me."

Bone

Seth knew that statue. She'd seen it every single day for years, before going to live at the hospital. It was huge, a golden figure of the Goddess of Time, as tall as a building, watching over the whole capital. It was just like all the other portrayals of the Goddess she'd ever seen: long hair, blindfolded eyes, and a pleasant smile on her face. She had her arms open, slightly pointed downwards, as if she was waiting for a hug. She was covered in a long cloak that ended in minuscule flowers, each petal sculpted with agonizing detail. At the base was one of the Goddess of Time's more elaborate titles: "Lady of Blood and of Bones". She'd never liked that name. It was a bit too visceral for her taste.

Bright

A few moments later, she heard a weak voice somewhere to her right: "Ah... Seth...?" She opened her eyes and saw Theo, back to normal, hunched over her. Her eyes were red and intense, brighter than she'd ever seen them. It worked. She'd saved her. "Seth, are you...?" Seth interrupted her, pulling her by the hand to come lay next to her. "Hug me!"

A snip from my unnamed BG3 Tav (Astur)/Astarion fic!

Astur turned skyward, studying the stars in all their unimpeded glory before returning her attention to Astarion. “Yes, I suppose they are brighter here than in the city. Though I must admit, my time spent studying stars is limited.”  Astarion cocked his head and pulled his lips into a pretty smirk. “Let me guess, too busy in the library?”  “Astute.” Astur confirmed. “A great deal of my time is spent in my private study working on spells.”  “Ah, a spellcrafter! How ambitious.” Astarion praised Astur, though her ego remained unaffected. Those who did not study magic rarely understood the effort required to learn so many spells, let alone the great labor required to create a spell. Astur doubted Astarion even understood what he was praising. “Working on a new divination spell? Or perhaps some enchantment to bend unsuspecting suitors to your will?”  “Necromancy.”  What had been a perfectly coy expression slipped into honest shock for a blink before the rogue recomposed himself. Astur, though accustomed to this reaction, found Astarion's response especially entertaining given his faux-noble attitudes. Before Astarion could attempt to salvage the situation, Astur burst out into barely-contained laughter. “I'm sorry,” She said between cackles. “You'd think two hundred years...” Astur shook her head. Once they calmed, they added. "Catching you off guard was certainly rewarding, but your reaction is expected." “You just do not strike as the type to...” Astarion's eyes darted as he gathered the right words. “To have dedicated myself to death?”
