That means that we are able to hold our breath much longer than we think we can. Apnea breathing exercises train you to hold the breath for a longer time. Fascia Yoga combines static breath sessions with slow ritualistic movement designed to help relax body and mind while you're not breathing. During the breathwork sessions you train yourself to not give in to that urge of breathing that your body sends as an automatic reaction pattern and learn to ignore the rising of carbon dioxide. The main benefit of these breathing exercises is that they help you to deeply relax, quite your mind, slow down your breath and the intake of oxygen and therefore relaxes your nervous system. Breathwork done i a light meditative state can help slow down the heart rate and help our bodies to settle into the present moment.
