listen, I tried really hard to like fallout 76 and I really think it could've been a good game if it wasn't for the staple bethesda inventory weight bs

not even that, if the game gave me a way to get around that obstacle I would do a 180 turn and say it's a good thing and good feature because it's interactable enough to be avoided like an obstacle

fair point, there are a lot of perks that increase carrying capacity or reduce the weight of certain items

in fact nearly every special stat has a way to reduce item weight or outright increase carrying capacity and you know what the kicker is?

it's still not enough

You can max out strength and max out the carry perks all you want, when you finish that world event you're still gonna have to choose between the resources you just got or the doublefuck heavy piece of legendary power armor if you want to fast travel or hope to god there's a crafting bench close enough for you to waddle your ass to so you can break down all the useless weapons you just scrounged up from every corpse in a mile radius, even then you'll get a shit ton materials which will weigh you down anyways

plus the fact that I'm forced to pick up carry perks out of necessity instead of minmaxing my preferred build feels shitty, plain and simple.

Even then for the stashbox it is permanently stuck at a static 1200 carry weight, a limit that's pretty easily reached for a max level player, with no way for the player themselves to upgrade it

So why isn't there a way to get around this obstacle or at least mitigate it to a meaningful extent? Because it's not an obstacle

It's a fucking toll booth

It's way for todd howard can scuttle into your room, slap your ass and say "Hey baby, wanna buy fallout 1st for 13 dollars a month? ;)" and boom with the addition of a scrapbox to hold unlimited scrap and an ammo box to hold unlimited ammo suddenly the game is a lot more enjoyable, plus the survival tent which acts as a portable base with a stash and scrap box so you don't have constantly move your main base.

I've never been super into bethesda games due to the carry weight system they love to hug onto

but this game took what little interest I had in any of their ips, dragged it into the bathroom, and drowned it in the fucking toilet

if you paid for fallout 1st or are thinking of it

just go donate 13 dollar to someone's onlyfans, ignore their content, and go jerk off to a picture of the monapoly man

It's probably a better use of your money
