I didn’t walk enough last week, so I didn’t finish this audiobook yet. I should finish tomorrow, if all goes according to plan. In the meantime, this particular part of the story really makes me miss the character of Sana Staros. I finished the Dredd movie comics yesterday. I’m kind of sad that they come to such a definite conclusion, but I think that’s probably for the best. That allows these comics to forge a path completely different from the regular comics, and if that wasn’t something worth doing, then the strip would eventually devolve into a version of that strip, only with different uniforms. Instead, the series goes out on a high note, with more great art by Henry Flint and Paul Davidson. And who knows? I may not have been able to post about it, but I’ve been steadily working through the Dr Aphra audiobook, and it’s still great! Like the Sandman audio adaptation, I’m familiar with these events & characters, but telling it in this different medium makes it feel fresh & new. @sarahkuhnbooks keeps the tone and voices 100% consistent with the comics, but very much places her own stamp on this adaptation. With less than 10% to go, I’ll almost definitely be finishing this book this week. It’s been pretty good, and a lot more interesting to me than I expected a book about Dooku to be. I think that’s the role of Star Wars tie-in books & comics for me: to flesh out the secondary characters that the movies necessarily don’t have time to focus on. Also, I managed to get all my daily steps in yesterday after all, if not all my hourly steps. Looks like I’m finally on track to hit my goal five days in a row for the first time in too long!
