So I decided to post a summary of the beginning of my Vader AU (as I call it). Since all of you liked my post about it before I’m posting this, I hope you don’t mind if I just go ahead and tag you. Hopefully I’ll actually end up writing this at some point…

Darth Vader, after the events of ROTS, is on a mission. Something goes wrong with the hyperdrive, so he’s forced to land on Alderaan to find parts to repair it. There, he meets with Bail and Breha Organa to demand aid and he senses toddler Leia. He asks to see the child, but Breha refuses and takes Leia away. Leia’s strange Force signature intrigues Vader, so he has some underlings look into it.

Meanwhile, toddler Luke gets kidnapped from Uncle Owen when Luke accidentally tags along on a trip to Mos Eisley. Obi-Wan finds out and goes on a mission to find the missing toddler.

Turns out, Luke was kidnapped by an Inquisitor. Instead of killing the boy, when she sees the amount of midi-chlorians in his blood, she captures him so she can take him straight to the Emperor. However, Vader finds out about this and orders to see the boy. When Vader senses Luke he has the Inquisitor killed before she can take him to the Emperor. There’s something special about this boy…

Vader has others care for Luke as underlings continue researching into Leia. Vader finds out Leia was born and adopted around the same time his wife died—and then he learns Luke is his biological son (I mean, he was found on Tatooine and goes by the name Skywalker, you barely even need a DNA test to figure that out) and has nearly as many midi-clorians he does. Vader puts two-and-two together and figures out that Leia is also his daughter.

Vader, uninterested in raising the children but still desperately curious as they remind him of Padme (in both good and bad ways), puts together a plan to visit Leia. Meanwhile, he keeps the children’s existence a secret from the Emperor. He begins to have doubts. Palpatine lied to him. Could Padmé be alive? But then why and how did these children find adoptive parents? Was Luke being raised by his biological mother or someone else? The boy talks of an Old Ben Kenobi. Could he be his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi? Is Obi-Wan on his way to reclaim the child at this very moment? Will Vader ever see his daughter again?

Aaaand that’s just the very beginning. This AU continues all the way up to the sequel trilogy timeline, and a TON more happens, but I don’t want to spoil any of it. So yeah. I really do want to write this. And disclaimer: any of this could change by the time I get around to it.
