So hear me out. Say someone finds a place of employment at a potentially nefarious place. Does one sail off gently into that good night, or do they continue to work there and pretend they aren't onto their scheme?

Heart of the Cards
Stepping out of her RV, she turned on a dark purple neon sign. It flashed for a moment, before staying lit, letting everyone know the shop was open. However, today, she was only doing tarot readings, instead of selling any wares. It had been awhile since she had focused on that, and really wanted to. After all, she didn’t want to get rusty with her readings.
There was light atmospheric music in the background. If there were any actual words to the song, it would have been lost within the music itself. It was only to help ease the customer and to help her enter a trance state.
As she waited for a customer, she decided to meditate.
#(( ATTENTION: only the first two who responds gets to interact with this thread since I'm gonna do semi sorta card readings#Hope two people respond who I haven't interacted with!! ))#starter4

Just recently I attended my first tech and startup conference (Latitude59) and got the feeling that it's quite similar to music festivals. Anybody else feel that way? There's lots of people, lots of new meetings, a sort of "celebratory" vibe in the air... It couldn't be just me :)Anyhow, I found that conferences can get a bit overwhelming, so I thought - hey, perhaps my experience could be useful to other first-timers.Here are some tips that helped me get through my first conference with a little bit of grace and dignity:1. Do some research- Examine the conference program and pinpoint the events you definitely want to attend - such as presentations, discussions, pitch competitions. Perhaps there are specific industry people or startups you'd like to meet.2.Come prepared- Really important to "know thyself" and your company so that you're absolutely ready to pitch any moment. Think about your company in terms of uniqueness (what sets you apart from others),* clientele (most notable clients and projects).- Bring a fresh batch of *business cards** - they still matter!- Keep your business cards in one pocket, while the ones you've received from others - in another.- Add people you've met on Linkedin as soon as you get back from the conference3.Be noticeable- Avoid blending in. When people notice you, they will also notice your brand.- My team wears hand-made crowns (because if content is king, we are surely content queens).- A noticeable outfit or accessories will be a great conversation starter4. Socialize- This one's especially tricky if you're a hard-core introvert.- Use networking apps such as Brella, Grip, etc.- Attend after-parties - a lot of mixing and mingling happens outside the official conference and the atmosphere is much more relaxed.5. Be present on social media- Share photos - best pictures for your feed, behind-the-scene snaps and videos for Instagram stories.- Jump on the #hashtag train. Use the official conference hashtag if there is one to join the online conversation.6. Double the manpower- Attending the conference with a teammate will be more fun and bring more insights. I attended the conference** together with a colleagu**e who is a true technology conference veteran. With her by my side, it was easier to meet media representatives and entrepreneurs.- It also gave me the motivation to push my boundaries and start up a conversation with strangers. You can read some more on how it went down for me here.Any other useful tips out there? How did you do on your first tech conference?
