words words words, they beat around the bush.
descriptors complicate the articulation of a feeling so familar to us all.
symbolism and metaphors put it so expertly, but what can beat the rawness of
i'm in need of love, and there's no one to care for me?

It is indiscernible pain, but maybe there's solace in putting it out there.
In knowing that there's a chance that the suffering is mutual.
In telling the world that it scarred you, hoping it--as massive and busy as is it--would even care.
It is better to scream in defiance than suffer in complacency.
I don't deserve this, and it's most important that I acknowledge it.

I wish for distraction, at the very least. Inspiration is far and sparse as is; fleeting moments either leave an impression or leave altogether. There is only meaning in meaning, and what I mean is the burden of picking apart worlds and characters that bud in my spirit leave much to be desired. It bursts with the potential for life-weaving, and creation, but often time I just stay idle. They live untold inside of me for now, and what good is a story without any readers? As good as work that goes unnoticed, effort without recognition, as the tree that quietly toppled over without so much as kicking up dust.

Excerpt from The Moon Laid Bear WIP
Her golden eyes traced my figure, ever so lovingly as they were apprehensive.
"From where did you get this child?" Her majesty inquired in a firm tone.
I looked down at the infant I was cradling in my arms. He was tugging and teething at his own feet, letting out cutesy gurgles and giggling occasionally. I truthfully hoped he would behave this way in time for the current trial, as my only other trump card, my foresight, would prove impotent against the Grand Council of Moon Priestesses.
With a knot in my stomach, I kneeled before the Elders and began to respond.
"Supreme Elders, your majesty, esteemed council members, I understand your concern regarding this child's existence which follows no known logic."
"That is quite the understatement, Imena." Supreme Elder Buesa interjected. I slowly shut my mouth that was hung open on unspoken words. I expected to get at least a bit further before the ridicule.
"You know very well that reality is at its most fragile during these trying times, and these outliers that evade the principles of validity should come to our attention first. Princess Imena, you are well known amongst the Grand Council as quite the meddler, so you best choose your words carefully and with concision if you hope to sway us regarding whatever happenings you got yourself into this time."
Concision. Concision. The circumstances are so unbearably tense and confusing right now that I can't even fathom how such a story could be compressed without revealing all the facts. There's the whole ancient conspiracy regarding our supposed 'benevolent god', the ripples of that concealed truth which explain the true reason behind reality's tenderness, the very fabric--
"Imena! Do shut that child up at the very least if you cannot get your excuses together!" There was clear disappoint and distrust weaved into Supreme Elder Buesa's command.
some more from my current draft!! i'm honestly having issues figuring out whether i like the direction i'm going in right now so i wouldn't be surprised if i don't keep this mlwkfjk writing is hard

✎ Symptoms
Your cold eyes digs into my heart, cutting deeply through the center If I don’t cure this wound, I might die, I might go crazy, I don’t know what will happen The sickness that is you; the worse it gets, the more exhausted I get, the only medicine is you If I can’t have you, I might die, I might go crazy, I don’t know what will happen The only medicine is you I can’t live if I lose you

99 Arrows
I spread my arms out in front of her visage so as to catch the raining arrows; and they indeed, strike true.
The iron tips bury into the skin on my chest and neck. The impact is searing hot, and nothing but unrivaled anguish.
Blood pours from the cuts, yet her venomous words cut deeper.
She says I caught all the arrows but one; a stray that missed me and just narrowly missed her.
She calls me a failure for my imperfect act, and reaches towards the lost arrow.
It makes its way into her hand, and she plunges the last arrow into my clavicle as punishment for my mistake.
She leaves, and leaves me there to presumably die.
The knowledge that she's safe soothes my many wounds, at least.
All but one.

Yarn
Tangled spools of yarn occupy the space in my head.
It makes thinking such a chore.
Running up the intertwined threads, trying to connect dissonance to meaning,
is far too tedious to be worth the meddle.
And so I sit in my messy room with tangled spools in my head,
but I hear lots of people have organized balls of yarn instead.

The Moon Laid Bear, a WIP
"Your Highness..." she paused for a moment, debating whether to press further.
The room was filled with silence as the two stood at ends, surrounded by concern and unspoken words.
The Princess walked towards the tongue-tied maid. "Lia, there's no need for this dance. If you have any inquiries, I'd be delighted to fill you in, lest they overstep."
"Y-yes, Your Highness. It's nothing, really—" She avoided the Princess' gaze as she continued, "—I was j-just curious about last night's scry. It would be an honor to hear a r-retelling from Princess Imena herself."
Lia winced after uttering her bewildering request. She expected the fabled wrath of aristocracy to surge out of the Princess in response to such an imprudent request. This wrath, the Princess did not feel. She does not feel much of anything in the waking world compared to the horrors her scries subject her to.
She took a deep breath, as if to collect herself. "Oh, is that all? Last night's scry was nothing more than a foretelling of... " The pattern on Lia's skin morphed into that of taffy-colored bubbles as she looked towards the Princess expectantly, "... a ... field of ... brightly colored orange orchids. Yes, an orange orchid garden with a singular yellow orchid growing amidst the bunch. I'm afraid the meaning has yet to be discerned, as the scry did not pertain to our world this time."
I mean, she was half-right, at least. The scry indeed depicted a world other than the Moon, but what meaning does a silly orchid garden have? What prophecies lie in a meadow of otherworldly monotonous flora? Nothing, and that's exactly what Imena was going for.
She tilted her head and tossed a hollow smile to Lia.
"Your Highness..." Lia began, "that's such an endearing picture!"
"Yes..."
Her skin fades into an earthly ocean gradient. "Oh! Maybe the singular orchid is meant to symbolize the strife of conformity!"
"Perha-"
"Or uh..." Her eyes beam as the gradient flushes out into a bright yellow color with orange petal splotches. "...inspire action as the protagonist of one's own life!"
"It could b-"
"Oh Heavenly Selene!" A prismatic explosion paints her arms and face. "What if it foretells of a mystical chosen one destined to bring us commoners to salvation?!?!"
The fabled wrath of aristocracy starts to bubble.
"'Us commoners'. Is that what you proclaimed?"
The rainbow drains to her feet, leaving a washed out black-and-white pattern.
"N-no, Your Highness. I mean, yes b-but I was simply carried away by the excitement of the honor you so g-gratefully-"
Imena let out a loud sigh in an attempt to release the simmering bubbles. Quite frankly, last night was terrible, she has a headache and the royal headpiece digging into her skin isn't helping, and it is much less bothersome to just part ways now, rather than explain why that phrasing struck the nerve that it did.
A hollow smile finds its way onto her face once more.
"Continue you duties here. I will tell them you are doing a fine job."
The Princess patted the fearful maid's head before promptly exiting the room, her gown billowing behind her into the royal corridor.
here's a lil smth from the much larger project I'm working on right now!! moon people race with magical powers let's do thisss!!! :D
