had to stop my fourze watch so i can sync my gokaiger watch to be an actual super hero time power hour type thing (this will take at least 20 gokaigers to catch up to fourze. also this will probably end after i finish gokaiger LOL)
#rubys text tag#idknoooow if i wanna watch gobusters next. or wizard#my initial sentai plans post-gokaiger were jetman > donbrothers > shinkenger/dekaranger/timeranger#but after kakuranger and gokaiger its looking more like: jetman > kiramager-current > timeranger/dekaranger/shinkenger/kyoryuger/toqger#mainly because ive heard great things about both kiramager and king-ohger. and i wanna see the anniversary ''seasons'' inbetween#kindof like how i watched double. ooos & fourze in a row#speaking of. current kamen rider watch plan post-fourze: build > revice-geats > ryuki-blade > whatevers currently airing#MAYBE a gaim rewatch. but if im rewatching gaim i'll have to start my kyoryuger rewatch too. along with toqger#again if two shows line up in super hero time i just gotta. you know. get the full experience#but as ive made clear with what seasons i watched in the past. idc if theyre matched up or not#it depends on the mood since jetman & build are both next LOL

So Shin Kamen Rider was so good that I'm turning into a Kamen Rider fan, which is making me think about Dragon Knight because I used to watch that when it was airing on CW4Kids (RIP Saturday morning cartoon blocks), and I remember the theme song going hard but
youtube
I didn't remember it being actual metal? That's kinda kickass. Not as good as the Japanese theme song (for Dragon Knight, not Ryuki—yeah, they brought Dragon Knight back to Japan and it was apparently kinda well-regarded), but it was enough to permanently embed itself in my mind at the age of nine.
#kamen rider#dragon knight#together we can fight the fight#kamen rider dragon knight#kamen rider ryuki#shin kamen rider#for the record i haven't listened to the ryuki OP yet#i already started watching kuuga but ryuki and dragon knight are both high on the list of kamen rider series i wanna watch through#Youtube

🚦🚦🚦TRAFFICBLR I HAVE SUCH GOOD SHOWS FOR YOU THAT GIVE THE SAME BRAINROT AS THE LIFE SERIES 🚦🚦🚦
I've been meaning to do this post for so long now, but last Wild Life session being everyone having superpowers finally gave me the motivation-
Have you ever heard of Kamen Rider? No? Now you have. Kamen Rider is a Tokusatsu (Japanese practical effect focused genre, in the case of Kamen Rider it's a superhero-type Toku) show that has existed since 1971, but gets new seasons with new characters/worlds/stories every time.
And every now and then, there are seasons that just give me those brainworms like the Life Series does. And I need to share with you the seasons that I especially enjoyed as a Life Series fan 🥺 I don't think there's much overlap in the fandoms, because they're such different ones, but trust me on this one.
Do you like...
- death games
- time loops
- ever repeating death games in time loops
- characters being forced only to watch while their friends are continuously killing each other in every timeline
- people being silly :3
- absolute insanely intense homoerotic drama (it's one of those things I think both fandoms enjoy a lot from what I've seen 🧍♂️)
- watchers and eye-themed admins making sure the game is going as planned
- winners and/or last man standing of a battle royale type game never really winning because it will all repeat anyway and they have to compete and fight strangers and friends all over again
- everyone dying, no one ever really winning in this inescapable fight
... then you will love several Kamen Rider seasons! I'm being so vague and try not to say which season is which of those things named. But some also fit multiple. Those seasons I present first all have a very similar theme, like the Life Series.
Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Blade, Kamen Rider Geats, Kamen Rider Gaim.
Fun fact! Any Madoka Magica fans here? The creator of it loved Kamen Rider Ryuki so much, it was one of his main inspirations for Madoka Magica. (Very noticable... /pos) And after that he also created a Kamen Rider season, and that is Gaim. So if you love PMMM like me, oh you will be eating GOOD with those seasons!!
Also, some random imagery from Geats. The command buckle forms (pictured on the left), I just put out of fun bc they have Hotguy or Gigacorp colours, which Hermitcraft fans will be very familiar with 😌
And on the right, one of my points from earlier, eye-themed admins. Not really a spoiler to just tell you that straight up, don't worry. Also I guess you could say at one point there's something similar to the boogey..??
Anyway, the picture on the bottom... Do I even have to say anything? DO I??? WATCHER MOMENT??
I don't have anything to show for Ryuki, Blade and Gaim, I think? Or rather, nothing that wouldn't be too spoilery. Those are seasons that fr you just need to take in and take over your life and give you brainworms.
One thing I can say about them is that they have forever changed my brain chemistry and I think about them daily and whenever I think of them I want to scream . Real
OH UHH yeah Ryuki has a character named Ren wow! So many similarities! Well, actually, I guess I need to show you Shinji, the protagonist. Because if you love the silly idiots of the Life Series, you will love him too. One of my favs ever and he's so so silly. So stupid. Such an idiot. Everyone hates him and wants him dead and he just wants to make frens... His only crime was being too silly...
Now, there are two more seasons I want to recommend.
Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid.
Okay, this is a bit shorter, so first starting off with Ex-Aid. Another season I love SOSOSO much. Anyway, it is videogame themed yippie!! And there's an insane game master with a god complex whee!! Also uh... The newest Wild Life episode reminded me . So much. Of Ex-Aid. Because of the zombies. Since there is a character here who basically becomes a zombie and continuously dies in the silliest ways only to literally respawn again. So yeag.
Another thing, I love suit designs that, and I genuinely don't know if this was intentional, look like they have moustaches 😭
This season also has my #1 fav Kamen Rider character!! :3 ONCE AGAIN last Wild Life session, I had to think about this character too. Because of Bdubs powers...
Anyway.
NOWWW... KAMEN RIDER OOO...
One of the funniest and most dramatic and gayest seasons of Kamen Rider fr. I love it so much.
Did you pay attention to the OOO poster? The colours? Yeah, people who love Kamen Rider OOO in the fandom will often put a 🚦in their bio or name. Just like a certain other fandom right...
Funnily enough, ever since I've gotten into Kamen Rider a while back, there's often fanart where I can't tell at first if it is OOO or Life Series fanart. Yeah. Shall I show you why this might be the case? Let me pick some random Kamen Rider OOO screenshots:
Those two idiots are LITERALLY desert duo. Like. I don't know what to tell you. It's just insane 😭
And I know, scarian is a super popular ship (personally I don't ship it, I absolutely love their silly dynamics tho and all), and so are them!!!
We got Ankh, a so-called Greeed, being the angry blonde red-themed bird sidekick of the main character Eiji's silly superhero character (Calling it superhero is always so weird- but it's kinda hard talking too Toku-y for people new to it), who is maybe also secretly a little bit messed up. They are the ultimate doomed yaoi too, if you like that lmao? 😭 I'M PULLING ALL THE STRINGS TO GET MORE PEOPLE INTO KAMEN RIDER!!!
On top of that, even with all the drama happening later on in OOO, it has to be one of, if not the funniest season, at least to me!!
There's so much sillyness happening and I just love it..
Also this famous scene:
SO WHAT TO YOU SAY DO YOU DEFINETLY ABSOLUTELY WANT TO WATCH KAMEN RIDER NOW?? GOOD!!
((Sidenote. If you do decide to and are a bit clueless as to where to watch, you can always ask me what who said that nothing suspicious going on here Toei assassins-))
#life series#life series smp#trafficblr#3rd life#last life#last life smp#3rd life smp#hermitcraft#double life smp#double life#limited life#limited life smp#desert duo#secret life#secret life smp#wild life smp#LITERALLY GETTING ALL THE TAGS IN HERE IM#the brainrot too strong Im sorry

Hero Vision Vol.37 (2010/Summer) ft. Kamen Rider OOO Cast Members Watanabe Shu & Miura Ryosuke Interviews (translations below)
Publication: September 7, 2010
Watanabe Shu (Eiji Hino)
"Playing the role of the main character Eiji Hino and Kamen Rider OOO in "Kamen Rider OOO," is Watanabe Shu-kun. He's always thought, "I've always wanted to become a Kamen Rider," and the passion he has for this production has only seemed to have intensified. Watanabe-kun has only just started to create the role, but what's the main appeal of OOO and Eiji? We present to you this hot interview."
-I'm going to become a Kamen Rider!-
Ever since my first year of elementary school, starting with "Kamen Rider Kuuga," I've watched all of the Heisei Kamen Rider series in real time. At first, seeing a Kamen Rider defeat a monster was just so cool, and I couldn't stop watching. Around the time of the third series, "Ryuki," and fourth series, "Faiz," I was able to better understand even the smallest of details, and I began to think, "I'm going to become a Kamen Rider!"
While I continued to think like this, the chance to audition for "Kamen Rider OOO" was presented to me. I was more determined than any of the other contestants to win the audition, and it's not an exaggeration to say that I was putting my life on the line. That's why when I was chosen, I was so happy that I burst into tears.
Out of all the Heisei Kamen Rider series, the one I like the most is Kamen Rider Faiz. When he transforms, this area (his face and the 5 sections of his body) beeps and lights up, and when he does a Rider Kick, there's a flash of red…..the transformation and battle scenes are really cool!
Not only Faiz, but I've been influenced by the previous works of my seniors in many ways. In particular, when the Producer told me that Eiji's character is similar to that of Ryuki's main character (Shinji Kido), I had a fresh new look on him.
However, I don't want to end up copying his character, rather, I want to make sure that Eiji's own character comes through. When I think, "The feeling of Eiji," it's…..that he doesn't sweat the small stuff, and that he doesn't care about looking cool. Still, he'll face anyone directly, and has a strong will to protect what he wants to protect at all costs. I think that Eiji's a very straightforward guy. I also think the fact that he carries around nothing but his underwear and some coins means that he doesn't worry about appearances. My personality is that I also don't sweat the small stuff (laughs), and I'm not shy, so I have many similarities with Eiji. I'd like to play the role of a reliable hero by incorporating the coolness of Eiji and OOO into my own personality.
-A carefully crafted transformation scene-
It's been about 3 weeks since filming began (this interview takes place in early July), but the scale of the show's production was beyond my imagination. From the number of people involved, the methods used for filming, and everything else was massive. I get really excited when I think about being in such a production. I'll never forget the excitement I felt when I filmed the transformation scene for the first time! In Kamen Rider W's film (Kamen Rider W Forever), there's a scene where OOO appears, and by saying, "Henshin!," I realized just how hard I'd been working to get here……and I almost started to cry without thinking.
OOO's transformation is so cool! There's lots of attention to detail, like with the 3 medals in the belt and the elaborate moves. The Action Director, (Tsuyoshi) Miyazaki, came up with the basics, and we worked together on the detailed hand movements and positions. I suggested that since my left hand was facing the camera, my palm should be facing towards it, and also thought up ways of saying, "Henshin!" It's an important scene throughout the show, and I want to create the image of Eiji and the hero that I envisioned, so I was very specific about it. In W's film, Eiji is supposed to have experienced transforming many times before, so I made sure he looked confident. But, the transformation in the first episode of our main story is Eiji's first transformation, so it gives off a fresh feeling. I hope you enjoy both!
On days where I was taught how to pose, I'd practice by myself at home until midnight. In my mind, I created the image of becoming OOO as if I were in CG (laughs). I can't wait to see it, as the end result will be even better than that. I definitely have to go to the preview screenings! (laughs).
Eiji's a guy who's on the move alot, so I'm looking forward to seeing more action scenes. We shot alot in episodes 1 and 2, with me being grabbed by the monsters, being thrown around, being blown up, and rolling around. I'm still abit awkward at it, but with the help of Director Miyazaki and Suit Actor (Seiji) Takaiwa-san, I hope that in the end, I'll be able to jump off a building.
Ah, I mean, I want to improve that badly, but whether I can really do it or not is another story! (laughs). My dream is to punch and kick the monsters untransformed, so I'd like to make that happen too. If I keep talking about it like this, it'll come true someday, right? (laughs).
-Teamwork is the best!-
Things are so much fun on set. Ankh's actor, (Miura) Ryosuke-kun, is currently 5 years older me, and Shintaro Goto's actor, (Asaya) Kimijima-kun is 3 years older, but once I started talking to them, we quickly became friends. Miura-kun is the person I interact with the most in my role, so we're often together on set, and we talk about things other than acting, like my favorite manga (laughs). You get to know Miura-kun as he performs during filming. When the cameras aren't rolling, we talk about different topics, and I'd to get to know Miura-kun better when we're not acting.
As for Kimijima-kun….I was already a fan (laughs). When I was in middle school, I saw Kimijima-kun as a model in a fashion magazine, and it made me happy. Both of them are like kind older brothers, so I think it'll be alot of fun for the 3 of us to be in the same dressing room together.
We're off to a good start, and I have a feeling that the teamwork on set will keep getting better. We'll create an interesting show together, so please look forward to it!
-Watanabe Shu's Body-
Head: I'm a super positive person, so I just get through everything with the attitude of, "Well, I'll just figure it out." Who do I take after…..maybe it's a mutation? (laughs).
Ear: I've been told that I have "Hell Ears," because I carefully listen and remember the various things people say (laughs). I don't have any piercings…..making a hole looks like it'd hurt.
Eyes: I used to play sports, so my eyesight is well developed. I can even dodge punches, which I think will help me with action scenes!
Nose: I'm sensitive to the smell of food, and can guess what kind of food it is without looking. By the way, I love the smell of meat. I'm like a cave man (laughs).
Hand: I like to draw, and got the highest scores in art. But, I was more involved with sports, so now I'm abit rusty. Women probably prefer slimmer fingers anyway (laughs).
Mouth: I'm not shy at all, so even if I just met someone, I'll talk to them as much as I can. In other words, I'm annoying (laughs).
Foot: I'm fast! I used to run short distance and hurdle races, but I'm especially good at 400 meters races, and once took 3rd place in a prefectural competition with a time of 51.24 seconds!
Mind: I don't get upset about things too much. Maybe it's because a girl called me "insensitive" when I was in elementary school. Now that I think about it, that word seems to carry a serious meaning (laughs).
OOO: The theme of OOO is "Desire," and my "Desire" was to become a Kamen Rider. I think it's because I kept that in mind that I was able to encounter this production. Now, OOO is "Desire" itself. _
Miura Ryosuke (Ankh)
"Playing the double role of Shingo Izumi, a detective, and Ankh, the monster who possesses him in "Kamen Rider OOO," is Miura Ryosuke-kun. With the aim of, "Playing a beloved monster," he seems to be exploring for new ways to express himself everyday."
-Aiming to become a beloved monster-
I met with the Producer and Director through an interview, where I was given the opportunity to be apart of this production. The day before the interview, I was so nervous because my mind was racing (bitter smile). But, in order for people to understand you, you have to enjoy yourself, so that's what I did, and from the beginning, everyone talked to me in such a friendly manner…..I immediately felt relaxed and at ease.
When I was chosen for the role of Ankh, I thought to myself, "I'm grateful." I've been an actor for about 9 years now, and I was afraid that I'd only be doing on the spot performances. But, I now feel that it's because of my previous experience that I was able to get a role that'll last as long as a year. That's why I'm "grateful."
After filming began, the separation of the roles for Shingo Izumi and Ankh become a major point for me. Director (Ryuta) Tasaki, who shot episodes 1 and 2, asked me to, "Make some differences," for my tone of voice, facial expressions, and movements. Looking at the script, it's obviously different. But, when I tried playing the role, it was very difficult. Shingo becomes possessed by Ankh in the first episode, so we don't know much about his personality. His younger sister (Hina Izumi, played by Riho Takada-chan) is worried about him, so we know he's a good older brother, but, I think he's actually more of a troublesome brother, which is why his sister is so strong (laugh). I'm looking forward to finding out what kind of person Shingo is through Hina.
I'm still struggling with Ankh. The only thing I've clearly decided on, is to make him a "beloved monster." This was also brought up by Director Tasaki. Ankh's ideas and actions are pretty mischievous. One example is in episode 2, when he ate some popsicles, saying the reason was he wanted to, "Get some nourishment" (laughs). I'm sure that if I play the role without hesitating, my character will be loved by everyone. I wonder if Ankh will become more like a human by being with Eiji, or if a monster will always stay a monster…..I can't wait to see how things turn out.
Before we started filming, we had 2 rehearsals, but for the first one, time went by and I wasn't really grasping anything……I was certain that everyone was worried and wondering, "Is this guy gonna be okay?" I was so frustrated, that I would watch anime that reminded me of Ankh, I just couldn't stop thinking about him. I began to think that there was more to him than just being a right hand, and that there was a "heart" to him. Then, at the second rehearsal, I was able to get into being Ankh. The Director actually told me, "You're overdoing it" (laughs), but, those words helped me to get rid of any doubts, and I began to understand the "balance" of being Ankh.
-Creating Ankh together-
I'd like to draw your attention to the craftsmanship of Ankh's arm. It's been finely crafted down to the smallest details, and is very beautiful. It made me wonder how great it'd be to design the whole body. I can't tell you what material it's made of, as it's a trade secret (laughs), but, it's so light that I no longer feel uncomfortable wearing it. The index and middle fingers are my own fingers sticking through, so I can make detailed movements.
I've learned alot from Eitoku-san (Suit Actor), who moves Ankh's arm. Even though only his arm is shown in the show, he uses his whole body to express himself to the fullest. Just when I was thinking that I didn't want to be outdone, I had a very happy experience. The scene in the first episode where Ankh possesses Shingo was expressed through my own arm…..When I performed the moment when Ankh enters his arm and takes over, the camera man called Eitoku-san over and said, "Eitoku, this is how the acting should be done." The person who was filming was able to understand my performance. It made me incredibly happy. It made me think, "I can really do it as Ankh!" Through Eitoku-san and Ankh, I'm learning the importance of expressing my thoughts and feelings from the tips of my fingers, toes, and head.
The Director, makeup artists, costume designers, lighting crew……all of their hard work has been positive, and has helped me with becoming Ankh. I'd like to express myself as much as I can so that you can see it in a better way.
As of now, many of the actors are younger than me, but in the past, I'm often the youngest on set. I'd like to view this from the perspective of an older brother…….I want to, but it's abit difficult (laughs). The teen cast members are all so strong, that they often end up helping me out.
I think that (Watanabe) Shu is "free" in a good way. He says things like, "I want to express it in this way," without hesitation. In this world, people tend to hold back by saying, "I can't do this," or, "I can only do this much," but Shu doesn't have such an attitude. That's why I feel good and at ease when we're together. His presence in my life has grown so much, that I feel like we've already been together for a year. The only thing I wish he'd stop talking about, is his favorite manga. Every day when he comes to the set, he asks me, "Miura-kun, have you read this one?" I'm not really into reading manga, so one of my favorite things to say right now is, "Will I last a year….?" (laughs).
I'm grateful for being on such a set where we can have such innocent conversations. I'd like to build a relationship with Shu and all the cast members, so that we can motivate and support each other even during the hardest shoots. I'd like to work with everyone to grow not only within the work, but myself over the next year.
-Miura Ryosuke's Body-
Head: I'm someone that wants to have "fun." I want to take things in a fun direction, and for people to think, "He's smart." I don't want to show my efforts behind the scenes.
Eyes: I may have a hard time looking at people and other things. But, the feeling of taking in everything is always there. Because by doing so, I'll encounter something that'll move my heart.
Mouth: I like talking, but I'm not good at it. I'm often asked, "What was that last part?," because I tend to get carried away and say things too quickly…..
Nose: Like laundry fresh out of the dryer, I like scents that give off a warm feeling (laughs). Sleeping on them is ideal. Floral fabric softeners are the best.
Mind: I've always been stubborn, and I'm very consistent when it comes to my way of thinking. In order for people to understand that, I have to be firm with myself first.
Foot: I'm not slow, but I don't think I'm fast either. I do like to exercise and dance, and I like to just move my body. I'd be happy if I can make use of that in my action scenes.
Ear: I have really good ears. Even when I'm talking to someone, I can hear the conversations of those next to me, and I'll get angry and say, "What'd you say?!" (laughs).
OOO: This is the "start" for me. I'm confident that what I learn here will remain with me for the rest of my life, so I want to make this an important first step for me.

I Want To Watch Kamen Rider, Which Season Do I Pick?
I'm going to focus on Heisei Era shows because those are the easiest to access and the ones most fans have watched so it's easy to find people to talk to about them. Every season of Kamen Rider is a different story with a different cast and vibe, so determining which season you should start on is largely dependent upon your personal taste. This list is based mostly on the shows I have watched or know a lot about, so it's not exhaustive. Some shows will be listed under more than one category, just depending upon what might be most important to you. Guide is located under the read more!
DO NOT START HERE: Kamen Rider Decade, Kamen Rider Zi-O, Kamen Rider Gaim. Decade and Zi-O are anniversary shows that lean HEAVILY upon Rider lore and referencing past seasons. You don't need to watch those seasons to understand the story, BUT you may get spoiled on key plot points from past seasons by watching them. Gaim is on here because it is almost universally hated and thought of as a terrible show.
WARNINGS FOR THE SHOWS RECOMMENDED HERE: Kamen Rider Blade is heavy in the flashing lights department and the opening in particular is known to bother photosensitive folks! All the seasons have flashing lights, but Blade is the one that people have straight up said they couldn't watch through because of how many flashing lights there are.
Kamen Rider Kuuga has a pretty gross transmisogynistic caricature in two of the episodes.
Kamen Rider OOO has a cafe that is nicknamed the "cultural appropriation cafe" by fans because the servers are frequently made to dress up in outfits from other cultures and it can be a bit offensive from time to time. It's not the worst I've seen in terms of "people dressing up as other cultures" and there isn't any black face or brown face but I still felt it worth mentioning since the cafe is a major part of the show.
Kamen Rider Faiz has a black character in it for a few episodes who is written in a way that gives "big dangerous strong black guy" stereotype. It's uncomfortable to watch.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I don't really like kid's shows and I'd prefer something a little more mature: Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Hibiki (eps. 1-29 only). If you are looking for a show that feels more mature, these are where you should start. The pacing of these shows is a bit slower and more thoughtful. Kuuga and Ryuki are both HIGHLY beloved. Kuuga is good if you really like monster of the week shows, Ryuki is more for you "overarching story driven" types. Ryuki is a bit more silly in places than Kuuga, but largely maintains a serious tone. Hibiki is very creative and experimental, but it doesn't really give you an accurate picture of what most Kamen Rider seasons are like because it is very different. BUT if you can't stand musicals do not watch Hibiki. ALSO stop watching Hibiki on ep. 29. After that there was a show runner change and the end of the show sucks. Ep.29 is largely considered a satisfying enough end to the show.
I like mature themes and concepts, but I'm fine with kids show silliness: Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Build, Kamen Rider W. If you constantly feel guilty for wanting things and taking up space, watch OOO. If you had a rough childhood and complicated feelings about your family watch W. If you want to watch a show about war, watch Build.
I love kid's shows give me silliness and fun!: Everything recommended in the second category + Kamen Rider Den-O, Kamen Rider Fourze. Den-O is a time travel story that is heavy on slapstick humor and has a lot of heart. You may have seen a a red horned guy named Momotaros dramatically swing his leg up to rest it on the bench of a booth- that's from this show. Fourze is a high school story about friendship and space!
I like to watch things that are bad but also good: Kamen Rider Blade. You can basically ignore almost the entire lore built up in the first half of the show. The writers certainly do. If you've seen people memeing on a guy named Tachibana... this is that show. This show is very easy to post about. Deeply funny but not on purpose in many places.
I want to watch one of the ones that are especially known for homoeroticism: Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Blade, Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Build, Kamen Rider Faiz. Blade isn't initially very homoerotic until it very much is. Kuuga is for you if you want a more sweet and sincere vibe. OOO, Ryuki, and Build are more for if you like watching men bicker with each other homoerotically. Ryuki also contains a couple of side characters who read very much as a domestic couple (if you are big into the "loyal dog" type dynamic you will enjoy these two). Faiz is for you star-crossed lovers enjoyers that can also tolerate a stunning amount of heterosexual love drama (Blade is also a bit star-crossed). Watch Blade if you want to have a very personal grudge against a bench for the rest of your life. Kuuga and OOO are the most homoerotic.
I like weird shows where I don't know what the fuck is going on: Kamen Rider Kabuto, Kamen Rider Blade. If you watched Hannibal and were really into the way they talked and made a bunch of food, watch Kabuto.
I want something that leans more into horror: Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Agito. Kuuga can lean pretty hard into horror in places. Agito is a bit lighter, but still has more of a horror vibe to it.
I like mystery stories: Kamen Rider Kuuga, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Kamen Rider Agito, Kamen Rider Build, Kamen Rider W. There are other seasons with elements of mystery, but these are the ones where the mystery really takes more of a front seat. W in particular is actually a noir-inspired.
I want to watch the one with that blond curly haired Ankh guy that I keep seeing on my dash: Kamen Rider OOO
I want something that's a bit artsy and I also like or don't mind musical numbers: Kamen Rider Hibiki (eps. 1-29 only). The only Kamen Rider season where characters regularly break out into song. The sound track, editing style, and aesthetic of the show are so unique. Really strongly written. Do not watch past ep. 29 because of studio mandated changes ruining everything that made it worth watching.
I want to get a good intro to Kamen Rider: Kamen Rider W, Kamen Rider OOO, Kamen Rider Build, Kamen Rider Agito. Kamen Rider W and Kamen Rider OOO are considered great starter seasons. They give you a pretty good feel for Kamen Rider's formula while overall being pretty solid shows. Build gives you a good vibe for how Kamen Rider seasons with bigger casts feel while giving a good balance of serious and silly. It also gives you a bit of a better feel for what some more recent Kamen Rider seasons are like stylistically. Kamen Rider Agito is just a solid early Heisei show that gives you a feel for the tone of a lot of early Heisei shows WHILE also being a good starter show for you to dip your toes into the works of the infamous Toshiki Inoue. Inoue is a prolific writer of tokusatsu shows that most fans have a love/hate relationship with. He is the main writer for several Kamen Rider seasons, specials, and movies and has written several episodes even in shows that he wasn't the main writer for.
WHERE TO WATCH:
Legally: Ryuki and Kuuga (along with the original Kamen Rider from the 70's which is good cheesy fun) can be streamed on Tubi (at least in the US). If you understand Japanese and have a VPN (or are in Japan) I believe most of the seasons are on Hulu.
*I actually wouldn't recommend watching Kuuga FOR THE FIRST TIME on Tubi because the Grongi subtitles are baked in and you can't turn them off. I strongly believe that a key part of the first watch experience is not being able to understand the Grongi, as was the original intention of the show's creators. You can buy the blu-rays for Kuuga and toggle the Grongi subtitles if you really think its worth it to spend the money*
Alternative: You can watch them on most illegal streaming sites, lol. The only season I've seen where that has been an issue so far is Den-O, with the uploads being kinda wonky and partially missing.
There is... another source but I shan't link to it directly here (loose lips sink ships!) Please reach out to your nearest Kamen Rider blogger for the goods.

Cursed Love of Kamen Rider Ouja (Yandere Soulmate! Takeshi Asakura x Soulmate! Gn! Reader)
Tw. Abduction, Asakura becomes a slight yandere, self-harming (he hits his head against a wall)
Note: This is a soulmate au where once you meet your soulmate for the first time, you start to feel each other's pain. Also, watch Kamen Rider Ryuki, it is amazing and I am so deeply in love with Takashi Hagino's acting.
It had been a few days after you had been held hostage in a restaurant by infamous escapee, Asakura Takeshi. It had also been a few days before you realized that said escaped convict was your soulmate. On the day of Asakura holding hostages in the restaurant, a brave man that you found out was named Shinji Kido had punched and tackled him in order to release the little girl Asakura was using as leverage. Coincidentally, your nose began to hurt as if you had gotten punched and you also fell down to the ground. As Shinji continued to try and fend off the crazed villain, you were horrified that you could feel every punch that he left on Asakura. After the police started throwing in canisters of smoke grenades, you were quickly ushered out of the area but unaware of what happened to the three men who were fighting, Asakura included.
Since then, you’ve been at war with yourself. The police claim that Asakura Takeshi was dead but you knew differently. Your head swells painfully as if you had been banging it against a cement wall, and you grab your hair in tight fists as you try to figure out what to do with the fact that your soulmate is an incredibly dangerous and violent criminal. You’ve debated going to the police but what if they suspected you as an accomplice or an accessory to the crime? After all, it’s rather hard to believe that your soulmate just happened to be the guy who kept you hostage, and you were one of the last people to have seen him. But if you kept the secret to yourself, Asakura could end up hurting more and more people, and all it would be on you.
“GAH!” You hissed in agony, your head once more aching with pain.
You wondered what kind of dangerous situation Asakura was in now that was causing you to have this hellish migraine.
In the downtown part of the city, in an underpass no one dared to travel through at night, Asakura repeatedly hit his head against the concrete wall in annoyance and frustration. Not once growing up was he ever interested in finding his soulmate, the idea of someone who was destined for him the moment he was born pissed him off more than anything because nothing was decided for him. He was Asakura Takeshi, he did things the way he wanted to. Of course, he’d find his soulmate on the day he joined the Rider fight, now this person was nothing more than a new weakness that the other Riders could use against him, and he hated having an exposed weakness.
“Damn it! DAMN IT! DAMN IT!” He roared in between head bashes, blood starting to stain the cement. Lunging his head forward for one final slam against the cement, Asakura rested his forehead on the wall as he began to pant heavily. His shoulders raised up and down as he heaved every breath he took. Hurting and being hurt always helped him regain clarity. Licking his lips, his mind began to race about what he should do from here.
He briefly thought of killing you but that thought was dismissed as quickly as it arrived. If your soulmate dies, so do you. He knew that from the way his parents had both closed their eyes and held each other as they drew their last breath together when they realized they couldn’t escape the fire he had set.
He could leave you be, you seemed timid and scared enough to keep yourself out of trouble, and the chances of the other Riders figuring out you're his soulmate are slim. But who knows? Asakura noticed that you were feeling the same pain he was when Shinji attacked him at the restaurant, who was to say that damn do-gooder or that sleazy lawyer didn’t notice as well?
Taking you would be such a hassle, no doubt you would do everything to get away from him, and having to care for you would irritate the hell out of him. However, it seemed like the only good option for him so he could fight as ruthlessly and violently as he wanted without anyone using his soulmate to get to him. Looking around for the nearest reflective surface, Asakura spotted an abandoned and dirtied mirror leaning on the other side of the underpass and walked to it.
“Venosnaker.” He commanded. Instantly, a giant purple cobra monster appeared in the mirror, hissing dangerously as it narrowed its eyes at its contractor
“Get the others. Find my soulmate.” He ordered.
Bowing it’s head down in obdience, the purple snake monster sharply turned from the mirror to begin it’s journey as Asakura smirked after it. Only for it to fall when he realizes that he needs to get things set up for your arrival. Letting out an annoyed groan, Asakura brushed his hand through his hair and scowled.
“Damn soulmate.” He growled.
Whatever extremely painful thing Asakura was doing to himself, he had finally stopped thankfully. Laying on your stomach, you stuffed your face into your pillow and lay there. Unsure whether you wanted to cry or scream, you decided to do both.
Why did this have to happen to you? Why him of all people!?
You never paid soulmates much mind or attention, mostly just assuming that you’d find yours when the time was right, but you at least thought yours would be a relatively well-adjusted person who wasn’t public enemy number 1. The radio next to your bed began to play news reports on the death of Asakura Takeshi, causing you to groan and reach over to shut it off. You hated that his name was trending on every radio station now, it made your stomach feel sick every time he was mentioned, and it only made you fall even deeper into despair. What had you done to the universe that it paired you with the most awful man in the world?
Turning over from your pillow and laying on your back, you brought your hand up to your forehead to massage your head. Only to feel your skin raw and slightly burn at your touch. Furrowing your brows, you sat up from your bed and ran to your bathroom to inspect yourself in the mirror. At some point during your killer headache, it appeared as though Asakura had been hitting his head on something to the point that it created a rather noticeable large scrape on your head that was bleeding a little. Groaning in annoyance, you began to run the water to rinse off the area so you could treat it. Splashing the cold water on your face, you tried to pretend like the water was washing away your thoughts of him. Maybe in the morning, you’d try to find those other two men who were facing off against Asakura that day in the restaurant.
Drying your face off with a hand towel, you reached to open the medicine cabinet behind your mirror when something grabbed your wrist and pulled you into the mirror. You let out a shrill scream before grunting in pain as you were thrown onto a cold and rough floor.
Looking up in alarm, you were surrounded by strange-looking anthropomorphic creatures. They would've been rather ridiculous if they weren’t so terrifying, especially their large and dangerous-looking weapons. As one raised its hand above its head, preparing to strike you down with its giant blade, you rolled onto your stomach and used your hands to push you off the ground. Narrowly dodging the giant weapon, you began to run as if your life depended on it. Because it did.
“HELP! SOMEONE!? ANYONE! HELP ME, PLEASE!” You screamed out loud, but no one was around. Your eyes scanned your surroundings wildly, looking for any safe space or place where you could hide from the monsters chasing you. Ducking into an alleyway, you appeared to find yourself on a city street. However, the roads were completely empty and there were no other people rushing to the places they need to go like they usually do. The only things around were you and the buildings.
Oh, and the giant animal monsters that are following you.
No longer dwelling on your questions, you began to run again as you heard the sounds of the monsters following you come closer. Your chest was beginning to hurt and your throat was starting to become dry but you still pushed for your legs to keep going. Deciding to duck into a building to hide rather than staying on the open street where you were vulnerable and easy to see. Just as you were about to turn, you were cut off by a giant purple serpent that was half as large as the building itself. It slithered its way from out of nowhere and hissed, its head angled directly at you and flicking it’s giant tongue. Stopping in your tracks, you closed your eyes and yelled as you expected large fangs to pierce themselves inside of you and rip you apart. Yet, that moment never came. The snake monster hissed but never struck, it wasn’t until you heard the sounds of another human being grunting and yelling did you finally open your eyes to survey the scene.
A man in purple armor was fighting the monsters with a large sword-like weapon that looked like a snake’s rattle. The large snake’s body was coiled around yours, as if keeping you from being hurt from the battle, while the matching purple warrior laughed sadistically as it cut through the monsters pursuing you. Your mind became even more confused as you watched him fight.
Was he…enjoying himself? Your head felt dizzy with all of the unbelievable things you’ve been seeing.
When he had finally beaten the monsters, he turned his head towards you and the snake.
“Dinner time!” He yelled with sadistic glee.
Once he stood out of the way, the giant serpent monster lunged towards the pile of the dead monsters and began to devour them much like a real snake would. You couldn’t move, all you could do was simply observe and watch in utter horror. Asakura had been watching your reactions carefully from his spot and taking notice of your face. He didn’t really get the best look at it last time and while he was never easily swayed by a pretty face, you were quite attractive from where he stood. Your (e/c) eyes wide with horror and confusion, you looked slightly disheveled due to the madness you just went through, and he could see the matching scrape on your forehead that he shared. Absenmindedly touching his helmet where his own self-inflicted sore was, he soon clenched that hand into a fist as he began to walk towards you.
“You.” He called out harshly, causing you to flinch in surprise.
You cautiously stood up, you felt like a cornered mouse as you nervously gulped.
“P-Please don’t hurt me.” You pleaded, unmoving as the armored man continued to advance upon you.
You looked pathetic and helpless right now. It made that familiar feeling of irritation grow inside of Asakura as he roughly grabbed your wrist and pulled you closer to him.
“You’re starting to piss me off,” He snarled, pulling you with him. You were hesitant to follow him but his grip was strong as he continued to tug you along to follow him, “First you show up at my first fight with Kitaoka, then you end up getting yourself in trouble. As irritaiting as it will be, I’ll need to watch you so you can’t get in the way of my fighting!
You frown at his words, unsure why you had pissed him off when this was the first time you had ever met him. However, the way he spoke and the lust for fighting in his words soon pieced together and completed the puzzle of who this man was.
“Asakura!?” You screeched, trying to pull your arm away from him.
His grip only tightened but he seemed amused by your sudden defiance as he continued to tug you along after him, chuckling a little.
“Don’t act so brave after I just had to save you.” He taunted, walking towards a reflective window.
Tossing you with ease into the window, you braced yourself for broken glass to pierce your skin. Only to, once again, find yourself falling onto an uncomfortably hard and cold floor.
When you looked up, you watched as Asakura’s purple armor began to disappear as he walked through the window of that empty world into the regular one,, his dark brown eyes looked on you and a sadistic smirk tugged at the corner of his lips at the sight of your disgusted and angry expression.
“What is going on!? Why are you here!? Why am I here!?” You interrogated instantly, wanting some questions for whatever the heck you just saw. The man in the snake skin jacket to rolled his eyes in annoyance before he roughly pulled you up from the floor and onto your feet. Grabbing the collar of your shirt to pull you down so he could look down at you, he returned your bitter stare.
“Don’t start irritaiting me already.” Asakura spoke in a warning tone before letting you go. Stumbling back, you glare at him but don’t say anything. Kicking a rock out of his way as he began to pace around, you took a moment to look around at your surroundings. You appeared to be in some shabby place in the forest that Asakura was using as a hideout from what you could tell. A small fire was the only source of warm and light as Asakura continued to silently pace, his eyes still studying you.
“What’s your name?” He finally asks.
You don’t really want to tell him but you also don’t want to push him considering you were out here alone with him and the fact you saw he had a giant snake monster thing.
“(L/n). (Y/n) (L/n).” You answer back, bitterly.
“(Y/n).” He repeated, you hated the way he said your first name. While he may have been your soulmate, it was way too casual of an act for your liking, especially considering the mocking tone in his voice as he said it. Now taking steps back to you, you slowly tried to back away to put as much distance between you and the criminal as you could. “The reason you’re here, (Y/n),” He began with a sneer, “is because you’re a weakness I can’t get rid of. So I’m going to keep my eye on you.”
You blink in disbelief at his words, not making much sense of them at first, “What…what do you mean by that?”
“It means, I’m going to keep you with me whether you like it or not.” He answered bitterly, “I don’t want to have to hold back just because my soulmate is too weak to do anything by themselves.”
He truly had a way with words. A feeling of indignance overcame you as you used both your hands to shove him away from you. “I’m not staying anywhere near you! You can’t make me!” You shout in defiance. You hate the way amusment became evident in Asakura’s face.
“You don’t have a choice and if you want to be difficult-”
A loud and deafening hiss began to rang, making you look side to side before you finally located the source of the sound to the mirror you and Asakura came through not too long ago. In the mirror, you saw the giant purple serpent that had protected you. It’s yellow eyes now staring into your soul.
“I can make things difficult.” Asakura finished, a very punchable and smug smile on his face.
Anxiety began to build up in your gut as Asakura stared down at you, eager to see what your reaction would be now. You feel tears building up at the corner of your eyes but you refuse to let them fall in front of this maniac. In shame and embarrassment, you hung your head so that you weren’t looking into Asakura’s dark eyes anymore and clenched your hands into fists.
“Tch, how could someone so irrritaiting be my soulmate?” He scoffed, causing the anger in your heart to grow.
Silently, you promise yourself that you will find some way to escape Asakura. Soulmate or not, you were not going to spend the rest of your life with a monster.
