finally remaking this as a proper intro post let’s gooooo

hi!!! call me story or stor; most people do. i got on tumblr about a year before the first porn ban and i haven’t been able to escape it since, and i’ve been writing fanfic since long before then (my ao3 is here if you’re curious, but you gotta have a registered account to read my stuff). i don’t have any dedicated sideblogs; i will force all my fandoms upon you and you will suffer.

speaking of fandoms, here’s a brief overview of what i’m into: - pokémon (it got me young and has dominated my life ever since) - various content creators (mostly on the mcyt side of things, though they’re not the only ones; some of them are depicted in the blorbo collage that is my header, but i can give a more detailed list if asked) - taylor swift (not to the extent of the nuttier sides of the fandom but my god i love her stuff) - marvel universe (used to be primarily mcu, but i’ve been leaning more towards avengers: earth’s mightiest heroes and the comics recently; my favorite series are probably runaways, avengers academy, squirrel girl, new avengers (2015), and S.W.O.R.D. (2020), and my favorite characters encompass a wide swath of the 'verse) - miraculous ladybug (i want to leave but i can’t, the one thing sustaining me is fan works) - ben 10 (one of my first fictional crushes, now one of my enduring favorite series) - maximum ride (my twilight saga, basically) - twisted wonderland (gotta love me some pretty boys with Issues™) - monster high (primarily G3 at the moment, though G1 formed a nice part of my childhood) - so many other things not covered here like goddamn

“Your mom called…Bella’s decided…move here.”

That broken phrase had played over and over again in Paxton’s mind all day. It had put her head into a waterlogged state and shifted her emotions into chaos. Walking through the halls of Forks High School, the teen kept her head down. The hood of her light weight grey sweatshirt, that rested under her red and black flannel, was up to shield her face, and her fidgety hands stuffed deep into the pockets of her white washed jeans. Her Jordan’s scuffed against the dated linoleum floors as her feet drug with each step.

Paxton didn’t know what to feel. She hadn’t seen Bella in years, they didn’t talk unless on parent forced them to on a holiday. Those conversations were short, awkward, and emotionless. The two were strangers who shared a last name. They lived separate lives and now they were going to collide because Bella wanted it? Why didn’t she get a say? Why hadn’t it been a discussion instead of just Charlie informing her this was what was going to happen? It wasn’t how the two had worked her whole life. Before Bella was here things were already changing.

A sense of betrayal filled her with those thoughts. Then came anger, this was her life too! But the betrayal also caused pain, she hadn’t been involved—her feelings and thoughts weren’t taken into consideration. And finally anxiety that these changes would destroy the normal Paxton had worked so hard to get. Anxiety that woke up demons within her the Swan had thought long passed. A broken groan quietly passed her lips as she took one hand from her pocket to turn up the volume on her phone so maybe the music in her ears would drowned them out. She had been doing so well since the incident last year.

To any outside observer it was clear something was off with the usually playful girl. Normally she’d be laughing and goofing off with Mike, teasing Angela about Eric, or going on about some new character she’d found in the rare comic she’d found in the rundown bookstore on Main Street. But instead she was isolating herself. She hadn’t said hi to anyone today, avoided any social interaction when possible. Paxton was again shutting down, things too overwhelming to even fake being okay.

As she made her way into the Creative Writing classroom—a class that usually filled her with happiness and provided an escape— she stayed withdrawn. A slow exhale of a deep breath, pulling one headphone from her ear, Paxton moved through the rows of desks to her seat. What proved even more the teen was too far into her head was when her grey-blue eyes scanned one Rosalie Hale and didn’t feel that normal spark of electricity. Normally, she’d give a light smile or a nod of her head before she took her seat. Maybe if she was feeling brave enough a ‘hey’ would be said.

Today though as soon as those deep all knowing honey eyes landed on Paxton, she put her head further down and quickly took her seat. Paxton knew with one look Rosalie would know something was seriously wrong. How? Paxton wasn’t sure. But over the last year the two had created this language—a form of communication that didn’t even consist of words. A twitch of a lip, the movement of a brow, the way a shoulder or head would tilt, and the endless expression from eyes. A full silent conversation could happen within seconds. At times Paxton half believed it was in her head, a fantasy. Rosalie Hale was a stunningly beautiful senior, above her on more than one level, and a part of the Cullen family—Paxton was just a lowly junior from a one parent home that barely made it by. It couldn’t be real. But something within her always said it was real.

Paxton rolled her neck as she slide down into the uncomfortable plastic chair, her notebook open in front of her and pen in her hand. Without conscious thought the pen started to tap to the music still playing in her one ear. She just wanted to get through this class so the day could end.

But it seemed the fates, who loved toying with her, had other plans. Instead of a lecture their teacher had decided to torture her. An in class assignment that was due by the bell…partners with the person behind you. The grip on her pen tightened, eyes closed as a silent pray went up that this was a dream. Any other day Paxton would be thanking the fates, grateful for the chance to talk to her secret crush.

Swallowing roughly, Paxton turned her body to be halfway facing Rosalie. The assignment paper on her lap resting on her notebook. Her eyes still downcast. “I’m good with however you want to do this.” Her voice was gravely from a days worth of silence, the words a near whisper as if she spoke too loudly it would be overwhelming.

Hot takes galore 2: A brief overview of fandom backlashes that influenced fanfiction writing traditions as I have personally experienced them.

In this segment we examine...THE INDOMITABLE MARY SUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, as I was entering fandom in 2008 (Bleach, a manga by Kubo Tite), the hottest, sweattiest discourse pertained perhaps to Mary Sues. I thought the hatred of Mary Sues had completed its cycle and it was dead and gone in our days, BUT I happened upon a post that said that we are all stanning Moxiang Tongxiu’s OCs (original characters), in a sort of admonishing tone, and I couldn’t help but smile.

For back in the day, OCs, were termed self-inserts at best, and if they were a female protagonist that would sideline the canonical cast of characters then they were Mary Sues. And there were as many people hating original characters, and Mary Sues in particular that I remember sitting up all night thinking on whether I should post or not this fic that had some OCs in it that were there to just deliver some messages.

And of course this bled into accusations of writing canonical characters as basically “original characters” or “self-inserts”, by use of the term “ooc” (out of character). Personally, I thought this was over, but recently Riri accused me of disregarding the existing characterization and turning the CQL characters into my own original characters...for KINKY HAVOC IN VOLCANO PALACE!

An unjust accusation, I feel, Riri, because I do my damnedest to maintain characterization even under the wildest circumstances. 

People were looking to extend their enjoyment of the existing characters and story, and for some reason fanfic authors could come under fire for not catering to that, and writing for their personal self-fulfillment. 

And there were as many people writing oc’s and Mary Sues as there were people hating them, and the writers for it. It was chaos, there were journals (i was in livejournal) devoted to roasting mary sues, laughing at authors etc. If you came in fandom after me, you live in much much gentler times, and perhaps you have the Mary Sue to thank for that, because the Mary Sue kickstarted a lot of fandom feminist discourse.

Back in the day they usually determined “Mary Sue” as an overpowered, female character, whom everyone loved even though she might not be particularly charming (by whose standards?), who was adept at everything, knew everything, felt everything etc. 

The thing is that Mary Sues did not seem to exist only in fanfiction, but everywhere around us, whenever there would be a project film/show/comic/book that had a strong female protagonist.

And that was because fandom and male nerd culture were intertwined. Anime, games, comic books were heavily “invaded” by swaths of girls who were not quite fulfilled by corny pop stars, or saccharine rom coms, and seeing that there were no female power fantasies available in these media, they created their own.

It was a very interesting time because if you remember, Marvel Movies started getting made around that time, riding on that convention power, which was dominated by male nerd culture - and that is why they gave so little screen time to female characters, because the demographic was pretty thoroughly examined and they were found to dislike any and every female character that was not there to validate the male character’s cishetero sexuality (YEAH BABY)

I mean women, actresses, female characters had a good portion in media, and the marvel cinematic universe and its imitators pretty much sidelined all these people very aggressively. Male stories started exploding and taking over during this time, exploiting that very vocal male nerd demographic. 

But where is the backlash you ask, because so far we’ve only seen the oppression. 

I saw a lot of writers struggle with the validity of the female character, and then the validity of female writing. They conflated writing female characters, as writing without examining themselves, or attaining a neutral voice and a role of representing accurately reality (lol). Writing Mary Sues was bad writing, and at some point all women were Mary Sues.

...So can you guess what happened?

A lot of these people turned to male slash in order to cope. Before the Mary Sue hate, male slash was a considerable but not dominant piece on the fanfic pie, which was mostly dominated by main het ships. Male slash was already enjoyed by female heterosexual audiences, but it started gaining more and more traction until a term was coined (shipping goggles), and accusations were once more flung: that fangirls will ship any two white dudes - not untrue. 

This audience was not very friendly to actual gay people. There were all sorts of strange views passing before my bespectacled eyes at the time. People proclaiming that they loved yaoi (i was in manga, so this was the term used), but would not watch gay porn, and thought gay people were gross. And in the case where gay people were in fandom these people often complained of not being included/invited in fandom activities, or having minimal readership from groups that promoted male slash, but not gay writers.

This is why I often say fandom is not a friendly place for lgbtq people, because this type of audience still exists, even if it had to suppress their discomfort and assimilate the rhetoric of allyship at some point. And sadly a lot of people who dominated these early discussions about fandom becoming more lgbtq friendly since it consumed such relationships in media, managed to set this climate of dishonesty where everyone is pro-lgbtq in theory, but not in action.

Meaning a lot of stereotyping that is not endemic to actual lgbtq communities. Like top-bottom (most people are verses), whiny bottom, subby bottom, violent top, aggressive sex, hypersexual gay characters, almost complete erasure of bisexuality, lesbians what are they?, a complete and absolute fear in portraying trans characters, suppression of genderfluidity, accusing people of writing male gay characters as female characters as a form of wish-fulfillment or supposed homophobia.

A while ago I saw this article asking why lgbtq people are so mean to each other that confused me thoroughly, until I remembered this call out phase that happened a while ago and still goes on, where everyone blames everyone else of abusing and gaslighting them, friendships falling out etc, which is not at all the reality of older lgbtq scenes, because these were not formed online under this climate. 

And because fandom is a vehicle for self-exploration a lot of people to this day conflate consuming lgbtq relationships through media as being lgbtq themselves, or these “actual” relationships being set as these other fictional “idealized” relationships. Whereas in older lgbtq scenes a lot of people come into them by realizing their attraction to actual, real, live people and not characters, or hot celebrities.

I am not saying that current lgbtq people who discovered that about themselves online are lying, or lying to themselves, but they definitely came out in an environment of fake acceptance, and have a hard time reconciling reality with that lie of acceptance through no fault of their own, of course, because they never developed the language and the understanding that language brings in order to communicate amongst them. The characteristics were set by a group outside of them that might be pro gay marriage, and having a cool gay friend, and the inherent tragedy of homosexuality or something, but are not really for it - as a very wise queer eye contestant once said. 

And so every trespass by their own people, becomes a proof of this generalized rejection with tremendous consequences for young people’s mental health. YOU ARE BEING GASLIT IT’S TRUE - but not by your own people, it’s just a miscommunication going on there.    

BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MARY SUE. She changed. She stopped seeking love, sex, and power, or at least pretended that she did not want any of these things, or did not understand them, she stopped speaking, and became more stoic so people wouldn’t judge her opinions, and finally one day she went on to accomplish great things, because women seeking representation was also a pretty set demographic, and somebody could and would exploit that!

The Twilight Saga, Fifty Shades of Grey, even Hunger Games, are the media progeny of the Mary Sue powering through the entirely of male nerd culture. In a whole decade where people wanted Marvel to release a Black Widow movie, there have been three major spy/action girl movies that did very well in the box office, and since producing and releasing a movie usually takes three years, i’d say the audience was heard loud and clear - even though not by Marvel. 

And the side girls in these Marvel movies, or other action movies, became more and more badass - they all went from damsel in distress, to saving the hero, and of course the male characters were subsequently “queer-ified” until everyone was finally happy, and nerd culture was exposed as having been infiltrated by neonazis and that’s why it was making those unreasonable demands for no women ever in the first place.

And everything was right in the world, except that it was not. Because...girls had also been infiltrated by “neonazis”. A lot of these media, and a lot of these “white” Mary Sues, fall under many conservative criteria. Conservatism being a nice word for fascism. 

A few examples is the person of color always dies, or is brutalized, or is admonished constantly even as they shadow the protagonist in order to reinforce their inherent radiance. Characters who might be poc in books or in the anime (hur hur), are whitewashed in the visual media. The women are almost never comfortable with sex or romance, always thinking about the future and amassing power, not for themselves, but for the benefit of the resistance, or the family, or any other entity they belong to. And of course they are forever incredibly flawed - as opposed to idealized versions of male heroes always on the side of good for the right reasons! Also a minimal cast of women, with one woman being the protagonist, and the rest functioning as side characters or mostly antagonists.

So every time you feel a slight trepidation for not being the right type of lgbtq for writing something that is not strictly anal, or fear to include feminine characters, every time you erase yourself from the narrative it is it, the spectre of the Mary Sue coming to haunt you with a “We won, what more do you want?”

interview: The multi-talented band + dance group W.O.W debuts with ‘Miss U’

1.     Firstly, please introduce yourself.

Yonghun: Hi! I’m Younghun, the rapper of W.O.W.

Yoon Daro: I’m W.O.W’s drummer, A.CONIC’s model and designer, Yoon Daro.

Jeon Sejin: Hello! I’m the leader of W.O.W, Jeon Sejin. I’m also the leader of the group The King and the band A.Fact. Currently I’m active as a director and actor. Thank you so much for having us for the interview.

Joo Wondae: Hello! I’m Joo Wondae, the guitarist and vocalist of W.O.W!

2.     Tell us about your debut track.

Yonghun: This track is about breaking up with a loved one and missing that person.

Yoon Daro: It's a soft song that’s suitable for spring when you miss your ex-lover.

Jeon Sejin: Our debut track, ‘Miss U’ is a song that anyone can comfortably listen to. It's a song that shows the members' voices well, so you can see the team's colour as well.

Joo Wondae: The song is called ‘Miss U’ and it's about missing a departed lover, it's a song to listen to in spring.

Yousung: ‘Miss U’ is a hip-hop song that combines both band and dance. It’s a song that expresses the feelings of longing for a shattered love and hope it blooms again after the season.

Kwon Taeeun: It's a dance song called ‘Miss U’ with band sounds. The song expresses the longing for a departed lover and hope that in time we will be together again, just like spring that comes again after four seasons.

Lee Pando: This track is a lonely but fast tempo song that expresses the desire to remember and hold on to the woman who I broken up with.

3.     What is the killing point of ‘Miss U’?

Yonghun: The lyrics in the chorus are very sad. I think those lyrics are the killing point of this song.

Yoon Daro: The killing point is Yoon Daro’s drum part, which has the combination of dance part and band sound with long hair waving from behind.

Jeon Sejin: The killing point of ‘Miss U’ is Taeeun’s high note and the member who’s in charge of rap part in the first verse is also very good. I think those parts are the killing points.

Joo Wondae: I think it's the perfect group dance and my singing part at the beginning of the chorus.

Yousung: The lyrics of ‘Miss U’ are pretty, but the hand choreography is very pretty.

Kwon Taeeun: Since I'm a vocalist, I think it's an ad-lib in the second half.

Lee Pando: There’s a lyric, ‘Even your pretty voice’, and I think Taeeun’s sentimental side is the killing point in that part.

4.     What side do you wish to show through this debut?

Yonghun: What we've prepared so far is a collaboration performance between the dance team and the band team, unlike other idols. We want to show this to the fans.

Yoon Daro: Beyond the model, designer, and drummer, I want to show you how I become an all-rounder entertainer who stands out in many broadcasts.

Jeon Sejin: I want to show you that when you meet and get together with your friends who have been doing individual activities, even if it’s not your first debut, you can create synergy like this. I also want to satisfy my thirst for the stage through more promotional activities.

Joo Wondae: New challenges are always fun. I want to show the side where my friends who’s working in other fields can gather and make good music together.

Yousung: As we are a group with band and dance combined, I think we can show various performances that other groups have not shown. Please look forward to our upcoming side!

Kwon Taeeun: We formed a project group while working in different fields, but I want to show our cool and talented side that is second to none.

Lee Pando: I want to show that the members who are active in their respective field can get together and also do well in various other fields like music and dance.

5.     What is the new challenge that you took on while preparing for this debut?

Yonghun: It was great to work with new team members, and I think our efforts to show a better performance itself is a challenge.

Yoon Daro: It wasn't shown on the stage, but the members who played instrument also practiced the choreography together and challenged the dance.

Jeon Sejin: There was no new challenge, but it feels new to dance once again. While learning the choreography for the debut track, I was able to feel how I felt when I first debuted.

Joo Wondae: I learned how to play the guitar! It's my first time learning how to sing too, so I'm still inexperienced, but I hope you like it. 😊

Yousung: While preparing for the debut, I think it was a new challenge not only to dance but also to work with the band.

Kwon Taeeun: When I was in Produce X 101, I was mainly a sub-vocalist. But this time, I’m in charge of the high pitch. So that’s a new challenge for me.

Lee Pando: I've been playing bass like since I wanted to play an instrument, but I think this time I practice more while making and recording music. It’s a new challenge.

6.     Who had the hardest time while practicing for the debut?

Yonghun: No one had a hard time. Everyone enjoyed the experience, so it was comfortable while preparing for the debut.

Yoon Daro: All the members might have had their own hard time during the preparation period, but I think it wasn't that difficult because we worked hard together.

Jeon Sejin: Everyone worked so hard. Since each member had a lot of individual schedules, we adjusted our schedules and kept working hard together.

Joo Wondae: Everyone worked hard, so I think it must have been hard for everyone.

Yousung: The one who had the hardest time… I can’t think of any member. Each member has a strong personality and everyone is good at their own field. At first, I was worried that there might be a conflict of opinions. But we were able to practice comfortably because we know our own style and each other's difficulties.

Kwon Taeeun: I think Yonghun must have had the hardest time. My dancing skill is a bit lacking, so I’m thankful for the 1-to-1 Spartan class but I think it must have been hard.

Lee Pando: None of us had a hard time. When I saw the members learning, making, and practicing the choreography, I thought they were really cool. The band members were doing their best too, so I got motivated and practiced harder.

7.     All members come from different backgrounds, how your experience in respective areas actually help as W.O.W members?

Yonghun: I've been dancing for a long time, so I think it helped a lot in the dance part.

Yoon Daro: Since I’m a fashion designer, I have a lot of interest in fashion and I have variety of clothes, so I think it helped the styling and style making of the members.

Jeon Sejin: My two leadership experiences and activities in many fields serve as guides for the members.

Joo Wondae: Since I've been a model for a long time, I was paying a lot of attention to the styling of the members. 🖖🏻

Yousung: Since I had debuted as an idol before, I was able to help the members in adjusting the stage settings with the choreography!

Kwon Taeeun: I started out as a rookie on Produce X 101 and modeling activities, but I think I can improve the perfection of the stage by knowing how not to tremble in front of the camera and how to look pretty.

Lee Pando: Because I act as a profession (though I'm still lacking a lot...), I think I was able to understand the emotions of each lyrics when I was singing and dancing, and I was able to express my feelings more sincerely.

8.     After a long day of schedules, what do you do to relax yourself?

Yonghun: I’d go home and fall asleep while watching a movie.

Yoon Daro: When I reach home, I take a shower and watch YouTube or read books. These days I’m studying various languages to communicate with fans from all over the world, of course I want to learn to speak Malay too 😀.

Jeon Sejin: Since I’m working hard to lose weight through diet, I’d fall asleep while looking at the food pictures. I also check everyone's cheering messages from time to time.

Joo Wondae: I often get neck pain, so I always do stretching and massage when I get home.

Yousung: After a long day's schedule, I usually like to watch dramas or movies while drinking Iced Americano at home.

Kwon Taeeun: I’ll definitely eat grilled chicken. Finishing the schedule with delicious food... I don't think there's anything more enjoyable than this. 😊 But still, I don't eat fried food because I have a conscience.

Lee Pando: My friends, whom I became close to while in the military loves to play games, so I play games and talk with them to relieve my stress.

9.     Anything you are addicted to recently?

Yonghun: I’m addicted to The Twilight Saga movies these days.

Yoon Daro: As I communicate with fans these days, I have a lot of interest in different countries’ languages.

Jeon Sejin: Recently I’m addicted to stevia tomato. It's those sweet tomatos and you should try it too. Eat them two or three times! It's very delicious. 😊

Joo Wondae: Recently, I moved to a new house and have been addicted to decorating!

Yousung: It's been so much fun to practice acting these days!!!

Kwon Taeeun: I think it's perfume and beanie. I have 14 bottles of perfume and 7 beanies now. I feel proud each time I add my collection.

Lee Pando: Game, bass guitar practice and how to get closer to fans? 

10.  What do you want to do on a rainy day?

Yonghun: I want to turn off the lights in my room and rest while listening to calm music.

Yoon Daro: I'd like to look out the window, drink coffee and play good songs while talking to all of you through live stream or any other platforms.

Jeon Sejin: On a rainy day, I want to have makgeolli (rice wine), fried pancakes, and pork belly while listening to the sound of rain at home. Just a sip of makgeolli...

Yousung: I want to drink Iced Americano while watching the rain. 😊

Kwon Taeeun: I hate getting rained on, so I always stay at home. I think I'll order fish cake soup or chicken while listening to the sound of rain at home.

Lee Pando: Squid, kimchi pancake and green onion pancake with makgeolli.. I'm going to write lyrics and melodies when I get sentimental.

11.  What kind of music you wish to pursue as W.O.W?

Yonghun: I don't know what other members think, but I want to try all type of genres.

Yoon Daro: I want to make music that can sympathize and speak to everyone.

Jeon Sejin: W.O.W will continue to play music that is comfortable to listen to and we will often come up with music that everyone will like.

Joo Wondae: I want to do music that’s popular and shows W.O.W's colour.

Yousung: I want to do music that can express each individual’s personality better and stand out without being bound by the genre.

Kwon Taeeun: All the members like the band sound. Through band songs, I want to make songs that have a good rhythm and can be familiar to everyone who listens.

Lee Pando: Whether it's bright or heavy music that many people can relate to and get comfort from, I want to do music that can start the day and end the day.

12.  What is your biggest strength as a singer?

Yonghun: When I stand in front of the camera, I don't get nervous but rather do much better.

Yoon Daro: A relatively tall in height, clothes, stories from various background and long-haired visual?

Jeon Sejin: My biggest strength as a singer is my high notes. It's a strength that I haven't shown you much yet, but I'll try harder to show you more someday.

Yousung: I think my strengths are being able to do well in both visual and singing and rap. ^^ Hohoho

Kwon Taeeun: I'm not very good at singing, but I think I have a good voice...^^

13.  What was your reaction when you hear fans said you are good looking?

Yonghun: I have to thank my parents for giving birth to me with such look.

Yoon Daro: I'm always grateful and I think I should work harder.

Jeon Sejin: It's always thrilling and fun. That compliment always makes me feel great. I want to keep listening. Please shout out more and more, with my name.

Joo Wondae: I've never heard of being called handsome. ^^...

Yousung: Whenever I hear that I'm handsome, I feel happy and I can't get enough of it! I remember what actor Jung Woo Sung said, “It's always refreshing. It's always thrilling!” That's what I remember.

Kwon Taeeun: I like it. It's good whenever I listen to it, but I always feel shy. For some reason, I don't think I deserve that compliment for now.

Lee Pando: It's always exciting. It always feels like the first time. I'm embarrassed, but I want to keep listening.

14.  Your goal as a W.O.W member?

Yonghun: As a member, I want to live a smooth life without arguing with each other.

Yoon Daro: I want to work hard as a band and become an all-rounder entertainer. I want to be good friends with all of you as well.

Jeon Sejin: My goal as a W.O.W member is to make sure that everyone in the team can achieve satisfactory results. I’ll lead each member well so that they can shine with their abilities and charms. I’ll do my best so that we can receive greater love from everyone.

Joo Wondae: I want to do music together for a long time. I want to meet with our fans who love W.O.W all over the world.

Yousung: Now that we started with W.O.W, my goal is to make as many people as possible interested in us and like us.

Kwon Taeeun: As a member of the team, I will try to carry out my activities without bothering the team even though I can’t lead the team to do very well.

Lee Pando: I want to become a W.O.W member who can communicate more with the members and fans and feel the joy and sorrows together.

I just made my own IPVDb: Internet Pentagon Vids Database with personal ratings because that’s my life now I guess.

This is purely because I’m bored but also because my sad life revolves entirely around them.

Set during Tomato Kino era, this one’s a great mix of cringeyness (Changgu put that umbrella down pls), musicality (we get the absolute best version of Sha La La that has ever been granted to us) and even educational moments? Who else but pedantic trilingual MUN conference speaker Hongnerd wouldn’t let the members sleep for not saying TEETH the proper way. WHO CARES. Although I’ll forgive him because I, too, once fell asleep whilst standing up, and I feel like we should support each other in this community. We also get Hui speaking English and Kino almost busting a lung which, although they give off very different vibes, are both part of my fav Pentagon’s title tracks. Deserved 5 stars at first but it was until I saw that terrifying cheek kiss at the end. Or whatever that was. But these guys are weird.

Fact iN Star 

A glorious display of Pentagon’s first passion: roasting each other. Yuto did Shinwon so dirty it made me see the world from a new perspective. But the iconic “I’ll give you more lines” alone deserves a show win. Even Kino calling Hui “Hoetaek-ah” and then being this close to walk through the window to hide in Australia sends me every time. And you know how everyone’s been saying Wooseok deserves an Oscar for the crazy act that makes him look like he’s taking 200V every time he’s on stage? We been knew he invented Hollywood when he acted Yeooner than Yeoone himself in one firy “where’s the camera” gesture. But anyway, the point is that now I can’t listen to Sha La La (2nd best version) without Yanan’s interpretation of Wooseok’s verse now. This video changed me but not sure it’s in a good way.

Alternatively an hour of Hui embarrassing his members and Yuto laughing instead of breathing. Also the one and only video in which Yeoone made me laugh but he was trying so hard I think that was just out of pity. This video was actually one of the first I watched when I got into them and I started to understand what I got myself into when Wooseok’s special talent was to imitate a broken weeder. Because right that’s something totally normal to be bragging about. I hold this video very dear to my heart, I’ll never say no to Kino dancing on TT or Hui vibin on his piano but you know it was all fun and games until Hong started hugging Jinho from behind out. of. nowhere. 

I rate it 1 ugly moon for this very reason 🌝

Part 2 is even worse. A year into this madness has made it clear to me they’re particularly bad at all games but I should’ve known when I saw them lose so miserably without any competitors. That’s just another video of them begging the staff to tolerate their incompetency. And even then, they’re supposed to make them laugh and what do they do?? Kino?? We get a pterodactyl getting kicked, a member of staff losing an eye, Kino just... ridin a pony in full Ginuwine style and a love story between Shinwon and a bowl of radish that was more emotional than the whole Twilight saga.

I just recently went back and watched a playthrough of the whole game and I just love Connor’s story so much. I love seeing that robot exterior break until he starts to feel empathy and just that’s what I love about him. He genuinely (if you play it that way lol) is a good person/android. And if you think about the fact that he was literally used as a pawn against deviants ugh my boy.

I was tagged by both @jiyamarrii & @chasethesun18 to do this, so I’ll be answering 22 questions. But I love these things so I’m totally okay with it LOL. Anyway, let’s get started!

Laura’s Questions

1. Marvel or DC? TV-Verse or Film-Verse? Why? — The easy answer to this question is that I like all superhero stuff. I tend to watch more Marvel, but I’m a big fan of both. MCU? Yes please. Smallville? Sign me up. I haven’t watched the Marvel Netflix shows yet, but I really want to. Cloak and Dagger on Freeform is pretty good so far! I watched the first two seasons of Arrow and most of the Flash, but since the CW added all the other DC shows to their programming, I’ve been a little overwhelmed, but they’re still good! So yeah, long story short, I like it all :)

2. I’m looking for new TV shows to watch. Recommend me a show and tell me why you think I’d like it. — I can’t remember if you’ve watched Gilmore Girls or not, but I recommend it to everyone who wants something funny and heartwarming, but heartbreaking sometimes, too. Lorelai is my SPIRIT ANIMAL. Otherwise, I recommend Lost in Space on Netflix if you’re into Sci-Fi stuff (it’s also funny, and the characters are amazing). One Tree Hill is amazing if you’re into soapy teen dramas (like 90210 or Gossip Girl). The awesome thing about OTH though, is that it’s obviously drama, but it deals with other serious topics and it isn’t bitchy like GG. The characters are all different in their own way, and it’s my favorite teen drama show of all time.

3. Watch a random episode of Timeless. Tell me your opinions on the episode and I’ll try to guess which episode you watched. — Okay, so I know each episode like the back of my hand, so let’s go. It’s my second favorite episode of the entire show. The music is A+. (You’ve probably already guessed it by now lolol.) It has one of my top 5 favorite Lucy outfits. I’ve seen this episode so many times I’m pretty sure I can almost recite it word for word (and I’m not sorry about that).

4. Do you have a skin care routine? If yes, what is it? — Not really. I don’t use much on my skin to tell you the truth. I use the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing green tea scrub every other day, and once in a while I’ll use a Biore charcoal pore strip. Other than that I don’t use anything.

5. What are your favorite pair of shoes? Why? — This might sound completely childish, but I LOVE my shoes that have daisies on them. I got them at Payless, and they’re Minnie Mouse brand, but they’re black with little daisies printed on them and I love them so much. I need a new pair soon because they’re a few years old and they’re worn, but I love them to death.

6. What is your phone wallpaper? What is your desktop wallpaper? — My lock screen on my phone is a picture I found on Google Images of Timeless. It’s blue and has the Time Team and the Timeless logo with a cloud. My home screen on my phone is a cotton candy-esque background. My desktop wallpaper is the Timeless edit I made with the Taylor lyric “Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it.”

7. If you could have dinner with one person, dead, alive, or fictional, who would it be and why? — I really want to say Lorelai Gilmore (or anyone from Gilmore Girls, honestly..) for this one. Eating at Luke’s Diner? Yes. Please. I’m all in.

8. What’s your favorite smell? Why? — This is very oddly specific, but I have this notebook that I got for Christmas last year. And every book/notebook/paper smells good, but THIS NOTEBOOK. It’s my favorite kind of paper smell. I know, it’s weird, but it’s amazing. Otherwise I love lemon, vanilla, and peppermint scents and the smell of the grill when we grill hamburgers/hot dogs.

9. Do you have any tattoos? If yes, what are they? Do you regret any of them? — I do not have any tattoos, but I want to get one in the near future.

10. What is your horoscope for today? —  Jun 11, 2018 - You enjoy caring for others and you intervene regularly in their lives to guide them. Ironically, today you're the one who needs advice. You'll probably need to get away from it all in order to get a clear view of your own life, Leo. You could even decide to make the necessary arrangements for a trip abroad.

11. Beards: Yes or No? — UM YES.

Ryan’s Questions

1. If a book becomes a movie do you read it or watch it first? — Most of the time I don’t realize a movie was a book until after I see it. And then I always end up liking the movie better. (IE the Twilight saga) I always try to read the book first, but sometimes I’ll just watch the movie. 

2. What’s your favorite Disney movie? — OOH OKAY LET’S GO. Tangled is my favorite all-animated Disney movie. Meet the Robinsons comes at a second. Enchanted is my all-time favorite Disney movie EVER. My Favorite Martian is my favorite all-non-animated Disney movie. Also The Princess Diaries comes at a close second.

3. If you could have one superpower what would it be? — If I got to choose I would want to have telekinesis. Matilda has solidified that dream LOL.

4. Do you believe in soul mates? — I’m not sure, to tell you the truth. I don’t like to think that there’s only ONE person in the entire world that I’m meant to be with, and that they’re my other half. I mean, it’s a nice concept, but also I feel like I would just be too worried that I won’t ever meet my soulmate because it could literally be anyone in the entire universe. I’m meh on the subject.

5. What’s your happiest memory? — Honestly I think my most happy memories are when I was really little, like in early elementary school? Like, ages 5-11 is when I think I was most happy. And don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy now and whatever, but I have more responsibility now and I was more carefree back then. One memory that sticks out is Christmas of 2010. I got my DSi XL and I was at my grandparents house with all of my cousins. We played around on the DS and took pictures, and I still have them saved on it. The very first picture I ever took on it. It was just such a happy time for me, and I love thinking back on it.

6. Most embarrassing memory? — I threw up in front of my entire classroom in 4th grade. It was terrible. And it happened so long ago, but I still can’t get over the fact that there are people my age who saw me throw up on the floor of our classroom. Nope. Let me go hide forever LOL.

7. Where do you see yourself in five years? — I don’t really like to plan that far ahead into the future, but in five years I’d like to be moved out of my parents’ house and working on getting my book published. (I’m still working on writing it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll be done with it by then and in the process of finding it a home.)

8. Who is/has been the most influential person in your life? — I have to go with my parents on this one. But only personality-wise. I’m not interested in what my parents do for a living, but I try to model my work-ethic and values after them. I’ve obviously grown my own personal tastes, but I see more of myself in them every day and I’m very proud of that.

9. If you could time travel to the start of this year and tell yourself something what would you tell yourself? — You won’t have everything figured out yet, and that’s okay. You’ll be pressured, but take things at your own pace. There’s nothing wrong with taking time to figure things out, no matter what everyone is telling you. You’ll get to where you want to be, you just have to take your time, and set your own pace.

10. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? — Wow, okay, this is going to sound lame. Are y’all ready? I stole a toy camera from Goodwill when I was, like, 6. I wanted it but I didn’t think my dad would let me, so I hid it in my coat pocket and never told anyone. That was literally the first thing that came to mind.. 

11. What’s your favorite thing about yourself? — I love that I don’t waver in my enjoyment of things. My sister mainly, always makes fun of me for wearing what I wear, for reading, and for listening to the kind of music that I listen to, but I’m very proud of all of those things and I don’t let it bother me. Yeah, it gets annoying when she tells me my taste in music sucks, but I will very happily listen to Two Weeks Late by Ashley Monroe at a high volume and sing along proudly. No shame. As Jessica Day so proudly states, “I break for birds! I rock a lot of polka-dots. I have touched glitter in the past twenty-four hours. I spend my entire day talking to children. And I find it fundamentally strange that you’re not a dessert person. That’s just weird and it freaks me out. And I’m sorry I don’t like Murphy Brown, and I hate your pantsuit; I wish it had ribbons on it or something to just make it slightly cuter. And that doesn’t mean I‘m not smart and tough and strong.”

Verse: STREGONI BENEFICI | CULLEN AU

░ Backstory ░ 

     Alexander was born in the dawn of 1700 along with his twin sister Jane in Scotland, more precisely in a village near Inverness. He grew up in an isolated environment while the country was slowly uprising for a Jacobite movement in which his father proudly participated, thus conveying the same beliefs to him as well. Ever since a child, Alec only wished to follow his father’s footsteps and transform himself into a soldier, prepared to fight for his homeland. Yet his patriotic sentiments were not enough to keep him safe. From a very tender age, he and his sister began to display strong and unexplained psychic abilities. Although they never practised witchcraft, their abnormal talent was hard to pass unnoticed as they grew in age. Eventually, at the age of 17 bloom of their teenage years, the twins were accused of witchcraft and were condemned to burn at the stake by the local clan chief.

     However, their innocence was clear to someone who had practised the profession of witch hunting before. Wishing to remain unknown, Carlisle Cullen did not interfere with their trial but he did eventually save them ( albeit their flesh had already started to melt by the fire), probably to atone for the innocent lives he had prosecuted in his past.  The transformation itself was a challenge to Carlisle and although he loathed to turn them to such ungodly creatures, he decided an immortal life was better than death by fire at the stake.

░ Immortal Life ░     

    The twins awoke to a new life and their new protector took them under his wing. Apart from being introduced to a vegetarian lifestyle and learning of their newfound disposition, Carlisle had proceeded to educate the pair. Ironically he used to teach them through the books of the New Testament before advancing slowly with their studies. At first, Alec would sneak at night and steal coins or jewels, sending the funds to the remains of the family he had left behind in Inverness, although forever remaining unknown. Had Carlisle found out of his doings, he never addressed the issue.

     Due to the nature of their vampire upbringing, it took Alec a great amount of time to expose any special ability and develop it. Carlisle was overjoyed at his gift and urged him to follow a medical field of studies, to which Alec complied. Even when Alec could not handle his thirst too well, he was able to use his sensory deprivation from a safe distance to patients Carlisle was treating and thus making the whole process bearable to the patients.

     Once their gifts were exposed, the twins attracted the attention of the Volturi and most importantly Aro, who did his best to attract the pair to his side and gain their trust. Although flattered, the siblings did not betray Carlisle and continued to stay by his side.  Aro did not seem to give up.

░ Presently ░ 

       Alec is a member of Olympic coven along with his twin sister and their adopted family, following them from town to town. Due to his youthful appearance, he is forced to attend school on occasions, although he prefers to pose as a medical student and thus spends his time mostly at the hospital due to his “internship”. He had always felt an attraction to the dark side of a vampire’s life and he sometimes slips to a change of diet before his conscious dominates his urges. But such a tendency still exists.

⇏ This is the basic outline of my CULLEN AU verse. I will develop it further if there is interest from my partners in rping it. Accordingly, I’d rather explore Alec’s relationship with the Cullen members individually with my partners but I might be prone to make a post of his reaction and take to each one.

⇏ Taking into consideration that the Volturi have not been dethroned by the Romanian coven due to Alec and Janes’ abilities, I leave this spot kinda blank until further notice. I’d love to hear opinions on it! Who knows, maybe eventually the Romanians would be restored! But this already would change the further plotline of the Twilight Saga concerning the Volturi.

My top 5 things I do to ease my wondering minds: you should try it ;)

If you don't know by now, Ruby Dhal is my favorite writer, I recommend her books to you a thousand times plus 1.

#1 Journaling

So I know at least half of us has had a journal growing up, especially growing up watching things like "as told by ginger" and/or "Ned Declassified"  on Nick. We all attempt to write in it everyday but got side tracked by our young minds and ended up going days, even years without posting another entry or we turned it into our own drawing book. If you were like me you had a handful of them that over time I got lost.

However, about two years ago I finally made another journal, but not your typical one. I had no restrictions on this one. I wrote song lyrics, added pictures I found on pintrest that caught my attention, quotes, bible verses, spur of the moment ideas like book outlines that I thought I can write, letters that will never reach the person intended, monthly estimates of bills, confessions and I even wrote song lyrics and I can't sing, and turns out I can't write a song either.

Journaling really has help me  as a outlet I can turn to it and i didn't have to worry that it was going to judge me, or tell my secrets to. Just keep in a safe spot.

#2. Painting

So you don't need to know how to draw for this, honestly just paint the first thing that comes to your mind. Mess it all up, put every color of the rainbow on there, make your own colors. Do it all. I get lost in painting, I'm  so focus on it that the world around kinda disappears, and it's only me and a canvas left.

#3. Create a Happy space "Literally"

( this step might not be the best for people who struggle with personality disorder) This is not easy as it seems, this takes focus and dedication and a lot imagination. This is also one of my biggest  kept secrets. (REMEMBER: THIS IS A JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE) I have made my idea world up in my head and I get lost in it from time to time, OK, a lot of the time. I built this world that I control and in this world I am who I want to be, I'm a whole lot cuter, thinner for sure and successful (not that I am in real life but just a whole lot more) Funny thing: In this world I'm married to this man who's like a 5 star pro football player and I live in a Malibu beach MANSION!!!  . WARNING: The down fall with this is that it kinda can get addicting and you need to learn when to pull yourself out of this world, you loose track of time, and worse case it affects your interaction with society. I normally listen to music when I do this, if you want know more, search the term Maladative dreaming, its very similar.

always ) Its fun to immense yourself and you learn some new things, it doesn't have to a fiction book, or a series, it has to be something that you like to do, and if your on of those people who say they "don't like to read" you just  haven't found the right book. So i encourage you to spend a day at the library, or barnes and noble if you don't have the time for that amazon is another good way of finding books, it could also be the cheapest. I find bookstores/ book shopping to be very therapeutic

#5. Cleaning

Ok wait, hear me out. This has been very therapeutic for me, espically when it comes to doing all of the other things I stated on this list. A fresh clean room, house and/or car, to me I feel like I'm cleaning out bad energy. Top it all of with a nice smelling candle or in scent and you have peace for while. Just do it and trust me.

Those are my top 5 things I do. I know it may seem like I tend to disassociate a lot but as long as you know how to control it, i find them very therapeutic. It helps me survive for another day and another one after that, before I know it has been 23 years and I'm still holding on cause I found something worth living for, and that I like to do.

Verse Drop Twilight Saga ;; Hail Mary

—————————— It was three days after Leysa Pavlychko was murdered as her three year old son in hid in the closet, watching, when the police came. Her boss having called them when Leysa missed work after a long weekend. Three days of Aleksei Pavlychko living in the apartment where his mother’s body rotted, seemingly more than content with just eating fruit he managed to find in the fridge and watching cartoons on the TV while her blood stained his clothes and his skin.

That was how Charlie Swan found him- the little boy only a year older than his own daughter at home, and though no one could necessarily understand why he thought it was a good idea, Officer Swan seemed to think that taking the little boy in, in an effort to save his failing marriage to his wife Renee. They’d actually been fairly happy when Isabella had been born- and he hoped that adding Aleksei to the family would bring that feeling back.

And yet, a year after Charlie brought Aleksei home, Renee had packed her bags and taken Bella with her, leaving Charlie with the little boy he’d insisted on them adopting. She’d never admit it out loud, but she was increasingly unsettled by the fact that Aleksei never cried, or fussed, and only seemed to stare with vacant eyes when someone asked something of him.

Neither of them wanted to put him into therapy- but they didn’t want to let him suffer. So it became routine. Every two years, like clockwork, something terrible seemed to happen to the little boy, which would make one parent ship him off to the other’s house until another two years past and it happened again.

First they were small things. Getting into fights on the playground that made teachers worry, and start to suggest having him see someone. And then he got bigger than the other kids, and if he got angry, things got bad. He was eight when a little boy annoyed him enough to have him grab him by the back of his head and bash his head into the metal supports of the jungle gym. The other boy was unconscious and bleeding heavily by the time teachers pulled Aleksei away. But perhaps what was even more terrifying than his actions was his response afterwards- for when he was pulled away, he stared on blankly, as if he hadn’t done anything at all. As if he hadn’t been angry in the first place.

His actions only grew worse, until he was eighteen and found himself on his last chance, being sent back to Forks, Washington with his adoptive sister Bella and a warning that if he got into trouble again, he wouldn’t be welcome home.

But meeting the Cullens gave him different plans. The night that James went after Bella, Aleksei was there, watching the Cullens play baseball. More importantly, he was staring down at his phone as he received news from one of the women in Seattle he’d been getting paid to sleep with. The news that he’d be becoming a father. Of course, James interrupted his plans to go see the woman- but leaving was easier for him than it was for Bella, because he’d only had to say, ❛ It’s my last chance, remember? And I screwed up. I’m gonna be a dad. ❜ Before he walked out the door.

Of course, he didn’t go to Seattle. He’d followed Bella to Phoenix, if only to make sure she’d be safe like any big brother would. And when she was attacked in the ballet studio, he was right there beside her. He was bit first, and by the time the Cullen family came to save them from the sadistic vampire, he was too far gone to suck the venom out.

Except he didn’t wake up a vampire. As the venom coursed through his veins, it awakened a dormant part of his being- the part of a Reaper. When he woke up, he was an unheard of hybrid- half Reaper, half Vampire, and twice as terrifying as either creature.

Real Blood Vs Twilight - Which Has the Even bigger Chunk?

Two of the most important and most expected paromantasy collection are earning (or have built) their debut this thirty day period. Accurate Blood hit the compact display on June thirteenth with its time 3 premiere, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits the big display screen on June 30th. My dilemma to you is: Which is the ultimate vamp saga: True Blood or Eclipse? The fight of the Twilighters and True Blooders has been raging on, both with massive followings. This isn't going to imply that the Twilighters are not admirers of True Blood, or vice-verse - it is just the debate of which one is the better of the two sequence, the two in literature and on-display. Twilighters are fierce in their assist, as noticed by Twilight's complete take in excess of at the MTV Movie Awards this earlier Sunday. Accurate Blood is not slacking in the awards arena, with the two an Emmy and a Golden Globe less than its belt. It is also obvious that neither phenomenon is likely wherever. Let us consider a appear: Bella vs. Sookie Sookie can be ditzy and downright aggravating at periods, but she will not choose crap from anybody (or everything!). When Jacob preferred to ditch her, Bella virtually went insane all over again - she begged him not to depart her. Not neat! Like I explained ahead of, Bella and Sookie are entire opposites. Bella's energy: The vamps can't read her brain. Winner is: Sookie Primary Adult males Do you like a vamp that sparkles or is entirely useless in the sunlight?
