Your bat is the Eastern Tube-Nosed Bat (Nyctimene robinsoni)!

She literally has neon green eyeliner. How cool is that. This bat also has, as its name suggests, tubular nostrils extending from the face, which allows it to eat juicy fruit without getting the juice up their nostrils. I can remember some times as a small child that this adaptation would have been handy to have. It is also believed that the tube nostrils allow them to smell fruit better through a process called stereo olfaction. This bat whistles to communicate with others, and its green spots allow it to look more like a leaf when it hangs from a tree.

14. What books do you want to finish before the year is over?

I've actually got three on the go rn that I want to get done before the month is over... I have Orbital by Samantha Harvey on loan from the library and it needs to be back in a week so that has to get done. I've also got The Unrelenting Earth by Kritika H. Rao started but temporarily paused while I deal with the library loan. And in the background I've got World Mythology in Bite-Sized Chunks by Mark Daniels for research that I really need to get finished!

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

Gosh, yes! I got My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh on a whim but I was immediately hooked! I annihilated that in a couple of days. Plus, for my secret santa last year I was gifted The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North, which definitely wasn't something I would usually pick but I was so in love with it that I've been lending it out to everyone!

Hi there, my friend! Thanks for the ask! Unfortunately, my answers are a bit sad. I didn't intend that, I swear. 🤪

1. what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?

My dad passing away when I was a teenager, my low back injury in college, and my mom passing away 10 years ago. I think parents passing away is fairly obvious reasoning. My back injury totally changed my life. I've always wondered what my life would have been if I'd been healthy, capable of sitting, walking, everything like a regular person. It affects everything in my life, from work to friends to dating, because I can't sit for extended periods, or walk for extended periods. It's not the most terrible thing in the world and I'm grateful it's not worse, but still.... life was limited by what I could do.

7. What scares you the most and why?

Death. I'm agnostic and don't really believe in any kind of afterlife. So the idea of just stopping to exist is terrifying.

11. What do you consider to be a romance?

When people have similar life goals, their personalities complement each other, and they share respect. I adore them in fiction, but have very limited experience in real life. 🤣 There is little intersection between the subsets of men I find attractive and men who have been attracted to me. I'm not self aware enough to figure out why.

I love fandom merch but I dont really like the obvious fandom merch (cos I'm not really a statement person as it is, not because I think it's bad) so for ages I have been wanting something lowkey Stargate related. So when I found @stargatelov3r's ko-fi selling these stargate themed bracelets I thought they were sooo cute and absolutely had to get one

There were lots of colours to choose from but i ended up going with the purple. I just think it's such a nice subtle piece of stargate appreciation and it makes me well happy to see it throughout the day.
