Star Fox- James McCloud adopted Falco Lombardi and he is Fox McCloud's Brother(Revamped post)
So I made a similar post 2 years ago, figured it was now time for an update and perhaps a little deeper dive into this little headcanon of mine!
Which is of course Falco Lombardi and Fox McCloud being brothers! I ain't talking about like brothers in arms(though they are that too), but I'm talking about they really see eachother as family, moreso than the rest of the team!
Now before James disappeared, Fox was at the Academy and who was there with him? Well none other than Falco himself, who he was bunked with at the time!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Now granted the Nintendo Power comic isn't exactly 100% accurate with regards to Star Fox, however in this regard? I don't see the need to question Fox, Falco and Slippy being in the Cornerian Flight Academy together since we never really dive into their past all that much to begin with.
So in this information, it's not completely dismissive and considering how the Star Fox Team operates, it's more than likely they were all at the Academy anyway otherwise I don't think they would function nearly as well in terms of working as a team.
With all that in mind, it's not much of a stretch that James McCloud met Falco and Slippy, with the former he noticed the strong bond/rivalry that they had together and noticing that Falco needed more of a Father figure in his life. So I'm going with that Fox and James both saved Falco from a rather....hard life, helping him become the person that he becomes later and thus James adopted Falco as his sort of second son!
But moving on here, after the Lylat Wars(Star Fox 64) we know that Falco heads off on his own...however here's something else, despite leaving the team....he still keeps in contact with Fox.
Tumblr media
Now this says a lot in Falco's relationship with Fox, he completely has left the team at this point, going to do his own thing. Yet he still keeps in touch with Fox and only Fox.
And who is the one who comes saves Fox at the end of Adventures in helping fighting Andross? None other than Falco himself!
Then we get into Assault, we have at least 3 moments which gives some insight to their close relationship.
1st instance is with Fox getting ambushed at the Cornerian Army Base on Katina by the Aparoids and who is the first to comment about dropping in on foot to assist Fox? That's right, Falco!
Tumblr media
To note, Falco and the others were already in the air covering Fox from above. Yet Falco still decided to bring up in coming on foot to assist Fox should he have needed it.
Next instance is at the Climate Control Center on Fichina, Fox gets trapped within the center on a lockdown by Pigma. Who's the one that's really concerned and who jumps in their Arwing first to save Fox? That's right, Falco!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Falco's the 1st one in at the sign of trouble to save Fox's life, multiple times in fact! To hell with anything else that might cause issues, he's going to save Fox.
But going further down the Aparoids time to the next instance, we get to Corneria where Fox states to Falco this....
Tumblr media
If he should get killed by the Aparoids on Corneria(who were invading the planet at the time), that Falco is the one to basically take command of Star Fox and save Corneria.
Now as Star Fox fans know, Falco has been deemed 2nd in command of Star Fox since basically the beginning, Star Fox 64 even notes this in the strategy guide as Falco being Fox's 2nd in command.
I find this very, very critical to their relationship. Fox trusts Falco enough to the point that should anything happen to him, he's the one to take command of the team. This mind you is his Father's legacy, the thing that he built.
Now all of this to me shows that Fox and Falco have a bond that goes way passed being just comrades in a mercenary outfit. The interesting thing is, we never really get much insight to relationships other than these 2 as far as depth goes. Apart from Fox and Krystal of course, but that's a whole separate thing involving romance.
But I feel this is getting too long winded here, these are just my crazy thoughts in that Fox and Falco are brothers and James adopted Falco, but didn't get the chance to ever tell him. Though it shows throughout the games, just how close Falco and Fox are!

Tomorrow is the anniversary of Starfox Assault, which forever altered the trajectory of my life! Although I actually beat it two weeks before release date because Nintendo had a deal going on with Blockbuster and other rental chains where they could rent it out early for some reason.
Anyway, it got me thinking about old Starfox fandom. Namely, how there was a point in the 90's where people would argue about whether or not Fox romantically paired best with Fara, a character from the Nintendo Power comics, or Katt from Starfox 64.
Most importantly, this was before Krystal showed up. And let me tell you, when she showed up in Adventures back in 2002 she was controversial among the fandom to the point where the fandom split. People who hated Krystal ended up going deep into anti-furry territory, upset that the furries have taken over Starfox.
Fast forward to today, I think Krystal is responsible for a lot of my trans friends discovering their gender. Also Fox is in a polycule with Wolf, Falco, and Krystal.

Prompt number 2 for OCtober is first OC! I decided to do my first non-self-insert character who actually had more than a half baked story to go with them haha
This is Fabian, my old starfox oc! I made her when I was... probably 10 or so? She's a jackal and Farah Phoenix's cousin, because I was obsessed with the starfox comic that ran in that Nintendo Power magazine in the 90s. She's an ace pilot and a mercenary, and her mouth writes a lot of checks she has to fistfight her way out of. Beneath the sleaze there is definitely a heart of gold. Ill-gotten gold, but gold nonetheless.

MONDO GOREGASM!
In 2008 with a move out of character for the normally child friendly Nintendo, The Wii would port over conversions of Akinori Nishiyama's classic zombie first person shooter 'House Of The Dead 2&3'.
Given that The Big N has made it's fortune on being the all-ages home console of choice with franchises such as 'Super Smash Bros', 'The Legend Of Zelda', 'Starfox', 'Metroid Prime' much missed space racer 'F-Zero' and of course, Mario in all of his forms, 'House Of The Dead 2&3' was a strange fit to start with since the game sees you going from location to location armed with ever increasingly powerful guns with the object being to get to A to B whilst shooting Zombies and Monsters in creative ways, bonuses given for headshots and blowing away a creature's legs before pulverizing their prone form with a zero range shotgun.
So when 'House Of The Dead:Overkill' was offered up in 2009, eyebrows were raised significantly. 'Overkill' was a departure from the previous game's look and story. Previously the narrative was 'We are cops. We must get to this place before BAD SCIENCE HAPPENS. These zombies are in our way. The BAD SCIENTIST IS YOUR DAD?'
'Overkill' had obviously been given the Grindhouse DVD for Christmas. The linear storytelling was dropped for multiple perspectives from chapter to chapter. The cheesy on a Resident Evil 2 level voice acting was ditched by bringing in actors doing their best Bruce Campbell, Samuel L. Jackson or Brinke Stevens impression. 'Overkill' replaced with the vague sci-fi setting for a moody B-Movie aesthetic, dripping in blood, profanity and sleaze.
The generic street levels of previous games are now a catalogue of homage via a shopping mall, a well featuring a boss familiar to fans of Japanese horror, a strip club, a circus straight out of Rob Zombie's dreams, a train finishing with a giant ...thing. With Claws. Big ones.
One is encouraged to scope out the background as you progress through 'Overkill's world. Plenty of unlockables are there to be shot and collected. The obvious inclusions of more ammo are there, as well as songs from the soundtrack, slow mo mode, and even concept pages from the tie-in comic.
Yup.
As if Overkill weren't already drenched in enough blood and boobs to run a burlesque night in Manchester, it also contained a tie-in prequel comic about the activities of titular heroine Varla Guns. It's very Sin City by way of David Lapham and contains a...healthy amount of strip club excitement. Our kind of thing certainly, but hardly on brand for a Nintendo game. Just to compound the whole malarkey, the Wii version was the only way to get a physical copy of the comic, with later PS3 and Xbox 360 editions offering 3-D glasses as pre-order incentives.
The hard copy of 'A Prelude To An Overkill' as created by Lee Basford, Jonathan Costello, Jonathan Burroughs and Artist Steve Bak was packed in the Wii edition while digital editions are avaliable via Amazon. Or, of course, you could unlock it in game via shooting the icons in the background, but good luck with all that!
See you in The Funnypages!

//Okay, I am going to come forward and nip it in the bud right now:
Tumblr media
Regarding making your own Peppy blog, using my art, and blocking folks:
If you want to make a Peppy Hare blog, that’s fine. Go right on ahead. I’ve been busy lately and other StarFox/Nintendo/wtfever RP blogs could appreciate having Space Rabbit Dad in their lives who isn’t a deadbeat like me. Plus I appreciate other interpretations of Peppy short of being yet another shallow senile meme quoter.
If you want to ship Peppy with anyone who isn’t Vivian, that is a-okay with me, and you want to make a blog based on this shipping, that’s fine too. This is especially true because I interpret Peppy as heterosexual biromantic, which means James x Peppy wouldn’t happen in my blog, and I’m generally not fond of shipping, so if you want another Peppy to fulfill your daddy kinks or pair him with anyone under the sun (and then some), then by all means, you have my blessing.
If you want to use Peppy images as icons for your threads, you can use some of mine--some. A good chunk of my icons are either screencaps from “The Battle Begins”, the 1993 Nintendo Power comic, the German comic, and other official Nintendo comic art. Those are fine for you to use. The only icons or artwork I do not give permission to use, with exceptions, is with my own artwork, made by my own hand, through my own blood, sweat, and tears. But bear in mind I said with exceptions. I give special permissions to individuals I trust, but that doesn’t mean you can mosey up to me, declare me your friend, and expect hand-outs within the next five minutes. In fact, if you try that with me, I will trust you even less.
With that said, if you want to use my art, you can commission me to make icons for you, of any character, be it canon or OC, as many as you can afford and in any expression you like. With that said, if you want to use artwork I’ve made for someone else, be it gift art or a commission, you ask THAT person’s permission to use it, not mine.
Lastly, if we are talking on Discord or through any other medium and I’m not saying anything for days and days at end, it’s not because I hate you and I am ignoring you on purpose. I am a 30+ aged adult with a busy life, which includes a job, a boyfriend, and a family. I am also an introvert who, no matter what social circle I’m in, even in ones I’m actually day-to-day active in, tends to be quiet and not start up any conversation of any kind unless I actually have something to say. Even in chatrooms where I’m in some moderation or DMing position I don’t talk much. I’m just not a chatty person.
So there you have it. Worth noting that I almost never block or ignore anyone unless they give me a legitimate reason to, and wanting to say “hi” everyday is not it. But if you feel the need to stir up drama involving me, especially among my friends, please stop.

If you haven't watched A Fox In Space, I highly recommend that you do! It's an independently animated series that reimagines Starfox with the energy of a 2000s Adult Swim cartoon.
Watching it sort of reminds me of old Starfox fandom in the 90s. Especially the shipping wars. Nowadays everyone ships Fox with either Wolf or Krystal but in the 90s, the two main ships were Fox with Fara Phoenix, a character from one of the Starfox Nintendo Power comics, and the other with Kat Monroe. Funny how things change.

Shotaro Ishinomori’s A Link To The Past: The Graphic Novel
Only few things are worse than people that browse stuff in a library and put books on the shelves with the pages showing instead of its spine, covering the titles for others! This way, a lot of gems pass under unsuspecting eyes, remaining unnoticed. My boyfriend has the habit of tidying up such misplacements whenever we visit a bookstore, so while checking what was new at the local library in town, he happened to find this cute lil’ comic in his hands; needless to say I snatched it up as soon as the golden print of its title encountered my gaze :V
I wasn’t aware these collections were being published in Italy! Then again, it’s a very recent publication and it may not have gotten the advertising it deserves. Also, I think the J-Pop publisher is italian based only... This graphic novel adaptation of A Link To The Past, done by Shotaro Ishinomori (who worked on Kamen Rider comic renditions as well!), was originally split in episodes and published on the Nintendo Power magazine in the year 1992! The issues from 32 to 43 had the 12 chapters which are alltogether in this collection. And look, it has the official Nintendo logo as well! <3
Artistically speaking, A Link To The Past is absolutely gorgeous: completely drawn with traditional media (ranging from watercolours to inks and acrylics, as far as I can tell), Ishinomori’s talent is especially expressed in splash pages, in which the brush strokes are especially visible. Not to mention the variety of expressions Link and the many other characters show! It’s a small comic, nearly the same size as a standard Marvel, but its 200 pages are asbeautiful as ever and definitely worth the price, which afterall is rather standard for graphic novels.
I do hope that J-Pop will also publish other Nintendo Power original series, especially the StarFox one!

Star Fox Adventures-Reimagined
So after doing a bit of thinking, I’ve kinda come up with an idea to make Adventures better and put a Starfox game on the Switch, all at the same time.
~~~~~~~~~~
Star Fox Adventures-Reimagined
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Same game as before, but with a few major differences— —Krystal— -Gets injured after loosing her staff, but before getting captured. -Gets rescued by Fox after he gets one Krazoa spirit, thus setting her free for the remainder of the game and making her useful later. -Can communicate with Fox through staff during the game (not well when captured, but after rescue she can talk much better) -After rescue, is taken to Great Fox for recovery, comes back after 4th Krazoa spirit is returned to temple. -Can be used to help solve puzzles by switching from her to Fox and vice versa, making them easier to complete. -Helps in fight against General Scales and Andross at the end. -Can use staff better than Fox (more agile, more devastating combos, staff can give her a “radar” of sorts, allowing her to see through walls and all around) —Fox— -Rescues Krystal after he gets the second Krazoa spirit (Krystal got the first, he has second total) -After rescuing Krystal, can tap her for info regarding things in world (glyphs, buildings, NPC’s, items, ect) —General Gameplay and World— -Biomes are larger, more involved, more space and characters in various areas -Puzzles for Krazoa spirit chambers require power stones to activate, and Krazoa spirit tests need stones to start (3 for each, but no more than 5, and can be found all over world by defeating bosses, doing quests, and the like) -Completing quests/defeating enemies and bosses grants scarabs, items, and stones for tests and puzzles. -Flying between areas starts with launch sequence of Arwing, but you can actually fly to the areas, as opposed to what happened in SF:A where you only flew for a while. You can actually use this to go to different areas on your own. The only times you don’t control the Arwing are when you launch and when you land. You do need to get to the landing areas on your own, but a landing animation plays for you. In addition, there are more enemies, obstacles, and supply drops, as well as the option to return to the Great Fox for things like fuel and repairs (Arwing can sustain damage in flight) -Krystal’s ship can be used during final fight with Andross. It will mostly give supplies, but has a couple lasers for shooting. Krystal will shoot where you point out (possible use of Switch touchscreen, maybe?) -As a throwback to the Star Fox comics, Andross has cloned himself twice, so this may up the difficulty by making Fox and Krystal have to fight on seperate fronts. -Possible stealth missions, maybe in different areas or even in side missions.
~~~~~~~~~~
So, what do you think? Let me know, should we send this to Nintendo, or am I just a stupid fan of sorts?
