"We are the ones who guard the power. We are the middle, the beginning, and the end." - The Daughter, from the mural (Star Wars Rebels)
I've watched the season finale of Ahsoka three times now (1st was by myself, 2nd time was with my son, and the 3rd time was with my Mum). A certain scene near the end of the episode - after a realization of what it was - made me think back to two certain special episodes: one from The Clone Wars and one from Rebels. This idea came to me on Sunday (October 8) night, so I quickly sketched out The Daughter and Morai, then coloured it in on October 9 (Monday). I always found the "Mortis gods" or "The Ones" rather interesting. I've always liked characters that have a small or short appearance, yet their character is important. The Daughter is so tall in her human form: 2.13 meters (or 6'9")!
I hope everybody likes this. Please let me know if you do Star Wars fan art (or anything sci-fi or from Dragon Age or Naruto). I'd love to see your work! Thank you to everybody who supports my art. You truly mean a lot to me. It is what keeps me going as an artist.
This was drawn with my usual mediums: Sakura Pigma Micron pens, then coloured in with a mix of Copic Markers and Ohuhu Markers. The background is acrylic paint on black posterboard. I actually cut out The Daughter & Morai from the paper I drew them on, then glued it to the painted posterboard. An interesting way to do mixed mediums, yes? The gold paint is actually metallic & shiny in real life, but sadly scanners kill colours and metallics. (Well darn, scanners sometimes kills the line art.) The actual art piece is 11.25" x 14".
I have another Ahsoka series fan art that I created last week. I will share it next week. I had posted it on my Instagram, but Insta is horrible to so many artists (especially if you do traditional art), because the Algorithim of Doom buries your work so deep that nobody sees it. My art basically fails on Insta. So I believe that from now on, I'll only submit my artwork here on Tumblr.

| The Mortis Theory - Father, Daughter, Son reborn AU |
Tumblr media
Okay so! I think that we’re all familiar with the planet Mortis in Star Wars and the personifications of the Force that reside there. The Father, The Daughter and The Son.
In the episode of clone wars, Anakin was basically confirmed as the Father figure. The one to neither be the light or the dark, but the one to keep the balance.
Then we had the Daughter. The personification of the light side. And the Son. The personification of the dark side.
And that’s where all of this truly starts.
Just keep in mind that this is all my interpretation and blah blah. We cool? Great! Soooooooo!
As I said. We have the Father, the Daughter and the Son. And since Anakin is the Father not only in the title of the personification, but also he is Luke and Leia’s biological father.
You see where I’m going with this?
Father, Daughter, Son.
Anakin, Leia, Luke.
Coincidence 🔍?!
I think not!
But. There is something that doesn’t quite fit (at least for me) in this equation.
The original Daughter was shown to be very dedicated to her father and brother despite both of them being flawed. She was good, kind and regal.
While the original Son was wronged by his father, and harboured deep resentment towards him. All while still loving and cherishing his sister. He was hotheaded, arrogant but quite clever.
Now, after this little description let’s try again.
The original Father (balance), Daughter (light), Son (dark).
Anakin, Luke, Leia.
The reborn Father (balance), Son (light), Daughter (dark).
Now, I don’t see Leia going full on crazy or something. But I do think that she’s a good fit for the personification of the dark side. Leia would bring out the more levelheaded and controlled version of the personification. (Kinda like Dooku? He always appeared to be very regal, confident and controlled). In my head it just fits. I see Leia as just this force to be reckoned with, someone who you wouldn’t want to cross.
And then there’s the whole thing between her and Anakin. She never forgave him and harbours deep resentment towards him and his actions as Vader (which she is fully entitled to). So I just think that it would be interesting to explore this, as some sort of fate that the embodiment of the dark side would always be at odds with the balance in some way. Much like it was between the original Son and the Father. Now it’s Leia and Anakin.
It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
Did I just quote George Lucas? Yes. Yes, I did.
Moving on to Luke. Now with him, I don’t think that any of you need an explanation why I would choose him for the personification of the light.
Luke Skywalker is just the purest of the bunch. He’s good, loyal and incorruptible. (Before you mention the sequels, please allow me to have my golden boy. I liked the Last Jedi, but allow me to separate my Luke from the old man Luke. Thank you.).
He forgave Anakin and brought him out of the depths of the dark side. This boy is just as light as it gets. And sure he still has some bad qualities, but just because someone is flawed doesn’t mean that they cannot be good.
Light doesn’t mean that something is only good and hopeful, it can also be not perfect.
Dark also doesn’t necessarily mean cruelty, but can also mean deep devotion and protection.
Balance isn’t just bland neutrality, it’s a careful dance in between the light in the dark. Caring while also hating.
It all depends on perspective.
Anyways, thanks for reading my less than perfect… essay? Nah, wouldn’t call it that. Just my opinion, my idea or just simply my perspective.
So I’m doing a little drawing based on this, featuring Anakin as the Father, Leia as the Daughter and Luke as the Son (based on this post of course).
I don’t know when I will post it cause I’m having some problems designing them and also I have no idea if I want them to be a 3 separate pieces or just one with the 3 of them in it. I guess we’ll see.
So again, thanks for reading and please be kind in any reblogs and or comments.
Oh and English isn’t my first language, so y’know.
Anyways, have a wonderful day and may the force be with you all 💗

INKTOBER DAY #6 GOLDEN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When considering what to draw for the 6th day, I decided for something involving the mortis sister because she radiates a luminous and golden aura. So that’s what I did for about an hour ;))

Note
if anakin didnt fall to the darkside, he would be that dad embrassing his kids and teliing embrassing stories about their childhood to Din and Han if he ever ends up accepting him
which is even more fun when u remember the skywalkers are the three most powerful force users in the galaxy

the second i saw the temple mural in rebels i knew i had to do this
[Image ID: A mural-style drawing of Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka styled after the mural of the Mortis gods seen in Rebels. Ahsoka is on the right in her white robe and carrying her scepter, a morai perched on her shoulder. Obi wan is in the middle in his Jedi robes, one hand raised. The Jedi Order symbol is behind his head. Anakin stands on the right, with one half of his face obscured by his Darth Vader mask. His hand is clenched into a fist.]
Version without noise (along with me ranting about couple details I'm way too proud of) under the cut:
Tumblr media
The beams of light are emanating from the Jedi Order symbol for Obi-Wan, but for Anakin and Ahsoka they are centred on Obi-Wan's heart
The beams emanating from Obi-Wan all reach the edge of the canvas, but for Anakin and Ahsoka some are incomplete
The colours circling their hands are indicative of their lightsaber colours
The light circling Anakin's hand is tinged blue in Obi-Wan's direction
The light circling Ahsoka's hand is primarily white, but tinged in green, and tinged blue in Anakin's direction

So I recently saw a post with a screencap of this scene in it:
Tumblr media
And good heavens. Is this not a perfect visual metaphor of Obi-Wan's role in the entire Star Wars universe? Supporting the wounded Light, unable to stop her from dying, but still steadfastly good and patient up to and through the darkest hour, waiting (though he doesn't know it, yet) for that Light to be reborn in a padawan?
