Aoko's line in My Room for Alice says that Yumina "died as thoroughly as is possible, leaving no trace behind. But through that, she reached a state that's practically unkillable." What's your theory for what this means?
Aoko's line did a lot more to confirm ancient theories than to build new ones. One of the monikers of Dead Apostle Ancestor 11 Stanrobe Calhin is "Wraith of the First". And the Character Material 3 entry on First Magic says "The user of First Magic is already departed but it's widely known that the individual serving as her direct successor is still alive against all odds". Due to those two points, the idea that Calhin is Yumina's ghost has been a very popular theory since the time I was first reading about the DAA (can't remember what year that was).
Other things we know about Calhin for sure is that they're an invincible enemy who already perished but their hatred remained as a vortex of power that destroys everything and it'll take 200 more years until their presence density reaches 0.
Now we look back at Aoko's line. They said there are 5 magicians, but to be more accurate, 4 are alive and 5 remain. Ok, nothing new on this part, but it's good to notice that Calhin is also described as remaining instead of living. Next. Yumina is super dead, so dead that no trace of her is left, but dying made her practically unkillable. This part touches every Calhin flag there is touch. I was on the side who found the Calhin theory sorta farfetched, but now I think it's practically confirmed.
But since the original theory predates Mahoyo, it went through a lot of versions.
Pre-Mahoyo: Calhin is the First's ghost, therefore their successor "still alive against all odds" because they're somehow a ghost and a vampire.
Mahoyo release (2012): The First's successor could be Alice, who is certainly more alive than the ghost. "Still alive against all odds" because witches are allergic to post-industrial society.
Avalon le Fae (2021): Yumina's direct successor is confirmed to be Alice, no additional details on what challenges her continued survival.
Kumano event (2024, original idea, posted about here first): Alice is still alive against all odds because she'd have been expected to have already turned into Yumina by the early 2000s.
Another brand-new idea is that Gazamy's freak trait accelerates Yumina's takeover, which is why Alice seems to blame herself for the state of adult Soujuurou's right hand. NP line says it takes a wraith to take a wraith, so that could be referring to the Wraith of the First.

Calhin's mini-profile calls them a Stantia, while giving the definition that a Stantia is a "ghost of the First". The First here could be many things, but the first thought to come to mind to most TM fans is First Magic. For the longest time, the prevalent theory was that Calhin was Yumina's ghost. Of course, knowing what we know now, I think it's more likely that Stantias are ghosts of witchs in general and Calhin is the ghost of some famous witch from hystory. Perhaps one of the witchs from Orlando Furioso or Orlando Innamorato.
Who is Yumina?
The First Magician. Mahoyo's Kuonji Alice's ancestor. All we know is that:
She's a witch.
She was born in the same day as Jesus.
Her direct successors are called Meinster.
She used the same magecraft Alice uses in Mahoyo.
She founded the Clock Tower's Botany Department when she was on her 500s.
She's the only mage Barthomeloi Lorelei respects.
Any mage worth their salt knows who Yumina is.
Those are only the concrete facts of course. With we want to get into speculation territory, it's very likely she's the one created the world's current ether, and mildly likely Calhin is her ghost.

There's no given reason why the Holy Church decided to list the former mages Fabro Rowain and Zepia Eltnam Oberon under the names "Nrvnqsr Chaos" and "TATARI/Night of Wallachia" when making the Dead Apostle Ancestor list, so we have to assume it's just a thing they do just because.
