I have so many thoughts over the agggtm series that I can't articulate them the way I want to.
Where were my Pip and Ravi moments??
What is happening with Nat's character??
Where was the interaction with Stanley Forbes?
Barney's death was an accident!
That girl in his attic was just as convinced that she was Andie Bell as he was supposed to be.
Probably not imprtant, but I keep wondering why Ant isn't apart of Pip's friend group like he was in the books.

Fun fact: Stanley Forbes explicitly stated, “It’s OK, Pip. This was always going to happen. I deserve it.”
Let that sink in. Stanley believed he deserved his death. He thought he was so rotten because of what his father made him do that he thought he earned the right to die early.
Did you realize that Stanley never ever tried to fight off Charlie?
Did you realize that Stanley only tried to resist when Pippa stood in front of him?
Did you realize that Stanley never even tried to fight to survive?
Did you realize that Stanley thought that it was fair that he died?

Can we just talk abt the scene in ggbb where ravi saw pip covered in stanleys blood and ran over to her.
Like im imagining him squeezing through the crowd after he saw the fire, and when he wasn’t able to find pip imagine how panicked he probs felt bc he probs thought smth happened to her. And then imagine the relief he felt when he saw she was alive but then the relief being washed over with panic again when he saw the blood on pip, stanley’s body, the grass covered in blood, and how terrified pip looked.

Good Girl Bad Blood made me sob.
Like
Jamie going missing
Nat's trauma
Max running free.
Ant and Laurens falling out from the group.
Stanley Forbes. Idc what anyone says he didn't deserve it and I will die on that hill. He was a child for god's sake. His father was the murderer not him.

It was so difficult to read the last few pages of good girl bad blood, the words were blurring together, not because I was tired, but because I was crying. Because of the scene where Pip is begging and screaming for him to not shoot Stanley. The scene where she keeps begging Stanley to hang on as she carries him out of the actively burning building. The scene where Stanley says he deserves it all because of what his father forced him to do as a child. The scene where Ravi has to be held back by the police because all he sees is Pippa covered in blood and thinks the worst. The scene where Jamie says he doesn't hate Stanley. The ending where Pippa says all she can hear is the gunshots. While the book was good, it was the ending that made it great.

so i lowkey gave up on the agggtm adaptation after finishing episode 3 of the series. i was at the very middle of the show, and so disappointed by all the unnecessary changes they'd made from the books, and the snowball pacing was doing nothing to engage me whatsoever, in fact it was one more reason that i turned away from it. the only thing redeeming i think i found was the dynamics of pip's friend group. it was fun whenever they were all on screen together.
i heard someone online talk about pip and ravi's chemistry together being another redeeming point, and i thought about adding that as well, but looking back it was only okay, nothing out of the world. the fact that they were spending a lot of time alone together probably helped this person believe that their chemistry was excellent, when it was only fine. the actors tried their best, of course, but they are also very young and i personally think they were having a hard time conveying the kind of under the surface tension i would've loved to see.
lastly, i also heard someone online say that stanley forbes just never showed up. that was probably the most crushing thing i heard in the time after episode 3 and about to go on to episode 4, eventually stopping me from continuing because stanley is my man yo. you can't do me like this. you can't literally handpick one of the most memorable and important characters from the books and just kick them to them to the curb. even if stanley does end up hopefully inevitably in season 2, which i don't know yet if there will be one, it seems very sucky to me that he wasn't there at all this season, when the show is just taking off.
now although i have more to say from the first three episodes i saw of a good girl's guide to murder, i will refrain from doing that because incorporating all those things into this post will take a lot of time and make it so much longer. also, i'm waiting on the premiere of the umbrella academy season 4, if that wasn't already crystal clear enough from my last post, and will be pouncing on it the moment it's available, so i can't scar this beautiful waiting time by writing down and explaining the flaws of a show i didn't like, in length.
that'll be all. i do think i will complete watching a good girl's guide to murder someday, most probably if there's a season two later on, because then i'll need to know the show's altered version of what happened before. if there never comes a season 2 after all, then it's really in the hands of fate if i finish agggtm or not.
i will probably end up doing it though, like five years down the line. i can't handle unfinished shows, or anything else. see y'all.

I fucking love the agggtm tv show but where is Stanley?!!!!
He’s legit so important to book/season 2 and we never get a mention???? In episode one or two (can’t remember now) Pip calls Daniel Stan but then later on she calls Daniel da Silva so like why did she call him Stan earlier on???
Also, without Stanley and his newspaper, how did Becca get Pip’s phone number? In the book, she gets it because she works for Stanley and Pippa went to interview/question him?

Hot take but just because Stanley Forbes had a traumatic childhood, it doesn't excuse his racism.

Some agggtm headcanons after ggbb
•pip hates loud noises and things like bonfires ever since what happened with Charlie it always takes her back to those heartbreaking moments
•ravi refuses to ever take sleeping pills since Sal a lot like his dad did
•I’m pretty sure this is canon but pip doesn’t take tea from people when they offer after what becca did
•Nat da silva ends up becoming quite close with pip her friends and her family after the max hastings thing (this is canon)
•not a headcanon but FUCK MAX HASTINGS HIS PARENTS AND ALL HIS SHITHEAD LAWYERS
•Ant keeps telling the school to expell pip and never apologises for what he said even when it’s proven to be bs and that Jamie was missing and he was being an insensitive prick
• Daniel da silva couldn’t keep hating pip as much as he did after he saw her in the state she was after Stanley died and he feels like it’s partially his fault because pip did say someone would end up dead and he didn’t listen then someone wound up dead
(Some of these might not be accurate but I haven’t read agad yet so keep that in mind)

JOMP BPC: Gut-Wrenching Death
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't usually talk about how much this ruined me but Stanley Forbes' death in "Good Girl, Bad Blood" hit me like a punch in the gut. I couldn't believe it when I read about what happened to him. It was so brutal and shocking, it felt like I was living in slow-motion. Stanley seemed like just an annoying yet ordinary guy, but his murder turned everything upside down. The way his death was described was so vivid and emotional, that it has stayed with me long after I finished the book. It's one of those moments that really sticks with you and makes you feel the weight of the story.
As much as it killed me, I loved it.
