✦ my first bias: belle her vocals literally make me feel like i could die happy. also she's so competent (i love competency) & just so unintentionally funny sometimes and always slays so yes i love her so much

✦ my current bias(es): ot4 😭 i feel like sayinh anything else is a CRIME, imo they're the best when they're together and vibing bc the way they all just hang out and have fun together reminds me a lot of my own friend group 🥹

✦ my album and/or era ranking (or favorite of each): they're newer so not too many eras to choose from & also all of them are SLAYS SO here's the best from each for me - kiss of life (debut album): I'm weak for belle's countdown (prechorus SLAYSSS) & shh is surprisingly addictive / born to be xx: all of it. amazing. says it is really beaitufl and calm, but bad news always gets me hyped!! / midas touch: it's a single album so only two songs BUT THEY GO SO HARD!!!

✦ how i got into them: this is a really weird story that I'm just gonna tell bc I can and I will -- I saw Jii (cover artist on Youtube) uploaded a short of her Chinese cover of Midas Touch & Jordan Orme (also a youtuber) analyzed the music video… but tbh I was annoyed to see it everywhere RIP LOL and then eventually watched Jii’s short and was like “wait this is actually so banger” so I watched the Midas Touch MV then watched Jordan Orme dissect it .. then idk how but eventually I just went on a KIOF listening spree, listened to all their discography and the rest is history >3< I will say I feel like the moment I was like "yeah i love them to death" is when I watched their midas touch part switch dance; i feel like it really showed off their fun energy and made them feel very real, in a way.

✦ which member would be my best friend: oh help i actually don't know since i don't know TOO TOO much abt each of their personalities - maybe natty?? maybe i'm biased bc i have a best friend whose name is pretty similar to hers 😂

✦ something i associate with them (or with a bias/any member): shimmery metallic pink, X's, hearts, anything NEAR midas touch/greek mythology as any concept :D

It’s heartbreaking to realize that an idol group I once admired could be so insensitive and disrespectful. The idea of a hip-hop-themed party isn’t inherently wrong—it could’ve been a celebration of the genre. But mocking an entire community? An entire race? An entire culture? That crosses a line I can’t ignore.

I can’t stand by them for this. I can’t support behavior that’s so blatantly offensive and harmful. It’s so disappointing and upsetting. Also.... the lack of personal apologies from the members only makes it worse. Like, how can you sit back and post random shit when you KNOW you have hurt so many people with your actions and words?? I don't know... I used to love their music, their personalities, their style... but now, I just feel let down.

To everyone who has felt hurt or targeted because of this, please know your feelings are completely valid. You and your culture deserve so much more respect than the world often gives. It's fucking RARE for me to post anything on Tumblr because I don't like the "pushed back" from fandoms or people judging me for my dyslexia. I'm a damn introvert. All I want to say is other black kpop fans including myself are fucking tired of these groups being fucking disrespectful towards their black fans. Like, we shouldn't have to constantly remind y'all that these kpop artists DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT US!! They use us like costumes and for "cool" points to fit their aesthetic/concept. Everyone needs to start holding their fucking faves accountable for their actions. Kpop stans LOVE to ignore when their faves do some fucked up shit!! Like, I've been into kpop since 2015 and have seen some extreme SHIT!! Exactly towards fans or people in general that are POCs in the fandom. They always show their WHOLE asses when it comes down to be racist or colorist. Fans also love to disregard things that are clearly wrong and they infantilize idols when they are GROWN ASS MEN and WOMEN. We shouldn't have to teach them or contact their agencies when they fuck up in public. Hell, I think agencies should even have a big ass press conference about what they did wrong instead of worrying about damaging their image in public. They didn't care about their image before they said the N word or did cultural appropriation on multiple occasions with black accents. I fear for the Black Kpop idols and actors/actresses/models in the kpop and Korean community. Because, you know they have seen and heard some crazy shit from people in their groups/careers and agencies. Also, I age at least 500 years when I see black fans that are okay with them doing it because "it made [Blank] look or sound so hot!" "[Blank] isn't antiblack because they have black producers, backup dancers, and choreographers in the company." "Don't blame [Blank] for not understanding AAVE or they didn't understand it was blackface or being colorist."

It's so fucking cringey when people make excuses for grown ass people that should know better. They have internet access over in Asia but they choose to be racist and colorist towards our people. The kpop artists that are from the U.S. or places that speak English should definitely know fucking better. Like???? Even my own hardcore kpop groups have done problematic shit before, and I always hold them accountable, and I've even taken breaks from them before. Non POCs kpop fans LOVE to talk over OUR feelings and make it seem like we are blowing everything out of proportion. No, we are holding them accountable along with the agencies their underneath. Like I don't fuck with groups that have done cultural appropriation and blackface along with saying the N word. I'm honestly not surprised that this happened to this group! Ugh, it fucking sucks because I was getting into them. But, never fucking mind. First, the Blackpink/CL stuff and now KIOF. I started stanning them last month around Midas Touch/Sticky era.

But, it's so fucking hard being a black fan in kpop nowadays. Like, it's always fucking something going on and the non-black fans always want to put their two cents in the mix of the topic. They love silencing us and tell us that we don't know about OUR culture. They also "love" to sexualize us too over in Asia. Smh! I'm so fucking tired.
