Demystifying the EB1 to Green Card Transition
Navigating the path from an EB1 visa to obtaining a Green Card can seem complex, but with a solid understanding of the process and some strategic planning, the transition can be much smoother. This article aims to demystify the steps involved in moving from an EB1 visa to a Green Card EB1, with a focus on key considerations and best practices for successful outcomes.
What is the EB1 Visa?
The EB1 visa is an employment-based first-preference visa category for individuals with exceptional abilities, outstanding professors or researchers, and certain multinational executives or managers. It’s one of the fastest routes to permanent residency in the United States. This category has several advantages, including fewer restrictions and a shorter waiting period compared to other employment-based Green Card categories.
Types of EB1 Visas
There are three subcategories within the EB1 visa:
EB1-A For individuals with extraordinary abilities in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. Applicants must demonstrate sustained national or international acclaim through major awards, significant achievements, or published work.
EB1-B For outstanding professors and researchers. Requires at least three years of teaching or research experience and an offer from a U.S. educational institution or research facility.
EB1-C For multinational executives and managers. Applicants must have worked for a multinational company for at least one of the last three years in an executive or managerial role and plan to continue in a similar capacity in the U.S.
The Transition from EB1 to Green Card
The process of transitioning from an EB1 visa to a Green Card involves two main steps: the Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker (Form I-140) and the Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485).
Filing Form I-140: This step establishes your eligibility for the EB1 visa. Approval of Form I-140 verifies that you meet the criteria for extraordinary ability, outstanding research or teaching, or multinational executive/managerial experience. Once approved, you're eligible to move forward.
Filing Form I-485: This is the application for permanent residency or status adjustment. If you are already in the U.S., you can remain while your application is processed. If you're outside the U.S., you must go through consular processing, which includes an interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate.
Key Considerations for EB1 to Green Card Transition
The transition from EB1 to Green Card can be expedited due to the first-preference status of the EB1 visa. However, applicants should ensure their documentation is thorough and accurate. This means providing evidence of extraordinary achievements, such as notable awards, published research, or executive roles within multinational companies.
Working with an experienced immigration attorney is highly recommended. An attorney can guide you through the intricacies of the process, helping to avoid common pitfalls and ensuring compliance with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.
Conclusion
Understanding the EB1 to Green Card transition is key to a successful outcome. The process requires careful preparation and documentation. For professional guidance, visit Lawmaks.com, where you'll find expert advice and resources to help you through the EB1 to Green Card transition. Get the support you need to navigate the journey and move one step closer to achieving permanent residency.

Looks like another slip up in “tone” got someone booted from office. Maybe when you say ‘a person of Jewish origin can’t represent us!” And your friend in the party is calling the opposition “an Israeli lawyer” you should take stock about what political office means.
It’s weird to see the news about people getting fired and arrested and voted out for being antisemitic. I feel like I’ve been watching the news in horror, waiting for the tide of hate to turn. Idk if this is a momentary thing but I hope this is here to stay.

This is who I am. Nobody said you had to like it.
Born in London, England, Brooklyn Whitmore has always had a knack for getting herself into trouble. Not in the legal sense, more the academic, struggling to reign in her temper within school walls. She maintained good grades, but had a habit of getting into verbal altercations with those around her. When she was 14 years old, her father was offered a promotion at work, but the new job meant moving to the US. Her parents didn’t want to break up the family and so decided that they would all move together, but Brooklyn wasn’t happy about upending her life for some stupid job, and she made her opinions well known within the household. Despite her objections, within weeks of him accepting the job, she was in Connecticut and starting a new life. Surprisingly, Brooklyn found America was more her pace, and spent most of her school life balancing grades and parties. By 18, Brooklyn had graduated high school and started university, studying Law. It took seven long years, and multiple interventions by her parents to prevent her from dropping out, to obtain the qualifications necessary to be able to call herself a lawyer. At 25 years old, freshly graduated from law school, she landed a job with WWE. Despite the professionalism she displays at work, old habits die hard; Brooklyn is still a party girl outside of the office. A wild child, with a “rebelliousïżœïżœ streak a mile wide. Blind trust is something Brooklyn no longer offers, you’ll have to work for it, but if you can make it past the walls she’s surrounded herself with? You’ll find a sweet, caring young woman with a heart of gold.
Name: Brooklyn Whitmore
Age: 26 years old
Pronouns: She/Her
Nicknames: Brook, Lynnie
Birthday: October 31st, 1996
Birthplace: London, England
Current residence: Stamford, Connecticut
Occupation: WWE Legal Advisor
This is a sideblog, owned by @l3cky13 and @thcrnsandflcwers. All plots are open but, as always, ships are based on chemistry only. Exes, friends, enemies, etc, are welcome. If you’d like to plot with her, drop a DM on any of my accounts and we can work something out! ❀

Accepting a plea deal in connection with a May break-in at a southern Vermont home last spring, "Justice League" actor Ezra Miller will avoid jail time and was instead put on probation.
Appearing in Vermont Superior Court on Friday, "The Flash" star, who uses they/them pronouns, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful trespass, was ordered to pay a $500 fine and a court fee and was placed on probation for a year. Conditions of the deal also require the performer to continue mental health treatment, according to the Associated Press.
"Ezra Miller pled guilty this morning to a misdemeanor unlawful trespass in Vermont Superior Court and accepted the conditions imposed by the court," Miller's attorney Liza Shelkrot said in a Friday statement to The Times.
"Ezra would like to thank the court and the community for their trust and patience throughout this process, and would once again like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health," Shelkrot added.
Citing court documents detailing terms of the deal that were filed this week in Vermont Superior Court in Bennington, AP reported that the embattled performer agreed to a suspended sentence of 89 to 90 days in jail for the misdemeanor of unlawful trespass.
Two other charges were dropped, including a felony burglary charge that could have carried a sentence of 25 years in prison. Vermont Superior Court Judge Kerry Ann McDonald-Cady told Miller the felony charge could be refiled if they fail to abide by the details of probation, AP reported. Miller answered the judge's questions during the 30-minute hearing but declined to make a statement.
In October, Miller pleaded not guilty to stealing liquor from a neighbor’s home in May. The "Fantastic Beasts" star appeared in Vermont Superior Court remotely with their lawyer for the arraignment to felony burglary and petit larceny. During that hearing, Miller accepted the grounds that they cannot have contact with the homeowner from whom they allegedly stole alcohol or go to the residence at the center of their charges.
On Aug. 8, Vermont State Police published a report (that has since been deleted from its blog) detailing Miller’s alleged theft. On May 1, officials were notified of a home burglary complaint on County Road in Stamford, Vt. Police officials alleged that Miller, who also has a home in Vermont, stole alcohol from the residence “while the homeowners were not present.”
Miller, who also starred in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” said in a statement last August that having “recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.”
The statement, released to Variety through a representative, continued. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
Miller also apologized for their past behavior — a rash of volatile instances last year that culminated in two arrests in Hawaii, a protective order in North Dakota, an investigation and the initial felony burglary charge in their home state of Vermont.

Mason Mount points out the exact moment Manchester United and Chelsea transfer decision was made
Tumblr media
Mason Mount points out the exact moment Manchester United and Chelsea transfer decision was made Mason Mount has acknowledged that he realized he was no longer considered as a long-term asset for Chelsea, which influenced his decision to depart from Stamford Bridge this summer. After months of rumors, it was officially confirmed on Wednesday that the English player has joined Manchester United, marking the end of his 18-year association with Chelsea. Although Mount had less than a year left on his contract with Chelsea, he has now signed with Manchester United in a transfer that may ultimately reach a value of ÂŁ60 million. Just before the FIFA World Cup last year, there were advanced discussions between Chelsea and Mason Mount regarding a contract extension. Mount, who was 24 years old at the time, was part of the English national team that participated in the tournament in Qatar. He and his representatives had engaged in talks with Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali to negotiate new terms for his contract, and it appeared that a verbal agreement had been reached. In fact, Boehly was even willing to send lawyers to Qatar to finalize and officially sign the deal. However, Mount, who was experiencing his first World Cup campaign, decided that his primary focus should be on his performance on the field, and he chose to prioritize his football commitments over contract negotiations. Upon Mount's return from the FIFA World Cup, where England was eliminated by France in the quarter-finals, the previous offer from Chelsea was no longer available. However, negotiations between Mount and the club persisted, and in February, Chelsea presented him with a one-year contract extension proposal that included a significant salary increase. Despite the enticing offer, the academy graduate declined it because he had additional concerns regarding certain aspects of the contract that needed resolution. This offer from Chelsea is believed to be their final official proposal to Mount, as reported by football.london. As the situation unfolded, the player grew increasingly frustrated with how the club handled the entire process. Liverpool initially appeared to be the leading contenders to secure Mason Mount's signing, as they had done significant groundwork before the end of the season. However, Manchester United entered the picture at a later stage, and once they expressed their interest, Mount's decision was firmly made - he desired a move to Old Trafford. Mount's wish has now been fulfilled, as he will don the prestigious No. 7 jersey for the Red Devils. In fact, he even shortened his holiday to finalize the transfer to Manchester, as he disclosed in an interview with the club's official media after completing the move. "It's been an amazing couple of days. Coming here and meeting everyone at the training ground, it's been such a warm welcome," Mount said to MUTV. "I feel very much at home already. "We had a little trip to Disneyland for the niece, really. I enjoyed it of course, but we came back a bit early to make our way up here. It was well worth it and it's great to be up here now." When asked about the timing of his decision to embark on a new chapter in his career, Mount mentioned that he had a sense a few months ago that he was no longer considered a crucial player at Stamford Bridge."Several months ago, it became clear that I wasn't in Chelsea's plans moving forward," he added. "Once I found out United were involved, my decision was made up. massive club. Some huge and iconic players have played here and I wanted to be a part of that from the beginning. Getting in early before pre-season started was a main objective of mine as well." This feeling likely played a role in his determination to explore other opportunities and seek a fresh start elsewhere. Families might opt for a collaborative approach throughout a divorce by using mediation. Without the time and expense of a regular court case, mediation can be a very efficient approach to resolving a variety of important issues. The mediation process can also help both parties communicate in a healthy way and prevent the added emotional stress that a trial might bring.

FUN IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
WF UPDATE & THOUGHTS (1/18/23).
Last night, in route to our next biking adventure, we stayed just outside of Naples, Florida. Naples brings back fond memories.
In 1992, in my 8th year as a lawyer, I was elevated to partner at a major Connecticut law firm. It was a big deal. I became the 66th partner at the firm. There were 180 other lawyers who weren’t partners. There were 300 employees who weren’t lawyers. It was a big operation.
The primary office of the firm was in Stamford, Connecticut. That’s where I worked. There were three other offices in Connecticut. There were also two offices in Florida. Over the years, many wealthy clients had retired to the Sunshine State. The firm opened the Florida offices so it could keep providing services to those clients. Those offices also attracted business from their local communities. One of the offices was in Naples, Florida.
In 1992, to celebrate the ascension of my “partnership class” of 6 new partners, the firm decided to hold a celebratory event in Naples. It was also designed to be a “retreat” for all partners. All partners were expected to attend. The spouses of partners could also attend. Mrs. Bikingpartner was at my side for the big event.
I have many memories of that visit to Naples. I’ll share two of them.
This firm was known as the stodgiest law firm in Connecticut. It was a very serious place. It was dominated by old school New Englanders. They were very conservative and generally humorless.
The celebratory dinner for the new partners was held at a country club. The firm had arranged for buses to shuttle folks from the hotel to the country club. To avoid the buses, many of the senior partners had rented cars to transport themselves. For reasons that I won’t discuss here, I had a very close relationship with several of the senior partners. I was asked to ride with two of them to the event, and I didn’t refuse.
At the time, the firm was undergoing some change. A few of the younger partners were atypically wild. I was peacefully riding to the event with two senior partners. We were on a highway. As we were moving along, we were passed by one of the buses. Several of the young partners had consumed too much alcohol on the golf course during the day, and they decided to push their naked butts up against the bus windows to “moon” passing cars. The idiots didn’t realize that some of those cars would be occupied by the senior partners of the firm. The senior partners in my car were not amused. They carefully noted the identities of the exhibitionists. I’m quite certain that this little escapade did not help the careers of those guys.
The other Naples memory that I’ll share is funnier because nobody damaged their career.
As new partners, we were expected to follow the firm’s protocols for expense reimbursement. We were supposed to put all expenses on our own credit cards and submit a “reimbursement form” at the end of every month. My “partner classmates” decided to have a little fun with that procedure. We picked one of our classmates, and for the entire time that we were in Naples we billed all of our expenses to his hotel room. The combined amount was quite hefty. Our victim didn’t realize our scam until he got back to Connecticut. His wife wasn’t happy when his credit card was frozen. I came to his rescue. I met with the firm’s CFO and arranged for an immediate reimbursement so my colleague could pay his credit card bill. We all had a good laugh.
I’m hoping that Round #2 of our biking adventure will be full of good laughs too. We’re now in Clearwater, Florida. We’re staying two blocks away from the Pinellas Trail. It’s 47 miles long. We’re going to check it out. There are other trails nearby too. We’re looking forward to more fun in the sun. Stay tuned.
