The Coastal Collection - Part Two

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Its been a labour of love during the shorter month of February, but I'm excited to finally be able to share the second instalment of the Coastal Collection! This part focuses in on the Coastal outdoors. There were so many build items that I wanted to include in part one, that I actually decided to dedicate an entire extra month to get all the items on the original list...I still didn't achieve the goal, but I came pretty close!

The highlight of the month for me was the creation of the playhouse. It took 5 days to complete from start to finish, but I was so happy with the end result and its just one of those once in a lifetime items that shall never be repeated again, so its worth putting all that effort into.

There are quite a few items that do have pack requirements this month as there are mostly activity items for you toddlers, kids and soon to be introduced infants. The Sand Pit works just like a rug and can be placed anywhere you wish. Sand can be painted on the terrain to add the functionality of a real sand pit if you own the Island Living EP or if you only have Base Game it can be a great decorative piece for story telling. The Playhouse requires Dream Home Decorator as it works just like the play tent that was introduced in that pack. Lastly the Fire Pit requires Outdoor Retreat for full functionality.

You can find the majority of the items by searching COASTAL in the BB catalogue, however these will not show the column & 2 wallpapers that are included in the set.

I always wanted to see inside the bloated house, but now I know why it wasn't ever shown- it needs reno and someone started it, but is now selling it, as is. Built in 1977 in Inman, SC, it has 3bds, 3ba, 1,908 sq ft, $550k.

The home has many levels and lots of stairs.

At the top of these stairs, they've installed some railings and new flooring.

Well, the stair treads are crooked.

They haven't even finished drywalling. Looks like there's a fireplace on the left. I like the ceiling.

Cute knotty pine half bath.

It's confusing. There are so many levels.

Door to the ground level in the back.

This looks nice, there's a stone structure that may be a fireplace.

The home is on Lake William C. Bowan and has a dock.

Spaik Erica Modular Stairs Made Recolorable

The script file for these stairs has been updated thanks to @nosferatusim and the name and description now show in catalog. Changing the file name of the stairs will cause this info to not be read by the catalog!

There has been interest in finding scripts for these modular stairs recently (the blue, rust, green, and red versions) and that made me think that I'd really like to have them be recolorable. So I decided to learn something new.

@hugelunatic has a great tutorial HERE that I slowly and carefully worked my way through and after a number of failed attempts- success! I couldn't get the name, description, and price to show in the catalog, but the stairs are there and work!

BTW, if you want to put them next to a wall as shown, you have to recolor them first, then place the wall. Otherwise, they don't recolor - even if you remove the wall.

Installation: Place in your downloads folder.   Place script text file in your Scriptorium_ModularStairs folder in your Downloads folder.    -or- Append your C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts\modularstairs.txt file with the contents of the script file included in the package.

To Use:

Place stairs normally

recolor before placing the railings

Use Recolor tool to recolor individual stairs - if having difficulty with 2nd step, go down one floor.
