The Social Media Manager: The Series (Part 3)
Another installment with a smidge of angst. Six Months Carmy is just very present in my brain...
The Bear Masterlist
Previous part Next part
Drinks?
Marcus laughed when Carmy walked into the kitchen with Sharpie covering his wrist and forearm. He’d known that Rusty thought Carmy was cute and that Carmy was stalking her on Instagram, but he didn’t think that Rusty would make the first move. Carmy walked past Marcus into the office and swiftly closed the door behind himself. Marcus shook his head and went to Syd’s station, “Yo. Hear me out, Rusty and Carmy. She’s into him, he’s into her… imma make it happen.” before Marcus could further explain his scheme on getting Rusty and Carmy together, Syd laughter cut him off.
“Marcus, you shouldn’t do anything- do you really want your best friend hooking up with Carmy? You saw how he treated Claire. Do you want that for Rusty?” she challenged Marcus, “I like Rusty, and I want to be friends with her- if she and Carmy start dating and Carmy bitches out on her, I can’t be friends with her.”
Before Marcus could respond, Syd further explained, “Marcus, do you really want your best friend to date your boss? Imagine you go over to Rusty’s place—Carmy's there. You ask her to hang out, and Carmy comes. Oh, you wanna go on a double date with her; Carmy would be there. You can’t complain to your best friend about Carmy anymore because that’s her boyfriend. What if Rusty breaks up with him? Would Carmy take it out on you? Maybe not intentionally, but we both know he would.”
Marcus sighed and crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned back against the wall, “I think he’d be good for Rusty.”
~
You groaned as you dug through her closet that night. Tonight was supposed to just be a chill night out, but you had to mess it up by inviting Carmy. You finally found the white tank top you’d been looking for. You pulled your oversized shirt off and threw it onto your bed before pulling the tank top on; you adjusted your boobs and were satisfied with the way they looked. Now you just had to find the right bottoms. Would jeans be too casual? Would a skirt be too much? Maybe shorts? You huffed in frustration and pushed through your drawers looking for the right bottoms.
After meticulously applying your makeup and ensuring your hair was neatly styled, you were satisfied with your appearance for the night. “Rusty! You ready?” you heard your friend Sara yell as she walked into your apartment. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” you laughed as you joined her in the living room.
“This Carmy guy has a chokehold on you, huh?” Sara laughed as she looked you up and down. You shrugged and grabbed your jean jacket from the back of the couch. “I don’t think he’s coming, but just in case” you explained as Sara rolled her eyes and went on a rant about how there were never cute guys at The White Rabbit. You nodded occasionally as the two of you waited for your Uber.
Your phone vibrated in your pocket to display a text from Carmy.
See you @ 11
~
Marcus looked over his shoulder to see Carmy meticulously scrubbing his station. It was almost 11 PM, and he knew that Carmy had agreed to meet Rusty at some bar. He should have left by now, so why was he still at The Bear.
“Yo Carm. Thought you were meeting up with Rusty.” Marcus said, pulling at the sides of his apron awkwardly. Carmy shook his head, “Yeah- uh, not doing that.” he said as he dragged a dry microfiber towel across the stainless steel counter he’d been scrubbing.
“Did you tell her that?” Carmy ignored the question and went into the office. Marcus huffed as his face scrunched up; he couldn’t let this douchebag hurt his best friend. “Marcus. Don’t do somethin’ stupid.” Tina warned from her station when she noticed his shoulders square up. Marcus shook his head and went into the office. Carmy sat at the desk going through papers; Marcus couldn’t help but notice his phone was next to him, lighting up with text messages from Rusty. Marcus frowned, “Are you seriously gonna ignore my best friend? She’s fuckin’ gorgeous and funny and kind and too fuckin’ good for you! Don’t treat her like how you treated Claire. Rusty isn’t the kind of girl who begs men to like her. Men beg her to like them, and for whatever reason, she likes you. I don’t care if you’re my boss- I’ll kick your fuckin’ ass.”
Carmy stared at him and ran his tongue across his top lip; he shook his head and went back to his paperwork. “Carmen. Don’t fuck this up. Y/N means everything to me.” Marcus sighed before exiting the office.

I OWN THAT SEWING MACHINE??
How did you get working?
mostly i just cleaned it out and oiled it and it worked!! the good news is these machines are fairly bulletproof, so it doesn't take a lot to get them working again
your first step should be to plug in the serial number into this website -- this will tell you exactly what model of guy you have, so you'll be able to look up instructions and check if you've got missing parts. (or if you've got the original instruction manual you can use that!)
the things you will probably need to replace are the belt (leather treadle belts have a tendency to turn brittle with age) and the needle (old needles tend to also be brittle and possibly rusty, which is Not Great for fabric). helpfully, singer model 15s use the same standard needle shape as nearly all modern sewing machines, so you can stick just about any modern needle in there. a new treadle belt, as well as replacements for any missing or damaged parts, can be had from the internet -- there are a ton of vintage sewing machine parts sellers on ebay. (you'll need to cut the new treadle belt to length and possibly rosin it; i had to tighten mine two or three times before it was driving the machine nicely.)
and then, of course, Everything Needs To Be Cleaned. you'll want a bottle of sewing machine oil, a jug of cleaning vinegar, dish soap, and an ultrasonic cleaner (incredibly handy general household tool, $25ish on amazon). also large amounts of q-tips and paper towels, and various sizes of flat-head screwdrivers. possibly also a dremel tool. (if the machine needs a surface cleaning, wipe it down GENTLY with sewing machine oil -- many harsher cleaning substances will damage the shellac or the pretty gold decals.)
stuff i took off my machine to clean:
throat plate + slidey bit next to it
hook and bobbin case, and the circular track thing the hook slides back and forth in (i don't know what this is called)
side plate and thread tension assembly
needle holder and thread guide
presser foot and its thumb screw
round plate on the back and its thumb screw (i could've gotten away without cleaning this but i wanted it to be Shiny)
(also: take pictures while you disassemble everything so you remember how it goes back together!!)
an ultrasonic cleaner bath with vinegar will remove rust (you may have to run it a few times); an ultrasonic cleaner bath with warm soapy water will remove dirt and gunk (ancient thread dust + ancient sewing machine oil = horrible black gunk). the parts WILL NOT be stainless steel, so you WILL need to dry them off after they come out of the bath; don't leave them on a wet paper towel or they'll rust again. (i made this mistake about three or four separate times and i wanted to kick my own ass every time. for parts that are hard to dry with paper towels + q-tips, you might want to use a solder reflow station or hairdryer (the poor man's solder reflow station) to dry them.) it's also good to wipe stuff down with a very light coating of sewing machine oil just for a little extra rust protection. for stuff you want to be Extra Shiny, like the throat plate, you can use the dremel tool and a wire brush or a fine grit sanding attachment and get it nice and polished :)
But Watch Out -- some of the screws may be VERY stiff and you definitely don't want to strip the heads. if a screw is just not budging, try drenching it in sewing machine oil (in such a way that the oil will run down into the threads) and waiting half an hour or so.
while all the plates and stuff are going through the ultrasonic cleaner, it's time to clean and lubricate the inside! (and the treadle. the treadle might also be stiff. pro tip: take the belt off while you're working on lubricating the treadle so you can make sure it runs smooth without the sewing machine.) there should be little holes for oil everywhere you're supposed to oil (including the underside! with the belt off the machine should fold out of the treadle table so you can access these bits), but you can oil other areas of metal-on-metal movement too if it seems like they need it. the basic control loop here is oil something -> spin the hand wheel a bit and listen carefully for squeaking or other Bad Noises -> oil something (etc.) until it's all running smooth. if there is gunk on any of the moving parts (or dead spiders. apparently spiders LOVE to go inside of model 15s and die there) apply q-tips until they're clean. or a paper towel + vinegar for bits that are rusty.
and then you put it back together and try it out!! (AND SEND ME PICTURES I WANNA SEEEEE)
#the trashcan speaks#sewing machine go brrr#also be careful not to lose any of the tiny ass bobbin case screws :/ :/ :/

Further Adventures in Dyeing
See previous installments, dying wool with Kool-Aid and dying wool with Wilton’s icing colors, for more explanations + some photos of my gross stovetop. It does not get cleaner.
[Image ID: several hanks for yarn variegated in shades of purple, teal and gray laid out on a white background. On top of them is a ball of blue-gray alpaca locks.]
I’ve actually done several more experiments with Wilton’s since my last post, but I keep running into the problem of breaking. Since many of Wilton’s colors are a mix of different food dyes, and they’re not meant for dying wool, the dyes are often absorbed quite differently by the fiber - they “strike” differently, and unevenly. Which is how I ended up with the test skeins in the above photo, from WIlton’s black, when my target color was the locks in the center. Super cool effect if you’re aiming for it, frustrating when you’re not.
Fortunately, I stumbled upon this video of a woman getting a true black using Wilton’s, and tried to replicate it myself. Allons-y!
[Image ID: a stainless steel stockpot partly full of water. A hank of white yarn is soaking in it.]
First step, as always, is to soak the test yarn and get it really wet. I’m using a big pot this time, instead of tupperware, because I want to give the yarn plenty of room to spread out - and I want to gently diffuse the dye and vinegar through the bath, so all the Red 40 doesn’t get sucked up by the first bits of fiber it hits.
[Image ID: the same stock pot as above, but the water is now a dark greenish color.]
Next step, per Andi’s video, is soaking the yarn in a cold dye bath with about 1/3 the total amount of dye being used. Not much color is going to strike without heat or acid, but it ensures the dye is evenly distributed around the yarn.
[Image ID: the same yarn above, held in a pair of metal tongs. It has become very faintly pink, though the dye bath in the background still looks dark greenish.]
After ~20 minutes, here’s what I had - a not-too-uneven layer of red. So I added the next 1/3 of the dye to the bath and put the heat on.
[Image ID: Close up of the same hank of yarn, again held in metal tongs. It is a slightly darker and more even shade of pink.]
Just heat has gotten more of the dye to strike, though I haven’t added any acid yet. That’s the main reason for the switch to the big pot: a larger volume of water to start with means I can lower the pH gradually with small additions of vinegar, and I can avoid pouring vinegar directly on the yarn (which will just make a bunch of red strike that spot at once).
[Image ID: same yarn as before, but it is now a bright berry color.]
By gradually adding acid (and the last 1/3 of my dye dose) I can get all the Red 40 evenly applied to the yarn and start fixing the Blue 6 without any uneven spots. That’s why the dye bath, in the background of the photo, looks so green - it’s all Blue 6 (and a little yellow) that hasn’t struck the yarn yet.
[Image ID: multiple photos of the same yarn, as the color darkens from berry to purple to dark gray.]
It took a lot of fiddling with the temperature to keep the water hot but not boiling, and a lot of very small additions of vinegar, but eventually the dye bath ran out and I got this beautiful - and very even! - dark gray color.
[Image ID: the skein of dark gray yarn drying on a hook, with a green towel in the background.]
It! Is! Gray! All! The! Way! Round!
Now it’s just down to getting the color right so I can get to the next step of my actual project - dying some Rambouillet wool to make the alpaca locks I got from Breezy Ridge Alpacas. Then I card them together, and then I spin!

Special Advice for Taking Caring of Your Modular Kitchen
Source of info: https://www.regalokitchens.com/blog/special-advice-for-taking-caring-of-your-modular-kitchen
Introduction
A modular kitchen is a wise purchase that balances design, usefulness, and effective use of available space. Modern kitchens are becoming more and more popular, but maintaining them is important for maintaining their durability and looks. At Regalo Kitchens, we think that with the right maintenance, your modern kitchen can last a lot longer and remain in excellent condition for many years to come. We'll provide you with some helpful maintenance advice in this blog post that will help you maintain the durability, hygienic conditions, and overall beauty of your cooking area.
Clean Regularly and Thoroughly
Cleaning your modular kitchen on a regular basis is one of the most important maintenance suggestions. Although the surfaces of modular cooking areas can often be smooth and easy to clean, regular usage can still cause stains, oil, and food particles to build up.
Countertops and Cabinets: Using a soft cloth and a light cleanser, wipe down cabinet doors and counters regularly in order to get rid of spills and grease. Aggressive cleansers should be avoided since they might harm the surface.
Stainless Steel Appliances: Water stains and fingerprints can cause stainless steel fixtures, handles, and appliances to become dull-looking. After cleaning them with a soft cloth soaked in a vinegar and water combination, pat them dry with a microfiber towel.
Glass Components: Glass cleaner should be used to clean any glass shelves or doors in your modular cooking area that have dirt or stains on them.
Prevent Water Damage
Water damage is the worst for any kitchen, therefore it's important to safeguard your modular kitchen against it.
Wipe Spills Immediately: Clean up spills right away to avoid damaging worktops, cabinets, and floors, whether they are from cooking oil drips or water from dishwashing.
Avoid Excessive Moisture: A well-ventilated kitchen is important, and wet objects shouldn't be left on worktops or next to cabinets. Overly wet conditions might eventually cause hardwood surfaces to change shape or bulge, which require costly repairs.
Organize Your Space Efficiently
The effective use of space in flexible kitchens is well-known, but maintaining this efficient usage requires structure. A kitchen that is organized is not only easier to use, but it is also simpler to clean and maintain.
Use Drawer Dividers: Drawer dividers help you keep the dishes and tools clean, save your drawers from breaking, and find what you need more easily.
Maximize Storage Cabinets: Use each one of your storage cabinets by adding pull-out racks, hooks, or shelves. This keeps waste away from worktops and guarantees that objects are placed properly.
Declutter Regularly: Go through your kitchen supplies every few months and throw away anything that has gone bad or is no longer needed. By doing this, you can keep your modular kitchen looking clean and productive while also reducing unnecessary trash.
Take Care of Your Appliances
Modern equipment such as ovens, stovetops, dishwashers, and refrigerators are all included in your modular kitchen. Your kitchen cannot function effectively unless these gadgets are properly maintained.
Clean Appliances Regularly: Furniture should have their interiors cleaned following along with the manufacturer's recommendations and their exteriors cleaned with a moist cloth. To prevent grease buildup on stovetops, be sure to clean the grates and burners on a regular basis.
Check for Maintenance Issues: Pay attention to how well your appliances are working. It can need service if anything doesn't appear right, like strange sounds or reduced effectiveness. Maintaining your appliances on a regular basis can maintain their longevity and peak performance.
Use Gentle Cleaning Products
Even though it's important to keep your modular kitchen clean, using strong chemicals could actually make things worse. Rough materials included in many cleaning solutions can dissolve the protective coatings on your cabinets and worktops or harm surfaces and breakdown finishes.
Opt for Mild Cleaners: Use a mild detergent mixed with water for most cleaning tasks. You can also create your own natural cleaner by combining water, vinegar, and a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.
Avoid Abrasive Scrubbers: Use soft cloths or sponges instead of abrasive scrubbers, which can scratch and damage surfaces.
Handle Your Modular Kitchen with Care
Lastly, remember that your modular kitchen is an investment. Treat it with care to ensure its longevity.
Avoid Slamming Cabinets: Gentle handling of cabinet doors and drawers prevents wear and tear on the hinges and runners.
Use Cutting Boards: Always use cutting boards when chopping food to avoid scratches on countertops. This small habit can protect your countertops and keep them looking like new.
Avoid Overloading Cabinets: Each cabinet in a modular kitchen is designed to hold a specific weight. Overloading can strain the hinges and lead to damage. Keep cabinet loads light and distribute heavy items across multiple shelves.
Conclusion
You can maintain your modular kitchen in excellent shape for many years to come by following these easy suggestions. Here at Regalo Kitchens, we take great pleasure in creating long-lasting, beautifully designed modular cooking spaces that are affordable. Your personalized kitchen can remain a beautiful and useful main area of your house with the right maintenance.

These accessories, from sleek storage solutions to high-tech toilet flush valves, not only add convenience but also elevate the aesthetic appeal of your space. In this blog, we'll explore how customizing your bathroom with the right addons can make a significant difference.
Why Addons Bathroom Accessories Matter
Addons are often the finishing touches that complete a bathroom's look. While tiles, fixtures, and vanity units form the core design, addon bathroom accessories bring versatility and refinement. Consider practical yet stylish accessories like towel rings, soap dispensers, and toilet brush holders. These small items play a crucial role in improving the overall experience of your bathroom. They provide an easy and cost-effective solution to update your space without the need for a complete renovation. But it's not just about aesthetics—functionality plays a huge role, too. Accessories like toilet flush valves can enhance both the user experience and the environmental impact of your bathroom.
The Role of Toilet Flush Valves in Bathroom Customization
When customizing a bathroom, toilet flush valves may not be the first thing that comes to mind, but they are crucial. Not only do they contribute to the smooth operation of your toilet system, but modern flush valves are also designed with water conservation in mind.
Advanced toilet flush valves come in various designs, from dual-flush mechanisms to sensor-activated systems that help reduce water consumption. Customizing your bathroom by choosing the right flush valve means you're not just improving aesthetics but also positively impacting the environment.
Upgrading your toilet flush valves also provides an opportunity to integrate cutting-edge technology. Smart flush systems are becoming increasingly popular for homeowners who want to optimize water use while maintaining a clean, modern look.
Practical Addons for a Stylish and Organized Bathroom
It's important to balance form and function when considering additional bathroom accessories. Here are some must-have accessories that can enhance both the look and usability of your bathroom:
Towel Warmers and Hooks: A heated towel rack is a luxurious addon that keeps your towels warm and dry, while sleek towel hooks or rings offer a minimalist storage solution.
Soap Dispensers and Holders: Say goodbye to unsightly soap bars and bulky bottles. Choose stainless steel or ceramic dispensers that match your bathroom's theme and offer clutter-free organization.
Shelving and Storage: Floating shelves are a great way to store everyday items such as skincare products or towels. They also double as stylish displays for decor like plants or candles.
Toilet Flush Valves: Whether you opt for a traditional design or a modern, sensor-activated model, flush valves are essential to your bathroom. Choose valves that complement your overall bathroom decor, adding a seamless touch of modern technology.
Personalizing Your Bathroom Design
The best part about bathroom addons is that they can be tailored to suit your individual style and preferences. No matter if your style is minimalist, industrial, or contemporary, there are addon bathroom accessories that will perfectly align with your vision. Consider a sleek, chrome finish for a modern bathroom or opt for natural materials like wood and stone for a more rustic look.
You can also coordinate your accessories with the main features of your bathroom. For example, if you have matte black faucets, choose addons with the same finish for a cohesive look. Personalizing your accessories ensures that every element works together to create a unified design theme.
Enhancing Bathroom Efficiency with Smart Addons
Incorporating smart addon bathroom accessories can also improve your bathroom's efficiency and ease of use. Motion-sensor taps, automatic soap dispensers, and even touchless toilet flush valves can reduce water consumption and create a more hygienic environment.
These smart accessories are particularly useful for families or homes with frequent guests. They offer convenience and ease while blending in with a modern bathroom aesthetic. And, because they are designed to be energy-efficient, they also contribute to sustainability efforts.
Conclusion
Customizing your bathroom with the right addons and accessories is a fantastic way to enhance style and functionality. From stylish soap dispensers and sleek floating shelves to advanced toilet flush valves, the right accessories can elevate your bathroom into a sophisticated and highly functional space. Whether you're doing a complete renovation or just updating a few features, addons allow you to personalize your bathroom to fit your specific needs and style preferences. So, next time you're thinking of upgrading your bathroom, consider the impact that well-chosen addons can make! They might be the finishing touch your bathroom needs.

Taking a shower outside is quite revitalizing. Encircled by the splendor of nature, the feeling of water rushing over your body can be both calming and energizing. Installing an outdoor shower can improve your outdoor living experience, whether you want to rinse off after a swim in the pool, wash away the salt and sand from a day at the beach, or just enjoy an al fresco shower. We will go over the factors to take into account while selecting and setting up the ideal Outdoor Shower Installations Busselton for your area in this blog post.
Benefits of Outdoor Showers
Let's examine the advantages of Outdoor Shower Installations Busselton before getting into the specifics of selecting and constructing one:
a. Convenience and Hygiene: Outside showers offer a practical means of washing your hands before entering your house, preventing sand, dirt, and chlorine from getting into your interior spaces.
b. Connection with Nature: Taking a shower outside gives you a special sense of independence and tranquility and lets you take in the fresh air and connect with nature.
c. Access to a pool and beach: Having an Outdoor Showers Busselton close to a water source is practically essential for maintaining a clean environment, whether you own a pool or reside near a beach.
d. Cooling Off: Taking an outdoor shower can be a quick and delightful method to cool off on sweltering summer days, which can enhance your enjoyment of outdoor activities.
Selecting an Appropriate Outdoor Shower Service
Take into account the following elements while choosing an outdoor shower:
a. Location: Think about accessibility, seclusion, and ease of access to water sources while choosing the ideal spot for your outdoor shower. Think about whether you want a shower that is attached to an existing building or one that is freestanding.
b. Design and Style: Pick an Outdoor Showers that goes well with your outside décor. There are a variety of styles and materials available, such as wood, bamboo, or stainless steel, ranging from sleek and modern to rustic and natural.
c. Water Supply: Choose between a shower with just cold water or a hot and cold water system. While cold-water showers are easier to construct and maintain, hot-water showers offer year-round functionality.
d. Fixtures and Accessories: To improve the use and convenience of your outdoor shower, take into consideration adding extra features like adjustable showerheads, foot showers, soap dishes, towel hooks, and shelving.
