staig headcanons:

• Dislike each other at first but slowly find out they have more in common than they think but both just keep waiting and silently wishing for the other to first initiate something

• They bond over their similar music taste

• Whenever Stan catches Craig staring he thinks he’s glaring at him and is afraid his crush hates him, Craig flipping him off whenever he gets caught also does NOT help

• Stan’s friends try to reassure him by saying that he would definitely be able to beat Craig in a fight because he kinda sucked in that Tweek vs. Craig episode

• Whenever Stan gets the chance he just approves or immediately agrees with whatever Craig says as a way to show his interest (sometimes mistaken as sarcasm bc of their rivalry) and hoping that Craig gets the hint but he will frantically deny ever liking him at all (this hc the other way around would actually be quite cute too)

• When Stan texts Craig for a school matter or for whatever reason, it always concerns him if Stan’s dry ass texting means he’s mad at him or not but when they get closer he finds out that’s just the way he is

• Stan sometimes gets in detention just so he can spend some more time with Craig instead of actually making a move on him

• The whole class mistakes their pining over each as a rivalry because they’re both shitty at admitting it and/or showing it

• Cartman would probably be spreading rumors about how eventually a fight is definitely gonna end up happening between those two but then it turns out that Stan and Craig are actually a couple instead

This is literally what I've been saying. Craig and Stan have always been friendly with each other. The only rivalry is Cartman and Kyle. Craig and Stan seem to not mind each other one bit. Idk why the fandom insisted they hate each other.

Kyle and Terrence Mephisto have the dynamic in canon that the fandom believes Stan and Craig have.

Staig Headcanons

♤ Their relationship is very chaotic. They can be the cold couple or the strangely affectionate couple.

♡ They can go days without talking to each other, via text or in person. Their friends end up a bit concerned thinking they hate each other or broke up.

◇ Stan is a tad bit more affectionate, wanting to hold hands or just shower Craig with love, as his love language is physical affection. Craig is more... words of affirmation & acts of service.

♧ Craig plans the dates most of the time, Stan would occasionally, and they are usually the more hands-on activities (i.e., hiking, biking, etc.).

☆ Stan likes to get themselves matching items, via, shirts, bracelets, and other nicnacks. Craig likes to keep them, even if he doesn't seem so enthusiastic over it. He is definitely either wearing a bracelet or necklace that Stan bought him or just keeping it in his pocket.

♤ They trade hats sometimes. When this happens, Stan likes to mimic Craig, trying to behave like him and randomly flip people off.

♡ When Stan and Craig go out to eat together, they argue over who's paying, and sometimes it can get physical (not violent), leading to arm wrestling or just them throwing their cards away from the bill before the other can pay.

◇ They geek out over their interests, Craig with space, and Stan with the marine life. They tease each other about their interests, but in the end, they both listen intently and pick up on certain details.

♧ They like to give each other things related to their interests.

☆ Stan 100% would go to Craig's house if he knows Craig is out and does something for him there. He probably got some glow in the dark paint and started painting stars and sharks on Craig's walls. Craig would come home, and when he'd go to bed, he would see everything glow and just stare at it for a while.

♤ They go stargazing together. Stan would be lying down next to Craig as Craig is rambling on and on about the stars and his favorite constellations. Craig enjoys these dates the most.

♡ Sometimes, to try and be cute, Craig calls Stan, Marshmallow. Stan found it cheesy as hell when he started, but it did start growing on him. He finds it endearing.

◇ Craig fell first. Why? How? No clue, he just did.

♧ Stan LOVES to see Craig smile or laugh. It's what he likes most, seeing Craig open up more.

☆ Their first date was like the song from La La Land; A Lovely Night.

i like the idea of interactions between craig gang and main 4 so much. and i honestly believe that in high school the “mediators” between these two groups are tweek and kenny, since kenny is close to literally everyone in the class, so he hangs out with craig really often, and tweek kinda kept the childhood friendship with kyle and sometimes hangs out with stan and cartman.

and they couldn’t not notice how craig and those guys really despise and try to interact as little is possible with main4, meanwhile stan and his friends avoid hanging out with craig’s gang as well.

and none of them seems to really remember why they hate each other and why didn’t the silly little rivalry in the elementary school end when they grew up – so tweek and kenny decided to dig a little bit deeper and find the origins of this conflict, and after a week or two with the help of indirect questions and some bottles of wine for stan they finally discovered that craig and stan were dating back in middle school, but now they’re exes.

and it all finally started to make sense now :D

Gooood day, staig enthusiasts! The time has finally come, and it's here! Staig week 2023! We're so glad that we were able to pull this off, with the three teasers presented we hoped it had made you look forward to this wonderful event.

SEPTEMBER 18 — SEPTEMBER 24

Now, let's get to it! But first, a set of guidelines for this week.

• PRIORITY RULE NO PLAGIARISM / AI ART / HATE SPEECH OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT. staig week is friendly not to just artists, but to everybody else.

• submission any form of submission is acceptable! art on paper/digital, literature, edits, etc! as long as it honors the priority rule. + late submissions are fine!

• tagging if to submit, use #staigweek2023 or tag us so the world may see your contribution!

• themes the first six days have two choices to choose from, and you are to pick one. or, if you're feeling motivational, choose both! why not?

• it's more than okay if you draw/write staig as their genderbent, headcanons, or post-covid versions throughout the week! whichever you're comfortable with.

first confession - they say confessions make the best memory — or the worst.

• SEPTEMBER 19TH, DAY 2: my impressions of you

fanfiction - is there a particular fanfiction of staig you always wanted to illustrate? a oneshot that captures their endearment perfectly that you just want to draw it?

theme song - a theme song should be interesting, no? ever found a song you've listened to one day, and thought, 'hey, i can imagine 10 different scenarios of staig with this song'. or maybe it's just them listening to your favorite artist? it depends on how you see it.

• SEPTEMBER 20TH, DAY 3: nostalgic memories

SOT - stick of truth; the warrior and the thief, marshwalker and feldspar. how do you imagine their story?

TFBW - the fractured but whole; yet again toolshed and super craig remain rivals, what is it with these two?

• SEPTEMBER 21ST, DAY 4: troublesome

detention - with their reputation, why wouldn't they be in detention? always getting into fights, disasters they've caused.. but for what purpose exactly?

bad habits - sneaking out at night to party or to their secret meeting place, drinking, smoking, skipping classes, the typical rebellious teenage stuff which could be romantic if you think hard enough.

• SEPTEMBER 22ND, DAY 5: so happy together

indoors - staig date! indoors bonding — video games, cooking, card games, or spending time with stripe? who knows.

outdoors - another staig date? ridiculous. but this time it could be different and unique, maybe? like an aquarium date, a stargazing date, or stick to the basics. maybe go into the alphabet of dates to see what would go well with them? you decide.

• SEPTEMBER 23RD, DAY 6: up to this special day

graduation - their graduation! could be their graduation picture together, or a sentimental moment they could share.

prom night - a final moment to perfectly end their senior year in a success or a disaster; depending on your mood.

• SEPTEMBER 24TH, DAY 7: happy staig 2023!

I chose steek because I already had some headcanons in my head :D

- Okay listen they dyed their hair together. Tweek wanted to dye his hair but was too scared because he had no idea how to do it by himself & though he'd ruin his hair completely. So he wanted to go find one of these fancy salons and go there, but once he shared his idea with Stan he was like. Dude. There's no way you're doing that. Sooo Stan explained to Tweek that he's experienced and could help, and also how it's much cooler to do it in your boyfriend's house than at the expansive salon. Tweek agreed, but still was very scared. Then Stan decided to suggest they dye their hair together, which somehow made Tweek calmer. I'd imagine them either both dyeing their hair in bright colors OR Tweek in black and Stan in blond...

- One time Tweek's dad was very sick, so it was only Tweek and his mom who were able to work at the cafe. Obviously Tweek was very busy for an entire week, so Stan decided to volunteer to help him. What can go wrong, right? It was the day when Stan found out what Tweek is capable of. Stan couldn't keep up with him, not even close. Tweek managed to talk with customers, deal with things in the pantry, run his mom's errands and sometimes even help her with the coffee. Meanwhile Stan? All he could keep up with is helping Tweek with his "come and give" tasks and sometimes washing the dishes. And Stan was already pretty fucking exhausted! When the workday ended Stan was looking very tired, but Tweek? He was looking the same as he always does. The word "impressive" would not even be enough. Tho, Tweek couldn't stop thanking Stan, saying how much easier he made it for him. Stan couldn't really agree, considering how much work Tweek had done compared to him, but seeing Tweek happy was enough. (Would he do it again? Probably not)

- Ohhh I imagine them finding each other's troubles kinda relatable and because of that managing them perfectly. Tweek would listen to Stan's 2 AM vents, comfort him and talk to him in the morning. With Tweek himself...Like, at first Stan would try to "help" Tweek, but then he realized that there's not much you can do with his anxiety attacks, so instead of this he would also try to be extra cautious and observant when Tweek needs that. I CAN'T REALLY EXPLAIN IT, but Tweek would feel the relate and it'd comfort him a bit :(

Staig Headcanon:

When Stan and Craig first started dating, nobody believed they would last long. Craig is a monotonous dick to people and Stan is emotional, angry at the world and drowning in addiction and depression.

No one expected that, when they got together, they played to each other's strengths. Stan showed Craig it's okay to let it out and show your emotions, while Craig showed Stan it's okay to keep to yourself and not care about things too much.

Sexuality headcanon- Bi. Outside of Kyle his serious relationships are all with women, but he does hook up with guys in hs/young adulthood in my hcs where he and Kyle aren't pretty much dating from hs onward.

first headcanon that pops into my head- That Stan 'comes out' to Kenny before he does Kyle by talking about boys he thinks are hot. He doesn't think about it that much in a 'secret sharing' capacity, more in the capacity of Kyle not liking to talk about people's bodies and him and Kenny just running their mouths a bit, but Kyle does see it more as Stan not telling him things and is hurt by it.

favorite line from this character- 'Oh God, I hope I didn't hurt any beavers.' is the one stuck in my head rn but really I like most of his lines.

one way in which I relate to this character- Getting stuck on something small that bugs me and snowballing it to a nonsensical degree to make a point. The traveling across the country because a movie pissed me off is the brand of nonsense I engage with when people don't tell me I'm being a dumbfuck and need to let things go.

thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character- The episodes where Stan gets up his own ass lol, but in a specific way. I actually didn't mind the ChatGPT ep in this regard and found it funny even though I did find it a backslide in growth with communicating with Wendy that's been pretty consistent (if sporadic) in my view though I know it bothered a lot of people just on a strict behavior standpoint. But the stuff that GETS me is eps like Butterballs where he's so wanting people to like him that it makes him a massive shitlord hahaha. The only one I find good enough to rewatch is Trapped in the Closet because caring about the good of the people was still part of that where most of the time it's really just down to 'I don't want to seem unlikable, look this is making me superficially popular which must mean people like me'.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head but everything he said in Assburgers was a 10 to me. From that scene with Mr. Mackey which was heartbreaking to his scene with Kyle which was hilarious.

i'm more introverted ig. like i don't know if that's a popular opinion or not but stan is introverted in my opinion and so am i

thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: oh stanley, there are so many things that stan does that gives me second hand embarassment. when he told kyle he loved him when he was drunk, when he rubbed his ass on the ground for some social media trend, DEEP LEARNING, he's just very embarrassing
