La Bones Brigade è stata una squadra di skateboard di livello mondiale creata nel 1979 da Stacy Peralta e George Powell. Powell-Peralta, infatti, volevano una squadra di skater agonisti eccezionali che potessero favorire la crescita della loro azienda. Per i Bones Brigade, quindi, scelsero i migliori nelle loro discipline – vert, bowl, freestyle e street – e con loro dominarono lo skateboarding…

That’d be a bore… Read on, it’s all in Black & White… (Words by Steve Olson) “I remember skating one day in front of the drug store. I was zooming around and I could feel the rumble of the sidewalk and the hard clay wheels coming up through my feet. I could feel the vibrations in my legs and the wind at my face and the whole time I was trying to find balance. I was leaning this way and that way, forward then a bit backward, and left then right. I kept shifting my weight to compensate for the changes in speed and the rock hard terrain and rock hard wheels. The entire time I was looking for equilibrium and trying to balance all of these forces. I was this seven-year-old kid in the middle of all this chaos. I was going down the sidewalk on this little board very fast with all this activity swirling around me. There were cars and people. There was the rumble of the sidewalk coming up through my feet and the terror of falling face first onto concrete and, all of a sudden, in the midst of all of this, I started to relax. Suddenly, I was feeling this sense of stillness within me. I found my equilibrium and I was totally at peace. I was totally still inside and I was flying down this sidewalk. Every time I get on a skateboard, I relax and I’m at peace within myself. What a epic documentary on the one & only @tonyhawk! I grew up hanging/watching the @bonesbrigade & actually was a member 😆 (swipe for picture). I do have a fun story of the 1st & only time I met Tony. It was at the S.F. fountain contest I believe in 1990/91. I would always find a way to get into the contest to hang with my heroes. I was near the medical aid area when I noticed Tony just walking out. I got the balls to walk up to him to say hi. Without a pause he starts chatting with me & say’s check out my hip, pulls his shorts half way down to show me his bulging hip & how wobbly it was. Then went on his way to pull noise blunts🔥Such a epic moment I will always cherish! Thanks to entire @bonesbrigade team & all the skateboarders in the world for keeping these positive vibes rolling!! I skate this park and most of the California parks back in the day. USF love to frontside grind. Posted @withrepost • @glenefriedman WENTZLE RUML IV - circa 1977 at a early Northern California skatepark, bringing the DogTown style up north, visiting Mike Rector who paid for us teenagers to fly up there to hang out and session a few places up there and hang at his Santa Rosa spread in Wine Country. The small plane that took Wentzle and I from SF airport was a first for both of us 🥺 but i did that incredible view of the Golden Gate bridge, out the window of the narrow one seat per row 6 person plane, made the photo that appeared in my book THE IDEALIST. . . This is one of many images in the newly expanded “DOGTOWN - The Legend of the Z-Boys” book. . .
