oh my gosh i'm so glad the indycar season has started but pato totally deserved that win!
Yes he did! I was watching the race on TV and I was so upset when he got passed. It wasn't his fault tho.
Does anyone else remember his first win? It was Texas 2, I think it was on May 2nd. Felix Rosenqvist was in the hospital because he had been in a crash in a previous race, so Oliver Askew was racing for him. I was so happy that Pato got to share that special moment with his best friend and former teammate. I still remember the look of pure joy on Pato's face as he shot the pistols and jumped in the fountain with his team and best friend.

Me watching the first INDYCAR race like.
Me pretending to be shocked that Josef won and Pato got second.
Me seeing Marcus dnfing.
Me making sure I read correctly that Pietro ended in 15th
Me questioning why I can’t remember much more of that race…….
Still sad we can’t see he’s pretty face yet, I’m literally so excited to see how he does with arrow McLaren this year
Me wondering why INDYCAR did a whole segment of what went down in the drivers personal lives during the break, like announcing who drivers started dating and who got married like hun this is a race
#indycar#St. Petersburg gp 2024#like seriously who let the woman start talking about drivers romantic lives#pato o’ward#josef newgarden#david malukas

Are you American?
I am! And this American is 100% going to find a way to support Logan Sargeant during the Firestone GP of St. Petersburg if he signs to drive in IndyCar next year 🦅 🇺🇸

Yurio Headcanons
He began figure skating at age four when his mother took him to train. Moved to St Petersburg at eleven to train under Yakov.
His spins are better that Viktor's because he is more flexible.
He is an incredible skater but not an artist.
He has always been under Viktor shadow.
His footwork is not good, he tends to be slow, sloppy and does too much two-footing skating.
He has never received a level 4 in his step sequences.
He has shallow edges.
He has a textbook quad salchow.
He doesn't have the stamina to land five quads or a quad axel.
He is an example of the Russian figure skating machine and politics focused state program. He has always been told that he is perfect and will be the next champion.
Never landed a quad Flip in his career.
I can see him developing an eating disorder
During his twenties developed a rivalry with Minami and Guang Hong.
During his career he was heavily dependent on state funding as his personality did not attract good sponsorships.
He usually is not picked to skate in shows outside of Russia.
His strength is the short program
His weakness are stamina and strength
His strengths are flexibility and flow
He will struggle after his grow spur, He will lose his jumps and develop injuries after pushing his body too hard, and will have to take a season off. He will have to build himself from the start, first season after his injury he won´t qualify to GPF and will end 17 at worlds.
His skating looks very junior until he is in his twenties and working in his artistry.
He has been called a prodigy since he was six.
He is not a hardworking type of skater; he relies too much in his natural talent.
He tends to peak earlier in the season that's why the GP is his best competition.
Hi is not as consistent as Viktor
The triple axel is his weakest jump
He will lose some of his flexibility after his grow spur since after turning eighteen he decides to quit ballet and distance himself from the image of a Russian fairy that has been created for him. He will start to explore other types of music.
He will move to America for a while for training reasons. Yakov will still be his main coach but he will be trained by a coach approved by the federation.
He will go to college in Russia but will do it online when he moved for training.
In America he will live in California and will share and apartment with Otabek.
When Yakov retires, he will be coached by a lady.
Upon retirement he will become a lady's figure skating coach. He will work in Moscú
He will live in Russia the rest of his life.
He also got a lot of hate, particularly from the Russian media. for them he is not like Viktor enough.
When people think of the Russian "style" of skating -- they think of him
At the GPF in Barcelona he had a pretty big moment of glory, and it faded down from there.
He returned the Agape costume at the end of the season because he didn't want anything to do with Viktor and the costume wouldn't fit him much longer.
He is not Viktor successor.

here i am. asking you. about andretti green racing from 2003-2005. 👀?
OHHHH BOY JASMINE THANK YOU FOR ENABLING ME!!!!! (there’s gonna be a slight essay down here but not too long).
what can i say about agr’s lineup of wheldon, herta, franchitti and kanaan…..well, the 2003-05 lineup of andretti green racing was honestly magical…. between these years, they emassed 1 indy 500 victory (wheldon in 2005), 2 consecutive championships (kanaan in 2004 and wheldon in 2005), and 20 race victories as a team. those stats are INSANE for any era to me, but especially as this was during the time when CART was waning as some of their teams (including AGR) left for the indy racing league/indycar.
not only was the success amazing, but these four guys were genuinely just best friends. you can tell they really loved racing against each other and always celebrated each other’s wins. here’s some photos from AGR’s 1-2-3-4 podium sweep at the 2005 GP of st petersburg:
and dan, bryan and michael andretti from the 2005 indy 500:
in 2006, wheldon left AGR for CGR and was replaced by a young marco andretti, essentially dissolving the AGR dream team lineup of 2003-05.
by 2011, no members of the AGR dream team (as they are called) were still with andretti autosport (as it was now called); herta now led his own team, bryan herta autosport; dario was driving for CGR, and TK was driving for KV racing technology. in 2011, dan won his second indy 500, driving for bryan’s team, but that same year dan unfortunately lost his life in a racing accident.
since then, all three of the remaining members of the AGR dream team have taken up roles within teams (herta works as the strategist for the #27, plus the second indy 500 win for his team with rossi, dario works with CGR, and TK works with arrow mclaren).
i would also heavily recommend watching the lionheart (2024), which details dan wheldon’s racing career and has a lot of old AGR content plus interviews with each of the members and michael andretti!!!!
god i love talking about them

Today’s translation #775
Animage Feb. 2017, Shishido Jun's interview (Chief Episode Director)
Part 9.
-- The gap between how Yuuri looks on the ice and off the ice is amazing and it feels so good to watch it!
Shishido: Speaking about gaps, Yurio also does it. When he's on the ice, he's agape, and off the ice, a delinquent (laugh).
-- Right now, in December of 2016, real-life Grand Prix series is also in progress. What is your perspective, when you are watching GP series competitions?
Shishido: At present, we still haven't finished all the work that needs to be done at the studio, so I only check the results of the competitions that are going on right now, but I can't watch them properly. These days, the truth is that everyday for me is steeped in figure skating, so I don't really have the space in my heart for even more figure skating.
-- In the last episode, Yuuri didn't retire and he's in St. Petersburg. In addition, Victor also went back to competitive skating. The ending gave hope to a lot of fans.
Shishido: The show ended, leaving behind only that 'See you NEXT LEVEL' message. But to be honest, even if we will do a continuation, right now, I want to focus on my energy on our current tasks [it was the time of correction for DVD/Blu-ray version], so I can't really think about what is going to happen next at the moment. I feel that I used my life limit for drawing figure skating (laugh). When it's all over, I want to take a vacation and rest, and then, if we will get the chance to create the next level in some form, I'll do my best to make it into a show that all of you can enjoy again.

im bored rn so ill talk about my coach oc in my figure skating dr (based her off of someone irl but I won't say who, i wanna see if anyone can guess it) :D
Name: Havent decided on one but if anyone has ideas id love to hear them
Age: 48 (as of 2022, so born in 1974)
Nationality: Russian
Achievements: Russian Nationals (1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze), European Championship (1 silver, 1 bronze), GP Cup of Russia (1 silver, 1 bronze), Nebelhorn Trophy (1 silver), Skate Canada (1 silver), Schäfer Memorial (1 bronze), GP NHK Trophy (1 bronze)
Backstory: She skated in Singles when she was younger but due to an injury while training her 3A she had to unfortunately give up her career in 1998 (at age 24) and started coaching first in St. Petersburg alongside Tamara Moskvina and later in Moscow alongside Eteri Tutberitze. She married a German with Russian roots, who at the time was living in Moscow due to work reasons, in 2009 and together they moved back to Germany in 2013.
Coaching: She started coaching me in 2014 after she saw me in a group skating class at a rink in my home town. I'm the only student she is coaching at the moment although she is involved in my home club as well. She choreographes all my programs (and used to choreograph her own as well btw) and is an ISU technical specialist as well.
idk if i forgot anything but if i did just tell me in the comments haha id love to talk more about her (btw idk if its realistic to just have one coach so if its not pls tell me and ill script someone else too haha)

Arguably one of (if not the) most successful driver to come through The Road to Indy, it might be easy to assume that Kyle Kirkwood has an arrogance about him. That couldn't be further from the truth. Highly regarded in the paddock, Kyle has a reputation for being levelheaded and easy-going.
His rookie season with AJ Foyt was not an easy one but he persevered with a smile on his face. His first two races at Andretti were certified Train Wrecks but his weekend in Long Beach where he claimed pole and his maiden victory showed that his success in the lower categories was not a fluke by any means.
If you want to find Kyle off of a race track, your best bet would be to find the nearest Floridian body of water. Diving, fishing and surfing are his favorite hobbies and it's not rare to see his pals (who also drive race cars) Oliver Askew and Logan Sargeant with him on his adventures.
