Happy Winter Wonderklok! Today's prompt is Saran Wrap Ball, and it marks part 1 of my 'big fic' for this challenge.

Summary: Saturnalia, at its Roman height, was a festival to celebrate Saturn, the god of the harvest. After the appropriate sacrifices, celebrants partied, exchanged gifts, feasted, and made merry in hopes of a bountiful spring. Lucy may not be a farmer, but she’s in for one hell of a spring with the way this party’s going.

“You got real pretty eyes, you know that?”

Ceelie pauses, the makeup removal wipe hovering just a touch above her eyelashes. She catches sight of JD in the mirror and has to carefully pull her hand away so she doesn’t accidentally poke herself in the eye when she giggles at him.

He’s laying on his stomach with his head resting on his crossed forearms. His face is plastered with a goofy smile, and his eyes are fluttering as he fights off the sleep that’s trying to claim him. He looks like a big ol’ puppy dog, splayed out on her bed and waiting patiently at her beck and call. Warmth curls in Ceelie’s chest— two parts fondness and one part power. If she told JD to roll over right now, he’d grumble about it, but he’d do it.

“You’re shitfaced, Mr Walker.” Ceelie chirps.

“Was tryin’ to keep pace with ya Miss Ceelie, but you hold your liquor better than I do.” JD huffs. “Sides, it don’t change anything. You got purdy eyes, and you can drink me under the table. Both things can be true.”

His words are slurring together, bringing out an extra thickness to that whiskey-smoke accent that makes Ceelie shiver. She chuckles at him and turns back to her vanity mirror, wiping away the last of her makeup. When the wipes start coming away clear, she gathers them up and deposits them in the waste bin. Finally, she can sashay over to the bed and poke JD until he shifts over and grant her room to lounge.

“Alright, I’m done. You can consider yourself off-duty and finally get some sleep.” Ceelie teases.

JD grumbles, immediately wrapping those thick arms around her and pulling her against his chest for cuddles.

“Whatever you say, Ma’am.” He murmurs against her forehead, before pressing a little kiss to her hairline.

Ceelie preens at the affection, and quite gladly rests her head on his chest.

“We make a good pair.” She muses, a smirk playing at her lips. “I’ve got purdy eyes, and you’ve got purdy tits.”

She accentuates her statement with a gentle pat to his ample pecs. They rumble as JD chuckles at her.

“Hell fuckin’ yeah I got purdy tits.”

A very happy birthday to @gointothevvater's St. Cecilia Jameson! I chose her relationship with Charles as my focus for today's fic.

Summary: Charles encounters nonstop obstacles in his quest to find the perfect birthday gifts for his beloved St. Cecilia, who's happy to remind him about the greatest gift of all.
