So, something I realized early on about Ultraman the show is that it's not the show of Ultraman, it's the show of the continuous adventures of the Science Patrol featuring Ultraman as a last minute deus ex machina.

But as I approach the half-way point I'm realizing Ide feels more like the protagonist of the show, alongside Fuji and the Captain; most of the time Hayata is kind of there doing nothing, like his role is to look pretty and turn into Ultraman when things get hairy
