@apsaraqueen​ wrote a beautiful poignant oneshot for this year @ssrevminibang​  reverse bang... it’s a sensuous, layered and thought-provoking piece, dealing among other things with musings on mortality/immortality, masterfully offsetting the Sailor Moon character  we know and love (and one unforgettable OC ) in a future Egypt - and world - dealing with the devastation of the past - but also their ancestors’ musings and wisdom on the meaning of life -  on the edge of promised eternity under the rise of Crystal Tokyo.  It achieved both enriching canon and trascending it. Ayyyyy <3. I feel so lucky we ended up paired together for this. And I’m not worthy but here we go, I tried to at least convey a bit of a meaningful suspended moment in the story. The Senshi & Shitennou Reverse Mini Bang 2019 is here!

Artist and Author Sign Ups are OPEN until Sunday 31 March 2019!

Welcome one and all to Senshi & Shitennou Reverse Mini Bang 2019! We’re so glad you’re here and we hope you’re as eager to get started as we are because we think we’ve made some great improvements (see? We’re learning!)

As we mentioned last year, we’re alternating in between Mini Bangs and Reverse Mini Bangs. The 2018 Mini Bang produced some amazing fics (which kinda still has us gaping in awe, to be honest) and the art! Oh my gosh, the art that came with them was stunning! We’re still blown away by it all (incidentally, if you would like to see/read them, they’re available here.)

This year we’re running the Reverse Mini Bang again, so Artists will be the ones to create work which will inspire Authors. We had some great collaboration between our Artists and Authors previously and we’re hoping to not only replicate, but increase that this year, too!

To start with, let’s reveal our theme for the SSRevMB 2019: 

"The Sea"

Sounds vast, right? Well, it is. Just like last year’s theme, you can be as literal or as metaphorical with it as you’d like. Mermaid!Ami? Yes! What about Kunzite’s sea of troubles? Go for it! Makoto x Nephrite on the Titanic AU? GIMME! Have a need to make us sigh over the ebb and flow of Jadeite’s passions as he sits on a beach and stares out into the abyss? Yeah, duh, of course we need it like we need oxygen. Pirate!Rei kicking butt and taking names? Oh hecks to the yesses baby! What about Venus’ tumultuous rage personified as a brewing storm heading to land? Daaaaamn. Zoisite makes an official visit to Neptune? Nice, please show me more. 

Lost cities! Sharks! Metaphors about life! Lighthouses! Seaside towns! Viking fics! Learning to swim! Beaches! Icebergs! Storms! Dauntlessness in the face of the unknown! Sea shanties! Treasure fics! Sea deities! Inner demons lurking underneath the surface! Actual creatures lurking in the depths! Water planets! Unpredictability of life! Flooded apocalyptic Crystal Tokyo! Destiny! Navigating the sea of space! The possibilities are endless... like the sea itself. Kinda.

The Senshi & Shitennou Reverse Mini Bang 2019!

Since Tumblr is being the worst and preventing posts with links from being viewed in their searches, here’s a little linkless post to let you know that sign ups for our Reverse Mini Bang 2019 are open (from now until Sunday March 31 2019).

For those who aren’t in the know, a Reverse Mini Bang is where artists create art and authors write a fic (min 4,000 words) based on that art.

The only limitation is that the art and fic contain at least one inner Senshi and one shitennou (they don’t have to be romantically linked, and if they are they don’t have to be paired ‘traditionally’). They must also incorporate the theme (this year it’s ‘The Sea’), which can be interpreted as literally or as metaphorically as you like!

Looking for Betas!

Hello guys! As you might know one of our requirements is that all the writers have a Beta assigned for them. But this year, we have more fics than signed up Betas, that’s why we are looking for people interested into helping us!

At the moment we are looking 3 Betas (or someone who is interested in taking more than one fic)

There are 3 categories of beta:

The Heavy Lifter: need help with plot development? line editing? serious critical evaluation? grammar/spelling? plenty of cheerleading and/or prodding with a stick? I’m all in! Let me get my hands dirty.

The Enabler: their work is their own and I don’t want to impose on that creative process, but if they’re stuck they can bounce ideas off of me and I’m happy to make sure there aren’t any kinks in the work. I’ll give it a thorough-read through for things like pacing, logic of the plot, structure and grammar/spelling (also, plenty of cheerleading!!)

The Light Polisher: I’m here for the Author who’s been doing this a while, who knows what they want, has the plan already worked out and just needs someone to make sure they haven’t missed anything.
