ok i know that they had all of dune 2 happen within the span of jessica's pregnancy for filmmaking reasons, but having paul become the messiah of the notoriously skeptical fremen within a year was a seriously bad choice. in book canon paul hangs out with them for a few years. it's more plausible that people would come to trust him after he had spent much time with them proving that he could live up to their expectations. his heelturn in the movie is so sudden and it's one of my most annoying nitpicks because of that
