it is really funny i walked ass backwards into low approval with solas on this playthrough for a couple reasons such as a) i've never been impolite or unkind to him, he just hates all my opinions and actions, making his distaste hilariously one-sided and b) i've been taking cole around a lot, since i never did before, and i have MAX approval with him, so solas and I come off as cole's terribly, horribly divorced parents with an incredible amount of festering, one-sided animosity kept together solely by cole's affection for us both. and that's not even counting varric (cole's other father who likes and agrees with me more than solas) or iron bull (current romance/cole's incredibly awkward stepdad who also likes and agrees with me more than solas). cole has four parents, three of them all like and agree with each other and the fourth is solas. parenthood is a war and i am Winning

I think Alex/Chloe/Steph/Max should be a bigger ship. If I wasn’t preemptively scared of trying to do so many She/Her pronouns in a piece of fanfiction I would totally write a soulmate Au for them. Here are my thoughts;

Chloe and Steph, high-fiving over having two super powered short bi gfs

Alex and Max, high-fiving over having two lesbian punk gfs

Max, posting a picture of Alex, Chloe and Steph on the couch; My three girlfriends. And yes, they smoke weed.

Max is the only one with a full set of loving parents so she shares them a lot.

Chloe having to control her anger better because if she doesn’t Alex gets all squirrley. Her and Steph go to one of those smash rooms every once in a while.

Chloe keeps trying to convince them to become a band but Steph points out that she’s the only one that doesn’t have any musical talent so she’d have to be their groupie. Chloe is ok with this but Max and Alex don’t want to be in the spot light.

Max’s fans are confused because Max barely posts her personal information. When it finally comes out that she’s in a poly relationship she defends herself by saying that technically she’s been out. It’s not her fault that no one believed her when she said she had three weed smoking girlfriends.

listen gunter was corrin's combat instructor, not an obgyn. anyway they've been fooling around. uh. a lot.

more than a few dedicated fuck marathons leaving them absolutely exhausted but so satisfied, best endurance in the army amiright

the first time corrin gets morning sickness they both just assume she had a bad piece of meat or something

and it's not until corrin gets morning sickness a few times a row that it suddenly dawns on him, maybe he's distractedly looking over her cabinet for something to help the nausea and an old memory of him doing this before (for his late wife) hits him.

and he goes sheet white.

is i really get the class difference is a big deal. less so with a casual fuck or fling, but when it comes to royal heirs? twice-thrice-over? him as not just a commoner but the whole [gestures]?

and he's thinking oh shit oh fuck i fucked up her life

and he's a long term thinker he's thinking as her knight-guardian every worst case scenario possible all in a blitzkreig (not unreasonably), and almost immediately gets the notion that he's gotta. get rid of this stupid fucking mess his fucking feelings have gotten into (there's ways, maybe niles knows)-

and his chest is tight, there's a tiny frail part of his heart erupting into a blinding grief, struggling, and not even allowing himself to the mourn the what-if-

what if again (this tiny precious miracle of a little one and having it torn away again)-

brutally shoving any thoughts aside he sort of brusquely nudges her to go visit a doctor real quick to confirm, she senses something's weirdly spooked him just by how curt and iron-brittle-tense and almost snappish her beloved authority figure of a black knight is all the sudden and it's. not a great feeling. she's spooked, stomach's squirrley still, spooked enough that she misses the way how he looks at her with the kind of terror of having lost before.

he gets her to a doctor without incident, leaves them to their thing and paces like a madman outside. doctor just ironically thinks that he might be the first one to know, (never the father) of course.

(gunter, upon being let back in, ignores the comment about 'when the father hears-', but it's a. it's a dig. one of many many unintentional digs he ignores, and ignores and ignores-)

but when they're alone again - corrin won't let go of him, she's suddenly very touchy/needy and genuinely concerned about him, she's tentatively happy, she kind of always in the naievity saw them as having kids, it just happened ehhh kinda earlier than they assumed?

and corrin mentions this in a stream of nervous consciousness and -

he grabs her. not hard- there's a vaguely rough-edged strangled weakly incredulous tone to his voice she's never ever heard before, never as him as a combat instructor, never as a lover-

'you want them?'

and it hits him here-

she wants his children.

she wants him as their father, she doesn't want to just have it as a footnote and a badly ended fling, she wants him and their child as a real future.

he is not a very emotional (or emotionally demonstrative) man but i think he leans his forehead against her shoulder for a very long time and just.... buries his face against her.

and corrin doesn't completely get the depth of why, but she holds him, her beloved, and they break there, but in that healing, whole way.

It had been a very good day by all accounts. A day filled with wins, the straightforward kind that felt like a balm on the heart, not the complicated squirrley ones that made more problems than they solved. After Weisshaupt they sorely needed something like today. Lives saved, relics recovered-- Davrin even managed to rescue a kitten from a tree for the daughter of the one of the Veiljumpers. Neve hadn't stopped teasing him about since the sangria started flowing after dinner.

"Alright, I think its time someone cut the detective off," Davrin moved to take matters into his own hand by grabbing her glass but Neve was faster. Even Taash was impressed by how quickly Neve downed what was left in the glass.

"Ah-ah-ah," she waggled her index finger at the exasperated Warden. Lucanis defly swiped the glass from Neve's hand and refilled it, leaving it on the opposite side of the table for her to find when she was ready before making his way around the dining area, refilling glasses as needed.

Rook had spent most of this time after dinner sitting on couch in the corner, shuffling and sorting through loose sheafs of paper only mildly engaged with the others. After seeing her wine glass empty, Lucanis came over to fill her glass, drawing the attention of the others in that direction.

"Hellooo, Rook," Lace turned around in her chair to face her, "What are you even doing. Don't tell me it's another packet of paperwork from Viago."

"No, no," Rook laughed, setting the paper on the cushion next to her. "Manfred found this and gave it to me, it's a bunch of music. It's from all over, I don't see any rhyme or reason for this collection so I've been trying to sort it out. Along with this,"

A loud hiss came from the far edge of the table where Manfred stood behind Emmrich. Emmrich, who had been facing Rook the whole time. A happy hiss that grew louder when Rook produced a violin that was behind the couch.

"Woah! You can play an instrument?" Taash interjected first, before anyone else could breathe a word about it. "You know anything good, like, a song about the Crows?"

"What kind of Crow do you think I am?" Rook snorted. She brought the violin up to her chin and made eye contact with Lucanis as she began to play. "Okay, I can play more instruments than the average Crow but all Antivans know this song. I've been told that some Crows know this song better than others."

"Mierda," Lucanis huffed as Rook played a familiar melody. "You don't mean to have me,"

Rook just smiled at him.

"You do." Lucanis sighed before he took a deep breath and an even deeper drink of the sangria. His voice was richer than expected as he began to sing the male part of the song, Two Lovers in Solitude. Rook's violin wailed in reponse to Lucanis' vocals, no one present needed to hear the actual words to know the melancholy of the song and how well Lucanis' matched it.

Sepo: "Hm, maybe that fucker with the shield? I think I could sneak up behind him and put a dagger in his throat."

(I'd give him 50/50 odds against Boromir, depending on if he can actually sneak up on him)

Twenari: "Ugh, I'm no good against ranged attacks, so I'll take the dwarf. So long as I can keep him at bay, I should be fine. He looks tough, but maybe not seven fire blasts to the face tough."

(And she's right. If Twenari can keep Gimli at a long range, she should be fine)

Djek: "Gods beyond, I gotta fight these guys? Fuck it, I'll take the short, squirrley looking one."

(Djek could probably beat Pippin. They'd both take it easy, though, and go smoke a bowl afterwards)

Sepo: "I'm a siren, I'm not getting stranded on any damn island. ...But if somehow, magically, I was trapped there, I'd take my dagger. It's the first step in making most of the things I'll need to survive."

Twenari: "Firewood. I can light it with my magic, and then I'll have a signal flare."

Djek: "A whole lotta alchemist-grade kishra. I ain't surviving a godsdamned desert island - look at me - so I might always make those last days fun!"

Blake’s whole ranch property is so large that it actually is within 2 different town lines. The green lodge does have an address of its own and sits within Ravia town limits. The new house has a different, new address and it technically sits within Mill Creek town limits instead of Ravia. They are several miles apart and town lines are a bit squirrley and jig jog quite a bit.
