Apple of Eden Update

So I'm not sure if my followers here on Tumblr are interested in status updates of the next Pieces of Eden book (Neon Utopia's sequel) but here's what's going on now:

I'm currently on my fourth draft of edits and I just finished the 22nd chapter out of 29.

I plan on having at least two more runs through it before deciding to release. Because of that, I don't have a set date yet. Sorry. I just have a way of looking at it without deadlines because it'll only cause stress I don't technically need because I'm self-publishing anyways.

I'm really liking this book. I think it'll be better than the one before. I have my Alpha and Beta readers to thank for all their help and input. That's not to say that I get a little boost every time I hear from readers who enjoyed Neon Utopia. Ultimately, I wish that everyone reading Apple of Eden will love it and agree that I've improved too. Not for a confidence boost, but just because I want my writing to be more clear and precise for readers.

Aside from my writing, I also do other creative endeavors. One of which is making OOAK dolls by repainting and rerooting hair on the kinds of dolls we see out in the stores now. Concerning that, I actually have plans of making the characters from PoE into dolls! Rainbow/Shadow High to be exact, so they'll have a bit of a cartoonish look to them. They'll be for fun and I think it'll help me connect with them more for my writing. If anyone's interested in seeing them as I make them, let me know!

Fibonacci status: I have not forgotten about Fibonacci! I plan to pick it up again after the release of Apple of Eden so as to give myself some time in between books to breath and relax. I might actually be able to finish it and I can't wait to see what's in store.

Hyenas are such an interesting animal. Especially the spotted which we're all used to. They can be vicious, sure, but what animal can't really? I love how you draw Sweet Pea. She's just enough realism that you get to see the cuteness of the animal. Hyenas get such a bad rap

aw thank you! I'm so glad you like how I draw her. I feel like whenever I draw a character, especially a more creature-y one, I draw them a bit different every time as I learn more-- but my main goal with Sweet Pea's design has always been to get in lots of cute real hyena elements.

and hyenas really do get a bad rap! Spotted ones in particular. It's a shame. There should be a support group for unfairly maligned and misunderstood animals: hyenas, sharks, snakes, every bug, every spider... it would be a support group with lots of very small chairs.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I was named after a rose bush by my dad. My mom added her middle name just because he wouldn't let her name me.

2. When was the last time you cried?

August 2022. My favorite uncle passed away suddenly. I had to make several difficult decisions on his behalf that I wasn't really prepared for.

3. Do you have kids?

I have a number of 'adopted strays'. Haven't been lucky enough to have any biological demons yet.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Hmm... sarcasm. What a positively glorious concept. Of course I use it. It's practically in my blood... lol.

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

In person; I notice their face... mostly the eyes. You can tell a lot about a person's character by the way they look at you and their surroundings. Then their hands. Hands will tell you if they honestly know what hard work is.

Online; I notice grammar and punctuation. Can they carry on a conversation without hitting caps lock? Are they at least breaking sentences up with periods?

6. What’s your eye color?

Dark chocolate brown. At night, in low light, they almost turn black.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Why not both? I want a good horror movie that can scare my socks off. I also what a great movie of almost any genre that can pull off a happy ending. It definitely doesn't have to and probably shouldn't be the same movie.

8. Any special talents?

I'm an artist and apparently a decent writer.

9. Where were you born?

Small town USA

10. What are your hobbies?

Drawing, sculpting, painting, 3D modeling, writing, video games

11. Have you any pets?

One dog - Zeus. He's a boxer-pit (pibble) with the best personality. He's probably the best dog I've ever had.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

Softball, girl's baseball, archery, running, skating, hiking, swimming, volleyball, bad-mitten, ping pong, air hockey, kayaking (I did some of this more as a kid/teen than now)

13. How tall are you?

5,1 - I'm a short-shit

14. Favorite subject in school?

Art with a close second of science.

15. Dream job?

Getting paid to work on my art and/or writing would be awesome. Second choice: working remotely. Honestly, making enough money to live on comfortably would be idea.
